Best Virtual Worlds For Adults (2024 Updated)

While I have yet to play the London Heist portion of thr disk, the remainder of the games were enjoyable and truly shiwcased the potential of the Playstation VR in not just active enjoyment but also passive entertainment such as with the Ocean Dive and Street Ludge experiences.

Those that have sampled those games truly felt like they were there to such an extend that one of my relatives wanted to quit as soon as she saw how realistic it was. A very good introduction to virtual reality to see how well they can take the experience.

VR World is basically five games in one. Some games are better than others. I’ll review each separately. London Heist: The best of the five. This one has a story behind it where you steal a diamond. Graphics are well done for this segment (especially with a PS4 Pro).

Gameplay is simple and mostly consist of you shooting things with the Move controller aside from the brief puzzle segment with stealing the diamond. Too bad it’s only about an hour in length. Danger Ball is basically like Pong except you use your head to direct the paddle to bounce the ball back.

Would have been great for multiplayer, but unfortunately there is none. Scavengers Odyssey has you pilot a mech suit using a DualShock 4. It’s a very hom hum FPS type game. Combat is kind of boring since there are only like three type of enemies and two variety of guns you can use.

VR Luge has you racing down some roads and streets. You control your lateral movements by tilting your head. It’s all time trial based. You can’t really crash in anything unfortunately, you’re simply slowed down.

Ocean Descent isn’t much of a game. You descend into an ocean to look at things and then watch a shark attack you briefly. If you can find the game for cheap, it’s not a bad buy for London Heist and Danger Ball.

Feels like a VR demo disk at times BUT still worth buying if you are a gamer’s club member, after the 20% off and double points (if your not a gamers club member either get a membership before buying or wait for it to come down in price) Had several mini type games on it.

-the deep was a lot of fun the first time through it but you are just stand there looking around and doesn’t have much replay value to it. However it was very immersive and great for demonstrating the VR type of environment.

very entertaining watching people react to it for the first time (my son screamed like a little girl when he saw the shark). -danger ball was ok. was kind of like a glorified version of pong and takes a little time to get used to just turning you head to move your paddle and not your whole body (like when you are tying to hit a soccer ball with your head).

-the street luge was fun (once again took a little bit to get used to moving just the head and not the whole body) -salvage was my favorite so far and does a great job blending the VR with using the regular controller.

Much more in-depth and interactive compared to the other games -London heist (have not had time to try it yet but will update this review after I do) I do not have the move controllers yet so please keep in mind that this review is from the perspective of only having the headset, camera, and regular controller.

There was a time that I laughed at the idea of an all in one VR headset. I’ve tried out the PS VR, the HTC Vive, and the Valve Index. All are fantastic, with great visuals, but they’re also all tethered to a console or a PC.

I didn’t think that the Quest 2 could honestly compete with them, so I never gave it much thought. But I also don’t have the room at the moment for a permanent or even semi-permanent VR setup, so after getting a few gift cards for Christmas, I decided to give the Quest 2 a shot.

I couldn’t be more pleasantly surprised and I’ll try to explain why. Graphically, its not going to be on par with the latest PC VR headsets, simply because they’ve got more memory and graphics power to play with that a PC does, but the Quest doesn’t look bad at all.

Some of the models are lower poly count, but they still look good and are pretty immersive, and thats the important part. That and the fact that you aren’t tethered to anything, since the Quest uses inside-out postional tracking.

There are no sensors to set up. You can take it anywhere, and play anywhere, which is a big plus for me. You just set up your safe play area (its basically a wall that the Quest warns you about if you get too near, so you don’t hit or run into anything when you’re playing.

The Quest actually remembers it too, so if you play in the same area like I do, you set it once and then don’t have to do anything except make sure the area is clear before you start playing. The headset is comfortable enough with the standard strap, although if you want to play for longer periods, you might want to change that up.

There are official straps as well as after market options. Audio quality is good too, even though there are any “headphones”. The audio is actually pumped through the plastic strap connectors toward your ears.

It’s a pretty ingenious solution actually, but it is an open system, so ambient noise is not blocked out. You can use a set of headphones though, as there is a 3. 5mm headphone jack on the side near the USB C charging port.

The handheld controllers are comfortable and sturdy, and use AA batteries. I was concerned that I would be going through a lot of batteries, as most VR controllers are rechargeable, but the batteries in the Quest controllers seem to last a long time (Almost a month and the original ones are still going strong for me) The headset itself is rechargeable, which limits the playtime, but I find that 2-3 hours of play time is more than enough for me.

I find I need a break around 1. 5-2 hours in anyway, but if you want more playtime between charges, there are battery pack options out there (Including the Elite Strap w/battery). The included charger takes about 2-2.

5 hours to completely charge the built in battery from empty to full. Finally, don’t think that buying the Quest is locking you into stand alone VR, as you can actually connect your headset to your PC with a link cable and use it as a PC VR headset, making it one of the best options for getting into VR.

While I hate to give Facebook credit (I refuse to call them Meta), I think the Quest 2 is great, and I couldn’t be happier with my purchase.

The Oculus Quest 2 is a neat glimpse into the future bogged down by a plethora of issues. Privacy concerns withstanding – as Meta is aiming to monitor every movement and facial expression one makes whilst using the device – there are many practical problems with the design of the device itself.

It only has 3 different IPD settings, meaning that anyone whose IPD falls in between or outside of the presets will have an issue with blurring vision and an unclear image. This was a huge part of what I disliked about my experience with it, as it gave me significant headaches and visual distortion well after stopping use of the device.

For clarity’s sake, I used it for about 30 minutes at a time, once a day for a few days in a row. Many people tend to complain about feeling motion sickness when using these devices and while I did feel a little goopy in the gut, I didn’t enjoy the sensation of motion enough to get to where this was a serious issue for me.

I grew up playing video games regularly and still do occasionally, so it was entertaining to see how I could interact with games in a 3D space. That being said, none of the games felt very satisfying, and these days if I want to play a video game I certainly don’t want to be strapped into an uncomfortable near-eye projector to be fully engaged in the experience.

The headstrap is a well-documented nightmare and it’s absurd that they charge extra for a higher-quality one instead of changing out the one included. They finally added a silicone cover to the padding around the eyes after countless complaints about the foam irritating people’s skin, and I’m not surprised as it feels kind of like fine sandpaper to the touch.

What would have been the most relaxing experiences were dulled by low-resolution image quality (on a high-speed connection, no less) and in the case of multiplayer games, a disturbing amount of young players – well below the recommended age for using the device in the first place.

It’s a shame that parents don’t monitor their kids better to prevent this from happening and instead slap them into a device that will invariably detriment their developing sense of balance and spatial recognition.

Further still, it is disappointing that Facebook (now rebranded as Meta) has done so little to mitigate these issues. Ultimately, perhaps this product is merely not for me. However, I would recommend against it to anyone who is looking to use it for relaxation and absolutely insist that nobody use this for long periods as it can be dangerous – as is stated in the health and safety information included with the device.

I’m very impressed with this headset! I wrestled with whether to pay $100 more for double the storage capacity, but after perusing apps in the Oculus store and averaging app sizes, I determined there was too little value in that.

Down the road, if I get REALLY into VR in general, I might wind up regretting that decision, but I honestly think that would be the only thing I’d regret about this device. Oculus was experiencing some kind of server issue that prevented me from completing registration and setup right away, so it was about 4 hours after I unboxed it that I was able to use it.

And boy, was I blown away! I still have a VR headset that requires a phone be stuck in it, but I haven’t used it in a while for just that reason. This one, of course, doesn’t need that, and the resolution is really, really good.

Your IPD (Inter-pupillary distance), or the distance between your eyes, can be accommodated by selecting from 3 different widths. I read one review that said the maximum is 68mm, but their IPD was 72.

In that case, the image will appear blurry. For that reason, I suggest checking your IPD before you purchase. What’s in the box is simple, the headset, two controllers (with batteries), a spacer for those who wear glasses and a silicone piece that makes it comfortable to wear against your face.

It’s very well balanced and doesn’t feel heavy to me, but there are optional head straps you can get if you find it too front-heavy. I also like the passthrough feature that lets you see your real-world environment if/when you need to.

I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and immersiveness of the sound, but I will probably get some ear buds soon so I can get a fuller volume level (I usually have the volume on about 6-7). But it sounds great.

The ‘Home’ environment, which is set up like a house or apartment, is really cool, and there are several different designs available. I found the battery life, stated as about two hours, to be pretty accurate, but I bought a 10-foot USB cable so that I could have it plugged in and playing while it’s charging (yes, you can use it fully while it’s charging).

There is a head strap available with a place for an optional battery to extend use time without worrying about a cable, but that doesn’t seem necessary to me, at least not at this point. I just got done using it, and I was in VR for about 3 1/2 hours, and battery life was still 82%.

So far, I have used it for probably 20 hours total since I’ve had it, and the controller batteries are still at 100%. I’m sure that depends on what you’re doing, though. I have watched a couple of movies, and with the ability to have a curved screen (or flat if you prefer) that views even larger than my 60″ TV, it’s just amazing.

I’ve also played a few games, watched some videos of dancers, concerts, and awesome, immersive tours of places like Switzerland, Italy, the Matterhorn, Great Lakes, under-sea stuff and so many more. All of it has been awesome.

And so far, I have found enough good, free content that I haven’t gotten around to purchasing anything yet! Another effective feature is the voice control. You can do almost anything using voice commands, including powering the device off.

I haven’t explored that feature too deeply yet, but I have started and stopped apps and games, checked local time and weather and performed several other functions just by telling it what I want. You just double-press the ‘Oculus’ button to get it to listen for voice commands One complaint I know many will have, is that setting up the device REQUIRES a Facebook account.

BUT, you can set it so that your FB profile info, including your profile name, will not be revealed in VR if you happen to do some multi-person thing, and neither is your Oculus username revealed to your FB contacts, so that doesn’t bother me at all.

The only thing I wish, and this is so minor it’s really almost petty, but I do wish it came in black. That isn’t even worth deducting stars over. Overall, I just love it, and I highly recommend it!.

First and foremost, this is a great *visual* quality headset kit, keyword being visual. I’m not going to rag on it because honestly it’s pretty good BUT onto what I wish I was told before buying. There isn’t a lot of information in regards to this headset variation (Vive Cosmos non-Elite) just floating around online but I hope to remedy some of that in this review.

One major issue I truly find annoying; this headset uses cameras that pick up the light of the controller ring and couples that with the sensor data in the controller and the floor height to calculate the position of your “hands” in virtual space; the problem is, if you take away ANY part of that calculation and your virtual hand position will jitter/twitch or in some cases vanish entirely.

This may be common knowledge to some but it wasn’t readily available at the time of purchase. One thing I will touch on but not go into detail with (way too much to type) is the Cosmos issue with occlusion since it’s camera based, you can find that in any review video online.

To remedy this, if you look this headset up online you’ll probably find someone talking about using Base Station 1. 0/2. 0’s (both HTC and Valve’s SteamVR lighthouses work) along with the Vive Pro/Valve Index controllers for seamless controller tracking, this isn’t the case for the non-Elite variant of the Cosmos.

In order to get Base Station tracking you need to purchase an External Tracking faceplate from HTC for $200 along with compatible external tracking based controllers since the included controllers will no longer function properly.

Which brings me to what I REALLY wish someone told me; just save up and buy the Valve Index full kit, that is only if you want out of the box performance. I’m going to list out my personal recommendations for your own kit to get significantly better cost/quality ratio vs the Index for no more than $200 over the cost of the Valve Index kit.

My first attempt into the VR world – I bought a heap of games that were the best of the best, got ready and when I got it I was so excited when I unpacked it. Followed the instructions and put it on, and I will admit the setup for this was wonderful, quick and effortless that pretty much anyone can follow the instructions and get it up and running within 30mins.

However, the first thing I got when I put on the headset, and booted up the application(s) was an extremely blurry picture that within 10mins started to give me headaches. I followed a number of guides on YouTube and websites, managed to improve the viewing experience a little, but the blurriness was there and within 30mins the headaches would easily come back.

We are not talking about a little blurry here either, we are talking like you need glasses type blurry where if this is how you were living your life you would be off to see someone about it pretty quickly.

So, after finally doing some hunting for the specific issues, it works out a lot of the “positive” reviews just seem to miss out a big flaw in this setup (and the elite). The sweet spot (the areas of “best” viewing) is almost none existent in the Cosmos.

The main reason for this is due to the lens, and also the flip top, which keeps the view port further away from your face. You can, in fact, prove this some by pushing against the Cosmos so that it is closer to your face, and the graphic improves big time.

You can also remove the face padding, and again the proof is there that the design of the Cosmos is a big flaw. To the extent that I have requested Return because it isn’t an enjoyable experience at all.

The game play is poor because of extremely low visual clarity. I am sad, not only was this my leap into finally getting into VR, finally able to explorer what everyone was raving about, but it also means I have bought a heap of games which I can’t refund.

So, I wouldn’t recommend this headset for anyone who likes to be able to see non-blurry pictures.

So this is my first ever VR kit. So I have no frame of reference to compare with but I am hoping that what I write will be invaluable to new starters. I am going to start with the bad: 1. The mic is absolutely pathetic on this – I have been doing some research and it is pretty dismal on most VR headsets so don’t let this distract you from making your purchase.

Just purchase a separate mic or rely on your current headset. 2. Setup was painful to say the least – I had a few conflicts with USB controllers (I basically ran out?) and as a result missed a major part of the setup process.

That being said, it is not intuitive so make sure you take set up slowly and methodically no matter how excited you are to try it out. 3. PB sales – most of the time they are very good but the sales person failed to mention I needed base stations even though I queried about this being my first ever VR.

There is a note in the item description on the PB website (so they are in no way remiss) but I believe it could be easily missed. Suffice to say, make sure you have another $280 to spare to buy a couple of base stations, which you were definitely need.

If you need hand controllers, they are extra too. 4. Vive customer service is abysmal. Because of the need to use my own headset (see mic comments), I remove their ear phones (which are okay by the way but not noise cancelling).

There support pages advise to contact their customer support for proprietory brackets to attached in place of the earphone brackets on the headset head band. So far it has taken a good 2 weeks since first contact with four messages saying how valuable I am and they will be in contact soon.

Seems a lot of effort (and expecting $$) for a couple of pieces of plastic. Since then I have used some velcro cable tidies that seem to work well. Now the good stuff: 1. If this is your first venture into VR, there is no going back.

If you are a gamer, these will definitely improve your gaming experience. I understand this device is not top end but worked perfectly on my 5th Gen CPU, 1080ti GPU PC. While I have a load of gripes, I am still giving this four stars.

I suspect a lot of my problems are not going to be problems faced by others. I don’t regret buying this device and I don’t regret shopping with PB Tech.

Had this for about 2 weeks now and very happy as a first time VR owner. Set-up is was actually easier than i thought, wall mounts for base stations are primo( make sure you line them up with ya studs in the wall).

I find myself needing more space as i move around a lot even with a space of over 3mx3m. At first i wasn’t use to having a cord still being attached to the head set got rather annoying to a point but after some fine tuning you start to not notice, i also have the option of having the cord above on the ceiling VERY handy.

controllers a good though side grip buttons can be quite light to the touch tend to drop objects a lot in games ill probably end up getting the index knuckles at some point as its more orientated to my play style.

luckily having a beefy PC everything runs as smooth as you’d like. id give an over all 4. 5/5 stars personally, you won’t go wrong with this bad boi vive and yes comfy as well!!.

VR is an amazing technological breakthrough. Any headset is better than nothing and the experience is unlike anything I have experienced gaming in my life. I don’t want to beat on this product too hard, but there are several things I would do differently had I been in charge of the design: Pros: – Great FOV, Resolution – Includes IPD adjustment – Great for small/limited space environments (no lighthouses) – A few months in of heavy use and still going strong – Really like the modular design: can pop off earphones, face plate, forehead plate, reroute audio cable, etc.

– While the head tracking isn’t 100% reliable (especially in small/obstructed areas), I found it reliable and usually not noticeable. 98-99% reliable Cons: – The controllers absolutely drink batteries.

I feel like they should be rechargeable as standard. – The head tracking is a bit silly: after starting up it will tell me to look around my play area so it can start tracking. I have found that it is ALWAYS faster to just re-run the room setup rather than look around your room like it tells you to, which seems totally backwards.

– The face foam is cheap and degrades quickly. – The unit gets fairly hot after extended play periods (and therefore – sweaty). On some level this is unavoidable, and to be fair, I have pretty terrible A/C.

However, beware: the aforementioned sweatiness can create a bacterial environment and cause eye infections. Most of the parts are removable and washable, the cheap face mounted foam however worries me.

– Had a bit of a scare with the controllers not working for a while (turns out they had drained every battery in the house, and I just needed more). When I actually went to look at warranty/repair/options it seemed like HTC’s stance was: you’re SOL unless you have a commercial contract.

I wouldn’t even mind paying for repair if it were an option. It has me a bit worried long term for this unit – if it ever bites the dust I could be out 1000 dollars. It would seriously ease my mind if HTC had a repair program in place for consumers.

let me start this off by saying im not new to VR. i have owned a vive for 2 years and the vive pro since launch, before that i owned a dk1. the vive was great. it felt like a maker product. ya there were bugs but the community was close and took care of most of them.

it felt like a normal early adopter tax. my only complaint was the 15 minute set up time before every vr session. oh that light house isnt detecting anything. oh this controller forgot it existed, my 100$ want that it didnt want the touchpad to function.

things like this really soured the mood for me but i understood the idea of early adopter and could roll with it. so i was over the moon when i read about a higher resolution PROFESSIONAL VIVE. surely this product will have better support and fewer glitches.

well 7 months later and the vive pro is going to be replaced with a rift or a samsung odyssey. the problem is the persistant, undocumented, unplayable, bethesda esque bugs. everything from audio glitching out and sounding as if it was being played through kanye west’s abused computer or audio options not playing anything at all to resolution bugs where nothing scales at all from normal vive resolution.

worse is that it suffers from every bug that the vive has as well! As we all know the support team is less than useless even for a 1000$ plastic piece of junk like this one. the worst part is that if it was consistently bad in the same or similar ways i could get used to it, work around it, maybe even find solutions but between valve/htc’s garbage support, the inconsistency and the miniscule user base i can’t justify trying to make this product work anymore.

i just want to play simple game. i want to be able to log into elite dangerous and see something amazing, not a blurry mess i want to log into vrchat and hear my friends, not be ear ****** by a dank meme clip video because the audio is messed up.

i want to be able to play skyrim and not watch my hands randomly disappear. TL:DR vive pro is the worst 1000$ i have spent on my pc set up yet.

I was a little late to the technology, but knew it was something I really wanted. I was originally looking at the regular Vive but there was a shortage, so I decided to spend the extra money and go for the Pro package.

I do not regret it in the least. I have already spent a couple hundred hours using it and I have to say that it was worth it. For me, it is more of a value for the money vs. the amount of time I have used it.

I will be using it so much more for the foreseeable future. It is also a hit with everyone that has tried it. Games like Beatsaber make it very accessible to those that are not gamers. There are many experiences that make people go Wow! I also use it to work out, as there is a growing list of titles to get you moving.

Keep in mind that there can be issues that come up, as it is powered by your computer. I have had to research some issues I was having and find solutions for them. As it turns out, the issues I had were on the computer side and not with the Vive system.

So be sure to have someone available to help if you have little computer knowledge. Also be advised that your computer has to be a decent system with a good graphics card. In short, the HTC Vive Pro is a blast.

There are lots of games available with new ones coming to market daily. I still have not played through all the games I purchased. If it will not break the bank, I would highly recommend this system.

So much to do and explore, you will not regret it.

I’d like to recommend, but at $1,000 for the equipment I would expect longer durability with the sensors. I’ve noticed other reviews and posts regarding this issue being a problem. Otherwise, if the sensors aren’t fried, it’s a good system to have if you enjoy VR gaming itself, or even VR sim racing in Assetto or iRacing / sim flight in DCS, etc.

First time vr user. playing this alot and getting a good workout. highly recommended. very immersive and the all the kids loved it

we bought the oculus after hearing from the advertisements that this is great for the elderly. We did not find that it was at all easy to use. We will see the world in other ways than traveling with the help of the Oculus.

I’d read a number of articles saying that Vive’s Pro series of VR equipment was compatible with Linux via SteamVR. That certainly doesn’t appear to be the case with the VivePro2. After hours of messing around, the Vive setup app kept failing because it “couldn’t find steam” even when it was literally launched through Steam.

I payed +$2k for this headset, which means I’m committed at this point, so I guess I’ll be forced to use Windows to make it work. The thought of having my home network exposed to that horrible OS literally makes me feel dirty, but as the lesser of two evils, I guess it’s still better than having Facebook spy on you via Oculus.

Still extremely disappointing though. The next day I went to town, bought another SSD, and installed Microsoft’s s***-tier spyware operating system on it. The Vive setup app completed and connected to all the VivePro2 peripherals, however when it came to room calibration, SteamVR couldn’t see any connected headset or controllers.

That afternoon I spent about 4 hours talking with Vive tech support who had me: 1) Reinstall Vive Console 2) Reinstall SteamVR 3) Turn off, unplug, and reconnect the Vive 4) Purge the USB drivers from SteamVR 5) Multiple system reboots 6) Dump and send them detailed system logs from both SteamVR and ViveConsole They were pleasant enough to deal with, but in the end they had no idea what was happening, and had to escalate the problem to their R&D department, telling me that they would get back to me within 24 hours (which they did not).

I received my VivePro2 on Wednesday morning, and six days later I still don’t have a working unit. I really want to like this headset. I really want it to be the VR experience I was hoping for. but sofar it just isn’t.

Perhaps like the redemption story of NoManSky, it will transform into a great product with bug-fixes and future development, but it definately isn’t great right now. In it’s current state of driver and non-spyware system support, this product still isn’t ready for mass consumption (as much as I wish it was).

Given how plug-and-play every other modern gaming peripherals is (under both Linux and Windows), as well as the development of open interchange systems like OpenXR and SteamVR, it really shouldn’t be this hard.

but apparently it is. In summary, I would say “buyer beware. ” I’m sure you want everything this second-gen headset is promising (I know I did), but my recommendation is definately to hold off purchasing this until HTC get their s*** together.

I need to even these reviews up. I’ve worked my way through the vives. The OG the vive pro and now this the vive pro 2. I’ve read many negative reviews and as many positive so lets get this straight.

this is an awesome HMD. I don’t know why anyone is struggling with software install, it is easy and has thus far worked flawlessly. You start steam VR vive console starts. you end steam VR vive console closes? too easy.

I have 2. 8k hours in Vr( yes 2800) so trust me when I tell you this is awesome. NO screendoor! If you know VR then you know to turn your head to look at things not your eyes so the sweet spot complaint is irrelevant.

The sound is a little bassier than the pro and takes some getting used to but fine. The mic is nowhere near as bad as made out in some pro reviews. they are just expecting too much me thinks. You definitely have to tone down the default SS in steam VR from 150%.

It depends on how fast you run the headset. For example in iracing I run 120hz and SS at 90%. still very detailed and no dropped frames whatsoever. Other games you can leave it at 90hz and really bump it up SS to 150% and beyond.

this is all assuming you have a beast of a computer of course. if you don’t then why are you buying this in the first place? Get some cardboard and put your phone in it cheapskate. The complaint about the price is laughable.

VR is expensive. If you have the 1. 0 base stations and original controller’s like I do then its a good upgrade from the pro. until the Varjo aero gets here of course.

This is my first experience with VR and overall quite positive. The FOV isn’t quite what I was expecting it to be but for the games I mostly play anyway it’s not really a complaint since it does feel more like wearing a helmet.

Aside from it being a little bit finicky to get the right adjustments for the best clarity I’ve been quite happy with the experience. I find in order to get the clearest image I sort of need the screen facing a bit more downward which is a little difficult with the range the headband is able to adjust, but once things are set up well it’s fantastic.

120hz is great in the games I’m able to achieve it in, I don’t find any “screen door” effect; however in extremely contrasted scenes like menus there is a fair amount of bloom from strong light sources, but not too noticeable in game.

Since this is my first VR experience I’m not exactly qualified to go into the nitty gritty, but I highly recommend this headset especially for Sim Racers to get that extra bit of immersion and really put yourself in the seat.

If like escape rooms, this game is for you! Even if you’ve never been to one, this game will transport you. No special equipment needed, just your smartphone! The game comes with the cardboard virtual reality set, and only minimal assembly is required.

This game was my first experience with virtual reality and I was blown away! It comes with two scenarios: Submarine, and Behind Enemy Lines, both of which, will have you scrambling to solve the puzzles and find the next clue.

Like real life escape rooms, you can only play through each scenario once, but the exhilaration you get from the hour of gameplay is like nothing else. If you love real life escape rooms, get this game.

If you’ve never been, but you’ve always wanted to try it, get this game!.

Fun game. Not too ridiculously difficult (though I’ve only played the first 2 rooms and I assume they get harder). The clues are good. My only criticism is that there doesn’t seem to be anything to do if you get really truly stuck other than google for the solution.

I therefore rate it slightly lower than the Exit the Game series. On the other hand, Exit is hard to play with more than 2 players, whereas this one is more suitable for larger numbers. Overall really good and I would definitely buy the extension packs.

This game was much harder to play than I thought it would be. Instructions weren’t helpful and we certainly weren’t having fun even after we went to the website that walked us through the game. I donated the game without ever finishing the other two missions.

A real disappointment considering our family loves strategy games.

I’m so new to VR and this is the game that got me going. Love being impressed and this one has it in, especially first time trying it out. If you like to share crazy wild experiences with your friends this is the game to put on.

I loved Arkham too but very short game, lots of nice surprises in it. Robinson Journey I was actually getting sick moving around and the play got really boring, I would continue to finish the game but I just couldn’t feel that motion sickness anymore.

VR World, fun, but damn so short so this is really best game for me so far because I like to share and this one is for sharing. Get your friend over and set up a camera while his playing. Lot of laughs afterwards.

Can’t wait to get Resident Evil VR in my hand, looks promising. Right now Rush Blood is so cheap it’s a must for collection, very recommended.

I didn’t think that I would enjoy horror games that much, but Until Dawn: Rush of Blood was well worth the purchase. This game is great to show off VR to your friends, it will definitely make you flinch and might make you scream.

I was worried about simulation sickness, especially on the fast roller coaster portions of the game, but I didnt experience any simulation sickness when playing this game. Put this one on your “must purchase” list for Playstation VR.

Terrifyingly fun and you feel completely immersed. It has great jump scares too! Got some hysterical laughs watching friends and family replay the same levels I played that had terrified me. So much fun!! I would say I lucked out since I got the game on sale via PlayStation store for $5.

99. Worth the full price of $20.

This is my third headset, the others being an OG (original) Vive and an Index. So that is what I am comparing with. My first impressions of the VP2 were decidedly mixed; however, after several ah ha moments, I’ve come understand better how to bring out the best aspects of this HMD and now really like it First, in order to use this headset to its full capacity, you need to run it in Ultra (or Extreme) mode–which requires a minimum of an RTX (i.

e. 20 series) nVidia card. I have a 2080Ti, which fits the bill, but if you have an older card, you will definitely miss out on its full sharpness. So keep that in mind. The only reason I would buy this card with anything less, would be if I were getting it for wireless (which can’t go up to Ultra resolution anyway), or you plan to upgrade your card soon.

To ensure you know what resolution you are running in, be sure to turn off the automatic resolution mode. Also, the Vive software defaults to 150% supersampling, which is crazy high and will rob you of performance.

Do yourself a favor and set it to 100% (2448×2448) which is the native resolution. Only after starting there should you try raising it higher to see what benefits you get. I find that 100% to maybe 120% is all that is generally needed at the resolution of these screens, and I think you will find that too.

I also find that by default, the screen is kind of dim, but that can be largely alleviated by setting EnableBrightnessControl to false in default. vrsettings, which turns off automatic brightness control (which I really don’t care for).

Beyond this, the performance of this headset can be stunning. The main reason for getting this headset is for sims like XPlane, Assetto Corsa, Elite Dangerous, Star Wars Squadrons, VTOL, etc. or for titles where the resolution and increased field-of-view add immensely to the experience, like Subnautica, Alyx, or Skyrim (but only if you’ve upgraded to 4K textures).

These sort of titles are where this headset shines. For lowest-common-denominator titles like Beat Saber, you won’t find this headset adds much though; however, if you couldn’t before, you will be able to play them at 120hz now (providing you system has the power), which can increase smoothness substantially.

Even older titles like The Blu can re-impress you once again. There are a few compromises with this headset; however, I consider all of them relatively minor. Sound is average (though by no means bad), the microphone won’t win any awards, and there is some glare in high-contrast situations (like white on black text)–though hardly evident while actually playing most games).

It also gets kind of warm after extended use. So I took a star off for those things. Still, compared to my Index (which I now moved to a second room for coop gaming), it is a truly nice upgrade in visuals, almost eliminating the screen door effect that has always been an obvious shortcoming to VR.

Is it expensive? That depends on what you are comparing it with. Most will compare it with the G2 and the Pimax 8KX, and pricewise its right in between, so to me its probably priced where it belongs.

In the end, I can definitely recommend this HMD; however, it is clearly not for the casual gamer, or person who isn’t willing to futz with it a bit. I think of it more like one of those workshop tools that takes a bit of time to learn and adjust before its capabilities can be fully realized.

If you’re ok with that, I think you’ll come to really like this headset too.

Pros: The headsets best feature is the resolution, the clearest and sharpest headset I’ve used to date (used Vive, Index and Quest 2). Tracking is best in industry of course. Very comfortable, 0 light leak.

100% recommend if you value resolution over sound/mic because it’s bad. Cons: Bad points and how to fix them:The standard face padding is too thick and ruins the FOV (letterbox view). Change face cushion to thin (6mm) from Amazon.

Then you will achieve the 120 degree FOV. 2 choices for sound/mic, remove the built-in headphones with screwdriver to use external headset+mic instead. Or use Equalizer APO software to improve sound but NOT the mic.

Mic is awful and can’t be fixed. The software required to run along side SteamVR (Vive Console) controls the resolution and ignores your settings. Disable automatic resolution in VIVE folder to stop the resolution changing on the fly.

Can be done for auto brightness too. (check Reddit for instructions by searching “vive variable automatic lightning”)Vive Console software conflicts with Corsair Virtuoso Wireless headset in Wireless mode.

To fix this issue you must already have Vive Console running then in Task Manager, look for “Vive Cosmo Settings” or “Vive Pro Settings” and end this task and it will fix the issue. Headset is quite heavy.

Personally it does not bother me.

Really good fun not completed it yet but early indications is its just what I thought it would be. The only thing that a bit odd odd is tho fact you stay put in the ring but this is a good idea as you dont want want to knock out a family member or put a fist through your telly!!.

I have received my creed boxing game but on the description on here it doesnt mention anything about it being VR play so therefore I cant play it so thats why Im giving a not so good review as its a waste of money.

Love the game it has great graphics, and helps you get in better shape.

Bethesda allow MODS for their games, which blows them wide open; play without, then add a MOD or two for a second play through. Don’t expect to be done with the game in 30 hours, this is more like 30 weeks.

I have come across the series quite late as I’ve been busy with other titles, and I can’t see that I’ll be done with this one and trying Fallout 3 before the end of the year. This is a fighting and building game and not only do you follow quests, you can upgrade weapons, armour and craft chemical based ‘potions’, throwables and mines.

I’ve not used a chemistry station yet, as everything can be found in the world. The power suit is available early on and a few can be found just waiting to be claimed – though the fusion cores to power it aren’t prolific.

Building settlements can be a bit samey, so I try to use different materials and layouts, colour themes, etc but what works is usually repeated. Google for any advice on MODS, and GOTY has selected ones so you can start right away if you choose.

The Fallout franchise goes back to the old text based 3rd person action game days. It really took off in popularity when Bethesda took over the project and introduced Fallout 3 as a 1st person shooter with great improvements to richly textured, open-world playing map that allowed you to go and do whatever you wanted and not have to strictly follow a scripted game.

You had a choice of character types to build from a good-guy melee fighter to a bad-girl sniper. There were various factions you could ally with or fight against and a post-atomic war wasteland full of mutated creatures to fight.

Whereas Fallout 3 was set in Washington DC, Fallout 4 is set in the Boston area. The graphics are even better, with textures and scenery that are amazing. The city scape is a maze of crumbled buildings with winding streets that are densely packed with a new challenge around every corner.

There are new factions added to the old and a new story line to investigate from Vault 111 where you awaken to find your child has been taken and it’s up to you to venture out and find him in a destroyed and dangerous world.

But, before you do, there is another feature to the game. You can also use workshops to build structures, furnishings, defenses, water and food resources to create safe settlements for people to inhabit and earn money for you.

You can craft better versions of the guns, melee weapons, and armor that you find. You can craft useful chemicals and medicine to heal yourself or companions who join you in taming the wasteland. Beside the basic, main quest, you will constantly find side-quests to assist other groups along the way and be sent on missions where you will find specialty “legendary” items that benefit you in your future battles.

There is a huge following to the game with a presence on social media sites including full walkthough gameplay videos on Youtube. The game is available for PC, XBox One, and Playstation 4. The PC version requires a high-end fast gaming PC that can be more expensive than the game consoles but at the top end can outperform them.

It would also require a large amount of memory and an expensive video card, but you can enter “console commands” via keyboard to interact with the game the way the developers do in creating special items or unlocking items that would normally be out of your current level of difficulty.

The gameplay on the consoles is very good with graphics set to less than extremely high settings. The game is a mix of shooter and role-playing games. It offers a little of both worlds in visually stunning and entertaining way.

It isa hugely popular game for a reason, it is pure fun and well worth the money.

I bought this because it has dropped recently to sub 5 if you shop around. For that money you get a helluva lot of content. I am not the biggest fan of the Fallout games, much preferring the swords and sorcery of the Elder Scrolls.

I have really been enjoying what I’ve played so far, the base building and collecting all sorts of random crap is probably my favourite part – the combat is what ruins it for me, no matter how good YOU are at aiming a gun you can still miss some shots unless you use your limited VATS but I like my combat to be more instantaneous.

Give me a sword to swing at someones head anyday. There is no denying the workmanship that has gone into creating a believable Post apocalyptic world and graphically on the Xbox one X it looks as good as on the pc for me (My pc can’t do 4k yet) you will often be surprised at how colourful the world is with some really beautiful skies.

I will profess and this is my problem with the game, if you don’t have much spare time then its really hard to do anything. Took me about an hour to get in game in the first place and it can take a good 10 – 15 minutes to even arrive at a story location, and then you need to add on time to complete it.

Luckily you can save whenever you like and carry on from that exact point, otherwise I would not be able to play it at all – I am lucky if I can grab 1 hour a day for gaming these days. If you’ve never played Fallout and have got a lot of time on your hands, you could do a lot worse than spending a fiver on picking this up for your hard earned money you will be getting a lot of hours of play as long as you can get to grips with the combat system.

Never having used a VR game before I am spell bound by the game it’s a once in a lifetime experience ,flying without an airplane (great) !!!!! Very easy to get drawn into experimenting with the game.

You find it hard to remember you’re not actually at a 1000 feet in the clouds looking down.

A Good game that is similar in style to Nintendo’s pilot wings. Good multiplayer and decent single player. Good use of VR and no motion sickness.
