20 Best Underwear For Big Men (2023 Updated)

I wanted some undershirts for summer wear around the house. Regular t-shirts are thicker and considerably warmer; undershirts, thinner and cooler. I’d ordered some Hanes 3XL but they weren’t as large as I’d hoped.

There’s been size shrinkage for some time (just experienced it again with Lee Dungarees – a 40 is now a 36/38). So I looked around and found Big Tall Men’s undershirts. Yep, they’re big. I over-ordered: he 4XL was a little like a tent.

But I got what I wanted. Well, a bit more but that’s OK. They haven’t shrunk appreciably. The fabric is pleasantly soft; in that respect they’re better than the Hanes that lost their softness after a couple of washings.

But really, one can’t expect a lot for $10 for a 3-pack, eh?Next time I’d go for a 3XL but in no way am I dissatisfied or disappointed in the 4XL. For once I got the size I ordered! What a unique experience.

Extremely disappointed. I have bought FOTL t shirts for years and NEVER had a problem until today. When I opened the package which Fed Ex tossed in my yard, I noticed what appeared to be a spot on one of the shirts.

It was a hole. The package was fully intact so I checked the other shirts. Another one has a 3/4 inch snag in the fabric. I am assuming this package of shirts is defective due to dry rotting and or production machine issues.

When I filled out the return info it says this is from a third party seller. When I purchased it online it said fulfilled by walmart. Now I have to waste ink printing out a return slip and gas returning it to the store and will have to wait until the third party receives it to get a refund.

Don’t waste your money. Buy in store so you can check the quality.

Ihave a hard time sleeping in night gowns that have anything other than pure or 100% cotton. Many years ago, when I was younger, I got the idea of buying mens undershirts from the Big and TAll department.

Wore for years, then the stores did away with the BG areas and they were hard to find in v-neck. I found these and ordered them to try. I LOVE THEM! They are perfect. I order them HUGE. 4x. v-neck. They fall to my knees just slike a nightgown.

Large in the arms for comfort. I do not bother with taking them in a tad with stitching, I leave them huge. So incredibly soft. So thick you cannot see throught them, but wre not heave and cumbersome.

I am definitely ordering more. I would love it if I can find the same in long sleeve for winter. Will search it out.

Underwear is comfortable IF you get the right size. These run small. I have worn a large for many years yet I had to eat my first order and order XL for the right fit. Very frustrating. Also the order arrived in a extra large plastic mailer.

The underwear was rolling around in a worn and broken (ripped through) cardboard fruit brand holder which still had it’s basic integrity and shape and still contained the underwear but was not wrapped in any plastic.

It looked like old warehouse stock. I have not yet worn this batch but I expect they will be comfortable like the previous order of XL underwear. I wish I could buy this locally and not depend on online sales and shippers.

Also my points did not seem to carry over. Oh well.

I’m not sure what happened to FotL’s quality control but the 2 packages I purchased are not what they used to be. I buy briefs because I like the way they keep things held in place. Further, I buy in a size medium because my thighs are skinny and although a size large would be slightly better around my waist, the mediums help keep things where they should be around my legs.

Unfortunately, it seems the the leg holes on the two packages recently purchased are very inconsistent. One pair, for example fits visibly tighter around my left thigh as compared to the right. In fact, the right side is so large that nothing seems to be held in place.

As for the remaining pairs (I bought two packages of four), although not as bad as the pair described, it seems most of the leg holes are larger than those of a previous purchase from a few years back.

I bought these in 2019 and Immediately became the best brief underwear I have ever tried. Now that I purchased these ones I am really disappointed, the only thing in common is the brand logo, fabric, styling and sizing completely wrong.

I will never wear this as it gave me pain in the area. I hope they will return the old style back to stock.

I have bought this brand for over a decade with no issues. However, the last pack I bought a few months ago in November 2021 is not the same quality. The elastic waistband is flimsier and it has a tendency to scrunch up and roll over on itself instead of laying firm and flat against my waist.

The very first day with the very first pair straight out of the package the material separated at the waistband leaving a big whole. After wearing each pair just once, then washed, folded and put away on the second round of wearing each pair another pair also tore away at the waistband leaving a big hole.

Normally we purchase in store but we purchased this particular package online thinking that might be why they are inferior to the store bought from years past but we compared these to another new pair in store and the store package was also the same flimsy thin material and poorly sewn together at the waistband.

The underwear are clearly not the same quality from the previous decade of purchases. Perhaps DXL is using another manufacture? These were made in India and they are very cheap, thin and flimsy. Total garbage and waste of money.

I’ve bought these for years and they were great. Now they have changed. The sizing isn’t the same. Buy a size bigger if you have bought these in the past. They put some sort of non flexible stitching in the legs and waist now so they ripped instead of stretching.

The material is thinner too so the rips happen fast. The old ones stretched a ton which made them super comfortable. Older was way better quality and fit.

Less than 10 wears each pair and 2/3 pair have started splitting at the elastic band seam so they already look like cheap trash. I know it’s difficult to find good quality and comfort when you’re a larger guy.

Don’t waste your money here they are not interested in providing quality. Maybe they started that way but they no longer are, save your money and go shop somewhere else. Most of the DXL products I have tried over the years are really not worth the money they overcharge.

I received this free package of large men’s underwear, and I was interested in how these would work since he is hard to find things in his size. I will start with the packaging. I liked (and my husband even noticed!!) that there was an opening in the package that allowed you to touch and feel the fabric and it’s softness.

I think it is important to have packaging that allows you to be able to interact and feel what is inside. Also, a zip top is always handy. As much as I hate it when others open a package to examine the product, at least with a zip top, the package isn’t destroyed in the process.

My husband hates tags, so that is another plus! I dislike it when he does cut off a tag because he ends up mangling or ruining an item. They are well made, from the durable fabric, to the elastic band and the stitching.

I could tell better over time how they would hold up since I’ve only had these a few weeks, but based on the time that we’ve had I know these are going to stand up to rougher wear. (I am always a little jealous of how men’s underwear are made compared to women’s underwear, which the fabric is so much thinner, it’s cut smaller and the elastic always starts to ravel.

) I think the color selection that I received is a nice variety. Dark colors always work so much better. White underwear is next to impossible to keep nice and tidy, and a big no-no around our house (Well water has a tendency to discolor laundry.

) Overall, he finds them very comfortable, they wash up nicely and I think they will last a long time.

My husband is a bigger guy. He’s 6 ft 3 inches and weighs approximately 325. It’s tough to find underwear that fits. These underwear fit perfect in all the places! The waistband is soft and comfortable, it does not pinch or squeeze too tight.

The fabric of the underwear is soft, comfy, and breathable for these hot, humid days. My husband bragged about these underwear keeping him from sweating like all the others he has. The legs are the perfect length and keep his thighs from chafing.

I’ve already ordered 2 more packages!.

I really like many styles of underwear- from string bikinis to longer boxer briefs like these- and these are really a well-designed pair of boxer briefs. I was afraid that the set of two would mean that these were simpler than Jockey’s one-off underwear, but they are every bit as great.

The 20% spandex gives them a lot of stretch while still being supportive all day, and they are just long enough that the legs don’t ride up. A must for me. The pouch is just the right size and forward support, and the generous amount of mesh is a welcome feature, as well.

Waistband is also a great addition: it is taller but not intrusive either by feel or by the way it looks. These are new every day underwear for me!.

I like the boxer briefs. the waist band is super comfortable and the boxers are great fitting. they are well made and are durable! My wife recently got me some other boxer briefs from a different maker and they just don’t compare to the quility and comfort of jockey brand.

Severe lack of quality control; 4 out of 6 pairs were defective. The bad pairs had too much fabric in the back rise (butt) that forces you to lift it up, bringing them to a mid rise instead of the packages advertised low rise.

The front rise (crotch) is too narrow and suffocating, with the fabric not connecting to the thighs. The two that fit were decent. Nice fabric, tight enough for my size, gave support, and served as advertised.

Although, I might not recommend this for guys with average or above. Purchasing these are a unrecommended gamble. Do not buy these until they update their quality control.

So I’ve tried the Goodfellow brand ever since they came out with the other briefs that would make you pop out through the fly. Then I tried the updated style which were an improvement but still not quite there.

These, however, I found them to be very comfortable and nowhere near as baggy as the updated style that was released before these. Additionally, your manhood doesn’t stick out like the first style which was very problematic.

These have that same stretchy and soft cotton as well as the logoless waistband. The rise is just right and is not baggy. Should I have to complain about something, it’s that they don’t have this style in white or other colors.

Otherwise, I truly recommend these.

these are perfect!! they are high quality, soft and flexible without going floppy and saggy thru the day, comfy, and fit like a glove. my waist is 28in. and my hips are 35in. and i got size medium. the legs are not too long, not too short (i am 5ft1in for reference) and they are just slightly tighter at the bottom of the legs, not enough to dig in, but just enough to stop them from riding up.

the waistband is wide enough not to dig in and is nice and comfy. these sit 1-2in below my bellybutton personally. these fit my body type really well and would work for anyone of any gender in my opinion.

i am now a goodfellow guy as every other pair of underwear i own has something i don’t like and these are all around amazing for me.

quality has slipped on these boxers. I don’t know when they cheapened the fabric and waistband, but I may never buy ralph lauren brand again because of this. I have worn ralph lauren boxers for over 20 years.

they used to be the best quality fabric and construction you could buy (and came in actual waist sizes instead of S,M,L). several years ago they got rid of fitted sized, but at least the fabric was still quality.

now they are just cheap and flimsy.

Product received was disappointing. The previously orders of this product have been a heavier material and i preferred them. I purchase 6 boxers and the material was much less quality that previous orders.

The material used in these shorts was significantly less that previous. This is what is known as Shrinkflation…. same item, same price 1/3 less material by weight. Not up to Ralph Lauren standards.

I’m picky about my underwear but also don’t like spending exorbitantly on basic ‘tightie whities’. Nevertheless, the quality of the ‘big box’ multi pack briefs has declined so dramatically over the years I occasionally splurge on a higher end offering when it’s part of a sale promotion or I can bundle it with a larger order to get free shipping.

VERY glad I did just that with these briefs. The quality is NOTICABLY superior right out of the packaging. Soft, substantial fabric, excellent waistband, no obvious stitching mistakes, all of it speaks to a care about quality control and materials that I greatly respect.

Having washed them a few times now they have held up beautifully and they are in heavy rotation. Again, the quality is DRAMATICALLY higher compared to ALL of the other underwear brands I own when I pull a load of whites out of the dryer.

So much so that I actually directly compared them to the others that I own by putting a few pairs on a highly accurate kitchen scale. The Lands End white cotton briefs, size medium weigh in at 2. 8 oz consistently across several different pairs.

This is around 20% to 25% heavier than all other brands, even against other ‘high end’ stores. Typical big box Hanes or FotL are around 2. 0 oz or less and the fabric is like a paper towel in comparison.

I plan on buying another dozen pairs to hedge against any future drop in quality as has sadly happened with so many other brands. My only quibble (and its a minor one) is that I wish they still offered these in actual inch sizes rather than S, M , L etc because the medium are just ever so slightly too big on me and I would love to get something SPECIFICALLY for 34″ waist.

I first bought these for my husband a few years ago because good quality “tighty whities” were becoming more and more difficult to find. Although they were not be best quality I have ever found — he has been wearing tighty-whities for over 50 years now — “beggars can’t be choosers” and they are better than most of those on the market now.

(Like everything else, it seems quality has been going steadily down in almost all clothing, imo. ) But as other people have noted, the L (36-38) size (for example) is NOT as well fitting as the size 36 he previously wore and is slightly baggy.

In short, he is not happy with them, but he said “Well, they’ll DO. ” I gave it a four star rating only because I don’t want Lands End to discontinue them altogether because they are the best I have found in recent years, BUT BRING BACK THE EXACT WAIST SIZES!! PLEASE!!.

I have ordered the previous version of these underwear many times and had many years of satisfied use. I went to reorder and they were NLA. I was referred to these. The previous version was by waist size in 2 inch increments.

A 40 waist fit me perfectly. The new sizing “XL” is for a wider range of waist sizes. While the waist and body of the garment fits well, the leg holes are enormous and make the underwear unable to perform one of it’s important jobs (holding and supporting).

Apparently, LE assumes that a 40 waist means you have tree-trunk sized thighs. I am on the hunt for another brand. PS, I had to put true to size as there was no choice for “mixed”.

Came across Players Underwear by chance. Am I glad I took a chance and ordered a couple of pairs. well made, comfortable roomy fit. if I wasn’t a disabled veteran on a fixed income I would order one in each color all at once.

But I’ll be happy to get a couple per month till I replace all my underwear with Players! Thanks again for a great product!!.

These really are mid-length briefs. The material is very comfortable, and sizing is perfect. Do insure you read the sizing chart before buying! The waist band is comfortable. First wash by itself because the color bleeds a little bit.

Fits perfectly, no ride up, no slip down. good material, will purchase more in the future. Highly recommend!.

I received these in the mail today, and just in time! It was laundry day, so tried them right away. They are really soft and comfortable like a well worn 100% cotton t-shirt! The fit is comfortable as well.

I’m a bigger guy, so often the fit is smaller than normal, but these fit great, and seemed to be sized to fit for me. I hope this helps you with your decision making process. I’m sure happy with my purchase!.

Honestly the best boxers I have found. Keep coming back to TB boxers. I live the hibiscus patterns so much I’ve started getting multiples of the ones I like. Comfortable for sleep, all day wear and I even exercise in them (roomy enough for high leg movements which is great).

I find medium to fit me perfectly. my jeans are usually 33-34 waist. These are not for people who love skimpy tight boxers. they are for people who love comfortable beautiful roomy boxers in natural cotton!!!.

The sizing of their boxers for 2022 is back to normal. I’ve been ordering size L cotton woven boxers from TB for years and everything was fine until last year when the L was tight and the XL was huge.

I ordered their first set of new boxers this year and they are back to their usual, comfortable and familiar fit. Love them. Just not the 9 or so pairs I ordered last year. At $28 each that’s huge.

Bought 4 in different designs. All look nice except not crazy about the blue with white one. But that is not the problem. I have gained weight and these 3x are tight. Compared to some older 2x and they are the same size.

Wish TB could be more consistent with sizing. Still a big fan.

These are very soft and comfy, with a good fit and a heavier and more heavenly feel than the competition. One star off because a) they’re a wee bit pricey and b) the ball hammock is merely decorative, as far as I can tell.

A functional hammock would hang front to back, but of course who needs a perineal hammock (good band name, though. ) As it is, it’s akin to a hammock hanging on a wall, and who can get in one of those? And if I could get in, I’d fall out anyway because my nuts are too big for it.

I’ll prolly still buy another pair or two, though.

Very satisfied customer here. White briefs are the only underwear I buy and Stafford has long been my go to brand however I’m now a Munsingwear man too. Some reviews here mention they didn’t like the way these fit but I just don’t share that experience.

I like these full rise briefs exactly how they are. The waistband isn’t too tight, don’t roll over, the material is light soft comfortable and leg holes are ample just the way I want. I’m a fit man on the slender side with a 35 waist so I ordered size 36 because I want ample fit.

Going a size down may be the option for those who didn’t like the way these fit. No changes are necessary for me but if any changes are made I certainly hope nothing is changed in the length of full coverage and fit of the full rise version.

I like full rise white briefs better than mid rise, I think full rise is more manly and comfortable. The horizontal pouch is the best idea ever. I wear these daily for work, workouts and sleeping. Full rise white briefs aren’t just pop’s underwear anymore many men today are switching from boxers and boxer briefs and choosing practical styles of yesterday.

I purchased this underwear earlier this year for both the micro modal comfort and the bullpen. The micro modal is incredibly soft and I hardly notice the underwear. The bullpen really keeps everything in place and for someone who works 12 hour shifts and walks around a lot during, it really does work well.

The reason this has two stars though, is because I already have holes in my underwear and the bands are already starting to bacon and crimple up. I had these for less than a year, and they’re already falling apart.

I follow the care instructions for all of my clothes since I wear a lot of performance material that requires certain wash cycles and hang drying, so I pay attention to what’s needed to wash everything well, and that includes my underwear.

It’s really frustrating paying so much for this and it falling apart less than a year after purchase. If these were a third of the price, I’d say it’s worth it, but being as I can buy a 3 pack of [Big Underwear Brand Name] with their version of the bullpen and also made from comparably soft Tencel for the same price as 1 pair of these, it’s hard to justify the cost, especially when these fall apart so quickly.

These need to last longer or be cheaper. I will not be purchasing these again.

Only major issue is the pouch is still not completely closed. The hole at the bottom allows the bits to fall through. Especially when sitting. The whole point is to keep them separate, but fails to do that.

If they just sew up the bottom of the pouch id buy several. Fabric is soft and comfortable. Leg hems are a little too tight but not a deal breaker. Just gotta have no hole at the bottom of the pouch.

I was looking for an alternative to Cariloha bamboo underwear, which I love. I find their products are very comfortable but too expensive and don’t last that long. I came across a review of various underwear brands and found Allcitizens and figured I would try them.

I’ve only worn them a couple of times, but I really like the fit and am ready to go all in and purchase more. We will see how long they hold up, but for now, I’m sold.

I enjoyed these more than I thought I would. I’ve been super cheap with essentials for so long that it’s been normal to live with B grade stuff. I’m not going back to Marshall’s. All Citizens converted me.

The paradise pocket is a little weird. I can take it or leave it but I’m gonna give it more time. Everything else is 100%.
