20 Best Twin Beds For Adults (2023 Updated)

I looked for a long time for a good, solid, simple, inexpensive king platform wooden bed. Most beds with that description were sold out or out of stock. You had to order 2-6 months, 3-9 months out at one furniture store.

I was very happy to find this Very solid bed. Fairly easy to put together. Would recommend for a simple solid platform king bed for a good price.

Very nice platform bed. Plenty of support for the mattress. Easy to put together. We think it looks great. Love the white wooden frame. Our 15. 5” mattress puts it at the right height for getting in and out.

It still has height for storage under bed. Extremely pleased with this purchase.

This is my 2nd platform bed. It’s much nicer than my previous one; super easy to put together and designed better than my older one. Sturdy wood, nice rustic white finish and the legs are much prettier than the typical straight legs; gives it more character.

So far I like this bed frame very much. I put it together by myself (and I’m 63!) and while the last step was difficult without a helper, it wasn’t hard to do. Great handy tools are included. Once assembled, you can tell it’s not a flimsy Ikea-style bed, it feels really solid.

And no squeaks. Support slats with velcro are terrific and seem to stay in place. I wonder if the velcro will give out over time? Happy with this purchase. Plus, delivery was fast.

This product, once assembled, will provide an excellent base for my new mattress. Unfortunately, due to poor health I haven’t managed to construct it yet. I am actually thinking of putting it together myself.

This is because the manufacturer has assured the buyer that the bed frame is easy to assemble. There aren’t any annoying screws as the joints are wedged in position. I am attracted to the simplicity of the frame.

After opening boxes we were pleased to see all pieces in great condition. The tricky part is the first step in locking in the corners of the 4 outer frame pieces. I tapped with a mallet to ensure. Ordered the natural as I will be staining.

Yes some of the slats have a few splinters but that is to be expected as this is the unseen support pieces of the bed. King has 2 spine supports with 2 legs each. 2 of the legs spacing were a little off but I inserted cardboard to make a tighter fit, no biggie.

The feet touch the ground with the weight of the mattress. It may look like they are not but they have small taps added to the bottom of the feet. This is a very solid bed frame with minimal noise. We have a 15 in plush mattress.

I am very happy with my purchase! Seems like some of the reviews are expecting a deluxe custom made frame that would cost 4 times the price.

I got this bed frame as it was recommended to me by someone else. When I received the frame, I noticed immediately that it did not look like good quality wood. I put the frame together and it was very simple, and the first night I was very pleased.

I also really like how it looks. However, the second night, I noticed that the frame started feeling slightly unstable, so I went under and made sure to tighten everything, which helped a little. The third night, I started hearing an awful squeak.

Every night since then, the squeak has gotten worse and worse, and the stability feels worse and worse. Nothing that I do seems to fix it and it drives my boyfriend and I absolutely insane. I wish that I never bought this bed because I have not slept well since getting it.

I love platform beds and I especially love wood bed frames, but I do NOT recommend this frame. While looking through the reviews I notice that all of the bad reviews explain the same exact thing. I wish I would have looked at the reviews more closely before purchasing.

the photos in description as well as in the thumbnail above shows that it is a light wood. IT is very much a red toned wood and different. The photos also appear to have a strongwomen middle beam that doesn’t have legs, part of reason I purchased, I want to slide things under bed and this looked like the middle support was enough.

In fact it has two middle legs that come off of the middles cross beam. Lastly, the smaller support planks were such bad wood with large wood shards which stabbed hand when tucking a sheet, and left splinters in mattress! The middle supports can be unfinished and a lesser quality wood, but they shouldn’t splinter, manybe sand first, and put a poly coat on.

overall dispappointed. the box also came damaged and the bed inside took a dent as well.

the color beige is not as it appears in the listing. it’s more of a darker beige instead of a lighter beige. I was looking for something more cream looking. it’s pretty basic platform bed no real other complaints except the headboard unless it’s up against the wall it’s a bit flimsy and not snug to the side rails that you attach it to.

the headboard is adjustable and if you have it at it it’s tallest height you can actually see holes. I do have the king size and it is compatible with adjustable bed. I would not repurchase.

If I could give this is zero I would. We were so excited after waiting 16 years to buy a king bed ! We purchased this king bed and a brand new mattress. And within a few weeks started noticing odd little bugs near the buttons like bugs coming out of the buttons.

Being naïve we thought maybe it was some strange bug from China that we had never seen no big deal. Then my husband started getting bites on his hands and a quick Google search told me it might be bedbugs ! Turned the frame around and looked under all the seams to find bedbugs under the seams and in the buttons.

I’m not saying it’s a needle’s fault because I do believe they do something called drop shipping. There a manufacturer will ship something directly from their warehouse wherever that maybe. But this has turned into such a nightmare.

We have three children and a house full of wooden floors and the prospect of the amount of money we’re going to have to spend to be sure they are gone is a nightmare. Buyer beware. If I can suggest one thing it would be to spray your upholsterer the headboards down before you even think of bringing them into your home.

I know they will probably respond and say they could’ve come from anywhere but we haven’t been anywhere for that to have happened nor have we had any gas or any issues in the past and we been living in our home for two years.

They refunded me which I appreciate but I do wish they would help with the extermination costs. Will be calling back to address that as I had no idea how costly this would be. It’s really such a shame all the way around it is a beautiful looking bad but just not sure about what conditions it’s being stored, manufactured or shipped in.

I purchased this bed on sale with a considerable discount and then it quickly went back up in price. If I had purchased at full price I really would have been devestated. Description stated that no need for box spring and I called customer service to see if it would fit through my apartment door.

Rep was nice and I asked about the slats and I saw a drawing on the website which indicated 3 slats of about 3 or so feet in width. That gave me confidence that it would support the mattress. When I began to put together the bed there was also a diagram with instructions of how to put bed together and it also showed 3 wide supported slats.

In reality, however, the 3 slats were about 1 or 1. 2 inches wide. This was not able to support the mattress and I had to go to the lumbar store and buy and have special cut thick plywood to support the mattress.

I’m not happy with the bed as the support is just not there. I paid over $100 for the plywood and cutting to fit. Because I paid just under $300 while on sale, I’m not that nuts over it, but for sure I wish I would’ve shopped around at the stores since I’ve seen much better of the same type for just a little over the regular price.

If you’re going to spend over $400 for this, save your money and wait to save a couple hundred more and get the better quality. I’m done with buying big furniture on line, especially since the diagram of the slats both on this website and on the manual were not true and definitely misleading.

Do not buy! Im happy others had positive experiences, but mine was dreadful. I’ve put together my fair share of furniture and this isnt the first time I’m going to have to return something due to shoddy work.

First, the box was delivered completely ripped up, none of the holes lined up properly for me to even begin to put it together, none of the screws were labelled! They were all thrown into the same bag all jumbled up.

The was a frustrating and a waste of time and money. Now I have to order a new bed and have to then wait for that one to be delivered!.

The materials are good, the packaging and expected construction process are empathetically designed for the customer. Unlike IKEA style platforms, however, this platform has no overlapping edge to hold the mattress in place, so be sure to order a good mattress with some weight.

We chose a NapQueen Victoria 10″ Hybrid Mattress and it works well. The hybrid mattresses are much less expensive than the ‘known’ types, but our sense is that it should provide good support and do the job for 5-8 years.

It is both comfortable and firm. Zinus platform beds do include a kind of unsophisticated way of holding a lighter mattress in place by allowing the user to peel back a strip of paper on two of the support slats, revealing a semi-sticky surface.

I’m not sure it will continue to work over time, but again, with the heavier mattress, a user will have no issues. If you are worried about the middle legs needed to support the side rails, I was too.

It tends to indicate lower quality, but we bought a full-sized bed (nice for less expensive sheets and more variety and makes rooms look bigger too), and we use European-style comforters (duvets) in queen size that hang over the platform by 8 inches or so.

The legs are nice bits of wood however, and do not look cheap. So, if you need a sturdy, relatively inexpensive bed with warm brown tones that can look formal or casual, this one will do the job.

Very nice quality bed, and easy to put together. We bought the King size and it is quite heavy, but once opened, it was assembled in under two hours. The support and our sleeping so far is great. No complaints there.

The one thing I would note is the headboard — there is a gap of about 2 inches between the headboard and the wall (due to our house having trim at the bottom of our walls). Which means if anyone was reading in bed and leaning against the headboard, it would put stress on it pushing it towards the wall.

In order to not have anything break, I put two rubber pieces behind the headboard to make it connect with the wall, and this has solved the issue. All-in-all I highly recommend this bed. It looks very nice and is high quality material.

Overall very disappointed in this bed frame. We ordered it back in September 2021 so have only had it for five months and the frame continues to feel like its about to fall out from under us. We have followed the instructions to the letter and have tightened up the screws on several occasions but still have trouble.

Would not buy this again or from Zinus as the customer service was not helpful.

Hardest bed to ever put back together. I had to disassemble the bed for a move, (because it’s so flimsy), and after straining my back and almost breaking my toe–I’m calling it quits. Oh yeah, you have to wrap cushion around the support posts and legs or else–OUCH! We never really liked to bed, the headboard and footboard are too short.

Just a bad investment and purchase experience.

This bed is supportive and attractive while still affordable. I was pleased to find an affordable twin bed that supports a range of adult sizes and weights. The metal support legs in the middle of the length of the bed are a bit of a toe-stubbing hazard, so I created some foam protective covers to go around them.

Otherwise, the bed has been exactly what I was looking for!.

My boy (Brian) age 10 put it together in 2 days all by himself. Then the 12 year old (Matthew) put his bed up in one day because the 10 year old helped him out. It is important to pay close attention to the screws.

Short and long ones can be confusing. If you mess up and use all the long ones first for the head board and foot boards and sides. You will be wrong. Give yourself lots of time and don’t get to mad if you get it wrong in the beginning.

You might have to start over again. Good Luck.

I have an older dog and the the old frame box spring and mattress was too high. This platform was easy to assemble and very sturdy. With the name brand hybrid mattress, the end result was a better night sleep for us both.

Highly recommended.

Not quality sold as heavy duty with rails Rails are some plastic things you set on. I never did get all the rails screwed down, after 3 hrs of losing and tighting. not level crazy. Went and bought plywood so that the mattress does not go through openings.

I have bought another companies a year ago and it was wonderful, easy to put together and sturdy. This product is aweful.

I’m very happy with the product. I love the extended height. I’m able to store things under the bed with no problem. The only issue I have is that the mattress stops are plastic, not metal. My grandson has a bad habit of sliding into the bed causing it to move the mattress up against the stops.

I’m worried that he may break them.

I will not recommend this bed until they resurface the rough wood slats. I had to lay it out carefully so as not to get splinters. Anyway it’s hidden under the mattress. That problem is negated by the overall craftsmanship of the bed.

It has a beautiful redwood finish, unlike the unfinished rough pine slats it came with that must have been made from the outskirts of China. The rest of the cherry wood is impeccable and great planning and expertise must have been given to how it would be assembled because it’s easier than putting together a Leggo.

I assembled it in less than 30min and after it was done, I was really proud how it looked and how I accomplished it so easily based from the very detailed and easy to follow instruction.

The first bed I ordered came with a damaged rail. Had it picked up and received a replacement. The second one had a pretty bad ding in one of the rails but I put it at the head against the wall so it doesn’t show.

It was super easy to put together. My complaint is that if your mattress slips even an inch or so, the underneath slats show! The color online seems like barnwood, however; the actual color is what I call honey oak (from the early 2000’s.

Otherwise, I guess it is ok. Its a little high price for what you get. I’ve learned my lesson purchasing major items online with this bed frame and the less than desirable mattress I purchased at the same time.

I bought this bed frame because I wanted a low profile, beautiful platform bed. It exceeded my expectations in every way! It arrived quickly in a box that fit inside my small SUV. My husband opened the box on the first floor and we carried the pieces up to the second floor.

I assembled the bed in about 90 minutes. amazing how some brilliant engineer figured out how to design and label every part, and how it actually went together without a hitch! It looks beautiful in our bedroom, and feels solid and secure.

no squeaks or wobbles. I am very pleased! We also purchased the Suzanne twin daybed and trundle for a guest bedroom. just as easy to assemble, and I like the low profile! No one has slept on it yet. I am happy with both products and recommend them! Also, I appreciated the human touch of a card inside the package.

Good bed for a cheap mattress but the slats on the frame are spaced too far apart which voids the warranty of nicer mattresses (spacing needs to be less than 2 inches apart and zinus is almost double).

Be careful as it’s not worth voiding the warranty on a 1000$+ mattress just to save a few hundred on the base. I’ve been trying to find a solution but no replacement slats are available.

I purchased this bed to use in a guestroom. It came quickly and was delivered three days before they said it would be. All the parts were there and very well packaged with no damage. Came with the tools you needed to assemble it.

I put it together by myself. Took a little time but instructions were very easy to follow. It is lightweight and seems pretty sturdy. I don’t know if it would hold up to long-term every day use for a couple but definitely would for a single person.

I’m very pleased with it. It looks great. Everything is tight no rattling no squeaking. For the money I am very satisfied. Looks just like the picture.

It’s even more beautiful in person. I’m totally living this bed in the spare room. I switched out a bigger bed to this to have more room and it looks amazing. It goes better with the them I have to. It should go about with anything decor you have.

I have modern farmhouse and it looks beautiful. The color is nice and stands out and the bed is so nice and well made. It also had the tools with it to put together. Took a bit but my husband and I had it together in less then an hour.

I like that it’s low profile and I didn’t have to get a box springs to when switching sizes. Just the new mattress. It’s sturdy to and holds me fine. it would be great for kids rooms too. I sure do love it and get compliments on it from family.

This platform bed has been a highlight in our master bedroom. I will tell you I was skeptical about a bed that doesn’t need a box spring. Now, I’m convinced. I like the modem design of the black fabric headboard.

So stylish and the rounded corners make it so beautiful. We took our time setting the bed up and I am guessing it was ready in about an hour. Very simple with great instructions. It has wooden slats for support so that is why no box spring is needed, just our mattress.

And now that I have sleeping in it a good week, I can tell you the quality is excellent. And quality is needed for a good night’s sleep. I would definitely recommend.

The diamond tufted appearance matches my throw pillows on my Kumasi sectional and chair perfectly. The teal color is a perfect match for all of my other teal/aqua accent color pieces. I have it as a remote holder in the center of my coffee table.

I got this sample of Brighton King Size Tufted Upholstered Platform Bed in Dark Gray Fabric with 10 Inch CertiPUR-US Certified Pocket Spring Mattress from Tryit and in return am writing this review. O got the bed and mattress on the same day.

Luckily I had help to bring inside my home. My husband and I spent about hour and a half setting it all up in our bedroom. I love the upholstered headboard as it goes with my decor. We got the mattress unpacked, took off the plastic carefully.

The mattress immediately stared to fluff out to cover the king size frame. We let it set out all day and slept on it that night. The mattress was very comfortable for me and have had no issues with sagging or it being too soft.

I have been using this bed for a while now and am very pleased. This bed is extremely comfortable to sleep on. In addition, the neutral color goes very well with my carpet and wall color. I wake up well rested and would consider the mattress a medium firm.

In terms of putting the set together, it was super easy. The directions were intuitive and required only a few tools to complete. The entire process took less than an hour. I definitely recommend this bed.

I got this bed to replace my teen daughter’s childhood bed. The bed is definitely high quality. It was delivered well packaged with individual pieces wrapped in plastic so as not soil or damage other components.

The instructions for assembly were clear. It was a two person job that took less than an hour to put together. The mattress is comfortable; soft but firm. The beige upholstery make this bed easy to go with other furniture and various types of bedding.

The modern, upscale look of the design makes this a quality addition to the bedroom.

I really enjoy this frame. The driftwood color is pretty and the texture gives it character. The frame is made from composite wood. Assembly with 2 people didn’t take too much effort and time. The pieces were packaged very well and instruction were clear.

A caveat, if you obtain a King size frame, I recommend getting a few more slacks to fill in some of the gaps between the provided slacks. Note, I have only a mattress (no box spring) so the added slacks (just a few pieces of lumber from a hardware store, appropriately measured, of course) will offer extra support and prevents the mattress from sinking.

By the way, it was delivered earlier than expected by UPS (with some minor dings to only the packaging). Overall, great quality and recommend it if you are seeking something simple and natural.

I love this bed! I got it in ”Driftwood”, and it goes so well with my boho-themed room. I’d say get a 5” box spring ideally. I have a 7”, and my bed is slightly higher than I would have preferred, but still manageable.

Putting it together took my dad and I about 2. 5 hours, and he’s great at building things. This is one where I would ask for help or have professionally assembled if I didn’t have him. Another disclaimer is that the planks that come with the bed are pine as well, and there are 4.

Candidly, I would have preferred a 5th one at a minimum, and overall a stronger wood for the planks. If you can plan ahead and get oak planks, than you’re golden. But in summary, I love my new bed and would recommend to anyone, particularly the “Driftwood” color for my light-wood fans!.

We renovated the attic and put the kids’ bedrooms up there. We have angled ceilings with some low. This bed works great to save space and give a higher ceiling feel

The bed looks nice but the quality is very poor. You can not comfortably lean on the headboard as it is loosely attached to the bed frame. Very disappointed with this purchase.
