I can’t say enough good things about this product!It has help bring our mini donkey back to being mobile again, and now off all meds, and off buteless again. It has taken our draft from barely wanting to move around, to keeping up with the herd.

She will be staying on it long term to keep her comfortable, with it being natural long termuse is ok. We have used both the pellet form, and the liquid. I kinda like the liquid over the pellet, just because or picky draft doesn’t even notice it’s there, where as before she was picking out the pellets, and leaving them behind.

We also use it as needed on our Sr. mare on days it’s real cold, and she is looking pretty stiff, and in pain to make her more comfortable as well. It is so nice to have these guys out of pain again, and not having to use drugs on them.

I purchased this as I had been looking for a low cost Devil’s Claw Supplement. While this is palatable and easy to feed (pellet form) the standard dose doesn’t include nearly enough to manage any symptoms for any standard size horse.

Harpagoside is detectable in the blood within 30-60 minutes after administration but at this serving it’s a negligible amount. For improvement of symptoms (or literally any visual detection at all) recommended dosage is 2-4 grams per day.

Either consider tripling the dosage under supervision of a vet or get a different Devil’s claw supplement. Unless you have a miniature horse, the 1oz daily scoop is basically just money out of your pocket and no results.

I’m a skeptic, but I tried this supplement as a last-ditch resort for a horse with navicular pain. To my amazement, it has provided my horse with a lot of relief. Within the first 3 days, I noticed that he was coming in from the field with less glandular swelling at his throatlatch.

And then within a week, he was noticeably more sound. I actually think this supplement has helped him more than coffin joint injections. And it hasn’t irritated His Highness’ sensitive stomach, which was a problem with the original formulation with devil’s claw.

This product has helped reduce swelling in that leg.

Easy to measure powder in a wide mouth jar. Only a windy day might defeat you. I have an elderly gelding with EPM and I believe it is keeping him with us! Coat is shiny. Appetite good. Eyes are bright.

I think it has given him the extra advantage through the rigorous veterinary treatment for EPM. He has gained weight after significant weight loss. Worth every penny.

The horses eat it willingly with their grain or hay cubes. I haven’t been feeding it long enough to say how much of a difference it makes but it definitely doesn’t hurt. I like that it has a probiotic in addition to the biotin.

I used to get this product from Amazon for $57 for a 10# bucket. I used to have to remember to order it every month. With Corro I got 2 – 10# buckets for the same price and they do auto ship. I did get a first time buyers discount but in the long run this is an awesome deal.

My 24 year old Arabian horse was starting to move a little slower, drag his hind feet, and start out stiff when we’d work together so I started him on Flex-Max to see if it would help him. Now I view joint supplements with a bit of suspicion as I haven’t found a lot of research to support their efficacy so I didn’t tell anyone about starting him on this so as to not inform their responses if there were any changes.

This is expensive, but I guess you get what you pay for, cuz this stuff is fantastic. I first used this as a last resort about ten years ago for a horse that I loved and I could see I was losing him to old age.

Ok, found my new favorite. As much research I’ve done trying to find the best for my horses without sugers and starches, don’t know why it took me so long to find this. My horses are on Argentina Bahaia pasture, free choice round bales, alfalfa/timithy pellets, Equine Saver and coconut oil.

My “hard keepers” thoroughbreds have never looked better. Even had to start keeping them in a dry lot some because they getting to fat. 🙂 My 17′ horse had bowed tendons with a club foot, can already see big changes in him.

It’s a little pricy, but I’ll never feed anything else. It’s awesome knowing that they’re getting everything thing they need. No more guessing with the vitamins and minerals and amino acids ( which is how I found this product).

I have a 32 y o mare that’s been on it for a few years now. While I don’t ride her any more she looks great, is in good condition and my farrier constantly remarks on her good condition compared to horses 5-10 years younger.

I’ve been using this product along with Red Cell for years. I have a 37 yr old gelding and he has maintained his weight until this winter when I had to switch to a better senior feed and increase his feedings to 3 times a day.

His coat is good and he’s healthy. He’s gained all of his weight back and then some. I do suggest you research your horse’s nutritional needs but this has worked for me. It smells so good too!.

Tried this at the suggestion of a friend. This past summer, we took on care of an older horse, 20+ years old, who was downright emaciated. We didn’t know much about his history, we could just tell that he had been through some hard times.

Regular feed perked him up just a bit, but he really didn’t start filling out until we started using Farnam Weight Builder. The stuff smells so good, I’m tempted to eat it! I’ve used this product serveral times on several different times. My family rescues abused and neglected horses. We tried this product to try and increase the amoung of weight gain on them. Every time we add it to the feed for the next little while the horse looks amazing.

But as soon as we would try to pull them off (slowly or immediately) they would loose everything they had gained on the weight gainer. So if you need a little bit of weight to look good for a while go ahead and use it.

However if you want to actually have the horse gain weight don’t bother. I’ll just stick with what actually works, good quality hay, excercise, and 1 qt of rolled oats a day. Palatability: 1.

I started feeding Nu Image DARK HORSE because it is a significant source of copper. My mare developed chronic, painful thrush in one hoof. Topical thrush treatments sting and treating her feet became a battle.

For all the effort and discomfort the thrush never really cleared up enough for her to be sound. But supplementing with copper has reduced the thrush to almost nothing (it comes back if she’s off the copper for a week).

At 20 she is the picture of health with a round back and glossy coat. Her scant, itchy mane (probably another fungal issue) has grown back. If fungal issues like thrush are your horse’s problem and you are considering a Select the Best product, be sure you buy the DARK HORSE product.

Select the Best also offers plain Nu Image which has a different formulation with no copper. Note, Select the Best does not advertise or recommend their product for fungal issues. Also, even though labeled Dark Horse, I would not hesitate to feed this to any color horse.

As for palatability, my mare wolfs it down but my gelding won’t eat it. Fortunately he has no fungal issues and his coat is nice.

Works Very Well on My Dark Bays; yet my Black Stallion although Darkening up, is still in a constant fight with Sun Fading! It took a couple months to really make a difference, which I suspected it would since new hair has to grow in first. I saw the best results after switching my easy keeper from a very small portion of a complete feed to a ration balancer, which helped ensure that he was getting an appropriate amount of all his vitamins and minerals.

We had a severely anemic llama who got hit hard by parasites that were immune to our de-worming regimine this year. He was barely holding on and very lethargic. After the vet had us do an new intensive de-worming routine, he still was weak and hardly moving.

Poor guy was just laying there all day. I was frantic trying to get him to pull through. The vet was even concerned he may not make it. Finally after finishing the de-wormer, the vet recommended we try Red Cell 15ml a day until he feels better or up to 2 weeks.

(be sure to speak with your vet first before giving this to llamas. The high copper concentrate has the potential to be toxic rather than help if misused). I gave this to him once a day (mixed in with some chopped corn and food pellets).

He was skeptical of the smell at first but after some coaxing he finally ate it. I dosed him for 3 days. Each day I could see him gaining more energy. By the 4th day I stopped dosing him because I am happy to report he is up and walking around.

Looks and smells like the human Geritol(tm) supplement. A bit messy to handle, but may be useful to get some extra iron into the diet of an older horse. Our vet recommended this, and the price is reasonable enough.

The liquid is top dressed on pelleted feed and the horses accept it without a fuss. (Haflingers, age 27-29. ).

This supplement is excellent for horses that may be dealing with a low red blood cell count. Whether it’s due to recovery from ulcers, they’re under heavy workloads or other conditions, Red Cell can help boost the Hgb.

I recommend having your vet do a blood panel to make sure though because excess iron can cause other problems.

I use this for my horse who has issues with his navicular area and it helps him stay sound. Keep in mind navicular syndrome presents itself in a few different ways so I am not saying it will help all horses with navicular issues but in his case it seems to help with the discomfort from his deep digital flexor tendon.

It can’t restore the navicular bone, however when I have taken him off of it in the past the lameness returned. I took him off for a few weeks to test if it was the supplement that was helping and sure enough it was.

I won’t be taking him off of this again. He gets the maintenance dose and it works great for now. Palatability: 5.

I gave this to a 16h, 22-yr old, TB/Qtr mare that had not had any supplements at all for at least 10 years prior to becoming my horse. Her joints were stiff and popped with every step. I noticed a difference, and less popping, in just 3 or 4 days of the initial dose.

I was using a different hoof supplement that’s hard to find now. My mare is 32 years old and her hoofs have been splitting really bad. So the other product was doing wonders, but I decided to try this one and give it try after much research and comparing information and reviews.

In two months of use my mares feet have went back to the horrible splitting and we had it almost stopped with the other product. I was sincerely disappointed as I do like some of their products but this one did not meet up to advertise expectations.

I have an appendix quarter horse that suffered an abscess that left him 3-legged lame until it erupted. During the whole process, he lost a lot of weight even with hay available 24/7. I have used this product before, but had stopped giving it to my horses about 8 months ago. Then, in November, my oldest mare suffered a metabolic episode and for 6 weeks could barely walk, so I purchased the product again, specifically for her, but I (try to) give it to all my horses just as a preventative.

One mare will actually leave her grain alone if it’s topdressed with Remission. Two other horses are OK with it, but the mare with the health issue won’t always finish her grain if it has Remission in it.

This makes things difficult, as her Thyro-L and Equioxx are also in the bucket, so now I’m unsure if she’s getting all her meds. I think it’s probably a good product (my farrier liked the ingredients), but I’d be much happier with a pellet than a powder.

The powder just sinks to the bottom of the bucket unless I add liquid (like aloe vera) and stir to coat the grain. My old mare doesn’t like soggy grain. sigh. I have used other Animed products and believe them to be of high quality.

My Arabian helping has had breathing allergies for a few years which he has been on medication. The medication helps with his breathing, however he had a really bad cough that would happen often that still affected his breathing.

I found Heave Ho online and after reading about this supplement I ordered the Sugar Free Apple, which my horse refused to eat, avoiding it in his grain no matter what I did. I then reordered Heave Ho this time going for the Molasses flavor which my arab loved to eat; it has tremendously helped with his cough as he rarely coughs ever since being on it for two weeks following instructions and does help quite a bit with his breathing, though he sometimes needs dex depending on his allergies particularly in summer.

Overall I recommend Heave Ho for anyone whose horses suffer from any respiratory issues and will continue to use Heave Ho for my Arabian!.

I started using this on my 20 year old mare who gets congested when hay feeding season comes. She was really bad. This year she was really affected. Labored breathing, nasal discharge, watery eyes. I did the double dose for the first 14 days, and it cleared her right up! She wont eat it sprinkled in her grain so I have to add a little water and put it in a large syringe.

She is just really picky so that is just the way i have to administer it to her. This stuff really works. It is a tad pricey, but again, it really works.

My horse is super picky about powder supplements. he will leave them all at the bottom of his bin. So, after trying the ultimate 100 first, which is a powder that smells like koolaid, he wasn’t much of a fan.

He is a very big horse that needed to gain weight after he came back from a lease so he was getting the max dose of 8 oz per day split between 2 meals. Maybe if he didn’t need so much of it, he might eat it better but he could pass in that supplement.

I feel like it was a waste of money because it mixed with his other supplements that probably went to waste as well. So, even though this product is only 40% fat vs the 100% fat, k thought I’d give it a try since it’s in pellet form and I’ve been having a hard time finding any day Supplement in a pellet instead of powder.

We are 3 weeks of 8lbs TC senior and 8oz a day and I am starting 5o see a HUGE difference! I will be keeping the horses on this! Much cheaper and more palatable then oils and other supplements I have tried.

My horse was diagnosed with EPM in February 2021. We treated him and although he was better, he still had some clinical signs of the disease. Mid October we noticed a few more signs that the disease might be progressing.

He tested negative for that but positive for increased inflammation. I bought E-Clipse’ PM in late October and after just over a month of feeding it, I am seeing a difference his movement and energy.

It is still too early to judge how this works long term, but am very pleased with the results that I’ve seen so far.

My horses absolutely love these licks. We provide them as boredom busters for the winter and they go crazy over them. The only downside is the bucket itself is cumbersome when it gets low. They knock it off the wall trying to get the last bit, put their hoof in it, etc.

The RGV has salt and calcium in high concentrations in the water which can keep minerals from being absorbed properly by our horses. This product has the sulfur and sugars needed to balance and flush these unwanted excesses out of the horses systems , thus allowing them to absorb the nutrition they need to be healthy.

Horses drink more water in the heat so by having this free choice they can fix themselves whenever they feel they need it! This has reduced my feed costs and helped all my horses be less stressed and it helps makes them look fantastic!.

My cousin feeds this to her horses and recommended it. I got one and it has only lasted a week with my 3 horses, they LOVE IT!!! Because of winter, vitamin and minerals are less available through roughage and hay, which is why I believe they have gone through the first one so quickly.

Horses crave when they are depleted of nutrients, just like people. I’m going to buy 2 or order and pick up in store. I love seeing my horses healthy and happy. This will now be added for them for free choice.
