20 Best Under Eye Cream For Dark Circles And Puffiness (2023 Updated)

I really like this eye cream. It has a lovely texture; it feels thick and rich when you pump it out, yet somehow it doesn’t feel heavy or occlusive on the skin. I use this cream in rotation with a couple of others (usually this or something with resveratrol in the morning and a retinol-based cream at night), so I can’t say for sure that this has made a world of difference for my skin, but my under-eye area does seem to have fewer bags than it used to and the ones that are there are noticeably lighter in color.

I initially bought this cream to keep in our downstairs powder room (sometimes I get ready down there if my husband’s in the shower). I used to use Kiehl’s Dark Circle-Reducing Vitamin C Eye Serum and was going to buy a second bottle of it for downstairs, but purchased this one instead because I found it on sale and was also just curious to try it.

The Kiehl’s and Sunday Riley Vitamin C eye creams have very similar characteristics and do more or less the same thing, but I found I preferred this one because it had fewer silicones in it and felt more nourishing on my skin.

After using the Sunday Riley eye cream just a few days, I moved the Kiehl’s serum to the downstairs bathroom and put this one in the master. If you’re a fan of the Kiehl’s Vitamin C serum, I would absolutely recommend this as an alternative.

This is now my preferred eye cream, and I think if you make the switch it’ll become yours too. This eye cream isn’t perfect, but it’s fantastic if you’re looking to eliminate bags/dark circles. If I could have, I’d have rated this eye cream 4.

5/5 stars, but as that wasn’t an option, I decided to round up since I am so pleased with it. It’s a definite step up from what I was using before, and unless I happen to sample something I like better, I absolutely plan to repurchase.

For a skincare junkie like me, that’s about the highest compliment I can give.

I am 55 and while I have minimal wrinkles around the eyes, I now do have moderate dryness and puffiness, loss of elasticity (particularly under my left eye) and HORRIBLE dark circles, which drive me crazy.

I have tried dozens of eye creams and while I had some degree of help from some they all had some issues – caused makeup to separate, balled up on my skin, irritated my skin, eyes, or both, or just did absolutely nothing.

This is my new holy grail. I got a sample size of the Sunday Riley Sunday’s Superstars with my rewards points and I am sooooo glad I did. I will tell you this is not sufficiently moisturizing (for me) but it does really depuff and minimize my dark circles better than anything else.

So, I put on just a dab of this and let it set a few minutes. I then put on a dab of my go-to super moisturizing eye cream (Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Supercharged Complex) – yes during the day and yes under makeup.

I mix my color corrector into that, followed by concealer, and after several minutes setting powder. This routine finally makes me far less self-conscious about my undereyes than I have been since this problem started 18 months ago or so.

I also love that nothing separates as I am adding layers and my eyes stay looking good at least 8 hours without my make-up creasing. I also have extremely sensitive skin and eyes and this doesn’t bother either.

Very happy and will be be sure to have a back-fill at all times so that I won’t run out of it! P. S. , I got the tiny sample tube June 10 and it is is near empty on September 5 so, it lasted quite some time.

I’ve been using this product twice a day, every day for almost 4 months. Long story short? It didn’t work at all for me. I genuinely feel like Strivectin made the fine lines around my eyes more prominent and look much worse.

Waste of money and now I’m using another brand to work on what Strivectin worsened. I’ve used anti-aging products off all brands and price points. This one is proof that the price does *not* reflect it’s true value.

I wouldn’t recommend this for anyone. Their barrier strengthening oil is good. Anti-aging products? Not so much.

I got a deluxe sample of this eye cream in my Sephora gratis months ago and I’ve been in love with it! I have very dark under eye circles and my eyelids get puffy. This eye cream upon contact immediately depuffs, cools and soothes and hydrated the eye area.

I have noticed my eye area looks much brighter and smoother now as well! I had a client try this eye cream and within a couple seconds the under eye bag she applied it to deflated and looked much tighter/smooth and hydrated.

This eye cream is highly effective and I plan on getting a jar for myself and for my clients when I do makeup because it’s incredible for all ages! The ingredients are really nourishing, brightening and effective.

Most eye creams sit and do nothing at all but I feel like this eye cream is worth the money because you get instant gratification and long term benefits too!.

This powerhouse combines (Retinol SA, Glucose Complex and Hyaluronic Acid along with other lightweight serums and moisturizes). It renews the look of tired skin and diminishes the looks of fine lines, wrinkles and age spots.

I noticed a difference in my crows feet and it brightened up my under eye circles too. I don’t have age spots but it does claim to diminish them as well. I am very pleased with how this product performed on my eyes.

This serum works better than any other serum I’ve used, including ones that cost four times as much. I love this serum! I just turned 52 (how did that happen??) and I have taken very good care of my skin, but I have a few lines on my forehead and between my brows.

I also had the beginnings of some fine lines around my mouth that I wanted to deal with. I was a smoker for 29 years and quit 7 years ago. I started using Rapid Wrinkle Repair serum and within a week I could see a very slight improvement on my forehead.

I had a little dryness during the first two weeks of starting the serum, but to me that just meant it was doing something. After the first month I started to see my forehead lines really starting to fade.

It has now been about 5 months and the lines between my brows and on my forehead are only noticeable if I’m using a magnifying mirror!! The lines around my lips are mostly gone! I have large pores on my cheeks, near my nose and I was surprised that this serum seems to have made them much smaller also.

My skin in general just looks better.

Origins’ Ginzing Refreshing Eye Cream to Brighten and Depuff has a smooth, ultra soft, creamy texture. It glides on easily; you truly only need a tiny dab. My skin easily absorbed this after massaging it gently around my eye.

It felt very lightweight on my skin. This small container will last you a long time because you can get out so much product use from a minimal amount. I have the one in warm, so it has an orange tint.

It does warm up your skin and gives you a youthful, warmer tint. I personally felt the tiniest tingle around my eyes after applying, which helps to wake me up and feel more lively. However, as much it claims to resolve dark circles and depuff your eyes, I didn’t feel it quite lives up to its name for me.

I have always struggled with super dark circles under my eyes that make me look sick or dead, so I was hopeful using this. Although it does help to conceal it a bit, my dark circles were still noticeable.

It also has some simmer to it that is apparent, and a subtle nice natural scent. Overall, it’s alright if you’re not expecting amazing results. Just decent enough for some coverage.

TL;DR – This product made me have to get eye surgery lol. DO NOT BUY THIS. The product starts fine, goes on decently smooth and is slightly brightening for the under eye area. You have to make sure it’s patted fully in and blended or else there is a clear edge since it’s shimmery.

But then I started noticing I was getting little milia everywhere (I also saw this noted in another review). To clarify, my skin is not sensitive at all, so I assumed it was maybe due to something I ate or weather change, so I continued to use this product.

HUGE mistake. The milia continued and I actually ended up getting a chalazion (think a backed up duct in your eyelid) and stopped using all products around my eyes, and had to see the eye doc. He asked if I had been using anything new lately and lo and behold this item was the only new thing that hadn’t been in rotation for years.

The chalazion didn’t go down on its own as it was too irritated and I had to end up getting surgery to have it removed. This product was the only change in my routine and I would seriously recommend not buying it.

As a college student, I spend lots of nights up doing work and start my day pretty early, so you could only imagine the bags I have under my eyes and how dark they are. After I started using this, I began to notice how bright and supple under my eyes would look.

Although I would still feel really tired and dead inside, you could not tell that I didn’t get enough sleep the night before. I also found it interesting that there is a slight sparkle in this cream, so it really illuminates that area of my eyes.

This is one of my first times using eye cream, so I did not really know what to expect from it but my experience was very pleasant. The cream is pretty light so it is good for layering with moisturizer and sunscreen during the morning without feeling weighed down.

Also, I was very surprised by how small the container was, but I noticed very early on that a little of this goes a long way. I have been using this product every morning for about one month now and I have barely put a dent in it.

I would recommend this product to anyone.

In terms of skincare, when it comes to eye creams, I tend to be a bit more particular and specific about what I’m looking for and what I like to use for my under eyes. I was always taught that when it comes to your under eyes, to be as gentle and take extra care.

I started using eye creams here and there when I was in my 20s and only recently started using them routinely and for targeted reasons. For me, my biggest concern when it comes to my under eyes is the dark circles.

I’m no stranger to Estée Lauder skincare and was able to sample their night cream some time ago. I wasn’t crazy about the cream and found it to be a bit too “mature” for me personally so I was curious to see if this repair eye cream would leave me with a similar impression… boy was I wrong! I loved this eye cream that I got to try complimentary for my review.

My biggest concern was that this eye cream would be heavily scented. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that this eye cream barely had a scent(I get bad headaches and prefer to steer clear of products with heavy scents).

I also loved that this repair cream works its magic almost instantly but when you use it consistently, it really helps repair your under eyes! I wear a lot of makeup regularly as well as lash extensions so I’m constantly focusing on my under eye area specifically.

When I applied this cream at night the first time, it immediately brightened my under eyes! The texture and feel of the cream is light and smooth like water which I also really loved(versus a heavy/thick cream).

Overtime as I continued to use this repair eye cream nightly I noticed a good improvement in my dark circles brightening. I also looked more rested and awake and looked more “youtful”. Honestly, I’m so glad I got to sample this repair eye cream! I love it and would definitely recommend it, I have no complaints and think it works great for all skin types and.

I received a sample size for free from Influenster in exchange for this review. This eye super charged gel crème feels really nice going on. It is a bit thick but doesn’t feel too sticky when applied under the eye area.

I used it only in the PM and in the morning the area under my eyes would feel a bit tighter and my little eye wrinkles from squinting were less prominent. It has a strong scent like oranges in the tub, but not on the skin.

This eye cream does not have a long shelf life after opening only 6 months, and the price is expensive for the quantity. A little does go a long way, but I don’t think I could commit to ever buying the full size for the price.

If your concern is wrinkles though this may be worth it. I think with consistent use you could definitely see a difference. The packaging is recyclable as well as the packaging of the full size sold here which is nice.

It definitely brightened my dark circles, but it wasn’t an extremely dramatic difference. I recently had a very bad reaction to an eye cream with retinol in it and so I was nervous to try any other eye product, but this one gave me no irritation at all and kept my under eye area hydrated enough.

I don’t know if this would work really well under concealer though since it is working on those lines and wrinkles I would recommend only using it at night as a more intense eye treatment personally.

Overall if you can snag a sample size and try it for yourself before buying the full size I’d recommend it!.

I tested the Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Supercharged Complex against my regular eye skin care routine (The Ordinary Caffeine Solution and the Verso Super Eye Serum). I used the entire 3mL sample over two weeks.

The eye I used the Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Supercharged Complex on was visibly brighter and my seemingly permanent dark circles were much less noticeable. The skin in the under-eye area also felt well moisturized.

I also tend to have issues with puffiness. As far as I could tell, the Estee Lauder and The Ordinary were both similar at minimizin under-eye puffiness. The Estee Lauder was noticeably worse at minimizing the appearance of my crow’s feet.

The Verso Super Eye Serum does an exceptional job reducing the appearance of fine lines around my eyes. If you are concerned about fine lines around your eyes, I would not recommend the Estee Lauder.

However, as an overall general use eye skin care product, the Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Supercharged Complex performed well at minimizing dark circles, brightening, and depuffing. For now, as I am most concerned about my fine lines, I don’t plan on changing my routine.

However, I have to say that as a brightening product, the Advanced Night Repair lived up to its claims.

The functionality is horrible and completely useless. You would think for such an expensive product they would figure out how to dispense the actual product, but to no avail. In other confusion I decide to search the internet and found that I’m not alone.

This seems to be an ongoing complaint with this product. The only real suggestion I’ve heard is that you need to warm up v solution for it to dispense properly. Try that and didn’t work either. Complete garbage, and returned it.

One morning, sans contacts, I confused my illuminating eye cream for my holy hydration sunscreen and used it on my entire face. I worried for a sec I might break out, but I thought, hey, it’s for undereyes, it’s probably gentle.

Checked the ingredients, nothing weird, so I left it and went about my routine as usual. I am serious when I tell y’all, my skin was so soft and smooth, like I couldn’t stop touching it. So I tried it at night before my cerave, after my peptaronic and buffet w copper (I’m 39 so I use a couple things but nothing crazy).

Honey. My skin is gorgeous, like unbelievable. I’m not saying this has reversed years, but a couple lines, especially my smile lines, have almost completely faded, and my face isn’t bumpy or patchy or rough in spots anymore.

It is SILKY you guys. I haven’t been able to say that since I was probably 12 years old. I don’t want to call this my holy grail, but it might be, especially for the price.

The eye cream feels so soothing! You only need a couple of dabs to cover your eye area. If you have an under-eye roller (especially the metal kind) they pair well together. The cooling and massaging of the roller with this cream is relaxing.

I’ve mostly tried it during the fall/winter in Minnesota, it’s very dry here. One star taken off for the cap. as others have noted, the cap breaks easily. I’m not sure if it was from its own pressure upon twisting it closed, if it was from dropping it a couple of times, or both.

I put it in a small jar from a sample of a face mask from a different brand and that’s been working just fine. e. l. f. needs to look into fixing the issues with the lid.

I am a big fan of eye cream and this one is my favorite for several reasons: 1. It is very light. You only need a small amount to moisturize and it lasts a long time. 2. Price. It is one of the best eye creams for the price point.

3. You can wear your eye make up over it with no problem. Even if you are in a rush give it about 20 -30 sec it dries and you can your eye shadow and eyeliner goes on smoothly. 4. No scent. If you are sensitive to scents this is perfect for you.

5. Goes on smoothly. It is not thick or clumpy goes on smoothly. 6. Does not burn if it gets in your eyes. I work out a lot and I have never had this eye cream burn my eyes like some. 7. Moisturizing.

It is moisturizing without being oily or greasy. It settles in the skin very nicely.

Look, I’m in grad school so I know dark circles. I’ve never actually used an eye cream before, but a friend suggested I get one because I was lookin’ ROUGH. This eye cream is incredible! I use it every few nights (or every night when I’m really pushing it) and my eyes are healthy and hydrated in the morning! The circles under my eyes are seriously gone, or at least extremely lightened.

I never even write reviews but I’m honestly so happy with this product!! I will buy again when it’s all gone (though it seems like this one jar is going to last me a while–a little goes a long way). Fab amazing.

I was really excited to try this I cream, especially after seeing so many glowing reviews. I was really hoping to have found an economically-priced hidden gem. However, this cream did not address my eye area concerns.

I don’t really have dark circles, puffs, or bags. I am 36 and have oily skin. I was really looking for moderate hydration with an emphasis on the fine lines around my eyes. I will admit that this cream is extremely hydrating, and perhaps softened the look of the lines a tiny bit due to that hydration.

But that was only when I was not wearing make up. I found that the screen was too heavy for me to wear underneath I make up, and that anything that I put around my eyes would inevitably settle into the creases under them.

To be clear, I wear waterproof mascara, waterproof eyeliner, and really good eyeshadow primer. I set everything with setting powder. However, within a few hours, I would have substantial black blobs under my eyes whenever I wore this eye cream under my eye make up.

This may work really well for other people, but it just wasn’t for me.

I have tried numerous eye creams over the years and this one is my favorite. It is super light and easy to apply and it never interferes with any makeup I apply under my eyes or on my lids. It’s a cooperative product.

It definitely brightens my eyes, honestly tough to tell if it’s impacting wrinkles/crows feet/dark circles. I do think it’s helped my dark circles. I bought the full size for home and I love the cute little travel tube they sell.

It’s also odorless. Very nice product!.

First of all, thank you @drbrandt @trustbeautycrew for allowing me to test Needles No More, No More Baggage Eye De-puffing Gel! Let’s start with the packaging! The tube is visually appealing and easy to squeeze in order to dispense the desired amount, but I feel like I’ll end up with a lot of wasted product left inside once it gets closer to being empty.

I don’t think I’ll be able to squeeze it all out, instead I’ll probably end up cutting the tube open to get to the remaining product left on the inside walls of it. Now, for the product itself. The texture is very pleasant when I only apply one layer.

If I apply more than one layer, I experience pilling, no matter how little I use, even after letting it dry all the way per the usage instructions. The peach tint does help to neutralize the appearance of dark circles in addition to the ingredients working in the background, but I need to wear makeup over this product because it’s noticeable when I wear it alone.

It’s can be difficult to warm between your fingers before application without creating a mess, especially because I only use one finger to dab it on (applying it the same way I do with eye cream). I’d recommend keeping the tube in your pocket so your body heat starts warming it while you are getting ready and doing the other steps of your skincare routine leading up to applying No More Baggage.

Then when you’re ready to apply the product, it’s already been warmed up a bit. I’d still recommend further warming it with your fingers though, as the usage instructions say to do. FINAL THOUGHTS: No More Baggage immediately starts to improve the appearance of dark circles under my eyes but I don’t feel like I’m getting any reduction in under eye bags.

This may be because I haven’t been using it long enough yet. This would not deter me from using the product in the future, but it’s worth mentioning: I noticed a stinging/burning sensation at times, and I don’t have sensitive skin, so it may not be suitable for everyone.

I was not expecting this eye gel to be a deep peach, nearly orange, color! But the color doesn’t show up once it’s been applied, except that it seems to have some color-correcting effect on the darkness under my eyes.

The gel comes out of the tube through a tiny nozzle, and I have noticed that most mornings when I go to use it, there is a thickened and somewhat dry plug that comes out first with smoother product behind that.

I just make sure to have a washcloth or some tissue to catch that dry-ish bit in – the first time I used the tube the plug popped out with force, popped off my finger and right onto the carpet. The gel has almost no scent, and what scent it has is close to vanilla extract or cupcakes.

I can definitely feel this product after applying it, but in a good way. It actually feels like it’s doing something to that tender skin all around the eyes, a gentle tautness. It also mattifies the area without making it feel dried out, which is really nice too.

The packaging advises that this product be used after an eye moisturizer has been applied and absorbed, and to allow the products to dry fully before applying more, and I absolutely agree with that. This eye de-puffing gel isn’t a stand-in or replacement for the eye cream portion of your skincare routine.

This product is more a part of your makeup routine. I received this complimentary product in exchange for trying it out myself and writing up a review about my experience.

Looking at some of the other reviews, I think some people may have the wrong idea about what this product is. It is NOT a cream to be used regularly to decrease undereye bags over time, it is an instant fix product that is used to tighten the undereye area for several hours when you want it to.

I have used this product for years and it does what it’s supposed to. That being said, it takes practice to apply it properly. You squeeze out a small amount on your fingertip, rub it between your fingers a couple times and then apply to the undereye area.

I use both my index fingers for application. I have found that it’s easier to apply when it’s a fresh tube as over time it gets a little thicker and drier. I add just a tad of water to loosen it and it slides over the undereye much easier.

You also need to keep your face and mouth still for a few minutes after applying. I don’t use makeup on the undereye area because if you touch the area after applying, it messes up. I have very large undereye bags and this makes me look years younger.

I love this product but I did take one star off because it can be difficult to apply. Otherwise, it’s a great product that can do wonders for your looks when used properly.

I was lamenting to my family doctor about how wrinkly my eyes had gotten since turning 55. I also had terrible dark circles. Which were so bad that if I didn’t wear mega corrector makeup…people would sometimes ask if I had hurt my eyes somehow or been punched…yikes.

She recommended this product and after using one jar of this, I can honestly say there was a very noticeable improvement. I was pleasantly surprised that a skincare product could be so effective. I thought I would have to do something invasive to get these results.

I continue to use it and am very happy. It is definitely worth the price. Now I am considering trying their corrective products for the age spots on my face. Btw I am now about to turn 60 and I have very few wrinkles around my eyes.

So by the time I’d used this product for a little over a week, I was pretty impressed. Maybe there’s a period of adjustment for your skin at first, because it almost made my under eye area look worse the first few times I applied the product.

I started off really excited to try this because I generally love Kiehl’s other products (especially the brushless shaving cream, which is the best shaving cream I’ve used over the last 30 years of shaving).

The initial feeling is the cool cream begins to gradually warm after smoothed into the skin… this was cool, and made my brain yell “this stuff has to be working!”. The cream is thick and it only takes a small dot per side to apply to the entire under eye area.

So, several days go by, and as I was getting ready for work one morning and putting on the eye cream, I looked in the mirror and my eyes looked really sunken in underneath and a little bruised. So, trusting in the brand, I thought, I’ll go ahead and keep using it for a week because maybe it’s just an adjustment period.

So I continued to use daily, and slowly but gradually, the skin under my eyes began to get firmer and gained the look of healthy, glowing and moisturized skin. So it really did work well. Something I noticed as well was that the results looked very natural and not like I had some eye treatment on, over tightening and stretch the area under my eye.

I’ve noticed with a lot of under eye treatments, that as the day goes on underneath your eyes eventually begins to regress back to what they looked like that same day, in the morning, before you put on the cream.

Kiehl’s eye serum didn’t really wear off and would last until I woke up the next morning, but even then, it was only a mild lessening of the effects. I also love the fact that I’ve now been using this daily for prob a little more than 30 days, and I still have probably half the container full of product.

Great value, great results, and definitely a great company/brand.

After using this eye serum for close to two months I can say I am thoroughly impressed. I’ve used multitudes of many other eye creams and serums and have never had the level of positive effects I’ve received from using this serum.

There are a few benefits that I noticed after a week or so of use: a slightly brighter and more radiant under eye. But it was the effects I noticed after about two months that sealed the deal. It was almost shocking when I looked in the mirror one day and realized how much my eyes had changed.

They went from some crows feet, some fine lines, and dark circles to almost all of my fine lines had diminished and my eyes looked whiter and brighter all around. My eyes looked similar to how they did when I was in college! It was shocking and a really amazing result, but it didn’t happen overnight.

This is the kind of product that you need to have patience with and be consistent with for it to work appropriately. I wouldn’t expect overnight results. But if you have the patience you will be very happy with the result.

This has become my holy grail and I will be repurchasing it time and again when it runs out.
