As I was being picked up to go to the airport, at my door my friend said there is a box for you. It was my solo backpack! I repacked and I was able to fit everything I needed and more. At the TSA inspection, I put the Solo backpack, unzipped the computer compartment where I had my computer, iPad, and iPhone, zipped back and done.

The material is sturdy and also nice looking. I can take with me all the things I need and check in my carryon. My traveling is easier and simple.

This bag is bigger than a standard backpack. It is structured more like carry-on luggage with many pockets and a clothing compartment that includes tie-down straps to hold folded clothes in place while the bag is tossed around.

In it, I carry my laptop, headset, 2 tablets, charging cables, hair appliances, makeup, a lighted travel makeup mirror, workout clothes and shoes, and a smaller (designer) backpack to more easily transport my laptop after reaching my final destination.

All of this is carried onto planes on my back (rather than navigating with two roller bags, or working with heavy/awkward stacked bags). The real game changer? Once on a 737, my roller goes overhead and this bag fits under the seat in front of me.

I wouldn’t overfill the bag, so there’s some “give” and the sides can be smushed a little (if necessary) to fit. The natural size/shape of the bag absolutely fits on a 737 (Southwest) and will hold a lot.

Stay within the length/width of the bag (there is some room to expand up) and you will be AMAZED at how much can be carried onto a plane. I’m on 25-50 planes/year, and in hotel rooms 150+ nights/year.

This bag changed my life. I can’t imagine (and have never owned) a more functional travel tool.

I purchased through Amazon and have used the bag once for a three night trip. Very nice, no issues, appears to be durable, hopefully, the straps hold up, I had no issues with ‘them digging in, just not sure about the durability of them.

No idea how you can possibly pack three pairs of shoes and a long weekend worth of clothes though. I had one pair of loafers and sandals.

I wanted to love this pack, I travel for business and my wife has a pack with a detachable day pack. I, being the habitual 1up’r, wanted one with a little more room and a more comfortable day pack. On paper this pack was the one.

In real life it was not. The day pack was good. But the ergonomics of the straps and the ability to access things was horrific. When trying to fully access the pack you must always detach various clips, no matter if it is fully together or just the day pack alone.

I will say that it seems to be well made and I would speculate it is durable, I will never know. The frustration with this pack is in-excusable, stay away, dont give it a chance. If you do, order something else along with it.

I ended up with a Thule Landmark and love it.

The backpack is very well designed, the place of the pockets and the zippers are very convenient. It’s a good backpack if you’re not going to fill it to maximum capacity. The only flaw is that it’s a bit heavy to carry when attaching the two bags together on your back.

So if you don’t put too many stuff in both bags, it won’t look too big to carry on your back. But like that maybe some other 65l bags may be more spacious. Otherwise, if you really stuff both bags, you’ll have to carry them separately.

Amd the strap for the bag to carry on your shoulder is not very comfortable.

but it’s not well-executed. I bought this bag for an extended-duration, multi-flight work trip. This trip required me to pack two large checked bags, have a day pack while there, and pack enough stuff in my carry-on to be able to report to duty if my luggage was delayed.

In theory, the Ozone Duplex was the perfect bag- hands-free for handling luggage, small enough daypack to be manageable at work, and big enough carry-on for boots, a full change of clothes, and all my toiletries, meds, etc.

However, once it was fully-loaded, some critical flaws exposed themselves. The good: Hands-free through multiple airports; Durable and high quality- it still looks new, 10,000 miles later. The bad: -The frame necessary to carry both the backpack and carry-on means that the backpack isn’t very “squishable” under plane seats, no matter how empty it is.

-Access to the main compartment of the backpack is on the back, adjacent to the straps. The load lifters have to be disconnected every time you access the main compartment. -The shape of the backpack that is necessary to accomodate the carry-on means that it packs oddly and things tend to sink to the bottom.

The main compartment needs to be opened halfway or better to access the contents, making them prone to spilling -When connected, the weight is far away from your core, making it feel heavier than it is.

-Attaching the carry-on is about impossible if the backpack is full. The bulk of the backpack volume is near the bottom, which only exacerbates the problem. In hindsight, I should have bought a Fairview 40 and packed a small backpack (think REI Flash 18) inside it or inside my checked bag.

Quite a bit cheaper and less hassle. I appreciate that Osprey’s designers have tackled this travel challenge, but this is the first Osprey product to disappoint me. REI, can I return it?.

The quality of the bag is very good and I like the design a lot. But the biggest complaint is that it’s too small for a duffel bag. This is smaller than a typical backpack.

Bought this as a replacement for another backpack. I’d been looking for a while and this was recommended by a colleague who liked it. It’s a great value!

I’ve never heard of this brand, but like most new items in the market they are competing, so they build a good product that cost very little to attract customers. Like Nitto Tires when it was first introduce, cost cheap at first, heavy duty, high performance for racing.

Now they are expensive to buy. Once people realize how heavy duty these backpacks are, I wouldn’t be surprise if the price went high, due to the demand.

I needed to replace my 15-year old Osprey backpack, which I LOVED because of the nice air-flow between the pack and my back. I was happy to see that the new version had the same mesh design, but was not convinced about the comfort of the stiff, molded hip belt when I tried it on in the store.

I bought it anyway (couldn’t find another brand I liked better). To my surprise, this model was a real improvement! Although it’s not quite “anti-gravity”, the hip belt really does focus the weight where it’s the most comfortable for me (right on my lower back dimples), and I feel no weight on my shoulders (my old Osprey would pull on my shoulders, no matter how I adjusted the straps).

The big downside to this belt is that it’s hard to put on: you have to pry it open to get it around your waist. Finding a big rock to sit you and your pack on helps; if available, a friend’s assistance also works.

Another minor issue with the belt was some chafing in the front, but those spots toughened up by my second backpacking trip. Overall, I’m really happy with this pack!.

I bought this pack for a 7 day, 50mi trip in northern Yosemite in July. It was my first trip of more than two nights and I knew I’d need something more spacious than my Kyte 46. I took the time to get measured at REI and have the straps adjusted there with a pro on the spot.

On the trail, it was hands-down the most comfortable pack I’ve ever worn (starting weight around 35lbs, around 27lb by the end of the trip). The hipbelt pockets are a bit stiff making it hard to get on and off, but that meant they were snug and secure while hiking.

Every time I tossed the pack on my back, I announced “light as a feather!” and set off on the trail. That said, I got so hooked on longer multi-day hikes on this trip that now I’m looking for something lighter for future trips (Tahoe Rim Trail, JMT, etc.

) At ~4lbs, this pack really adds quite a lot to your base weight. I also found that 65L was probably more than I needed (I had nothing attached to the exterior of my pack, and had no trouble fitting all my stuff inside.

) So, while I adored this pack on the trail, I may be returning it for something like the Eja 48. Overall: five stars in general, but four stars for my needs.

Did a lot if research to pick out this pack. Measured my torso and body to select the right size. It arrived fast even over the holidays and had every feature advertised. At first I didn’t quite like the fit, but 30 seconds on YouTube had me realizing I hadn’t adjusted all of the many adjustment points on this bag.

Voila, perfect fit. What I love is that the frame can be adjusted up and down within the pack itself, making it sit in just the right spot on my long torso. My only complaint so far is that the chest strap isn’t adjustable up/down.

I like the removable flap to separate the bottom compartment (let’s me stick my tent poles down into it to reduce the overall height), and it has just the right number of pockets. The side waterbottle pockets are great too.

The mesh back from the AG system seems like it will keep me cool; just need some hotter weather. Overall as described, no major surprises or disappointments.

I have the Osprey Porter Travel Pack but I have really bad shoulder problems and thought I should switch over to roller bag, but still wanted the capability of on the back as I do a lot of adventure travel too, but that this could also work for work travel as well (the dark purple adds flare without being over the top).

-SPACE: The other reviews are accurate, that because of the shoulder strap design it does decrease cargo space however, I still find that the 36L is plenty of space – I was able to pack for 2 weeks (though about 4-5 days worth of clothing), including some camping gear (a sleeping bag) and multiple coats and fit between this and the 20L daylight daypack backpack.

I still think its plenty spacious for most flying travel if you’re not doing trekking of course which it’s not designed for and if you pack smart. If you are not checking the bag you can totally stuff extra coats in the area where the backpack straps tuck into to expand cargo.

Plus I have shoulder problems so this helped me pack light anyways. -BACKPACK DESIGN: The backpack straps and suspension I am really actually impressed with for a pack that’s not primarily designed for back wear — it’s way more comfortable than the Osprey Porter shoulder straps because it has the suspension/ventilation part and the padding on the straps is better.

-DURABILITY: I’ve taken it so far on planes and boats and is great – I checked it once on a plane and it held up fine. The satellite wheeler is a little more flimsy than a 2 rod design but I feel confident in Osprey’s lifetime warranty if I were to ever have an issue.

Also this bag attracts lint and cat hair like CRAZY. It gets dirty very easily but mostly because things stick to it.

I did lots of research and chose this pack for the capacity and the fact that it is sized for women with smaller torsos and narrower shoulders than the average man. I like all of these things and the pack is very comfy in those regards.

We are going to Patagonia and also on an Antarctica cruise. I will have high quality heavy camera gear so I bought this pack so I can trek around Patagonia or go see penguins on the ice with all my gear.

However I am amazed and disappointed that the waist straps are so short, that they won’t reach if I have some warmer clothing layers or a parka on. I will need warm clothes where i am going. I can only do the waist strap up with summer clothes and a light jacket.

I am not skinny but not particularly fat either and rather petit. These straps were not a fluke as we checked others in the store. I reached out to Osprey with the “Almighty Warranty” (NOT) and they are not shipping to Canada at this time or doing warranty work (WHAT??) So it was on my time and my dime to try and cobble up some longer straps for a $200+ dollar back pack.

So unless you never plan to go where you need some layered clothes and a warm jacket, or are as skinny as a rake, beware of those waist straps. Very disappointed in this as the cost to make them a couple inches longer would be minimal or non existent and it wouldn’t affect the function of the pack at all if they were pulled tighter on a person.

I paid a premium for this back pack and it has a major fixable flaw in the design.

The first thing I noticed about this bag is that it is very lightweight. It has both wheels and backpack straps and meets most carry-on requirements for international travel. I bought this as a carry-on so I don’t have to lug a backpack in the airport, or up stairs in subway and train stations in Europe.

The zippers are solid (though are not lockable), the pack has cinch straps in all the places I wanted them, and if you don’t want to use the hip straps in backpack mode, you can clip them back so they cover the wheels and aren’t flapping at your sides.

Negatives: – I have had convertible backpack/ pullman packs before; this one is lighter but it has a more cumbersome conversion from pullman to backpack- it takes a minute longer to put the backpack straps on, and longer if you want to cover the wheels by clipping the hip straps back to the front of the pack.

– The other spot where it loses some functionality for me is the single bar pull handle. With 2 bars, you can slide a bag with a pass-thru over the handle and it stays in place. With a single bar, the bag just keeps slipping around.

Keeping those 2 things in mind, and the fact that I have not used it in real life yet, at this point, it seems like the best available on the market for a convertible backpack/ wheeled carry-on sized bag.

You get what you pay for. It’s pricey but impressive- a lot of bang for your buck.

I was surprised by the vast array and variety of backpacks and briefcases available. Most interestingly, all were designed to carry laptops – which says a lot about our culture. Happily, that’s just what I was looking for! I needed to carry not only my laptop, but several pieces of A/V equipment, wires, and books.

So, I needed a large space at the bottom of the bag. Many bags lacked the ability to carry much more than the laptop. The Solo bag has a great slot (and elastic strap) for my laptop, plus a fuzzy slot for my ipad/kindle.

And it unzips to lie flat if/when I go through TSA checkout. On the downside, the elastic strap is too long. While it prevents a laptop from falling out accidentally, it’s not as secure as I’d like. And (strangely) there’s no elastic slot for the fuzzy ipad/kindle slot.

I’m happily carrying all my gear including books, pens, and paper. The Solo backback is exactly what I needed. If only it hadn’t taken me an hour to pick from all the alternatives!.

I chose this backpack because of the two pockets in the back section—perfect for my iPad and wireless keyboard. The other pockets were great for organizing all my carryon items. My only disappointment was the width of the straps and the distance between them—just a bit big for a small woman.

Other than that—marvelous!.

Great design. I especially love the detachable daypack as well as the cover over the straps to make the backpack more streamlined when going through the airport. On the plane my backpack serves as a carry-on and the daypack as my personal item.

It’s also durable. In the last 4 years I’ve used this backpack for both backpacking hikes and travels abroad, and it has held up well — it still looks new! Perfect fit. I’m petite at 5’3″ and it fits my waist and shoulders securely.

I also adore the rainforest green color!.

This laptop bag/backpack is the greatest. There is a dedicated section that is very nicely padded for your laptop. There is also a section for carrying anything else you may need with a nice sized pocket.

I find that this pocket is great for holding papers, loose or in folders. This section is also where I shove the power cord, mouse, some snacks and anything else I think I may need on my adventures. On the front there are 2 zippered pockets which work great for keeping pens, paperclips, alligator clips, post its or anything small really.

The straps are also very comfortable. I was able to wear, take off and put on this bag (packed to the max) during a full 12 hour days of traveling and flying with ease, and no uncomfortable-ness of my shoulders/back or anything.

My son now has a laptop of his own for school for remoting in and day-to-day coursework; we all know how teenagers can sometimes be a little less gentle on things so we wanted to get him something durable, stylish and capable of holding as much as his locker (without looking ridiculously large).

We found it with this laptop backpack and, so far, he’s continued to take care of it and says he “fits in with the other kids at school. ” This one might even last him into college; recommended!.

In other reviews for these types of bags, they tell me that this size of notebook or laptop has problems fitting into the backpacks. This one does not have this issue. My new ASUS 17. 3″ display notebook fits fine in either large sections.

Also there are plenty of “pockets” to store things like the charger, USB hub, and even a rather large, longer range, external USB network adapter. I have another “bag” for my 15″ laptop that does not have as many pockets or room to fit all of my “do-dads” and room for my needed “work folders”.

This one has enough room in the front pocket for a thick 3-ring binder, letter sized notepads, etc. along with the notebook. As I say, works great.

The fragrances were amazing, they all brought out a different characteristic.

Lovely scent for the summer/spring but lasting power isn’t long.

Great bag to bring when travelling, going to beach or need to carry things when shopping. It is lightweight, packable, you can stick it in your suitcase or in the car, great for day trips. Bought 2 more for family members who were as impressed with it.

I just got home from my vacation. My new Solo back pack save me money at the airport. I loaded my back pack with all the heavy weighted items in two suit cases and the back pack held up!!! The Solo back pack is well worth it!!!.

Bought this backpack for my college kid. He loved it! Plenty of space for his books and notebooks and the protective padding is perfect for his laptop. Has enough space for extra stuff and not bulky at all.

Seems to be well built and sturdy. Lots of room for accessories. Unfortunately I ordered the wrong one and had to return it. Almost kept it anyway to use for something else. My laptop was too big for it.

This bag is similar to the men’s version (Farpoint 40). My wife ordered the XS/S, which comes in a 38 litre version. She fines the fit nice and comfortable for her relatively short torso, although the larger size would have probably worked also.

The pack is perfect as a carry on and the backpack straps stow nicely inside a zippered pocket. The two large storage areas, plus smaller (accessible) inside zippered pocket are ample to hold a few days worth of clothes and gear.

She loves the Mistry Grey colour (much nicer than the green).

I am a 5’2″ tall, 115 lbs petite woman with a torso length of about 16. 5″ (42 cm) and the XS/S size fits me nicely. (Size of backpack depends on your torso length, not your height. ) I have the Misty Grey, which is more of an olive colour (not beige!).

I’ve had this pack for about a year now, and I have used it in 5 trips, ranging from 3 to 9 days. The 38L capacity of the XS/S size is enough to pack at least a week’s worth of clothing, as long as you are not packing lots of heavier clothes.

The U-shaped opening makes the main compartment easily accessible, while the turquoise internal colour makes it easy to find things (and it is a very nice colour). The 2 internal compression straps really helps flattening the pack.

The external compression straps are attached to a flap that goes around the zippers of the main and laptop compartments and can hide the lockable zippers for extra security (which I appreciate). The harness and hip belts are padded enough to make it comfortable for maybe a few hours of carrying the pack on your back, or just to get you from the airport to the hotel and vice versa.

The frame is wonderful as it really helps with the distribution of weight (no lower back pain for me). The zippered panel for stowing away the harness and hip belt if you need to check in the bag is one of the features that I was specifically looking for when I was deciding for a pack.

It also comes with a shoulder strap when you want to carry it duffle bag style (though for petite women, I do not recommend it for a long time if the pack is full). I use the mesh pockets outside for snacks, wet face towel, or other small things but not for water bottle.

I use a water bladder on my trips which I attached on the daisy chains of the pack. The laptop sleeve is indeed placed in the middle of the pack and is lightly padded. Osprey likely did this because the frame makes the side of the pack closest to your back uneven for a laptop.

Knowing this part of the design, I bought a different bag (Timbuk2 Classic Messenger) for my laptop for some of my trips. I did try to use the laptop compartment on my last trip – I cushioned the front of the laptop with a soft jacket, and a cardigan on the main compartment side.

To avoid unnecessary pressure points in my laptop, I packed the main compartment as flat as possible. The only reason I did not travel with this packing initially is that it pushed the weight of my backpack to almost 10lbs (I was initially worried with the weight on my back).

I did try it again on my way back home from that same trip, and it was fine. So, your laptop can be pack nicely in this backpack, just maybe add some cushion if you want and be wary of the weight. One thing that I noticed in my last trip is that the frame seems to be on the flexible side, as it looks like the lower back part of the frame expanded from my uneven packing.

Not quite sure if this is supposed to happen, but it is something I will have to look at more closely. For now, I will have to make sure to pack it as flat (boxy) as possible. Those who are considering this bag should know that this is more of a hybrid bag than a true travel pack or backpacking pack.

Hence, it will have some good features from both types of packs, but it won’t really excel in things that make a travel or a backpacking pack really great. Still, I think that this pack is great and I highly recommend it, as long as you understand what it can and cannot do.

Remember: Every pack is made different, and every one has a different body. Just because a pack works for most, that does not mean it will work for everyone. And just because a pack does not work for someone, it does not mean it’s a bad pack.

Try the pack first, with weights in it, before you commit to it.

This thing is great! Easy to pull out or put away the straps when you need or don’t need them, it’s lightweight, comfortable to have on your back for some time when moving around the airports or walking around places.

It’s easy to get into and the covers which hide the zippers are a super nice feature adding to the safety of the bag. There are many compression straps creating the versatility of this bag to be a weekend or a longer trip bag.

The water bottle pockets work great to!! Stuff and go!.

I planned to read this over a week. but from the moment I started reading I couldn’t put it down. It felt like one of those big, juicy chats with your best friend. Crying, laughing, commiserating over mistakes and celebrating the many joys of a life less ordinary.

The author is courageous, inspiring and above all else, honest. She takes your hand, and gently leads you from the well beaten path of consumerism and materialism into an enchanting realm of adventure, life and love.

And it is all the better, because it is real.

What a great read this was. Makes even better reading when it’s true and written from the heart. The author is courageous, brave and now much more self assured. I hope there is another one in the making.

When I bought it I meant to read just the first pages until later but couldn’t put it down. for a good few hours!! What I love about the book is that it’s upbeat and there is a happy vibe throughout, Evie and Emmie living the life to the full.

It’s just so inspiring and makes me feel like I too can do it with my child. It’s easy to be dragged into “keep up with the joneses”. The book made me think about life and to step back and re-think how I can appreciate it in the way that makes us feel more alive.

I’m very dissapointed. I bought this backpack as a replacement to the same model I bought 5 years ago. It held up to use and abuse for 5 years. So I decided to get another one, however the materials for this backpack are terrible.

The straps feel flimsy and of low quality, the zippers get stuck even though it’s brand new. I can’t believe that I got ripped off. I was expecting the same quality since it’s literally the same model I had.

I wish I could get a refund.

Nice color and design CONS: Tucked in zippers harder to open Hard to see inside either pocket Straps could be more comfortable I originally bought this because I was looking for a small backpack to hold a water bottle, maybe 1 notebook/folder, and a handful of small objects (i.

e. keys, hand sanitizer). While I like the slim profile of this bag, it’s slightly too rounded to fit a folder—the top corners have to be curled in order to fit, which was a little disappointing since the backpack is otherwise the perfect size for holding a single folder/notebook.

I was able to fit a 22 oz. water bottle and a tumbler of the same size side-by-side in addition to a thick book, a pair of over-the-head headphones, a wallet, and other small items. Space wasn’t an issue, but it was definitely hard to see inside the main compartment, partly because of the dark fabric and partly because the front panel doesn’t come out very far when unzipped.

This would be less of an issue if there wasn’t a “hooded” structure at the top obstructing the view of the inside. The smaller pocket is similarly inconvenient; the zipper is so tucked in that the opening to reach into it ends up being quite small, and because it’s so flat, it’s hard to see inside, especially when there’s more than one item inside.

The zippers are also a little frustrating to use because they’re so tucked in. There’s a key clip inside the main compartment that I find a little awkwardly placed. When my keys are attached, they sit at the bottom of the bag, where it feels like they’ll be tossed around and potentially scratch the other items in my bag.

The backpack serves its purpose and is pretty good for the price (I bought this with a 20% off coupon), but the small inconveniences of using it leave something to be desired. I don’t regret the purchase (I’m always looking for eco-friendly/recycled products), but next time I will probably look for other options.

This Revive Mini backpack is nothing but good. It has an urban style. The color is workable. The price is sensible. It hard to believe that this backpack is made from recycled bottles. I recommend this bag to my family, my friends and my coworkers.

Perfect size, look, good for any small backpack needs for kids or adults. Material and quality are great. Great service, when package went missing, they resent another immediately.
