20 Best Utv Cell Phone Holder (2023 Updated)

The x-grip holds my galaxy s10+ pretty snugly, does not interfere with the power & volume controls, but the rubber band straps snapped when I tried to fit them around my phone. Either it’s WAAAYYY too small for a normal sized phone or the rubber was a dud.

They sell a large version but my phone is really not that big and the description says this one is compatible with the s10+. I’ve been using it anyway but I’m nervous about how it will hold my phone with just the x-grip.

Also, the x-grip does rotate a little. I haven’t noticed it yet while riding but I stick to pretty smooth roads, it’ll probably wiggle around on bumps. Giving it a low “bang for the buck” rating because it’s pretty pricy for something that broke on the first use.

Considering the wide range of mounting points and extensions available, if you cant find a solution that works on your bike/motorcycle etc, you havent looked hard enough. I got a ball mount to fill a hole where a mirror used to be on my motorcycle, the smallest composite joint and this RAM mount holder.

It is very secure and tight when snugged down. The RAM Mount piece itself, the pads that hold the sides of the phone are very soft and grabby. The logo part where the back of your phone rests is even a soft sticky rubber to keep it from moving around.

Very impressed with the fit and finish and would definitely recommend it. If you dont like the position your phone is in or want to change the perspective to mount a camera instead, the attachments are so affordable its no big deal to grab exactly what you need! The packaging was also very minimal, which I like! Excellent product that Im very happy with!.

Samsung Galaxy S9. When the phone is in the grip, I have to raise it up to avoid hitting the side action keys. That alone is manageable. The problem is the grip arms rotate as I’m riding, causing the phone to rotate approximately 45degs either way.

I tried to use the rubber strap, but it has to be pulled so hard that I end up pushing the phone down a little and the grip hits the side key again. Online research shows that Ram suggests putting a piece of popsicle stick in the arm slots to prevent the rotation.

No. Just no. For the price, it really should not rotate freely. A lock mechanism or SOMETHING that keeps it in place would be much more preferable to a popsicle stick. Can’t return because it’s opened.

so it’s being donated to a friend. Bought the Quick Grip XL to replace it, so I’m hoping that fares better.

I have been using RAM mounts for over a decade. I have many components in my collection, which is part of the appeal. You can build just about and solution for any situation. This Large X-Grip mount is perfect for my LG V35.

I’ve bought ram mounts starting about 56 years ago for my work vehicles to hold iPads with locks on them and to fit my exact models. These things are rigid, durable, and well worth the money. I’ll tell you one thing the versatility of all the ram mounts and the things that they offer is mine blowing.

One thing that surprises me as we’ve all bought suction cup mount for GPS units cell phones you name it. The suction cup mount that comes with this ram mount system is really, really strong. I am shocked at how well the thing holds.

I would recommend ram mount systems to anyone hands-down over anything else that they’ve probably ever tried. There is a way to mount anything virtually! You can literally get lost and excited looking at all the options that they offer.

The best thing is is that all of them are made to last.

Launched my iPhone over my head and onto the highway when I hit a bridge expansion gap. Impressive how much air it got, almost hit my ?friend? riding behind me. A real friend would?ve caught it for me.

Partially my fault, if you?re going to use this be sure to snap the elastic rubber thing over the corners of your phone. I didn?t this particular ride and paid the price. Have since switched to a quadlock.

The only good news about this is you can contact RAM mount and get replacement ball mounts when they wear out; in my case that was every two weeks riding once daily for 20-30 miles a day. This is a flawed system.

I had it a week before the ball that holds the x-cradle on wore down and consequently my phone would flop around like a bobble head. After replacing it numerous times, and having my phone fall off my bike at 35 miles an hour, I decided to convert it to double socket arm.

Again, to their benefit, RAM mount sent me out a RAM 1” ball, RAP-B-366U, that’s for a camcorder. I removed the stud for mounting the camcorder and attached it to my current tough-claw. Because it wasn’t part of my original mount I purchased the double arm socket, and after not hearing back for RAM mount about exchanging my current x-grip for one with a ball mount I purchased it as well.

My current system works, but in the end it cost twice as much as if I’d gone for the double arm initially. Don’t wast your time on this. Still waiting to hear about a replacement x-grip, now two weeks.

Guess no luck regarding that exchange, but they usually are quite expedient when answering emails. Hope this helps.

The good: It held my iPhone just fine for road based use. The bad: it fell apart after about two years. The “RAM” button popped off and along with it the 4 arms that hold the phone. Plastic welds had failed.

This was basically unrepairable. In the junk it went. Not a good use of money.

RAM builds some heavy duty smart stuff. After previously buying a $100 mount that fit my phone perfect – I then got a new bigger phone and realized finding a universal mount would be smarter. This one came highly recommended and I know why.

It takes a beating and never drops the phone! I’ve been a RAM fan ever since that day. This is now my third purchase of this mount. I have one on all my recreational vehicles and recommend them to all my friends.

These off road vehicles take a beating, get rained on, mud, sand, dirt then at the end of the day they get hosed off. Couldn’t ask for a better grip. Only issue I’ve ever had is the rubber stoppers on each arm aren’t affixed – they are simply pushed on.

After loosing one I ended up taking all mine off and epoxying them back on so they don’t slowly back out again. They are available for purchase separately if you do loose one though so that’s good.

I like all the RAM mount system. It’ s clever, robust, reliable, fast and easy fitted. I use it for camera mounts in air planes, on and in cars. The x- Grip Cradle is the perfect mounting system to use a Mobile Phone as a Navigation Device clamped to the Motorcycle.

It is designed for large phones like Samsung Note 8 and iPhone 7 plus type phones. It is easy to securely install the Though-Claw on the handle bar and also easy to remove in case you want to move the Though-Claw between your vehicles.

It does come with the extra rubber holder to secure your phone. If you have a large phone make sure you get (RAM-HOL-UN10-400). Don’t get the smaller version. Some sellers claim the smaller version fits large phones but even though you can squeeze in a iPhone 7 Plus, it is to tight and the smaller version x-grip will interfere with your phone buttons.

I’ve bee looking for a mount that was strong enough to handle bouncing around on 4wd tracks as I was tired of my phone ending up on the floor. I am also trying to buy less Made in China gear. So far, so good with the RAM mount.

Haven’t been off-road with it yet but it’s pretty clear this thing is designed to handle some rough treatment. The X-grip design holds on tight, and the suction cup mount is super easy to take on and off.

Very impressed with this product so far.

This thing is massive, stable, and strong well made product. I have had other RAM mounts before and was pleased with their performance so I am a repeat customer. Definitely on the pricey side but you get what you pay for and this mount is interchangeable with all of my other ram mounts.

I would recommend without reservation.

The item itself is well built & does exactly what it says – the only downside I have with it is it can be a bit fidgety to get the phone in; it’s a 2 handed job. My wife whose hands are a bit smaller does struggle to get the grips open with one hand and put the phone in with the other.

Overall though it is very solid and hasnt moved around like my previous air conditioner style mounts.

I’m extremely satisfied with this purchase. The quality of parts and ease of assembly is nothing short of what I have come to expect from this manufacturer. A very good product that works as advertised at an affordable price.

Possibly even more satisfying than the actual product was the exceptionally fast service from Hurtlegear. The turn-around was lightning quick. Product was adequately packaged and arrived undamaged. I really appreciate the swift service.

Haven’t quite worked out what the rubber webbing is for, so I just placed it on the X-grip so that it acts like a hammock. The clamping force seems more than adequate. Have not put it through the wheelie test just yet, but I’m quite confident it would endure it.

Ever been out on a ride and you don’t know where you’re going? You stop, you fumble for your phone in the top inner pocket of your jacket. You get your bearings, put the phone back, then wonder is it right or left at the 3rd corner?Wonder no more.

I mounted the RAM in about 3 minutes. I lost one of the rubber covers for the ends of the U bolt while installing. That will teach me to be more attentive. I wasn’t convinced the rubber net would hold the phone within the claw, but it does, even at 110KPH.

The Zthou has never been more practical. Satnav chows down on the battery so make sure you take an external recharger with you. The unit will take an all-weather cover for your phone if you’re the kind of chap who fancies getting wet and cold.

I have had one for several years previously on my BMW and now on my Africa Twin it has been on one or other of my bikes for close on 60,000km around Australia, into the centre and Cooktown to Wilson’s Promontory on all manner fo roads and tracks and held my iphone 5 and now 7+ securely every inch of the way.

These RAM mounts are the best there is. Hurtle Gear very efficient with the supply and delivery to Qld from WA. I ordered the afternoon before Xmas and it arrived the first business day after Xmas, how good is that.

As a Package Delivery driver, I purchased this product maybe 2 years ago. Using it to hold my phone in place for navigation purposes. After driving on all kinds of rough roads, gravel roads, pot hole filled roads, never one time has my phone fell off of the magnet.

It has made my job much easier, not having to fiddle with the phone at all. The clip on the vent in incredibly strong, as well as the magnet. I simply type in the address, get my phone even close to the magnet, it clicks into place and away I go.

I’m not big on product reviews, this being my 1st one. But I have to give credit where it is due. This is a wonderful product!.

As a police officer it is difficult to keep your phone in one spot while driving (especially emergency runs) and it needs to be handy incase you get an important call. This product made that easy. My phone was constantly sliding in the cracks between the seats until I got this product.

Just plop it on the vent and you’re good to go. The only reason this gets 4 stars is because during an emergency run, I hit a bump and the clip broke. That being said, for normal day to day use I do not think it would have broke.

It’s still a great product. I have thought about getting another but I’ve upgraded phones and would need the plus size this time. Just not sure I want to spend $42 on it. Overall it is a great innovative design and I believe it would stand up to normal day to day use with zero issues.

Mine lasted over a year of fairly rough use!.

The only real complaint I have is about the windshield mount. The arm is way to short and it needs to extend for different vehicles. The current length is fine for a passenger car but it’s was too short for a semi truck.

I was a bit surprised at just HOW BIG & TALL this one is. I purchased a cup holder mount a week or so earlier that was WAY TOO SHORT for my Infiniti cupholder due to how tall the armrest is. The base is a tad too large for the mounted sleeve in the cupholder port however I was able to “massage it” down into the opening.

😉 This one MORE THAN CLEARS the large center armrest and will pretty much be at near eye level. Thus far the quality appears to be good and fairly sturdy. Just be careful about hitting this mount as again it is pretty “girthy” in size.

I have NO problem mounting my Samsung S10 Plus 5G cell phone into the adjustable holder. It gives a few “clicks” as you tighten it down onto the device and didn’t appear to lose any of its hold on the phone.

I’ll continue to play with the swinging arm and rotating phone holder base and see if I can position it just a tad lower for my field of vision. The swinging arm makes moving it over out of the way without having to pull it out of the cupholder a nice and helpful touch especially again seeing how I “negotiated” it fitting into the cup holder itself.

The ONLY suggestion thus far I could make is that the base could actually be a tad smaller since it will adjust to become BIGGER if needed.

Have used only a few weeks but am pleased with the purchase. Seems sturdy and hopefully will wear well. With phone in place – no sound vibrations but, if not using phone – sound vibrations can be a nuisance.

A little larger than I thought but, thankful due to my car’s dash configuration, no controls are hidden or blocked. Price seems vey reasonable.

There must be 1000’s of phone holders available. I haven’t tried them all but I’ve tried a few. This one suits me just right. It performs as described. It is constructed as described. I most enjoy the fact that I can very clearly see the phone and have access to you (if I choose to) while I’m in my car.

I looked at a few of the products offered to hold a phone on a dashboard vent and this looked to be among the best. It does require you to stick a metal plate to either your phone or to the phone case, but gives you two plates so you can chose.

I like that is it compact. All the holders I looked at that had clamping arms around the phone did not seem solid enough. This holds the phone solid enough for all but hitting the worst pot holes. It is also very easy to attach and detach the phone.

The only reason to give it 4 stars instead of 5 is that it is heavy with the phone attached. This means if your dash vent is adjustable up and down, it will pull it into the down position which may angle the phone out of view.

I was unable to use the vent to the right of my steering wheel for that reason. however, since the vent to the left of my steering wheel is circular, I can rotate that so the movement is left and right, not up and down, so it works.

The only other disadvantage goes with any vent-mounted phone holder: it blocks most of the air coming from that vent, be it hot or cold. The mount does hold onto the vent well and does hold the phone well.

it is a good choice if you don’t want to sacrifice a cup holder or mount it on your dash or windshield.

I wanted something reasonably priced to keep my phone in easy view for using map navigation while driving. This works well on my car vent and holds the phone securely. My only issue is the magnet on the case is preventing my phone from charging wirelessly, which is what I normally do at my office desk.

So, that’s a bummer. The instructions DO mention this could happen, but when I first tested it before adhering the magnet permanently, it appeared to still charge (the charging symbol does show up on the phone), but it’s not actually taking charge.

I might get a new case and use the smaller magnet – this product comes with two magnets, one larger and one smaller.

I used to have a similar product that fit into the CD player slot, but my new car doesn’t have a CD player, so I was looking for a magnetic holder that would work in this vehicle. The iOttie does the trick! The jaws are a little hard to open to get it onto the vent fin, but once it is there and the collar tightened, it holds really well.

I especially like that I can put the magnetic plate in between my phone and its case without having to attach the sticky side to my phone and it still works solidly. I definitely recommend this product!.

This phone mount gets the job done. It’s exactly what I wanted. It’s easy to install and holds the phone securely even on bumpy rides. At first, I didn’t tighten it too snuggly and it would slide around the handlebar with the weight of the phone when I passed a bump on the ride, but that stopped happening once I fasted it very tightly.

The only criticism I have is that the phone mount is as easy to install as it is to take off, which can make it tempting for thieves. My first one got stolen while my bike was locked outside while I was at work.

So maybe they should consider making a version that bolts to the handlebar and requires a tool to take off. I hope for whoever has my phone mount now that it’s being as useful to them as it was to me.

Because I was really pleased with the product I bought a new one, but now I only install it when I need it for navigation or when I want to listen to music during my ride.

Lightweight and simple, easy to use and holds phone sufficiently on pavement. Good for the price. I ride 28 miles a day commuting, including 8 mi of gravel, so take this with a grain of salt: My iPhone 11 with slim case jiggles loose after hitting bumps at 15mph and after ~10 min on gravel (high frequency small bumps?) or jumping curbs and train tracks.

Phone has not dropped, just one or two bands come off. If you’re wearing full gloves, it’s not easy to remove and replace your phone. Not easy to quickly remove to take a pic. It’s not hard, it’s just not quick.

I keep a hair tie on it for security and that works well but it’s another obstacle. So yes I’ll recommend it but not for MTB or gravel. oh and of course it’s not waterproof, and don’t imagine you can strap a waterproof case to it – you cannot.

I got this product based on the manufacturer’s claim that it could fit any phone. I had a Pixel 4 XL and had even seen reviews on here that a device of that size would fit. Unfortunately after only three rides (of less than an hour each!) the mount snapped, sending my phone flying into traffic.

It was shattered back and front. REI refunded me when I came in but I’m reluctant to trust Nite Ize’s claims in the future. I think they need to specify more clearly the parameters of phone size that work with this product.

I had to buy a new cell phone because of this! I’m reluctant to trust them in the future. The larger iPhones or Androids are best kept in a different style of mount than this :/.

I was worried about spending a little bit more money for a quality mount not knowing how it was going to perform. Especially since I had just bought another brand a week before for about half the price.

It was junk and I couldn’t get it sturdy enough due to the ball being plastic so my footage was really shaky. Then later on after receiving my tackform mount. I was very impressed by the quality and how sturdy and solid it sits once it’s all snug.

I highly recommend tackform mounts. I will buy more in the future.

We used this on our Razor to hold the phone so we could use the off-road trail maps while riding. The phone didn’t move at all, the mount held it steady while doing some serious 4-wheeling and rock climbing.

The best part is, it’s easy to remove the phone when you need to and put it back in when your ready to go again. We liked it so well on the way home we ordered another one for our 4 seat Razor.

If you’re looking for a phone mount that’s high quality, sturdy, and looks good then get this one. Super easy install, really high quality, and fits perfect. Phone doesn’t move at all in the Jeep!

Has great holding power and the ability to flex into view of the driver is a must in my opinion! The only draw back is id recommend to use double sided tape and screws to mount the base system to the dash of your vehicle.

Product arrived earlier than expected. very good product and easy to use.

When I bought this it said it was for large tablets and I didn’t notice the dimensions listed. By the time I got it, it was too late to get something else and most of the large tablet holders were out of stock anyhow.

I extended the arms and it did a surprisingly good job of holding a 10″ tablet. The only design issue I see is that when clamped, the arms can still rotate in the slots, which caused the tablet to rotate a bit while off roading.

If you clamp it off center that problem is basically cured. The arm/clamp/ball design works great.

All the other major options for Jeep’s mount up using the dash tray and hold the phone up high, at or above the dash level. I wanted a solution that held the phone lower where I could rest my elbow on the center armrest and use the phone from there.

This vent mount has been excellent for phone placement and lets me easily adjust it. My only concern, which may not really be legit, is that the phone mount spring tension is so high that it makes getting the phone in & out a little awkward for me.

And it also creates some pressure on the mounting bracket inside the vent. Which might be just fine, but does make me pause a bit. I also wanted a magnet option, which isn’t available through Offroam.

I know the concern there is that everyone wants a secure phone holder for wheeling. I get it. But I’d rather have a magnet mount option for my M-F driving, with their base mount for wheeling. It’s a super easy switch out.

I ended up buying a magnet mount with a 20mm ball attachment from another supplier and I mount it to this vent mount during the week. It is actually VERY strong and might work wheeling. We will see. Bottom line: If you want a phone mount that isn’t so damn high on the dashboard, but this vent mount!! Then accessorize it as helpful for your purposes with other 20mm ball accessories.

I was a bit hesitant on grabbing a mount that attached to the ac vent… I was very pleased with the fitment and adjustability of the mount. It allowed me to mount toward bottom of vent which placed the phone below dash and out of the way of both radio and no ac blockage.

Very steady mount! Phone does not move or bounce around. For the price, I would of liked to see this mount magnetic and wireless charge… considering changing out the clamp to allow for this. I use the Magbak case and those magnets are extremely strong.

Would lock the phone in and not provide any faults. Considering the Magbak wireless charger to add. Honestly, it’s a solid mount that works with whatever case or wallet you have attached. If your hesitant on the mount, I say try it.

You won’t be disappointed.

Been using this for about 6 weeks now. It holds very well on my ’21 JLU 4xe. No wiggle at all during my mild offroad (2+ Trails) experiences. I chose the vent to the left of the driver’s seat as a cost-saving alternative to my desired A-Pillar grab-handle mounting point.

At the installation angle I selected, it is just far enough away from the turn signal lever that it does not interfere (about 1 inch between them). I’ve never had it bumped or be in my way getting in and out of the vehicle.

One handed loading and unloading of my encased S20 is no problem and a gentle touch is not required. However I do believe if I were to be negligent or malicious it would be possible to break important plastic on the dash.

I would buy this product again.

Great simple product! Very very strong magnet, hang the phone on the fridge whilst your in the kitchen, where you can easily see the screen! Stick it to the shelves in the workshop, for the same reason, where you can easily see the screen.

Working under the car and using the phone as a light or a youtube guide to carry out a repair, simply hang it from the chassis or your tool box. The ball mount enables you to use an early iPhone mount to hold the subsequent phone versions in the same cradle, my tip, order some more of the Steelie stick-on magnetic phone mounts at the same time! Enjoy!.

I got mine from Home Depot, but the ball refuses to stick to ANYTHING on my dash. I even tried to epoxy the ball to the plastic piece that you use for the phone side and stick that to the dash and that didn’t work either.

The only thing that sticks is the small magnet to my phone case. Before the ball fell off the dash with my phone attached, it just slid down and wouldn’t stay upright. The only positive is that the phone magnet worked like a charm whenever my phone was against metal.

But that was it. And even that started to get annoying. Worst 30 or so bucks I’ve ever spent. Do not recommend!.

I bought 1 YEARS AGO and it still use it (same one!) Changed phones 3 times and vehicle once. I tried many others before I got mine. Phone always wound up falling/bouncing off all others. NEVER has fallen off since I got it.

Adhesives worked great. When it changed car had an extra adhesives to use. When it changed phones in ended up using super glue. Tough to switch to a new case BUT it worked! ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT.

Just wish I could buy extra adhesives dots. Getting another one to use on my boat.

I Replaced the Ram Mount Phone Holder i had been using with the Zugo Holder, they both hold the phone securely but the Zugo Holder Looks Better but also allows for more mounting possibilities for about 1/3 the price after $10 Shipping.

Additionally, My Phone is an iPhone 13 w/Otter Box and near fully extended the Zugo Holder Fits and holds securely. but much Wider and it wouldn’t have fit.

It’s keeps a nice firm grip on the phone and is adjustable for just about every phone. Overall easy setup.

This think is perfect! I’ve got the Samsung z flip and i can clamp it in and unfold while locked in!

I’ve been struggling with a magnet style holder in my 6 tonne work truck for ages, every trip in the truck my Phone falls off. But not after purchasing this Ram mount. I’m blown away by how sturdy this thing is.

The build quality is miles above any other mount out there and its super easy to set up and use. Phone stays in place 100% of the time now. Yes, it’s more expensive than other phone mounts, but I dare say I will never need to buy another one for a very long time, quite possibly ever.

I 100% recommend this great device. If your sick and tired of struggling with your current phone mount. buy a RAM.

After years of having cheap and mid priced phone mounts fail or regularly come unstuck often with horrific results I decided to bite the bullet and purchase a RAM mount. Honestly this was the best decision I’ve made, the suction cup grips so well and the X mount cradles my phone beautifully.

Without doubt these are the best cradles on the market and by far and away the best made. They are not light but they are very sturdy. I took mine out on the first day for some fairly intense off-roading in my 4WD and the mount never missed a beat.

Did not trust my other phone holders. I swear the last was scratching the corners of my Jet Black iPhone. Taking no such chances with my iPhone X though even though it’s glass it has polished steel on the sides.

So I bought the aptly named X-Grip phone holder which has 4 rubber holders in the shape of an X. Not only does rubber grip the phone tightly they’re sloped inward so the phone cannot slip out. It was delivered next day! Happy to recommend these people and their products.

This product is called a “Car Dash & Windshield Mount”. Otterbox should drop the words “dash mount” from the product description because the dash adhesive disk lasted all of one week. I followed all protocols for the best installation.

Cleaned the dash first with water and dried. Then with alcohol wipe and dried. Installed the adhesive dash disk on a flat surface on my Toyota Camry giving it time to adhere. Then installed the mount arm suction onto the dash disc adhered to the dash.

All worked well for one week. Then I noticed that the arm began sagging. Inspecting the mount I discovered that the adhesive disc had come unglued from the dash. I believe that Otterbox owes me another adhesive disc to at leas try this again before I return it for a refund.

Purchased this because I was anticipating great quality because it is Otterbox. I was looking for something MagSafe as well as something small and discreet to hold my phone. Minutes after purchase, I went out to the car to put it in (still in the parking lot) It was very difficult to push the button down and get the clamps open it was almost like the rubber pieces had adhered together and no matter how hard you squeezed, it didn’t work.

Returned it. Got a different one (exchanged) went out to the car and it broke my car vent. I JUST BOUGHT THIS CAR LAST WEEK. BRAND NEW OFF THE LOT 3 MILES… BROKEN VENT. MUCH APPRECIATED WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME.

I HAVE COMPLETELY LOST FAITH IN OTTERBOX. VERY VERY MAD.

Well worth it. Ive been using ARKON mega grip (fits all my iphones 1st gen, now I have a 7) for 14 years. Very happy user. Made well, for $30-40 depends who you get it from. Ives used with long neck for my dodge dually, I have one on my dash in my 4 dr Jeep, 1 in my Acura, 1 in hubbys Toyota work truck, got two for my parents cars and 1 for my sons little two dr 2wd Toyota truck – no one has complained about it.

I have two of these, and have also purchased two or three other brands of the same kind of rig. I find the Arkon to be overall the highest quality, especially in terms of stability; once you have it adjusted to your needs and the phone inside it, it stays that way.

One con is that the feet can get lost, thus rendering the whole thing useless. So, be careful of your feet, and this is the brand for you.

Very practical, easy to use, and worth the money spent. Good purchase. Highly recommended!!!
