I rarely play below normal difficulty, but parts of this game were just too much, even on easy, the first time around. In fact, I probably died more on this game’s easy level than I do playing Call of Duty and most other shooters on Hard.

They throw a LOT at you, and the way bosses become almost common baddies after you beat them for the first time, it’s a challenge. There’s certainly no place for stealth or strategy at any point of this shooter.

The story felt more action oriented than past installments. Even the early games could make me a little nervous when a big bad monster was first introduced. Not so much here, whatever the reason. My only real gripe with the game has to do with the auto-saves.

This game has a LOT of crazy jumping and climbing. I fell a lot. In most cases, it puts you back at the very start of the jump/climb level, rather than close to where you actually fell. As someone who didn’t really like the jumping levels, this was especially frustrating.

In one sequence toward the end I started with full health, ammo and full armor, but fell so many times in the attempt that I drained both health and armor completely and died. When I respawned I only had 25% health 30% ammo, and no armor, which was about what I had when I finished the preceding mega-battle.

But I left the battle area with full health, ammo, and armor, traversed a long corridor, even opened a major door, so returning me to a save so far away was more than uncalled for. Anyway you slice it that was just plain bad programming.

I played this game on the PS5 – the PS4 version will play on the PS5, but it also has a free PS5 upgrade that popped as soon as I inserted the disc. Fortunately, the PS5 controllers aren’t as loose as the PS4 generation controllers always were, so navigating through jumps were a little less frustrating than they might have been had I played through on our PS4-Pro.

The free steelbook that Best Buy included (separately) was nice. I was surprised they still had them. It always pays to buy physical. Sad that younger generations may never know what they’re really giving up buying digital.

Doom: Eternal picks up where the previous Doom leaves off, with the Doom Slayer coming to Earth to fend off the demon invasion. This sort of mirrors the plot of the original Doom 2, but the story is much more fleshed-out here.

The first-person shooting gameplay is more frantic than ever and will definitely put your skills to the test on the Hurt Me Plenty difficulty or above. Earning your resources back during intense skirmishes requires skillful use of melee executions, the chainsaw, and the new shoulder-mounted flamethrower; you’ll need to keep moving constantly in almost every encounter.

Most familiar firearms make a return, although some changes have been made in their secondary functions. such as the Super Shotgun now having a grappling hook which can latch onto foes at mid to close range.

The campaign is a respectable length and there are lots of secrets to find in each level, so expect to have a guide handy to find them all. The new Battle Mode is a welcome addition too, which allows players to fight as the demons.

If you liked the last Doom, you’ll enjoy this one.

Doom 2016 on PS4 was an exercise in patience. The load times were pretty atrocious. They would’ve been acceptable if they only appeared on level load, but dying and reloading would also put you through that lengthy loading screen.

Doom Eternal fixes this issue with the Lives system. Though it does take away from the challenge, it provides a much less frustrating experience. This, combined with more movement and traversal options, helps make for a faster-paced shooter game.

The combat is pretty cleverly designed. When the player is low on health, they can freeze enemies. When they are low on armor, they can burn enemies. And when they are low on ammo, they can chainsaw enemies.

Enemies themselves become resources. The enemy variety lends to natural incentive to use each and every weapon as well. There are 2 mods for each weapon that change how that weapon functions. I myself found a favorite mod for each weapon and never really switched it up but I never felt like I was lacking in combat options.

Altogether these systems keep combat engaging from start to finish. Exploration is worthwhile, providing you with upgrade points, keys, and collectibles. Obtaining all collectibles is made easier with a map that’s broken up into sections and a count of collectibles in each section.

Once you reach the end of a level, you can freely warp from section to section. Story isn’t normally a highlight for the series, and here it’s not much more than save mankind from being overrun by demons.

But it does lead to some grand setpieces and bossfights.

I been a really big fan of all the DOOM games since the first one came out in 1993. The movie is not exactly like the game, but they did pretty good on a lot of things and the soundtrack is great. The DOOM 2005 is not what fans wanted, but I love it and really enjoy the movie.

I watch the movie every year as a Doom Thing that I do lol. Anyways just watch it yourself, give it a try and see if you like it or not. I highly recommend you all to watch the movie hope you all enjoy DOOM 2005.

Great game! Graphics are unbelievable and I love how I have access to my classic doom games! Was a little disappointed at first though about having to download the extra contact but once I got the proper size SD card I got over that real quick lol.

Bought as a gift for son who loves nostalgic games. Enjoyed playing the older Doom games. He says it is fast paced, fluid game play and graphics good on OLED Switch console as well as on larger computer screen.

Like most first player games these days, it’s gets to a point where it’s very difficult to win. You have to figure out what you have to do. Unlike the original doom, where you just had to be skillful at defeating the monsters.

Doom 64 is a game made for the hardcore doom fans! I was happy to get a physical copy of this gem. I will say though that it is pricey. It could have also been bundled up with the other doom collection (Doom 1-3) that might make its way to Best Buy.

Of you’re a trophy hunter, keep in mind the game doesn’t have a long list of trophies and no platinum. But the game is still really good even after all these years.

This is an amazing port of the game. This moves a lot more smoothly with great effects especially considering its age. But the best part is that it finally has a good controller. The N64 was a fun system, but the controller made the game a bit more inaccurate and hard to play.

With symmetrical analog sticks you can finally play the game without having the controller fight you. Pick this up if you want to take a trip down memory lane and just want to enjoy a simpler time of shooters where you saw and you shot.

It’s Doom 64. Lots of people love it, a lot hate it. It’s definitely different that the original two and is actually the sequel to Doom 2, which a lot of people don’t know. It takes place right after the events of 2.

The graphics look like the 64 but cleaned up and running perfectly. It’s pretty difficult, but I’d you love the retro shooters, this one is top 10 for sure.

I’m just going to get straight into the meat of the game and put my conclusion at the end. There are 3 gameplay modes: Campaign, Multiplayer, SnapMap. Campaign and Multiplayer are self explanatory. In SnapMap you can create your own maps and play maps others have created.

I’ll give an overview of the positives and negatives, mostly of the campaign mode. Positives: – fast paced action: constantly on the move, no aim down sights for most weapons, no reloading ammo, always sprinting, have to keep moving otherwise demons will overrun you – platforming is done right, it helps change the pace up and is fun – unique weapons each with 2 upgrade paths – secrets found through the levels (secrets include the ability to replay old Doom levels) – armor and runes upgrades which add more depth and abilities – codex which gives you lore and detailed information about the world and demons of Doom – story/setting is interesting and keeps you enticed the whole game moving you between Mars and HeII – campaign is long and took about 11 hours to beat (not including all the challenges and secrets to be found) – mission select – able to replay old missions and pick up missed collectibles and finish challenges – Multiplayer: lots of variety in skins, fast paced, can transform into a demon – SnapMap: has some amazing levels that people have created, easy to make your own level Negatives: – bugs that prevent some challenges from being completed and some trophies from popping up (played on most recent patch 1.

06) – lack of variety in demons – too fast paced for some (friends complained about making them dizzy) – indoor environments can sometimes become bland – Multiplayer: levels are bland, players are massive bullet sponges, unlocking skins is completely random – SnapMap: not enough variety in the pieces you can place, no outside environments If you played the original Doom, you will love this classic reboot.

If you haven’t played the original Doom, then you will be in for a very tasty treat. This game is oozing with personality. If you are even slightly interested in single player FPS games, then YOU MUST pick this game up.

I don’t even play FPS games anymore but this game just reignited my enthusiasm for the genre. The multiplayer is fun although there are many games out there that do a better job but the campaign mode is where it is at.

It will keep you hooked for days and even after you’re done, you will find yourself wanting to replay the game. It’s that good! If you have the time and money, then I suggest you invest in Doom, a game that will entertain you for many days.

DOOM changed gaming in the 90s with its fast paced and brutal first-person action. Since then shooters have reduced the pace and increased the filler. Even Doom 3 succumbed to the prevailing trends, slowing the movement speed and placing the player in claustrophobic environments with no more than a few enemies to challenge the player at once.

DOOM (2016) returns to the franchises roots and pushes it to the extreme that modern hardware has made possible. There is no button to sprint. Your character charges full speed ahead at all times. The game doesn’t dole out the enemies in small groups.

It throws down the gauntlet and unleashes the horde. From a bloodied Mars base to hellish landscapes the game takes the player to another place and time that shines visually and disturbs graphically.

The sound is spot on with the weapons thumping the bass and packing a punch. Not merely satisfied to revamp the classic gameplay there are added challenges that can be found within each level as well as upgrade options for your armor, stats, and weapons.

This game is a love letter to the early days of the first person shooter but it also manages to feel new. It demonstrates that the elements that made the FPS revolutionary in the 90s are still brilliant today.

This is a good time to be a FPS fan. There’s been a renaissance of sorts with current-gen where multiplayer used to come first, single player stories and fun second. The script has been flipped with the revivals of both Doom and Wolfenstein: the New Order.

(Heck, Wolfenstein has NO multiplayer at all, and is oh, so much better for it!) While Wolfenstein focused primarily on story-telling, Doom hits the ground with “fun first, and immediately” as its mantra, and, like Wolfenstein, is now one of the two FPS games I simply won’t entertain the idea of ever trading in.

Unlike Doom 3, which was met with mixed reviews, but undoubtedly agreed upon that it signified a change in the series, Doom goes back to what made the first two so great and so re-playable. Wave after wave of demons, mass firepower, ammo, health, and power ups galore, and the unapologetic feeling of glee of just plunging headfirst into battle.

Everything about Doom is just a throwback not only to greatness, but to an originator of the entire FPS genre, except where it matters: graphics, sound, and the mild improvements to gameplay that keeps a series moving forward.

It doesn’t make the same overall changes to Doom that Doom 3 tried to, making it feel like a different game altogether using a license to characters; no, it returns to its roots wholeheartedly, and in my opinion, is a much better game for it.

For lovers of the first two games, original levels are hidden in each new level, begging to be found and added to your collection to go back and play for nostalgia’s sake later. Don’t hesitate on this- and if you haven’t played Wolfenstein, order or pick that up from Best Buy, as well, along with its standalone, Old Blood.

The folks at id/ Bethesda have given us two absolutely FUN games to play that pack more freshness than the past decade of Call of Duty has. Support is needed to ensure we keep receiving these types of FPS that place emphasis on a single player experience that, at minimum, matches the fun of multiplayer.

With the announcement that id/ Bethesda is also reviving Quake, we can only hope it marks the full return of the 3 biggest players of FPS that I grew up with. After playing these first two, Quake will be a no-hesitation purchase, for sure.

Upgraded to the G3’s from the Simms Tributary waders after two years of fly fishing. I stayed with Simms because of the various sizes offered for women. Love the fact you have short sizes. Although I purchased the same size in both, these seems to be a little bigger.

I especially noticed it in the chest area and the stockingfeet. I preferred the way the Tributary fit in those areas. The only thing that I don’t care for on the G3’s is the shoulder straps. I cannot get both straps around my shoulders to snap because of how high they are in the back with the shorter straps.

My arms aren’t that flexible! I do love how much more sturdy and significant they feel and have been wearing them this winter in 30 degree water. With Simms’ reputation, I know I will get many years of use and enjoyment from these G3s.

I bought the full because they were majorly on sale. My budget for waders was around $300. These are a much nicer model on sale for what I was going to spend on a more entry level model. My measurements are 40†hip, 30†waist, 36†chest, size 8.

5 shoe and I’m 5’4†tall. I can wear a small or medium and sometimes petite but it’s hard to find a small with an 8. 5 stockingfoot. I was worried they’d be extra baggy because of the “full†sizing but I honestly didn’t notice a difference.

I’ll have plenty of room for layering. I think maybe this model with the zipper allows for a more tailored fit than some of the other entry level waders I tried on. Glad I didn’t order a short or petite.

I needed the extra length in the leg to bend down. Really excited to try them out!.

Love these waders! I bought them at a local fly shop so I could get the right fit. I am 5’10” 180 with a size 11. 5 foot and the LS size fits perfectly and leaves room for layers. I came from a long line of old school all rubber waders and bootfoot too, so I did have pretty high expectations for them being more comfortable than those.

But wow, I must say I am honestly more impressed than I thought I would be. I paired these with the Orvis ultralight wading boots size 12 and couldn’t be happier. They’re so comfortable for hiking and even better when you’re in the water! Maybe this is common knowledge (never used stockingfoot waders and wading boots) but when you’re in moving water the pressure inflates the neoprene sock and almost suspends your foot in padding.

Did a 10 mile out and back hike in my waders and boots and was still comfortable when I got back to the car. I hiked thru heavy brush, boulders, sticks and even was stuck a few times by cacti. Waders are still perfect.

I stood for hours in a freezing mountain creek and never got cold even with no wool socks or insulation. I’m the guy who gets almost everything secondhand, so a $400 investment on waders and boots was a really big deal.

My only regret is wasting time and not getting these sooner. I hope to have these waders around for a long time.

This controller has my ideal ergonomics. It’s comfortable to hold in my large, long-fingered, man child hands. The coating on the frame is smooth and feels nice to the touch. The controller is matte black, so it doesn’t show dirtiness.

This is a blessing and a curse. Your friends won’t be afraid to use the controller because they won’t see it covered in grease and months of cheesy snack stains, but you may be less inclined to clean it.

In my experience, not cleaning this controller regularly will lead to buttons sticking down when they are depressed. I do not eat food while I play games, and I don’t think that I’m a particularly heavy user.

You must be diligent about cleaning this product. This is an issue with all controllers but I believe I experienced this issue earlier than with other controllers across a variety of consoles. Outside of this issue the product is wonderful to use.

As mentioned it feels great to hold, you can keep a solid grip on it, it pairs easily and has great range, and the buttons/sticks have a nice tactile feel and are very responsive. There are grip buttons, and a button under the middle of the controller.

I haven’t found a use for these yet but I appreciate having the option. The controller charges via a USB-C port which I am super happy about, and the controller holds a charge for much longer than I would expect.

Despite the gorgeous artwork and colours, this controller will not last long. I have had 3 of this same model: 1 of which was a blue/silver motif, same series, one of which was a warranty claim from Power A, the company in question.

In all 3 instances, the left analog stick would begin to ‘drift’ downwards, or flicker erratically. Makes gameplay or even menu navigation unreliable. This defect was present within 2 months of use, and in the case of the warranty replacement, started to appear within 2 weeks.

The defect is consistent and not been corrected even in later runs of the same model. Further, the controllers are not 100% compatible with the Nintendo Switch. Even when browsing settings and attempting to re-calibrate, the Switch will NOT recognize the controllers as valid and will not allow you to calibrate the analog sticks or any other settings.

Your only chance of a refund (unless you obtain it from a retail store and return it) is if you had bought it directly from the Power A website, and only within 60 days of that purchase. Do not buy this.

Not sure if I purchased 2 faulty controllers, but more than likely just not great build quality when it comes to joysticks. All I play is Mario Kart, so after a month my first ones left joystick felt like it was broken inside.

Would randomly get stuck in the down position causing drift. Returned it with protection plan to get a replacement. Used second one a little less to see if I could prolong the life of it. Well second one had the same issue after 2 months.

Build quality just doesn’t hold up like I need it to. I also have the PowerA nano controller just like this one and the build quality is soooo much better in it. Had it for 9 months now and still no drift or stick issues.

If PowerA would improve the quality of parts used, I think this would be a great long lasting controller. Will be returning the second one in hopes i can exchange for another Nano version.

“DOOM Eternal” is a game that I couldn’t put down. With the gory and satisfying gameplay, to the incredible visuals, this is an experience that every gamer should participate in. There are a lot of collectibles in this game, as well as easter eggs that beg to be discovered.

Also, the environments in this game are gigantic and I appreciated the amount of exploration. The only criticism that I have is about the story. I appreciate them trying to put in a better narrative, but a lot of it became forgettable over time.

Plus, it doesn’t help that a lot of the backstory that is vital to understanding the past is given to you via documents, and I would’ve loved to have seen more cutscenes showing the previous years of the DOOM Slayer (maybe the events we read about in the game can be in a prequel).

I don’t mind reading documents in games (this is coming from someone that read EVERY email in “Death Stranding”), but cutscenes would’ve emphasized important events better. Essentially, this is a fantastic game with amazing gameplay, visuals, and is a lot of fun.

I just think that the story needs some more work.

It’s definitely a labor of love. If you’re like me, you’ll probably be a bit put off by the story. But eventually it grew on me. It’s not as invasive as I believed it to be, and there’s plenty of references to the original Doom games anyway, so while it doesn’t always connect perfectly to them, it’ll feel familiar enough.

But all that aside, it’s still well worth playing through the entire campaign just for the game alone, even if you happen to not dig the story as much. It really might be one of the best FPS, if not the best FPS of the last decade, even better than Doom 2016 in terms of gameplay, challenge and level design.

I say get it!.

The helmet came in great condition, no damage to the box or the product itself. The helmet is giant and does fit with the head quite well. Made of light plastic, but that’s like every other game helmets I’ve seen – feels durable enough, if this would be worn for long periods.

Kind of echoes into your ears when you talk inside it, so be prepared if sensitive to sound. There are adjustments you can make with straps that connect around your cranium and chin, however there is one hook-piece from the straps that slide out of the helmet bracket kind of easily.

Not a huge issue, but noticeable. The back-head crank works well and helps tighten the fit to your head, but hard to do it yourself. Best to have a second person tighten that for you. Love the poster, will have to find a frame to protect and display it.

Pin is neat. Overall, very happy and excited to own this!.

Helmet looked like it was taken straight out of the game and was very comfortable. Can’t stop wearing it.

Doom 2016 was uncontested GotY, so I was expecting another A+++ gaming experience with Eternal, sadly this game came up short. While it’s technically a well made game, id decided that Doom 2016 was too simplistic and the result was making the game into a convoluted mess.

Now you have to constantly micromanage ammo and armor, the ammo issue is especially annoying because the stronger enemies have weak points that typically can only be hit by one weapon type, so you’ll have to duck out of battles and go on a scavenger hunt for a lone demon to chainsaw for ammo.

Ammo is typically found by chainsawing enemies (recharges on a timer, or fuel pickups), armor is refilled by using flame belch on enemies (recharges on a timer). Throughout the game you will constantly have to stop and utilize these two techniques instead of just going on your merry way and laying waste to all that moves.

You can upgrade the amount of ammo you hold throughout the game, but it’s still really low, especially because the stronger enemies are typically bullet sponges. They also introduced a new enemy straight out of dark souls, you can only damage him after stunning him, which requires being at mid range right before he attacks.

Now some people found a way to cheese this enemy and kill it after one stun, but it obviously wasn’t designed to be taken out so easily and it won’t unless you memorize the technique. I won’t be surprised if the DLC fixes this.

It’s just an inconvenience because it completely causes the frantic pace to come to a stand-still as you do nothing, waiting for him to attack. Besides the game play, id also decided we no longer want a Doom Slayer who destroys monitors because he doesn’t need a reason to kill, so now there’s all sorts of convoluted story that even includes flashbacks.

Nobody wanted this, please cut it out. Finally, the platforming sections aren’t anything to write home about, they typically just consist of boosting through the air, they’re not the retro Doom style exploration I was hoping for.

Now for the good: the music is great, more color has been added to the environments, the movement is all-around improved and even includes air dashing, and some of the new weapons (especially the Super Shotgun’s hook and chain) are great.

There are some good ideas here and overall improvements, but in the end it’s bogged down because id forgot the brilliance in 2016’s simplicity. Finally, don’t even bother criticizing this game around it’s fanboys because they are typically only capable of responding in memes.

Doom Eternal by no means a bad game, but it pales in comparison to Doom 2016.

As a fan of fast paced first person shooters, this is a great game collection. Personally, I loved being able to play the original Doom games and feel how it would have felt to have played them when Doom was still in its infancy.

Getting to play the originals and compare them to the new one felt amazing. I love how the new game takes the fast-paced action from the first Doom games and applies that into a story-based game that stays true to the original idea.

It is a very graphic game and feels satisfying with each kill. With this being my first intro to the doom franchise, I have to say it’s a great purchase. I loved being able to play the old games and experience them how they were made to be experienced.

10 out of 10, will play again.

The largest reason why I chose this version of the game as opposed to the standard edition is largely due to the amount of gameplay for the price. Granted, it would have been nice if these extra games were in the disk as opposed to PSN codes, but apparently that’s the gaming environment we currently live in.

The gameplay is just as exiting and addicting as I have seen in gameplay videos and it almost a return to forn compared to one of its previous titles, that being Doom 3. It was frantic, fast pace, and that was just the first level! However, I was concerned with the amount of data that had to be downloaded for a single player game.

Granted, there were multiplayer options, but the size really pushed the internal memory limits of my PS4 Pro. So something to keep in mind when purchasing this version or even the standard version of the game.

If you already have the original Doom 2016 and looking to get Doom 1,2, and 3 on the physical disc don’t bother with this. You will get a download code for those games. Also, why wouldn’t they include Doom 64 as part of the collection? At $14.

99 it’s a great buy if you don’t own any of these games. I will be returning my copy since I already own Doom 2016 and the digital versions already. I may have missed it in the online ad about the digital download codes but it should be made more visible in the ad or on the box.

They even use the same Doom 2016 disc apparently without any update patches to that game on disc. LAZY cash grab from Bethesda. Disappointed.

I’m a huge fan of Doom and grew up playing the originals. I loved the reboot that came out a few years ago and am looking forward to the sequel. I was hoping that Doom VFR would offer a similar adventure that would put me in the middle of the chaos that would up the intensity whilst still feeling a bit terrified.

Whilst it did a good job of putting me re-creating the chaos, it always wrought chaos on the control scheme and movement. Playing with the standard PS4 control worked well in accessing quick side-stepping and weapon switching but could make you feel a bit nauseous and disconnected from being more immersed.

I then tried it with the move controllers. This immediately felt better and improved the immersion. however this did not last long. It felt as if it over-complicated the control scheme and the guns sometimes didn’t line up accurately, creating a frustrating experience.

It felt far more difficult to keep up with pace of the action with the move controllers than it did with the standard PS4 controller. The music and sound is solid and the best part of the experience for me.

I have enjoyed parts of it, as it offers another angle on the original story – but it isn’t anything amazing in terms of its writing – but I didn’t expect it to be. This is only my opinion and experience with this game, it shone at times when you’re exploring the creepier and quieter parts of the facility but the more time I spent with the game it ended-up feeling like more of a chore to jump back in.

I have the Doom Slayers Collection game, which consists of Doom I, Doom II, Doom 3, and Doom (2016). I loved playing the classic Doom games as a kid and so I bought this game to relive my memories. This is an intense game that brings in an adrenaline rush every time I play it, but I also love playing with my brother in the two-player option Doom (2016) offers.

I highly recommend this game to gamers who love action and adventure!.

As of Feb. 2018, this game is valued around $20. I’m almost finished with the game and I have to say I’m very glad this was the first game I got for the PSVR. The controls take a while to get familiar with, but they aren’t bad.

If you have fast reflexes and have patience when learning a new game, you’ll learn to pick it up quickly. It’s really fun and definitely worth the grab.

I was a tween/teen when the first DOOM came out, and played every DOOM since. The amazing thing about this version is that it (surprisingly) does manage to both pay homage to the original while also updating the game play to be a modern shooter.

There is a single player campaign, with a fairly weak and uninspiring story (much like other DOOMs), but there is a story. The game play has the classic fast and simple appeal of the original – never stand still, run over things to pick them up, blue health/green armour/multiple types of power up and ammo.

There’s still ‘secrets’ to be found too. Glory kills, combat challenges, weapon upgrades etc. All add something new. The graphics are great and the setting on mars works well with the Zombie theme. I would say I found it shorter than I expected (took me around 20 hours to complete the campaign on ‘hurt me plenty’, and I’m a pretty average gamer), and the multiplayer while not bad is a meh (I suck anyway).

So it’s not a reboot, or a reimagining. It’s a modern update of the original, done well. If you liked the original DOOM then you should like this, if not, it’s probably not for you. If you never played original DOOM – well you might be missing the nostalgia factor, but it should still be fun given the fast paced action makes it fairly different from a lot of today’s FPSs which are mostly cover based.

Daaaaammmmnnn!!! Non stop action just the way Doom is meant to be. Im very surprised by this but damn this is too good. Would not have even looked at it if it wasn’t for being included in a promo but I’m glad I have it.

Will be playing it again for sure.

DOOM is fantastic, and exactly what it sets out to be: a fun, challenging game that is very aware that it is, in fact, a game. The impressive graphics, incredibly fast pace, and constant action keep you engaged and immersed, and completely validate id’s decision to essentially disregard story.

Unlike any other recent shooter I can think of, DOOM focuses entirely on being a fun game with great mechanics, and is humorously self-aware at times. At no point does this game sacrifice timing, design, or adrenaline for story, and it works like magic– the result is pure fun that will remind anyone who played the originals what was so exciting twenty-something years ago.

It wasn’t exciting because you felt like you were uncovering a deep and intricate story, or solving a mystery, it was exciting because you were playing a fast, hard, awesome game that wasn’t pretending to be anything else.

This game, I hope, will revive that aspect of the action genre, much as Half-Life introduced the story-driven aspect which has become so overblown that a return to form such as this is incredibly refreshing.

Don’t get me wrong, Half-Life was awesome, and intense stories can be wonderful. What I’m excited about, here, is that choice is awesome and wonderful, too, and sometimes you just want a brutal, crazy experience that doesn’t mess around and definitely never stops to take a breath until it’s over (and that has incredible replay value).

Thank you, id, for a game that is unapologetic about what it is and is, in my opinion, an absolute contender for my favorite ever. Oh, P. S. : If you have ever played a game and thought ‘this might be too gory for me,’ then DOOM is probably not for you, and that’s fine.

It’s easily the most graphic thing I’ve ever played, no exaggeration. If you’re interested in a rich multiplayer experience and tend to skip right over single player entirely, well, you’re not going to feel the same way as I do.

My advice though, is: make an exception, give it a chance, relive an experience that will remind you how fun single-player can be (or find out for the first time). It’s worth it.

Doom is just a great and fun game that is in your face. Its an absolute blast to experience, literally. I would rate it the highest possible 9/10. To describe it, it’s genera, is like a Horror filled, Sci-Fi, fast paced, adrenaline fueled Action, first person shooter, with a heart pumping, hard rock guitar rift soundtrack, that keeps you rocking well after you’ve slayed your last foe.

This game excels in the following categories: game play, graphics, sound, and narrative- it actually, surprisingly, has a very good and intriguing story within it. Its not as meat and potatoes as some might expect.

In terms of the tech, its running at a butter smooth 60 frames per second locked under the hood. I don’t remember seeing any dropped frames or screen tearing. It has a very high image quality, boasts crisp textures, and some very good looking environments, making it one of the best looking games made to date.

It’s also loaded with a lot of atmosphere. In terms of game play, the 60 fps translates into some really great and fun moments, mixing fast brutal mele finishers, with fast paced run and gun blazing action.

The game offers some pretty sweet weapons too, especially after being upgraded- for example a heavy machine gun with a sniper scope, that rapidly takes down enemies from a distance fast. And than there is the precision bolt laser gun that basically one shots almost everything.

There’s a lot of great and fun weapons to toy around with, in your arsenal, that you’ll become familiar with. The story itself has some surprises, so definitely pay attention to the lore, it doesn’t seem like it at first, but it slowly gets there, and when it arrives, it was definitely not what I was expecting and had me do a double take about 2/3 in, and say wow.

It was totally out of left field, but it was good. I did not expect that at all. I really don’t have any criticisms for the game, its campaign is direct, and follows a linear path from the beginning to the end.

It offers character and weapon upgrades, that encourage exploring the environments by rewarding you with more power. I guess I don’t know what else to say. I suppose I just couldn’t give the game a perfect 10/10 for the sole reason that although what it does is excellent, besides some unique environments, mele weapons and finishing moves, there wasn’t a lot that hasn’t been done previously in the fps genera before.

That said, this is definitely one of the best looking games on the PS4 today, and If you like Horror, if you like Sci-Fi, if you like Action games, if you like first person shooters, than you can’t go wrong with this game.

It is also a fairly easy game to platinum, I believe it took me a week and a half and two play throughs to platinum it. The game also has a multiplayer mode that isn’t bad, its pretty average, but it isn’t too bad.

DOOM II built on the original DOOM universe. DOOM, of course, was possibly the best FPS of its time, a fast paced, monster laced adventure of epic proportions that takes you from a moonbase on mars to the shores of hell, and beyond.

It was a rip-roaring joyride of carnage that never let up. Doom II is more so, with more levels, traps, monsters, and weapons. The finale wrapped it all up with an unusual, yet titanic struggle. The levels of DOOM II were well designed, and the play is well paced.

When you finish DOOM II, you feel like you’ve really been somewhere, and that it was worth going. As a brief note as to why DOOM III was not the pinnacle of the DOOM universe, it is simple. In a word, Plot.

In two words, lighting. (I’m not going to say the other word, in case children are reading this. But first, the plot. It had one. Big mistake. Its like having a plot in a Porn movie. The less the better.

In the original DOOM, you end up rapelling off Phobos straight into HELL. Now THATS a plot. Its not a big, complicated, rational plot. It’s not even possible. But its PERFECT for this kind of game. you start adding a heavy, boring plot to this type of game, and you just drag it down.

I could say the same of the movie, which was a weak ALIENS rip-off, but I won’t, because this is not a movie review. So don’t get me started, Dwayne. And then there was the lighting. It was touted as the most bitchin thing since sliced elves, the realistic rendering blah blah blah.

Then when you get the game its’ like What lighting effects? there’s NO LIGHT! This has to be the darkest game since Clive Barker’s UNDYING, which was, of course, a fine, and very creepy game in it’s own right.

However, That is not what Doom is about. You buy this game expecting something that at least resembles something in the DOOM line, and all you get is a dimly lit, blood soaked, and lightly haunted Black Mesa.

Not exactly a thrill ride. But anyway, this is not about DOOM III, this is about the pinnacle (so far), of DOOM achievement (along with all the expansion levels) Buy it, play it, and demand a sequel.

Where do you start, when reviewing a gaming legend? I could start with the memories of when this game came out and how truly different, and exciting it was. I remember basically playing doom for 2 years and not really thinking about any other game, because at the time there kind of wasnt any thing in it’s league! It was scary, inventive, and ground breaking.

Who didnt play Doom at the time? I have most versions imaginable, but this one surprised me. If you have an old PC that runs Windows 95, this is the version for you! It runs smoothly on Windows 95 and it has a Front End program that allows you to customize Doom in ways such as what map level to play, what difficulty to set, and even allows for easier multiplayer setup.

It also allows you to use other doom versions, such as the original Doom, and play it from the aforementioned start up program. Definitely a solid addition to any Doom collection and easy enough to use for someone who simply wants to play this gaming legend for the first time!.

I was super surprised when I got this in the mail not only earlier than expected, but it was of such great quality and was ALMOST perfectly preserved! The only flaw was an average scuff from being moved around and opened at some point.

The flopped worked and are in near brand new condition, and the manuals, order forms, catalogue, and even the catalogue addendum was included. I couldnt have been more impressed by this order and Ill be keeping this with me for many, many years.

I bought this for a friend so he can play Doom 3 on his PS4. He watches me play it on my computer and he wanted to give it a go. So I got him this because as far as I know buying this is the only way to play Doom 3 on PS4.

Doom 3 plays just fine. The graphics look like they’ve been updated/improved. Doom 1 plays fine too. But Doom 2 won’t allow you to jump. You can’t change the button settings in controls either which is weird.

You need to be able to jump in Doom 2 to get keys and stuff. So that’s a problem.

This collection of doom games includes Doom, Doom 2, Doom 3, Doom (2016). Keep in mind the 2016 version is on disk while the other 3 are downloadable titles with the included PSN voucher. Doom 64 is not included in the package but is available for purchase in the Playstation Store.

As far as the games go this the same run and gun fast paced experience Doom has offered for years.

Coolest Rubber Ducks I’ve ever seen. My 16 year old loved these though he’s never going to play in the tub, he wanted to keep as collectors items. We bought the whole set. Would recommend for any true Doom fan.

After taking this brace on the water for three trips; All I can say is wow! I can’t believe I went so long without this in my life. I purchased a size medium as I am sitting right around 34/36 waist and it works wonderfully.

I’m wearing it under my G4z wader and G4 pro jacket and it is great. Read some reviews where they were wearing it on the outside and I’m just not sure if that is really practical. Either way, so glad I purchased this belt and hoping to not need a larger size later on.

This belt has saved my life for years. It provides great back support for the bad back plus protection if you fall, keeps from filling up the waders. I think I have been able to enjoy more hours on the water because of this belt.

I have ordered these and the first issue was that the size advertised did not match reality. I wear 43/44 and 44/45 was too small. On top of that the left boot is tighter than the right and I couldn’t even get my leg in it.

Duo hook being fantastic as always sent me another larger size pair. This one fits well, but there are wrinkles in the neoprene in the right boot and I suspect it will be causing blisters and discomfort but I’ll give them a chance first.
