Best Vehicle Mario Kart 8 (2023 Updated)

Coming from the Nintendo Wii’s Mario Kart 7, the game is graphically stunning, and there are a variety of new, exciting, and gorgeous tracks with plenty of shortcuts. There are some classic tracks as well as newer ones.

There are many options to customize your vehicle (e. g. , parachute, wheels). Vehicle customization affects the acceleration, weight, handling, traction, and speed of the vehicle. All of the characters come unlocked, but you can unlock vehicles, parachutes, and wheels by collecting coins throughout the game.

Interestingly, there is 200cc, which speeds up the track, so breaking technique is involved. Gameplay: I immediately noticed that MK8D requires a lot of drifting, which is different from MK7 Wii, where drifting is optional.

I found it to be more easy to get bumped off the track by heavier players. Unfortunately, some of the boost items (the golden mushroom and star) give you less speed than they used to. The benefit to the star in MK8D is its invincibility, which is a great advantage considering that players can hold up to two items.

The green turtles are much more likely to hit you, are much faster, and can bounce off walls. Getting a coin in first place is often frustrating as it is not a defensive item; however, collecting coins increase your speed.

I have about 6 games on Switch and in my opinion Super Mario Kart 8 is the best racing game Nintendo has made on the Switch! It is definitely better than Mario Kart 7 on 3DS XL and that was already awesome so imagine how much better this is with better graphics and playability! Even though this came out in 2017, 4 years later this still holds up pretty well, especially for those who were unable to get a Switch during the great Switch drought of 2020! There are 41 playable characters and 5 of them are exclusive to Switch.

I believe Villager from Animal crossing is new as well as Bowser Jr. , Cat Peach, Dry Bones, Dry Bowser ,the Inklings from Splatoon and Tanooki Mario. Also players will have access to all 48 tracks from the starting line which is great.

The one all new feature of the game is called Smart Steering, the Smart Steering is intended for inexperienced players. I don’t know how it works but you can go over a speed boost, bump into a wall but not lose any speed.

It also allows you to boost on sharp turns on tracks like Rainbow Road. Really great racing experience. Smooth ,great music, fun effects, it takes you back to the good old Nintendo days except you now can play Mariokart on the move, win win!.

The number one most effective game for destroying civility is back and better than ever! Mario Kart 8 is basically Mario Kart Wii with prettier graphics and more tracks. Other than that, it did not evolve much. I really enjoyed the Wii game but this one was more of the same old or same old.

I also am amazed that they still do not have a system whereby friends can play and communicate with each other like in Playstation 4 and 5. Part of the fun in multiplayer is in the communication. As it is, this game was underwhelming.

Don’t get me wrong. It is fun. For a while. Playstation has multiplayer done better and I find myself not playing this game much as there are so much more multiplayer games on Playstation (also require paid membership).

Nintendo’s basic paid membership is about twenty bucks for a year but it is barebones. They really need to up their game and improve their multiplayer aspect such as communication. I only recommend this to those who did not have the opportunity to play the Wii version that came before years ago.

Why I Stopped Playing: The item balance is terrible. Even though Nintendo added cool, new items, such as the fire flower, boomerang, ghost, piranha plant, super horn, and the crazy eight, the item balance made the game unbearable for me.

Not only can players hold two items but green turtles are faster and have better aim; there are fireballs that can bounce off walls and hit you; the boomerangs can hit you when thrown forward or when it comes back to the player; and you can get hit by a blue shell traveling on the ground.

There are not always warnings for these items either; they can come out of nowhere. The game would be perfect if Nintendo rebalanced the items.

Awesome fast car. This a very nice detailed car and provides a lot of excitement and fun playing with it on the race track.

It arrived 2 days earlier it is amazing but the price is expensive

I love this game! It is such a classic game. There are easy courses and very difficult courses. You can play by yourself or you can play with friends. (It is a lot of fun to run your friends off rainbow road 😂).

I definitely recommend this game if you are looking for a classic racing game. The controls are pretty easy to figure out and there are additional modes that you can play to make the game more interesting.

Awesome game. Lots of fun with 2-4 players. The best part is, for kids there is assistance mode where it will help you stay on the track and auto accelerate. You can turn off either or both. I honestly use the assistive steering sometimes because of the sharp corners in a lot of the tracks.

It doesnt completely steer for you it just keeps you from running off the track, and if you do it steers you back on it. The characters are great. My wife and I like watching the replays after the race to see the highlights.

Lots of cool vehicles to unlock and customize. You can change your character which changes the color scheme of the kart, then pick your wheels and parachute, all of which change the dynamics of the kart.

From speed, acceleration, weight and traction you can customize your kart depending on the track you select. Enemys are difficult on 150cc races and up which is a nice challenge. A few new weapons and some classics as well.

Great game for the whole family and a must have for all switch owners.

Ive played this game for a very long time (ever since the release date). It is a very fun game, and I still play it every once and a while, even after Ive done everything I can do in the game. This game has the most characters that have ever been in a Mario Kart game, and it has the most cups (with the downloadable content included) of any Mario Kart game since Mario Kart Super Circuit on the Game Boy Advance.

The downloadable content for this game offers a wide variety of new courses, characters, and kart parts to choose from, for only about $12, which you can get on the Nintendo E-Shop (you can use a Nintendo e-shop card that you can buy at stores, or use a credit card to add funds to your e-shop account on your Wii U online).

The new anti-gravity mechanic is also a very good new feature, as it plays a major role in the way the game plays. The game has some great online features as well, and allows you to play with your friends, or make custom races.

I have every Mario Kart game except for 2 of them, and this is my favorite one out of all of them. Overall, this game has a lot of features that are have been really nice additions to the Mario Kart series.

Carrera GO!!! slot car (1/43 scale) ~ inspired by the Mario Kart video game. Sturdy little car with nice details. and very fast ! Good magnet holds the corners on the track well. Just as fast as other cars by Carrera GO!!! or any brand.

This is basically an add-on for the Marial cart Carrera GO slot car racing set. Highly recommend.

Mario Kart 8 is a fantastic and compelling addition to the series! Great graphics, gameplay, and re-play value! 2 cons if I had to pick about MK8; the AI can be a bit on the cheap side. It just doesn’t want you to win 1st place for the cup.

It does get progressively hard and cheap as you advance through the cups. It is not like the predecessors if you get good at it then your skill shows every time you play the game. The second con is that the battle mode is not the arena style environment.

You now have to hunt your opponent down on the tracks you race on. Still, Mario Kart 8 is top notch and would recommend it for all!.

With it being the latest edition of the Mariokart series. It completely meets the standards for modern gaming today. The graphics are nice. The game runs very smoothly. And they added the new hover mode feature which I think is really cool.

With content literally being thrown at the audience consistently Mariokart 8 is almost a game if you have money for it you should be playing it right now. Mariokart 8 a well designed game that shines with fun gameplay with new added features.

I’ve been playing Mario Kart since its inception on SNES. Drifting was introduced on N64, and now we have firehopping. The tracks are incredibly designed and thought out. You can now drive on 200cc which feels incredibly fast for any racing game.

Tons of characters to choose from, tons of kart customization capabilities, and a fast and addictive multiplayer matchmaking system that works generally flawlessly. It’s an incredible game that’s easy to pick up for casual gamers and even better for hardcore gamers that want to get good.

It’s Mario Kart, it is great fun especially with family or friends. This Deluxe edition is especially good because it includes extra tracks, and it has many characters to choose from. In fact, it has the most tracks I have seen in any other Mario Kart game, complete with many different trophy cups.

The selection means there is bound to be a favorite track and character for everyone. Being able to play on the Switch is great since it is so portable, and Mario Kart is great for family trips and things.

The only thing keeping it from 5 stars for me is that it is much more costly compared to the Wii U version, but the price difference was worth it for the benefits the switch provides and having the DLC tracks included helps.

It is great for beginners yet challenging enough for veteran players. It is the first Mario Kart game in HD and boy is this game beautiful. Never before has karting looked this good. Visuals aside the racing is better than ever.

The anti gravity adds so much to the experience that it feels refreshing in a franchise that is 22 years old. You can race up walls and even upside down, the animation is fluid and seamless. The anti gravity aspect also adds a bit of strategy in races since when in anti gravity mode bumping into your fellow racers gives you a speed boost.

There were a few races where I was in second place but got the speed boost from the player in the lead and went on to win the race. The anti gravity aspect is just genius and very fun. The race tracks are amazing and so is the music.

You get 16 remixed race tracks from all eras and 16 new, even the remixed tracks feel brand new because of the visuals and anti gravity sections. The music is excellent and matches the tracks very well.

You will hear some familiar beats like Donkey Kong theme and Mario 3D World theme. The single player is great fun with three grand prix modes the 50cc,100cc, and 150cc. I started with 50cc just to get back in the groove and then business really picks up by the time you get to 150cc.

I had a blast with the single player but the online multiplayer is SUPER FUN. There is worldwide and regional races and battle mode plus friends only online mode as well. The online was very fun and not once did I experience lag or any connection issues.

The online will keep me busy for a long time. The battle mode has changed from arenas to redesigned race tracks. At first I was disappointed with this but the more I play the battle mode it has grown on me.

The battle mode is meant to be a supplement to the racing anyway so I don’t mind the change. Overall all I can say that GO BUY THIS GAME, and if you don’t own a Wii U then GO BUY THE MARIO KART 8 WII U BUNDLE!!!!.

I have already raced the first wave of tracks enough to pay for the whole pass! Really no reason not to buy this if you enjoy Mario Kart or even occasionally play it when friends and family come over and you just want some more tracks.

I actually prefer the new artwork/design of tracks over the original. It really pops and feels and looks like a switch game and not a Wii U port. The new textures are just smooth, polygons, and better textures in general.

A++ overall! Excited for the rest of the waves and curious which tracks they will bring back.

First of all, the download and installation is quick and easy. After entering the DLC code in the eshop, my Switch downloaded and installed the expansion in mere seconds. The new tracks make the game feel brand new again.

Kids were really excited to try each new race. There’s a lot of variety in race environments. With 8 new tracks unlocked every two months for the next year, there’s a lot to look forward to – 48 new tracks in total! This expansion is a great value!.

I feel as though it’s almost a slight con, in that you pay for 48 new tracks but only get 8 of them. Also, I feel like the graphics on some of the tracks are lacking a little bit, and don’t seem to have come very far since previous releases.

For example, the textures and overall look of the Coconut mall track are better on the wii version than the switch version in my opinion. Also, the course has less obstacles than the original wii version (such as the moving cars before the final corner) , which I was disappointed with.

Ok, who passed this as an awesome toy kids or parents? Hahahaha!!! The charging on this car is so inconvenient. In order to charge you have to remove the chargeable battery every single time. (Fingers crossed the screwdriver doesn’t get lost after every use…oops!) Plus it’s a different kind of charging port on a tiny wire too so here’s hoping we don’t lose either the battery or the charge wire to what ever has taken our screwdriver.

We received this gift for Christmas for my two year old son. When we opened the box the batteries, usb charging piece, and the rechargeable battery were all missing. I contacted the company for help and they refused to replace the missing pieces or to allow me to replace the car with a functioning one.

I was forced to return the car and had to try to explain this to my two year old who already opened the gift. I would never recommend anything from this company.

Super cute and fun little racecar for my children. They love that Mario’s head bobbles around while driving. It’s pretty big for a remote control car and the colors are vibrant. The remote is easy to use and has a very long range.

The car will still be racing around with the remote being in another room or upstairs. My only complaint would be that the battery doesn’t last very long and it’s kind of a hassle to unscrew and remove it to charge it.

I wish the access to the battery was easier. I still think it’s a great little toy!.
