I was telling my Dad about this UV flashlight and he said you can recharge fishing jigs for night fishing using the ultraviolet light. They stay illuminated longer, too. We don’t fish so I am unable to test that out but now my Dad wants one.

I’ve had the flashlight about Coast PX300 dual color UV LED Flashlight about 2 weeks now and have been giving it a full work out. I can honestly say I am impressed with the performance so far. Most of the 3 AAA battery powered flashlights don’t have a very long battery life and I tend to grab the larger C celled lights as they have a longer battery life.

I tried to recharge the battery before using it and was weird that the indicator was staying green for hours. Then I red the instructions and it was mentioned that the indicator should be red when start charging and once the battery pack is full, it will turn green.

How can you use a UV light around the house? Well, for a surprising number of purposes. I picked out the Coast PX75 UV Pocket Light for its ability to detect counterfeit money when I’m handling cash where I volunteer and for that bottle of blacklight/UV activated nail polish that I bought quite awhile back and haven’t been able to use until now.

This little light is also supposed to be good for finding scorpions and even automotive leaks. Now, we don’t have scorpions where I live but it’s been a lot of fun using this light on a whole host of other bugs to see which ones ‘glow’ and which ones do not.

Seriously, if you are a homeschooler or your kids are distance learning this light would be great for experimenting around your home and yard. Pros: Small and lightweight so it will easily fit in your pocket.

There is a clip for attaching the light to a hat etc. Easy rubber covered push on/off button. Strong light that will detect even the tiniest drops and faintest traces. Wide ring of weaker light surrounding a bright focus beam in the center.

It only needs a single AA battery, one from a recognized brand was included with the light. Cons: None really so far. There has been a little bit of flickering when being moved around quickly but, honestly, in my experience that’s pretty normal for flashlights/headlamps/etc.

Overall I’ve been quite happy with the Coast PX75 UV Pocket Light so far. Admittedly it’s mostly been a toy for me but judging by what I’ve seen up to now I fully plan on using it for more practical purposes, especially those automotive leaks, whenever it’s needed.

This works just as described. It is small, lightweight and easily carried in a pocket or purse. I played around with it at work and at home. Seeing the spots on our company bathroom toilet under a UV light was disconcerting but made it much easier to point out where housekeeping needs work! I feel like this would be very handy for travelers who often stay in hotels, motels or B&B’s.

If you want to be sure your bedding and baths are genuinely cleaned, that is. I will definitely keep it in my purse for future use.

Comes with absolutely no instructions nor how to best use it. Lighthouse Support would not even resond to my request for more info. The long wave is really weak — just a small flashlight like bulb on the front.
