The suction on this is superb and there are some useful features, however I have a couple of gripes. Firstly, as this is not one of the dewalt ‘dust extractors’ and more of a plain old vac, the dewalt attachments do not fit on it, therefore I had a bit of a mare trying to connect it to my 35mm mitre saw outlet.
I managed to source a 3D printed attachment off a well known auction site. It’s very useful having the power take off, however you can tell that this isn’t a uk design as a standard 3 pin plug doesn’t fit overly well as the cord fouls the unit.
Overall the quality is reasonable, it performs well and it has good features.

Okay so we love the shop vac because of the fact they have great suction, can be used to soak up water, Or I can use it to blow our deck of any debris and since we have a big house with 8 active teenagers , and 2 dogs theres always some part of our house we are doing some type of repair or deep cleaning and I always use my shop vac.
but after 6years my shop vac broke and so my other half seen how miserable i was he went and brought me another. Except he saw this mini sized one and figured that would work because then i dont have to be lugging the big one around.
BIG MISTAKE! this mini or 2. 5 gallon one is such a dissappointment! first of all the suction sucks i find my self going back and sweeping or using my other vacuum to vacuum over. It smells like its burnt, and I cant even blow an ant off my deck with this! for $40 bucks i couldve just brought me the regular one and i would have been very satisfied! sad to say we brought this in july.
So, how do i use the warranty and is it possible to get the regular one?.
The hose on this thing won’t stay on. Theres NOTHING in the manual that explains in detail how to lock it in and i have looked it over extensively but cannot find a way. You attach it, twist it, push it, nothing works.
Within a few minutes of using it the hose inevitably falls out leading to extreme angry frustration. There look to be little notches that catch but i have tried and they do nothing. I had a cheap $10 wet vac before this that lasted me about 10 years w/o a problem.
No more craftsman products for me. This thing is junk, and to make matters worse it’s impossible to talk to anyone in the company that actually knows the products.
I work in residential property maintenance and I bought this to use for small water spills that tend to occur. It works great for that, and is easy to carry around because of the small size. One unforeseen benefit of this item is the small hose, relative to other wet dry vacs, is great for blowing clear a clogged drain line.
I had a clogged condensate line on a furnace, and I set the vac up to blow and put it over the drain on the furnace side of the line. I was able to blow the blockage out very quickly because the hose is roughly the same size as the drain pipe.
I did the same thing with a washing machine drain that was running slow. I put the hose over the hole and used my hand to create a seal around the top of the drain and blew the blockage out of the way, and then flushed the drain with water.
It worked perfectly and I did not have to use any chemicals or a drain snake. This item is very versatile if you think outside of the box for other ways to take advantage of the features.

Overall this is a great little wet/dry vac. Great maneuverability for tasks such as vacuuming vehicle interiors. Very convenient not having to fumble around with extension cords like we did with our Oreck compact canister vacuum.
I like how the hose and attachments fit neatly in the vacuum. The unit operates quietly. Haven’t owned long, so I can’t comment on how durable the motor is. This is marketed as a wet/dry vac, but the wet filters are not widely available.
As with their other battery powered tools, I wish there was an option to power with an ac wall outlet. Metabo HPT has an adapter that lets you plug battery tools into outlets. It would be nice if they offered more nozzle attachments.
The battery placement is not optimal. If you have large hands or are older and have a weak grip, the XC battery might be difficult to remove.
I was signed up for alerts for when this product would become available to buy in stores. I’ve had it since it first came out and while it’s not a perfect vacuum, it’s perfect for my needs. I do maintenance for an apartment community and I was tired of carting a full sized vacuum around when all I needed was to clean up a small work area inside a unit.
I already have a full set of M12 Fuel tools that I use, I kept looking at the M18 vacuum, but didn’t want to mix in one M18 battery with all my M12 ones. Then Milwaukee announced the M12 version and I couldn’t wait to try it out.
It has plenty of power for light clean up work, it handles saw dust, drywall dust, dirt, small screws, and even a small water mess (not at the same time of course, ha) without hassle, as far as suction is concerned.
But it does have the issue of overheating the battery. When the vacuum is working too long or too hard, the draw across the battery trips the overheat protection and the unit shuts itself down for a moment.
Anywhere from 30s to 1min. I’ve noticed that the problem gets worse the longer you go between cleaning the filter. I keep meaning to pick up a another filter so I can hot swap them, right now I just make sure to pull the filter and clean it every few days after frequent use.
That helps some, also keeping the tray empty helps. Too much build up inside can clog the filter area and leads to the overheating. But keeping this in mind, knowing about the overheating issue, it’s still a great little clean up vacuum.
It’s not a full sized shop vac, if I was trying to replace that for when I’m cleaning up the shop, then I would go for the M18 version. But for doing small cleanups inside apartments where I was working, even tackling some water when I had a washmachine flood, this little vaccum is worth every penny.

I use to own one of these years ago! (It died due to age). This is a nice little guy for a quick touch up vacuuming in any room of your house/apt. and is great for vacuuming under couches, chairs, etc.
It’s also nice for cleaning your car but the only thing that’s “wrong” with it, so to speak, is that it doesn’t come with a cigarette lighter adapter. You’ll have to use an extension cord because this little guy is plug to wall outlet only.
The price is right! I use this vac a lot. It is compact and lightweight–an advantage when climbing a ladder and using it to vacuum the tops of the kitchen cabinets! Since it is light, however, it very easily falls over when pulling it around on the floor to vacuum.
Then of course you have to turn it off and wait for the “ball to fall” to continue! A wider base could help. The “buttons” on the sides are a little hard to operate, but not insurmountable. Also, the exhaust is near the hose connection, meaning that if you are holding it, it will be blowing exhaust on you while vacuuming! Unpleasant.
But it does come with the attachments you need (I can use the round brush attachment from another vac I had) and seems to be a little workhorse. I’ve had mine a few years!.
We purchased this 1 gallon wet/dry shop vac for our motorhome. Tiny home living with a grandson thru the PNW seasons presents numerous challenges!! Space constraints is the most obvious. When we started waking up with so much humidity on our windows that the sills overflowed and dampened – even soaked – things around or under them, we learned something new.
Dehumidifier purchase failed to remedy the problem. So we purchased this little sucker to remove the water. It is small enough, light enough to get around to all the windows – even the ones in the boy’s cabover loft.
The crevice tool had to be duct taped to close off the niche at the end. I wish that Stanley would offer the smaller 1″ detail tools. We have had opportunities to use the vac for spilled milk – floor & upholstery!! We have half a dozen other plans for it – removing water from water toys before loading back into cubbies, cleaning car, etc.
i wish the cord was longer. And swiveled!! It was not on the shelf at the store, but ordering online & delivery to store is EASY PEASY!!.
