20 Best Stylus For Ipad Air 2 Drawing (2023 Updated)

After 5 years of constant daily use i finally needed to replace the tips of the 2 Meko pens i bought. So i bought 2 new pens with 4 extra tips. | noticed Meko has improved the quality of the rubber sleeve on the new pens.

Kudos for that as it just bothered me a little that the old sleeves would move around while doing graphics. Thinking about buying a few more sets of pens as christmas gifts for my wife, brother, and a good friend.

This is excellent stylus. Has a good weight and feel in the hand. The finish of the metal is top notch. The mesh nub is smooth and silky on a screen. We have not used the fine line disk yet. The design is clever as both tips can be stored in covered position.

I am Very pleased with this and recommend it.

Amazing stylus. Solid and well-built, works great with my screen, pretty much everything I could have wanted in a capacitive style stylus. Obviously its not the Apple Pencil, but since I dont have $200 to shell out on something I might lose in five minutes, this is great.

Its also super ergonomic and very beautiful to look at.

I considered an Apple pen but my needs were light. What a pleasant surprise to find this little gem. ! Works well. Charges easily. Does the job. It doesn’t connect via a magnet to iPad. Still … a very decent pen.

Logitech Combo Touch is a superb keyboard case for the iPad. It’s super simple to pair with the iPad and comes with a wide range of features which make it a fantastic purchase. The trackpad offers precise control and handy gestures built in such as app switching, photo controls and much more.

The backlit keys are extremely handy when you’re working at night and don’t want to disturb others. There are five adjustable levels to suit everyones requirements. The keyboard itself is very easy to type into as the keys are not crammed together and offer a smooth and fluid typing experience.

It charges directly through the iPad so theres no need for an external charger and is fully detachable. The kickstand can be tilted quite a bit to find the perfect angle to keep the iPad standing. The mechanical hinge keeps it in place and does not let it collapse.

The case offers front and back protection, protecting from scuffs and scratches while being lightweight. As soon as you hold it, you can feel the premium quality of the case and materials. This is no doubt one of the best keyboard case I have come across for iPad.

It feels so natural to use and provides everything you would require. I highly recommend it.

I unfortunately did not know that if you don’t use Apple Pencil for weeks or months that the battery just completely dies and cannot be fixed. I had the dreaded 3% battery issue and pairing issue on the Apple Pencil.

I did some research and it turns out that so many people have experienced the same problem with the Apple Pencil. Instead of spending another 100 dollars, I did some research and was looking for alternatives to the Apple Pencil.

I am so glad I found the Logitech Crayon. It works just as good as the Apple Pencil and is cheaper. It features what the Apple Pencil should have – a power button. You can power off the Logitech Crayon when not in use to conserve the battery life.

It is so much easier to charge, you just plug it into any Lightning cable. You don’t awkwardly charge it from the iPad’s charging port, you charge it normally like all of your other Apple devices. 5 stars for the Logitech Crayon.

I purchased 2 of these for use at DePaul College Prep in Chicago. One of the crayons stopped within 1 month. Logitech indicated it would take “some time” to replace the product – some time was 94 days.

This is required for school work, so I purchased a replacement. Last night I learned the crayon didn’t last through the school day, when it doesn’t work, my sons cannot complete class work. I’ve been 15 before, so I thought there may be other issues, like a 15-year-old who blames a poor charge.

So, I tested and confirmed the battery life is abysmal. We’re on month 4 and all of the Crayons are either unreliable or not functioning. If this happened with a single device, I could understand. It’s a systemic problem.

The product is garbage. 3 crayons, $210 down the drain. Spend the additional $20 and get the Apple Pencil. I would have easily spent more to avoid this frustration. Now that I have to purchase a replacement, that’s what I’m going to do.

The only criticism I would put on this is that it has a small blunt end instead of a fine tip. It doesn’t cause that big of a difference for the normal user, but for someone that writes notes regularly for Uni it can be a bit annoying.

But I still believe it’s 100% value for money. If there is a possibility to get a fine tip to put on this model, please do keep me updated. It will serve a student well.

This pen does NOT work, nor does it work with the so called apps it says its compatible with iPad Pro and notability! Its literally a white plastic stick with a blue light! An absolute waste of money.

Stick with genuine Apple products!.

Came very quickly, started using it as soon as it came in and it works great! Just make sure your screen isnt as bad as mine- the protective glass hinders calibration and sync. Otherwise- its amazing!

I love the quality feel of this product. The dual end option of different tips is brilliant.

Diameter was not the right size as mentioned in description and it ended up not fitting in my holder. Too much trouble to return it so I guess I’ll keep it.

When I saw this Zagg stylus, I was eager to give it a try because it was offered in a dark slate gray finish. I have the ever popular white stylus for my iPad but I always wanted a black one that offered the same performance.

The Zagg stylus comes with a USB C cable and one extra nib that you can replace once the existing one gets worn down. The Zagg stylus works with my new iPad but it was a little fussy connecting the first time.

I first needed to charge it which was quite simple. You slide the end cap up to reveal a USB C charging port. I connected the included USB C cable to it to charge it up which didn’t take very long at all.

It shows a red light while charging and the light goes out when fully charged. Once it was charged I turned it on by pushing the power button on the side of the stylus. I immediately doubled tapped my iPad to get a new Note to open and it did.

Once I started drawing, things got weird. The pen lost the ability to draw and I couldn’t reconnect it until I powered it off and rebooted my iPad. After that it started working again. not sure but it may be a Bluetooth issue with my iPad which was running the latest beta software.

So, it may just be the iOS and not the stylus at all. It worked just fine in the Notes app and I could draw just like my Apple Pencil. It even has a flat side just like the Apple Pencil which may make it fit into existing cases that have a place for the Apple Pencil.

I used the stylus in several other apps like Sketchbook, Paper but had serious lag in the Photoshop app for iPad. For me, it would not be an option if I was using Photoshop a lot. The palm rejection seemed to work well and so did the tilt function.

One thing the Zagg could use is a double tap feature that switches tools. It doesn’t offer any tap functions and I don’t know if they plan of making an update that brings it to the Zagg. One other issue area is that if you have an Apple Pencil, these two don’t play nice together.

Once the Apple Pencil is connected it’s difficult to get the Zagg reconnected. I tried to get the expanded instructions but the Zagg webpage for them that’s printed in their quick guide leads me to nowhere.

That’s an issue. So I have no idea if there is a solution until the manual is readily available. The other end of the stylus offers a standard non active nib that lets you select things like a standard stylus.

It worked fine every time I used it, even when the active end wasn’t. Overall, the Zagg is an ok stylus. It comes in a great slate finish, has palm rejection, tilt sensitivity and a non active nib on the other end.

For most people this is all they need, It does lack some features you can find on the Apple Pencil but if you can do without the extra features, this Zagg should work well for you. Plus, It’s much less expensive which makes a big difference to a lot of people.

Love it! Works just like the Apple Pencil. I have a gen 1 iPad Pro and pencil, and like the functionality. When I got the new iPad Pro, I decided to try a 3rd party pencil before investing in the apple one.

I’m glad I did. This pencil is great! The iPad apps recognize it’s a pencil so there isn’t any functionality loss. Only downside is that it can’t charge wirelessly through the iPad, but it can be magnetically stored on the iPad just like the apple pencil.

To charge you need to use the included usb. c cable. On, and it has a regular stylus as the pencil “eraser”, so it’s still useable, though not fully, when it needs a charge.

Zagg Pro Stylus (Best Buy Review) The Zagg Stylus Pro is an Apple Pencil competitor that seems to be worth its salt. It combines a ‘traditional’ stylus (like you used to see before Apple Pencil became a thing) with a tip that is compatible with Pencil-compatible iPads.

The packaging is light and simple, and the instructions provided leave something to be desired. I had some initial issue powering the stylus and getting it to connect to my third generation iPad Pro, and found that it was better to completely remove my existing Apple Pencil from bluetooth devices then use the Zagg stylus.

At the time of experiencing these issues, the support site wasn’t live yet on Zagg’s website for this particular product, which was frustrating. From a design perspective, it is a stark difference from the Apple Pencil: two-tone gray and black instead of all white, with a power button along the side near the ‘traditional’ stylus end.

The tip looks a little crayon-like, but otherwise the stylus looks low-profile and minimalist. It certainly feels less dense than the Apple Pencil, so maybe a bit lower in quality, but it’s not a deal breaker.

Using the Zagg stylus is an experience on par with the Apple Pencil, however, the workflow of using it is a bit different. First, it has to be powered on (instead of being immediately on after removing from the side of the iPad), and charging is done via an included USB type-C port cleverly hidden beneath a sliding component at the traditional stylus end.

This sliding component also makes a decent fidget toy. The Zagg stylus also doesn’t support the ‘double tap’ function that the Apple Pencil does, but I often times find myself more frustrated by that feature than excited by its presence.

Most notably (and excitingly for me) is the traditional stylus end—one of my biggest complaints about the Apple Pencil is the inability to use it to navigate all aspects of the iPad user interface. Zagg combats this with the old-school rubber-tipped stylus at the “eraser” end.

So, it’s not an Apple Pencil—but in some ways, that is what makes it great. At $69–versus $129 for the Apple Pencil—and with added functionality in the ability to fully navigate your iPad with both ends of the stylus, it’s a no-brained.

Sure, it does have to be powered on and charged independently, which is less ‘streamlined,’ but it’s a small price to pay for a good-looking product that gives you a little more functionality.

Worked marginally for a few months of light use, but was NOT smooth-moving over my phone screen, and was NOT sensitive as described. I had to mash the head against the screen for every response to be accepted.

Got cramps in my fingers during use. Plus the clip broke off almost immediately. Sensitivity problem steadily worsened until stylus became completely USELESS. Total ripoff. Will never buy anything from this brand again.

Going back to the cheapo 10-for-a-dollar type. At least those I *expect* to fall apart quickly.

This is a great stylus. I have used it on all my devices – phone, laptop, iPad – and it worked great each time. It really is smooth and doesn’t skip or get glitchy. It had a clip thing so you can attach it to papers or a cover, which is nice and if fit perfectly into the holder on my iPad case.

It’s light weight but I do wish it was a bit heavier as I prefer a heavier feel – but that’s just my personal preference.

I love everything about it. It charges in minutes, lasts for days! It’s silent! I tap ALOT, I can not stand the constant sound other stylus make. There are replacement tips readily available. It turns on and off like clicking a pen, from the top.

I’ve had some that are impossible to use, the on/off is placed where I hold it so I’m constantly turning it off during use. I’ve used this stylus longer than all others combined. I’ve tried 25 different ones.

I will never use another.

I bought this pen as I was doing fine drawing, and a normal stylus was too bulky. I researched Apple iPad (5th Generation) compatible pens and this one kept coming up. I asked a few questions of the Harvey Norman team, and they agreed with what I hade found.

The team at Echuca Harvey Norman are excellent to deal with. This particular pen does not use Bluetooth to pair with a device, I believe it uses near field connectivity. All I had to do was charge the pen, and turn it on with a click, just like a normal pen.

The feel is excellent, it does lag but only slightly. The one thing that it doesn’t do that would be handy, is pressure point i. e. pressing harder to make a dot larger. I would definitely recommend this pen.

The pen works well and there has been no issues so far with it. It is simple and easy to use and has a long battery life. It feels and looks like a real pen and works smoothly on the iPad. It would be great if it came with a case like some other males and models available.

I am very pleasantly surprised with the quality and ease of use of this stylus pen for iPad. The instructions were easy to follow. The pen feels great to hold and feels very sturdy. Battery life is great.

I only use it occasionally but I have only had to charge it once in two weeks so far. It does turn on almost too easily while clipped in to my iPad’s case but there is a bright blue LED indicator on it so I see to turn it off when that happens.

The only difference between this stylus and an Apple Pencil I tried at a store display is that this stylus is NOT pressure sensitive, I have to manually change the “ink or paint” width in the apps but for me this is ok.

I love being able to write, draw, and more. Definitely a great alternative for the price if you want to save money instead of paying $90 for the Apple Pencil.

I was given an iPad for work and I use it to take notes and keep track of tasks. My husband bought the real Apple Pencil awhile back and there isn’t much difference between this and the genuine product, he’s disappointed he wasted the money.

My boss also has a Apple Pencil and he used this and was really impressed. I also bought a screen protector that’s paper like to write on. It was a game changer for me as I couldn’t get used to the slippery surface.

I’m really grateful that I don’t have to spend $130 on the Apple version. Works great!.

IšverstiShow in original languageI recently picked up the 2nd generation Apple Pencil to use with my iPad Air. The Pencil is a tad larger than a number 2 pencil, but weighs more. It has a slightly grippy texture and a narrow flat strip along one side that feels good in my hand.

I wish that Apple had made the tip with a more rubbery so it did not feel slick on the tablet glass. It is a pleasure to use the Pencil to write or draw with. It feels natural. The pressure sensitivity is responsive and adds to the “natural” feel and muscle memory.

I have mine set so the double tap switches the tip to the eraser and I got used to it very quickly. The only way to charge the pencil is on the top/right side of the iPad. There is a satisfying click when the Pencil snaps into position, and while the magnets are strong I do not trust them to hold the pencil in place and find myself checking to make sure it is still there when putting my iPad in my case or when removing it.

I have take my iPad to a meeting only to discover that I left the Pencil on my desk. Battery life is amazing. I never go through a charge during a day of use and since the Pencil charges while it is attached I never have an issue.

At $130. 00 this is not a budget friendly device. You can purchase a good Wacom stylus for $65. 00 but they are not interchangeable. I would only recommend the Apple Pencil only if you have an iPad that is compatible with it AND you are going to use it for more than note taking or simple sketching.

There are cheaper pens that are good enough for taking notes on an iPad that are half as expensive – the Logitech crayon comes to mind.

The Apple Pencil is designed to look and act beautifully. This stylus has a matte finish that doesn’t feel like it is going to slip out of your hands like some others. The pen also has a nice balance to it, making it a valuable product for artists.

Double tapping on the side allows you to switch tools in supported apps, which helps when sketching or doodling. Pencil is instantly recognized by my iPad Air, and I appreciate that it charges on the side wirelessly instead of having to use yet another cable to charge it.

One small gripe I do have is that the double tap feature only works within apps to switch art tools. A knock-off I have used before has a feature that allows me to switch between apps or see an overlay of all open apps.

If there was a way to program the Pencil to do this instead of the limited application of the feature then this would be a winning accessory hands down! Overall a bit pricy, but definitely a treat to use.

If you are a dedicated artist, this would be a great investment to further your career. Meanwhile, it might not be as great of a value if you are strictly using your iPad for business use due to the limited usage.

When you draw, it picks it right up, no lag. I’m using it on an 2020 iPad Pro 12. 9”. I love that you can charge the pencil directly from laying it on the top of the ipad where the magnets are. This is how you also pair it upon first opening it.

Very simple pairing process, it just works. The pencil has some weight to it, you definitely feel it in your hands when holding it, the quality is good also. It doesn’t feel cheap or flimsy. The material the pencil is made of is a gray/whitish smooth material that feels like you could rub/bump it against something and the white won’t come off.

Overall, I had a third party stylus from Amazon that worked with my iPad Pro 12. 9” but it wasn’t nearly as smooth and reliable like Apple’s pencil option and I had to charge it via USB C. With Apple’s pencil, it charges on the iPad so conveniently out of the way with any cords.

It’s an all enclosed design, meaning there are no charging ports on it. I feel like for most things, Apple’s in house home cooking solution is the best route to go, even paying a little more for something.

I’m glad I bought this on sale, I would look for Amazon Prime Day deals or Black Friday to get a really good sale. Also, if you don’t mind buying used, Best Buy used/refurbished is a good cheaper option.

I use my IPad with a stylus all the time when I’m creating designs. Over the last few years I’ve tried many different brands of stylus’ and in my honest opinion this stylus is the best one I’ve ever used.

The Targus Antimicrobial Active Stylus is most definitely my favorite. I can design for 10 hours before it goes dead and it also has a very long standby time. It’s made with DefenseGuard Antimicrobial Protection in the finish of the stylus pencil.

It also comes with an extra tip, a cord to charge, and you don’t have to use Bluetooth or download anything for it to work. The quality of this product is impeccable!! This is by far my favorite stylus pencil for my artwork.

It works so well just writing notes for myself in the notes app on my iPad. Hands down the best I’ve ever used!!!!.

I received this stylus in exchange for my review. I opened the package and immediately put on the charger. After about 20 minutes I decided I needed to try it out. There are no hoops to set up, just tap to turn on and use! So simple! The sensitivity is amazing.

I really wasn’t expecting too much, but this thing really works like a dream. It’s great for art, writing and really anything that your thumbs might be a bit large for. I am going to get another for my kids!.

I got this because i like to draw and i wanted something to use with the iPad. I had an extremely hard time getting it to connect. There were no included instructions to get it to connect so i had to google answers.

After multiple attempts and turning off the iPad 2 times i was finally able to get it to work. It works well and is somewhat heavier than a normal pencil but I’ll get used to that. I do have to watch the pressure i use, it doesn’t seem to have a pressure sensitivity.

I do like that i can lean my hand on the iPad and draw without it interfering. I look forward to getting better with it and using it for drawing and writing on the iPad.

Have these for Samsung Galaxy phones and tablets, they are amazing, no other stylus comes close. The Wacom Bamboo Solo Stylus is in a class of its own, worth every penny and better still, replacement nibs are readily available on ebay.

Why buy an inferior product when you can buy a Wacom stylus.

This was a very good buy! Not just because they are Wacom Bamboo, but because the cost of each pen was cheaper than the cost of a 5mm replacement stylus for the C140/150. I spoke directly with Wacom who wanted 50 to ship an order for 18 stylus replacements.

Anyone who can produce 5mm tips could make a fortune – just check the prices on Amazon. The other good thing is that the C100 uses a 6mm stylus which are available without massive cost!.

My fingers are naturally oily which interfered with read the screen after intense use. Using the stylis is a real game changer resulting in my experience using the iPad to become a 10 as opposed to a -1 before.

These pens are simply inferior. Their padded end, the stylus part, is made of very weak rubber and collapses easily. But most annoyingly, the pen doesn’t write consistently at all. It skips and stutters and you have to scratch back and forth on a piece of scrap paper to get it started again.

Yuck! Not worthy of Staples, which usually has good products.

I regularly use a stylus with all of my electronics. This stylus is slim, lightweight, and easy to use. It is so convenient to be able to write and text with the same implement. Love it! With the three pack, I have one in my purse, one on my desk, and one at my bedside.

Because of arthritis, I must use a stylus when using my cell. But I love having the added benefit of a pen at the other end.

Adobe Ink and Slide is an exelent product to use for draw on Ipad. There is a pen with pressure sensor for true feel of draw like a real pencil, or brush, press harder, line wider. There is a digital Slide for easily draw not just lines, but circles, triangles, squares, men and woman shapes etc.

You can change between shapes by the button on top side of the Slide, very comfortable. The charger of the digital pen is indicate that the battery is charged fully with alternation in different colours.

There are different drawing tools peciles and brushes, you can adjust the size, transparency, and colour. (Abobe Draw). There are many sofwares to use Adobe Line, Draw, Sketch, Capture etc. Adobe continually research softwares for better results.

You can on grid, or draw in two point perspective. (Adobe Draw)This tool is best for draw outside because tablet easy to carry.

The Adobe ink stylus needs charging before each use. To charge it is a hassle and temperamental, you have to place it inside the end cap but sometimes you have to rotate it within the case to encourage it to charge.

Once charged which takes about an hour, if then stored, within two days of it sitting around and not used the battery is flat. In actually using the stylus the battery lasts about two hours. That is if you can actually use it as it skips and stops mid drawing and the lag on some compatible apps means the tip and where you want the line for example isn’t where it ends up.

There is also an offset or parallax effect which leads to the line on the screen appearing a cm in front or above/below where the tip is on the screen. The stylus is well made but the battery life and unresponsiveness means I won’t be using it as much as I’d hoped.

As long as you have compatible apps or knows how to tweak brush/stylus settings (in Procreate for example), this is an awesome pressure sensitive stylus for sketching and painting. Maybe it’s not for ultra-precise and complex line work, but it’s good enough for regular use (like cartoon characters).

Plus the rainbow LCD is just beautiful. Very satisfied.

Starting off i purchased this from JB online. The original apple pencil i bought was received same day (which is amazing). However it did not work at all. It would connect to my ipad pro, it would charge, it showed up normally! It just didnt work.

I tried it on my girlfriends ipad pro, i tried it on a few different friends ipad pro’s. None could get it to work. I tried their pencils on mine, worked first try. SO. i went to my closest JB hifi store (Leichhardt, NSW) and explained the situation.

The staff at the store were nothing short of amazing. The gentleman that served me was incredible. I suggested we try it some of the store ipad pro’s and he did, and confirmed, yep it was busted. He printed a receipt to return a faulty product, gave me a brand new one, and even suggest i open it up and try it on one of the store ipad pro’s before i left to make sure it was working before i got it home and potentially had another faulty one.

As expected, it worked PERFECTLY and first try. Getting back to it, the pencil really is great. If you do any type of art, drawing, photo editing, or even just underlining study material, it really is a a lot better than just using your finger.

Is it expensive. yes. Is it worth it, in my opinion yes. I also would like to thank again the staff at the Leichhardt store for being so awesome exchanging and swapping out a faulty product for me.

Always going to be able to rely on Apple being able to create a seemless experience with its other products. I used a first generation Apple Pencil and a 2016 iPad pro for my univerisity course. Summer 2021 I decided to upgrade my set up and go for an iPad Aie Gen 4 and and a Second Gen Apple Pencil.

So far, I’ve have been as impressed by this pencil as I was when I got the original pencil. The new design and functionaity has much improved the experience. The magnetic connection to the side of the iPad is excellent and really solid.

It will stay connected within a backpack for example. The matte finish is nice, the weght is well balanced. It dosen’t come with replacement tips but they are fairly cheap and easy to buy online.

I just love this ZAGG stylus. so easy to whip through pages and soooo easy to highlight for C&P. Not to mention it is compatible with gen6 and my new gen9 so no need to upgrade. i love APPLE but sometimes they do not do themselves any favours with accessory prices and constant upgrades when you upgrade your iPhone or iPad.

This was on special with PB Tech and made it easy to buy.

Less expensive than the Apple Penicl, this Zagg Pro Stylus works on iPad 6th and 7th gen. , iPad Pro 11-inch 1st and 2nd gen. , and iPad Pro 12. 9-inch 3rd and 4th gen. It makes a great alternative with its grey /black design matching the space grey iPad designs much better than the white Apple Pencil.

There is a battery level indicator on the stylus and it uses type C charging. I found this to be one versatile stylus and something I didn’t think I needed, but ended up being a great tool to further enhance the iPad.

It doesn’t work on iPhones. I don’t have an iPad to test it on. So it may work very well for your iPad. However I have no way of knowing. It seems to be made very well. But for my iPhone 11, the pencil like side does absolutely nothing.

I’ll definitely be returning this.

Not at all what I was expecting, well design wise anyway. It’s a small disc at the tip of the pen that glides across the screen. It is very fine and works great! I have been drawing with it for quite some time and am blown away.

It takes a bit of getting used to because the disc is a bit odd. Only gets picked up in the center of the disc and great for a phone or touchscreen device. I use my for drawing and texting because it glides across the screen with ease.

Construction is good, it has some weight to it for a stylus (even more that most pens) and is very comfortable. I forgot I was using a stylus not a pen. It is a large click and I wish the tips where easier to find to replace.

Plan on getting a spare soon!.

The design is definitely not what I was expecting. The disk can be misleading. It is actually an impeccably precise stylus. I needed these to capture signatures on the ipad for business purposes and they work magnificently, and you definitely cant beat the price! This is an awesome pen. Very responsive in fact I was very surprised when I first used it. I have used other pens but this one is the best of all of them the only issue is theres some parallax to it ( the distance where the pen tip is from the actual brush on the screen) however all of these pens have it and some have more than others.

This pen is very accurate though and I do recommend buying it.
