20 Best Toner For Oily Skin And Acne (2023 Updated)

I don’t know how this product doesn’t have an average rating of 5 stars, it’s that good. 1. 5 year ago I began developing painful, deep, cystic acne all over my face, back and chest. My skin was previously oily but clear.

I have a long list of health symptoms that randomly come and go, so I treated as best I could and attributed it to that. Even my derm said he couldn’t do much without me getting to the root cause of it (something internal) via other doctors.

It was wild- didn’t look like normal cystic acne. Large scabs would form and they’d take months to heal. Finally, I had an anaphylactic-type allergic reaction to coconut, then any traces of coconut in any product would bother me.

Then witch hazel did the same. Then… milk products! I realized that even when I was super careful about what I touched, ate or put on my skin, trace amounts might sneak past me and my skin would let me know; I’d have a massive cystic type pimple the next day.

Since coconut derivatives and witch hazel are in nearly every beauty product, my skin cleared a lot on its own with a diet restriction but my skin was still very oily with a bad texture and clogged pores that were waiting to form a deep pimple as soon as I did anything that could cause an allergic response.

I was desperate to find a face wash and toner that didn’t contain these ingredients, but it’s hard to do, esp when ‘natural’ products contain things I’m allergic to, and ‘non natural’ products contain chemicals that upset my already-sensitive skin.

I found 1 single bottle of this at the pharmacy and excitedly grabbed it, just knowing it’s what I’ve been looking for. It took some trial and error (I absolutely can’t use it more than 1x day and even then, sometimes that’s too much) so it made my skin crazy clear overnight, but for a few days after I tried to build up to 2x a day like the bottle says and that is def not for me.

Now that I have a rhythm, my scars are fading fast, skin is less oily, and it’s rare that I get a single pimple. All from this one product (I was my face with water, wear makeup 2x week max, moisturize with noncomodogenic and gentle emu oil.

)I even use this on scars around my body and noticed a big difference in their fading time! Better than Mederma for me. If you’re thinking about getting this and are desperate like I was, do it. I spent hundreds, if not thousands, on wasted skin care trying to get my life back and this little bottle was all it took.

This is the first time I’ve ever had a HOLY GRAIL skin product. I was originally using Paula’s choice bha exfoliant and wasn’t really seeing any results. But with this one, WOAH! It doesn’t go on oily like Paula’s choice, and it also have glycolic acid and lactic acid for extra exfoliating power.

BE CAREFUL! When I first started using this I was so happy with my results I was using it every day and it caused my skin to become over exfoliated, super shiny, and destroyed my skin barrier. I took a month break and now I only use it twice a week, with at least three days in between each use.

My skin haven’t looked this great in over a year. Even though I no longer use the Paula’s choice liquid exfoliant I still use the PC oil reducing cleanser which pairs great with this. My texture is slowly smoothing out, the redness is just about gone, and I feel like I see some scars fading.

I’ve had acne issues for a really long time ever since middle school. My skin is usually really stubborn and acne-prone. My acne always comes back worse whenever used the wrong skin product or a skincare routine that doesn’t fit my sensitive combination skin type.

I couldn’t find the right product for myself in the past 2 years. I’ve started using this toner along with the Acne Clarifying cleanser in these past 2 months and my skin is clearing up! I took some pictures to see the progress and my skin looks so much healthier.

I also like that it’s isn’t too drying like other drugstore anti-acne products. My acne scars are fading too. This is the best acne treatment for my skin!.

Overall I’m a pretty big fan of this toner. It does have a tingling sensation when applying however that’s something I personally really like in a face product. The only reason I’m giving it a 4 star review is because it slightly dried my skin out- the label does say to only use 1-2 times per week until your face gets used to it.

I’ve had the product for about 3 weeks and still am only able to use about 1x/week. I also think the change in seasons is playing a factor into my skin’s dryness. That being said I tyically breakout with a couple zits when it’s that special time of the month and this product really did help alleviate my breakouts this month.

I wasn’t crazy about the smell but I didn’t find it overpowering enough that i’d advise against using the product. I received this product in exchange for a review.

This is such a good toner for anyone with blemishes and acne prone skin. It has a refreshing feel that gives the skin a good clean feeling. I use it every night and I have rarely had a breakout since I started using it! It is tacky but I think that helps any moisturizer or serum to grip onto the skin and sink in fully.

I had to take off a star because the scent isn’t my favorite, though it doesn’t last long, and it can burn a bit on any place of broken skin. Other than that, this is a great product for anyone dealing with blemishes and acne scars! *I received this product complimentary for review purposes.

I don’t normally use toner, but after trying this product, I plan to make it part of my regular routine. I love the way this product feels on my skin and have noticed less acne and more overall balance in my combination skin.

The smell is very pleasant (it does NOT smell like tomatoes) and it doesn’t burn when applied like previous toners I have used. The pump is very easy to use, just press down with a cotton ball or round.

I actually find myself looking forward to using it. PLUS, natural ingredients and cruelty free. Can’t get better than that. This product was given to me in exchange for an honest review.

I have started using this toner a year ago. I had bangs and it made my forehead even more oilier. I live in the midwest and it’s so humid here. Since, using this my skin is hydrated but never too oily or too dry.

It is perfect for oily skin. I do not get acne anymore when I also watch my diet. If I eat chocolates I still get acne but thats everyone !!! So, this is the best toner I used before and trust I use the cheapest make up ever!!!!!.

Since I love Burt’s bees, I was excited to try these. I am not reviewing the acne lotion but a daily moisturizing lotion. Unfortunately for me these were a disaster. Apparently , Burt ‘s did not consider minorities in these formulations.

They leave a white pall on your skin and you cannot get it to absorb or blend in. You end up looking like you’re out for Halloween. Very disappointing as these creams are about $18 each on sale. Warning if you have any type of olive or other skin tone don’t purchase.

As we all should know by now, Burt’s Bees is an all natural approach to the overly hygienic lifestyle. Some people do not prefer to use facial products to cleanse their acne populated areas, in my opinion Burt’s Bees cleansing is the way to go for any acne related skin problems.

The products are so gentle to the point where a baby’s skin would not be bothered or irritated by the Burt’s Bees products. The Purifying Gel Cleanser is one of my favorites. You do not have to deal with a film left on your skin after washing.

It really makes a difference in your skin. The scent is great too. The Purifying Gel Cleanser comes in a medium sized plastic bottle with a pop top much like many shampoo bottles. (Pop one side down the spout is revealed).

Very simple, no mess. You won’t be losing any of the cleanser due to poor packaging either. This cleanser is great because it does not dry out my skin like most cleansers do. I would absolutely recommend you all try the Burt’s Bees Natural Acne solutions.

Effectiveness It works so well, smells great washes your face as gently as warm water. I do not like to use anything else but Burt’s Bees on my skin. Ease of Application So easy! You could either squeeze a small amount on a wash cloth, mix in cleanser your face or you could rub it in your hands and just apply it by hand.

Wash, rinse, towel pat dry. Convenience Very convenient. The small bottle holds quite a lot of uses, so you can bring it with you in whatever you are carrying (purse, bags etc. ). You could wash your face twice a day for at least a month, depending on how much you actually squeeze out.

A little goes such a long way with this stuff! Its very concentrated. So if you are one of the many people in the world who wash their face once a day, (since it gets pretty dry with two washes per day) you would have at least two months worth of washes.

Side Effects I have not experienced any side effects from the Burt’s Bees Acne Natural Acne Solutions Purifying Cleanser. This product have only improved my skin during the times used. Immediacy I personally feel relief from gross skin at the moment I start applying the wash to my face.

After you are done and have rinsed and dried your face, you really do feel refreshed clean.

This is literally amazing. As a teenager with acne issues, and barely having any acne before 14, I’ve just recently gotten this product and it’s insanely wonderful. It’s a perfect price range, I would totally recommend for those who have dermatillomania, as well.

With open wounds, it somewhat disinfects it and leaves it puffy without any burning in a hot shower. I have light and sensitive skin, and it’s very easily seen if I have a bad reaction. I’ve used 3 or 4 before this and they couldn’t hold a candle to it.

I’m a Burt’s Bees fan and always have been but this is perfect. It also is obviously natural as said in the title, and gentle, and has a wonderful lemongrass scent appeasing to those with sensory issues.

I use this alone without any regiment other than facial wipes and it’s a miracle-worker.

EXACTLY !! HORRIBLE NEW VERSION Please do yourself a favor and save your money unlike I did. I bought three bottles of the new version because it was marketed as only new packaging, how wrong I was… Completely disappointed as soon as I took the safety seal off as I knew exactly what they had done.

Do not buy this product. A couple months ago before the formula change I recommended this product specifically to everyone I knew. Now, I am so utterly disappointed. The new version of this product is completely different and completely ineffective.

The toner does not remove any of the dirt, makeup, or oil from my face after cleansing. The new scent makes me sick to my stomach and the lingering feeling of a sticky product remains. It is comical that the brand thought they could discontinue the old version and pass this version as the same product.

I have no idea what I am going to do as this has been a staple in my daily skincare routine for years, using it twice if not three times a day. When I would run out of the toner and couldn’t find it at my local stores I would instantly notice acne, oil, and just a horrible appearance in my skin.

I’m 49 with drier skin overall, but I have large pores and therefore am still prone to blackheads, whiteheads and CYSTIC ACNE. It’s been difficult for me to find a toner that doesn’t either dry out or break out my skin.

This one fits the bill, and it does not sting if I have a blemish that I may have messed with 😉 It also brings cystic bumps down nicely and helps s lot with red spots-which is great because I have very pale skin which shows every little spot.

The ONLY reason for 4 vs. 5 stars is the bottle is too darn small-I would gladly pay more for a larger bottle-less plastic and less trips to the store. BTW, This is a toner so it’s not intended to remove makeup.

I got this toner on sale and it was the best purchase ever. I have eczema from head to toes. So, I am reluctant on buying products marketed for “sensitive skin”. Anyways, I gave it a shot, because why not? My skin is already bad anyways, what am I to lose? I noticed that I started having break outs because of wearing masks everyday at work.

On top of that, my face is really dry, as in dry flaky skin around my eyelids, nose and skin above my lips. No matter what I put, by the end of the day, it’s gonna be back to being flaky. Luckily, I get to hide them under my mask.

Anyways, I used this toner after shower and boy oh boy oh boy. It was stingy but when I woke up the next day. My skin was smooth with no flakiness the WHOLE day!! I was dumbfounded and still can’t believe that is now my holy grail.

Been using it since and never had a flaky dry face ever again. My ance is also regulated. My only regret is I didn’t buy a lot of them when it was on sale!!!! I highly recommend!!.

Another life saver for me. I always struggle with pre period acne’s, i don’t know why but my skin goes crazy during this period. This toner from The Body Shop is my main helper! Tea tree oil is absolutely magical product for pimples and oily skin, but be careful, it is SUPER ALLERGIC! Benefits of this products are: My skin looks always matte! I mean matte, even i wear face mask whole day! It kills every single extra oil drop on my face! Helps with pimples as i mentioned 👆, minimizes pores around my nose.

I don’t know how you feel but i can’t live without facial toners, if you have oily skin you know what i mean, but me careful with tea tree oil, i recommend you to buy travel size and test it! If you feel uncomfortable remove it immediately but if you feel nothing, congratulations your face will bless you 😂.

This is great – it doesn’t have a chemical smell like a lot of toners aimed at getting rid of blackheads/refining pores and it’s really gentle on the skin; no tingling or stinging at all, which I was pleasantly surprised at.

Bonus: it actually does the job! There was a noticeable improvement after about a week and the appearance of my skin continues to improve week on week with once daily use. Really happy with this.

Fairly good product so far. Skin feels toned, not sure about the exfoliating effect though. I would be happy to buy again, If only the customer service was as good. Have been having difficulties with return labels, and customer service is useless to say the least.

Have been using this toner for around 2 weeks by now and am totally happy with it. Gentle exfoliation indeed, lovely texture, gives a nice feeling and goes very well prior to the Lactic serum (everyday, pm).

My skin texture became more even (and it’s just the start I believe), red post-acne spots faded out a little bit. I prefer to be patient and wait for more results rather than considering something more radical.

If you are patient too, you may love it as much as I do! Me: 31, normal skin with a bit of oiliness in the T-zone in the summer, uneven texture, post-acne discolouration.
