20 Best Tires For Florida Heat And Rain (2023 Updated)

These Tires were original to my FWD 2014 Buick Regal Turbo. Rotated every 5K miles. They were comfortable, decent performance and overall good tires. I recently replaced them with Continental Extreme Contact DWS06 Plus.

These last a good long time, 100,000 miles, 50,000 miles each tire on the drive wheels which is right on par with the warranty. The reason I didn’t purchase these again is because they are really expensive.

I understand that they are touring sport tires so they have to be both comfortable and have good performance and tread life but when i switched to the continentals, the new tires were just as comfortable even though they’re ultra performance all season.

These tires run even more expensive than the critically acclaimed Michelin pilot sports. The MXM4s also have pretty thin soft side wall, maybe for comfort but it was flushed with the rim so no protection from curb rashing the rim.

The rubber compound is softer which makes for great stopping in wet but the trade off is they don’t last as long as rivals, especially for heavier vehicles like EVs. Overall a Good tire, but for the money you can buy a tire that offers more for less, including offerings from Michelin.

I purchased the Primacy Tour A/S ZP tires in a 245/40 19 size. This is a nice tire overall and matches with my Infiniti Q50S AWD nicely. I have about 30,000 miles on my odometer. However, I noticed a faint vibration sound at highway speeds.

There is no real vibration felt, but I fear time will only make this condition worse. The tires were Road Force balanced at time of purchase. The vibration sound got worse over time and after about 1000 miles I took my car in to my dealer describing and recording the noise I was hearing in the cabin.

We inspected the shocks, the front and rear drive shafts, the wheel bearings, checked the run-out of the wheels themselves and they are running true. We put the tires on their Road Force balancer and the weights were spot on.

The car was brought in a second time to the dealer at a later date as the vibration sound on the highway was slightly more noticeable and was distracting my driving experience, pulsing anywhere from 12-16 times a second.

Again, we looked at all suspension and driveline components, put a stethoscope on all rotating sections of the drivetrain and bearings, and the car checked out solid, checked out by the dealer’s master mechanic on this second visit.

So, the car was lowered from the hoist, a second mechanic got in the drivers seat and the car was lifted again. With the car started and running about 15 mph while up on the hoist. Being AWD all of the tires were spinning in the air.

We could see that as the tires rotated, each tire had a high spot, perhaps at a seam? The left front was the worst but each of the tires had that one spot that was high with the rest of the tire surface running true.

All of this pointed to the tires being responsible for that pulsing sound heard on the highway. Going back to the tire dealer, they graciously agreed to replace all of the tires, however they are currently on backorder.

For the meantime, they offered to put the tires on the Road Force balancer while we wait for backordered tires to become available, Being the third time these tires have been on the balancer, they once again were spot on and no adjustments were needed.

I am concerned that the replacement tires will have the same issue. I would have switched over to some other tire, but it is very difficult to find a Run Flat tire in this size, with a 94 load rating, a V or better speed rating, and a tread width comparable to the OEM tires.

While the Bridgestone Driveguard would be the next best replacement tire, its main drawback is the tire width is only 7 inches compared to the OEM Dunlop SP Sport 5000 tires at 8. 7 inches. That seems like a huge compromise for cornering traction.

(btw, the Dunlop SP Sport 5000 tires are by far the worst tires in every measurable category, and of any tires I have driven on in my 40+ years of car ownership. Are you listening Dunlop?) Ideally, I would have preferred to purchase a 245/40 19 Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4, or any other premium performance Michelin All Season tire.

However Michelin does not offer any other Run Flat tires in this size. I prefer to keep the run flat tires as no spare or spare mount is built into the car. Going back to the replacement tires, they will again be the Primacy A/S ZP.

I hope they don’t also have those high spots. If they do, I have no idea what other tire I would run. Michelin, you have an opportunity to provide a 245/40 19 tire as a replacement for 2014-2021 Infiniti Q50’s and other brands for Ultra High Performance Run Flats, and hopefully without the high spots like that with the Primacy.

I will say this though, the Primacy is a very respectable tires on many fronts. Outside of the high spot issue, the tire is impressively quiet, the drive is comfortable yet performance is available when asked, the cornering is exceptional even when pushing the car in the roundabouts, has excellent road manners over expansion cracks, very good in wet and dry, and frankly a great tire for those looking for a capable tire for general and spirited driving on the back roads.

The high spots take away from what would be rated as an excellent tire.

I bought a used Honda Accord V6 Coupe that had these as OEM tires. Two of the original tires were worn below my comfort level heading into winter in WI. My dilemma was to spend money on four new tires, upgrading to a much better tire at a much higher cost.

Or to buy two replacement OEM Michelin MXM4’s to get me through winter. I chose the latter. I was hesitant to buy new OEM replacements because of the terrible reputation they have. But I’m pretty happy with these.

The ride, noise level and handling of these MX’s are very good. Again, wouldn’t be my first choice if I had to buy a full set but I have no regrets for the money spent. All I can say about longevity is that the tires I removed, also MXM4’s were wearing evenly and still riding smoothly at about 45,000 miles.

Just not enough tread left (IMO) for the upcoming winter.

All four tires that were shipped to me were out of round. This was discovered at the time of balancing the tires. At first I was told to deal with the factory warranty because I had the tires shipped to me and found my own installer.

There is a flaw in this policy. The other way is to have Tirebuyer find an installer. In which case if there is a flaw in the tire they can be returned. Not sure why it matters. It shouldn’t. If the tires are bad, they’re bad no matter who does the mount an balance.

Thankfully after pushing the matter to a higher ranking associate. Tirebuyer agreed to refund the tires. I moved along an purchased tires elsewhere. I will say a second experience with Tirebuyer and a completely different brand of tire worked out well.

The first not so much. In the end it’s just easier for me to purchase from a tire shop even if it’s a bit more expensive. I found my savings to be minimal.

If you’re buying these as whitewalls, you most likely have a nice classic, or older car you want to make look nice with some traditional whitewalls. The past 2 years, I have been fighting with the “dirty whitewalls” or “brownwalls” that people are complaining about.

Purchased these for a mint 92 Town Car I only to take to shows and drive on weekends. Car is cleaned every time it’s taken out and put away. Not driven in rain or even has the ability to accumulate brake dust on the tires.

I’ve read been reading about issues with Uniroyal Tiger Paw and a few other brands of whitewalls that are dirty looking and won’t come clean. I literally tried every type of brush, tire cleaner, sos pads, bleach white, white wall wax, etc.

and nothing will make these white. They were never white from day 1. Whitewall turns completely brown after car sits for a certain period of time. After 2 years I have about 800 miles on these tires.

I finally gave up and bought 4 Mastercraft whitewalls. They are snow white, the way a whitewall should be. One wipe around the new tires with mild dish soap and a rag and the tires are spotless. I’m so happy with the new tires.

I never had this trouble with Uniroyal whitewalls before. I am only writing this to help others avoid being frustrated and waist time trying to clean these up with no good results. Pictures of old vs new below.

I went to have these tires installed on my classic 1989 Ford Country Squire wagon yesterday 9/8/2022. I verified before purchasing that these were the CORRECT TIRES for my car on the Walmart website plus many other sights to be sure.

I was replacing some ugly blackwalls of incorrect size. Walmart service manager would not install as they were a “different size” than currently on the car! POOR SERVICE!!! NEVER have I heard such NONSENSE! I even offered to show him their own website calling for this size tire.

his answer to me was we can’t accept any internet verification! He just for some reason did not want to install late in the day and I had appt! I am now having to cancel the order!.

I have been buying Uniroyal tires for years and have always recommended them until now. I bought 4 Uniroyal Tiger Paw AWP II tires in the fall of 2019. I had trouble trying to get the whitewalls white, instead they looked tan in color.

The car went into storage right after and in spring 2020, I still could not get them cleaned up. I used every tire cleaner and traditional cleaning methods but the whitewalls are still a dirty white.

They turn completely brown after a week and I repeatedly scrub them to lighted them up some. I am disappointed, as these are on a show car that isn’t even driven in the rain. I put these exact same Uniroyal tires on my Eldorado 3 years ago and never had an issue with the whitewalls.

I don’t usually leave reviews on products but don’t want anyone else to go through this. I would not recommend these if you specifically need whitewalls.

I bought these tires for my 2006 Toyota RAV4 3. 5 V6 4WD. The day I had them installed, it was raining hard. I decided to take a drive on the highway, after installation, and going 70mph – not a hitch.

Tires had excellent grip. Being a division of Hercules Tires, which is also made by Cooper Tires, hey, I said, why not? Excellent price, very good treadwear, and quieter than my previous set of tires, I couldn’t go wrong.

I was right. Then on the 3rd week of December, it snowed hard on a Wednesday, but hey, these tires stuck pretty well. I’m just very impressed, all things considered. These tires live up to the name. Highly recommended.

Normally, I purchase tires with way higher tread life numbers, but I think these will be just fine for the two cars in my fleet that do not travel very far. I made the mistake of purchasing touring tires for my Lancer and Mustang, and then their annual mileage dropped to below 3000 miles each.

The tires were cracking before I could even wear them out. So I was looking for a good value, and found both Tire Buyer and these Ironman GR906(s). They are quiet, and smooth riding, heck even my wife noticed this and she it NOT a car person.

Since they’re working out for her 2009 Lancer, I think I’m going to get them for my 2007 Mustang, which is now just my hobby car. I’ll likely still get a better touring or GT tire for my 2016 Civic, which is daily driven much further.

These GR906(s) are great in the rain, and while I haven’t really pushed them in the windy-twisties, they seem to have a decent grip for my wife’s purposes, and likely my geriatric Mustang’s purposes too! Good tire for the (very little) money! A note on my ratings below: The jury is still out on winter traction, so I gave all these scores a 3.

We haven’t really had any real winter weather yet since I bought them, but their other positive reviews in this regard is why I chose them.

Looking for a decent all season tire at a decent price for my high school daughters Nissan Sentra when I came across these. I did quite a bit of research on them and their rating before deciding to purchase.

They seem to be a decent tire at a decent price, they do not offer a mileage warranty, so we will have to see how they fair in that area. Ordering was easy, and they arrived on-time , albeit split packaging, with two arriving one day, and two the next.

When the first two arrived the shipping status showed ‘delivered ‘, so I was a bit concerned. One call to their customer service and they assured me the second two would arrive the next day, which they did as promised.

Despite coming from two different locales, the manufacturer dates were only a few months off, so luckily none of them were ‘old stock’ I had them direct shipped to my shop, as I have a tire machine. The only issue I had when mounting is that they had been stored flat on there side at some point, and took quite a bit of effort to get the first one to seat on the bead.

After the first one, I spent a few minutes physically pulling/ stretching the sidewalls apart before mounting and the other three seated fairly easily. They all four balanced with 1. 5 oz or less of weight on each wheel, directly across from the TPMS , so very normal and very good run out.

Thus far, they seem to ride and drive just fine, (much better feel than the tires they replaced) We will see how they hold up mileage wise, but again, so far, so good.

Purchased these tires after the factory supplied Michelin Primacy tires had to be replaced at 42,000 miles. I have put just less than 30,000 miles on these tires and have been told they should be replaced and have only about 2,000 miles remaining and that I shouldn’t plan any long trips.

I have used Michelin tires on all of my vehicles for quite some time, but don’t understand why they seem to under perform. Tires are maintained well and rotated by the dealer at each oil change. Since the vehicle is a Hybrid, I prefer the fuel efficient tires, but they lose their advantage and appeal when they have to be replaced in such a short period.

Not sure what I’m going to replace these with, but overall cost of ownership may win out over brand loyalty when the tires underperform so horribly.

2020 Bolt with factory Michelin tires, 17,000 miles, picked up very small pan head screw. Our tire dealer could not fix a self seal and replacement would be $270. Chevy dealer said it was not under warranty even though our warranty book said tires were included and had a prorated replacement chart.

Chevy dealer said they could not fix it and we would have to buy a new tire, full price. Any normal tire would have been fixed and back on road for $40. Still working on this two days later. Michelin rep said it was a road hazard and even though in center of tread and under 1/4″ it was not covered.

So much for all the self seal hype and Michelin and Chevy standing behind their products.

I have had the tires for 24,700 miles now and just noticed that 2 tires are beginning to fail. Both failing tires have small side wall bulges appearing. The tires do not show any damage (scrapes or dents).

I will say that I do like the overall performance and tread life I have experience with the tires all tires have even wear and have been rotated every 7,500 miles and balanced checked every 15,000. Unfortunately they are outside the range for my road hazard warranty and due to the sidewall failure they wont last anywhere near the expected/rated 65,000 miles.

Until they strengthen/reinforce the tire I do not think I will be buying another set.

Just got these tires and they look great, plus I bought them through Walmart when they were on sale. I was disappointed that these tires can’t be shipped directly to my local Walmart auto department but instead were shipped to my home.

Amazingly they arrived in a day and a half! I threw them in the back of my van, made an appointment at Walmart for install, and everything went very smoothly. Very happy with the purchase so far. These tires seem much quieter than my Michelin tires.

THESE TIRES ARE EXCELLENT! I had always had Firestone’s on my 1993 F150. Probably at least 5 sets of tires as it has over 300,000 miles on it (uses no oil and runs like a top!). I bought the truck in 1994 and that’s what was on it, so I just stuck with them.

BUT, the Kumho’s were on sale and had great reviews, and my bud had a set on his truck and talked me into it. GLAD HE DID! Better handling and traction as well as less road noise! They are pretty good in the snow, too! I always “spun out” before if the road was wet and I popped the clutch too quikly, not with these TA11’s! Yes, I highly do recommend these tires if you have a truck and I don’t think you’ll be disappointed!.

Tires are great. Mechanic was great, however next day when I went for a re-check on the lug nuts they were going to make me wait for 2 cars ahead of me. These cars were not in the garage and the mechanic only would have had to use a 4 way lug wrench to check them.

No hoist, no in garage time. Less than 5 minutes to do but they just COULDN’T do that. Were going to make me wait probably an hour and a half for a 5 minute job. Sad!!!.

The tires were an exact fit. Wasnt a fan of how they were delivered. There was no notification of the tires on the way or that they were just out on my front porch. They couldve literally got stolen.

Luckily they werent but other than that a perfect fit nevertheless.

2 different tires had belts break in the first year. I purchased the lifetime balance and rotation and road hazard warranty ( Lifetime does not mean lifetime either) Since Walmart does not have the tire in stock I have to order and pay for the the replacement then when it gets here Walmart will determine if they will pay me back for it or if there gonna *!.

Purchased a set of Mastercraft SRT Touring 205/55R16 for my 1997 Subaru OBS. Tires have excellent wet and dry stopping and handling. I use dedicated snow tires in winter but I’m sure these would suffice.

Cornering and handling is predictable. I have purchased Mastercraft tires in the past and have been very happy with them. Would recommend for anyone looking for a a well balanced all season tire. Priority Tire had the best price, even after shipping, compared to a multitude of online and local comparisons.

My Leaf came with the original low rolling resistance tires. They were absolutely impossible on snow and ice. I replaced them with these, the same brand but all season instead. The difference is amazing.

Like night and day. The day after they were mounted we had a snow storm. I went out to test the new tires. They performed like a champ. Absolute control and no slipping. Im so relieved. The ride is sure and smooth and I haven’t noticed any worse mileage.

Bought 4 tires and waited about a month to have them put on. Well, when I was having them mounted one of the tires was defective (around bead area). Had to return it and order another one (at a higher price).

When it arrived I went back to Walmart to have them mounted and balanced. Everything went well until 2 days later my left front tire was almost flat. Took it to my local garage and they couldn’t find any leak.

Two days after that it was low again. Took it to another local garage and after breaking it down off the rim, they found a small defect in the bead again. Ordered another one (because I don’t like mismatched ones) and will take the defective one back to Walmart.

I haven’t driven on them long enough to tell about performance and wear. Not that happy with them at the moment due to defects.

Im not sure how to go about writing this review; however, I have had these tires for over 2 years on my car and a few months ago I took my car for service and my tires were great. Im ordering new ones, because I want new tires just in case we get a big snow this year.

Im not sure if 2 years is the standard timeframe to have tires on your car but it seems long enough for me. Actually it will be 3 years in February. Before I purchase the new ones, I will definitely go to my Honda dealer to check on the tread.

I bought these tires for an old Trailblazer that doesnt have too many years to run. I have never bought off-brand tires before, but for the price and overwhelmingly positive reviews I decided to take a chance.

My only real concern is durability. These tires are not steel belted radials, and they do NOT have a standard treadwear mileage warranty. Thats odd, but they do warranty them for defects. Without any mileage warranty, its hard to compare them to other tires.

However they do have a UTOG treadwear rating of 500, which is better than some 50k tires. There are several positives for these tires so far. First, unlike other off-brand tires, they look good on my truck.

There aren’t big letters screaming Brand X Tires on the sidewall. The tire has an attractive serrated pattern that runs all around the sidewall, with just a small “Westlake” and a “SU318” stamp. In short, its real hard to tell these are off-brand tires.

They give a soft, quiet ride with very good wet and dry traction. Hopefully they will be ok in the snow. So, in closing the only unknown on these tires is how long they will last. Stay tuned.

Put these on my daughters Lexus RX300 Thick sidewalls protect from Curb Rash. Also help in cornering. Had GoodYears on before these are much better. Firmer tire witch is a good thing on a soft 75 series tire.

Helps with cornering performance. More like the factory Michelin tires that came on the Lexus when we first bought the Rx300. Good in rain Ok in snow Great Value tire. These are made by Sumoto tires.

They balance without led on your rims. Runn true and quiet.

In 2015 East tires were recommended to me because I was looking for something inexpensive but worked well. We put a set of four of these tires on my 2002 Saturn SL1 and I have put over 70,000 Mi on these tires, a broken strut, a bad wheel bearing, bad alignment, and a bad drive axle.

but these tires have lasted through all those conditions, granted each condition was fixed almost immediately but because of the safety of these tires, the car was not at risk. I would highly recommend these tires to anybody, and like I said before, I’m putting them on my car again.

I live in Minnesota where snow rated tires are important to me.

My son purchased a 2013 Durango and the Celsius cuv tires were on it. They looked new. Within a week we were traveling from Seattle to L. A. For my father in law’s funeral. I knew nothing about these tires before.

On the trip we put approx 2400 miles on them. They were pretty quiet, and responsive. Even at speeds up to 90 mph. I couldn’t believe they were snowflake rated tires! Would highly recommend them for anyone who needs great tires in almost any condition.

We have done a little bit of driving in the snow and they were good there too. My son did need to replace one, as a result of being run off the road driving in Seattle. It somehow sustained a cut in the sidewall.

He has put over 12k miles on them so far and they show very little wear. His size is 265/50/20. And they are V rated as well. They generally have to be special ordered apparently. They were on the Durango I think, because it came from Canada.

So my daughter’s 2012 Ford Fusion front wheel drive needed tires. The fellow at the tire shop recommended these as an option to avoid swapping winters for summers and having to store tires. So I got 4 and drove home.

The difference was apparent immediaty! Handling and ride comfort was greatly improved and the tires were very quiet. 10k miles later tires are still quiet and feel the same as new. Daughter is a “new” driver and has a job, these tires performed beautifully for her in all conditions even snowy icey roads.

My 3 stars on treadwear are only because the tires aren’t that old yet. Finally! A tire that is great year around! Thank you Toyo! My wife’s 13 Ford Escape will have these tires as well! Wish you made them in truck sizes.

I bought 4 of these tires previously and tore one of them up so had to buy a single. The previous 4 were excellent , but this one makes a slight rumbling noise at speeds above 35. I’ll have to put it on a balancer and see if I can see any out of round problems or if it is a balance problem.

The other 4 were fine as far as balance was concerned. These tires handle decent and take the heavy rain very well so I generally recommend them.

I WAS DISAPPOINTED IT THIS TIRE HANDLES GOOD BUT DOES NOT RIDE VERY GOOD WHEN THEY WERE BALANCED EACH TIRE TOOK 4 1/2 OUNCES TO 6 OUNCES OF WEIGHT SO I DO NOT EXPECT THEY WILL LAST AS LONG AS MY OLD ONES THAT TOOK ONLY 2 OR 1.

75 OUNCES ON EACH TIRE. ( I DO NOT RECOMMEND ).

Hard to find 14″ tires, good enough for my purpose. Quick delivery and decent tire design parameters. Good specifications on traction and temperature ratings (A,,A).
