20 Best Wardrobes For Small Bedrooms (2023 Updated)

I bought this as additional storage for my daughter and son-in-law for their new twins. It took him about 4 hours, by himself, to put together with a screwdriver hand drill. The armoire came in 2 very heavy boxes.

For the price, it’s a beautiful piece and not too narrow. Its a decent size for storage. I ordered it in white to go along with the rest of the babies’ furniture. May give update later if need be for wear and tear.

So far, I am very happy with the purchase.

Generally I like South Shore a lot but I didn’t find this cabinet worth the price. We were having a lot of trouble finding an armoire that we liked and could get on time (for our nursery). It is a nice cabinet but wish the price was lower.

Also despite being well packaged it arrived with some damage, so was probably damaged before being put in the box.

Very pleased with this purchase. We bought 4 storage cabinets to put in our garage. Assembling them was rather simple and straight forward. They were assemble within 4-6 hour timeframe, in total. The material is sturdy and solid.

Quite heavy too. However the surface can easily be scratch and chip if not handled with extra care. We chose to fix them to the wall for extra security. Luckily they were to level with the ground so they were not wobbly to start with.

They only little down side is I wished they were taller in hight for more storage space. However the highest shelf is at eye-view so that’s not too bad either. We had to place our storage cabinets in a closed storage unit outside while our garage floor was being fix for a few days.

Due to the humidity the top sheet of one of the shelf inflated and crinkled a bit. It is not too bad since we placed the shelf in a way not to see it. There was also some of the little hardware to hold the shelves that were missing, so we needed to buy some at the hardware store.

Overall, minus some little details, we are pleased with our purchase. The storage cabinets will serve their purpose to the fullest!.

Pros: Everything fit together very nicely. The holes are drilled precisely. The important parts were all there (zinc cam, euro screws, twister dowel, hooks etc). Cons:Heavy; One was missing a screw,another was missing a metal dowel; Lack of labelling on the parts; What appeared to be scratches on the panels – was actually excess glue.

Had to use acetone to remove these. There does seem to be a wide gap when you initially set up the doors, but there is a depth setting on the hinges that has to be set to close that gap.

The coat cabinet was easy to put together. Well, super easy when you have someone else helping you, due to that the cabinet is very heavy and hard to lift when completed. Once the heavy coats were in, I had a little issue closing the doors, so I had to fold the sleeves and stick them in between the other coats.

But, it looks great in my laundry room. I highly recommend it to others.

I just needed some extra storage in my bedroom and this works perfectly. It is not so big (64 inches tall), so it’s very easy to put a couple of boxes on top (pay attention to the total weight it can accommodate).

It is a really nice piece of forniture, very good looking and durable. It is not difficult to assemble (instructions are very clear) but it will take some time, especially if you do that alone. It took me between 3 and 4 hours to assemble.

The most difficult part is the doors alignement, you’ll just need some patience. I totally recommend it!.

When this item arrived it came in two boxes each with 10+ pieces. It took 3 hours for my husband and I to put it together, and once it was together it was too heavy to easily move (so I suggest assembling it near where you permanently want it).

These things are not the reason I am giving it 2 stars though; overall the quality of the product is very low. Attempting to move the assembled furniture causes each piece to bend and bow. I was afraid the shelves couldn’t support the weight of our clothes by how flimsy the joints were.

But my greatest frustration is with the drawers, not even one week of owning this item and the bottom drawer fell apart. The instructions said each drawer could support 25lbs but I had no more than 10lbs of clothes in it when the bottom fell through.

The only reason I am not returning it is because I don’t want to spend another 3 hours breaking it down and finding a way to package and send all of the 100 screws back. Overall it was a waste of time and money.

SO thrilled with these armoires. My husband and I desperately needed storage upstairs in our finished Texas basement. All our Christmas decorations, wrapping paper, and seasonal items have been scattered on the floor to one end of this area for years.

After contacting four carpenters for quotes to build custom storage areas, we decided to find pre-made items to avoid the mess and expense of professionals. These units are VERY well made and beautiful.

We purchased 5 of them and my husband put them together himself. He took his time and got all five done in five days. I am now in the process of filling them up. VERY VERY HAPPY Hayneedle customer. Thank you.

I have never written a bad review befire especially not fir QVC products. I irdered this wardrober 2 weeks ago. My husband tried to put it tigether and for 1;parts were missing;. for 2 he called and told them they saud they eould ship them out in 5-6 days: for 3 we git them abd they were the wrong parts.

He called again today and they ssud thry have to send out the right parts. They asked if it was ordered from QVC or Amazon. My husband said QVC. I don’t know what that had yo do with it, but apparently to them it makes a difference.

If we don’t get the right parts this tome I’m returning it to you. I expect a full credit. You might want to think twice about using the to represent QVC. I’m really not happy about this.

This is a nice roomy storage closet. It’s large enough to fit an assortment of clothes, accessories, and shoes!! I love that it’s roomy but really doesn’t take up much space in our home at all. It’s great quality so I feel like it will last me for year to come.

Well made and durable. I do online sales so I quickly out grew my closet space in the master bedroom and spare bedroom haha so. when I came across this I couldn’t wait to try it out. I’m so glad I did.

I’ve fit so much stuff in it nearly and organized and I’ve finally got mine and my hubby’s closets back for our actual clothes.

Very lovely piece. Thoughtful organization before assembly is a must. In the piece sent to me, the screw holes reflecting door hinge placement were slightly misaligned. The proper location of these holes was too close to the factory placed holes that correction was not wise, As a result the doors were slightly misaligned; but, the product was so satisfactory otherwise that I would not hesitate to order a second such unit.

I was looking for a storage unit to put in my bedroom for handbags and shoes. I am going to retrofit the larger (left) side for handbags and put shoes on the smaller (right) side. I will be adding additional smaller shelves so that I will be able to store up to 40 pairs of shoes.

The unit may be a little pricey for my intentions, but it looks so nice in the bedroom. Originally I was going to have a carpenter build something, but this was a cheaper alternative. The two drawers at the bottom are great for storing my decorative bed pillows when not on the bed.

Also, I love the Java color. It takes hours to put this unit together, so be prepared. I assembled over four days and finally finished it. With help, you could finish sooner.

Ordered white so any nicks in the future can be painted. Happy with the purchase. Came fairly quickly with no damage. Good instructions, but only for someone handy and their helper. Even at this price, cheaper than ripping out a wall to enlarge a closet.

I love Furniture of America’s products so I just knew I needed to get their Dani Armoire when I saw it on 1StopBedroom. The Dani is top tier quality so this was a great buy. It’s a feature item in my guestroom.

The wardrobe was received promptly after ordering–earlier than anticipated. The color is as show/expected It is well made (not in China : -) and is not difficult to assemble. My adult grandson put it together in about 2 hours.

The only assistance he required was in raising it up off the floor once it was assembled. It is sturdy, not wobbly – has good support built in. Downsides – the stain finish is very odiferous–enough to give me a headache (I often have that problem with strong smells).

Fortunately, I could put it (the unassembled parts) outdoors for two days to off-gas. After that, no odor problem. The only other fault with this product is that it is not deep enough for coats on hangers.

(closets are typically 24″ deep; this is unit is 22. 5″ deep) So, it is a bit of a nuisance. I knew that going in and accepted it because all the other features meet my needs. I am very happy with it.

It came in 3 well packed boxes and well marked. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. The only unclear assembly was the back support brace in the wider part of the cabinet space It seemed backward to the picture, but was able to figure it out.

I was able to assemble it by myself, but it does take patience, so allow time and you can do it! I did require my partner to help lift it and move to place at the end. I added felt glider pads to the bottom as I did use it in a space with wood floors.

It does take a bit to figure out how to install the sliding doors. The wheels do go in the grooves, not the adjustment piece, so that was confusing at first. Overall, it is very nice and I appreciate that it is solid wood and not particle board with a finish.

Good quality, shipped with all parts and nothing was scratched or damaged. It came together pretty easily. My husband helped and it probably took the two of us about an hour. (It does help that he’s a contractor).

Compared to other mahogany or cherry furniture I have, it really does have that underlying deep red color you see in the pictures. I gave it a 4 instead of 5 simply looking at price vs quality. It comes with 1 shelf, so I had to buy 3 more shelves at over $50 each, so to have a shelved storage, this actually cost me over $700.

arrived quickly. Works great for our son’s room in the fraternity house. Was fairly simple to assemble. Quality is about what you would expect for the price. It is definitely not heavy duty, but will serve it’s purpose for his needs.

It’s a nice and compact wardrobe for the price. It can be used in a bedroom and also for other purposes like storage for a cleaning area. It’s not so tall as I expected, but has nice divisions.

This is a beautiful piece of furniture, and it arrived quickly and in perfect condition. Excellent for the price. It’s made of wood, but it’s not hardwood. Pine, I think. Ours came with drawers and kickplate that didn’t match the rest of the cabinet, but we didn’t want to wait for replacements and it actually looks pretty good that way, so c’est la vie.

Assembly was a challenge. Sure, it’s flat-packed, but this ain’t Ikea. Four college-educated adults, fairly fit but with achy joints, need five hours to complete it. Granted, two people could probably have done it faster.

Those other reviews that say hanging the doors is the hardest part? Yeah. They’re right. As far as tools you need, I can’t remember what the instructions said, but we had a drill with driver bits and drill bits, a few large and small phillips-head screwdrivers, a hammer, and a small flashlight (those hinges!) We wished we had a rubber mallet and some other tool that I can’t remember.

You’ll figure it out. I would definitely buy this or other pieces from this company again. Highly recommended.

I put this linen cupboard together by myself. (I’m a 63 year old woman. A software developer who is good at reading instructions. Some pieces were a little heavy but I managed. ). I only needed a friends help (Mark) at one point to lift the frame and help move it to the wall where it is now located.

That definitely needed at least two people. It’s very heavy. The instructions are all pictures and were very easy to interpret. I put the frame together in about 4 hours. I found that an electric Phillip’s drill was helpful even though the instructions indicate to use a manual Phillip’s screw driver.

I assembled the rest in about 2-3 hours (cupboard doors, drawers & shelves). Everything fit together perfectly and there were no missing pieces. I’ll attach pictures of the finished product if this site allows it.

I ordered the extra shelves (2 sets of 4 smaller shelves, and 2 of the larger shelves). I’m using it as a linen cupboard instead of an armoire. I would very much recommend this product. The quality is pretty good, I’d give it 8 on a scale of 1-10.

It’s solid wood and heavy. I am very impressed with the quality of the drawers, they slide easily and won’t fall out. (One of the reviews I saw said there were five people trying to put it together and they had issues.

I would suggest they had too many cooks in the kitchen. ). If I put it together by myself, anyone can. Some pieces are pretty heavy and two people are needed to lift the finished frame but otherwise I did it.

The price for the unit seemed a bit high for what it is. Sure it’s nice-looking, but we purchasers are doing all the work assembling the unit. The directions could have been clearer, more nails provided for the backing, and pre-drilled holes better done.

I’ve got scratches that only could have happed at manufacturing that I am unhappy with. Fortunately, I have wax sticks to cover scratches. Extra slap in the face on having to purchase shelves separately.

I feel taken for a mediocre piece of furniture.

We love this armoire, it’s very well made and a perfect addition for our clothing needs. It’s versitile enough for a TV, wardrobe or storage. Just as pictured and arrived as scheduled.

This is a really great piece. It’s very well made, heavy and you can tell will last. Very pleased!

From delivery through build this was not as expected. We could barely get the delivery service to cart the items up to the floor of our office building – ach Box heavier than the next Which is expected.

However for the weight of each Box the materials included or significantly less quality than expected many of which were chipped broken or scratched. We hired someone to come build and install the unit it took so much time with the hourly charge it was nearly the same amount as the unit itself give or take a few hundred dollars.

Once we used nails gorilla glue and electric tan electric tape for the broken and chipped pieces as well as to cover up some scratches that were fortunately hidden by the doors the look itself one was as promised.

Unless you open the boxes immediately to determine that all of the pieces included are in fact intact before letting the delivery person go and unless you have someone super handy or full installation included full installation included I say this piece is absolutely not worth the time effort frustration or expense.

Call ikea next time.

We bought two of them, the 47″ and the 59″. First of all, who ever said it can be assembled in an hour is smoking something. It took me an hour just to get everything out of the three boxes it came in.

It took two of us 3 hours, and the instructions are horrible, they are not even printed in decent quality, couldnt even put a staple in the middle to hold the paperwork together. I think that the quality of the unit looks okay, the unit is extremely heavy, but really not all that sturdy, you are certainly not moving it around.

The two I bought were on a pallet and weighted 805 pounds. Ugh. All that being said, you need two people to assemble, and I think the finished product will be acceptable, and more attractive then IKEA brand stuff.

Cons: – The total packaging is heavy, but product details does not mention weight. Moving up stairs is rather painful. – Instruction we got have about 5 errors leading to time waste and frustration. Instruction are also unclear in few points.

The YouTube video is not detailed and doesn’t cover unclear points. – Assembly time in instruction says 1 hour. This is dishonest in my opinion. 1 hour would be a world record for this. Average for two people is going to be around 12 hours without resting time.

– Pricey for an item with no assembly included and lack of assembly quality. Pros: – Looks good once finished.

So i fully expected this despite its claims to be small and chinzy. This storage is surprisingly well sized, the installation/set up looked very daunting but within a few mins I realized it was quite easy, repetitive and time consuming but easy.

The shelves are fabric so even though they have great tensile strength smaller or narrow heavy objects will sit awkwardly in the sag of the shelf, for clothing and light to medium storage this is fantastic! Quite satisfied!.

I have a small closet and because we live here temporarily, I didn’t want to invest in expensive furniture. This organizer is amazing, it holds all my dresses and all the extra clothing and stuff I have.

It fits my room decor and it has way more space than I expected. It took me about one hour to assemble, but overall it is an easy thing to do. I really recommend it if you need extra storage space and you don’t want to buy expensive furniture.

For the price, this is wonderful! It took me about an hour-by myself-to put it together and it is very sturdy! I was impressed by how much weight the hanger bar can hold. I bought this primarily to keep my Cosplay costumes and some of them are heavy.

This thing didn’t budge! Definitely worth every penny. The outer cover is pretty thin and putting it on myself I did rip it slightly so be careful when pulling it over!!.

Definitely takes 2 people to put this together; and it takes a while but it’s very nice and the pieces are sturdy, well crafted. Nice wood smell. One of the doors came with a notch in it and the customer service was ready to send us a replacement but we declined the offer because it was more trouble than it was worth.

Love this wardrobe we got for my daughter. I like the modular aspect of this unit: You can choose to either have hanging space or add shelves for folded clothes. Also like the smaller mirror on this unit as it’s not so large that it’s hard to open and close the door.

It did take a while to set up and was a little complicated but overall good value. I wished more shelves came with the unit (only 2) rather than having to order separately.

I liked the product- while not solid wood (wood veneer on plywood or pieced wood), it looks good. Two complaints: 1- almost all screw holes were marked, except the ones for the recessed hinges, which are super important to get straight.

2- the lack of words and explanation on the drawer slide installation/tweaking of those and hinges left a lot to be desired. It took me (with intermittent help from my husband for the heavy lifting) 3-1/2 hours to put together (while also keeping kids away from it).

Not difficult, but you need a bunch of free space to work in.

It was in bad shape upon arrival – several areas were bashed in & crushed. The box seemed fine, so it seems almost like it was packaged like that. The bottom drawer would not close at all. It was simply made that way – looks like it never closed and was, again, packaged like that.

The bottom support strips beneath the bottom drawer had come unstapled and were flapping loose. The drawer bottoms themselves were warped and had large gaps. I would not use this manufacturer – this was a terrible product.

If we didn’t tear out the bottom and back piece (of the bottom drawer portion) trying to figure out why the bottom drawer didn’t close, I would have sent it back. We are going to make new drawers for it w/real glides instead of the cheap 1970s era rails currently on it.

I was wanting to use it right away, now we have a major woodworking project just to fix it. It was quite expensive for the poor, poor quality product we received. I would not sell this for $50. Do not buy.

Love it but putting the top piece together and then trying to lift to place on top of bottom was difficult. Wish the top was attached to bottom.

It’s small size compared to my actual order but the looks are beautiful. The one I dislike is there is no secured lock to make the 2 piece together preventing from accidentally detached and fall on the floor.

So far I have had the wardrobe for 2 days. The color and functionality of the wardrobe is proper and works for our needs. Although the packaging was good, one of the side panels managed to get slightly dented.

Furthermore, 2 of the 4 drawers had their holes drilled incorrectly so i couldn’t not assemble the drawers properly. One was worse than the other. I have called customer service and requested the new pieces to be delivered to me rather than returning the entire wardrobe, but I am still waiting for their final response/decision.

Finally, i chose the color white with a shiny glaze. The color seems very nice, however, several of the pieces had some rough patches which took away from the nice shine. fortunately, the major spots were in the lower portions of the wardrobe so they were easily hidden.

Nice glossy finish. It is particle board so inspect the boxes carefully as there was damages with ours, fortunately in the back area so not noticeable and we preferred to ignore it opposed to wait longer of a replacement.

Looks great in my grandchildren’s playroom.

I recieved 2 A parts and no B part, but the unit looks great. Love the fact that each screw/bolt are indiviually packaged with a letter on it for easy use plus included is replacement screw/bolts in another package.

So if you lose/break something, extras are there. I got the mulberry unit and it is a dark brown with lighter grain, looks like wood.

Love this armoire! Relatively easy to put together if you take your time. Well made. Wished that it was a bit deeper so there was a bit more room for clothes to hang. Adequate storage.

Ordered two of these and they are perfect size, they are pretty heavy though so please be kind to the delivery men and make sure you have a strong person to help you carry it in and assemble it with you.

Might order another since my kid saw it and liked it for herself too.

found some of the screws extremely small and fiddly to use maybe if the hinges came already attatched to doors would of made it easier

Title says Solid wood but it’s not, the pieces are labelled and assembly using the instructions works out ok in the end It does look like modern cheap chipboard type furniture though. I’ve assembled it and it does the job, it is better than the very cheap units on the market that I’ve had in the past, eg MFi, Hygena etc.

Excellent product which was easily assembled by myself a 70 year old lady. Im very pleased with the results.

Requirements: a decent amount of clear space for assembly; strong organizational skills; strong teamwork; diligence; creativity; perseverance; and patience. Biggest Takeaways:1. ) Wood is good quality and you should use an electric drill for pre-drilling holes and installing screws2.

) The top piece does not have correct bore holes for the dowels, I recommend removing a dowel if you have problems3. ) The doors are difficult to attach to the hinges, you need to open and close them while angling the door to get the hinge to pop into the pocket4.

) Nothing about this piece of furniture is soft-close; I recommend the fabric furniture feet stickers to keep things quiet5. ) The alignment is off on the doors. However, it could be fixed if I cared enough to decipher the directions on tweaking the hinges.

It looks fine. 6. ) The metal track is a nightmare to attach to the two drawers because the screws are not pointy and you will drop them 40 times trying to get a flat-tipped screw into a bore hole with a slightly smaller width.

But, it can be done !I truly believe you need an electric power drill for this one. Not only for the screws, but for pre-drilling the holes. The wood is actually decent quality so hand-turning a screwdriver was a nightmare.

You need to be super diligent putting this together. Once it is in a general box shape/shell, it wants you to use books to prop up the shell and put in the shelves and backing. I used folded towels and fluffy rugs because I did not have books that were the same thickness and it would have been wobbling everywhere.

The hinges are good quality but it is actually so difficult to attach the doors. You need to angle the door and pop the hinge into the pocket one at a time so the hinge pops into the pocket and holds the door up on its own (but still have a partner hold it up the whole time).

Other than the general high-level of difficulty of this piece, it is great. It fits hangers and clothes well, even if it looks over-filled when the doors are open. I would recommend this to two (or three) people who are up for this rewarding challenge.

I bought this armoire to match the shaker bed I bought from Wayfair a few years ago. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that they are from the same manufacturer and part of the same line so I had no qualms about ordering.

I was very happy with the quality of the bed and I expect to be just as happy with the armoire. We haven’t assembled it yet (it looks like a beast and weighs a ton!) but the parts and pieces seem heavy duty.

It is real wood all the way through. Looking forward to seeing it assembled. I will update my review if I have anything different or useful to add. Update: My husband and I assembled the armoire without any trouble.

It took about 2 or 3 hours. If you follow the instructions, assembly is quite simple. As I expected, the quality & heft of the wood is pretty good but th quality of the hardware is sub-par. Some of the assembly pieces are plastic which don’t lend a lot of confidence in the long term.

The drawers will likely need more support as the construction is quit simple and elemental. The unit holds an incredible amount of stuff and is very useful. And it looks great! Overall, very happy with it for the price paid.

Very good for self assembly furniture. Materials are of good quality. Heavy duty hinges and drawer glides. Mostly solid wood with a good finish. Pieces fit together well. I was able to assemble by myself in 3-4 hours at a leisurely pace.

No problems during assembly, but you should modify assembly steps to fit your circumstances. Some handyman experience definitely helps.
