20 Best Undershirts For Dress Shirts (2023 Updated)

The first time I tried my grey sweat proof undershirt from Ejis was at the two and a half hour Easter vigil mass I went too. Normally when I wear a suit coat, I DRIIPPP sweat through my under-arms and back.

But not THIS time. I was COMPLETELY DRY. Never happened before and was so pleased. I really wish I had gotten this shirt LONG ago. Before you buy an undershirt from Ejis, don’t buy a smaller size then a t shirt you usually wear, just buy the same size of shirt you always wear.

It will still fit perfectly. My mistake was buying a smaller size and was too tight, but the next size fit perfectly. Also, Julie from customer service was REALLY helpful. She was really kind with helping me exchange my first small shirt for a bigger size.

She was also VERY polite! She deserve a raise! :).

Its terrible so this last 4 or 5 shirts i orderd i still didn’t open coz I think to return them and get the refund for this order and for order I made like maybe 2 month’s ago when I order 3 shirts. I’ve been with you guys for a long time before you even had deep V neck shirts.

So my first order was regular V neck and then you made deep V neck so my first orders was like maybe 3 years ago. And belive me I’m still using those shirts. They got ripped then have some holes but its undershirt so I still use them 3 years after and on a DAILY BASIS.

Now the new shirts are joke. Belive me after washing them for maybe 3 times they all started losing thread where sawed in. All of them and all over the shirt. So now they are all literally falling apart.

Brand new shirts. After 3 washing. So I don’t know if I got the wrong batch or what but this is ridiculous. Now I can send you the pictures so you can see it for yourself. I’d like to continue to use your products but the quality is gone.

I have old shirts washed million times 3 years old wearing them everyday to work and still are ok. New one 3 washing and gone. So please tell me what I can do. If this is ” anomaly ” then I’d like for you to send me a replacement but if this is regular thing I will ask for refund and I will send you back last 4 or 5 shirts I order a week ago.

The V-neck Bella Canvas 3005 is a wonderful shirt! It has a more modern fit, like most Bella+Canvas shirts. The unisex works great for ladies because of the more slender look. I would not recommend this for larger (3XL and up) customers unless they are more slim-ish.

With the V-neck it gives it more of a feminine look for ladies. The slub is a great look, too. Hasn’t shrunk and is true to size for unisex, slim modern fit. Takes HTV well. Pictured is asphalt slub.

FOTL does a poor job of differentiating short sleeve styles. The arms on this style are very short and the material a bit thin. They seem better suited to undershirts than work shirts. I used to buy my FOTL shirts at Wal-mart until they stopped selling them.

Those were thicker with longer sleeves but without model numbers or names, it seems impossible to find the same ones online. The price for the six pack with bogo was good, however I’m unsure if I’ll be able to wear them for work as intended.

I love these shirts – they fit well, and don’t appear to shrink much. My only complaint is I was supposed to get four different colors – one dark blue, one medium blue, one dark grey, and one medium/light grey.

I did NOT get the medium/light grey one; instead, I got TWO dark greys. That is very disappointing as the dark grey is my LEAST favorite color, and I really wanted the light/medium grey one! Oh, well – other than that, I’m very happy.

I just purchased and received the Ultimate brand undershirts, only to be ultimately disappointed. The thickness of the shirts are paper thin and actually see through. In fact, the 5 year old shirts I’m replacing are thicker than these new ones.

As for the sizing, they run big and they hang on you like a stretched out bag. I have bought other Hanes products in the past and have been pleased with the purchase. However, after this experience I’ll be switching to Calvin Klein.

They make a superior product.

Re-ordered these shirts after several years, and the fit and quality is completely different. Fit is much baggier, and the neckband is warped. It is a shame that one can’t count on consistency of sizing and quality with globalized brands anymore.

Will not order again, owing to uncertainty about what I might be getting. After wearing Hanes for many years I should say.

I am female and measure 42-34-39. I wear a Small which gives me a trim but not tight fit. I bought these to replace my old Men’s “Comfort Soft” undershirts. Those were 100% cotton and thick enough to wear out of the house as a tee.

These fit the same, but they are 4%Modal/ 35%cotton/ 25%polyester, and they are thin and sheer. I could never! wear these out of the house. I would not even do gardening in it. A true undershirt. I will try to layer them to see if I can get more use out of them.

In a word, fantastic. I’ve been on a quest to find the next great undershirt even since UnderArmour discontinued their one and only great product, their undershirt from 5 years ago. I’ve finally found it.

The RBX undershirt is a great fabric, lightweight and wears perfectly. A great value at twice the price. Great job, RBX. Just keeping making it and don’t change a single thing.

I bought both the white and black as pictured. Shirts are great for undershirts, working out, or even just wearing to bed and relaxing. The feel and comfort gets an A+. The collar gets a C and needs work in quality control.

It has a stretched out, draggy feel to it – hem needs pulled in for a better fit.

The shirts are very soft and easy on my skin. They are 100% cotton and feel very comfortable. I feel at ease wearing them and they aren’t tight under my arms. No discoloration after washing them and don’t come out that much wrinkled.

They don’t shrink either after drying. I liked the the fact that the shirts were rolled up and tucked nicely. The product details were easy to read and explained the right amount of detail. The shirts themselves came with most comfort and the texture was soft.

I appreciate a soft shirt whether it be for work or going out. They are a perfect fit and they have a fresh feeling.

I’m not sure what I was expecting with these t-shirts but I was blown away by the quality and the fit of them. I think that I was just hoping for a nice undershirt or an every day shirt to wear around the house but I’ve made them a main piece of my outfit.

I am a Large and I’m about 6’1 and 185 and they fit me probably better than any other t-shirt in my closet. The length of the shirt, the length of the sleeves, width of the material from shoulder to shoulder is perfect it almost feels fitted.

And it’s extremely soft. I would highly recommend these shirts.

Tommy continues to put out a high class better then the rest product. Their shirts are thicker and fit better than the competition and I don’t care what anyone says. It’s true. Their pants hold their color and last longer.

They are just a step ahead of the competition and it shows. These standard undershirts have more material and are thicker than all of the competitors I have bought from in the last year.

Bought 4 crew (2 white, tone, grey) and 3 vneck (white, grey and tone) all in medium tailored cut. One son is 6ft. 148 lbs, very slim build, he loved the tailored fit (hard to find shirts that are fitted for him) feel and length.

Worn one each day since they have arrived, and he mentions how nice they feel and fit each day (it’s hard to find shirts/pants that are fitted/length to his slim build). The other son is 5’10” about the same weight and slim build.

He too loves the fit and feel of the shirts (he wears the vneck). Both would like more shirts in the grey/black color because they are interested in just wearing them as tshirts. The tone/white ones for sure would work well under white or light colored dress shirts.

Will be purchasing more.

Actually 4. 9 Stars!After ribbedtee. com stopped selling their evotencil undershirt, I was freaked out. This is the best replacement I’ve found so far, and it’s even less expensive! I really like the shirt, but it’s still not the Holy Grail, so I’m not giving it 5 stars.

Very comfortable but V neck opening is very big. Not at all a deal breaker since the shirt quality is so nice.

i got a black Alfani t-shirt, and really love it. Its comfortable, and feels like a very expensive shirt, even when i payed just a few dollars for it. I went online looking for more of the same , only could find a lite-blue color, also purchased it, i will keep an eye for more, they are inexpensive, look very good and are super comfortable.

Love the Alfani range but the sizes seem variable. Some 2xl fit me fine (50 chest), but some 3xl are a little tight, like this particular top. Looks like I will have to forgo the pies.

This shirt fits me well. It is tighter around with shorter sleeves to show off your physique. The stretchiness helps you get it off without any trouble.

Best men’s v-neck t-shirt my husband has ever owned. Lightweight, soft and the V neck is cut just deep enough that the T-shirt does not show when he wears his work pollos or casual button up dress shirts.

They wash up nicely too. Plus, we live in the most hot and humid state in the US and they are just thin enough that it doesn’t add extra heavy material where you’d sweat more. QUALITY v-neck hands down! Where have you been hiding? If I had one complaint it would be that they are a little pricey.

For me, this is the perfect undershirt: not bulky at all, so it plays well with whatever I wear over it, super soft to the touch, and a tight enough collar that doesn’t sag. I purchased the Medium size, since that’s what I’ve bought in other brands.

I exchanged it for a small and super happy I did. I’ve never worn a small anything. So what’s the difference between an undershirt and a Tshirt? In my book, the undershirt fits more snugly to make way for what’s over it – and that’s probably why the small is best for me.

If you’re looking for a Tshirt rather than an undershirt, I suggest going for your usual Tshirt size. Next up: how will it launder? We’ll see.

These t-shirts are comfortable, durable, and high quality. I used to buy gap t shirts and shop the sales so I never owned a high quality t shirt before. Then I started to do some traveling and needed new lightweight shirts.

These are perfect. They run a little small but after exchanging a size up, it was a perfect fit. The website made it very easy to exchange for the new size. These are also light, so my bags won’t be as heavy and they’ll dry faster than cotton when I have to hang dry internationally.

I do like more cotton and less stretch material in my shirts but thought it was a good quality product at a good price.

I’ve been a loyal Jockey customer for at least 25 years. Material quality, fit, and finish were always a step above anyone else’s products. I made this purchase despite having a disappointing experience with the fit on a set of V-neck tees a couple of years ago.

I didn’t complain then. Just assumed it was a one off and moved on. When I washed the shirts from this purchase, they shrunk unevenly, the hem on the sleeves rolled, and the fit was poor and twisted.

Also the material weight was light. They felt like a cheap brand.

Been wearing Jockey underwear for years, and so quite familiar with Jockey’s high quality. Out of the 6 crew neck white t-shirts I took out from the 12 purchased this time, 2 of them had sleeve stitching blemishes.

The sleeve material fold back where not lined up and the stitch line were also not straight. The sleeves became crinkled/twisted after the first wash. Quite unsightly. Of the years I wore Jockey, never seen this before.

Unexpected & sorry to say, the quality is sadly compromised. Hope I will not experience this from the remaining shirts.

Reason Poor quality or construction Comment Dear Jockey, these are not the t-shirts that I know and love from years ago. The fit is like a dress and cannot be worn untucked as is shown in the pictures.

I am a tall person and these shirts are designed extremely long. The quality of the cotton is much more rough and shear than the jockey shirts that I bought years ago. I have unfortuneatly worn and washed these items already, I had no choice or alternative but I expected much better and I am disappointed.

Perhaps the supima shirts are what I should have purchased but my hopes are not high.

I’m 5’6” athletic build ( broad shoulder and chest smaller waist 19”/46”/36” ) usually wear between large and medium undershirts. Very comfortable, little to no visible lines. The fit in your regular size is snug compared to an average cotton undershirt but once its on its like a second skin.

And you forget your wearing an undershirt and when paired with the performance shirts. match made in heaven. Great shirts good price, better if you buy them in bulk. The only thing I would say is I wish they made them in a black.

Love these undershirts. I have trouble finding things that fit the way I like. Large is too big and medium is too small. The large size fits me perfectly. Just snug in all the right places and the sleeves are snug as well.

Given the material and stretch, they feel great too. They are longer than average, so be aware of that. For an undershirt that is tucked 90% of the time, that’s what you want anyway. For reference, I’m 5’11” and about 175 lbs.

The performance undershirt exceeded all expectations. It provides a smooth look underdress shirts but also provides a layer of warmth under other tops. Also I love just lounging around the house in mine.

It was not what I expected. It was better. I was afraid the 2XL would be too small but it was fine. I’m accustomed to loose fitting undershirts. These are stretchy snug without being tight. I’ve a long trunk and these are the perfect length.

Since these are new, they are pristine white. I’m interested in seeing if they stay the nice white or yellow over time like every other white undershirt I ve ever owned.

I literally never leave reviews, I’ve been buying cloths off the internet for years now and I can honestly say that I’ve found the last stop. It started with this undershirt. $24 investment to “try it out” I now own 8 of these and wear on everyday of the week.

Recently attended an outdoor wedding in 95 plus degrees with no shade what so ever. The Performance Undershirt performed! In never showed through my white dress shirt, and the wicked away the perspiration.

Even though I was constanly wiping away the sweat from my face and brow, I felt cool wearing the undershirt.

I bought the shirt a size up, thinking that I would be able to wear it as a T-shirt. It’s still extremely pornfitting. It’s going to be a great shirt as an undershirt to any sweater. If you’re looking at buying it as a T-shirt, I would size up two sizes.

I normally buy small shirts and roe. All seem to fit just fine. Bought a medium in this, way too small.

These things are insanely comfortable, but they certainly are snug.

This is such a lovely undershirt and clearly deserves care in the maintenance of it, unlike the cheapie cotton v-necks this dear man has worn lifelong. So, I am attempting to train him to simply hang it up after sniff-testing it for another wearing.

I will wash gently-and hang to dry-way less than I did with the cheapies. Isn’t that the way we all need to re-design our lives? I will be ordering more–just to elevate the simplest of pleasures for the one I love.

This shirt is super comfortable and very soft. You can’t even tell that it’s on when wearing a polo. This is the first V-neck that I purchased and actually like. Other brands of v-neck have always bothered me.

Now, I also wouldn’t wear this as a T-shirt because of how low the neck is and how the material is not very thick. I would definitely recommend this for anyone that likes to wear slim fit shirts.

Amazing undershirts. These are extremely comfortable and breathable. After a long day while wearing the traditional cotton undershirt, it starts to get tight. Maybe it binds here and there, or you start sweating and it just holds onto the moisture.

These Airknit shirts bring all day comfort. They stretch, they move, and they help wick away moisture. I am super excited I found these and I brag about them every chance I get.

My other tee shirts are xtra large an fit fine. Yours is too tight in the waist, the back of the neck it’s too large and too much money for just the name. I have not returned the 3 I did not open. Why? Too lazy to drive 35 minutes to find a place to return and probably have difficulty with who ever I talk to about returning them.

I tried your tee shirts because I am always looking for a better product. But name and price is not an indicator of a better product!!.

I’m a big fan of your AIRKNITX boxer briefs and trunks, so I thought that I’d love the undershirt just as much. But I was disappointed. The fabric is comfortable/breathable and what I expected; the problem is with the fit.

More specifically, the cut/shape does not relate to my body (and typically I can wear things off the rack). Most bothersome, the neck bunches up, looks sloppy – consistent with the sleek feel and performance of a tech-undershirt.
