Overall, this is an excellent product in my opinion. I’ll make my review short and sweet. PROS: – Significantly expands number of USB ports, with (9) USB ports and (1) dedicated charging port. – Blue USB indicator light shows which ports are active (this helps diagnose connection issues) and Green power indicator light shows when the device is plugged into the wall (Yes, I’ve made that mistake wondering why it won’t work.

I am unsure if this is computer related, user device related, or the actual product. I speculate the product randomly causes this. A simple unplugging of the user device from the product USB port and plugging it back in resolves the issue.

Not a major problem by any means. – Requires cable management if you regularly have a lot of accessories plugged in. (but if you’re in tech, you’re nerdy and like doing cable management, so maybe this isn’t a con? :p ) ^That’s it.

I don’t have a lot of negative things to say about it. As a traveling photographer, videographer, I have to travel with several drives and be able to access multiple cards simultaneously. This is the tool I use to get it done.

It goes everywhere I go along with my laptop. With some clever cable management, I have coupled it together with the power supply multiple drives to quickly connect all my accessories either contained neatly in my office, or fitting in a traveling backpack.

In 2013, I spent $58. 74 on a 7-port USB 3. 0 hub. Due to normal wear and tear (pulling USB cords in and out), 3 of the ports broke/jammed within the last year, which left me with 4 ports–2 of which are ‘plug and stay.

‘ Not only was that USB hub large, it took up a lot of desk space and required an extra wall outlet as well as an extra USB connection. Said that to say that the Targus 4-port does the job of the 7-port I purchased 7YRS ago.

I love that it barely takes up space and I have the option of traveling with it even though I won’t. I honestly don’t notice the difference in speed from 3. 0 to 2. 0 and that may be because the primary output is the printer.

The other plug and stay connection is a laptop stand that has a fan for cooling. I charge mobile devices on the other 2 ports (usually at night) so I don’t notice a significant difference in speed. Because I don’t know how long the USB ports will last, I hesitate to provide a 4-star rating so soon after purchase; 7YRS can’t be compared to 2WKS! I will say that brand reputation was an important factor in my decision-making.

This is my first Targus product, but not the first time I heard of the brand. Even though I won’t give it 4 stars (longevity is not fully vetted), I would recommend the product for its other features.

There are times when a user needs more usb ports on their machines. I have seen this on all-in-one computers and on laptops. These are also nice for your not wearing out the existing usb ports on your computer.

Especially if you’re using multiple thumb drives.

I bought this thinking I could charge several devices. For some reason I haven’t been able to get it to charge my IPAD. It does work with a desk organizer I got at Sam’s Club which in turn lets me charge my IPHONE, but I haven’t been able to get both Apple devices charging at the same time.

I’d return it, but I’ve lost the original packaging.

Great little hub that is slim and portable yet also works in a desktop setup. Power Delivery works great with my new Dell XPS 13 2 in 1 and has just enough ports. Also works without a power adapter as just a USB hub (great for travel).

I was looking for one to use with external monitors (one USB and one HDMI) and also for something that was portable and connected via a detachable cable (this was one of the few I could find). It works great although it is pricey (doesn’t even come with a power adapter).

Only wish there were a Thunderbolt version with more bandwidth for higher refresh rates and USB C ports (luckily my laptop comes with two Thunderbolt ports). I ended up buying another Thunderbolt dock for desktop use (Anker Powerexpand Elite) but am still happy with this one and will keep it in my bag.

Really liking this USB Hub, its the best of the lot. I have 3 others here in my office and the StayGo is by far the most versatile hub of all of them. The longer cable for my desktop allows me to clear a massive amount of cable clutter off my desk, easily stored under my desk with soft Velcro dots leaving just one cable to connect to my MacBook.

This can also be removed and used on the go by disconnecting the cables and take with you when you need to leave the office. Build quality is really nice, feels and acts like a well build unit. Overall super happy with this purchase, just wish I found this a year ago!!.

Using with M1 Macbook air & it does the job very well. Your macbook charger plugs into the staygo so u still have a free port on the mba. Nice long usb cable included, plus a tiny one that tucks inside the unit for use on the go.

I believe this is the best version of the Insignia 4-port USB hub available on Best Buy. It’s the thinnest and smallest, it has a 2-computer switcher button, it’s 3. 0 (3. 1 Gen 1), and it’s the least expensive.

I bought this so I could hook up a web camera, Bluetooth mouse, LED light, Stream Deck, and microphone to record videos. The only downside is that it doesn’t seem to transmit data along with the power, so it doesn’t work with my webcam or microphone.

It powers them, but doesn’t transmit data, so there’s no signal. Keep that in mind if you’re looking for one that does. Those are more expensive and often have a separate power source. They also have fewer ports.

So there’s a trade-off. In any case, this hub, combined with the 3 ports on my laptop, are enough for what I want to do, so long as those two data-driven devices are plugged straight into the laptop.

I never seem to have enough USB ports and this hub helps a lot. I am only using it with one device even though it supports two. The USB ports are fast. I have the hub plugged into a USB port on my computer and ALSO plugged into the wall.

Sometimes I get a Windows message that a USB wants more power than the PC can supply. That’s a little scary because I don’t want to burn any thing out. One reviewer said that this is a good power hub but does not support data.

Bought this to use for its switching functions between my personal and work computer. As a switch it worked well. Unfortunately my personal computer or keyboard and mouse seem to have problems with drivers.

The problem occurs if I switch to the work computer for more than a few minutes. When I switch back to my personal computer it can’t find the USB devices. I believe this is an issue with my personal computer and not the switch.

A good useful item. A similar 7-port USB 3. 0 would be better! Delivered in four days from purchase date at a Staples in-store kiosk. Pros: Its small size was handy for permanent mounting on my desktop and keypad tray.

Installed quickly to my Windows XP & 7 automatically at time of plug-in, without me doing anything else on either machine. On/off & LED indicators are a big help to me in order not to not load unwanted drives or other devices (Soft touch button operation).

Read my 128gb thumbdrive and 5tb disc drive, and does not appear to have a size limit, or if it does, it is larger than 5TB. Came with 18″ USB A cable & power adapter* (See below). Cons: Cannot put full size USB plugs into each others adjacent slots.

Design will not allow that due to the closeness of its non-moveable receptors. My wide USB plugs must be staggered with narrow ones or omit the use of the terminals in between altogether. Input & power areas on same side which streamlines both function & looks, but faces in the opposite direction of my applications specific criteria.

It will work, but is not a neat/clean looking setup. The power adapter that came with it is the type that mounts lengthways in a power strip. This renders one plug on the strip non-usable, as this powerbase covers the adjoining socket holes.

The style that aligns itself across powerstrips would have been better for my application. 7-Port model not available here (Yet?).

Plugged it in and connected two flash drives. The iMac wouldn’t recognize the devices. Fooled around a while and got an error message on the iMac about power. Purchased the Sabrent 4a 5v Power Adapter and voila! It works!I suspect those who have had trouble getting devices to show up are attempting to draw too much power from the hub.

My recollection is that you can only draw 500 mA ( amp) for each device using bus power, so with whatever power the hub itself needs, there isn’t much left over for powering peripherals. I also suspect that disk drives and other peripherals with their own power supply will work fine.

But with the Sabrent 4a power adapter, you have about 1000 mA (1 amp) per device, and that seems to make everything work. I’m using the hub on a 2015 iMac which is reaching back a bit for compatibility.

This item works fine when only one USB port is being used. If however one of the USB ports on this unit is in use and another port, either on this unit or somewhere else on the computer, is also in use, the OS is unable to eject any of the attached USB units (yes, I am using USB memory units that normally can be ejected).

Further in at least one case, the system was unable to shut down. My OS is windows 7. It appears that with multiple USB memory units in use, while one is on this unit, the OS is unable to unmount the units, and this locks up shutdown.

I stick with using only one USB unit at a time on this unit, which for me is fine (I got the unit to protect my USB port as I am plugging and unplugging memory units frequently). And I have never lost any data.

Maybe a later Windows works better with this unit; maybe my Windows 7 is not up-to-date.

Our old Android Galaxy S10+ had severe screen damage and so you couldn’t unlock or operate the phone. We used this device to Screen Mirror ( don’t use DEX function ) the faulty device so we could use Smart Switch to transfer our info to the new phone.

Plug in the HDMI cable to a TV and this device, Connect your damaged phone to this device via USB-C, connect a USB Mouse ( recent version – not old ) to this device, add power ( if needed ) via another power source to this device ( USB ).

Access the broken phone using mouse and tv screen, open up Smart Switch ( or download and install ) and proceed – use WIFI connection option between the phones, not cable option. Worked a treat and we saved our data from the old phone to the new phone!.

Pros: What it does, it does very well. Connects and powers up to 5 devices through3 standard USB ports, one new type C USB ports and HDMI. Cons: The description mentions ethernet but it does not have an ethernet connection port.

One of the reasons I was attracted to this device was the need to connect an ethernet cable to my computer. I sourced an ethernet adapter from elsewhere and connected it through the uSB-C port on this and it works fine.

Just irritated I needed an extra adapter.

Excellent little device! With a lot more laptops foregoing expansion ports in the name of sleekness, this hub has all the connections you’ll need without adding too much bulk, in fact for what it is it’s quite sleek.

I got 3 of these hubs in my studio All connected to synths or outboard gear All powered by external supply that’s a minor, you have to buy an extra power adapter to get everything controlled. Some synths don’t need power by USB but my Akai MPK49 keyboard and Roland Boutique’s do got some with extra long cables 3-5m and works fine, all in sync in the studio.

Seems to be faulty but am expecting a replacement from Elektron. It’s disappointing considering the expense of it so it’s a low rating from me. It must be said however, that Elektron have been rapid and friendly in their support response and are providing a solution.

I couldnt get it to work with a regular usb 3 hub. This one fixed everything. Overbridge on my digitakt and digitone now works great in mac mini m1 with big sur.

I don’t have any particular method to test the data transfer rate but I hooked up an Elgato CamLink to the USB hub and I can only get 480p out of it. When I plug directly into the computer I get the full 1080p 60fps.

The odd thing is that if you plug into a USB 2 port then the CamLink will tell you it needs USB 3. So, somehow it knows it’s USB 3, but only provides 480p. The only thing I can think is that the CamLink needs more power but this hub is externally powered with a 1A supply and it was the only thing plugged in so that doesn’t make sense to me.

I also tried plugging in an external CD-ROM device and it would not run applications from the CD-ROM, I had to copy the files to my local drive for them to open properly. It did run the applications from the CD-ROM when I plugged it into my computer directly.

Both of these issues are with external power and the USB cord attached. I’m debating returning it but I’m not sure if it’s specific to this brand/device or if I’d see the same issues with other hubs, I went with TP-Link as their products are usually good quality.

This is the 3rd powered USB hub I’ve tried with my 2014 MacBook Pro, and it’s the only one that could handle keyboard, mouse, bus powered hard drive, memory card reader, USB headset and a Wacom tablet, and all at the same time without a hiccup.

Have had no issues when waking laptop from sleep mode; didn’t miss a beat. Charging works well, feels well built, all plugs and connections are solid (and I bought mine used), so can’t speak to other reviews of loose connections and such.

I find this hub to be quite useful because I can space out three Bluetooth dongles on the front without having them right next to each other and then I still have 4 USB ports available for flash drives or other devices.

In addition, I can charge my devices such as my Logitech headset, AirPods Pro and iPhone 8 on the side without having my iPhone sync to my PC every time I plug it in to charge it. Plus, it looks really nice on my desk, but it does collect dust like any other black shiny object.

I was using a small 4-port hub that had a very loose connection, but I have a Surface that only has one USB connection. Using this new Adesso 7-port hub has made being on the Surface much easier so far.

I can have my wireless mouse plugged in, the thumb drives, the pedal and headphones I use for transcription plugged in, and still have room left over.

I finally decided to get this hub in order to eliminate the USB tangle behind my desktop case. What made this possible is the knuckle dragging motherboard vendors FINALLY recognizing USB hubs in the BIOS; had to wait over 15 YEARS to get this capability.

Just got delivery of this hub and am both happy but sad. It works great IF you do not plug it into an outlet. I got a message that it was drawing too much power and my comp early 2013 iMac disabled it.

I just left it plugged into my comps usb spot and was able to use it fine.

I did what most would do, and try to purchase this type balancing the price. The price was good, and it works with MOST all devices I have plugged in (iphone/watch cords, thumb drives, wireless charging pads, pokemon plus).

It worked with all items, but it did have a hard time identifying some non-PC items (it really didn’t like some charging pads). Other ports I have, like this, don’t have this problem. This one, happens to have the most ports of any I have had, and I have had issues with it slowing my system down.

I had to replace my wireless mouse (usb) with a blue tooth version, as it seems to conflict. I have used said mouse in other ports on same machine, with no issue, so it definitely is related to the device.

Now I must deal with the perils of blue tooth related mouse (waiting for it to make up, etc), but I no longer have system lag due to the device. So if you are looking for a fluent transition while using this, don’t bother.

I received this in the mail on time. I had previously put up a review saying that this USB Hub lights up. Yes, it is SUPPOSED to light up, but not every light turns on when a USB Cord is plugged into it.

In fact, only ONE light lights up and the rest do NOT. However. it still charges things and my computer still recognizes what is plugged into the Hub. Kinda disappointing, though, that I spent all that money purchasing this one and it doesn’t even work like it’s supposed to.

I wish there was still a Fry’s Electronics around so I could find one exactly like I had which worked great for about 7 years. This USB Hub has the amount of ports in it that I wanted though. I just wish ALL the lights lit up.

So far, this little hub is great. Im a stickler for wires and usb cords hanging all over and I havent routed it to my PC tower on the opposite end of my desk, so I cant speak to the data transfer speeds of it but I will say it does a fine job charging most devices.

I have noticed that a few of the ports on one side seem to get refused by my apple lighting cables, so Im chalking that up to Apple being a stickler on undercharge/overcharge parameters set forth in iOS itself.

Aside from that, its fine. I will say I wish you could designate which ports stayed on or off with toggles instead of one toggle to rule them all but its okay. All is well.

As soon as you take this USB hub out of its box, you realise you are holding a quality piece of kit. It has a nice feel to it. Plug it in, and it just works. If you plug a phone into one of the three heavy-duty ports, you get a good charge rate.

I’ve done data transfer tests from a very fast PC to USB hard drives via this, and get excellent transfer rates. Speed is limited by the hard drives in question, not the USB hub. The only trouble I’ve had is with below-par USB 3.

0 cables. Swapping them out for shorter, quality cables solved that. The supplied USB 3. 0 cable was one metre long, which was too short for my needs. I bought a good-quality two-metre one, and had no problems with that.

This is a small but perfectly formed extension hub. Beautifully designed with a black surround that appears sturdy. One negative is the product is a little lightweight and easily moves when knocking cables.

The size of the UH700 belies its powerful output quality for charging products. 7 USB 3. 0 ports. 4 normal data support hubs with a further three that offer a power output that are perfect for charging the various tech products we all have.

The hub itself is small and doesn’t take much space on the night stand. I am able to charge my phone, tablet, earphone, and Fitbit watch at night. Thr product came with two power cables. One is a wall charger and one is an USB connector to connect to, for example, a laptop.

Overall, the design seems solid. Durable and sleek. The over 3 ft USB cable was just long enough to have this sitting out of the way on my desk. All of the ports on my computer are used up so this was desired to make it easier for me to hook up what I needed when I needed.

Unfortunately, I seemed to have issues with this thing disconnecting devices from the computer at random. While working with a portable hard drive, the drive would randomly disappear on my computer. I would have to unplug and replug it back in to continue working.

It happened enough times to be more than just a fluke. And it happened on more than one port of the device. I have two other external drives that stay plugged into my computer for my wife to work on photos.

They would randomly disappear as well. My wireless mouse also seemed glitchy when the dongle was plugged into this device. Almost stuttery, which is not good when gaming. Even my mobile card reader gave me issues with this device.

Overall, I wanted to like this device. The glitchiness with every device I had plugged in, when those same devices work without fail in the ports on my computer, made me choose to return this.

This hub was top of my list before reading a lot of reviews on this site for various other USB hubs. I bought this hub for two key reasons – it’s mains powered (see my comment below*) and has the added bonus of a fast charge port – two things other hubs didn’t provide (as well as the number of USB ports in the hub itself).

I’m glad I chose this hub. The cable connecting hub to USB 3. 0 port is long enough to ensure a consistent, secure connection (some cables of same type/thickness/rigidity are ridiculously short, ergo necessitating workarounds like cable ties/gaffa tape/double sided tape etc to keep things in place in case the cable moves slightly and causes a brief loss of full connectivity – something that can be really annoying, e.

g. when working on files stored on external hard drives). (While not a significant decider for me, it may be for some?) It’s low profile – sleek. It’s also well designed and sturdy. Hub design allows easy access to ports without disturbing other connections.

However, (as with ANY low profile USB hub) care does need to be taken removing connectors when there are others either side of it. That said? The USB ports on this hub are not flimsy, and the connections are secure.

Therefore, it’d take quite a bit of mishap/effort to dislodge another connection. It *is fully plug and play – no reboot required or anything. I connected multiple devices at once – mouse, keyboard, external hard drive, two phones for access to files on them, a USB drive dedicated to ReadyBoost, and one of my security cameras.

Being the most ‘resource hungry’ device I connected, my 4TB drive took the longest to be recognised, though still not a significant delay – i. e. a few more minutes than less resource intensive devices, as one could resonably expect.

Mentioned only as something to be mindful of after connecting devices to the hub and experiencing the ‘is it/will it work?’ wait as things are prioritised by operating system/system settings. While I’ve had zero problems with anything I’ve connected? Suggest if device isn’t recognised? Try disconnecting/reconnecting, use OS driver update options.

and/or the thing everyone seems to loathe doing because it means closing a bazillion browser tabs one’s had open for years/multiple apps with multiple unsaved files (or similar) – reboot 😉 *I highly recommend choosing a hub that has a mains powered option (cable included is icing), because relying on USB power alone isn’t the best for responsiveness/performance/battery life/longevity.

Highly recommend this hub – also a very well priced option vs others. Would buy again. Performance, functionality, value for money – checks all the right boxes as far as I’m concerned. No cons to note – the following isn’t something that’s an issue for me personally.

Maybe (maybe) the power cable plug might be too big for some people? Because it IS slightly wider than one socket on a ‘normal’ spaced power board. However, a power board with wider spaced sockets is an easy fix.

Given some/many power cable plugs ARE wider? A power board with additional space between sockets should really be standard kit for anyone setting up a device haven/home office/IT cave/gaming den/whatever.

As noted – it’s NOT something I consider a deal breaker, especially considering the hub is mains powered, thus the pros are numerous – performance being a major one.

I bought this since I use a lot of USB devices and my laptop does not have enough USB slots for all of these devices. It’s an easy set up and is sleek enough to keep on the desk without taking up too much room.

However, you may need some sort of cable management if you’re using cables on this (a couple of cables end up cluttering the desk using this). There’s one port that’s for fast charging but I haven’t really noticed any difference in charging times when I use it.

I plugged in a USB-powered LED light/lamp and it kind of flickers or is dimmer compared to wall outlet-powered or directly plugged into the computer. I have a wired mouse and I plugged it into the end slot but it didn’t seem to work.

Haven’t used the other connections yet. Decent item, decent price, good usability.

My laptop has only two USB ports but my work-from-home situation requires additional devices. This hub worked fine for a few weeks, used for my wireless keyboard/mouse receiver and my headphones. Then the ports started failing one by one.

At first I thought it was batteries in my mouse dying or damaged wiring in my headset, but these devices work fine when plugged directly into a laptop USB port. Only one port on the hub works now, rendering it completely useless.

Would not recommend this item or onn products in general if they can’t manufacture something as simple as a USB hub.

I have wanted one of these for a very long time but dragged my feet in getting one, always scolding myself for not when I had to charge many things at once. Murphy’s Law that everything needs charging at once.

I have 2 things connected at all times and 4+ others that need periodic charging. This presented a great opportunity especially during work from home. The HUB attached to one USB in one compact location allowing 4 separate plug-ins, leaving my other three USBs available.

I Purchased this hub to replace the one I’ve been using for many years. I wish I had not waited so long. Set up was as simple as plugging the device in. Also, I love having extra ports available for my use.

I will use this device in my home office. However, it is small, compact, lightweight and would be a good addition for someone’s PC backpack.

The NXT Technologies 7-Port USB 3. 0 Powered Hub is working great with my external systems! The external hard drives are working fine, with good connections and plenty of power. Likewise, the DVD R/W and both printers are working fine.

This was a good recommendation by the technician at Staples, and I’m happy to recommend it myself. It was a smart buy!.

My old 7 port ativa Mobile IT hub died. I found the NXT was the best value 7 port hub. It works fine. I do wish the ports had a led lights to show when ports are active (in use) & also wish there were 5 ports on the back & 2 on the sides.

Having 3 in back & 3 in the front creates more clutter in the front on my desk.

I needed a powered hub or a docking station to use with my laptop when I’m at my desk. But I’m cheap. I didn’t want to spend $50-$100, but I also shy away from no-name cables, hubs, charges etc, because of the potential damage they can do you your equipment.

I tried some Ugreen cables a while ago when they were on special at Amazon and was pretty impressed with the quality, so I figured I’d give this hub a try. I ran the hub through some tests using large video files.

I have found that if a hub is going to fail on a file transfer it usually fails when transferring larger files. The results were as follows: Ext SSD to Internal SSD, very fast – No external power supply USB 3.

0 Thumb Drive to Ext SSD – Very Fast – No external power supply 1Gb Ext Mechanical HDD to Ext SSD fast – no external power supply. 4Gb External HDD – Failed to spin up without external power supply – Ext SSD, Thumb drive and Ext 1 Gb mechanical drive were all still plugged in.

– I kinda expected that to fail. My goal was to see if adding the external Power Supply actually provided any benefit. I plugged a usb power supply into the power in port and the 4Gb drive spun up and was able to transfer files to the Ext 1Gb drive.

I have found that some less expensive hubs have a hard time mediating large file transfers between to external drives attached to that hub. That does not appear to be a problem with this hub. I do wish the cord was a little longer, but since this is probably just a person preference, i don’t this it’s right to knock the rating down for that.

Overall seems to be a really good value for the money. Since Rov and Aukey have disappeared from Amazon, I’ll be considering Ugreen and an inexpensive accessories supplier.

Works great if you need more USB ports like I did on a Surface Pro 4 which gives you just one. This will split one into four ports and offers speeds up to 5gb/s. (Speeds vary on what type of USB port you use and the devices you are using.

) Example. Using this plugged into USB 2. 0 ports will impact speeds and power available to the usb port you are using will impact your performance of devices. Same in reverse. If you use an older device that does not support those high speeds, you will never see the top speeds.

When you use this, you must keep in mind the number of devices you can use depends on your USB power port. (Not all created equal. ) Some have less power than others. USB 1 and 2 will go to about 500mAh, USB 3.

0 can go to 900 mAh and USB 3. 1 can go upwards of 3000 mAh or 3 amps. Saying that, I am able to run a Micro 32gb Samsung USB drive, connect a phone usb adapter and use it to connect a usb to HDMI graphics adapter.

If you are using numerous devices and experience an issue, just plug in a Micro USB cord to a computer or wall adapter to give you the extra power you need. As always, I will update this review should this fail with ongoing use or develop issues.

Been using it for a long time now and it works great! I have like 5 things now that plug into my computer all the time but there were only 2 spots available on the computer itself (only because one of them was reserved for my mouse) so this helps a lot.

And the cord is super short so it’s not in the way. I even accidentally knocked my computer on the floor recently and no damage was done to the computer or this product so it’s pretty sturdy lol.

This USB hub allowed me to quickly and easily add four USB Type A standard ports to my laptop PC. My desktop PC was knocked out by a power surge (evidently from a lightning strike). To recover, I turned to my small-format laptop PC, but I needed to increase the number of USB Type A standard ports because the laptop had only two USB Type A ports.

The NXT Technologies 4-Port USB 3. 0 Hub allowed me to connect the hub itself to the laptop and then add a USB plug-in receiver for an outboard wireless keyboard, a USB thumb drive for data, and then daisy chain from the NXT hub to a USB dual hard drive docking station, which runs the old desktop’s hard drive as well as another USB thumb drive on the docking station.

And, I still have one available open USB port on the NXT hub! The NXT hub also has a power input plug and AC adapter for device charging, but I have not used that feature.

I’ve purchased other USB hubs prior and one of the biggest problems is that the cord was too short. The USB ports are on the back of my computer and having to plug in USB flash drives in was a pain. I would have to move the computer and then move it again to unplug.

The 4 port USB hub from NXT Technologies has a long cord so I no longer have to move the computer. Perfect!.

The USB Hub is great, fast and ideal for someone working in a stationary position. My only dislike is the cords. We need to be able to move around the office freely. No complaints other than that.

This makes my desk so much cleaner, and makes it easy to switch between home and work devices. When my spouse needs to take a video meeting, she can just plug her laptop right in and get the advantages of a great screen, camera, speakers, keyboard and mouse without needing to use my computer.

I researched the dock quite a bit before buying, and it actually works better than I expected it to. Pros: 1. Lots of ports 2. Can handle a Logitech Brio webcam — many hubs cannot 3. All of the buttons except one (join meeting) work with Windows AND ChromeOS 4.

The shape is great 5. Sound quality is decent 6. Microphone is good for speech Cons: 1. A tad pricey 2. No ethernet — I had to use another adapter 3. Join meeting button doesn’t work on ChromeOS 4. Volume changes can occur on ChromeOS without button presses — where the volume from the device does not match the OS volume.

This sometimes means the sound turns off entirely or gets really loud in the middle of a meeting. 5. If you use both the microphone button on the device and the one in the browser in ChromeOS, things get out of sync, and no one can hear you.

Never had this happen in Windows. I definitely recommend it if you are on Windows and Mac primarily. If you are on ChromeOS, be prepared for some hiccups, but it is quite functional. I switch between devices on an almost daily basis, and it handles that well.

How to make it perfect: 1. Ethernet port 2. A microphone better for more than just speech (such as music lessons) 3. Fewer bugs in the ChromeOS integration, and add “join meeting” support 4. Allow pairing bluetooth mice directly to the dock, instead of to a computer.

Also, ideally build in both other common types of Logitech dongle (unifying receiver and Logi Bolt). 5. Allow pairing arbitrary bluetooth headsets directly to the dock, instead of only supporting Logitech headphones.

After using the Logi Dock for a couple of months, it is still an integral part of my desktop. It’s a very good device. Does what it is supposed to and allowed me to remove some clutter from my desk, which I love.

Most of the time it is basically invisible, which it should be. I shouldn’t have to interact with my dock very often. Two, seemingly, simple things would have made this device perfect. First, it seems lie a no brainer that the Logi Dock should have a built-in unifying (or logi bolt) receiver.

I shouldn’t have to use an extra USB receiver to connect my Logitech MX keys and Logitech trackball. Second, the power output is only 100W, but many of the more powerful workstation grade laptops want more power.

My Dell precision, for example, has a warning about slow charging unless the power provided is a minimum of 130W. This is a minor issue (I hate having the yellow warning icon in the toolbar), but I don’t think it is too much to ask for 130W out of a $400 dock.

Would I buy it again? Absolutely. It is a nice piece of hardware and I enjoy my desk more because of it.

A great desk hub from the peripheral kings. Logitech has done a great job on these with the Work from Home execs and team in mind. The lighting is a great feature as it shows your microphone and camera status, as well as a purple illumination during Teams activity.

The sound quality is incredible, and the build is very solid. That said, there is a few quirks – USB C displays are a no-go currently and my mic soft touch key only works sporadically. There are few USB ports and only 1 HDMI and 1 Displayport.

They both output beautifully and quickly. Charges my laptop and connects with the single USB C connection. The software is really handy and they keep improving Tune every update and adding new devices.

I’m thrilled with my Logi Dock and will be getting one for my wife’s desk as well.

Supplies plenty power as well as 13 USB, each with individual on/off switches.
