If you’re looking for a PC in tablet form, without paying full PC prices, this is a great option. Being that it’s a budget product I would not recommend going with the lowest spec’d model but the 8gb ram model has served me very well.

If you are looking for a computer that you can depend on to do intensive tasks, such as heavy gaming or video/photo editing you’re going to have to spend the money on a computer that can handle intensive tasks, simple as that.

If you’re looking for a very mobile pc experience that can handle your general desktop tasks like multi tab browsing, document editing, light multi tasking and light gaming, then this is a fantastic purchase.

I bought mine mostly for work after my chromebook expired, and it runs my software with no hiccups. I browse the internet without worry of too many tabs, and I edit pdfs and word documents. I usually have my reporting software, OneNote, and the internet browser running with multiple tabs all at one time and I never have any issues.

It never freezes up on me, it never feels laggy and the screen resolution looks good. Plus, the addition of the surface Pen is really quite nice. I’ve really enjoyed being able to hand write notes. It’s much easier to hand write then type when you are standing up! When I purchased it had Windows 10, and have since upgraded for free to Windows 11.

I feel that windows 11 is more suited to the 2 in 1/tablet format and I have enjoyed the OS so far. Again, if you’re trying to play call of duty online or any other intensive games, or you are a serious video/photo editor, you really need to spend the money on a more serious unit.

If you want a computer for a fair price that will get your basic tasks done, this is a great choice and I don’t believe it will let you down. I would stay away from the 4gb ram model, and I would change your settings to prioritize performance over battery.

I rarely am using my computer in a location without power accessibility long enough to run out of battery so I’m not concerned with running down the battery on full performance settings. I bought this product with low expectations and I’m very happy about it and I’m very happy I wasn’t scared into spending more money for something I didn’t need.

If you purchase the Pen and Type cover, it can get a little more pricey, however it’s nice that it’s not all bundled together so you have the freedom to spread those purchases out if you’re on a budget! Buy the surface first, get the accessories later and spread out those costs!.

I bought this during the Black Friday sale. I bought it as open box and I’m assuming that the original owner had different expectations when they returned it. I was fully aware of the limitations of it before I bought it, and it will be used as an additional device to throw in my bag.

I am using it for basic MS Office stuff, web browsing, Zoom calls, and movies/TV so I don’t have to take my regular laptop everywhere. It is a fully functional Windows computer, but you really need to think of this as a tablet.

Don’t expect to run multiple resource intensive apps at the same time and expect snappy results. This has a low end Intel processor, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of storage. I got by the storage issues by using a 256GB MicroSD card and taking advantage of cloud storage, but there is no way to upgrade the RAM.

The Pentium Gold processor is fine, but since it is dual core I try to have as few apps running as possible. It doesn’t come with the keyboard, and I highly recommend getting one if you intend on doing any sort of typing.

Windows in S mode does restrict you to using MS Store apps, but you can turn it into regular Windows if you have a need for other software. The cameras are in the center, which is great for Zoom calls.

If you know what you’re getting into by buying the cheapest member of the Surface family, it’s a great deal. There are several different configurations in the Go line, so get the one that suits your needs.

First the good the screen as bright the colors are great and the camera works well for zoom calls and Skype calls. The frame is also high-quality and the kickstand is really great. I was able to get about 6 1/2 hours of playback of YouTube or web browsing at 77% brightness.

The keyboard attachment is top notch as well. Now for the bad. The battery was not the best the most I could get at a decent brightness for 6 1/2 hours but if you do more than one thing at a time the time definitely goes down.

It’s slow. I paid extra for the eight gigs of RAM and the upgraded hard drive hoping this would make a difference but often programs took long to load and the updates took a very long time, like a couple of hours.

Like I say I really wanted to like this and there are some things that are really good but the poor battery life still performance and A AppStore that is poor compared to the competition. Not a great tablet and not a great computer ultimately I returned it and will just use an iPad.

For some time I have meaning to update my kindle as I’ve had it for several years and it’s become really slow. I’ve also watched presentations in the past for the echo dot and wondered if it’s as good as they say.

I caught the Friday night TSV presentation and thought it looked like an amazing deal and it was also on easy pay, which made it more affordable. So I took the plunge and ordered it. I was amazed to receive it within 24 hours, unbelievably fast.

Both devices were very simple to set up and the kindle is a big improvement on my old model in terms of speed and picture quality. The echo is actually better than I thought it would be, great sound for such a small device and lots of useful functions.

News bulletins, loads of great music, sleep meditations, reminders and more besides. I would urge anyone to go for this deal, particularly if they already have an Amazon Prime account. I think everyone would get plenty of usage out of this duo.

My eldest (now 8) got his first Amazon fire tablet when he was almost 4. As he got older it became less usefull because it wasn’t fast enough to run roblox. However, I did have the fire kids attached to it, and I loved all the features, knowing how much time the kids spent on each app, setting rules to read before playing a game etc.

Having the device lock down between certain times. I found these options amazing. Especially with today’s generation if kids with electronics. It’s like their LIFE! well, it’s not but they certainly act like it is haha.

I’d recommend this to anyone with kids looking for a safe and reliable tablet for little kiddos. Side note. amazon is really good about replacing these if they break (which theh will, as they arent very durable, even with a case), so its totally worth buying the protection plan!! I am getting one for niece for Christmas (she’ll be 2 come christmas).

At the price, this is a brilliant little tablet. Really clear screen performance (I confess that I was expecting much less) and quite able to cope with everything from BBC iplayer to paid for content.

There is slight blurring of images, and video content when forwarded or reversed, but this doesn’t affect performance, or unduly interfere with the user experience. Although indoor and low light camera use, both front and back, is not very good, and in the age of Facebook and YouTube I would, to be honest, have expected better from Amazon.

Outdoor and bright light is fine though. In fact, the only issue I have, and it is one caused by Amazon’s policies, is that the entire Google Play content is not available, so no NOW TV, no Epub applications (and very limited PDF) and no Google Drive, where I have most of my content and documents stored.

Having said that, for the price, this is a really quality piece of kit, and I would recommend it for a quick take with you device. Pro’s *Convenient size. *Good screen quality. *Good, and expandable storage.

*Adequate processor for most things. *Seamless Wi-Fi, and fast connections. Con’s *Bad low light camera capabilities. *Limited apps available for download, either through the dedicated Silk browser, and the Amazon store.

*No way to access non Amazon storage apps. *Google Play not supported. (One last, but minor disappointment. The leather look case is black, not coordinating, as I expected).

I own a vinyl decal business and was looking for a machine to do my small projects on. I have a 30in sign plotter but its so big and unnecessary if I’m only cutting a 6 inch decal. Everyone I’ve come across who works with a plotter has really negative things to say about Cricut machines and honestly…I don’t get it.

This machine is awesome! Set up is super easy. You plug it in and Cricut walks you through everything. After everything is set up, you can hook it up wirelessly via Bluetooth which is major for me because I already have tons of cords running everywhere and I’m running out of USB ports.

I wasn’t sure if the presets would actually work but so far they do. I have used the Iron On, Vinyl, and Paper settings with Oracal, StarCraft, and Avery vinyl and it cut perfectly. Everything weeded easily.

I’ve also went into the custom settings and used the sticker paper setting. Again, no issues removing my design from the paper. I was pleasantly surprised. I can’t tell you how nice it is not to have to mess with force, speed, test cuts, and all of that.

You just turn the knob to the setting for whatever materials you are using and presto. I feel like this machine wastes way less vinyl than my plotter because design space tries to put objects as close as possible to save space.

I love the print then cut option too. I used to have to cut my stickers by hand. Now I print them on my printer and then have the Cricut cut them for me. Everything about this machine saves me time. I have seen people complain that you have the pay for the program Cricut Design Space and this isn’t true.

You can still create your own art and use the machine. It’s only 9. 99 a month for the subscription and that gives you a ton of clipart, fonts, templates, etc. It’s worth it. What people don’t realize is that most cut programs are not free…they can cost more than a grand, so the fact that Cricut lets you use Design Space without the subscription is actually very surprising.

The machine is a bit slow with cutting but I can live with that. I am not a huge fan of cutting with a mat but I’ll get used to it. This machine is a lifesaver and I am glad I decided to ignore the Cricut haters in the sign and decal industry and purchase it.

The delivery was speedy. It arrived in its original box via UPS (no bubble wrap or cardboard box from Target) , but the machine seemed fine with the manufacturer packaging. Had the machine did some sophisticated works in the first few trial runs and it performed well.

The Cricut design club-based software is very straightforward and a breeze to use, as I design my own graphics using other program and import into their design space to cut/print – I do need to make a few adjustments to make it to work but it is doable.

There are huge collection of things to download with subscription fee if one wants to save time (it does take time and skills to design your own). The only downside is the default designs/fonts are very limited, so if you are not very artsy, may need to consider the additional subscription fee.

The machine requires a large working area to operate this machine so definitely plan extra space around the machine. As newbie, watching YouTube tutorials prior to trying out the machine definitely help making the first experience fun, saving time and precious card stocks, vinyls, etc.

What an absolute waste of time and money. I have not gotten ONE usable sticker out of the 153 I have printed. The machine always cuts the left side of my sticker off, after five calibrations and the “hardware firmware” reset “trick”.

I made sure my printer wasn’t resizing my prints as well. It isn’t. Also, print then cut changes and completely desaturates my images. My colors are perfect when printing from Photoshop. How much money in materials should I waste? I believe cricut should reimburse me for all the ruined EXPENSIVE materials that have gone in the garbage.

I am infuriated. Their customer service is abysmal as well. two weeks to even receive a canned response and hours waiting on the phone, only to be hung up on. I will literally never purchase another cricut again as long as I live, and I will absolutely be spreading the word.

Completely unacceptable for a $200 machine and $20 mats.

God this will feel good to vent my frustrations. I elected to get the i7, 16gb ram pro 7 model as I wanted a surface that would last and not become frustratingly slow after 2 years like my previous surface pro 4.

Fast forward 1. 5 years and its so. much. slower to operate than day 1. Chrome is sluggish, slow to recognise me on windows hello etc. BUT my number one quarrel with my device is windows 11. DO NOT UPGRADE TO THIS AWFUL operating system- seriously.

It is a quantifiable downgrade from windows 10 by every metric, I hate how the apps are clustered in the middle of the screen on the bottom, makes it more difficult to navigate to home button as you can’t just go all the way to the bottom left and land on it you have to actively aim for it, the actual windows start menu itself looks atrocious! It look’s like it is an interns beta prototype! The side menu on the right hand side is gone and now, needlessly, split into two different sections, the calander and the device info section.

and don’t even get me started on the calendar- now, you cannot and i repeat cannot open up the side menu, navigate to a day on the calendar widget, and then add an event to that day. You have to open up the calendar app, waste time waiting for it to open and then add events that way, I can’t tell you how annoying this has been when uni professors spout off important dates as a I wait for the calendar app to open after forgetting that windows 11 got rid of this very, very necessary feature.

Unbelievable. Heuristically, Windows 11 has completely and utterly failed at the most basic requirements of good UI design. I use my computer far less nowadays because of windows 11, because of how bad a taste it consistently leaves me with.

If i discovered a genie bottle in the wild, one of my wishes would be to have windows 10 on my laptop again. The surface itself is fine honestly, good quality build and excellent screen (but jeez, for the money it is not worth it), just suffers from the terrible software unfortunately.

Surface devices have always struck me as overpriced and lagging behind in tech features versus other Windows 2-in-1s, not to mention Android or iOS tablets. I would never have considered this device were it not deeply discounted.

I even tried using a Surface Go at one point, and the Pentium chip in it was a huge let-down. This one has been an entirely different experience. The 11th gen i3 has not skipped a beat. Everything is smooth and snappy.

I have a big heavy gaming laptop for games and work, but I’m now convinced that this could be my everyday workhorse. Just plug in a USB-C hub at your desk and you’re good to go. You could even do a little casual gaming here – despite some confusion in the product info, this does have the new Iris Xe graphics (confirmed in Device Manager), not the useless old Intel HD stuff.

The display is crisp and bright. It may not be 120 Hz or OLED, but you won’t feel like you’re missing much once you start using it. This version also has a replaceable SSD in case you find yourself running low on space.

The Surface Pen (not included but can be found affordably as open-box or refurb) is also a top-notch writing experience. The iPad has definitely caught up in recent years software-wise, but the Surface pen just feels so much better touching and moving across the screen, and the eraser tip on the other end is a nice touch.

OneNote is still king for free note-taking apps. I always enjoyed Windows 10 well enough, and I’ll miss the live tiles, but 11 really does bring a lot of nice little changes for touch-based use. The new widgets are probably more useful than the live tiles anyway.

You’ll probably find everything you need comes with Windows or is available in the Windows Store at this point, but if not, Windows 11 now supports Android apps, so once the Amazon app store is fully populated you’ll have options there in case something you love on your phone isn’t available for Windows.

You also get the full flexibility of installing whatever you need from the massive amount of Windows software out there. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can even install the Google Play store. I hate to say it, but I think Microsoft has me convinced, and I might stick around for awhile.

Between the integration with Android phones, the built-in Android app support, Windows Ink, Microsoft 365, and all the flexibility and legacy of Windows software, I finally feel like I have an alternative to being locked in to Apple where I’m not missing out, both for personal and professional use.

If, like me, you grew up using Microsoft software, but were drawn away as they fell behind Apple and Google in the mobile-first era, I think you’ll find enough to love here to come back and give them another shot.

For the price, it is a very good portable machine that allows having a tablet and a laptop in one compact package. Pros: The screen is very good. You won’t find a display of such quality in any other Windows laptop under $1000, let alone for $699.

It is also light and relatively comfortable to hold even with one hand. The keyboard is surprisingly good for an attached keyboard, with good travel and comfortable typing. 11th gen Core i5 in paired with 8Gb of RAM makes all basic operations fluid and doesn’t annoy with freezes or stuttering.

There is no fan, which might be positive for one and negative for another. It definitely throttles when under heavy load and gets noticeably hotter. So no, it is not a powerhouse. But being fanless means it is completely silent.

Cons: The traditional laptop is going to provide a better “laptop” experience though, especially when used on the lap. The configuration of the tablet with a stand + attachable keyboard doesn’t make a stable combo on the lap.

And for a tablet, Windows provides an experience inferior to Android and iPad OS. it doesn’t feel as snappy as tablet OSs. I was hoping to use it for note-taking, and I heard a lot of good things about using Surface for One Note.

But I was disappointed with the pen performance, specifically with its very noticeable lag. In the end, I decided to return and go with a laptop and a tablet. I still liked the Surface a lot, the device itself.

It is just you really have to get used to the device and change your habits and accept the not-ideal laptop/tablet experience for getting a convenience of 2-in-1.

I bought this for personal use and the occasional business project. I’ve done 2 different projects so far and am really pleased with the performance. It is fast, accurate and gives very professional results.

It is relatively easy to use with the Cricut Design app but I found that it works better in some projects than others. The Design space is not entirely intuitive and my first project was very frustrating to set up.

I needed the cuts to be in very specific places on the sheet but the Design Canvas seems to try and maximize space on the sheet which changed some of my cut placements. I was using the Cricut mat and my own paper instead of the smart materials.

I finally found a happy medium with the layout and got very good results. My next project used the 9′ Iron On roll. My project used the entire roll and did a great job in a single cutting job. I got fantastic results – especially with my layout knowledge from the first project – and I was really pleased with the machine.

I would highly recommend the Cricut Maker 3 for it’s speed, versatility and results. I have been very pleased so far and my only complaints would be difficulty in layout, how quickly the Cricut Cutting Mats need to be replaced and the fact that I didn’t know that you had to pay for the use of any fonts in the Design Space.

I’ve used this a few times to cut vinyl and have been very impressed with how well it cuts. I made a replica of the LA skyline but replaced the buildings with my friends names and stuck it around a glass candle bowl as a gift to a friend who was leaving town and I couldn’t believe it managed to cut palm trees on the skyline which had trunks which were literally the same size as this letter I.

BTW transfer paper allows you to take off and place stickers perfectly. I’m new to the cutting world and super excited as I also found a color printer for $60 on ebay so now I can laser print in color and cut on all kinds of materials! I can’t talk about the previous versions, however this one is very good.

I’d guess the version 2 would also be very good if you are on a budget as the quality of this model suggests the previous one would also be great. Walmart has a bunch of materials you can browse too if you want stuff today.

TIP: In the software, use the Pin function to stick everything on the visual board – I learned this in a YouTube and so glad I saw it because then it prints exactly where and how you imagine (it’s bottom right on the icons).

This $399 base model Surface Go 3 is MUCH faster than its predecessors, thanks to the new Pentium Gold processor in it this year, which processor some reviewers have compared to the Core m3 in the original Surface Go and in the Go 2.

Rumor has it that new upgraded Core i3 in the top end Go 3 is a battery hog, but this might be fixed in future software updates to Windows 11 (my Pentium Gold version does fine with 80% brightness, streaming Netflix or Prime or YouTube).

My entry level Chromebooks used to feel faster on the web than my first gen Surface Go. This new base model Surface Go 3 is now faster than them, plus it “does Windows”. So far as I can tell, the 4gb of RAM and use of less-expensive eMMC storage in this base model doesn’t hold the Go 3 back; however 64gb isn’t much to work with.

The Go 3 base model only has about 30gb free after you boot it up. I can work with that, but that comes from having to work with earlier entry level Windows laptops with only 32gb of total storage! If you choose either the 64gb or 128gb models, I highly recommend a subscription to the personal edition of Office 365, which comes with 1tb (one terrabyte) of Microsoft OneDrive cloud storage and automatically moves your content to the cloud, with a local storage option for files you need to work on inflight etc.

Otherwise, at least get a Micro SD card and change your file storage location to the card after to install it. All the video streaming apps I use are in the Microsoft Store, except HBO Max. So they work without a hitch.

HBO Max stutters for me unless I “intall” the web page I’ve opened it into as an “app”, from within the Edge browser’s drop down menu in the upper right hand corner. Just web search for “install web page as an app” and you should get some guidance.

One I did this, HBO Max ran perfectly. YouTube is also much improved, in controls not quality, when “installed as an app”, give it a try. I’m currently experimenting running my Go 3 in S mode, but every other time I’ve gotten a device in S mode I’ve quickly opted into regular Windows mode.

I don’t think S mode is really safer, or faster, but it DOES impose some “training wheels” that might keep a beginning Windows user out of trouble – and also tends to save space. I will probably rather quickly tire of S mode, but I want to give a real try, for once.

We get 5gb of OneDrive storage for free, which is a ton of Word documents and Excel spreadsheets, but you will definitely want a Micro SD card installed if you download a lot of Prime or Netflix videos.

Videos are a lot bigger than docs and spreadsheets! Finally, there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING in this price range from any other computer maker that is as well designed and carefully built as this Surface Go 3.

This really rivals the iPad! Plus, it has that really handy built-in, free kickstand, which allows easy use of many more keyboard options than the OEM Type Cover and the third party “clones” like Inateck, chich snap-on like the Type Cover, but run on Bluetooth instead of through a direct electrical connection (POGO).

If you think of this as the “only iPad that runs Windows” you might not be far from the truth.

Microsoft Surface GO 3 Pentium Gold 8 GB RAM, 128 GB SSD w/ Windows 11 S. Based on my previous experience with tablet screen keyboards Android, Windows Surface and Chromebook tablets for me adding a Bluetooth or detachable hardware keyboard was a very good decision.

While I waited for the Surface Go 3 to arrive I ordered a Microsoft Surface Go Signature Type cover and used it during the research for this review. When the Surface GO 3 was unpacked I was impressed with the build quality.

The chassis is aluminum with plastic around the power and volume controls and the front and rear cameras with only a hairline space between metal and plastic. The weight of the 10. 5 inch Surface GO 3 at about 19 oz.

is heavier than the 10. 1-10. 5 inch Android tablets my family has but is a couple oz. lighter than the 11 inch Android tablets I see entering the market. My Surface GO 3 Windows 11 S configuration after a number of Windows updates with the default applications installed and Netflix and Hulu streaming entertainment apps has 83.

2GB of the 128 GB SSD drive remaining free. On my system with the power mode set at the Windows 11 “recommended” setting battery drain is 10% an hour while web streaming video from Hulu or Netflix. This setting yields 8 hours of runtime until “battery saver mode” engages at the 20% battery level.

When the Surface is performing other tasks like “system updates” judging from the way the tablet warms up compared to streaming video battery drain is significantly faster. My Surface GO 3 still has it’s Windows 11 in the S configuration so far I have been very satisfied with the applications available in the S version although there is a learning curve to the unfamiliar applications.

I am impressed with the design, quality and lightweight of the Surface GO 3 and with all the available accessories available for it. But each component is expensive and as you add accessories and approach the functionality of a laptop you may find you have spent more than a larger and heavier but more capable laptop costs.

I recommend the Microsoft Surface GO 3 to my friends and relatives.

The Microsoft Surface Go 3 with the just released new Windows 11 make a surprisingly good team and add up to pretty good tablet overall. Note that the Go 3 is using Windows 11 in “S mode” which only allows the use of apps obtained from the Microsoft Store, so if you will need other apps you must switch to Windows 11 Home (or Windows 11 Pro at extra cost.

) I plan to leave the Go in S mode, but the option will be available if my plans change. My initial impressions of the Go 3 are that it is a well made device and it arrived in perfect condition with no physical flaws that I can find.

I like the size, weight and overall feel of the device. It powered on quickly and arrived with a 50% charge, and of course downloaded the latest updates and the initial set up was easy. In my use, which consists of web browsing, video watching, listening to music, browsing through my photos and other basic tasks I got about 5 hours of screen on time, with about 30 hours of stand-by (which caused a minimal power drain) before the device powered off.

This is a below average battery life in my opinion, and is this device’s major drawback. Charge time from zero to full charge was about 2 1/2 hours using the included Microsoft Connect charger. The Go 3 is capable of charging via the USB C port, and I used a 45 watt charger and got a full charge in just over 2 hours.

A zero to 50% charge took about 70 min versus 40 min with USB C charger. I would rate the screen as very good. It is bright, crisp and has good viewing angles. The dual front-firing speakers are very good as well.

The inclusion of a headphone jack and Micro SD card slot, which are rapidly disappearing in most devices, is very much appreciated. As for general performance, the Go 3 is good, but slightly laggy, and jittery when browsing photos, or websites with a lot of photo content.

I am not a gamer so I can’t really comment on that aspect. In summary I like the Surface Go 3 quite a lot and I think it is a capable tablet. If you are looking for a device to replace a laptop, I would recommend looking at the Surface Pro model, but if you want a good tablet experience, the Surface Go 3 is a fine choice.

Microsoft released the 1st Gen Surface Pro X in 2019. I was intrigued by the sleek new fanless design, sharp PixelSense display, always-on connectivity, Slim Pen, and battery life so I bought one. However, I found the device to be too cumbersome based on all the software incompatibility issues at the time.

Fast forward a bit and we now have the 2021 model. I’m surprised that very little on the hardware has changed. In fact, it is the exact chip I previously had which is a bit disappointing when you consider the amazing power and efficiency Apple has accomplished with its M1 ARM processors recently.

This new version basically denotes that it comes with Windows 11, as most of everything else remains unchanged. One change I would have expected is an upgrade to 5G but instead cellular functionality was removed from the base model entirely.

Huh? With a mobile-class CPU and the LTE option, the Surface Pro X made a lot more sense for more people. Yes, they’ve knocked the price down a bit for this omission, but with so little changes the price should have come down naturally without making any concessions.

Having mobile-like always-on cellular connectivity in such a compact package was a fair compromise to the app compatibility and performance issues you might encounter. To make matters worse, since the chip has not been updated for this year you are stuck with Wifi 5 when other premium tablets have moved on to Wifi 6.

As far as the physical device itself, the Pro X is still sleek and certainly premium, but this same design has now been adopted by the Surface Pro 8 lineup which is a much more powerful tablet. The Surface Pro 8 also got a 120hz display option which is missing here.

Despite these downsides we do now have Windows 11, which greatly improves but doesn’t completely solve the app compatibility problem. The Qualcomm designed Microsoft SQ1 System on a Chip (SoC) in this tablet is basically what you would find in an Android phone – just supercharged a bit.

Applications that are built for the ARM64 architecture are going to perform at their best, while Intel-based applications (x86 or x86_64) will have to be emulated, which results in slower performance and chews more battery.

For example, if you like to use Google Chrome as your default browser, you may be disappointed to know they do not currently offer a version of it compiled for ARM. Windows 11 will emulate it and for the most part it’ll look, feel, and behave just like Chrome but the pre-installed Microsoft Edge is going to outperform it every time because it is a native ARM app.

Despite all that said, there’s still a lot that you CAN do with this machine. Apps that work great on mobile phones will work nicely here provided the developers have created a version for ARM. Minecraft works wonderfully on this device even though this isn’t a gaming machine.

On the flip side, the Epic Games Store will not run at all. This is how life is with the Surface Pro X. You are completely reliant on the developers of your favorite apps to support the Windows on Arm platform.

Microsoft has made some great advancements here such as making ARM applications and dev kits more accessible for developers, their own apps like Office and Teams compatible, and convincing heavy hitters such as Adobe to make their apps like Photoshop native.

However, there’s always the risk the app you want to run can only be emulated and you may find it to feel sluggish or slow, or not run at all. At the time of this review you need to be on a Windows Insider Preview beta build to run Android apps (from the Amazon Appstore) and there are very few available, but I can verify it does work and will likely get better over time.

Battery life will vary greatly depending on what you are doing. The Snapdragon is most efficient when running native ARM apps that are compiled for Windows. If you’re using Microsoft Edge and Office you will likely see very close to the advertised 15 hours.

However, if you are using ANY 32-bit or 64-bit Intel apps the battery life will suffer as these applications have to be emulated. It’s great that you can charge it via USB-C and in fact I haven’t even removed the Surface charger out of the box.

It is a great tablet that works fine for anyone who wants something lightweight to use for notes, web browsing, streaming, reading, listening to music, etc. It doesn’t have a fan, it doesn’t get hot.

However, now being two years old I don’t feel it is a great value considering the quirks you may encounter with the ARM architecture and the lack of LTE/5G. It’s too close in price to the Surface Pro 8, which is more powerful and now shares the same design.

I still recommend it but can’t help but feel that next years iteration is going to be the huge 2nd gen upgrade I was hoping for.

If I were a high school or college student, if I were starting out in my career and needed a good workhorse laptop that I could trust to do my daily work, or if I was looking to replace an older, clunkier, heavier laptop, this would be my computer of choice.

The Surface Pro series has been a welcome addition to our family: my son’s first school computer was a Surface Pro 7 and it was so versatile that it’s the device we all lean on a bit in our house for different things.

The new Surface Pro 8, especially in combination with the keyboard with slim pen is almost the perfect computer/tablet combo. I say almost perfect because the kickstand is still the thing that gives me the most grief and most utility at the same time.

Don’t let that stop you. just saying that if you arrive at the Surface Pro 8 without having seen/felt/tested it at Best Buy first, and your expectations are that it’s going to sit nicely on your lap as you bingewatch your favorite show on the couch – you’re going to have a bit of a wakeup.

On a desk or lap desk, hands-down, it’s an amazing experience. You can shift it, adjust it, etc. angles less than 90-degrees are a bit trickier because there’s no hinged keyboard — this is most noticeable when your kiddos get squirmy during homeschool and the whole thing slams shut – so there’s still something to be desired there.

As an aside: this is something of a forced dichotomy in the Microsoft Surface family. The Surface Book is detachable but too heavy to be a serious tablet, and there’s nothing to do with the base/keyboard when detached, and also presents an awkward profile when closed.

The Surface Laptop doesn’t have a rear-facing camera, so despite solving the hinge issue, you still lose functionality. anyone with kids in hybrid (virtual at home/part-time homeschool) recognizes the need for a rear-facing camera for turning in assignments.

What’s really clear is that Microsoft has done a TON of work to provide very specific markets with very specific tools and very specific workflows and when your workflow and functionality needs line up with the device, it’s magical.

The Surface Pro 8 is super light, charges very quickly, and seems to have decent battery life even while video conferencing at high brightness. The thunderbolt ports are a nice addition. The screen is very bright and clear, the built-in speakers are clear and deliver good range on music and shows or even just your Zoom chat with David from HR.

The bezels are very thin for a laptop of this size, to the point where accessing the slim pen sometimes triggers the touchscreen – though this is mostly an affect of big fingers. The touchscreen is accurate and responsive (especially when in notes mode with the slim pen), and taking notes is a pure joy (yes, even compared to an iPad Pro + Apple Pen setup).

Make no mistake, though: you absolutely want the keyboard and pen. As a tablet, it’s a fine device, but it really shines with a keyboard attached. While 256GB of storage is nowhere near enough to tackle serious projects and surely requires augmentation from external drives, 16GB of memory seems to serve this particular setup well and the Intel Evo i7 delivers when it comes to games (I tested using Minecraft Dungeons).

The Windows 11 experience is zippy launching any of the big Office365 suite products. Audio editing in Reaper seemed to work really well and the Adobe suite ran as expected. My previous experience with the pen + touchscreen combo inside Illustrator on the Surface Book was matched here: it’s every bit as delightful to design/draw directly on the Surface Pro (though depending on how MUCH or how LONG you need to draw, you may want the non-slim version of the pen).

OneNote really lives up to its potential here. On the software front: Windows 11 + Office365 + OneDrive (or if you prefer, Dropbox) is just so slick. Everything about getting stuff done on the Surface Pro 8 is optimized.

Within 15 minutes of unboxing, I had my entire productivity suite ready to roll and everything I needed ready to go to do serious work. The new features for gridding out your desktop (that is: you move an app window to one edge and Windows pops up with options for how to lay out the other open apps) and even just hovering over the “Maximize” button giving you options to segment your screen.

I just love it. The redesigned Windows menu will be familiar enough to folks coming from iOS and the functionalities that Windows gives you with the Windows key combos are wonderful timesavers. Having a built-in copy/paste history is a godsend, screenshots, settings, dictation, search.

so many useful things at the press of two keys. Overall: I’ve gleefully added the Surface Pro 8 to my tech lineup. It’s a versatile, useful device that screams productivity, and thanks to the advent of the slim pen and keyboard combo, adding the creativity in is a joyful experience.

It’s rare that (outside of a maxed out, fully LED-kitted gaming machine) a computer can inspire joy, but Microsoft may have hit the winning combo here of great software, powerful hardware, great physical form, and useful accessories all in one device.

At the time of buying the iPad Air, there was not enough of a difference for me to justify buying the iPad Pro 2020. However when the iPad Pro M1 came out, I began to second guess my purchase. However, at the time I was enjoying the iPad Air and wasn’t experiencing any reason to take back the iPad Air and make an exchange.

When I started using the iPad Air for work that is when my needs changed and my wants. Everything about the iPad Air is great, do not get me wrong. Just that I had the MacBook Air M1, and still do, and Apple silicone in it is great.

It made me start to think though, what would the experience be like when having the M1 in an iPad? I ended up taking the iPad Air back just in time and exchanged it for the iPad M1 11 inch. I had the 12.

9 iPad Pro 2018 for the longest time, but found myself wanting the smaller 11inch because the size was just right for my needs. The smaller size is just much more portable, I didn’t need the upgraded display nor the extra price tag.

After making my exchange, I saw what I had been missing from owning the iPad Air 2020. I do enjoy Face ID over using my fingerprint, especially when I am using the iPad as a desktop computer. I also enjoy gaming on my iPad more now especially the 120z display.

Also I use the iPad for work, and with the M1 chip I don’t have to worry about any work I throw at it. I love what Microsoft has done with its apps for the iPad. It’s a world of a difference from what it was like when Microsoft’s office apps were first offered in the App Store.

You can now have multiple spreadsheets open now in excel, and that goes for PowerPoint as well. I like their approach used in the navigation bar compared to its desktop cousin version. I feel the menu system in the iPad version is organized better and I can actually find the right tools for what I need to do.

Because my work now uses teams, its a breeze to share documents and files over the 24MB. I don’t mind the black bars on my display when using an external monitor, after a while I don’t even notice them.

My recommendation, if you are only using the iPad for personal use and you want to use the updated Magic accessories and slightly bigger screen I would buy the Air. However, if you want a more capable, slightly even bigger screen, faster and you plan on using the Microsoft Office suite a lot, then I would buy the Pro; and of course if you plan on being a content creator or influencer on YouTube ;).

This is the first Apple product I have purchased. I expected top notch quality based on the feedback from people I know with Apple products, and Apple’s reputation they have created precedes them. I only switched to an iPad from an Android one for Adobe Fresco and Illustrator and Procreate since none of them are available on the Android platform.

The Apple Pencil was a consideration vs. competitors as well, but not a deal breaker as I’m fine with other pens. The first iPad I got had a speck of dust between the glass and screen. It was barely noticeable when the screen was on, but I finally decided to return it because I didn’t know if it would create a problem, especially with pressure sensitivity–which that in itself is important for drawing.

Best Buy of course swapped it out no problem when I showed them. The associate I got said he had never seen that before. (However, discussion boards are littered with stories of the same, I have now found.

) We opened the second iPad right then and there and both looked over the screen. Seemingly now problems. When I got home, I looked at it under brighter lighting and discovered a small scuff. Oh well, I thought.

I then tried out the Apple Pencil, and it would not drag smoothly across the screen except in a few small spots. It was almost like hitting fine sandpaper. It wasn’t the tip because it’s new for one, and two, the smooth and rough spots were in the exact same spots every time.

I ultimately decided to keep the one I had and not try again. Partially due to the hassle of it all, and partially because I will always have a glass screen protector on it anyway. (The cheap big box store one I got glides smoothly.

go figure. ) If Adobe ever brings Illustrator back to Android and brings Fresco over, I will be switching back to my go-to brand. Four cheap one expensive tablet, and 5 phones later, I only ever had an issue with one phone.

I’m 2 for 2 with Apple. Search “iPad dust under screen” and “iPad pencil not smooth” or “iPad rough glass” and see what you find before buying, lest you think this is a hoax review. It’s not just post-2020 situation stuff either.

We’ve had iPhones for years and been happy with them. And have briefly used the kids’ iPads who swear by them. An incentive to buy one ourselves was brought about by our frequent skyping with family back east previously done on the phone.

What a world of difference. We decided on the Air model with 64GB over the regular iPad 10. 2-inch because it’s noticeably thinner, the screen is bigger and some of the internals, etc are a big cut above.

The iPad Air has been called the Pro-Light and it essentially is from our comparisons in the store. 64GB is more than enough storage space unless you’re dropping tons of pictures, videos, movies, apps and whatnot on the thing.

We’re not. This device is a delight; easy to use, already loaded with stuff/apps right out of the box, fast, great graphics, decent camera, terrific HD screen and sound, responsive, connects seamlessly to wifi, and syncs nicely with the iPhone if you have one and want to do that.

You can use wireless earbuds of course, and your wired will work also but a small $10 jack adapter is needed for the lightning size wire. So far we have zero complaints. We didn’t buy a keyboard or pencil, only a nice high-end cover-case.

But finger action on-screen as with your phone is direct, clean, effortless as it is with a phone. Highly recommended device.

I have not used my Cricut yet. I am anxious to get to use it I had planned on getting the cricut JOY because of it’s size. After a few weeks of research, I found out the Cricut JOY is limited to what it can do.

Unfortunately, it wouldn’t do the one thing I wanted to do. So I did “much” research and I decided the Explore Air2 was perfect for me It is twice the size (of what I wanted) but it will do everything I want to do.

After months of using a premium tablet, spending less than 24-hours with a budget 2020 10-generation Amazon Fire HD tablet and already started to be making a return request usually that $100+ investment does not provide the value and user-experience I was hoping for.

With this being my first time having a hand on experience with a Fire-OS device, having to make compromise when using the device like avoiding using the tablet as a social media machine or play any graphic intensive games.

With my true intention of picking up the device that I can use TikTok and able to remove the app from my Apple devices – iPhone and iPad Pro -. With the device only come with 2-giga bytes of memory and 4-core CPU, I notice that the video is leggy and when trying to scroll through the discover page is buggy.

After install the latest update, I don’t notice any improvement since the device is based on the old very dated version of Android. Not to say this isn’t a bad choices for kids with the age of 8 and below since it has basic power for light gaming and casual streaming for a professional digital marketer like myself, there are better choices “like the 2021 Amazon Fire HD Plus 10.

This is a really great tablet for the price, I see all the reviews complaining about the lack of Google apps, but you can actually sideload the required Google. apk files or use the Fire Toolbox app on a Windows PC with the tablet connected to the PC to get the Play Store.

after you get the Play Store, this is the best tablet you can get in this price range. The battery life is excellent with my usage (web browsing, watching YouTube, etc. ). The performance is acceptable and there is no lag with basic usage, although it really lags with heavier mobile games, so I wouldn’t recommend gaming on this (Streaming Cloud Games works well though, over Xbox Cloud or Stadia).

the display is an IPS display so the viewing angles are great (IPS display is rare in this price range) and the resolution is acceptable and good for watching YouTube videos or steaming shows & movies.

The speakers sound acceptable for Streaming music or watching videos, the speakers also support Dolby Atmos. there is expandable microSD storage that can be used for apps & games, 32GB is good for me but for those who need more, you can expand with a microSD card.

There is a 3. 5mm headphone jack & Bluetooth 5. 0 for external speakers or headphones/earphones. The camera is horrible though so don’t bother taking photos with this, this is expected for a device in this price range though.

Overall, this is the best tablet you can get in this price range. I highly recommend this tablet if you’re on a budget (If you have an infinite budget, there are lots of significantly better options).

Cannot use Google or any of its apps, not even through the browser. My children needed this for school as a reader, and take notes or write via Google docs, as well as a few other study apps. I was able to download Google Drive, but can only view certain documents there, not edit anything.

Also it is a third party app, which I’m not comfortable giving them my password and login info. A thorough internet search led me to discover the only possible way to edit any document is to download individual documents directly to the tablet, then download back on to the computer.

I thought the purpose of the tablet is to take it on the go and avoid the desktop. App Store is clunky, very limited apps & inconvenient as well which I’m guessing explains the cheap price tag because if they want it to run well without glitches they need as little software running as possible.

If you love Amazon & want only Amazon related content, including adds all the time, then it is a nice little cheap device. We decided on the Samsung Lite tablet instead.

I purchased this to annotate technical papers and store my reference text books for work. Having figures in color and the ability to highlight in difference colors, annotate, and write and sketch notes is invaluable.

My eyes get tired staring at a computer for so many hours a day, and this little book is a lifesaver for both space (goodbye, giant binders and texbooks!) and computer headaches. I have to provide annotated versions of documents to renew several of my credentials, and this is a great tool for making those electronic annotated documents without being trapped at my desk for even longer hours.

The portability is wonderful, I love having the option to read in the park. The stylus connects firmly (tip down only). I already dropped this from lap height into hardwood floor- the screen did not break.

What I love: The colors are quite nice (YSK: the color palette is overall muted- no saturated or vibrant color options). The search feature, page turn speed, zoom, moving around the page, organization,and notebooks are EXCELLENT and intuitive.

Customization of tools- which ones appear in what order and where- is a very nice feature. It’s very fast and easy to add or remove papers and texts by WiFi. It is legible outside on a sunny day (at least in the northeast), and the battery life is fantastic – lasts me days.

I would change: I wish the screen were a little larger, and that there was a way to flip between a notepad and a PDF to take notes in a notepad (one can always write/highlight directly to the PDF, or flip between two PDF documents, but not a notebook and a PDF).

The pen cap doesn’t hook into the back of the stylus; I’ve already lost it. When the unit gets hot, greyish specs appear in the background of the book and there is some ghosting effect, but these disappear when the unit cools down and restarts.

Overall, a great little device. I highly recommend it for technical experts who spend a lot of time reading and annotating documents.

There are plenty of long reviews of this device so I will keep to a few specifics. Firstly it is worth saying this is not a normal colour tablet, it is not a normal eInk ereader. It is slower than a tablet and it does not have a screen that comes anywhere near to the colour display of a tablet or the contrast of a normal ereader but it does have a screen that allows reading material when in sunlight with colour making it almost unique.

I bought this looking for a device to read books, emails, and the newspaper outside because I hate trying to do that on conventional devices with the light turned up to max. This ereader/Tablet is much faster than an older Boox device that I had.

It allows me to see the screen in the sun, it has a good battery life compared with a tablet but less good when compared with a Kindle. I am very happy with it. BUT it is not the best device to use as a simple ereader for books.

There are a few reasons quoted but the most important is is because the screen is very dark unless there is a lot of ambient light so the front light has to be used when inside (but I use a normal tablet inside !).

So in summary the device allows me to do something I could not do before which is read in the sun ! The colour means that instead of shades of grey in a normal einkdisplay there are colour contrasts making it much easier to read magazines, newspapers, web based material it does nothing to help reading a book !!!!.

I’m very happy with this product. It is compact and light, works well, and the battery lasts very well. Getting the play store to work to a little time waiting for the confirmation to come through, but once done there are so many great apps that can be installed.

I use this to read books I have with boox but also with three other ebook stores I used over the years. The screen is clear and colourful, I find I need to leave the front light active at a low level, but even with this the battery performance is great.

The included poem works well for note taking or sketching, and the results can by sent to various cloud storage providers as pdf. Very happy overall, would buy again.

I just received this refurbished iPad yesterday. I have never been so disappointed in a purchase from anywhere. This was a gift for my grandson and now he is disappointed. The iPad does not hold a charge or it does not recognize when it’s charged.

When I received it I expected it to be charged a little but it would not open. As soon as I put it on the charger, it was ready to open with a 40% charge. I went ahead and let it charge to 100% but when I tried to set it up it died.

I plugged it in and after a few minutes it acted like it was ready, but no, it died again. It works a little longer if it’s plugged in while you’re using it but it still shuts down and you have to re-enter your password.

I am beyond frustrated because wanted to give this to my grandson and of course it’s ineligible for return. It’s also scratched on the back but I can deal with that. Just because it’s refurbished and cost less than a new iPad, it still expect it to work properly.

The iPad screen cracked on the upper left corner of the screen during operation. While continuing to use the iPad, the crack spread all across the screen. Mainly staying on the left hand side. I have owned several iPads and never witnessed a screen crack under these normal conditions.

The screen even has a protective cover and this still happened. The iPad is in a well designed protective case. I can not explain how this occurred but it is what it is. The iPad still operates as it should with the cracked screen, but continues to spread.

My last iPad was left on top of a vehicle and took a 55mph impact. It cracked the screen but didnt damage the imaging screen. It also still functioned as it should. I bought this one to replace my original iPad because the screen was cracked.

This iPad screen lasted about 3 days and for reasons I cant explain.

I ordered this iPad for my son for Christmas. I charged it when I received it to set everything up. I had it on the charger the whole time I was setting it up. When I was finished, I took it off the charger, put it in the box and wrapped it up.

When he opened it on Christmas he turned it on, but it was dead already after being fully charged. We’ve had issues with it ever since. It will not hold a charge! It goes to 100% very quick. But is dead within 15-20 mins! A few times it would not charge at all! It said it was charging but wouldn’t actually charge (if that makes sense).

I’ve contacted the seller twice through email and have gotten no reply back. I filed a return through Walmart and they gave me a return label to send it back! So that’s what I did! It’s been a week and still haven’t heard a word! So disappointing since it was the one thing my son wanted for Christmas! I need a return so I can buy him a new one.

There’s absolutely no way that it should have gotten sent to me wi the battery life being like that. I’m not one to write bad reviews, or any reviews for that matter. But when I pay $300 for something, it should work!.

I have wanted a Cricut for ages and finally but the bullet and bought the Explore 3 last week. We have to pay to have work t shirts printed and vinyl signs printed but not anymore! The young lady at Hobbycraft was lovely, we were on our way to buy a machine at another store but thought would pop into Hobbycraft on the way to check out their pricing.

The staff were very knowledgeable and friendly and showed us all the machines available and their features etc. She was genuinely interested and made us feel comfortable. We left to go to the other store and spoke to the man in there who obviously didn’t have a clue, he didn’t even know what the machines did! So after a couple of minutes we left there and straight back to Hobbycraft and bought the Explore 3 and an armful of vinyl! I have enjoyed playing about with the cricut and joined all the Facebook pages with lots of advice, watched loads of Barbara Makers videos on YouTube and feel confident with it now.

I have printed a few new work t shirts and loads of signs! Looking at making Christmas presents now! Love my machine and love Hobbycraft.

The cricut maker 3 is exactly what I wanted from a multi-purpose die cut machine. Already owned a Cricut Joy that is a wonderful little machine but the maker does a lot more and can cut a lot more materials from vinyl to leather to wood.

It also cuts very quickly and effortlessly; allowing for less time cutting and more time crafting! I love how intuitive and easy it is to use. Combined with a Cricut Access subscription. It is the perfect machine for the serious crafter/ small business owner!.

The surface go is amazing for what it is. I am a student who exchanged my Macbook 12 inch, and i picked up the surface go as the Macbook just didn’t have the features I truly needed. First of all, the ultra portable form factor is awesome, and I also bought the keyboard cover and pen to go along with it and it works much better than I had expected it to work.

My desktop is what I use for speed, power, and gaming so my expectations for this little thing weren’t too high, but in high performance mode it runs very well. Using the windows ink features with the surface pen has so far made things easier for me in the classroom and I am taking digital notes for the first time in my life.

The drawing features and highlighting tools really do make productivity tools feel fresh and it is like I am learning something new within windows for the first time in a while. It just feels like I have more options to do my work than the macbook ever allowed me to have.

This device IS NOT for everybody. Do not buy it if you expect it to run any games or any other super heavy workloads. It is perfect for someone else like me, who wants something ultra portable and decently fast for the price, while still being a very high quality product.

There are quite a bit of wires to contend with but, in my opinion, these are the best speakers for a computer setup, and setup is easy. Connecting a cell phone or anything else is also easy. And nowadays, you can find a little device that plugs in to 3.

5mm headphone jacks that has bluetooth on it, enabling you to turn almost anything into a bluetooth speaker. I just say that because it used to be a deal breaker for me if the speakers didn’t have bluetooth.

And they aren’t very expensive. Surely if you can afford these, that shouldn’t be a problem. Unless you’re like me, and were only able to get these speakers thanks to financing through Klarna. Which, good move by you guys, in partnering with Klarna.

I originally had the iPad 7th gen Wi-Fi only 32 GB model, so getting this iPad with 265 GB of storage and cellular connectivity was awesome. Verizon’s network works wonderful on my iPad. I have LTE signal everywhere I go and it is fast.

I have had no issues with my iPad and it works great.

Extremely disappointed by this product. I ordered it online on July 8 and received it on July 14. By the time I got the product, this was 6 days after the purchase. About a week later, the product just stopped working.

This was right after the 14-day return policy. Because of this, I can not get a refund or any assistance in repairs from Best Buy. I am upset because 1) I was sold a product that does not work at all and 2) I can’t receive a refund because the 14-day return policy is based on the purchase date, rather than the day I received it.

I did not realize how short the return period is for these products, which is annoying because it is expensive technology. When it does not work, you’re just out of luck. Will not be purchasing from here again.

I brought the iPad as a Christmas present for myself in Dec 2019. This device has been like a close companion for everything I do and sometimes even what I think. It has never failed me. The memory is super big and I keep waiting for it to tell me that it is full.

I recommend this product to anyone who needs a personal companion to count on on a daily basis. It really has made a difference for scheduling purposes and remembering even the simple things in life.

Para um tablet que se pretende ser um modelo superior da marca com 4gb de ram, não se percebe. Tenho um tablet para uma criança, com 1gb de ram e que custou 3x menos, que tem melhor câmera e som, para se ver.

Quanto ao resto, é fluido e tem bom ecrã, mas por mais uns euros arranja-se melhor.
