20 Best Straightening Brush For Thick Curly Hair (2023 Updated)

I could never get myself to straighten my hair – the process of having to section it, just took forever. I have VERY VERY thick, fine hair. so it takes forever to flatiron. my hair is naturally pretty straight (if I blow dry it) except for some sections that are always a little bit wavy.

I just tried this product and I’m obsessed. it took less than 5 minutes and it’s absolutely foolproof. my hair looks like I put alot of time into it and really all I did was brush my hair, add heat protector, then brush through with the product a couple times.

10/10 recommend. + it’s not that expensive. very happy.

Yet as Thrifty as I am, I DID keep the receipt, just in case the unfortunate reality would hit, that they’re really not as easy and quick as they always seem to be and that there was a reason that Drew Barrymore’s item was only $39.

NO NEED. not only does it live up to the flower by Drew Barrymore’s brand name but it also works so well it cuts out 45 minutes of my morning routine!!!! This hair straightening brush has hard, plastic bristles that are ceramic coated to style hair. It has 5 adjustable heat settings ranging from 270F to 410F. It heats up quickly and provides even heat distribution across the brush.

It can be used to run over hair from the roots to the end on the top for a smooth, sleek look or from underneath to smooth hair and add volume and body. It gives a natural looking smooth and frizz free look to the hair and not a complete straight look as you’d achieve from a flat iron.

It also appears to be less damaging to hair as compared to a flat iron. The design of the brush is good, other than the buttons. The buttons for the heat selection are very small and not so easy to use.

Other features that I find convenient are that it is travel friendly, with automatic dual voltage and also has an automatic shutoff feature.

Review is based on fine, type 2B fine hair. This product is okay. Just okay. It’s not great, and I was certainly expecting a lot more from it. I used it on fully dried hair and you MUST brush through your hair first.

This brush WILL NOT brush through any knots of any size. I sectioned my hair into 3 or 4 inch sections and with 3 or 4 SLOW passes, this did effectively straighten my hair. It did not deliver volume and it definitely did not deliver sleekness.

My hair was still frizzy and a little poofy in the back, even after using the brush on the underneath and on top of my hair as it recommends to do. I did find that this took half the time to straighten my hair as a traditional flat iron does, but the results are not as good.

If you have naturally straight-ish hair, this might be a better fit for you. All in all, I would recommend it if you’re someone who does not like the damage of flat irons. Just have some products on hand to smooth down your hair afterward.

I was so let down by this product. My hair isn’t thick by any means but my curls need HEAT to flatten out. This gets pretty toasty, just not enough. I have a Revlon straightener with adjustable temperature that was half the price of this that kicks butt.

I really love my Drybar blow-dryer, but this was disappointing. It didn’t really grip my hair to straighten my curls either so I’d have to use a brush along with this. Maybe the larger version is better but I’m not spending $150 to find out.

I can at least use this for when it’s already been straightened by my Revlon iron one or two days after straightening for touch-ups. Just buy a flat iron.

I really like it!! It takes a second to get used to, but it’s super fast if your in a hurry, it heats up fast, I love the way its made, easy to clean. However, I got the leave conditioner, I love the product itself but the bottle is so hard to hold and spray hair at the same time, you almost have to use both hands, unless I’m doing something wrong? Lol It’s like half the spray top is missing, nothing there to rest on your fingers so you can hang onto it.

Hope this made sense? My rating was based strictly on the brush. Overall happy tho, just fix those spray bottles! 🙂.

My first purchase is the one upper and the third wheel heat protection for my hair. Let me tell you. I am in love with both!! My hair feels so healthy after straightening it with the one upper. I’m not sure how but it’s a boost to my self-esteem for sure!! Thank you!! And I get so many compliments on my hair smelling nice thanks to the third wheel.

I have thick, coarse, naturally curly hair cut into a mid length shag. I’ve always loathed styling it but I loathe the frizziness of it when I don’t, even more. It’s a necessary chore I do not enjoy.

When my old straightening brush died without warning, I turned in desperation to the Amika mini tavel version of this brush I had. I decided to spend the money on the full sized one, and I’m glad I did!! This sucker makes it dead easy to achieve straight, soft hair.

Fast. I use a bit of either Amika Bombshell Blowout or The Shield when styling and get long lasting (5-7 days, minimal touch ups) results— and soft hair. Seriously, this thing is worth it. The Instyler Straight Up Pro does do wonders as long as I blow dry my and not let it dry naturally. I love how quickly I am able to straighten my hair, and it leaves me feeling confident I haven’t done too much damage due to the heat.

You may choose which temperature you prefer, it heats up in seconds, and straighten quickly. My only complaint about the Straight Up Pro is how much hair gets got in the brissles of the brush and gets pulled out.

Sometimes it pulls a whole lot of my hair out. Other than that, I am satisfied with the finished results of this product! And would recommend it to every woman who straightens their hair! :).

I received my Foxy Bae straightening brush today and I was so excited to try this. I have tried other straightening brushes and not been too happy with the results. I have very long, thick, curly and unruly hair.

When I got the box and opened it, the first thing I noticed is that it came in an very stylish box which is an huge plus for me. It looked so beautiful sitting there when I opened it, and to my surprise it came with two hair clips, which I definitely needed considering my others have all been misplaced or taken.

I took it out of the box and it felt amazing in the hand. I felt the bristles and they felt very well made. I then plugged it up and turned it on. It’s got an digital face for the temp and so I adjusted the temp.

It heated up extremely fast and that’s awesome. I will state that the back of the brush got very very hot to the touch and the sides where the rose gold bezel is at got very hot, I burned my pinky while straightening/brushing my hair on this.

I sectioned my hair and began to use their straightening brush. I had just washed my hair yesterday and dried it with Amikas blow drying brush (awesome) and I didn’t use any products to tame the frizz or fly aways.

I didn’t curl it or anything. I simply went to bed afterwards. So when I got my straightening brush in the mail today I was beyond excited and my hair was ready to try it. While I found the brush to get extremely hot, it shouldn’t have ever burned me.

I burned my ear and my pinky using this brush. It did do its job and tame my hair while straightening it. I could definitely see myself using this brush as an quick fix to just straighten or go over next day hair.

I haven’t used this brush on my hair when it dries curly though and so I can not speak to how it does on hair that hasn’t been dried straight. I do know that in the past straightening brushes did not work for me as an straightening tool when my hair has dried curly and for this reason alone I do not use them often.

This brush is built better then the Head Kandy straightening brush, which I have used and did not like nor did it work in my hair. I will say the head Kandy had one benefit, it did not burn no matter where you touched it at.

I think that Foxy Bae straightening Brush will work for all hair types, even very curly hair like mine. I also think that you shouldn’t allow pre-teens to use this tool alone, as it does and is capable of burning you.

Over al this brush seemed to straighten my hair, leave it shiny and beautiful. It isn’t “sleek” like when you do it with an actual flat iron. It looks full and healthy with some volume and body to it, not stuck flat to the side of my head.

I like the way my hair looks and feels after using this brush and while I would recommend this brush to someone who likes to use straightening brushes or is wanting to try one. I would warn you about the downfalls of this brush, it gets VERY hot and it can and will burn you and so be very careful.

I even lowered the temp way down and it still was hot and burned. This is an very well built product and the packaging is nice and sturdy. Shipping was very quick. Overall an great investment.

I was so excited when I ordered the. However, I have naturally thick curly hair and I can’t say that this straightener worked the best for me. I even brushed my hair out first and detangled it. For the cost, it doesn’t save time for straightening my hair compared to a Chi flatiron.

Takes a really long time and pulls out hair like crazy, sad it didn’t work for me. I paid $129. 00 on the Foxybae website. If you have hair like mine, I don’t recommend it. I’m going to give it to a friend of mine who has thinner less textured hair.

••Long review, but def worth your time!!•• ****Let me start off by saying that I’ve been straightening my hair since I was 12, got my 1st Chi flat iron @ 14 religiously used the brand until I was about 28 (I’ve gone thru many, MANY Chi flat irons).

I have fine, thin curly hair using a Chi would normally take about 20 min. , but would also leave my hair SUPER flat most of the time—like no volume @ all. **** I purchased FoxyBae’s (in a bundle W/ the 7-in-1 Curling Wand), now my hair is VOLUMINOUS after I straighten it! It does take me longer W/ the brush than it did W/ a Chi, but I’ll take volume over saving time any day.

Totally worth it! I personally have 2 clean mine a lot due 2 the products I use on my hair, but it’s super easy (I turn it on use q-tips 2 wipe off residue). I still do my hair in sections by starting @ the nape of my neck working my way 2 the top of my head.

[TBH, I feel as though the bad reviews were posted by individuals W/ unrealistic expectations. Just like W/ a flat iron, you can’t expect 2 only pull the tool thru hair several times be done—a regular brush generally takes more effort than that!] I like 2 set mine @ 450°F (highest temp), it takes just minutes 2 heat up there’s an auto shut-off safety feature which my older Chi flat irons never had.

I have fine, flyaway, frizzy hair & not a lot of time or patience for blow drying. This brush is amazing, dried hair quickly & smooth. My hair looked like I had used straighteners. I took a photo straight after to send to my hairdresser so that she could tell clients with similar blow dry skills.

I’ve also been telling my friends about this brush. Photo attached is what I sent to hairdresser. This took about 10-15 minutes maximum.

It’s not that I didn’t like this brush, but it is not what I thought it was before ordering. It is a great concept but difficult to use to its potential. Unfortunately, I would prefer to return it if someone could direct me on how/when to do so?? I should note there was no packing slip or return label to do so.

Got my self straightener few months ago. I was very tempted to try it as I really am not used to blow drying and straightening my own hair. I wasn’t sure it will work but I got it anyway and the verdict is ” I love it 🥰 ” First it can only be used on dry “not wet” hair.

Basically combing my hair section by section. And my whole hair was done in 20 minuets. I tried cheaper dupes for it but it honestly doesn’t work. It’s totally life changing for me 💕.

This was really expensive but worth the investment. I have thick wavy hair that takes forever to straighten so after watching reviews on YouTube I caved in and bought this. It cut my hair care time in half and when using other hair tools I’m a lot more efficient.

It’ s very very fantastic!! Inique combination of 3 bristle types. Stiff brisles, silicone bristles and ceramic bristles. It is very functional, respects my hair and I can easily straighten it without damaging it.
