20 Best Uninsulated Rubber Hunting Boots (2023 Updated)

I bought these before I went on a hunting trip and had a horrible experience with them. Within minutes of leaving the truck and starting to walk I realised that these boots weren’t going to work for me.

Both my feet were in pain from the way the boot fit, I had to drive to the nearest town and buy some insoles but that didn’t work so I ended up buying a pair of $60 winter boots from a discount department store to finish the hunting trip and they were 10x more comfortable.

When I got back to my hometown I returned these boots for a pair of Irish Setter IceTrek’s and they feel great. Cabela’s did the return no problem and my new boots feel great but these ones just didn’t fit my foot at all when I was walking on uneven terrain and I would caution anyone buying them to really test them out before purchasing.

These cost me $80 on my hunting trip for insoles and cheap winter boots and then another $100 on a better pair of boots once I got back from my trip.

I tried to like them, but couldn’t. They seem to be well made, the materials feel good to the touch, the footbed was great and comfortable, but they really missed with the design to be used by hunters.

First off, they’re too wide which wasn’t a deal breaker at all. They are pretty true to shoe size also, slightly larger. The biggest flaw is the gusset/shaft of the boot. It’s way too wide and can’t be tightened.

I could take them on and off easily without unzipping. I literally could’ve fit my thigh in them and I’m 200lbs. They would easily fit thick insulated pants and still have gaps, but you don’t really need snake boots in the dead of winter.

I’d bet they are snake proof because not a single section of the shaft will be touching your leg! Final draw for me to box them back up for return was that the huge gusset sounds like a flip flop slapping the front and back of your leg while walking even with pants stuffed inside the boot.

That definitely won’t work for hunting! Very disappointing because I was excited to get these in and head out, but I never left my house before printing the return label. I’ll be ordering lacrosse arrows.

Always heard great reviews of the Irish Setter rubber boots, so decided to try them out. Used the boots for approximately 2weeks. Loved how the boots felt and wore during use. I was putting my boots on one day getting ready to go hunting when i realized a L shape tear approximately half way up my right boot.

Apparently I had snagged it on something and didn’t even realize it. I was very disturbed of the poor quality of the product to say the least. There is a good note though, I purchased these boots through Sportsman’s Guide and when I contacted Customer Support they were very friendly and professional.

Without hesitation they sent me another pair of boots. Hopefully I can give a better review on this pair of boots, but as far as Sportsman’s Guide goes I give them % STARS Thanks again.

For the serious, deep cold winter hunter that likes rubber boots. These are super warm, and I have frostbite in my toes and get colder faster than average. I did end up returning them and going with a 1400gr boot instead for my needs because these are seriously really warm and personally I’m more of a laces boot guy than rubber.

They are quite bulky and on the heavier side but that’s what you get with that much insulation. Prepare yourself to have correct expectations, you will look like you’re walking in clown boots/moon shoes.

I have bought and used these boots in the past. Unfortunately, this last pair was not up to expectations. (1) The rubber used must have changed. My boots cracked on the toes where the boots flex. These are just hunting boots in South Carolina so really not used hard.

But with the cracks, my socks and feet got wet. Spoiled the deer hunt since I had wet feet. (2) The upper part of the boot is not as think and durable as previous pairs- – -don’t know why. The price is good especially if you are a club member- – -but it they don’t last- -then maybe another brand would be better.

Used Shoe Goo to plug up cracks and leaks so probably can’t return the boots. Fit was fine for my feet. Will have to think about any future purchase of these boots.

I use a creek valley to access several of my archery stands. When the creek is a little higher due to recent rain, I need to have completely waterproof boots. I love my Muck boots but one developed a small tear.

I saw these and they were a decent price. Unfortunately, like several other reviews, I realized these are WAY tighter than they should be. Even one pair of socks make it difficult to put on. I also have difficulty tucking in my pants to contain scent.

I will wear these if I HAVE to, but I will choose my Muck boots every single time. Same size for both pair.

Bought these boots 4 years ago, we live in New York state so a good boot is a must. Boots held up great, the tread barely show any wear. Still comfortable to wear all day and the camo pattern is just starting to fade after 4 yrs.

Very easy on and off but my biggest problem with these is the soles. Get these in a little mud about an inch and forget it; they suction cup themselves right into the mud to the point you either have to step out of the boot and wrestle your boot back or hope to find a stick to break the suction.

I have been walking along suddenly the boots suction themselves in good and I have fallen at least 20 times. Several times it took 2 people to get my boot back out of mud that is about 2inches deep. They don’t keep your feet warm down to the rating, maybe down to 15-20 degrees.

I have been researching snake boots for over 3 months. I’ve been thru one pair of Red Heads (worn slap out in 3yrs). My current pair of Red Heads are over a yr old and KILL my ankles when hiking so gotta have something more comfortable.

DryShod had very little info online describing their snake resistant materials used, testing used-and just claimed these ViperStop are not 100% snake proof nor is any other snake boot. I researched DryShods brand and learned they are under partnership/ownership of a gentleman who originated MUCK.

I called their corporate office and the person could only read me the ‘snake protection info’ I’d already seen. had no other knowledge or info to pass on so I lost confidence in the ViperStops. THEN, 1 week later (2 days ago) on a whim, I looked back at the DryShod ViperStop page open in my browser and saw they added a substantial description to these boots about the snake protection materials used, the testing procedures with type and lengths of snakes for testing!!! So I’m completely confident that my phone call came up in a meeting at corporate and was rectified-with their new elaborated testing info (more than any brand I have found out there).

I ordered my new boots yesterday and will provide another review after inspecting/wearing them. 4 stars because I need to see how the feel and last. Way to go DryShod corporate!.

I needed a new pair of boots to replace an old pair of 800 gram LaCrosse that were starting to develop cracks. Use them in fall to cross swamps to get to deer stands until freeze up and then can switch to pack boots.

I saw these with the -50F temp rating and thought maybe these would work all season. Well, when I opened the box I could tell right away they were way too slim to have much insulation. So far I’ve used them for about a week in temps down to 9 degrees.

I’m 50 years old but in good shape with no circulation issues and often work outside. I your doing physical activity I would rate these to about 0 degrees. For tree stand hunting I’d say about 20 degrees, anything below that my feet got cold even with a good pair of wool socks on.

The good, they are more comfortable and easier to get on and off than the LaCrosse. Seem to be well built with decent traction on snow and mud. I really like the neoprene uppers, easy to tuck your pants into, and you can tighten the top so they don’t flop around as you walk and make noise.

Also keeps snow and twigs from falling down inside the boot. Can’t really comment on durabilty yet, will update this later if there are issues.

These are a Christmas gift from my wife. I haven’t actually worn them yet, but I did try them on once they arrived to ensure proper fit. These will be my first pair of Muck Boots, but all of my hunting friends swear by them.

During our last hog hunt we had to navigate several branches and streams, some over 12” deep. My friends walked right through, while I had to go downstream and find another spot to cross since my boots weren’t waterproof.

That is why when my wife asked what I wanted for Christmas I told her about these boots. My wife bought them during Tractor Supply’s Black Friday sale and saved $70 off the normal retail.

I bought my pair 3 years ago for working in the rain. Only used during the winter during rain days. Being a foreman the boots didn’t get the wear and tear the men actually doing the work dish out. Started using them recently for fishing with the boys.

Fish for striper and cats on a deep water shipping channel that has a ledge you can walk out on during low tide. This means sometimes I’ll be standing in water that’s up to the bottom of my calf. Boots started seeping water at the seems recently.

This is a bummer because they haven’t been used a lot and have been stored properly in a cool dry place. I called Muck to see what they could do and said the warranty is one year, but they could give me a 25% discount on a new pair.

This is great but it seems their prices are 25% more than most stores. Ended up buying a new pair at BPS. We’ll see if these ones leak or give out in 3 years. Boots literally look brand new but seep water.

Kinda bummed. Bought the red heads for my two boys. We’ll see how they do.

Bought the after $ owning an older pair of muck boots that lasted about 7 years with no leaks. Unfortunately. “1” They have leaked almost every time that I have used them going through snow for more 2 hours.

“7”Had a coworker purchase the same exact model and had the same problem. “0” For what the ” above mentioned but not mentioned price” was or wasn’t I am extremely disappointed. Both my coworker and I will be returning these as soon as possible and will not be making the same mistake again.

Either there is a quality control problem when there manufacturing these or there just poorly designed.

I have worn Muck boots for years. They’re a great product and although I’m a firm believer in the old idiom “you get what you pay for”, I still think these boots are overpriced and like the Barbour brand, there has become a bit of a “snob / status” thing about them, which is a shame.

No doubt Muck will state that that the price tag is due to the high quality of materials used etc, just like Barbour used to. However, I am of the opinion that there are a lot of “non-Barbour” jackets now being manufactured that are of the same quality as the original at a fraction of the price and that the more savvy and less label-conscious consumer out there, will start to look for an alternative boot manufacture at some stage…still, there will always be the label-mongers, so I don’t think Muck has anything to worry about if they’re not concerned about giving the best value for money.

This boot is great. You need the right boots for what you are doing. I should probably wear steel toe, but I trade a little safety for the awesome comfort these boots provide, and I’m all about that.

I’m cutting stone and quartzite up to 55 hrs a week year after year, it’s a lot of water and heavy lifting. This boot has been the best by far, I stay dry and comfortable, at the age of 58 I need every advantage I can get.

I do replace them every 6 to 8 months then my co-workers use them.

I am a size 8 in shoes and boots. The size 8 felt very loose and too big. I asked my son who takes a size 9 to try them on for size comparison. He said they fit him “like a glove”. When contacted Muckboot said it’s the first report they’d had of this.

Standard response really. I was told I could return them, but at my own expense. So I did and received a not so speedy refund 2 WEEKS later After wasting £11 on return postage charges there was no way I was going to risk a smaller size.

They were a very nice boot that would have been perfect for what I wanted them for if they’d have fitted. Oh well. That was my first and last foray into online footwear shopping. Never again. I’ll shop in local stores from now on to be sure of a good fit.

I purchased these as a gift for my husband. He tried them on at the store. He wore them out hunting the first two days. His exact words were ” These are the most expensive worst boots I have ever owned.

” The sole was not strong causing his feet to hurt. The boots rubbed on the back of his shins causing sores not on one but both legs. I have read hundreds of reviews on these boots and did my research, disappointed is an understatement.

These boots are overrated. I contacted Muck boot by email. Their response was bring it back to Tractor Supply and return them under the warranty, and they would let them know they were coming back. They did not.

Spoke with Manager at my store and she advised me to bring them in and she would return them no questions asked. Spend your money wisely, and my opinion is this is not wise.

I enjoy lengthy walks in nature and whilst my walking boots were adequate for the summer months, I needed some totally waterproof boots for ventures into extremely muddy places during the wet winter season! I had some basic, inexpensive wellies and after a short walk in these, I ended up with sore ankles as they rubbed and were a poor fit.

After much research, I settled on trying some Muck Boots for an upgrade. Happy to say, these wellies are excellent and very comfortable for extended periods of wear having walking on varied terrain, and they are 100% waterproof.

The neoprene upper makes them feel lighter and not at all clumsy like traditional wellies do. The insoles are cushioned and soft, featuring a special coating to prevent odours.

I own several pairs of Muck brand boots for different temperature ratings. I use them for work and recreation. They are outstanding and they stand up to the harsh conditions of oilfield work, farm work, and hunting.

I bought the wetland boot for hunting and farm work. The sole on this boot has great traction and keeps you from sliding around. They work great for the cold of North Dakota. Walking around a lot in temps above 40 F will get warm, standing or sitting in temps -10 F feet can get cold.

They pretty much perform in the temp range they are supposed to. If it’s warmer I throw on the chore and if it’s colder I throw on the attic sport or attic pro. Great boots that get the job done!.

I’m a size 15 on the foot scale that almost no footwear vendor pays attention to and the size 15 here fits perfectly. Maybe even a little small if I were to pack on two pairs of thick socks. I have a narrow foot and given the fit I suspect that those with wider feet might find it pinches in the middle.

It’s a rubber boot with a felt liner so it’s clearly going to pass the waterproof test. Easy to slip on and off. Nice tread. Bought on a summer sale so I haven’t used it in the winter yet. This said, I’m skeptical of the -40C claim.

Moving around with good socks at -40C? Maybe. Standing around at -40C with or without good socks? Unlikely given that I have a pair of standing around at -40C boots and they have a lot more insulation (soles are made to hold you off the snow, extra insulated footbed, thicker liner, fur ruff) but they’re a lot heavier and a pain to tie up.

Looking forward to active times with dry feet in the -20C range. =).

I bought these about 4 years ago and 2 years ago I bought a pair of Baffin hunting boots (was on a trip where I forgot these). Today I had to toss out the garbage Baffin boots (see my other review) because they were falling apart with cracks all over the rubber and holes.

The Kamik boots look just like new! The Kamik has been worn a lot more based on how worn down the soles are, but I think I can get at least 2-3 more years out of them. My only complaint is that these are a bit short.

They are almost 2 inches shorter than the Baffin boots. Keep up the good work Kamik.

Great for keeping your feet dry, good for in deep snow in winter, way better rubber base than Canadian Tire version. Unfortunately the back seams of the material portion on both boots tore pretty quickly, and am in the process of replacement.

Hopefully the new ones last longer and was just a fluke! Size 11 were way too large, size 10 are good but a bit snug and have adjusted well after use (10. 5 could be nice if they did half sizes).

I went to the local Cabela’s with the intent of purchasing a pair of Grange boots. I had a pair 15+ years ago that I gave to my brother because they were too small but I loved them. He still wears them today.

I bought the hip boots maybe 10-12 years ago and they are excellent, love them! I need another pair today so I ran to Cabela’s because they had one pair in my size. I opened the box to try them on and I looked the boot over.

First, the material is thinner and flimsy, but I could get over that but then I looked at the sole. The soles used to be rubber, softer rubber that gripped on anything you walked on. When I looked at this new pair the sides of the sole were the typical rubber but the sole itself that was molded into the rubber was of all things plastic! Hard plastic.

I put the boots on and I could literally slide on the carpet in the store!! There isn’t a chance in the world I’d buy a boot like this. I wouldn’t stand a chance on a wet rock or on ice when the plastic hardens even more.

So sad to see a true classic go to junk in exchange for keeping the price low. What’s worse is that the sole in the picture on the website is NOT the sole that I looked at! It was so painfully obvious that the plastic sole was molded into the rubber.

The colors were different. So the website shows the traditional sole while the one I tried on looked cheap as all get out! So now I’m done with La Crosse. Onward to a competitor’s boot today that I didn’t want to buy, but now I am.

Just wanted La Crosse to know it lost another customer because of its cheap boots.

I’ll start by saying I was a long time user of the original burly and they outlasted any new boot today on the market. Unfortunately it came time to buy a new pair and I decided to go with what I knew.

Upon receiving my new boots they lasted about 3-4 weekends of hunting and the inner seam came apart on the boots. Although the fit was great out of the box it seems as if the materials are not the same as before and they came apart quickly from walking the north woods of NY.

I sent the pair back to Lacrosse for a refund and ordered another pair. Ordered in the end of October I just received them 1/29. Starting to wonder what happened to the company I once knew but customer service was amazing and would never be nervous to work with those folks who gave me great direction on the return.

Durability of the new pair…. we shall see.

These are the perfect all round soft-toe rubber boots. They have a classic North American design all their own. The fit and feel is perfect. The rubber is softer than Hunter, as soft as Le Chameaux, (both much more expensive), and thinner than either, thus creating an extremely cofy tactile fit for a relatively economical, but very high quality male rubber boot.

My only quibble is the only color, green. Wish they had this model in classic black too. There are many occasions besides gardening when you need a top quality high soft toe rubber boot, like, rain, or slushy snow, but also need a more dressy color than gardening green.

And speaking of a range of wet condictions where you aren’t afraid of a hammer falling on your toes, why isn’t there a short version of this boot in black or any color. Seems like reverse sexism to me when their are a whole handful of short La Crosse women’s rubber boots, but not a single classic rubber boot in ankle size for men who have a man sized foot.

Hunter has them. Le Chameaux used to have them. But until the design team catches up for men, these are the best feeling soft toe real rubber boots you can buy , even if only in green, and at a very fair price, a hidden winner.

I have worn these boots ever since we carried them in our Western Store in 1980 through 1988. I am a farmer/rancher, very involved in the cattle and all aspects of ranch life. Which means, I am outdoors in all kinds if weather.

We live in Eastern Washington, near the Canadian Border, and have snow and cold temperatures. These boots never fail me! They are comfortable and keep my feet warm, even in below zero temperatures. I have never been without them since 1980.

I even wear them as snowmobile boots and they have kept me warm while putting 100 miles a day on my machine while vacationing in Montana! I will never ‘ve without my Lacrosse Insul Pacs and I’m pushing 80!.

The boots are a fantastic quality. The support and arch give these boots a walkability that is hard to beat in a rubber boot. The height of 12 inches is perfect for a work boot that is worn in mud and manure on a daily basis.

I work on farms everyday and these boots are so easy to take on and off multiple times. The boots have good traction but are easy to clean off with a hose and a little water. I like the comfort and fit.

The insulation is just enough to keep you warm on cold days and not too much to make you sweat on hot days.

I am a Land Surveyor and big game hunter, and am in need of waterproof boots of varying size. The Trapline hip boot is perfect, doesn’t rub or try to collapse, with the LaCrosse fit on my feet and ankles.

I have been wearing the Pac as my father did since the 60’s. These boots fight off briars and keep my feet warm in our Maryland winters. Love these boots and will continue to buy them as I need them.

After major ankle surgery 3 years ago I had found that Danner’s High Ground boot provided the features that allowed me to walk somewhat normally and with less pain. Unfortunately that boot had major issues with its lacing system.

After going through return after return, which Danner gracefully accepted they stopped making the High Ground. The only Danner boot that I could find that was built on the same last was the Vital. When I received my first pair I was a bit disappointed as the nylon material was lighter in weight than the High Ground, but after wearing that pair for months, working on the ranch, hiking and hunting I have found that I actually like the Vital better than the High Ground.

First of all, the lacing system is better, not prone to breakage, and yet allows me to lace the boot up very tight, giving me the ankle support I need. I could never get the High Ground as tight as I can the Vitals.

I wore a pair of uninsulated Vitals pheasant hunting for 19 days this past fall and had no foot pain, no issues with wear (I’ve had other boots literally wear through to my socks in less time in similar conditions) and a few days of wet, mud and snow.

My feet stayed dry. With that performance I purchased the 400g boots. Our ranch is near Gunnison, Colorado and therefore we often are very cold in the winter. I find that with a minimal level of activity the 400g boot keeps my feet warm without overheating.

I keep a pair of the 1200g boots for operating equipment where my feet are on cold steel for hours at temperatures often below 0F. The Vital is my “go to” boot for work, hiking and hunting. The metal lacing tubes are a little hard on laces, but comfort and performance far outweigh that small concern.

Oh, and last, my ankle was fused in that surgery. The Vitals, like the High Ground have extended tongue gussets that allow me to get the boots on and off without a struggle. Thanks Danner! I’m walking again.

I bought these boots and took them out on a 4 day deer hunt. First of all they are not a strong boot very flimsy. The waterproof did not work at all and it hardly rained. My feet were soaking wet the rest of the time.

The insoles got torn up just from walking and laces very week. I tried to take them back and return them with the cabelas boot policy. They wouldn’t not take them even tho they were obviously a defected boot.

They people at cabelas could not tell my why they couldn’t take them or even send them back to danner! Please don’t buy this boot they will not meet your standards.

Wow what great feeling boot with solid support, light weight and awesome cushion! It all went down the drain literally when I walked across a dew laden field. My wife’s feet were dry in her oboz and my were soaked wet.

I was so disappointed and then mad – these boots are not the least bit waterproof and I feel they should not be advertised as such. Cabela’s took them back and apologized. I have 3 danner boots and they fit me great but this was a joke, I could of got more water protection from a pair sneakers.

I had only wore them hunting 3 times and then this bs happened in the field. Back to lacrosse.

So HAPPY with these boots! I needed to replace my current chore boots which were twice as much as the Habit insulated boots. I made the right choice by purchasing these boots! I live in the snowbelt and we get a lot of deep snow and our temps can be negative zero! These boots were perfect with wearing one pair of socks! I wear a women’s size 8 and bought a man’s size 8! I just wanted the room if I ever need to add another pair of socks or add insulated pads to the boots.

I bought these in Black. These boots fit perfectly in my snow shoes. I would recommend these boots!.

Bought for my grandson for creek walking. He loves them – they keep his feet dry and are nice and high to keep the water out. I also have a pair myself and they are great for snow shoveling – they kept my feet warm and are nice and high to keep the snow out.

Also used them for working outside when it was muddy.

Great boots and company! Very comfortable and waterproof. Very reasonably priced as well. I love the thick tread on these vs other more popular brands which didn’t hold up. These have been super durable and perfect for the winter mud living on a farm!.

I’ve gone through many insulated boots similar to this in other brands through the years and this boot is far superior in every single way. I never realized that a rubber boot could possibly be as comfortable as this one! It actually amazed me in every way.

Walking in these things are a joy and not so much of a job as some other heavily insulated boots are. They are big and that should be expected with 1600 gram insulation but not as Frankenstein-ish as the others.

They look amazing and just contour awesomely to the ground. Kept my feet nice and warm with the correct socks sitting in my treestand most of the day in 30 degree weather. And my feet are always the first things on me to feel any sort of cold in that situation.

I definitely wouldn’t hesitate on this purchase especially if you can get it on sale like I did.

Decent boot. Careful getting out of treestand. Boots are little bulky and rubber tends to push you forward when you are leaning. Keeps your feet dry and warm like muck boots. Better quality I would say.

Still new to the boots plan on wearing them Ice fishing this coming season.

This pair of boots are a bit stiffer than mucks. They are very good in rough terrain. More support walking on side hills. Toes do not jamb the front on down hills. Good traction on up hills. I don’t feel as tired after walking rough terrain.

It is my opinion that these boots are very good warm weather boots.

Having used similar products in the past, I thought I would try the Auto Glym bumper and trim gel as I have always been pleased with their products. This is no acception, one of the quickest ways to improve the look of your car and very easy to apply.

Just wipe on plastics with a cloth after washing the car. Used it on grey/dull bumper trims and wing mirrors and it made them look new. Probably the best improvement for effort of any car cleaning product I’ve used.

I bought it on recommendation by owners club for use on RCZ metal roof rails. Wasn’t expecting such a great result as product not generally used for such application. Excellent product for easy clean and protect plastics.

Bumpers come up like new.

I have a 20+ year old long wheel Base camper which was showing her age. I painted this stuff on with a paintbrush and buffed it dry the next day with an old t shirt. Now her bunkers and runs are black again and she looks 10yrs younger!.

These are great boots for the price. Fit fit is slightly large on me but they are comfortable even on longer walks. This is my second pair after 5 years of light to moderate use. The rubber at the top of the forefoot started coming apart so I bought a second pair.

If they increased the rubber thickness in some areas this would be the best boot anywhere at this price.

Very affordable pair of rubber boots. The last pair of boots I have still are mud magnets and needed some rubber ones. Tamarack boots sure do come handy in real muddy, rough terrain situations and slides on and off quick with no zipper and fits well.

Cleanup is quick with just hot water if needed. Would totally recommend, and again, worth the price.

They are comfortable and the price is right, I would recommend them , just like the picture shows !

Great idea to offer a rubber boot with an expandable cuff to fit larger legs or allow one to tuck in pant legs. I’ve always found other Muck boots to be quite snug around the top rim. The problem with these boots is that they leak at the bottom of the seam for the expandable proration at the top of the boot.

I tried and sent back three pairs and all of them leaked at this weak point. So if you don’t need them to be waterproof above mid shin these will be fine but as soon as you stand in water above that stitch line your feet will be soaked.

Disappointing.

Muck Boots are incredible. Customer service top notch without speaking a word. The first pair didn’t fit my husbands foot as he is hard to fit. The return label was in the box and so easy too. I ordered the next size and they ship the next day!I have never seen anything like that! The new pair is perfect.

I bought these boots (first Muck purchase) specifically for deer hunting in southwest Texas where the temperatures range from 25 – 50 degrees on average. I was able to use them this year and am very disappointed I did not buy these sooner.

Very comfortable, really warm (with just cotton socks), easy to get on and off and waterproof. I will be buying more in 2017 for my 2 boys to hunt in. I would not recommend this particular style of Muck boots for temperatures much higher than 60 degrees as they could get too warm to wear and be uncomfortable.

They are perfect for my needs.

I recently purchased these boots to wear for field work on a farm in Southern New Hampshire anticipating I’d need them in the field where we pasture our livestock (chickens, cows, sheep). They’ve outperformed my expectations as there were very few reviews on this new style and I’ve never owned a pair of “rain boots” or “muck boots” as an adult.

I think the size is true to form. They’re incredibly comfortable. The sole is removable and dries quick. The outer sole seems to be rugged, has held up on rough terrain through end of March and all of April.

I’ve even worn these hiking in the woods, they run up a trail quite nicely. I may buy another pair. I really dig the white and lighter colors because it’s easier for me to spot ticks, too! Would highly recommend to a field laborer and someone just looking for a sweet pair of rain boots to run around in.

I really like the flexibility and comfort of these boots! The main reason that I’ve docked them two stars is for their inability to keep my feet dry. We have had torrential amounts of rain in our area, and my boots have gotten completely soaked inside twice.

Yesterday, I was walking through my back yard in them and felt something cool. It’s seems as if water may be slightly seeping in from somewhere. Also, I took my boots off yesterday, and as I slid off one of the shoes, the sole insert lifted up and became all scrunched in the heel area.

It was difficult to get it to lay flat again. I’m not necessarily pleased. But, they are comfortable, I like the style, they’re very flexible, and would be great boots for drier climates!.

These boots are the most comfortable I have ever worn. The footbed is heavenly. They are lightweight and beautifully made. However, the width of the calf area is GIGANTIC. I have other women’s Muck boots and the calves are always sized appropriately, so I’m guessing the width is off because these are unisex.

Regardless, I can fit a tin can between the outside edge and my calf! I can barely cinch the top tight enough to contact my leg, and even then they look like huge balloons at the top and flop back and forth when I walk.

Great idea, nicely made – but please design a pair specifically for women!.

The wetland muck boots are pricey but because they last so long they’re affordable. On my second pair of this same boot over 13 years. They support the feet well so walking a lot in them is easy on your feet.

They are true to size for fit. I live in the midsouth and wear them all year for garden and yard work. I even turkey hunt in them walking a great deal and they make their own camo when they get muddy.

I will be looking into a low top style muck boot for summer for a cooler alternative and going into town. The upper neoprene calf part can be rolled down as well to make them a sort of mid size boot that I just learned.

100% waterproof.

They were a purchase for a friend of mine. He works in the area of building maintenance and frequently has to walk in wet, and often muddy, areas. He loves them. Keeps his feet dry and are just the right height.

I had previously had a pair of these and was very satisfied with many years of hard use. I wore the new ones several times in rough conditions traversing brushy marshes with water 10-16 inches deep. No snags, no leaks.

The only complaint I had was the lingering strong rubber odor but if the deer worried about it it wasn’t obvious. A daily spat down with scent killer plus the pungent odor of marsh muck seems to have eliminated it after a few days.

Delivery was prompt as well. A very good boot that I expect to get at least three to five years of reliable service hunting and fishing.

I couldn’t say no to a new pair of Lacrosse Burly, as they were on sale at Moosejaw… (I never bought a pair at such low price!) and they offered free shipping, as well. This is my first pair of Lacrosse Burly and just like the rest of the Lacrosse family, (I have a few pairs of the Lacrosse Grange, Big Chief hip waders…) it’s incredibly comfortable… they fit me so well, and they are handsomely crafted as well.

They look and feel good. i enjoy wearing them when I go to the park, or work on my garden… or when it rains. Every man should have a pair of these boots in his wardrobe. They are worth every penny!.

If you’re someone who has a particularly wide foot then these boots are perfect. Comfortable to wear while walking or driving (can’t say the same for other brands of the same size). Very warm and well insulated (took these to the arctic circle and they performed great.

) After searching for YEARS for a pair of hunting boots that are both comfortable and reliable these are definitely the pair for me.

My initial impression of these boots was very positive. The package and wrapping paper had a “premium” look to them and I felt like I had received a good amount of value. That’s where things start to go downhill.

The synching design of these boots does not do anything for me. I have huge calves and still cannot fill up the uppers of these boots. They do not synch tight for me and I would imagine unless you are a really big fella, you’ll notice the same.

My hope was to keep them tight enough so that burrs, sticks, rocks, and rainfall would be kept out, but they serve no purpose other than visual. Another annoyance is the inside of the boot where your heel rests.

The inside of the boot has rough edges and I wore through many pairs of socks in the brief period where these boots remained waterproof. It is such a glaring error that I feel LaCrosse did not field test them properly.

I imagine others will develop blisters from this, or wreck socks as I did. The other disappointing aspect of these boots is that they only lasted about four months before they began cracking. This is despite applying rubber protectant spray, keeping them clean, and out of the sun.

I did put about 350-450 miles on them, but I would expect the tread to wear out first. Now they have developed cracks on the sides of the foot part of the boot and are no longer waterproof. On balance, I think these still deserve three stars.

If you are not going to walk very far in these, then perhaps they will last you a year or two. I think they look nice, but be aware that the straps do not tighten very far and appear purely cosmetic.

I have not given up on the brand, and will be buying a different pair immediately as I need waterproof boots daily.

I may have gotten a defective pair, but the left boot is near impossible to remove with a single pair of thin socks on, right one is only slightly easier. Wore them out in 26 wind chill this AM, toes were freezing after sitting for an hour.

Boots are too tight at ankle to wear thick socks or 2 pairs like I used to. I had to stick my foot in a door and use that as leverage to remove the boot. My brother recommended them to me, but he was unaware that they don’t all have side zippers like his.

He highly recommends the brand and boot, but I do not recommend getting the one without the side zip. You cant stuff pants leg in them as the top is also too narrow, so pants end up soaking up whatever the boot is protecting you from.

In my case, swamp water and mud. And if my pair wasn’t defective, then they are poorly designed at the ankle for removal. A quick google search shows many complaints of them being hard to remove, so again, great brand, but find the ones with the side zip, not these ones.

This review is actually probably a 4. 5. I bought these boots for upland hunting in eastern Montana, eastern Washington and release sights in Oregon. I chose these boots due to the height and ankle support.

The ankle support was a vast improvement over other rubber boots and about even with my beans boots. The tread was great and they held up great to cactus and sage. I never felt they were too warm but I used different thicknesses of socks depending upon the weather.

My feet never got tired or ached even after hiking for 8-10 miles in uneven terrain. My only complaint, and other mentioned it, is the camo pattern fades from walking thru grass/sage/cattails. Not a deal breaker and doesn’t impact functionality but is noticeable.

I’d buy these again.

I got mine mid summer 2022, I had the brown pair last year and they where both very comfortable. I got these cause I tripped on barbed wire in the dark and it poked a hole in last years pair. These seemed to have a slightly slimmer fit than the brown ones or maybe they are just newer and not quite as broken in.

But I’d rather have a slimmer fit to match my slim feet. I tryed the arrow head sport last year and I didn’t buy them cause they felt too loose on the heel. They felt like a pair of sliders gripping tighter around the top of foot but loose on the heel.

They seemed better suited for colder weather wearing bigger socks n such. They also have a much wider profile which looks huge like “spaceboots”. Seems like they would be more noisy if stealth is necessary.

These alpha agility’s fit way better in my opinion for me. I wear 14 in my tennis shoes but I wear 13 in these and they fit great. I’ve walked probably 6 miles so far in these this summer and zero issues.

I also wear 13 in the alpha burly as well but they don’t come in a snake proof design. I use these deer hunting in NC until late October- mid November. But if this is your only pair they will probably work year round with the proper socks.

Also getting in and out of these is no problem like the rest of lacrosse styles just use heel to toe and they kick off fairly easily.

I was trudging multiple kilometers each day for 9 days straight on the North Slope of Alaska. These boots kept my feet dry, warm, and stable over the soggy tundra with tussocks to twist ankles and dwarf birch to scratch at the neoprene upper.

I also had to walk through some small streams and along the edges of a rocky river. The results: some minor scratches on the rubber, the neoprene looks good, and no leaks despite creasing the boots considerably at times and the questionable-looking glue between the layers.

I’m hoping these will last me the rest of the summer for work in streams in the Berkshires. I never had to dry them, but I also never over-topped. The sole was appropriate for the tundra and mud (as is advertised), but slipped a bit on slimy rocks and loose gravel.

My other chief complaints: I wish they went higher, so I could walk across/into deeper streams (they only go 2/3 up my lower legs, though I am 6′ 5″); they are a little large–my left foot is size 13 and my right is a centimeter smaller, but the size 13s I ordered required at least a pair of thick mountaineering wool socks to fit comfortably; and they are a bit more than I would be willing to pay under normal circumstances at $120.

Overall, I recommend them for people doing similar work to me.

I’m thankful they lasted 10 months which is 8 months longer than Cabela and Rocky on waterproof capabilities. They are insanely comfortable from the start with no break-in period. They are cool. However, after 10 months, the plastic split at the top of the ankle and there’s a hole where water pours through.

I only use the boots twice a week for a day’s worth of work, so it is disappointing they only lasted 10 months. I’d prefer that the boot shafts weren’t wrapped in the flimsy fabric that gets destroyed in 3 months.

But having waterproof boots that are also snake boots have been amazing for the last 10 months. I will order another pair because for 10 months they are the best you can buy, period. I’m just not sure why the men’s waterproof snakeboots have a full plastic shaft going up the shin and we don’t.

And of course. they are typically less money. Lacroose is definitely on the right path for having the best snake and waterproof boots available for women. They just need to go back to the drawing board and tidy up the problems.
