Some common choices include grubs, worms, and swimbaits. These lure types can be effective for both trout and redfish, and can be fished in a variety of ways to suit the conditions and the angler’s preferences.
20 Best Soft Plastics For Trout And Redfish
1. Berkley Gulp! Saltwater Shrimp – New Penny – 4″
Berkley Gulp Shrimp 4″ Soft Plastic Fishing Lure The Gulp! Shrimp is arguably the most popular tournament bream soft bait in Australia, the reason is simple, they work! A huge colour range is available to cover all situations from natural Camo and Banana Prawn to hi vis Nuclear Chicken and Lime tiger and everything in between.
Just about all fish love to eat prawns, the Gulp! Shrimp is a perfect choice to take advantage of this fact. They can be fished in many different ways using different Nitro jig heads depending on the situation and the target species.
Fish them on the bottom with short sharp jerks to imitate a fleeing prawn, lightly weighted for fishing structure such as boats and pontoons, unweighted over sand flats and weedbeds. Features: Gulp releases 400 times more scent than plastic baits.
Gulp is available in a huge range of shapes and sizes. Gulp has been proven effective on just about every Australian species of fish.
Didn’t work as a substitute for frozen shrimp in a canal that is filled with shrimp-loving fish–sheepshead, saltwater catfish, snapper. They wouldn’t even look at it. Will snip off the whiskers and try them as artificial minnows for bass and trout.
Disappointed. My wife was hoping they would replace the stinky frozen shrimp.
I Heard that they catch a lot of fish, so I bought a pack of the “natural” color, and my dad(I’m only 14 and this was my first time fishing the texas coast) bought the “new penny” color. Honestly though, the color didn’t even seem to make a diffrence.
between the two of us, only 4 fish were caught!(not including pinfish, which were caught on a size 10 hook and a peice of gulp) not a single gulp was snagged either. the fish plainly steal it. here in padre island(where we were vacationing) it was trout, ribbonfish and pinfish stealing it.
two trout were caught and to gulf toadfish were caught. we ended using up every last gulp. so i put on a bass lipless crank, and finaly nailed a redfish. the point is, next time we go, i will still buy, but will use a small stinger treble hook.
Discovered Gulp Shrimp years back and thought the bait was way too hard to catch fish which I learned very quickly was incorrect, the flounder and it seemed like every other fish species loved them and they were TUFF as nails.
Expensive but you could use one for many fish catches and they worked, so worth it. But that brings us to today’s Gulp shrimp, still catch fish but. shrimp of today is very soft, very possible to use one shrimp per flounder, if the fish shakes the shrimp often tears and flings off jighead making it useless.
Also the tails of multiple shrimp will fall victim to trash fish which rarely happened in the past. I have noticed 3 changes to the softness of Gulp over the year as it has evolved to very soft. Soft is good for freshwater but very venerable in saltwater applications.
I used to say it was worth the extra money to purchase Gulp but now I would say due to the durability the cost would not be worth it versus other scented brands that have twice the baits per pack for same money.
Still like and will use other Berkley products and baits but hope they will at least go back to the mid-range on softness for saltwater Gulp.
The Egret Baits Vudu Shrimp lure has a 4/0 4X strong hook that ensures solid hooksets. This lure is best fished from a popping cork when targeting slot redfish and speckled trout. The Vudu is constructed with a Kevlar weave through the body and tail to enhance the lures overall durability, which is also segmented for a realistic action.
These Egret Vudu shrimp really catch the fish. I’m not sure what it is about these lures but they draw a lot of bites. These are hands down the best artificial shrimp I’ve ever fished. I purchased several different colors and have caught fish on all of them.
The Flounder love them and I do almost as well catching Reds. The Vudu shrimp have been very durable as well. All in all I would say that this is a bait everyone should have available for use.
IšverstiShow in original languageThe glo shrimp, looks real, feels real,I bought them for a trip to the sea of cortez. Gave a friend a few of the different colors,he took them to the sea of cortez. Boy did he catch the fish.
8 Different species. When I go down there in a couple of months,I plane on doing the same things. These baits are OFF THE CHART, INCREADABLE. Terry Whiddon.
IšverstiShow in original languageThis Live Target Shrimp is worth every cent, it looks and acts like a real shrimp (what it was designed to do) I am definitely using this shrimp in Port Aransas TX. Size 3in color brown comes in a pack of 4.
These revolutionary soft bait bodies made with Elaztech? are the most incredible soft baits for use in soft water. Their action and durability are unmatched. Incredibly soft. More action than traditional soft plastics.
I got a pack of these because they were out of my usual swimbaits at my local tackle shop. I live in the SF Bay Area and I wanted to get on some halibut. In two mornings I caught 5 fish one of which was a very large individual and the others of which were medium-sized.
All of them were caught on a single bait and it is still very much intact! If you know anything about halibut you know they have nasty teeth so this was very impressive to me. Anything convincing enough to induce a strike from an elder halibut is more than good enough for me! The only thing is that their 4″ bait is more of a 3″ bait.
Great 4″ size paddle tail swim-baits. my absolute favorites! Advantages: Performs well, Quality, Style/Design, Value for money, super durable 3x ” You will NOT find a softer more durable or livelier action paddle tail than these baits.
Granted, alittle tricky or mabe an extra step to rigg them properly but still well worth it. I use 2 style jig heads for ALL BASS, 1) “Strike King Red Fish Magic Saltwater Jig Heads” 2) “Bass Assasin Jig heads + use a drop of super glue.
Tip: pick jigs with shorter style hooks or just DON’T rig the bait TOO FAR up any jig head for that matter. Even a 1/4″ makes a huge deal in tail action. It’s totally adjustable and you can fish all day with JUST ONE BAIT.
Stick with the solid colors. I agree the tail can come off on the 2 tone colors but All I use is either Blue Glass or Avocado and you can pretty much cover everything. You can get other colors online as well.
Looking as realistic as possible is the key to any soft baits success, the Z-Man MinnowZ hit that nail right on the head. This bait is soft, durable, and designed to have one of the most lifelike swimming actions on the market today.
The split dorsal ensures a completely weedless rigging.
For years, I have been fishing primarily brackish waters for stripers, specks, and drum using a variety of softbait lures. Without question, the Z-man Elaztech paddletails, specifically the DieZel/MinnowZ rigged with the Texas eye jighead has been the most consistent in catching fish.
The paddle tails have great action and can be fished a variety of ways. They are very durable and do not lose color or shape over time. The one minor issue I have, although not unique to Z-Man, is that sometimes after much use, the paddle tail doesn’t always stay rigged in position and can slide down.
I keep a little super glue in my tackle bag to take care of that. Overall a great product.
I have used these baits for both fresh and saltwater fishing and they work great for both. As most people find they can be a little tricky to put onto a jig head but once you get the hang of it they stay onto the jig much better than other soft baits.
I have found that working these baits slowly along the bottom produces the best results for bass and other species. You can use the same bait all day and catch multiple fish on it opposed to other baits that tear easily.
I find that a 1/8 oz trout eyz jig head is a perfect match for this size bait. I have had success with many colors but opening night and green lantern are my two favorites.
The Z Man Swimmin’ Trout Trick features a unique ribbed body and exclusive curved paddle tail that produce a vibrant, undulating swimming action. Originally designed for targeting seatrout, the Trout Trick is a versatile bait with a lifelike action that has also proven effective for bass, stripers, redfish, snook, flounders, and more.
Sized perfectly for the Z Man Trout Eye Jigheads, the Z Man Swimmin’ Trout Trick is a proven producer for a variety of inshore and freshwater species.
This is becoming a go to bait for me. I used these in July fishing the sound at the Outer Banks. The fishing was not on fire but I was regularly getting bites and catching fish. I caught a few blues, trout, and some smaller fish that I did not know.
These lures take a beating and last a very long time. My son and his friend were using other baits and were not having the same success that I was.
I used these moodring and caught 3 little trout back to back on a bad fishing day. I wasn’t even trying very hard, just playing around, as we hadn’t had much luck all day. I will be using these next time we go fishing for trout, and I bet they will be amazing when the conditions are more ideal.
They are very pretty to look at too, which is always nice. I didn’t even have any pro-cure on them when I caught the fish. They would have been keepers in Louisiana, but we were in MS, so we had to put them back.
Still a lot of fun on an otherwise uneventful day.
Fishing inshore here in North Carolina one can go through a lot of plastic baits with pinfish and others pulling off the tails of the bait. But this Z-man plastic is really tough and saves me time and money.
Legendary Trout Trick action and attraction, now available in 10X Tough ElaZtech construction! Pairs perfectly with Trout Eye jigheads Offered in a variety of top regional saltwater colors 5″ length, 6 baits per pack Made in the USA Developed and popularized by former tournament bass angler and saltwater guide Bob Sanders and now available in Z-Man’s exclusive 10X Tough ElaZtech material, the TroutTrick is absolutely deadly not just on spotted seatrout, but also redfish, flounder, stripers, bass, and more! To fish the TroutTrick, simply give the rod two sharp twitches, then allow the bait to fall vertically to the bottom on a semi-slack line.
These are incredible, extremely durable, fish catching baits! I typically use these under a Bomber Paradise Popper extreme here in North Carolina! A true, fish catching, go to bait! I always have a rod rigged up this way.
I have caught so many Trout, Redfish, and flounder with these baits.
I have no idea what it is about this shape that makes it so desirable. I fish for trout and redfish, almost exclusively, and when drifting the flats, this bait seems to catch more fish than any other.
I love the durability of all of the Z-Man baits and am amazed at how many more casts I get than friends that spend time replacing less durable baits. After my wife saw how many packs of Trout Tricks I have neatly organized in my boat, I can no longer talk about her shoe collection.
The first time I used these was in the surf fishing for snook. I basically tried everything with no success, I put on a trout trick bait in opening night color and proceeded to catch 7 snook. That was an epic day for me, it is now a go to bait for.
Matrix Shad is a soft plastic lure perfect for both fresh and saltwater fishing. The Matrix Shad “Holy Joely” color is a perfect match for clear water. The bait is clear sprinkled with glitter and a nice reflective coat.
Of course the Matrix Shad “Holy Joely” features the classic paddle tail combined with an extremely tough bait to make the perfect mixture of durability and action. When the shrimp are in this is the go to bait.
Exactly what said it was and great quality for cheaper than at Academy. Not only that but when I opened the package there was a hand written post-it note that said Good Luck and signed. That alone made me so happy that I will be a lifetime customer now.
Any one that fishes for spec’s or reds, simply must have these in their tackle box. The best overall lure for searching for fish and just about anything will hit them. Larger in the summer and smaller in the winter.
This is a very popular bait in south Louisiana and I understand why. I threw this bait exclusively my last two fishing trips and caught a total of 10 slot reds. These are excellent baits for red fish, trout, and flounder.
I tend to pair them with an 1/8 oz jig head and often an inline or jig spinner. Many people fish them under a popping cork with success as well. My favorite colors are Green Hornet and Midnight Mullet.
These suspending lures combine a mullet profile and wounded minnow action to entice trophy Trout, Redfish, Snook, Tarpon, Striper and more. Catch 2000 and Catch Jr. have been scientifically weighted for neutral buoyancy at 10″ to 16″, allowing fishermen to fish the shallows without hanging the bottom.
With a slow twitching retrieve they come “alive” in the water, darting from side-to-side, resulting in monstrous hook-ups. Catch 2000 and Catch Jr. remain in the strike zone longer than other baits which often tempt or aggravate “non-feeding” game fish.
Catch 2000 – A coastal favorite! Retrieve with rod tip up or down. Ideal for wade fishermen when game fish are short-striking topwaters.
This is a dynamite lure for Snook and trout in Florida! My son and I caught numerous nice snook and trout with the 3 1/2″ model. My 2 favorite colors are the glow in the dark and the Red head/Silver Scale.
I probably shouldn’t be telling you guys this, but these things slay Snook. Okay, I’m not going to tell you what color. can’t give away all my secrets. I call this the “Do nothin” lure. To me it looks like a stick, I mean it just doesn’t have that much action.
But who am I to argue with Mr. Snook? Here’s a tip: try working it slow, real slow. I’ve had lots of hits while the thing is just laying there, “Doin’ nothin”. Try it. You’ll like it.
Features an umbrella styled spinnerbait called Quadzilla. The bait is comprised of 4 spinning willow leaf blades and a spinnerbait body. This single hooked bait imitates the appearance of a school of baitfish without the weight of an umbrella rig.
It is light enough to fish in shallow water, and with only one hook it fishes more weedless than an umbrella rig. Quadzilla allows you to bring baitfish to the fish. A weighted keel ensures an upright retrieval every cast.
Once your day on the water is complete, the Quadzilla collapses for easy storage.
Used these swimbaits on a great striped bass lake and they worked real well. I used the electric chicken color which has never been used on this lake and it worked real well to catch a lot of striped bass as well as large sand bass.
The WildEye Live series is the most realistic series of baits available. Internally weighted body creates an incredibly life-like swimming. The realistic color patterns and shape of the bait is backed up with 3-D holographic WildEye, holographic swimmin’ flash foil and a tough yet soft outer body.
This swimbait has a stocker trout body and color pattern and a back VMC needle point hook and a treble belly hook. Natural color patterns & shapes. Holographic 3-D WildEye. Life-like swimming action.
Wow, didn’t give this lure much thought, but hooked a fish on third cast. After 1/2 hour and three nice fish I have only praise for this lure. Wouldn’t hesitate to purchase. P. s. I was fishing in a hard fished area.
I got this a couple of weeks ago. I have used it in several lakes. I have cast and retrieved it and trolled. I have yet to get a single bite. All the lakes have pike, Bass, and walleye. No hits yet. I will say it looks great and has a decent weight.
The Original DOA 3″ Shrimp and its big brother, the 4″ Shrimp. The durability and versatility of DOA Shrimp is still “the gold standard” in artificial lures. From Bass Tournaments in freshwater to Redfish tournaments in saltwater, DOA Lures are proven to catch more fish.
The difference between the 3″ & 4″ shrimp, the 3″ shrimp weighs 1/4 oz; the 4″ shrimp weighs 1/2 oz and is ideal for casting with plug gear or in windy conditions.
If you’re sight casting and the fish are hungry, these will work just fine. These are great lures for sight fishing. Just cast the lure behind or to the opposite direction of the fish. Reel in very very slow, give your rod a few twitches to let it bounce a bit.
When the lure falls to the bottom, that is when they will strike it. Glow is my favorite pattern to use. However, I wouldn’t use these lures if you plan on fishing off of a pier. Also, the hooks tend to rust a lot once the lure is used heavily.
Other than that, this is a great lure to use if you cannot use live bait.
During this pandemic many local tackle shops have begun to increase their prices. I was able to find this incredible pack of 10 Gold Glitter DOA Shrimp Lures for the price of just 3 at the local tackle shops.
I’ve always supported mom and pops businesses but with all the financial uncertainty we need to help anglers so we can put food on our table without price gouging.
The Dynamic HD Trout is used by anglers across the United States because of its versatility. Although this lure was designed for trout, it is excellent for catching a variety of species. The Dynamic HD Trout offers a real life-like profile, plus exceptional casting distance, swim action, and maneuverability.
I was recently fishing a gold medal stretch of river here in Colorado when this lure in Ghost White really shined. I was the first car in the parking lot and the last to leave. All day the only fishermen I saw up there (bordering wilderness) were fly fishermen until about mid day when two other spin fishermen came by while I was fishing this lure in Brown Trout and doing pretty well.
Those two fishermen also had HD Trout lures tied on. Later in the day when they were heading back towards the parking area I asked them how they had done and they told me the Chartreuse Shad was really working well but a fish had broken it off the line.
I ended up tying on my Ghost White ‘cuz it was the closest HD Trout pattern I had to the Chartreuse Shad. That’s when things really picked up. Before that it had been slow for hours with various types of lures.
Now it was on. 15-20 inch brown trout were excited about this new offering. I saw things I hadn’t seen before in multiple trips to this river. On one cast I threw this lure just about straight up stream in a pretty fast bottle neck and had to reel about as fast as I could to keep some tension on the line.
About 6 feet from the bank just as I was about to pull the lure out of the water an 18 inch brown nabbed the lure. The last fish of the day was the best though. With only about an hour left ’til sunset to walk back out I cast the lure across a pretty fast section to near the rock island between the two channels of the river.
The lure was only in the water for about 1 or 2 seconds and had only traveled a few feet when a 20 inch brown hammered it. he tasted really good. Thanks Dynamic for helping to make my fishing trip.
I LOVE Dynamic Lures – HD Trout Lures!!! To me, they work better than Rapala Countdowns and are cheaper 🙂 I used to LOVE Rapala Countdowns because of their versatility on the various fish they can catch, but the Dynamic Lure’s HD Trout does the same and at times, much better.
I still stock up on both if I can find deals on them :-).
This is my go to trout crank! Great action at slow retrieve. This crank will only dive 2-3′ but has a slow sink rate so if you want to run it at say 9′ deep, just let it sink for a fee seconds before starting your retrieve.
In very clear water on sunny days I like the transparent body colors. On cloudy days or in stained water, I like the silver/black body. Body Size is small but just right for skittish trout. I’ve caught Rainbows, Cutthroat and Browns on this crank! Its Light weight gave me pause whether you could cast it out of your shadow but with 4# mono and a 7′ or longer ML or UL spinning rod, I had no trouble casting 60+feet.
Hooks are above average quality and razor sharp. All have run straight, right out of the box. Good selection of color schemes for all light and water color conditions.
Tsunami Swim Shad are holographic soft plastic lures and are available in a variety of models for casting, cranking, twitching or jigging applications in fresh or salt water. High-contrast etched holographic foil and transparent finish patterns represent the most popular bait species or strike triggering colors.
These soft body vinyl lures, produced exclusively for Bimini Bay Outfitters Performance Products, provide high quality, uniform swimming action and consistent performance for angler satisfaction. The extra tough formulation used to produce these lures will stand up to multiple toothy fish.
All of these lures are tank tested to assure proper performance and strike triggering action. Precision weight balance designs in all models assure improved, tumble free casting performance and a better-balanced swimming or jigging action.
Premium Mustad Ultra Point black nickel hooks are molded into each model for extra strength and sure hook sets. Black nickel hooks offer excellent penetration corrosion resistance. The Cork Lure, Cork Demon, Jointed Cork Lure and Bloodhound use premium Mustad extra strong treble hooks.
Pre rigged Bait models in lengths of 2″ to 9″ are right for almost all fresh and salt water techniques and applications. Tough vinyl bodies stand up to multiple hook-ups. Swim Tail and Curl Tail actions are designed to trigger fast, hard strikes.
Cork Lures and Bloodhound Lures are precisely designed and balanced to”walk the dog” with the slightest twitch of the rod tip. Slow, steady retrieves result in “V” wakes that trigger explosive strikes.
Holographic Mouse and Bluegill lures are excellent freshwater choices for bass, pike, pickerel and other predators. Top water explosions or stunning subsurface strikes will please any angler. Un rigged shad bodies, squids and eels in lengths from 3″ to 12″ are ideal for custom rigging on jig heads, spreader bars, dredges and umbrella rigs for inshore and big game pursuits.
I bought several of the Tsunami swim shad soft bait lures for a recent striper fishing trip. The lures worked very well as we caught our boat limit for keeper striper not to mention the number of stripers which we threw back.
Everyone was very pleased with the results from using these lures.
I love Tsunami swim shads. I use all the colors and weights. Fish them low and slow. In a sweeping current, cast them out and reel just enough to tighten the line. The current will do the rest as the lure swings across the current towards shore.
You can feel the tail working (small vibrations). Sometimes I give two of three sharp pulls with the rod to simulate a darting fish but I’m not convinced this helps. Just reel enough to keep the line tight.
Increase/decrease the lure size to stay near the bottom without snagging. Hint: cast upstream of a bridge piling and let the lure sink and them swim right next to hit.
As though building 10X Tough ElaZtech baits wasn’t enough, Z-Man has taken another giant leap in soft bait technology. The introduction of NEW SCENTED baits are extremely alluring to saltwater species.
While a number of other scented baits are notorious for their stiff, lifeless feel, Z-Man ElaZtech Scented BaitZ are incredibly soft and buoyant and feature life-like detail. Each bait is infused with 100% Natural scents derived from real baitfish, not some lab technician’s idea of what will attract fish.
These natural scents provide the precise smell that triggers strikes from saltwater gamefish. And when a fish strikes, the scent means that they’re likely to hold on longer, increasing chances for a solid connection with the hook.
Sniff out the big ones with New Z-Man ElaZtech Scented BaitZ!.
The most versatile bait that I use. Anything from bass in freshwater to big bruiser reds in salt. Can be rigged multiple ways. I like to rig them on the ZMan Chinlockz hooks. Fish them slow, fast, or under a popping cork, on the bottom, mid column or at the surface.
They catch fish! They also save me money because of their durability. Generally only use 1 all day unless I want a different color. Did I mention they catch fish?.
Let me just say WOW I’ve fished with gulp softbaits for my entire life and I’ve always found them good and reliable always catching a feed UNTIL NOW. The pain of having your softbaits tails bitten off and having to replace them is a pain in the arse, or when you leave them on the rod for too long and they dry out into a stale ball.
This is no longer an issue with me ever since buying these. One softbait will last me a whole day throigh some grunty reef fish absolutely destroying the same bait over and over. Honestly think it’s changed my whole softbaiting experience catching more fish and not spednding all day waisting softbaits.
I had an opportunity to go to Canada for some walleye fishing. I was blown away by this bait. It is scented, very stretchy and the durability was amazing. If you don’t hang up and lose you jig you can catch several dozen fish and they still look great.
At the end of the day put it back in the bag to absorb some more scent. The next day catch a bunch more!!! These are amaizing!.
L&S Mirrolure Lil John 4. 25″ – Blue Moon Don’t let this unusual shape fool you! Lil John is tournament proven and remains a secret weapon for many tournament professionals and guides. Lil John’s scent infused with a special shrimp formula, which allows fishermen to catch more trophy fish.
Lil John’s special tube shape body allows for great action and unmatched casting distance. The incomparable durability of this bait makes it the ultimate soft plastic bait. Excellent for trout, redfish and flounder.
Accidentally bought a pack of these without paying attention, thinking they were paddle tails. Ran out of other soft plastics and decided to tie one on just to see what happened. Let me tell you, they catch fish.
I’m in Bermuda where the water is crystal clear, so everything that hits these can see that it’s not an actual fish. Doesn’t matter. I’ve caught barracuda, snapper, squirrelfish, lizard fish, jacks, rock hinds- anything and everything eats these.
Ended up buying a few more packs because they earned the nickname “old faithful” with my buddy and me. Only color I’ve bought and thrown so far is opening night. If it aint broke, don’t fix it.
These soft baits have been a go to for most of this years inshore trout fishing. They hold the hook very well and will stay usable for 10+ fish. I use them with a 1/4 oz or a long shank hook under a popping cork to find and catch some really nice Louisiana trout.
I started using these baits a year ago in the lower Pamlico River and Sound. I find them effective and tough. The wide variety of colors can be used to address the varied water conditions we experience.
I think the embedded sparkles make a big difference. The baits are tough which is important as they hold up to needlefish and pinfish which are prevalent. A great value for inshore fishing.

With its classic bass fishing design the YUM Dinger is a versatile worm that delivers real results in nearly any fishing situation. This soft plastic bait presents a very subtle lifelike action that even highly-pressured fish can’t resist.
YUM Dingers also have a unique hook slot that provides better hook-ups and they’re tougher than similar baits so you get more fish per bait than any other. The versatility of the YUM Dinger cannot be overstated as it’s equally effective on a Texas rig Carolina rig wacky rig weighted weightless or any other technique; bass just go crazy for it.
There are several reasons why. This bait is. first of all, it can be used in pretty much all different situations, right? You can Carolina rig it, you can Texas rig it, you can put it on a split shot, on a drop shot, wacky rigging is a very, very popular way of doing it.
Simply just weightless, just rig it on a 2/0 or 3/0 hook, and just let it fall on itself. It just does this nice, undulating action as it falls. It’s wonderful. The thing about the YUM bait though, what I like about it is, first of all, the plastic that it has, it’s a stronger plastic so it lasts longer.
It doesn’t tear as easy. So you catch a lot more fish on a single bait without having to get tore up, and you lose a bunch of baits and just blast through a whole bunch of baits. That’s an expensive way of fishing.
The Yum Dinger is perfect for Wacky Rigging when searching for both largemouth and smallmouth bass. I have great success when using a dinger with a wacky rig when Texas, Carolina and Ned rigs are not producing.
The most productive colors for me are Green Pumpkin, Watermelon/Red Flake and Motor Oil. I prefer to rig the 3″, 4″, and 5″ Yum Dinger weightless on Gamakatsu Finesse Wide Gap Hooks 1/0, 2/0, and 3/0 respectively.
This combination sinks slowly and will entice bites when other presentations fail. A very slight twitch as the dinger is falling often get an immediate strike.
My go to stick Bait Worms are Yum Dingers or Big Bite Bait. I have been fishing these plastic Worms for about 14 years. I fish them every way I can think of. The Colors, Sizes, Price, & Availability are a huge help plus the quality is good enough.
These 2 brands have earned their keep in my boats. I’ve been sucked into buying the pricey brands and they have proven to be just that Pricey but no better.
The conclusion of soft plastics for trout and redfish is that they are an effective bait for both fish. They are able to imitate a variety of prey items that both fish feed on, and they are easy to use.
