This is my third survivor in about 12 years. The first was a 4 gig that had the key chain loop on the opposite side. I loved that one. 4 gigs got to be too small for my needs so I upgraded to a 16 gig one that has lasted at least 6 years now.

I was disappointed they moved the key chain loop to the other side where it now is attached to the USB stick instead of just the cap. The first one I had was much better since you could just unscrew it and it was free of the key ring.

In years of use of my 16 gig i have never had it unscrew in my pocket so I am not sure why they made this change. It puts a lot of stress on the unit and the port you have it plugged into if your keys are hanging from it.

I really wish they would go back to the original design. The 16 gig version is banged up pretty bad 6 years later but still works flawlessly. Despite having keys hanging from it when it was in use the stick is still fully intact if a bit wobbly at the joints.

This one I have only had a few months and while it worked well at first it Identified itself as a memory bar which I found odd. but it did work so I thought nothing more of it. However at this point it is just borked.

Sometimes it identifies correctly sometimes it just fails. sometimes it will work for a bit then fail When it does work it will often show as two drives but only appear as one in Disk manager. After 6 years of abuse with the other and flawless performance I was surprised by the quick failure of this one.

Be careful who you buy this from. I got this through New egg but from one of their re sellers called limited goods. When I purchased this it came with a 5 year manufacturers warranty supposedly just as it does as of this writing.

Today when I tried to get an RMA on it Corsair said they will not replace it because the seller was not an authorized dealer and i would have to go to the seller to get it replaced. When i spoke to limited goods who is apparently now named My goods they said it was outside of the 30 day window and they would not replace it either.

Last resort I went to New Egg. I have been a customer of New eggs for over a decade and they have never let me down, Customer service at New egg did say they could not replace it for me either but that they would contact both the seller and the manufacturer for me.

Who knows what will come of it at this point but I do appreciate the effort from at least one of the links in the chain. I am still irked that corsair would not cover it even more so because that 5 year warranty is still there if you were to buy this item as of today.

I am also Irked at the seller for refusing to replace it when they sold it with that imp-lied 5 year warranty even though they knew it would not be honored. It remains to be seen what remedy New egg comes up with but I am crossing my fingers.

If you got this far TLDR Buy only from new egg directly don’t use a re seller Warranty may not be honored otherwise, This one started failing on me inside of 8 months despite very sparse use.

This is the third Corsair high-capacity flash drive I own. The first two were the older, rubber-bodied style, which work well – no problems whatsoever – but I do worry about the normal effects of age on the rubber bodies.

Der neue USB Stick wurde an eine USB Erweiterungskarte mit 2 x USB-C und 3 USB-A 3. 2 Schnittstelle angeschlossen. Ich startete den Kopiervorgang, dann ging die Geschwinding bis etwas über 330 MB/Sek.

Dann sackte es ab auf 90 MB/Sek, dann noch tiefer auf knapp 44 MB/Sek, dann wurde der Stick plötzlich ausgeworfen und eine Fehlermeldung mit gelbem Ausrufezeichen wurde angezeigt. So ein Sch. Der Stick wurde auch vorher, mit NTFS formatiert, um auch grösse Datenklötze zu kopieren.

Also Stick raus, an den USB Switch, an dem der Quellen Stick auch dran war und nochmals kopieren. Diesmal kam keine Fehlermeldung mehr, weil der USB-Switch eine eigene Stromversorgung hat. Beim ersten Fehler, ging das Licht meiner Corsair Tastatur aus.

Irgendwie, wird dieser Stick nicht seinen technischen Angaben gerecht. Es scheint, dass der interne Kontroller Probleme macht oder der Stick so viel Strom frisst, dass der Windows Explorer kurz vor dem Absturz steht.

Meinerseits keine Kaufempfehlung! Kauft euch lieber diesen Stick: Transcend JetFlash 780 – 128 GB.

The GorillaDrive is priced the same as Wal-Mart’s other 16/Gb drives but it’s way tougher than the competition. I’ve ruined USB flash drives by stepping on them, transporting them in heavily-laden book-bags and running them through the washing machine but the GorillaDrive can handle all that with no problem.

The casing is impressively sturdy and the cap snaps on very securely for a water-resistant seal. The carry loop is large enough for p-chord to fit through easily and it’s located on the correct side of the drive (not the side with the cap) so you don’t risk your drive falling off when life gets movin’.

The disk utility on my computer shows 15. 83 Gb’s available when formatted using FAT which is about where it should be. There is always some storage size loss on every drive due to formatting so that’s no surprise.

I’m using this as a bootable USB drive for Ubuntu and so far everything is running smoothly with 100% reliability. I’ve actually loaded and used several different ISO’s on this drive and have not experienced a drive error/failure.

I did notice a big increase in performance when I switched from KDE to Gnome. Gnome runs so fast I can’t tell that I’m running the OS from a USB drive. The GorillaDrive is the most rugged USB drive I have found on the market and I would heartily recommend it to anyone.

My only suggestion to the manufacturer and/or to Wal-Mart would be to offer this drive in multiple storage sizes and in different colors.

I bought this GorillaDrive 16GB flash drive to keep important backups on my key chain. It is water resistant to 65 feet, pressure/impact resistant to 250 PSI and heat resistant to 225 degrees! Contrary to one review, the web site states that it is USB 2.

0, not 1. 1! It functions fine on my Windows 8 laptop. One review stated that the cap is difficult to remove. I concur, but believe that is a plus and not a negative, as I have lost caps before. That cap shouldn’t accidentally come off and get lost.

When you push it completely on the drive, the cap seems to seal. The drive is very well made and very rugged. The loop is blue finished metal and shouldn’t break. It is ideal to attach to a key chain.

It DOES seem a little slow, but that isn’t a problem for me as my files are only 13. 1 MB and only take a few seconds to complete. Overall, this seems like an excellent replacement for the cheap plastic flash drives I have had on my key chain in the past.

We bought this 64GB GorillaDrive Flash Drive for my son, an avid little photographer, to store his photos on so they wouldn’t take up room on my computer. His dad has one just like it so he thinks its cool.

For the price it holds plenty of photos. We love the “tough” exterior. This thing feels like it could withstand some serious abuse though I hope it never has to. When you have the drive plugged in to the computer the cap snaps on the end — very handy as those little caps love to get lost! Pros: Looks like a good quality build, small and neat and good value for 32 GB. I recently changed my car, found it had USB C sockets but my computer is USB A so needed something to work in both – this does the job perfectly without worrying about fiddly adapters.

Cons: The write speed is not the fastest there is, but to be honest it is not really a problem since I only need to load it occasionally with new music, then plug it into my car socket.

Hi all buyers, He first thing you sshould know: to buy it or not. Yes, you can buy it, it’s a really good device for its money, very great and portable replacement for the cable. What’s next! The speed.

PC with USB 2. 0: sequential reading 25-30 MBs, sequential writing 10-15 MBs. Why USB 2. 0? Because most of the phones are using the USB 2. 0 unfortunately. The phone itself. (Meizu Pro 5) Never tested the flash with specific SW, but I can say that copy from the flash to the internal memory is pretty fast: about 20MBs, while recording from the internal memory is a bit slower: around 15MBs.

The usability. Plastic connector cover is a bit annoying but it must be there because USB 3. 1 looks not so strong as 2. 0, 3. 0. The small “strap” could have something more useful to enhance detaching ability.

But we have what we have. Conclusion: A good device with pretty close to classic USB 3. 0 read/writrle performance. A good choice if you need to copy something to your phone quiet fast from someone’s PC.

And a good choice if your internal memory/sd card is become full of photos and videos so you need to move then somewhere quickly. I wish you a good shopping :).

Pros: I still haven’t used the device for anything yet but I really love the portability of the usb stick and the fact its 32gb means I can store enough information on the go without needing a portable ssd drive.

Bought this to replace the original which I managed to damage which removing the camera from my previous car. It works well and there is plenty of length to feed around the body work while hiding it under the trim.

A softer plastic would have been better as it can generate noise if it rubs against the trim.

I was helped in the store to buy the correct cable for replacement on a Nextbase Camera. The service was excellent, but I must point out that the design of the Nextbase is the reason why I’ve had to buy two additional charge cables for the unit so far.

These cable do break.

This is a really excellent quality charger- not to be confused with cheap rubbish from EBay. I use it in my camper which has Hella socket (VW). It has full charging capability at both USB ports which means you can charge and IPad and an IPhone no problem (other smart phone and tablets are available 😂 I am not sponsored by apple).

Yes it works, but it’s so expensive and should just be included with the camera. The cig lighter cable that comes with the camera only has 2 wires whereas this one has 3, so you can’t even cut the plug off of the included cig lighter cable and hardwire it; you really do need to buy this extra wire.

To add extra insult to injury, they didn’t include any fuse taps with this $40 cable, so you may need to buy those too. I ended up splicing a wire to the appropriate fuse behind the fuse box.

It would be more helpful if a hardwire cable were included in the purchase of the dash cam since it’s necessary in order to enable parking surveillance when the ignition is off. Purchase of a separate product should not be required in order to get all features of the original product’s ability.

That being said, we used this to get our Thinkware X700 Dash Cam professionally installed, and the Auto Tech was very professional, seemed to enjoy his job and was thorough.

This cable should’ve came with it. In order to use parking mode with Thinkware cameras you’re going to need this fuse splicing cable. It taps into fuse box which may sound scary but it’s more reliable than the 12 volt socket plug that comes in the box.

DO NOT tap into safety related fuses such as airbag, power steering and other car critical fuses. Make sure to accurately look up the codes in your cars manual or behind the fuse cover to match the correct fuses.

You also may need to buy an *add-a-fuse-cable* and additional fuses at your local car parts store. (There are two types of car fuses. Mini fuse and regular fuse) I tapped into power seats as I have them equipped with my car and it’s a constant on fuse.

Constant on meaning the seats in my application still have power to move even when the car is powered off so the camera still has power to enter parking mode.

I’ve bought three of these — one for each car. One of these adapters failed spontaneously, after about 4 months of ownership: no output, blue LED power indicator lit but shortly went out, and body of the adapter became rather warm (though not alarmingly so) with NOTHING plugged into its outputs.

The other ones continue working fine and, indeed, one now functions okay as a replacement for the one that failed in that same vehicle. There’s nothing wrong with my car’s electrical system — it’s at a solid 13.

8 – 14. 1V with the engine running. I have not yet cracked the defective adapter open to do a failure analysis, but I do intend to do so when I have time. This cigarette lighter adapter is perfect. It’s way better than anything you’ll buy at a gas station or even at some big box stores. You can tell that it’s durable. And it shares 4 amps, which gives you two amps per USB port, unlike similar products that share only 3 amps, giving you a 2-1 split.

I thought I would get a dashcam and I was looking for one that can easily hide the wires. Lo and behold I found the exact one for my Model S with Auto Pilot 1. It only has 1080p but there really is no dashcam that has higher resolution in the market yet.

It is relatively easy to install. Relative is the operative word. I was scared I would break the plastic hooks but they were well made and when I needed to put extra force to push it in place it came into place.

Easy to install, works great, customized for Tesla. I have this in my late 2016 S90D (AP2 with MCU2). Apple’s ‘dash cam’ feature not supported on my car, but this is even better. Super easy to install, almost invisible in the car and makes excellent quality recordings.

This cam eliminates the threshold getting a dash cam; mounting and installing! Done in minutes and works like a charm. The app is very good and lets you view and download all the latest trips via WiFi.

The film quality is not superb but sufficient to use as proof if theres an accident which is my intention. More expensive cams may have better film quality but no one is as seamless and invisible as this one!.

Albeit slightly bulky – this may not fit perfectly in smaller cavities as many cars jam 12V outlets into, the USB housing is either a thin aluminum or top-notch plastic, and hasn’t failed to quickcharge any device (both iOS & Android) it’s had plugged into it.

I hope to never need to test the functionality of the glass breaker & seatbelt cutter, but having this in the quick-access center console of my coupe may just be a lifesaver if that day were to come.

The latter is deep enough in the housing to shield itself from any accidental fingers reaching around in the dark and coming in contact with the blade. Overall highly recommended for the price; this is bound to be a quality charger that’ll last the years without needing replacement.

It’s a good tool. Seems like a nice inclusion to any car. BUT the charging is just ‘good’. It’s not great. Not at all. It’s stable and safe, but no quick charge or fast charge of any kind. It’s good enough to actually charge and not just “maintain charge” on beefier phones, but it’s not strong enough to pump significant charge till the end of a short drive.

Gimmick, but you never know. If you have a quick charge charger, don’t bother. Just buy a window hammer that has a blade or just buy a multi tool. Better and more utilitarian.

It’s a pretty handy device if you ever need it. Plug it into the cigarette lighter port and if a idiot runs you off the road and into a lake you can cut your seatbelts and break the window and escape.

if your care and yourself find it in a lake you have less then 2 minutes to escape or the water pressure will keep the doors shut. Also if you get into a wreck and your car is on fire you can cut your seat belts and break your window to escape.

As to if you claim you have a knife and what not in the console. it doesn’t help If your car is smashed and you can’t access it. It’s a great tool to use in a life or death situation where time matters.

*UPDATE WEEK 35* Still a really great tool to have. Unit is still working just fine I have my dash cam and phone charger hooked up to it. I’m using a wireless charging pad in my truck lol.

This Amcrest Dashcam is a pretty decent dashcam. During the day the video quality is excellent, and during the night is good to acceptable. I have previously only used cheaper dashcams which were worse so for me this is an upgrade.

I know that you can spend more money on other brands which are possibly better but I can’t comment on those. A huge positive is that it comes with a 16GB Sandisk microSD card. I am glad that included a good brand memory card which has a proven track record.

In terms of features it has auto recording on when you power up the car. It has loop recording in 3,5,10 minute loops. It has accident detection, so if you get in an accident then it lock that recording and won’t overwrite it.

It has a parking mode where if you car gets hit while parking it will start recording, however I haven’t tested that feature. There are a few quirks I’ll mention. The menu and how the buttons function took a few minutes to figure out.

I dislike the fact that USB port is on top, doesn’t make sense because the power adapter in the car will be under the dashcam. The dashcam doesn’t come with a SD adapter for the microSD card. The camera itself cannot be used to transfer the video.

So you have to have a microSD card adapter to transfer the files.

My friend and I purchased 2 of this brackets for our dash cam (Amcrest) and let me tell you, it’s the worst product ever. It disconnect and reconnect to the satellite all the time. Also every time we were setting up the time, the GPS was changing the time to a day ahead of what we are on our location.

This is so annoying. Same issue with the GPS tracker device, my friend signed up for the service and we found that our GPS are connected it to a satellite over by China. Really Amcrest??? Really??? Before you avatice something for sale, make sure it works correctly, specially on the country you are selling it.

I will be returning all units as they are garbage. I had to give a star so it would allow me to post the review but it is a 0 Star product.

This camera has a mind of its own. Sometimes the display comes on (and recording), other times the display does not come on (but is recording), while other times, the display does not come on and NOT recording.

For the price of this camera, I cannot reply on this “sometimes”. **Note, everything is set to default. No settings changes were made since receiving this. Plug and play. My other dashcam was far more reliable.

The image was bad, but at least I didn’t have to check on whether the camera was recording every time I start the car.

I recently got a Pinecil soldering iron which has a USB input for power. This cable allows me to use my quad batteries to power the iron so I can make field repairs. Build quality for this thing is great.

Great charging cable. I use it with my toolkit RC M6 charger along with a 65watt portable wall charger. Works perfectly, really like the USB C connection that can provide high wattage and amps.

Good charger it charges iPhone pretty fast, it has a real good permanent attached cable and an extra usb-c slot to charge other devices. Built quality is good, price is kind of high compared to other aftermarket chargers but I got a promo deal that gave me 30% off on my purchase.

And if it craps out within the next few months I can take it to my local ATT store and see if they can replace it, ATT has good service and warranty. Of course if I destroy it or had it for over a year, I will just get a new one.
