Quick delivery of well packaged product. Instructions about preparing to install the headers were great. Complete project took about 6 hours and I was not hurried. These shorty Headers gave my 2010 6L GMC 2500 exactly what I was looking for.

about 10% better fuel economy and 5% more mid-range power while towing my RV.

Excellent quality, 14 gauge pipes. Easy install, both sides slid right into place, bolted right up, no coaxing, no tweaking. Sound awesome, 200 miles on them so haven’t checked mpg yet.

I have a 2010 GMC Sierra 2500HD with a 6. 0 and I have already installed Gibson’s catback dual rear exit exhaust and Bully dogs power programmer that improved power and torque, then I added the headers and a Bully dog intake the greatly improved throttle response.

Overall very much worth the time, effort, and cost.

just finishing my build, go to install the steering and the header hit the idler arm. and the OEM steering gear. ,,, New body mounts, new motor mounts,,, new everything. they should have this figures out by now???? I had to change the manual gear box to a smaller Lares Gear Box (forgot the part #) and had to order the old Raybestos style idle arm (Moog will hit).

These fit perfectly on the 67 camaro. 427 sbc Motown extreme angle plug aluminum heads 23 deg. Stock steering box. Factory a arms. Trimmed some of the bolt on the driver side backside if camber adjustment.

but I am super pleased that I didn’t have to dent them ! Finish is spot on and flanges are super thick. Plenty of room for ANY starter too. Nice that all hardware is included. Would purchase again. I’d say this is as big as a tube you can go without rack and pinion and different upper and lower control arms.

These headers are very high-quality product. The ceramic coating shines like chrome. Easy installation by following instructions. Highly recommend to anyone wanting a great set of headers. Summit was very fast shipping them out on time.

The headers are awsome. The craftsmanship on them is impressive. They bolt up perfect and sound good. Only real negative thing is they got pushed back on shipping twice. Manufacture needs to learn they have to keep up with orders and not make a batch when they want.

It looks like a monkey welded these together and one header was actually very warped (angled towards my valve cover) and was obvious when I bolted them on my engine. Very disappointed in the quality of these headers.

Will never buy these again!.

I bought these headers for my boyfriend’s Derby car. He put them on the motor and they look great. He is very pleased with them.

I was nervous about spending this kind of cash on a set of headers, but I was not disappointed. Finish is flawless, fit was perfect. installation was a easy. Did not have to lift the motor in place. getting the old manifolds out was far more difficult.

Cut the old “Y” pipe out carefully and they will slip right in place. Would highly recommend them. They sound and perform great too. The EGR has a lot of adjustment so it fit well too. Can’t say enough good about the product.

Nice well build headers. Thick flanges, good gaskets thick tubing. Nightmare to install. Passenger not to hard had to bend heat shield on starter. Drivers side had to remove motor mount and brackets and raise motor to install.

I seen where other people trim frame I could not do that. Good thing I have two post lift.

Fit perfect with use of Hi-Po Z-Bar. Quality usable gaskets. Perfect collector location. Tried 2 other well known brands(FM & D’s) that did not fit.

Have to preface this by saying that it these went into a 1963 1/2 Falcon Sprint with a Ford Boss Block (FMS-M6010BOSS302) with World products Windsor Senior heads and Hydraulic clutch. These were the easiest headers I’ve ever installed.

Dougs said they would not fit, but Summit said they would, and they did. Easy to get to the spark plugs and header bolts (as much as possible )and have a good mounting flange. They look great also. They are a little pricey, but when headers install easily it’s almost worth it.

These are the only headers that I could find that I thought would work. I used these on a 1961 Ranchero, stock suspension, 347 stroker, Edelbrock Victor Jr heads, later Mustang frame mounts, and the Prothane urethane engine mounts.

I mention the heads as this was the only place where interference occurred on the driver’s side. One tube was hitting the head and had to be slightly dented for clearance. I also used the Modern Driveline external slave hydraulic cylinder on the T5 with no problems.

This is a very tight installation that requires patience to get it right but amazingly, they do work. Also note there are two headers available for this application. Make sure you order the right set or you will be returning them.

I installed these on my 64 Falcon, 347 with a T5 transmission and a RRS power rack and pinion. I have shock towers and mechanical z bar and it all fits fine. The z bar has to be placed in the gap b4 you bolt up the header.

The collectors do angle in. About 14 degrees on the drivers side and 9 degrees on the passenger side. That’s corrected by getting a shop to bend you two short pipes or I bought two 15 degree ss pipes and made them work.

Ordered the Hedman headers for my 1970 C10 Chevy Truck, they fit perfectly. The only issue I had was that one bolt was difficult to tighten up against the header tube. There was little to no clearance had to ding small indention in the tube to allow the bolt head to tighten past the tube.

Overall headers are nice and excited to get the rest of the exhaust installed. Would buy from summit again easy to work with. Thanks Summit!.

This headers fix perfectly, absolutely no clearance issues. Very good ceramic coating. This truck has been bagged. These headers allow exhaust pipes to be tucked into the frame giving great ground clearance.

Very good quality. Headers come with gasket-less collectors. No more leaky collector gaskets. Right side installed from the top. Left side could have but brake lines did not allow for that. Left easily installed from the bottom.

Did not have to remove oil filter or starter for installation. These headers are the easiest I’ve ever installed. The only negative – a little pricey.

Overall looks great and worked well, outside the fact that the mounting flange was way off level had to be brought to a machine shop and planed down. Summit customer service was excellent in helping me with the issue and I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase from summit again.

I was stuck between the 69260 and the 69090 for my 1965 C10. I know only a few fit with ease and these fit great. After opening the box it seemed as if these had been returned already since they were all scratched up.

Not a big deal since i read that the coating needs to be removed anyway and painted with header paint before installation. Even after contacting hedman techs asking about clearance with my 462 camel hump heads and them saying they would need to be modified to fit.

they did not. slid right in no problem. The only issue i ran into was the stock 350 starter has to be twisted and turned to get it in with the header installed. The header will not fit if the starter is already bolted up, and its really close to the starter housing once tightened down.

They are decent headers and fit great. The only complaint I have is if they are going to be painted please use high temperatures paint. It took a few hours to remove the paint so I could paint them with high temp paint.

These headers seem to be pretty good quality however the welds form the collectors to the merge pipes aren’t the greatest. But the fitment on my 66 c10 is great there is plenty of room for the plugs, wires and canister oil fiter.

The driver side literally just fell in and on the passenger side I had to remove the starter and go in from underneath the vehicle but other than that they were pretty easy to mount.

Let me start off by saying these are the best fitting budget headers for a 70-81 Camaro/firebird. I have a 1979 Camaro that me and a few friends swapped an L31 vortec engine into. The driver’s side headers went on great I think I went from the top on that side.

I didn’t even curse! The passenger side header was a little bit more tricky, my car has factory a/c so it has a big ol a/c box in the way so you can’t get the passenger side header in through the top.

When installing the passenger side I had to go through the bottom of the car and I had to really put some muscle into slipping the header tube closest to the firewall past the a/c box. Also the spark plugs are pretty tough to reach with a wrench.

Other than that I FULLY recommend these fantastic headers.

The fit of the headers is actually pretty good under the car. They tuck up against the body nicely. But the clearance to the steering shaft is very bad for me. On my 81 camaro the rag joint hits #7 very badly and the steering shaft rubs on #3.

I replaced my engine mounts thinking maybe they were a little worn out and the engine was leaning but it didn’t help. I also had the previously mentioned issue with the reducers being advertised as 3 inch but actually being 2.

5. The collectors are 3 but the product doesn’t come with 3 inch exhaust stubs. Also, again, stop painting these with non temp paint. Just oil them or something before sending them out.

No paint so they have a nasty smell until you burn the shipping coat off. I didn’t paint them, well because I’m lazy and was in a hurry to get them on. They have ball socket collectors witch worked great the engine side flange was decent.

I iswd the gaskets they sent with the header. They leaked. But a good set of gaskets and your in business. I had to grind the flange a little for fitment. But again cheap header. Sounds great performs well and had enough room for plug wires even on my straight plug heads.

fit great in my 1979 Camaro, big block swap. passenger went right in, drivers needed a minor adjustment for motor mount and a arm brace. looks like lots of clearance for starter. tight on oil filter, but all in all really good fit.

I have been looking for a set of shorty headers for my SS. After reading the reviews I got these. 1984 Monte Carlo SS Stock frame 454 HO GM Rectangle port heads Stock motor mount location AC/Heater Box delete 2 inch drop spindle These headers DO NOT fit.

They hit the upper A arm as do many headers on the market. Even with an after market A arm the #2cyl header tube will make contact with the arm where it attaches to the frame.

I liked the fit of these headers, I went with these shortys because full length headers wouldn’t fit around the cross member and z bar. They just barely fit and come a little closer to the oil filter than I’d like, but then again I have a big K&N oil filter so I guess I could go find a smaller filter to counteract that problem.

In the description it says they are painted but it’s not a high temp paint, I didn’t realize that til I got them in the mail and read the brochure. So you have to take all that paint off and repaint or go bare metal.

Or do what I did which was install them before reading brochure and burn all the paint off that way.

I have installed countless headers in the past 23 years and these, by far, were the best fit out of the box I’ve ever had. I installed these on my 1981 Z28. After reading the reviews I decided to do the driver side first, as I saw a few people say they had to clearance in some areas (I always do the harder one first).

I put the header in and had zero interference issues. It bolted up perfectly. Next was the passenger side. It went up and on perfectly too, zero interference issues. Getting to the #5 plug is tricky with these if you have straight plug heads, but it’s doable.

I’m doing a little of this and that before I pull the trigger on a crate 383. After installing these I know I’ll be hoping to find one with angle plug heads. it will make things a little bit easier. With that said, these work fine with my straight plug heads.

Overall, this is a great set of headers. Very well designed. I have nothing bad to say at all.

Definitely a quality header! Just what I needed to match up to my newly built sbc 385 engine. I was running a 1 5/8 tube 2 1/2 inch pipes and upgrading to the 1 3/4 tubes with 3 inch pipes made a noticeable difference.

I was also impressed that the square ports on the headers nearly matched my Dart heads without any porting needed!!! The flow is now much better and allows the engine to breathe at ease. Installation on 71 Camaro: Installed both from the bottom up.

Passenger side has great clearance around it, but driver side fits tight. Unfortunately I had to dent the header in at the top of the intermediate shaft where it meets the column. Also towards the middle of the intermediate shaft where the cap meets the two ends it was rubbing, I was able to shave the cap in half but occasionally have some vibration when turning from the rumbly engine (I would suggest also denting a very little in this area to avoid this small vibrations feel).

Last driver side cleanance concern is down on the frame lower control arm bracket, very tight and occasionally get small vibration. By all means this is no complaint to these headers as modifications with performance/universal parts are expected, just figured I give out my experience to help others with future troubleshooting! Appearance: Out of the box they are beautiful, after running them for a bit they seem to be holding up well.

Some tubes get hotter than others but just like they say, with a little 0000 steel wool they polish right up! The ceramic coat does seem to be vwry good quality and thick enough to survive the next couple years fine! Extra: The other parts that I used to pair with these headers are remflex gaskets to ensure a great seal, even though they do come with good gaskets I have had great experiences with remflex crush gaskets and only want to do this once, the part number RFL-2011 (these fit the square ports identically!).

For the 3 inch exhaust guys, this kit only comes with 2. 5 reducers so for 3 inch reducers use part number HED-21119 (these are also slip fit to clamp on if desired). Lastly, to match header appearance I couldn’t go wrong with the great performing ARP 12 point stainless header bolts, part number ARP-400-1210.

Installed this set this weekend, the finish on the product is amazing. Unfortunately the installation didn’t go great, interence with both headers with the stock Z-28 unibody frame supports, had to remove them completely.

Also had an interference with the drivers side lower A arm mount, had to heat up the new header and make a relief so it didn’t rub against the frame. The headers sound great and did make the motor run allot smoother compared with the stubby headers I had previously.

These headers came in a swap kit for a 66 Chevelle. I installed an LS motor. the headers fit perfect with no modifications or clearance issues. It did not require any modification of the bell housing ears on the transmission.

plenty of room for starter and steering. they came with a powder coat finish. worth the money for sure. both headers were able to be installed from the top side. primary tubes do seem to be a little smaller then other LS headers I have used but considering the tight space I think it was really the only option.

I didn’t use the cheap gaskets that came with the headers instead I chose to use the factory manifold gaskets since they are reusable.

Installed on 1972 Blazer 4×4, like others have said you need to cut about an inch off the ears of the 4l80. I also cut the collectors off and re directed the angle and welded them back on so that the height of my exhaust did not go below the frame and also would allow me to run the exhaust over the transfer case crossmember.

Very happy with installation result so far,project is not running yet.

So for people that read reviews in order to make a decision. I am very happy I made a choice with these long tube headers for my 2013 ZL1. They fit 100% perfectly with all supplied gasket and bolts. I did NOT have to make any major removals to install them, not even bottom plastic cover or any of the parts listed on the directions,(just spark plug wires and attached) I just wiggled them in slowly but a buddy is highly recommended for this.

The right one went in from the top and the left one (driver side) went in smoothly form the bottom. (your car may be different) Directions are supplied but basic knowledge is always good. You can expect noticeable power gain and sound even with stock exhaust.

I look for quality and Kooks headers was a perfect choice. Thank you Summit!.

Worked awesome on my swap had to do some slight modifications on the back bolt that comes up through the the frame for motor mount bracket. It does come with 3 bolt starter pipes I was a little worried! Comes with all hard wear to install allthough I opted for arp bolts with the obvious problem of chevy manifold bolts breaking.

Comes with header gaskets but again I decided to go with seal 4 good header gaskets. But I did use the 2 collector gaskets they sent! Awesome product will get back to you on how they hold up but I’m not worried!.

I have a pair of Hooker Competition shorties that are maybe 2 decades old, since they’re rusted and exhaust is all welded together I opted to start custom exhaust. I bought these headers and the build is great, someone answered a question and said these are for 3rd gen Camaro/Firebird, and with my experience at least, the driver side header doesn’t clear the k-member by a small margin.

Massaging the header should get it to fit. Also to note, the o2 sensor hole is welded on, but isn’t drilled out. So you’ll need to drill the hole if you’re gonna use a sensor, if not, it comes with a thread on cap.

i am very happy with my headers although there are some issues that one should expect from this price point. i would absolutely buy these again and suggest these with the 16767HKR y pipe to anyone. Issue one: as they came out of the box, the paint was so thin in some places that it didnt even completely cover the metal.

although i was surprised i, was planing on sand blasting and painting the headers with VHT header paint anyway. factory header paint has a horrible reputation anyway, so they are almost doing you a favor by not event temping you to mount them up as they come out of the box.

Issue Two: there were large fingers of weld that i guess dripped from the welds to the inside of the header. some of these were close enough to the opening to grind out with a dermal. some were not. this is where i am very glad i didnt pay $400 for the ceramic coated version of these.

for $400 i would be angry. $175 for headers, expecting to have zero issued is unreasonable. Issue three: install. although the actual fit is perfect and proper there where a couple hang ups on install.

One i had to bend the brake lines to the other side of the steering shaft. not a big deal, maybe took me 15 minutes. Two the header bolts are so close the the tubes that you cannon get a socket on all of them i had to jerry rig a crows foot or a wrench and plug the torque wrench into that.

gaskets need proper consistent torque to not leak so this actually does matter. also some of the bolts were covered by the tube so that a strait extension could not get on. i actually had to cut away a large section of my crows foot in order have enough room to turn the bolt.

someone (i think ARP) makes header bolts that will take an allen key. if i had any idea how much of a pain this was going to be i would have bought the after market bolts in a heart beat without even looking at the price.

that said i got it done and i love these things. 02 bung: they do come with a 02 bung but if you want to use it you have to drill out the tube to use it. not a bad or difficult thing. although it is on the rear of the collector, the factory 02 sensor wire IS long enough.

The good stuff: They fit great and have no leaks, but i did replace the included gaskets with high end crush type ones. the bolt hole all line up the tubes line up, they bolted up to the 16767HKR y pipe flawlessly.

there is not a huge sound difference but there is a tone change. i think it is more noticeable outside the car and maybe from a distance because i have gotten a lot of positive comments about how the car sound that i had not received before.

i have the same exhaust from the y pipe back as before.

I’ve heard of problems with the fit and manufacturing of these headers, but I was pleasantly surprised to see the quality they were built to. The arrived to me quickly, and the welds appear flawless, even inside the collector.

The flanges are straight and flat. I have not yet tried to install them, but if I need shorter spark plugs or 90 degree boots on the wires, I will be satisfied with the headers anyway. I do have some concerns about the starter clearance, however.

I cannot foresee too many fitment issues, as many of the reviews I have read say they are an okay fit.

Kit works very well. Came with all new bolts. Installed on 2001 silverado, 5. 3l, Z71, 4×4, ext. Cab. Installed August 2019. Kit works great, if you have 4 x 4 you need to put the drivers side header on and mark the header where it hits the drive shaft.

Pull the header down, heat it and hammer it in just a little bit to get clearance on the 4×4 drive shaft. Also before you get your header bolts started, get the Y pipe up in place first. I used the recommended y pipe from summit and it fit great.

Headers do come with Ports for the o2 sensors. Since it is cat-less now I left the 2 rear sensors off and it runs fine. Jacked truck up on jack stands and fed headers up through bottom, super easy, dont have to unbolt extra parts.

2 man job.

Haven’t installed these yet, just here to let everyone know the supplied kit does NOT come with an EGR block off plate, like one person had claimed. Only a gasket for a block off plate and 2 bolts and nuts to install your own.

That is, unless I got hosed.
