20 Best Umbrella Stand For Wind (2023 Updated)

Great idea as we have a wide variety of umbrellas and you can see them all. The little ones hang on the back hooks and the tall ones stand up nicely with a back rod support. Easy to assemble. Unfortunately, the rod arrived with one side not attached so we will need to glue or sauder it.

Everything we seem to ou rder these days comes with defects so it was no surorise. Hopefully, the company will inspect before sending out in the future. Great product- just keep your reputation by sending items that are not broke!.

The umbrella stand is not only simplistic, chic, and streamlined, but it is high quality and sturdy. Hang your soaking wet umbrella to dry, lie your hat down to dry, and put your shoes near. This more than an ugly umbrella stand, this is a chic organizer for outdoor wear, I also thought putting it in my office so the wet umbrella won’t leak all over the floor.

Assembly-For someone who has no clue what they’re doing, I didn’t find the assembly all that easy. The umbrella only goes into one stage and that’s all the way up no in between, I can’t tilt it, I can’t set it any other way except for all the way up.

Also, the 2 knobs that screw into the pole, the top one doesn’t even align correctly. So I do not have one of the screw knobs in the pole. Could this be why I can’t tilt or do anything else with the umbrella? If anyone can explain it to me, please do! I would appreciate it!.

First of all it is huge. so it takes up a fair amount of space just under or near the umbrella. Secondly even when fully filled with water a strong enough wind knocked the umbrella that was attached over the bannister of our deck and took out one of the deck lights in the process.

This happened the very next day after putting it up. The size and shape is extremely inconvenient. Tips, probably not the best if you are placing on a deck (takes up too much space leaving very little for shading).

May work better if on pavement (ex. Around a pool). Second tip maybe the weight really needs sand AND water, not one or the other.

My husband told me to make sure & get a base for the umbrella that we purchased from BCP so it wouldn’t fly away with the wind. No problem I told him because I already had this in my cart to purchase with the umbrella.

He was skeptical at first if it would even work with the umbrella since he could never find one that did! Once again my work is done!!! Seriously, this base & the umbrella I purchased from BCP are very high quality, sturdy & look good too!.

This base works perfectly with the 7. 5 solar umbrella and would also work with a regular sized round umbrella. The weight is heavy enough to hold the umbrella in place. The design is beautiful and matches my bistro set exactly.

My only issue is the tall stem to the round base is too tall for my bistro set table. So I use this stand for the umbrella and put it near my two lounge chairs. See pics if you are buying this base for your bistro set the stem will be too high to fit under your bistro table.

I’m looking for a smaller stem for that.

This umbrella stand is very nice looking and VERY sturdy. I bought one just like it earlier in the season when the stand for my other umbrella – which was made out of coated concrete just crumbled and fell apart by the second season – I had left it outside under the table but didn’t expect that it couldn’t withstand weather.

This metal stand was the only answer since they are too heavy to put away every winter.

Finally, after returning 2 bases back to 2 different stores I Finally ordered one Online that worked out. Walmart has Always done me right. I am SO pleased with this umbrella base. It is Exactly what I wanted and ALL of the parts were there.

The last 2 I had taken back to stores were missing the parts. My neighbor put it together for me as it is nice and heavy and it fit my umbrella just Perfect. Thank-You Again!.

Nice stylish umbrella stand. I somehow didn’t understand that the stand is open on 2 sides (I thought those phots were for illustrative purposes). I actually have elected to display mine with the open side facing out.

I think it looks more unique that way. Highly recommend!.

The picture Doesn’t fully represent how small this stand is. It’s so small that I could not put in a standard size golf umbrella. I had to pick up the stand and shove it in, who wants to do that every time one needs an umbrella? I threw it away as it did not meet my need.

An unfortunate waste of money.

Thr stand is to small to fit an average umbrella, let alone a few umbrellas. My employees laughed at the the comically misproportioned Adjustable Umbrella Stand. It was a waste of money. It is a badly designed, useless product.

This umbrella stand looks great! It is very attractive and fits in wIth all styles of decor as an accent piece. It was also shown on several other sites, but HOUZZ had the best price.

I wanted something interesting and not too chunky looking for our entryway, and this fits the bill. It’s wide enough that I can put my umbrella in it to dry before closing it fully and not make a mess.

My husband and I both really like the way it looks too.

I had never seen an umbrella stand like it before. The style is not only attractive and unusual, it is very functional. Takes up less room in a narrow foyer or entrance yet holds just as many umbrellas as the standard round version.

It’s quite a conversation piece as well. All my visitors notice it. Seems to be as durable as any another umbrella stand.

Nice holder. Taller then I visualized, which is great. We live in Oregon. We don’t usually use umbrellas. But we do use walking sticks and canes. It’s perfect for them. Only issue is the base isn’t heavy enough.

I will get some beach rocks or something to put in the bottom. Perfect.

Previously bought the wire waste baskets and liked the clean straight look. When this umbrella stand became available I bought it right away. Glad I did. It’s just the right height for umbrellas. Has a clean straight look.

Looks great in person. Can also be used as a waste basket. Will buy more when they become available again.

Need a much heavier bottom or taller product. Not so good for heavy canes or taller walking/hiking sticks. Will tilt over so must “arrange” canes to use holder effectively! And only have 3 canes, 1 stick.

Good price. Color choices would be nice. Probably best suited for umbrellas.

I spent a good 30 minutes (and a lot of non-Sunday School words) trying to get the panels to fit together into the plastic base, after which it took a lot of pressure (and more non-Sunday School words) to get the plastic top to fit.

While it’s an attractive enough item, for this price it should come already assembled. And I’m not sure about the long-term durability of the top and bottom plastic pieces, given the summer heat near the entry door in the garage where this is located.

I ordered this thinking it looked quite nice and modern, but when it arrived they have completely changed the design to look nothing like this. It also doesnt have any of the internal hooks for small umbrellas so it is less functional than advertised and it doesnt even have an umbrella design on the sides just , a few air hole punched out at the bottom.

Plus it had a massive scratch all the way down one panel. Returning for a cheaper more effective model.

Easy to assemble despite some of the reviews I’ve read. Stand two pieces up and interlock them, then slide the third piece on from the top. Really best with two people. Very sturdy and holds 5-6 umbrellas.

The hooks for mini umbrellas are convenient. This application was for 2 stands at both sides of church entryway. Also sturdy and nice looking without being obtrusive.

This appears to be fairly sturdy. The design on the base is good. Note to future buyers: The labeling on the outside of the box is pretty misleading. It states that the base (stand) will prevent the umbrella from tipping over.

NOT TRUE. We have southern California winds during the day, somewhere between 7 and 12 miles per hour. While the umbrella is in the non-tilting mode, the stand functions as specified. But with the umbrella tilted – a mild breeze tipped over the umbrella.

I would, if I wanted to spend more money – get a heavier base.

I moved to Portland from the East Coast. The weather here has been beautiful, and I wanted to have a nice umbrella and stand despite the end of the season for such things. I found a nice umbrella–the last one in stock locally–but no stands to be had.

However, a quick look at Walmart. com and I found the perfect stand, with a rose design, for the area (Portland often called The Rose City). The stand was easy to put together and seems substantial enough for my needs.

the design really is beautiful–nice antique finish and beautiful rose design. I was pleasantly surprised with the elegant look for the price.

This is a nice umbrella stand but it would not hold up with a stand alone umbrella and even with it centered in a table it didn’t told against a mild wind. Had to return it. But it was pretty. Just not practical.

Very easy to assemble and very sturdy. I can now by the door and the drip pan is absolutely leak proof. The best is that I can keep any size umbrella in the stand from the smallest to the largest and it looks great! Now I dont have to go hunting for an umbrella in the closet! I just love it!.

This stand came in kit form. I knew it before I bought it. They parts include screws and a small allen wrench. Trying to put it together was an excise in futility. Unless you put in the Allen wrench STRAIGHT into the screw head and applied continuous pressure, you ran the risk of stripping the screw head.

Adding insult to injury, I do not believe all of the screw holes were drilled all the way.

Beautiful holder for my umbrellas! Really easy to put together. I would have given 5 stars but the color was darker than pictured. The color in the picture matched my coffee table perfectly! But was a bit disappointed in the darker color.

All in all I am happy with how it looks!.

I just got this a few days ago and was impressed with the weight and look of this. It doesn’t look cheap and it’s slender and doesn’t take up a lot of room. I wish it was a little taller to hold our large golf umbrellas.

They cause it to tip over and I have to lean them against the wall to keep them upright.

I bought this a couple of weeks ago bc my hall closet in my new house was too small for my antique butter churn that i was using for umbrellas and walking sticks. it is heavy cast iron and fits perfect and the umbrellas fit nicely, i actually liked it so much i got a second one.

We are very pleased with this umbrella stand. We use it on our covered entryway when it is heavily raining, so guests can enter without it dripping onto the hardwoood floor while getting it into the stand.

It takes up less space than the barrel type stands. My husband was impressed by its sturdiness yet light enough to pick up and move in and out of the house. It also separates the 5 umbrellas for easy finding.

I really am happy with this purchase. It’s a lovely modern take on an umbrella stand. I also use it to keep our walking sticks handy. The bottom of the stand is a divided very heavy ceramic type of material that weights the base to keep the whole thing from tipping over.

Easily wipes clean. The upper collar is painted metal, that also has two small hooks to hang up the small foldable umbrellas. Stylishly serves it’s purpose!.

I bought the stand and an umbrella as a gift for a family member. I put it together, and set it up in their table to surprise them. Within the first 3 months they reported that it had a crack. and when they checked further, it (the base) had broken in half.

It’s heavy, and under a table. so there wasn’t much that could have happened to it. For the price, I would have expected it to be more durable. We are in a mild winter weather area. Very disappointed at the short life of this product.

I wanted to use this as a freestanding umbrella base for an aluminum 9′ umbrella to use in between chaise lounges by the pool. The sleeve the pole slides in is too short, too wide and bottom isn’t flat.

The umbrella ends up tilting so when there is any wind it’s susceptible to falling over. There is a screw in the sleeve but it isn’t enough to stabilize the pole.

Poor quality. In person it looks like an ashtray. Bought two and was so disappointed returned them both. Beware, when purchasing from this company their shipping TO you may be free. But you are responsable for the return which, with these, was close to $23 EACH.

Buyer beware.

A little expensive for a metal pot but good size and fit for purpose

Great product – love the design and the finish is great. The product was about £10 cheaper than elsewhere and delivery was quick. Good value for money and would recommend VidaXL for their home products.

Arrived earlier than expected and was well packaged with minimal waste. Product is solid, looks as pictured and is perfect for my small porch area. The water tray is very flimsy (think of the thin, clear pastic containers you buy grapes in, it’s flimsier than that) but hopefully if you’re careful emptying it it will be OK.

There is reference to a hook in some descriptions you see for this product for hanging small umbrellas, mine did not come with one, so I have used a Xmas tree hook used for hanging baubles and it does the job.

The stand is the perfect height for my larger umbrella.

I bought this to use as a stand alone shade for outside of my patio door. I purchased it with recommended base and additional weight. Looks great and provides good shade, however it blows over in even moderate wind.

The weighted base is stable but the umbrella pole is not a tight fit into the base pole. The umbrella rocks in the wind and the entire assembly, weighted base and all, blows over in gusts of 10 or so mph.

I do not expect this to hold up in heavy storms and very high winds and happily close it down in those situations, but I should not have to take it down on a bright, sunny day when a breeze kicks up.

Customer Service tells me that most people buy this for use with a table. Perhaps this should only be marketed for use in a table with a warning that it is not suitable for stand alone use.

We needed an umbrella for our back patio and decided to go for something of quality, we turned to LL Bean! Huge fans, we shop here frequently. We decided on the navy umbrella and was happy it tilted.

We have a fair-skinned child, who cannot be in the sun for very long. The base seemed substantial and heavy. I thought there is no way this will tip! Sure enough the first few days we had it, the thing tipped over! Then it happened again and again, even with little wind.

I have resorted to keeping it 1/4 of the way open and not using the tilt function. So a tiny amount of shade. The Sunbrella fabric is gorgeous and hasn’t faded in the hot summer sun. The top is also vented for wind.

A very solid umbrella. A very strong gust of wind tossed a trampoline over a 6 foot fence and into my yard where it destroyed my old umbrella. No damage to my LL Bean table. Solid construction, mechanically reliable.

Not the cheapest, but certainly the best value.
