Being new to the DnD scene, as well as becoming a Dungeon Master, I definitely needed to have a guide of sorts because, yeah, it was a lot that I needed to learn. This book has it all! Everything you need to know, it’s right here.

Granted, it was A LOT of reading and A LOT to take in, but it helped me out tremendously! It’s also nice to have a hard copy so I can flip to wherever I need to go and not need to be on my computer (I’m a bit old school, haha) Love BAM! a lot! So glad it’s close to my house and I can go there in my free time.

This is the last of the core three rulebooks for the 5th Edition of Dungeons & Dragons. This is a great book in my honest opinion, however, you really only need this if you are a huge nerd like myself.

What I mean by this is the following: if you want ideas for creating a multiverse, an adventure, a non-player character, a creature, a spell, a magic item, or really anything then this is a good book for you.

These ideas can then be placed into a tabletop role-playing game and hopefully, there’s a good time to be had. Additionally, the book has advice, rules options, random tables, and even sample maps at the end.

Lastly, there are about a hundred pages devoted entirely to magic items and treasure, so if that’s what you were looking for (you know who you are), then this is also a good book for you.

What can I say that has not been said? This is a classic and a must-have for every DM. I’d even go so far as to say every fantasy writer and narrative game designer should own a copy to peruse. It’s a classic for a reason.

I was never a big fan of the original like so many who bought this game (though I lived through it as a kid and remember how exciting it all was), but despite only having basic knowledge of the general cast and plot points, I was blown away and really enjoyed the remake.

It did a great job of fleshing out the world and characters in a way that was clearly intended by the developers in 1997, but couldn’t be done due to the lack of resources and capabilities of that generation.

The combat is fast, fluid, and fun. The characters are all interesting. The visuals are top notch. The music is great. The cutscenes are awesome. The acting is well executed. The only real knock against the game are the side quests, which are downright boring, and do little more than extend overall playtime and act as pointless filler.

That’s really about it. The main game is fantastic, and I’m looking forward to the next part in the remake series.

I really have to say how impressive this game was. From start to finish the experience was flawless, from its amazing battle system transforming the classic ATB into the ideal standard for modernization of what Final Fantasy should potentially be.

The voice acting was perfectly executed, graphically superb with the rendered scenes alongside game content these transitions from scenes to gameplay were absolutely seamless. There is hardly anything that this title failed to deliver, but the learning curve may take time to truly master however as you reach the final acts you will definitely be feeling the need to jump on into the hard mode or even just doing a second playthrough in general.

Amazingly addictive combat with each character feeling uniquely different and overall diversity with each character bringing something to the table. Lastly the boss encounters were the most amazing pieces of content offering a true spectacle of epic performance.

The pacing is also near perfect, with some sidequests feeling a bit tacked on but when all said and done most of it all works out for the better, that being either character development or aiming to obtain optional boss encounters includes classic summons.

I give Final Fantasy VII Remake- 4. 8 out 5.

The original Final Fantasy VII is one of my favorite games of all time so when I heard of the remake I was excited, but also skeptical – especially since I heard that turned based combat would be removed.

However, this is a very well done remake. The new combat system feels fresh and really makes the nuances of each character stand out. Many side quests and characters from the original game have been reimagined and it’s added a lot more humanity to the people you interact with.

My only critique of the game has to do with how tedious it can be to obtain all of the skill books for each character. This usually involves replaying several acts multiple times. In some ways this is nice because you really do have to play the game differently on the Hard difficulty level, but it can also be a bit of a slog.

Overall, this is still one of my favorite games this year. PSA – You may have heard about copies of the deluxe edition not having the soundtrack. I was one of the unlucky ones who had this happen. When I bought the game I thought that the soundtrack was digital.

By the time I realized it was supposed to be a physical soundtrack I already had the game for weeks and didn’t think Best Buy would believe me if I said something. In short, make sure your deluxe edition is complete.

This is a fantastic game. The common comparison is to Fallout but I think that’s really just people drawing the line between it and Obsidian’s last major title. This game is far more similar to the classic space RPG Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.

Conversations feel natural and well-structured, characters are compelling, varied, and have their own depth and personality that make them feel like real people. The story (at least to the point I’ve played) is fun and engaging with clever writing, head-scratching conundrums, and far more giggles than you’d expect.

Gunplay is well-crafted, feels balanced and provides several types of weapon or damage to optimize your attack to each encounter. Graphics (on Xbox One X), while sometimes muddy on less-important or distant objects, are great overall and enhance the immersion of this first-person locked game.

FPS is steady and smooth with few hiccups. All in all the only issues I’ve had center around a clunky, sometimes hard to understand menu system and controls limited by the platform. Three functions on X that can’t be rebound is too many, I don’t want to get my gun out every time I talk to somebody, change regions, or open doors.

In conclusion : if a romp in space with new friends along the way and plenty of people to shoot, make peace with, or swindle along the way sounds like your kind of game – give this one a shot!.

I really thought this game was going to be for me but I ended up struggling to finish it. I love sci fi and I love Fallout NV so mixing those two I thought would be a recipe for a great game. Everything feels so have baked with this one, I really expected them to try and shake up the formula but they rarely tried to.

The game is plagued with a Marvel like “joke every 5 minutes even at inappropriate times” that really rubs me the wrong way. It’s okay to break up a series story with some lighthearted moments SPRINKLED in there but when there’s serious moments and the scene gets deflated because a character has to make some childish joke just ruins the scene for me.

I don’t know, I’d much rather play any Fallout game than this and I’m definitely looking forward to Starfield!!.

I was looking for a good game to play on my Switch that I received for Christmas. The reviews for this one came up pretty good and it wasn’t wrong. This is a good RPG game for both first timers or advanced players.

You can choose difficulty settings if you were in there for the story or for the action. Open world concept that allows you to free roam all over the maps. My only complain, probably based on the switch, is that the load time can get long (a minute or two) when you load a new map (entering a new city, or entering a building).

But that’s not too bad as it will allow your eyes to get some rest. Got it on sale for boxing day, so really cannot beat the value !!.

MV for the Switch is an excellent, if far less expansive version of the same software for the PC. The controls on Switch are good once you get the hang of them, the interface, even with the small print, is easy to use, and after a brief get-to-know-you period, this software offers you the same thing it has offered for years in other forms – the opportunity to publish your own game for other people to play.

In spite of the lack of all of the incredible expansion and plugins that you can get for the PC version of RMMV, the Switch gives you the opportunity to put your game in the hands of basically anyone else who has a Switch – this is easier said than done, thanks to the clunky game search features of the game sharing and uploading piece of this software, but the people who take the time to get their name out there online seem to be getting a lot of traffic to their games, which is really cool – it’s exactly why this product exists.

If you’re interested in giving amateur publishing a go and like 2d RPGs (or really anything that is 2d rpg adjacent) this is the product for you.

This game is exactly as described. It allows you to customize most aspects of the game you create, (weapons, characters, levels), but only within the confines of the developers vision. I’ve played older PC versions of the series, and they allow more customization through mods and community support.

If this is a game you’re interested in, I would recommend one of those versions instead. They obviously lack the mobility, but have fewer limitations on actual game creation.

A game that teaches you to make your own rpg games really fun to watch and play. It goes through the importance of piece placement and map creation. It also has a companion software to playthrough other players’ games that they have built.

This is a great entry to the rpgmaker series. Its great to be able to play games and create them on the go.

There are alot of cutscenes so if you love anime this is the game for you but there’s also a lot of exploring and fighting. The game was one of a kind 15 years ago and it still is. And you are getting four games in one.

It’s a amazing game and will probably be worth lots of money in the future. I mean. hack part is worth 300 hundred dollars now so I sure this is a collectors item.

Great game in terms of game play and story. Not too much grinding to do. Fast pace. Played the original PS2 titles that came in a set of 3 games. Worth a fortune now so bought this because it would be cheaper and less space.

For the most part, the game’s marriage of its supernatural elements with its mundane real-world setting is handled well, even if not all of the references will strike a chord with western gamers. This is despite a wealth of available tools, like a detailed journal and a translation that conveys many of the narrative’s nuances quite well (despite a large amount of grammar and spelling mistakes).

Taishi Zhao himself has access to the Elysium scroll, a mysterious wooden scroll passed along to him by his parents that allows him to slow down time as well as enter the magical world of Elysium at certain story beats.

This is also where players will be able to upgrade their weapons and equipment, and synthesize items using parts collected during the game, with the option of leveling up these abilities for access to even better gear modifications.

Apart from Zhao and his group, however, the region’s remaining citizens don’t seem to have too much time for mystical powers and the like, and are busy with their rural lives. The country’s civil war and political upheaval are frequently referenced, but happen largely off-screen and far away, since Zhao has his own goals to pursue.

Pros : Great game, Fantastic graphics, Wonderful dialogue, Brilliant mechanics, Cons : slightly hard if you don’t know how to strategize. ( you’ll know what I mean throughout the gameplay ) Overall top top game.

The combat is fluid and fun. There is a decent amount of boss fights and side quests. The game reminds me of the original Onimusha without the heavy tank controls. A very underrated game worth giving a chance to!.

Final Fantasy XIV has really kept the content coming and continuously makes the game feel fresh with frequent events and vanity items that are split between grind rewards and cash shop. I love the fact that I can have my character looking cool and unique without delving into the cash shop.

In fact, the best mounts, minions, and costumes are usually exclusively grind-rewarded. I love that about this game, especially as someone who hopped over to Black Desert Online for a time, where cash shop feels like a necessity.

I’m very excited for the next expansion to FF14 and the new race they’re bringing in. I don’t think you could go wrong trying out FF14 if you’re looking to change MMOs or just enter the whole genre. It has a special mentor program where new and returning players get their own chat channel to ask questions and get help with quests from veterans who have signed up to be “mentors.

” The story is engaging, although sometimes you’ll get those unskippable cutscenes in the main campaign that are waaaay too long (we don’t need to read your treatise on why you’re bent on world domination, __insert name here___).

FFXIV A Real Reborn is probably one of the best comeback stories in all of gaming. When it was originally released, it was terrible! One of the worst launches for an MMORPG ever because of how buggy and glitchy it was.

Fast forward two years and the team behind FFXIV gets a second chance, which is unheard of in the video game industry, and releases A Realm Reborn. Now with millions of subscribers and two expansions, the game is a titan in the MMORPG genre.

Stormblood is the latest expansion for Final Fantasy XIV. It features another 10 level increase in the cap, and it also features two new jobs. Red Mage and Samurai. I played both of these jobs and they are definitely fun.

There is also a lot more content in here as well. Basically, if you are already playing FFXIV, then you probably already own Stormblood. If you are thinking about getting Stormblood, then you should definitely take the plunge as the additional content is well worth the asking price.

The digital version has been on sale for around $20 already, but if you want the physical version, and you can find it in stores, you can get the GCU discount on it. It won’t work on the Stormblood card, only the one that comes in a case (which is still just a digital code, FYI).

Final Fantasy XIV Online, is a great “Massively Mutiplayer Online game. ” For anyone looking for a great “MMO” this game definitely has a great deal to offer. With that being said, anyone looking to play this game, and has expectations of it being a polished, beautiful Final Fantasy experience one would come to expect from the franchise, you might not be so impressed.

While the game has a lot of fun, and nostalgic aspects you come to love from the Final Fantasy series, it is far from polished. I play this game between main Final Fantasy titles. For example the cutscenes are rather quick and basic, but the overall story is actually pretty good.

Just not as good as what I would expect from the Final Fantasy series. So in short, the game itself is leaps and bounds better than most other games, but as far as a Final Fantasy, it falls in the “average” category.

These are two of my favorite games, Ive Spent hours playing these classic games. Final Fantasy 4 is my Favorite, first FF game I beat I think. Compellingnstory of redemption as you start out as the Dark Knight Ceacil, and takes you to the stars, while keeping the crystal mythology of 4 elements.

Lets you play every character instead of benching the ones you dont like. Well written, with an ark for your companions. What new Final Fantasy titles lack these days, its, the simplicity and can be beaten in a good length of time, with more simple side quests.

I miss turn based like that. Like FF12 was a good balance of turn based and Chronotrigger style of avoiding bad guys. Chrinotrigger. Art beautifully drawn by Akira Toriyama, going back and forward in time, epic compelling cool characters with vast endings, and memorable side quests that change your adventure each time you play.

Beautiful construction of games and story telling that I wish was applied to the new games of this genre and SquareEnix overall. Go back to the roots, and make something like this again. I dont want to waste my time like FFXIII and FFXV.

They are gorgeous games, hard for me to get Submersed in it and some of the stuff is just super silly with making you do to much and takes so long to complete the story.

Games came in great condition. Only wish that it had a case and manual when I ordered my copy but still 10/10. Everything arrived very well packaged and covered to avoid any damage which is always a plus.

Currently in the middle of playing this version of Chrono Trigger. It’s every bit as good as I remember! The added cut scenes, while unnecessary, are a fun new edition. Once I’m done I’ll be moving on to the FF game.

Brings me back to my childhood. Can’t get much better than these two stories!.

I’m writing this mainly because I’m surprised no one else has. I was drawn to this game originally for the artwork, it really is just gorgeous. The gameplay itself is identical to VanillaWare’s Muramasa: The Demon Blade, but as opposed to having just 2 characters to play the game through, in this one you have 5, and each character’s story interlink in a timeline with each other.

It is very striking visually and the story itself is actually very different for each character. I would say each character has roughly a 10-15 hour story on an average play through, but you can amass quite a lot of time invested in short order, I have over 80 hours in and I still haven’t beaten it.

It’s not necessarily one of those games that draws you in and you play all at once, but in so far as a replay is concerned, the ongoing different storylines easily cover that aspect. I don’t know just yet whether I will play it over again when I finally beat it, but they do give you abilities after you beat the first playthrough, quite possibly as an enticement to go through it again.

I also like the ancient Nordic myth aspect, its a bit refreshing to play something different then the same story reworked over and over again in many traditional RPG’s. Its more of a hack and slash then turn based style of playing, so it’s best played as something to kill a couple of hours a day then one sit through.

Some areas are challenging but also pushes a good pace. All in all, even though it’s a bit pricey for a game that’s been out, it is worth a playthrough as you could easily have invested 100+ hours of time into it at the end.

Few can pull 2D sprite based graphics as good as Vanilaware. This is the ultimate remake of the game! besides the HD treatment, most of the cumbersome mechanics of the original game have ether been improved, redefined, rebalanced or completely replaced with better ones, and for the purists, there is also a classic mode with none of the changes.

The one draw back is the repeating stages, as you’ll visit them multiple times with different characters. Thankfully the layout, the secrets and each character’s gameplay are completely different each time! Besides changes, the story is fantastic, keeping you engaged much more than an anime-ish game like this had any right to.

Don’t let the graphics and screenshots fool you. This is a very serious story. And now we come to the graphics! Until I played this back in the day, I didn’t think that 2D graphics could compare to high end 3D.

Screenshots doesn’t do them justice, as they hide the also fantastic animation. The HD treatment lets them shine like no other. If you get the Vita version, there is an option to transfer your saves between devices by uploading your save to some server.

You cant go wrong with thus 2d side scrolling masterpiece. Originally on the PS2, it is beautifully reimagined here on the PS4. Better graphics, 16:9 aspect ratio,1080p, and slightly altered gameplay.

There is also an option to play the game play from the original in Classic mode. Definitely a reason to replay this gem again or for newcomers to get their feet wet. If youre an Atlus or Vanillaware(or probably both) you will need this in your collection.

Mario Maker 1 on Wii U was Nintendo’s answer towards players who wanted to create their own unique takes on Mario levels without venturing into the realm of modding or home brews. Mario Maker 1 created a deep, but simplistic toolset that any age of gamer could find accessible, but Mario Maker 2 takes everything we enjoyed back on Wii U, and it makes it bigger, deeper and even more fun.

See, I always felt like Mario Maker 1 was a mixed bag: you might end up with excellent user-created levels, or you might find yourself putting the controller down while a moving platform takes you right to the flagpole.

Creativity can be both interesting and dull at the exact same time. Luckily, Mario Maker 2 consists of actual single player content as well as Course World level filters so you have more ways to tailor the experience to your liking.

The story mode is fairly good too, with the premise being that the ‘undo dog’ resets the structure of Peach’s castle, leaving you with ‘job’s (i. e. Levels) to complete in order to earn coins which can be used to rebuild the structure from scratch.

This mode alone could have been a game in its own right, and it functions well beyond your everyday tutorial. Playing is only half the experience though, and I’m sure you’re curious how the Switch version handles level creation.

My main question going into Mario Maker 2 was…how will the level creation work if my Switch is docked? On Wii U, you created levels using the stylus on the gamepad, with only dimmed overlays on the TV.

Only after switching over to ‘Play’ your creation, were you able to finally look up and see your level in action on the big screen. On Switch, it’s physically impossible to be able to create your level on the tablet, then simply look up at the TV after it’s done; you naturally have to walk up to your dock and mount the console.

Nintendo actually made this process fairly simple: when docked, you can use any controller to your liking, and utilize the analog sticks, which act as pointers on the screen(there is no motion control option currently).

While in handheld, you utilize touch input, such as what we did on the Wii U gamepad. The controller inputs actually feel pretty good, and it is as accurate as you’d need it to be! The level creation tools are insanely deep, with literally hundreds of combinations that can be formulated to create challenges, puzzles and artistic beauty into a multitude of Mario backdrops.

New to Mario Maker 2 is the inclusion of different backgrounds and customization options for Mario Bros, Mario Bros 3, New Mario Bros U, Super Mario World, as well as the newly introduced 2D gameplay from Super Mario 3D World! Course World has also has been given some much needed options, such as to properly filter out levels you actually WANT to play, such as by selecting ONLY Mario 3D world levels or puzzle oriented ones for when you are in the mood to solve something.

Coop play is also a thing now, even if it ends up becoming a bit of a mess while working with someone else to play or create a level. The whole package is absolutely fantastic, and a must-play for anyone looking to create, play and experience the best Mario creator toolset Nintendo has ever released.

Even if you aren’t into making levels yourself, there is enough content here to keep you entertained well between other major Switch games, and the replay-ability is nearly infinite, as active community engagement will keep the game fresh for years to come.

This is a great game! I love that it makes my kids use their creativity and mind to create puzzles and for their own levels and worlds! They haven’t stopped playing this game since we purchased it last month! There are sooo many combinations that are available so you can play daily and never run into your levels being the same! It is cool that they can upload the levels they create online for other people to play and vice versa.

The only thing I do not like about this game is that other people can leave comments on the games my kids create and my kids also see the comments that people leave on other peoples games. That would be cool except that I’ve seen multiple inappropriate comments while my kids were playing other peoples levels.

It seems outrageous that the comments would not be moderated since it’s a kids game. If you are very particular about your child not being exposed to inappropriate comments, I would recommend not allowing your child to play this game online and use it solely for their own creations.

But overall, my kids love the actual game! It’s a very fun game!.

I’m oldschool. I’m not too fond of the co-op 3D Mario games with its frustrating level designs that are obviously not built around co-op. Which is sad because I want co-op Nintendo games. So I decided to go primal and get Super Mario Maker 2.

Getting old means lack of creativity in the noggin’, so it’s nice that you can play other players’ levels. Unfortunately that requires to buy a Nintendo Online Subscription, thankfully those are cheap, but still.

I’ve already knew what to expect in terms of player created level designs. Diabolical players creating close-to-impossible levels, and then there’s those where you step on a moving platform and the game does all the work for you.

While there is a Filter that should weed out the tryhards and the lazy, but from my experience, it doesn’t work and that really irks me. So it takes awhile to find a level that is just “normal”. The retro gameplay feels a bit the same to me, BUT the inputs are changed and that really irks me as well.

For example, the face buttons are just Run and/or Jump. Then you get to Super Mario World controls, the Spin Jump is now on the top buttons. WHY!?.

Of all the published 5e adventures, the Lost Mine of Phandelver and the Dragon of Icespire Peak are the best. They give you a world to explore and quest in, whereas the other 5e adventures give a railroad style campaign narrative or an overwhelming poorly organized jumble (Curse of Strahd is an exception – Curse of Strahd is great too).

For character creation, the Essentials Kit rules are great, especially for beginners or rules-light folks (like me!) – they give you the essential D&D character races, classes, backgrounds and spells, rather than the analysis-paralysis-inducing glut of character and spell options in the Player’s Handbook.

Spellcaster’s spell lists are included in their class description, which I really like. Likewise, the monsters in the Lost Mine of Phandelver and Dragon of Icespire Peak appendices are the quintessential D&D monsters – goblins, orcs, dragons, ogres, owlbears, centaurs, undead, cultists, mimics, stirges, with a smattering of exotic pretties like the doppleganger and nothic – you can run a lot of awesome D&D adventures with them alone, sans Monster Manual! The MM does have all those cool, adventure-inspiring monster write-ups, but I actually prefer the brief monster descriptions in these adventure books – the details aren’t necessary when the monsters are already placed in an adventure, and I prefer to imagine up my own monster personalities/descriptions.

(Although when it comes to moster tactics, there’s no beating The Monsters Know What They’re Doing – an essential book for any 5e DM). For any DM who wants to really study the game and learn it, these are the products to do it: with a tight set of familiar spell, monster, magic item, and character archetypes and the core mechanics of the system, without the dizzying fluff of the DMG, MM, and PHB.

Its a solid game but Wasteland 2 was better in every respect. Better story, better characters, better graphics (even though the game was older the graphics just looked better than the cartoony ones in this game), and the combat although basically the same felt more fluid and fun.

I also found the locations and encounters to be less interesting and fun than Wasteland 2. The progression and game balance is also a step down from its predecessor. I’m awash with ammo and money which takes all the fun out of it.

And despite a patch its still buggy, crashing quite frequently. Another thing that I didn’t like was how you get an attribute point every level (from level 3) allowing you to max out more than one attribute.

However the skills are much better balanced requiring you to spend them much more carefully. Also the kodiac and world map is a pointless and stupid replacement of the world map in the previous game.

I’d only recommend this game to a fan, and only then if its on sale and you can get it cheap.

I honestly picked this up on a deal and a Deal of the day Opportunity, and I am completely surprised at how deep and vast it is. It has been many years since I played the second one but this one is like a whole other level of quality, direction, and gameplay.

If you are into wide open world games then buy this. You won’t be disappointed by this one.

Amazing dialog script writing and voice acting! Love turn based games like Persona and Divinity? You’ll LOVE this game! Even has character creation. The story has real consequences for your decisions.

AMAZING.

For starters this is a fun game with a lot of good ideas and great art! It’s a fun break from dnd though I wouldn’t call it a replacement. I like the combat system and I like the addition of a system for verbal combat rather than just a static roll.

Great for roleplay! My biggest criticism is the mechanical disparity even within classes. I get that a bard shouldn’t be able to go toe-to-toe with a werewolf to the same degree as a witcher (that just makes sense) but even during character creation a friend of mine who was building a witcher side by side with me would do some hypothetical encounters while learning the system and we found some glaring, but not game breaking, balance issues.

There is also a little bit of a lacking equipment roster and bestiary but this has since been expanded in supplements.

Contentwise, the Witcher Core Rulebook is useful and enjoyable. However, from a rules and mechanics manual point of view, it leaves a lot to be desired. The layout, clarity, and explanations of game mechanics are hard to deal with.

Artistically, the book is enjoyable, but as a core rulebook for an RPG, a little less focus on art and a little more on being a technical guide would have been appreciated.

Wow. Where to start? At the start I guess. Gf surprised me with The Wild Hunt in 2015. I never wanted it, not liking the gameplay I had seen, never having been acquainted with The Witcher world. Loved it.

Bought Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine, playing everything through. I fell for the writing of the game and realized the source material must have been even better. Was over halfway through Sapkowskis series when gf decided to join in and I started over.

Were about to finish The Baptism of Fire, and we have an amazing bond over these stories. We even love the Netflix series. PRODUCT REVIEW: On to this product, the tabletop rpg. When I discovered it, I had to have it.

I have a friend 1000 miles away that I play online with but were always wanting to hangout closer, just difficult with our schedules. Upon starting a campaign, I decided to invite him and our other friend to join in over a Google Docs format.

They were hesitant at first, one even taking a single turn before never mentioning it again (my good friend loved it immediately and wrote in that dwarven merchants murder, due to impatience). But my good friend is now an elven mage (with IBS), sired by Scoiatel.

My gf plays a nilfgaardian bard abandoned by her parents in search of her lost voice. I GM as a cat school Witcher just trying to get through life after abandoning his hermit ways, enjoying his new companions.

We could not have had more fun. We have written a collective 60k+ words through 6 quests. We have not even included characters from the stories because our own (npcs included) are more than interesting.

The design of the book along with the writings Sapkowski and CD Projekt Red provided allow for an incredible amount of original content to be created and enjoyed. I just picked up Lords and Lands expansion the other day and am unendingly excited to add these new characters to the game.

The book is well written, has great art, and is simultaneously in-depth enough while being simplistic. It stays faithful to the source material and leaves so much room to make your own stories. I only wanted a 10 quest campaign or so and am scrambling to get that to happen.

I am going to be closer to 15. My gf wants to dm and I cannot wait to experience the other side of this game. Above all, it gave me the unique way of connecting with an old friend in a way not possible by other means.

I will be forever grateful for this alone.

I played PS4 version. Waited almost a decade for Square ENIX to get out of its development hell stage to complete this game but I’m so glad they somewhat finished it. A part of me felt a sense of loss when this project changed drastically but I’m very grateful that they involved their fan base along with the changes that FFXV went with.

Some of the changes were obviously because of fear of PR issues, and kind of weird with the in-game sponsorship but the story of brotherhood and the protaganist’s journey was such a ride, I’d join this road trip again with the characters.

Very happy they still kept some traditional elements like the chocobos birds but a bit annoying with the amount of DLCs they made afterwards. As the game industry was changing and the technology to accompany the typical FF graphics, I can see that FFXV took too much money out of the company so they had to rake in the revenue somehow.

Definitely one of the most legendary titles in the company’s legacy, and a bit concerning that I spend most of my life watching the business/Game expo presentations on this title, but what a ride it’s been.

Please consider playing if you wanted to try a Final Fantasy game or just learn what it takes to launch a product like a game into a crazy demanding but dedicated market.

Final Fantasy XV: Royal Edition is good. The game is a lot of fun, with an enjoyable world and fun combat. On the latter, while it took some getting used to, the combat eventually clicked and was a lot of fun.

This game’s main four characters are a ton of fun and have a lot of great banter on their journey. This game’s environments are beautiful, which is crucial when you spend a lot of time driving from place to place.

The DLC is also fun, with the three lates ones adding some important story and character building. The first one adds some of the latter to a lesser extent. Overall, Final Fantasy XV: Royal Edition is good, and if you like open world games, action RPGs, and/or Final Fantasy, then you should play this one.

Final Fantasy XV is targeted to newer audiences of the franchise who have little to no experience with Final Fantasy. The game, in my opinion is okay but it was severely lacking in story. To get everything, one need to watch the Kingsglaive movie, the animated series, buy all DLC, and purchase a book.

For me, this was tedious and extremely annoying. I would rather wait longer for game, if it meant that all of the story pieces were together. However, it all came down to funding which essentially killed this game.

Dragon Quest Builders are my second favorite game series out there! If you love Portal Knights, you would absolutely love this game. This is a great modern take on Zelda meets Portal Knights. My boyfriend and I play this game together alot, as it is super fun adventuring together.

The down side of this game is unfortunately they do not allow couch co op, so we just watch eachother play. The only thing you could do to make this game better is to add that feature to allow you and another person to play together on the same console.

Build your own land / adventure, complete quests, beat bosses, gain cool items, meet awesome characters, fun story line with a very adult funny since of humor. I’m always recommending this game to other gamers such as myself! I look forward to playing this every week.

This more cheery and family friendy addition to the much lauded franchise is a must have for those who enjoy discovery and world building. Taking a page from the ever popular “Minecraft” building block style, it’s easy to find yourself several hours in getting your village looking perfect! The aim is to travel around fighting off a mysterious darkness that has taking the world’s creativity.

Through meeting survivors of the lands and inventing everything from wooden doors to modern cold medicine you help the world remember that they can hope for another day and spend it happily with family and friends.

Over the course of several maps you rebuild towns and bring light back to tbe world. Fans of previous Dragon Quest games will see a lot of familiar things and possibly some familiar faces through the game.

However you don’t need to be an old fan to enjoy the light atsmophere of the game. Great for kids!.

The game is cute and is quite endearing. The building mining and building are both quite relaxing activities. The battling is a little onerous with rather imprecise aiming with melee weapons. The worst part is the inability to run.

However, my main problem is that after I completed the 1st world and boss, the 2nd world feels a bit of a rehash as it forces you to restart from scratch, artificially making some even basic materials harder to get so suddenly it went from a relatively fun experience from the 1st world to a rather grindy and not-so-fun experience in the 2nd world.

Good if you don’t mind retreading the game elements, but I prefer a straightforward “progress” through a game.

Probably my favorite game next to Kingdom Hearts. This game in my opinion, will give a lot of chances for replay without feeling bored. There are multiple character stories and races that offer a different view point of the same world.

The storytelling is top notch and is very engrossing. I really wish they would remaster this for the newer systems. If you love RPGs, I’d recommend this game and others from the Dragon Age series.

I bought this because I’ve recently fallen in love with the Dragon Age series. If there’s one thing video gaming for 16 years has taught me: Don’t judge a game by its graphics. The game’s graphics aren’t.

terrible per say, but if you’re like me and played Inquisition before origins, then you’re gonna be extremely put off at first. To be fair, I was originally put off by Inquisition, but not because of the graphics.

They’re gorgeous in that game. I was put off by the battle system, at first. I was instantly given a WoW-vibe to it, and thought to myself, “Oh god, no I am not repeating my WoW phase. ” Trust me when I say: you learn to love it.

I haven’t finished this game yet, but I’ll point out what sticks out most to me thus far. Controls: It may take a little while to adjust yourself to the controls, they can be quite wonky. I do not recommend equipping potions into one of your main battle buttons (triangle, X, O) because you WILL end up accidentally using one, and there’s no “Are you sure?” for it or anything, so that’s annoying.

Though, if you’re a baby who plays on casual like myself, you’ll hardly find yourself needing too many potions. Now, the dialogue. Something I noticed with this game is the dialogue differences. This isn’t to say that they’re significantly different from the other games, but that I definitely notice much more humor in this game, and I love every single second of it.

I find myself laughing my ass off with Alistair and Morrigan on my main teams, being that they hate each other. At one point, you may even comment on someone’s genital size. (I won’t spoil it, but it is certainly every bit as funny as you’d imagine) Sarcasm thrown left and right.

It’s everywhere and I love, love, love it. Additionally, I think it’s good to note your protagonist is technically silent. They have a voice, but it only occurs in battles. You might think this to be a negative, but when you hear the voice options you have, you’ll quickly thank Bioware for not making us suffer through long, ear-cringing dialogue with them.

By the way, if you’re a Rogue, get used to: Trap! Trap! Trap! Trap! about twenty times or more every time you enter a dungeon. Romances: Not many romance options in this game, but I wouldn’t call that something to complain about.

The romance options are certainly adequate enough to keep your attention, with interesting sex scenes and compelling personal quests. Without a doubt, you’ll find yourself falling in love with one of the companions in this game.

Or, if you’re like me, you fall in love with all of them and cry because youcan’t romance everyone at the same time. Oh yeah, and your companions can get jealous regardless of whether or not you’re dating them.

Which isn’t bad, but rather cute, in my opinion. It shouldn’t hinder your relationship with them either unless you’ve been flirting with them. Replay value: Now, I haven’t beaten it, and I intend on revising my review after I have done so, however, I can already say now I plan to replay this game.

Bioware does a phenomenal job of providing you with games well worth the money you spend on them, given their replay value. Perhaps not as many path options as Inquisition, but I still certainly long to play as an Elf mage.

This time around, however, I chose Dalish Rogue Elf, because I am a huge sucker for Elven lore and their origins. To specify: you have to be a city Elf in order to be a mage. All mages have the same background story, which I understand, but it is a bit of a nuisance to me.

So yeah, that’s all I have to say for now! I’ll definitely revise this later on.

I love this game and always go back to it. Being able to choose your origin, character race/species, and what class you are is amazing. I especially love the fact that there are different stories for each character.

You could start off as a noble or be a Dalish elf. That’s something I missed in the newer games. I also loved how big the selection is for mages. The newer games seemed to limit the mages and I’m not entirely sure as to why they did.

This game made it feel like you were apart of it. The characters were also great and I enjoyed going through their personal stories and making friends. and enemies throughout the game. The choices are never truly right or wrong, it’s up to you and how you feel about the situation at hand and sometimes you feel regret over the choices you make, but that’s what makes the game so interesting.

I love this game a lot and hope the newer games bring back that personal connection again.

Contains Spoilers. The story is very well put together. The characters that get introduced all have their own personality and dialect. However, the story does quite a bad job at giving the player options or opinions.

Any instance where the player is given a Yes or No option, the No option will always result in a loop where you MUST choose Yes: Can I, please? Aww, I know youre only joking, so Ill ask again Can I, please? I get this is to have the story told in a certain fashion.

The webbing of choices and outcomes would have the story unnecessarily extended beyond the intended playability. Some minor characters wouldnt have been affected by this, and would have given the player more freedom in their choices.

Blueprints make a return. A portion of the game and its missions revolve around placing blocks where the game wants you to place them. After you have dedicated spaces to these rooms and collected all the necessary blocks, you can then destroy it and build your own version.

Or keep them destroyed, the game doesnt really care about if they exist after that particular blueprint request anyway. I remember having made rooms such as a cathedral and having the game request I make a specified, blueprint based one instead.

I then knocked down my entire cathedral and hadto make the premade version. If I make a usable kitchen, the game should be able to label it as such, without me needing to complete the blueprint before I discover how to make a kitchen.

Im the builder, the room ideas should be able to be discovered before learning how to make them if theyre almost exactly identical contents-wise. Many times in quests, Ive already completed the task: acquired the item or discovered areas long before the game gets to that point.

I felt as though the player character is lead through many narrow loops, in order to get you to play a certain way and to progress in the story a certain way. People that buy this game quite possibly already possess a large imagination.

The game just doesnt expect you to be creative. There is some good in DQB2, in that it now rebuilds your town after instanced boss battles. Outside of these boss battles when monsters invade, your town gets destroyed and youre going to have to manually rebuild it just like the first game.

You can customise your character a bit more and construct new clothing, which is welcomed. Its nice to see the new tools and cool techniques you have in building walls and floors, as well as attacking monsters.

This paragraph will contain heavy spoilers. It is written near the end so that the heavy text wall and prior warning at the start dissuades you from continuing. But youre here now, so continue again at your own discretion.

At a certain stage in the game, youre taken in as a prisoner. It was quite fun to have this unexpected turn in the quest! Moving away from where youre supposed to be in this quest results in the guards manually loading you back to where you should be.

As I have some imagination, I manage to find numerous routes away from the guards. It should be noted that the guards on the prison island have your boat around the back of the map, and youre unable to access it by playing the game normally.

If you climb the sides of the mountain outside, you can actually get around the top of the map and over it in order to get to your boat. The game didnt intend for this to happen, and some parts of the mountaintop still spawn you back at the quest path.

It would have been nice to get an alternative quick progression due to finding my own creative path away from the prison island. Unfortunately, you just look at your boat, with your buddy Malroth next to you without any dialogue or notice from these characters.

Similarly, in the final quest, youre stripped of all your items (once again) and stuck into a nightmarish world. By being resourceful, I entertained myself by digging through a layer in the ground to avoid what I call progression blocks and managed to find some of the items that should have only been discovered right at the end of the quest.

(The wings, eyes and the temple including the secret basement room) already discovered. This is not me gloating about how I overcame the game. This is to try and explain that the game should have relaxed barriers, for creative players to find their own paths around worlds, missions and objectives.

It took hours to discover everything in the last mission by myself, but I wanted to do it as the game felt too linear and nurturing to play as intended. If a player does something early, reward them for it.

I felt the story was very well executed, but too linear. The game is based around creativity, yet I felt that a significantly large portion that is required to progress is entirely conjured by the developers and not drawn from my imagination.

Due to the character count reached in review I cannot write more. I hope it is adequate enough for you to finalise your purchase decision.

Dragon Quest Builders 2 is best described as a JRPG with Minecraft-like mechanics, more so than a Minecraft-like game with a story. The difference is important: DQB2 is telling a JRPG story first and foremost, and it withholds several gameplay mechanics (many of which a Minecraft Creative player would take for granted) until several story beats are unlocked.

For example, Multiplayer mode is only unlocked several hours in, after the first island is completed. As such, DQB2 is a nightmare for players who want a sandbox where they can just jump straight into the action.

However, for players who want an engaging story that unfolds over several dozen hours with lovable characters and a world-shaping plot, a story that ALSO gives players ample motivation to build crazy/amazing/wonderful projects, then DQB2 builds a game world like no other.

Clever writing and addictive gameplay that combines creativity and exploration. Charming characters and adorable monsters, adventuring and exploration. The game gives you guidance where necessary as well as the freedom, the encouragement and the tools to be creative.

The only problem is that I can’t stop playing. Highly recommended.
