Best Upload Speed For Gaming (2024 Updated)

Our 7 year old router was beginning to act finicky by freezing, operating at slower speeds than it was capable of, and exhibiting range issues in an upstairs bedroom. We did some online research and opted for the ASUS RT-AX86S with installation by Geek Squad as part of our Best Buy Totaltech membership.

The results have been fabulous in comparison with our old router. No range issues at all! Operates well into the middle of the cul de sac we live on, and the speeds with basic Spectrum Internet averages around 100 MHz/second Download and 10 MHz/second Upload.

The ASUS App Is easy to use and great for monitoring activity and the 15-20 devices that are connected at any given time. It can also be optimized for gaming or other types of Internet activity if desired.

Highly recommend this model or others in the ASUS family. Also recommend the Geek Squad support.

Fantastic product. actually bought this router as a member of the AiMesh and a RT-AX86U as the primary router. These products are in my opinion the best home router for those interested in making specific tweaks more in depth configurations.

I’m not using the TrendMicro features as I have no interest in sending all my data to a 3rd party. Even without those features enabled this device exceeds performance from Netgear and Linksys equipment that I have owned over the years.

Signal is rock solid and the devices handles 42 connected wireless devices in my home without issue. I finally had enough with Netgear RAX120 and RAX200 routers. I’ve been thinking about making the switch to Asus for my home needs and I do not regret the decision.

I have a better WIFI network for half the price of the competitors.

I purchased this ASUS ROG GT-AX6000 as an upgrade to my ASUS RT-AX82U mesh system. No issues with the previous router. I pay for 1Gbps/1Gbps up/down on fiber with Cat6 going to router and other clients.

I’ve consistently gotten 3mbps upload speeds hardwired to one client. I’ve completed several firmware updates to include Merlin firmware. It did not fix the issue. Tested WiFi upload speeds to an AX client (iPhone 13 Pro) and was able to get an avg of 80mbps at the most.

I contacted ASUS support to have my router repaired under manufacturer warranty. I was out of the return policy due to me being optimistic and waiting for firmware updates to rollout. I was hoping this was an isolated issue and possibly defective hardware.

I’ve done plenty of research on the ASUS forums and Reddit. It is a known issue without a fix. I had detailed troubleshooting to rule out other variables such as my ISP and cables. Believe me, I wanted this router to work.

I specifically noted in my troubleshooting notes to ASUS that to please do not send me a new unit and just test/repair this known issue. ASUS sent me a brand new router and no details on diag/tests being done.

The current work around that I have found to work is to enable dual-WAN and set it to use WAN(2. 5Gbs) port and Ethernet LAN 4. I set LAN 4 as primary and 2. 5 WAN port as secondary. I left 2. 5 WAN port unplugged.

I now can have functioning 1Gbps up/down speeds. I don’t recommend this router (until they have a solid fix) for those that require >1. 5Gbps up/down speeds from ISP. I work 100% remote with over 17 years experience in Cyber Security.

My ASUS RT-AX82U performed as expected while waiting for my ASUS GT-AX6000 to be repaired. As of this writing, (22 Sept 2022) there are no known fix to this issue. I hope this review helps. Kind regards.

Its easy to setup this router via their Asus app. But the network gives up and cannot reach 1 level up nor down. The speeds reduce drasctially if you move away from it. I have 5 Gbps At&t network and this router(has 2.

5Gbps max output when you are close to the router)hence doesn’t meet my requirement. Will opt for Netgear Orbi instead. One more thing would like to add here is if you are planning to go above 1Gbps internet plan do remember you need to upgrade your switches from 1Gb port to 5Gb or 10Gb port(expensive ethernet/SFP+ switches).

Also, I would recommend CAT6A/CAT7 cables to get the best speeds for all the devices. Only a few routers in the market have 1 x 10Gbps port on it. If using it on a PC then you also need to upgrade your LAN/NIC card to 10Gb to get the most out of your network speed.

I wanted to replace an Asus AC3100 with a router that was capable of AX for a select number of new devices (iphone 13’s). The previous one was fantastic with excellent range (two slow spots in the house) for a 3,400 square foot house and almost never required a reboot.

Extremely happy so far. The range seems to be very similar but I am now getting slightly faster speeds on all 5ghz legacy devices as well as significantly more speed with AX devices. The router has been stable and I have not has to reboot once since I turned it on.

I love Asus routers plus you do not have to pay additional fees for some of the features like other brands. Please note, that the previous Asus router before the AC3100 was terrible but I am glad I kept with them.

Sometimes you just get a bad one.

The best NFS since Most Wanted & Carbon, and it definitely lives up to the expectations those games left us with in all areas except the story, which was a bit lackluster. but not the worst there has been in a NFS game (much better than NFS 2015 & Payback).

The physics are fantastic, feels like a fully refined version of Payback’s physics, completely fixing the unpredictableness of Payback, and actually requiring skill to do well in. Drifting is not as easy as you’d expect for an arcade racer, but is rewarding and fun.

Sense of speed is finally back, I don’t think I’ve ever felt like I was moving as fast as I have in NFS Heat before. Cops are great and they’re brutal, but also pretty fair. If you’re quick and have a fast car, ducking through multiple back alleys is a good way to lose them.

and they do put up a really good fight. Anyone saying that they’re too hard shouldn’t be playing a NFS game and needs to go play Forza Horizon (a good game in it’s own right) without cops instead. The map is beautiful and fun to drive in with lots of secret places/shortcuts/alternate routes, as well as having billboards to smash (reminds me of Burnout Paradise) and other free roam activities like drift zones, long jumps, and speed traps.

Heat feels like a combination of the best parts of Most Wanted, Carbon, and Underground. paired with NFS 2015 and Paybacks excellent customization, with a bit of Burnout Paradise thrown in in terms of free-roam activities.

Overall- absolutely recommend the game. Ghost games listened to what the community wanted over the course of NFS 2015 and Payback, and delivered in almost every area this time. Really looking forward to seeing where this takes the NFS series.

It’s starting to feel like the good old NFS games we played as kids again.

The game overall is pretty good. But in order to increase reputation, you have to drive the events at night. This also increases the likelihood of being chased by cops which are nearly impossible to shake.

It seems no matter how fast or how well you drive, they can keep up with you or pass you. They only have to drive next to you to bust you, which means you could be doing 180 mph and they can still bust you.

When you do get busted/wrecked they take at least $30,000 of your money. So, all told the game is decent but it is completely ruined by the excessive cops.

I have played every NFS. From the early series defining 90s exotic racers, the shift to street racing, MOST WANTED 2005, attempt at cannonball run with The Run, failure in sim racing with Shift 1 and 2, the forgettable Most Wanted and Hot Pursuit reboots, then the interesting yet forgettable NFS 2015 and Payback.

The last two games were mighty disappointing, but they served their purpose. Heat is definitely a return to a decent handling model, cheesy storytelling that defined the series since NFS Undeground and perfected in Most Wanted 05, and a great setting.

Only issue is longetivity of this game once you complete the main campaign as you can’t jump into online lobbies to search worldwide for races. Instead you are placed in a hub (open world) where you can only invite or be invited by other racers to participate in a race.

Absolutely awful system. GTSport and Forza Horizon 4 stay in rotation because of the physics and the online aspect. Heat doesn’t have the driving physics to make tuning and driving cars rewarding on its own.

Without the campaign to drive the momentum, the game does lose steam. But during that time, it is probably one of the best arcade racing experiences I have had in a while. Crew 2 was absolute trash and Forza Horizon 4 took a while to grow on me before I fell in love.

Thing is I’m done with Heat after 20hrs, while I’m going 741hrs strong in FH4. Either way, a worthy successor to NFS greats.

I was super excited for this game even though it arrived late. I downloaded it right when it arrived and I noticed it was making a really loud spinning noise in my Xbox One X which has up to this point always been dead silent besides a little whirring when first downloading a game.

But this sound was painful like as if the Xbox was hurting so I took it out and put it back in, and the same thing happened. So I thought maybe it was the Xbox and I put in another game and it was just fine and quiet as well.

So I put the game in to download even though it was loud and went straight to playing when it was finished. Well I tried to open it 5 times until I realized it was crashing and it wasn’t me accidentally closing it some way some how.

So all in all, the game doesn’t work. SMH. Luckily I could download NFS Heat from my Xbox Game Pass. I bet that was their plan all along.

Took me a while to complete this game’s story mode, but it was definitely long and worthwhile just to see how the story played out. The gameplay was definitely fun the longer you stayed with the game and learned how its new mechanics work.

Speed Cards is introduced as your new system for upgrading your ride beyond its natural limitations, which kind of keeps you coming back in hopes to being ready for the next big event. Sometimes you have to replay events to earn enough to get to the next big thing, but it’s not a constant thing if you are frugal early on with base shipments and earned rewards.

For a smooth gameplay style, I recommend you save all of your Speed Cards until you really need them. Don’t sale the ones you don’t want; store them to invest in rolling three unused ones for a chance to score a really powerful one later on as you progress through the game with your car of choice.

Save up all of your money to get that dream car you always wanted (mine was the Jaguar F-Type R). The only downside to this game, when compared to the likes of Hot Pursuit, is that the cop chases are either very difficult to get past later on in the game and that they just end automatically after you get toward your final checkpoint.

It’s nowhere near as good as it was when you actually had to work hard and think creatively at dispatching them in previous games. The game is split up between Race, Drift, Drag, Off-Road, and Runner (Cop Chase) events.

You’ll most likely spend most of your time as a racer and doing off-road events because those two are the most challenging as you get deeper into the game. (Off-Road is particularly unfair on certain difficulty settings.

) There are a million little distractions to do in the open-world of this desert city, so go out and explore, find derelicts, and save up for your dream car. Then go online and challenge the world with your unique ride.

I grabbed this for the PS4 a couple weeks ago. I havent put it down yet! Ill give it a quick rundown. *STORY* Just like the others, lame at some points and not so bad at others. *GRAPHICS* Amazing, it has beautiful scenery along with day and night cycles.

The cars are absolutely gorgeous! *THINGS TO DO* It has tons to do, there is a ton of cars to build that is very detailed from bumper to bumper, a bunch of story and side races with side bets for extra money.

Also, you can find hidden body parts around the world to 5 cars for that supercar. The car lineup has classics to futuristic, american muscle to extremely rare and now you can build Off-road with them.

It gets a little challenging at times but nothing to crazy. You can free roam and play it offline. If you liked NFS Most Wanted im sure you will have no problem with this one. Its been a great game even with the bad reviews.

This is the NFS I have been looking for since Underground, Underground 2 and Carbon. I hope this review helps in making a purchase and getting this gem the recognition it very well deserves! Enjoy.

I have two GT-AX11000 routers in an AIMesh configuration with a CAT6 backhaul. The wired backhaul keeps 100% of the wireless bandwidth available for wireless devices. The mesh network fills in a couple of weird dead spots that I had (happened with other routers too) and also allows for hard-wired connections for my entertainment center downstairs and in my office upstairs.

I have a 600Mbps Comcast connection that regularly gets between 8-900Mbps. My wireless devices are getting right at the same speeds as the wired desktops. My home is a 2500 square foot two-story on a third acre lot and I have solid 5GHz WiFi 6 coverage in every corner of my house and yard.

I was amazed at how many devices we have on or network when I counted them up. (which is easy to do in the router’s interface) Between TVs, phones, pads, laptops, Roku/Fire sticks, multiple Alexas, Ring devices, Apple watch, DVD/BlueRay – You get the idea.

they really add up! We will often have streaming on multiple devices, browsing and gaming all at the same time and these routers handle it without a glitch. TBH – I know that the setup I have is overkill and I could have built out a solid network for a lot cheaper but it happened in stages and just grew into what it is.

I really wrestled with buying the second AX11000 when I knew that other, less expensive, Asus routers would have worked just fine. Now that it’s done however – I couldn’t be happier with the performance and feel good about having a network which will last well in to the future.

Been an Asus guy for quite awhile now, got tired of all the rumors about netgear having security issues. My last Asus was a Rt-Ax82u which worked great but had to try the latest and greatest. Install was smooth like all the Asus routers I have owned.

Love all the features and probably won’t ever use them all but nice to have the options. Also it has great WiFi range, most everything important is connected via LAN but I have plenty of other wireless devices as well (33 to be exact).

Only a few cons which are really not cons but my 82u had a faster download speed using the built in speed test (920mbps) while this one is only running in the 700mbps range. Not sure why, I have the Qos shut off and all the features I don’t need turned off as well.

Also I don’t really care for the live ping and download speed info running all the time in the back ground. Not sure if there is a way to turn it off but I haven’t found it yet. Hopefully someone will chime in.

Other than that, if you want I high end router with all the bells and whistles that is very reliable, buy this!!.

This laptop is amazing, I had originally purchased the 5900HX back when it released and I returned it in edit due to the amount of issues it had, track pad was misaligned, overhearing because the liquid metal leaked and was not applied properly, a myriad of issues really.

Skip to August 2022 and I purchased the 5980HX model and I can honestly say I’m impressed, the unit I received is perfect, it has the fast ram and not the subpar one that came with the original version, the trackpad was perfectly aligned, no overheating issues.

Honestly the only issue I had at first was the speakers crackling and as soon as I updated the laptop with the myasus drivers that was fixed. I do recommend what someone else wrote on a review here, IMMEDIATELY download the amd adrenaline drivers and use those instead of the ones myasus provides.

That being said, this laptop runs all of my games at 1440p maxed out at least at 60fps on the really demanding ones, and way more on others. The 6800m sits in the middle of the 3070 and 3080 laptop GPUs, so the performance is really good.

Honestly at the price point I purchased this laptop, why anyone would choose anything else would be beyond me. The 1440p screen is beautiful, the performance is amazing. Honestly other than just getting a bigger NVME, and making sure the unit received has the good RAM timings, I find no issue with this laptop.

I play WoW maxed out and no issues, fps drops are not even felt because of the freesync on the rare occasions they may happen. The laptop truly is amazing, the price rivals those of 3070tis and 3080s.

Honestly if you’re in the market for one, now is a great time to get one, with the release of ryzen 6000 series, these laptops are a STEAL.

I would love to give this 5 stars but I’ve had an issue with the laptop that needs to be said because it seems to happen to a lot of asus laptops. Firstly this computer is a monster. It has no problem running games like arma 3, beam NG drive (it’ll run 60 FPS with higher settings), storm works, from the depths and gta V (I got 90 FPS with higher settings) it has no webcam which I do not care for, it’s a little loud and gets decently warm I’d recommend a laptop cooler if you game for a multiple hours a day.

The screen is nice, I’d only see you get 165 FPS in esports and indie titles. No mux switch but you can bypass the IGPU by using a USB-C to HDMI or Display Port which will increase your FPS. Yes it’s true this laptop comes with “slow” memory and you can see up to a 20% increase in power if you upgrade (32 gigs will run you about 100-160$ I’d recommend crucial) the charging brick is not a joke, it is a genuine brick and will hurt your foot if you drop it.

The keyboard is very nice and I find no issue. Compared to a MacBook Pro 2019 it is slightly more “mushy”. The laptop is amazing for the price that got it (1350$ after tax) so it’s worth it. Now the issue.

Asus has strange phenomenon where sometimes for whatever reason the GPU gets stuck in “Extreme Power Savings Mode” this doesn’t change when you restart, plug in, or manually change it in windows or Armory Crate.

You may ask, well if you still own the laptop how did you fix it? Well first thing I tried was reinstalling windows 10 (I had switched for a bit) that worked for about a day or so. I switched back to windows 11, still didn’t work then I went into the bios and boom my GPU was showing there so I saved and exited and it worked! Then it happened again did the same thing and worked again! It occurred a few more times then I started booting fr the bios and after a few more times the laptop just works now and I’m very happy! I have not had a problem since! So all in all besides strange software glitches and issues the laptop is nearly perfect!.

Pros: – Excellent price to performance – Color accurate 1440p display – Decent build quality – Solid battery life (for a gaming laptop) Cons: – GPU is poorly optimized for some professional tasks – Display may not be bright enough for some people – Horrendous QC issues from Asus ROG as a whole (read below) I wanted to love Asus Rog Laptops, I really do.

But EVERY single Asus ROG gaming laptop I have bought or recommended has run into one issue or another. The first laptop, Zephyrus G14, Bestbuy messed up so it was not Asus’ fault. Returned. Second laptop, Zephyrus G15, stuck/dead pixels right in the middle of the display.

Returned. The third laptop, Zephyrus G15 again, unresponsive space bar. Returned. I recommended a friend a Zephyrus G15. The plastic cover below the display started to fall off after 2 weeks. He decided to not return it.

Now this laptop. I’ve had it for around 3 months, but around 2 weeks ago, I noticed multiple stuck/dead pixels. I was a huge fan of Asus’ products. I wouldn’t have kept recommending/buying their laptops if I wasn’t.

But after receiving multiple faulty Asus gaming laptops, I cannot recommend an Asus product anymore. If anyone still plans on buying an Asus ROG laptop after reading this, I wish you the best of luck.

As for me, I’ll stay away from Asus products until they fix their QC issues.

Need for Speed: Rivals is a fun, open-world racing game that has you either joining the law to shut down the illegal racers that cruise the streets of Redview County, or become a racer yourself and try to avoid the police.

The graphics are beautiful, and the gameplay is fun and exciting, for sure. The largest issue I have with this 2013 installment of the NFS series – and this is totally just a personal preference – sometimes, when you collide with something in the environment, whether this be a fellow car, a lightpole or the like, the game takes away your control over your vehicle and forces you to sit there for a few seconds and stare at your motionless ride – while the rest of the world ticks on in the background, which means you can be busted by cops if they swarm you during this time, or get wrecked as oncoming enemy vehicles collide with you.

It’s a minor frustration, especially when it costs me all of my hard-earned points, but I’m admittedly not great at driving in this game anyways. If you’re looking for a NFS game for your modern system, I hear some of the newer offerings like Payback or Heat have even more options for your cars and a more in-depth story.

But Rivals does more than enough for those that just want to zoom around an open world, like myself.

Pretty sure I haven’t played Need for Speed in over 15 years and hadn’t had any real desire until my son begged me for two weeks to buy it and we got it on sale. And as I’m typing this review, my son is currently playing the game and I’l be playing right up until noon when NFL games start.

When we first bought the game, he and I played it non-stop. I’d even play it until 1 or 2 in the morning, and I’m a head to bed by 10:30 kind of guy. It took a while for me to really get a good feel for driving the cars, and I’m still not as good as I’d like to be.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been flying down some road and driven head-on into a tree or another car. Getaway driver is not in my future. The game is full of a lot of excellent features. I like that you can play as either the criminal or the cop.

At first I thought it was our civic duty to play as the police, but man is speeding away from the cops or crashing into them a ton of fun! I’m always having to remind my son (he’s 10) that “this is not something we do or condone in real life.

” Not that I ever worry that one day he’ll turn into a hoodlum, but I still think it needs to be said. I also like how, for me, my gameplay is combined with others playing online as either criminals or police.

It definitely adds to the challenge. What I don’t like is that my son cannot play in this mode as EA has decided that it as a company should be in charge of what my son plays online. I get that the game and the online server is a product that the company owns and that I have the privilege of playing on, but my son is missing out on a great component of the game and unfortunately cannot utilize unless I create him a fake account.

This is not something I’m going to do, which means he either has to play on my account (which he does with Star Wars Battlefront) or play the game offline. This is why I give the game 4 stars and why I have decided to not give any EA game a full 5 stars until something changes in the online arena.

After only very recently bothering to unwrap and play through (in order) NFS Hot Pursuit and then NFS Most Wanted, I decided it was high time to acquire NFS Rivals for my PS3 and give it a spin. As you can appreciate, this game, being made AFTER the aforementioned duo, had high expectations placed upon it, especially as – NFS Hot Pursuit, in particular – was thoroughly excellent.

However, I was disappointed by this game, right from the outset. First thing to raise my eyebrow; the requirement for a mandatory install. Both other previous titles had excellent visuals throughout (MW especially) and required zero installation.

Naturally, I presumed that this would be required due to the immense graphics, textures and details I was going to be subjected to(?!) Secondly, the load times are horrendously painful. No elaboration required.

Thirdly and, this is the big one: visuals. The graphical presentation is terrible. Rough as hell, I don’t mind saying. If you remember, when you tried to go ‘back’ and play a PS2 game via SCART on your shiny new 42″ HD Panel when you first bought it? Yeah, very reminiscent of that effect, visually.

The game VERY often runs at sub 30fps (I doubt it ever really reaches it) and the visuals actually make the game hard to look at when your trying to play it! Migraine inducing tbh. I will say, in fairness, when the framerate is up to scratch (rarely) the game actually feels and plays alright.

After the great job Criterion did with the last two NFS titles though (opinions vary, but they were at least, graphically accomplished and gameplay was good) this is a massive step back. I have since had chance to experience the PS4 version and, although the game seems to lack any personality and is as dull as dishwater, the visuals are at least very nice and the game plays well enough.

Just a bland ‘we can’t possibly lose’ mix of Most Wanted & Hot Pursuit rolled into one. If you could be bothered to read this far, do yourself a favour and either: 1) Buy or revisit NFS Hot Pursuit or NFS Most Wanted 2) Buy NFS Rivals for PS4 instead The PS3 version is reminiscent of all those leading developer/publisher titles (EA, Ubi, Acti, etc) released at the end of generation for all consoles; a shoddy, quickly ported, “will have to do” cash grab.

If you really have to. then you have to. But you’ve been warned: honestly, just avoid it.

The Archer AX3000 is a small, stylish router with an easy setup process, excellent performance, and a few neat extras to help it stand apart from the competition. There aren’t any real surprises in the setup for anyone who’s installed a router before, and if you haven’t I don’t think you should run into many issues.

You have the option of either using a web interface or going through a proprietary app (tether, in this case) which will help walk you through the directions and add in some capacity for remote management to boot.

By default the internet is connected to a single 2. 5gbps ethernet port, though if you don’t have a fiber line and would rather reserve that for high speed intranet you can switch it over to a more conventional gigabit port.

All in all it should only take about twenty minutes for you to get up and running, and once you do you have full access to WiFi 6 speeds that can easily match (and occasionally rival) a wired connection.

The configuration options for both the web interface and the app are decent, though not exceptional. TP-Link seems very much aware that they’re building for general consumers more than power users, so you’re not going to find much in the way of bells and whistles.

Still it has everything I’d consider essential in a modern router (single SSID support, guest networks, WPA3, etc. ) as well as a few nice to have features such as support for mesh networking for particularly large homes.

Range is as good as you’d expect from a WiFi 6 device too – placing this thing next to a window let me get all the way across the street from my home before the signal cut out. There is some room for improvement though.

The presence of a single 2. 5gbps networking port and the fact that it defaults to the WAN hookup seems a little odd to me, as it’s pretty hard to find a residential internet connection that can actually make full use of it.

And if you could, you’d probably want to be able to take full advantage of it with whatever workstation or gaming PC you’re feeding with it. It seems to me that if you’re going to include the high speed ethernet port you should allow for two at a minimum or preferably just bite the bullet and upgrade the entire switch so you don’t have to choose.

I’m also a little concerned by the fact that the WiFi antennas seem to be permanently attached rather than removable as you get with most routers these days, as I’m always concerned about the cat deciding to play with one and doing something I come to regret later.

But, to be fair, I’m also a bit of a power user. I’d recommend this to anyone looking for a high powered WiFi 6 system without any of the fuss that often comes from more complicated units aimed at gamers and other prosumers.

It’s nice to finally see Wifi 6 more abundant and affordable these days. This router isn’t going to break the bank in terms of routers but offers enough features to keep most people happy, I think. It looks like a router instead of an alien spaceship that seems to be the “trend” with more of the “gaming” focused routers (I truly don’t understand that phase at all) but it performs well enough for it’s price.

Setup is going to be as dependent on your particular setup as can be. If you’re just plugging this router into your own modem or swapping out an existing router, setup will probably just be a matter of unplugging the old and inserting the new.

For more particular setups or if you’re connecting to another router (like your ISPs provided router) you may have some extra hoops to jump through that you’d need to jump through for any other router in existance.

But just getting it up and running is pretty straight forward. You can set this up with an app but I prefer to use the web interface. Unlike some other routers I’ve used (*coughlinksyscough*), even if you connect to the router’s web interface via your mobile device, it just lets you on through to use the web interface instead of forcing you to download their app that actually does less.

I may still be jaded from that experience but it’s nice to just be able to use this as you want to instead of being forced into using apps that are unnecessary. The options you have are pretty robust and I’m having trouble deciding which I like better between the comparably priced ASUS RT-AX55 and this one because for the price point, routers seem to be offering a lot more than what they used to as far as customization and just more “advanced” features.

One thing that sets it apart is the optional 2. 5Gbps port if you happen to be lucky enough to have an ISP that gives you more than 1Gbps OR so you can connect to the rest of your network at 2. 5Gbps (if the rest of your hardware supports it).

Sadly, I don’t fall into either of those categories just yet but I’m hoping to in the future so it’s nice to have that available. Another nice feature of this router is the ability to sort of piece-meal a mesh network together.

There’s a fairly large selection of supported “OneMesh” routers and extenders you can use to make a mesh network if you need more coverage on your own terms instead of needing to drop hundreds of dollars at once for a kit that probably includes more mesh points than you need.

This way you can just judge if you might need a little extra range and add one of their OneMesh supported devices to your network to help out. I like that and will probably be taking advantage of this since I’ve always had issues with certain parts of my home getting the signal I’d like.

As stated before, I think this router is priced closer to “budget friendly” than it is to the more prosumer market and at the price point, I think you’re getting a pretty robust and reliable router. Being able to setup multiple VPN clients and assign them to specific devices.

Or to setup a VPN server right on the router. Or their “HomeShield” (that does require an app) that has some pretty decent security features if you’re OK with sacrificing a little bit of bandwidth. Plus the 2.

5Gbps port if you can use it and a decent range (along with all of the great features Wifi 6 provides itself), this is a really nice router that will probably tackle 95% of home users needs without breaking the bank.

Home networking equipment might not be the flashiest new technology to consider, but with more and more internet-connected devices in our homes it’s grown ever more important. Virtually anyone with internet access has to use a wifi router, and the difference between an okay router and a good router (or an old router and a new router) can be one of the most noticeable smart home purchases you can make.

As someone with dozens of smart home gadgets and internet-connected devices network reliability is paramount to me — there’s nothing like going to turn on the lights or lock the front door and being stymied by an unresponsive wifi signal.

I don’t have a large area to cover, just a two-bedroom apartment, but I do have devices at the far reaches of each room, and a swarm of interference from the routers of my neighbors in the building. When looking to upgrade my wifi 5 (802.

11ax) router from 2018, I knew I wanted to move to wifi 6 — the current wireless standard, and the successor to wifi 5 — and I wanted a router from a company known for reliability. I’m not a gamer or super-heavy streamer, so I didn’t need the absolute fastest or highest-end router, but I did want to maximize the use of my 400 mbps connection and have a bit of future-proofing so I wasn’t looking for a new router in a year or two.

TP-Link’s Archer series have been universally well-reviewed for a few years now, and this led me to one of their latest entries, the Archer AX3000 Pro. This newest model slots toward the higher end of the midrange in the extensive Archer product line, with dual-band wifi 6 technology, a dual-core Qualcomm processor and the typical 4 ethernet ports plus a modem line-in port and USB 3.

0 connection. Visually, the AX 3000 Pro looks identical to the AX50, but seems to have the innards of the AX55, insofar as I can tell. It also adds a 2. 5 gbps modem line-in port, giving it the ability to handle extremely-fast internet speeds.

I don’t have access to speeds like that but I appreciate the inclusion of this should I be so lucky as to get these speeds in the future. In addition to the solid specs I was looking for, I was after TP-Link’s easy setup and management, which I’ve used once before and found impressively straightforward.

Not all router companies take the time to make their mobile apps and web-based router management portals easy to use, but TP-Link has, and this is a great benefit. What’s the point of the latest technology if you can’t figure out how to set it up? The Archer AX3000 Pro came simply packaged, including just the basics: router, power cable and ethernet cord.

The router itself is small, lightweight an completely inobtrusive, with only a few non-blinking green lights on the front that can be turned off if you’d like. The four antennas coming out the back are pretty standard, too, and easily manipulated into position.

Quick Start instructions were included, with basic setup able to be handled with TP-Link’s Tether mobile app or via the web portal on a computer. I chose to use the Tether app to get things started, and for the sake of simplicity I maintained the same network name and password as before.

After plugging in all the cables it was simply a matter of registering for a TP-Link account in the Tether app and connecting to the default network SSID that shipped with the router. The Tether app walked me through connecting the cables, naming my network and giving it a password, and installing a firmware update.

After all this was done I had to reboot the router once and boom, everything was up and running, as evidenced by the green lights on the front of the machine. I expected perhaps a bit more drama. but that really was it.

My devices found the network and connected with no issues, and I didn’t receive any major errors, which in my book is pretty rare when it comes to network setup. After getting the basics done with the Tether app I headed over to my computer and logged into the router’s web management portal to check more advanced settings.

I do recommend giving this a try as some important features included with wifi 6, like beamforming and MIMO, were turned off by default. Turning these settings on can greatly improve speeds and reliability when using compatible devices.

I also used the web portal to set up an IPv6 connection, which my internet provider supports, and was pleased to see the Archer AX3000 Pro could automatically detect and get this connection up and running.

Nice! So setup is easy and the router itself blends right into any setup, but how’s the performance? Wifi speeds and reliability are extremely variable and entirely dependent on everyone’s unique setup, but suffice it to say I’ve been very pleased with the Archer AX3000 Pro.

Since installing it I’ve had exactly zero network issues, with no dropouts or unnecessarily slow connections. For the sake of some comparison I decided to run the free Speedtest. net app on my phone in a few spots around my apartment and compare it to my previous router in the same locations, to see if I’d really notice a difference.

Both routers managed to give me real-world speeds of roughly 300+ mbps download and 23 mbps upload all over my apartment. The biggest difference, though, is that the Archer AX3000 Pro gave me 450+ mbps download in every single location I tried, while my previous router varied greatly depending on where I took the test.

The Archer never dipped below 450 mbps download, averaging closer to 460 mbps, while my previous router went as low as 283 mbps when I put a few walls between it and my phone. Not so with TP-Link’s Archer: it kept me humming along between 450-460 mbps everywhere, even outside on my front porch.

This dogged consistency is a boon, as in real-world use I haven’t noticed a difference in speed anywhere in my apartment, whereas before I would feel things slow as I got farther from the router. Consistently good speeds and high network reliability are key to keeping today’s smart home running in tiptop shape, and I’m happy to say the TP-Link Archer AX3000 Pro excels at both.

With no dropouts, a very simple setup process and solidly above average speeds anywhere within my apartment, this router is a great choice for those looking for a great balance of speed, price and features.

Add in the USB 3. 0 and 2. 5 gbps options for a bit of future-proofing and you’ve got a great choice on your hands for most people in most situations. While your individual setup may demand more or less from a router, I think this is a great place to start and another great option from TP-Link.

This game has to be one of my all-time favorites for the PC. The game offers excellent graphics even by today’s standards, it has many modes to keep you entertained for months, and even offers the ability to customize the cars and tracks for yourself (if you know how to manipulate the game files).

The AI are agressive and much more realistic than in previous NFS titles. The cops actually make you try hard to get away, and even I, 18 years old, will play the game on Advanced difficulty and will struggle to escape the cops.

The 2 career modes offer an increasingly-difficult tree of events that will keep you entertained for a long, long time. The driving environment is absolutely gorgeous. There are actually lots of places where the road/path widens and allows you to drive along multiple paths or between trees, buildings, etc.

This game is still one that I play today, alongside NFS Porsche Unleashed and NFS High Stakes (the previous two titles in the NFS series). Overall 5/5. You drive cars such as the Lotus Elise, Mustang Cobra R, Dodge Viper GTS, McLaren F1, Ferrari 550 Barchetta, and many more.

and to make things better, NFScars. com offers a massive array of downloadable cars if you want to replace some of the less exciting cars (if there is such a thing). If this is your first NFS game, I would strongly reccomend purchasing it.

I still have mine even 10 years later. Do yourself a favor and get this game.

I grew up on this game. This game was great for the time that i came out. Honestly its better than some newer racing games that come out in todays market. Sure the graphics arent amazing 1080P but they are good enough to see things clearly.

The game play is fast paced and can be challenging at some points. The racing is super fun, the police mode is awesome and the music is sweet! Its just like i remembered it back in the day. Still as fun now as it was back then.

Cant go wrong with it!.

I owned PC version of this game for many years now as well as few other NFS editions (NFS II, HotPursuit III for older Windows 98). I recently purchased used PS2 console and out of curiosity bought PS2 version of NFS HP II.

I am not disappointed. The game delivers the same great experience on a TV screen with the PS2 controller as it did on a much higher resolution LCD with racing wheel on my PC. May be a little harder on my eyes as I own the regular (not HD) TV and PS2 does not deliver higher than VGA resolution modes, but otherwise it is a great game providing hours and hours of fun.

The game play is smooth, there is no stuttering of the frame rate on PS2 as it sometimes happened on PC. The sensitivity of the PS2 controller is well balanced so there is no problem with handling. Multiple modes, challenges, Hot Pursuit, Be a Cop and Championship provide hours of entertainment.

IMHO the best edition of NFS that gave me years of fun, I return to this game on regular basis. EA games are truly the masters of the electronic entertainment arena. A+++.

Listen, the game is great if you ever played it on the PS2 or on the other plats it was on at the time. But if your a retro gamer and you want to get back into it with the pc copy. Please do note this, the game will not work under a Windows 10 Environment due to security reasons with the DRM SecurROM.

But you are not at lost here, you may use a nocd fix to workaround this problem. All you need to know is what to do with the speed. exe file. Just remove the installed one and replace it with an Nocd version and you are rolling (Note you still need to use Disc 2 to play the game).

Great game, it really puts in perspective how much racing games have came in the last 10+ years. But don’t let it being an early NFS title get you discouraged, it’s still an exhilarating game that keeps you up late and on the edge of your seat.

I upgraded from an Asus AC1200 and this is much better than before and I’m still learning the added features like AIMesh and the other stuff on the interface or dashboard. Certainly requires reading the manual and the set up process wasn’t that easy so I had to call Asus Support did some help.

For one thing I didn’t save the Password correctly and instead of a asterisk at the end of it. It was a pound sign. It was late and I wanted to install it asap. It’s very colorful with the RGB Lighting and I have a ROG Strix B450F Gaming Motherboard.

Might as well follow through. So I do believe to have better bandwidth or ping. I have Spectrum DSL and I should be at 100 mbps but I thought because I’m in a apartment complex. Maybe it’s because of the old Asus AC 1200 I didn’t get past 80 mbps.

So I figure I’ll do a internet speed test on a Google extension I have.

There isn’t much this router can’t do. It is a perfect product for anyone looking for features that improve gaming and streaming experiences. There are more than 10 devices connected at a time and there has not been a loss of speed anywhere.

This router can easily cover our 3 floor with no issue. A computer streaming AAA games, an Xbox, and a streaming TV platform can all perform well with no issues. Setting up the router and connecting to my ISP was a piece of cake and took only a few minutes.

There is an app that helps guide you through and has all of the features you need. If there are children learning from home, the router has settings to make that a priority. If you prefer gaming you can make gaming the top priority.

This is a great router for a someone with little experience setting up a network and also a person who is advanced. I can’t rate this high enough. If I were to say something negative, it would be that there should be more Lan ports available.

4 is suitable, just wish there were a couple more. If your a person that has an RGB setup, this router would fit right into the setup. It’s very sleek looking and looks futuristic. I strongly recommend this router to anyone.

I bought this to add to my AiMesh, ended up using this as my primary router to go with My AC68U units. This is my primary router and I am so glad I got this. Even though my AC68U were great to use with this being My Primary I have increased speed on the internet, Increased Gaming capabilities, and Streaming of movies and videos has greatly improved.

I highly recommend this to anyone who likes a variaty of uses, It also has a built in protection from attacks. I know that there are newer and faster out there. but if you never plan on getting gigabit speeds but yet run speeds in download under 500mbs this is fantastic.

So glad I made this purchase. The Data rate capabilities are off the charts for me.

The game is very well put together with amazing graphics and fun to be had. Need for Speed offers some unique races, a huge open map and great multiplayer. However, the racing is short lived as you find yourself doing the same thing over and over again.

Also, the integrated constant online feature messes with your single player – as you are racing AI, online drivers could drive into you whilst free roaming, this then messes with your race. Overall, for the price – it is worth it.

However, the fun will not last unless you start finding your own challenges. There are only 50 cars in the game which is terrible, but the game focuses on customisation, so this is understandable. Graphics are stunning (other than the fact it is always night) the story isn’t very in depth but the multiplayer is very good.

Buy it if you love the franchise, if you want to play with friends or you don’t get bored easily. The game is good for street car lovers.

So the last NFS I played was ProStreet and I bought this based on having serious fun with NFS Underground. I played the NFS 2015 Beta and still kept my pre order. This game is full arcade, I will not compare it to Forza or Gran Turismo.

Car selection is limited, even more so are the bodykits. Ie. Can’t change the wheels on the F40 or the Supra only having two bumper options. The sounds of the cars are near enough, as you can hear the difference between a rotor/4banger/v8 etc.

Driving is always at night and the map can feel rather small if you teleport to every race. The AI are entertaining and can be challenging at times. Ranking up offers motor parts and the odd exterior mod.

No real detail tuning options, just a scaling system between drift and grip. (Yes you can change ride height, offset, brakes etc). The story/script is nothing special, rather cheesy. You join a crew and make yourself known to the scene through events.

The game is online only and I haven’t had any issues while playing. Hosting or getting your friends to join can be long winded as this isn’t as easy as it sounds. There’s fun to be had, so long as you don’t take the game seriously.

Drifting down the mountain with your friends whether it be an event or challenge is a hoot. Drifting… Well I said it was arcade and yeah this is a great example; no real skill require. Once you understand how the game wants you to drift, plunging into corners at high speed with multiple cars is a breeze.

My one sentence summary is just wait. Why, because the game doesn’t feel complete, it needs to patch a few bugs, release more content before I give it more than 5-6/10. If you enjoyed Midnight Club LA, NFS Underground then this will still well in your gaming collection.

I really like NFS. This one though seems to glitch way too much when the internet is actually fine. Others ps4 games don’t glitch like this one. I love the customization and the realistic visuals and everything.

I’ve played other NFS games and this one is alright but it could use some improvements in the system. Would definitely recommend tho!.

Great router. I had an Apple AirPort Extreme that seemed to be working fine so I thought there was no need to upgrade. 2020 hit and my kids ended up doing school from home while I worked from home. While I had never experienced any issues, the kids were having connection issues during Zoom meetings with their classes.

I have 1 gigabit internet speed through Comcast/Xfinity and had never seen much more than 550mbps over Wi-fi but figured it was a limitation of the devices I was using. Between seeing the low (for the plan) speeds and the kids having Zoom issues, I decided to get a Wi-fi 6 compatible router.

I did a bunch of research and this was one of the highest rated ones and I had my friend, a Sr. Network Engineer, look over the specs and he was impressed by it and now wants to get one. I bought it and set it up.

Setup was very easy and intuitive so the router was up and running in just minutes. The ASUS app is user friendly as well. While most devices on my network aren’t Wi-fi 6 compatible, my iPad and iPhone both are.

I was able to get up to 892mbps with this new router on my phone and up to 901mpbs on my iPad Pro, both of course over Wi-fi. My kids also both have not had a single issue with Zoom meeting connections after the upgrade.

This router was money well spent, especially with a smart home full of devices connected, me working from home, and my kids both on Chrome books doing school from home. If you are considering this router, I hope you find this review helpful.

I would absolutely buy this router if I had it to do again. It has been running flawlessly for a few months now and has been putting our gigabit service to good use. Oh, and range. The router is located in the middle of our home and we have a detached garage which gets a nice strong signal and a detached shed maybe 100 feet from the router through a few walls and across the yard that has a Wi-fi camera mounted to it which receives a good signal and allows for streaming from the camera so I find the range to be very good.

I bought 2 of these routers. The first one was purchased last year to address shortcomings in coverage for my 2 story home with large distances from the router. I originally paired it with a N66U ASUS router to extend my networks range.

However a lightning storm killed the old router and as a result I have now purchased a second one of these. They now act as a DUO with one as an ASUS Ai Mesh Node to the second. I have strong signal strength throughout the house wirelessly now and the router function as a mesh with both 1 GB Ethernet backbone and over 5GHz backhaul channel if the hard line uplink fails.

Connection quality is seamless throughout the 4000 sqft house with the range extending all the way down by the pool deck. All our devices migrate seamlessly between the mesh nodes as expected without a drop in speed or quality.

I have Mediacom, my speed very based on their service, not my equipment. But I have stead 500 to 800 MB down throughout the day over the Dual Band network of the 2GHz/5GHz management by the routers. Streaming anywhere in the house or working from home of wired or wireless is very efficient now.

Highly recommend these routers. The UI is very robust and easy to navigate whether you are a novice or an experienced network planner. My last ASUS Router lasted for more than a decade and only had to be swapped out due to aging radio tech and an unfortunate power surge.

ASUS makes products that last.

I waited until a month of ownership had passed to fully acquaint myself with this router before writing this review, and gathering an opinion on it/it’s features/quirks. Normally I’d lay out my reviews in the “pros/cons manner, but this is a router, and realistically that’s difficult to do.

Navigating the router – at first – was difficult as I’ve used Netgear exclusively ever since the Linksys WRT54G was “outdated” due to their ease of use and acceptability of open source firmware. I was a bit deterred to know that this router didn’t have open source capabilities, or any developers for such, but decided ultimately based off reviews to give it a chance anyway, and I’m quite glad I did.

I’ve not tested the USB throughput, however, if it’s performance is anything similar to what I’ve experienced on my network thus far I’ve got no doubt that it’ll reach it’s specified transfer rates. I’ve had ZERO issues with this router, and find the ease of doing some things (such as blocking internet access for my security cameras) is INSANELY easy (literally the click of a button vs Netgear’s multiple page/menu/submenu navigation then restarting the router every single time within ANOTHER MENU.

) Assigning static LAN IP’s is equally as easy, and I quite enjoy the fact that I can DISABLE automatic throughput prioritization for the “gaming” port on the wired LAN. The ability to set up temporary networks is really cool too, not a GUEST network – a temporary one, as in it vanishes in a set amount of time.

That’s pretty legit if a friend’s kids want to come over and use the internet, but I want to make sure that they don’t have it automatically the next day should I forget to disable the guest account, etc.

Being able to see CPU CORE usage – not just overall – memory usage, logging of multiple different aspects all SEPARATELY DDOS protection built in as well as ICMP requests, etc. are all very nice things to have.

The RGB is. basic, but it’s not like this is Corsair, afterall, naturally it’s going to be a lot less “fun” than it could be, but it’s not bad. It COULD be better, but that would come at the cost of RAM/CPU usage – so consider that.

The ease of use of this router is bar-none the BEST I’ve ever had in a managed atmosphere for networking devices, and I went to school for this. so there’s that. The CPU usage spikes pretty heavily on my 400Mbps/40Mbps network when I max out traffic during packet sniffing/loss tests/speed tests/large downloads, so it definitely HAS the potential for buffer overflow but I’ve yet to run into any, and have 5 LAN tablets, 3 Smart TV’s, 2 4k Blu-Ray streamers, 5 Bluetooth Audio Systems, a Switch, 4 Desktop PC’s, a Server, a HTPC, a fire stick, a laptop, and two smart phones all running through this router as well as 10 cameras, and I’ve had NO issues whatsoever without even enabling QOS or other “management” features.

Again – bar-none this is the BEST router I’ve ever owned. Period. I haven’t tested whether the RGB affects RAM/CPU usage or temps enough to care, but I’ve got mine mounted on an aluminum ‘shelf’ with perforations for airflow, and have had absolutely no hiccups whatsoever.

Build quality is good, decently heavy, but you can tell that the way they designed it was with airflow in mind. At numerous angles you can see through this router, and that’s a good thing!.

Comcast offered to upgrade my mother-in-law’s modem, but it sent a gateway, not just a modem, and there was already a new, high-end wireless router in use. Also, upon informing her she did not need to rent a modem, and could save hundreds by owning her own, she agreed to a purchase.

I spent considerable time with Comcast in chat and on the phone trying to get the unit activated, but in the end Comcast said it could not see the device and deemed it was defective. So after a purchase for her last night I was off to a different Walmart today to make an exchange at one that had a unit in stock.

No problem with the exchange, and I am happy I made the purchase at a local brick and mortar store for this very reason (three Walmart’s very close by), that with the state of mass produced modem and router builds these days, I knew there was a good chance I could get a lemon, and I did not want to wait days for shipping both ways.

What a comparatively worse aggravation that would have been. With the second unit I decided to bypass people and use Comcast’s automated activation site. It automatically pops up when you fire up the modem, and did so through my router right to my phone.

From the time I clicked continue after only inputting the Comcast account number and associated phone number, it was just 1-2 minutes and Internet connectivity was fully functional. No lie! Sweet system.

It says it could take 15 minutes, but for me it was lightening fast. Could not have been any easier. True plug and play so to speak. I am holding out on 5 stars because of the original unit. Hopefully this one will be fine, and if so I would give the whole process and product 6 stars if I could.

If I can come back and update this review I will, to reflect this much better second experience to 5 stars. Speed did not change because the plan speed was being adequately supported by the rental modem, but I expect not to see congestion because of the 16 x 4 channel bonding (the rental was 4 x 4).

Also, if the plan speed gets upgraded at some point the 686 speed will handle it. I picked the 6183 after several commercial review sites recommended it repeatedly. I think the TP-Link 7620 would have been an equally good choice, I almost went that route, but it would have been a longer drive to a competing store (not stocked at Walmart) to get and exchange it, so I feel good about my choice so far.

Time will tell. Hope your experience is good on your first attempt, but don’t give up if you run into problems. It is just the nature of the beast of cookie cutter electronics, and too be expected.

I plugged it in. Gave MAC# to cable provider. It worked. Speed as expected, basic performance. Durability/reliability unknown; too bad these rating schemes never provide info on failures over time. 3 stars, because 4 means “better than expected.

” It’s not better than expected. It doesn’t need to be. Good product so far. No regrets. I’d buy it again, and recommend it to others who want a basic DOCSIS 3. 0 cable modem.

This modem is amazing! I can’t believe I have been paying my ISP to rent a modem for 6 years, that added up to over $700. 00 and I got this one and it paid for itself in 3 months. Not only that my old modem needed rebooted 3 or 4 times a day and this sb6183 has been on for days and hasn’t needed rebooted at all.

Setup was super easy, just called my ISP and had it up and running in minutes. It is half the size of my old bulky modem also so you don’t have to worry about it taking up space. Very happy with this purchase.

absolutely amazing gameplay, car selection, graphics, game engine. couple glitches here and there but this always happens on new games so give a couple weeks for updates. i love the endless supply of modification both visual and performance, and i love finding the right balance between drift n grip.

i am level 50 on this game and i love it so much. only thing that bugs me are the cut scenes with the characters talking – cheesy as but oh well. i preordered this in june and i was very excited waiting the 6 months for it, and i wasnt dissapointed when i got it like others.

but yeah i love it so i hope you other customers do.

Graphically master piece, sound and cars are amazing. However the game is severely disappointing, broken AI, rubber banding and vulgar scenery make you scream abuse at the TV. EA games couldn’t have made a worse game if they’d tried because of the horrid sound track, AI and rubber banding it gets a 1 star.

Hire the game or borrow it.

More of the same. Nothing has been as big and grand since the Most Wanted remake. It has a story though so yay for bad dialogue. The racing, driving and customization is same old same old. Honestly there isn’t anything groundbreakingly new here and FOR GOODNESS SAKE WHO IS THE IDIOT THAT KEEPS MAKING THE NEED FOR SPEED GAMES UN-PAUSABLE!-.
