Socks for running are designed to prevent blisters by providing a layer of protection between the foot and the shoe. They are usually made from a breathable material that helps to wick away sweat and keep the foot dry.
Additionally, they may have a padded heel or toe area to help reduce friction.
20 Best Socks For Running To Prevent Blisters
1. Balega Blister Resist No Show Socks – Ethereal Blue/Aqua S
Moisture control is crucial to preventing blisters, and the Balega Blister Resist socks deliver state-of-the-art moisture management with a combination of synthetic and natural fibers. Balega’s proprietary Drynamix fabric helps wick moisture away from the skin, while soft mohair keeps your feet cool and comfy.
The high-tech design of the sock also reduces frictions at common blister points. If your flat-out pacing on High Sierra trails has your feet overheating, try out the Blister Resist socks to help keep moisture under control.
I bought two pairs of these socks 5 years ago for mother/daughter backpacking trip (2 weeks) on the John Muir Trail. I’ve used them many more times as boot socks over the years. I’ve also hiked on the Tahoe Rim Trail (1 week), in Hawaii with Teva’s in rainforest and lava rock areas, and up to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon (day hike) in 115 degree heat from the Colorado River after rafting in those same socks! I discovered Balega training for my first marathon as a 49-year old runner.
I’ve never had a blister in Balega socks nor lost a toe nail (did lose a big toe nail after cycling from Montana through the Canadian Rockies in another brand). My husband and daughters all wear Balega now.
My only wish is that Balega made breathable, comfortable, stay-up, arch compressive crew socks in plain black, gray, brown, or navy that I could wear daily, with slacks and women’s flats wear when I can’t wear the colorful, more bulky Balega athletic socks!.
I used to buy these when I was running a lot. They used to hold up well. Originally purchased at an Rei in 2016. I finally had to purchase new ones a few years later. Got it on Amazon. They didn’t last longer than 6 months and I wasn’t using them to run anymore.
That’s why I purchased the socks directly from Balega. Despite getting it from Balega the quality seems like it has changed since 2016. Despite the fact that it doesn’t seem to hold up as well as it did in 2016 they are still super comfortable.
Until I find a better product at the same price point I will prolly keep purchasing these.
Balega makes the best socks I have ever worn! As someone that spends 2-3 hours per day, 6 days a week working out, I’m very protective of my feet. These socks are supportive, cushioned, anti odor, and you cannot feel the seams.
I also like that my feet always feel dry in them even when I’m sweating buckets (in full wool socks my feet feel wet for some reason). I wear Balega not just to work out now but all the time as my feet no longer like anything else.
We are on our feet all day every day, these are well worth every penny!!.
I bought these socks to help my boyfriend with his very sensitive feet. He wears size 13 shoes so finding socks was a little tough. They had to be light, thin and fit properly because most socks squish his toes and makes it difficult for him to walk.
He also has Achilles tendinitis and it’s hard to walk barefoot with sandals as well as wearing sneakers. These socks keep his feet cool but yet protect. I would recommend them to anyone who has foot problems.
Have worn Wrights for many years and the Running II for the last several. Good weight to take you into and out of the winter here in MN, but not too heavy for warm weather. Originally started to wear because of a blister problem and recently have found them very useful with my metatarsalgia.
I have the thinning fat pad type and the reduction of friction really increases the distance I can cover without pain. These socks wear well, wick sweat and dry out quickly should you step in a puddle.
The cushion is medium and is comfy without making your shoes fit too tight. I particularly like the compression in the arch and up the calf. Work nearly as well as compression stockings for me.
I went on a hiking trip a few years back on the Appalachia’s trail near Harpers Ferry W. Va. I was having a severe case of toe rubbing inside my shoe sidewall on my hike. Stopped off the trail to a hiking supply shop in Harpers Ferry to pick up some supplies and saw a pair of Wrighsocks hanging.
They looked very well made but I thought they were a little pricey but my feet didn’t care so I rolled the dice and decided to purchase. I got back on the hike and was so overjoyed on how comfortable the WriteSocks felt on my already sore feet.
Fast forward I replaced all my socks in my drawer with WriteSocks from winter style to summer styles and to athletic styles. It has been a large investment but one of my best investments! Thumbs up to the double wall design and the smooth stitching inside and out on all the WriteSocks.

I was highly looking forward to these socks (I bought 3 pair. 2 as gifts and 1 for myself) There is not an accurate picture showing how high these socks go. I was expecting the socks to be as high as regular dress socks and they were much shorter.
Also, Ive never had a problem with a L size sock fitting my foot. I could hardly get this sock on. It was like trying to squeeze into a pair of pants from high school 15 years ago. The tightness of the sock was a little too much.
Whether this is a performance sock or not. If you want a sock that fits correctly, order at least 1 (maybe 2) sizes larger than you are used to ordering.
I am a picky sock person. These socks fit like they were custom made for me. The designs and colors also scream everything I love and stand for. They stay comfy and bright even after washing. They don’t cause my feet to sweat.
Fit like a glove. Supportive. Basically I cannot say enough good things about them. I was apprehensive about price, but compared to other compression socks they are quality and a very economical choice.
I am a customer for life. Thanks for finally making a sock I can live with and stop the Neverending sock hunt I’ve been on!!.
I bought this pair and four others. Love all of them! Colorful, cute running socks make me happy, but often they aren’t good quality. These socks are great. Lightweight, and just the right amount of compression.
The original compression socks, Swiftwicks Performance One utilizes state of the art fiber technology, offers managed moisture control, and comes in a range of sizes. These classic low-rise socks are loaded with features to keep you comfortable and blister-free.
They feature a low, one-inch rise, a sculpted footbed for superior comfort, and an olefin fiber blend that provides chemical-free moisture-wicking in a thin and ultra-light package. They also include a seamless toe interior to prevent blisters as well as managed compression technology, which eliminates bunching and hot spots by supporting all 3 arches of the foot.
Proven to reduce swelling, improve circulation, and even increase endurance, these are the socks for you.
I actually purchased the PURSUIT Business Eight socks from the clearance specifically for gravel and mountain bike riding. I live and mainly ride in central Alabama, but I make frequent trips to Georgia and North Carolina.
I have multiple pairs of the normal PURSUIT socks that I wear as everyday socks, but I do not like the thickness for riding. (But I really, really like the normal PURSUIT socks for year round everyday wear in Alabama.
) Prior to the introduction of the PURSUIT Ultralight, I purchased Swiftwick’s merino wool dress socks from Swiftwick’s clearance section as an experiment with the hopes of wearing them for riding mountain biking.
I found the dress socks to be really comfortable for mountain bike riding. However, I’ve started wearing holes in the toes and heel of the socks after approximately a year of regular use. I suppose this should be expected since the dress socks were not really designed for physical exercise.
I recently purchased a pair of PURSUIT Ultralight socks. The PURSUIT Ultralight socks fit very well, and are even more comfortable for riding than the dress socks. I hope that the reinforced toe and heel will solve the issue of wear in the toes and heel.
The 7″ PURSUIT Ultralight will become my go to socks for gravel and mountain bike riding after I wear out the four pair of dress socks. It should be noted that I wear Swiftwick’s 4″ Aspire socks for road riding, and I have never had any wear issues with the Aspire socks.
However, I developed a preference for taller, light weight wool socks for mountain biking because I typically ride more trail as the weather becomes cooler. I also got my first gravel bike in the winter months, and I started wearing the dress socks for gravel.
Even as the temperatures got warmer, I stuck with the dress socks mainly because of the 8″ height. Thin merino wool socks are very comfortable year round, and I plan to stick with the 7″ height PURSUIT Ultralight socks year round for gravel riding and mountain biking.
They feel good and they stay dry. They caused blisters. Blisters — never had blisters before on my feet. These have caused big blister on front bottom of right foot. I’ve had to stop walking for the last few days trying to heal.
I am a walker and I use trekking poles. Blister started, I guess looking back, about 1. 5 miles into a 4 mile walk. I purchased 7 pair and now I am not sure how to proceed. I washed them in cold water when received.
Let air dry. I have walked for 12 years using Speedo water shoes and Walmart MediPeds. This walk I used Speedo water shoes and Aspire One Military Compliant socks. Ended in blisters. A niece said to use moleskin.
I don’t know what that is and looking for other solutions too.
I am fussy about cycling socks, which I did not realize until I had a large collection of socks that I like for the graphics. but they just didn’t FEEL right! I kept buying more and more, looking for perfection.
I spent many hours googling every cycling sock under the sun, and the reviews led me to Swiftwick. I ordered two sizes of the Aspire to try; on paper I am an L but the M ended up being perfection. Cushy, short, not constricting.
I am still devastated that the Bianchi green was discontinued, but I am sure there will be cool colors going forward. And I honestly cannot imagine buying another cycling sock at this point. (I do need something in the rich red line to match that kit please!).
Balega’s UltraGlide No Show Socks are designed to be lightweight, yet they feature strategic protective cushioning built into the sock. Engineered with Balega’s proprietary Drynamix moisture management fiber and combined with a unique friction free yarn, these socks keep feet cool and dry while allowing free airflow for maximum comfort, performance, and durability.
Featuring an additional cushion pad across the metatarsal area for additional protection, the design helps prevent blisters by encompassing moisture, heat, and movement. The UltraGlide incorporates PFTE (a synthetic fluoropolymer of tetrafluoroethylene) into the fabric to act as a lubricant, which reduces friction and wear.
This unique lubricant is also responsible for controlled heat management, reducing heat caused by static and kinetic function to keep the skin cool. UltraGlide socks feature a contoured left and right knit construction to ensure that each sock fits the foot properly.
Lightweight construction and strategic protective cushioning help reduce hot spots and keep feet cool during activity. Friction free yarn combined with proprietary Drynamix yarn minimizes the risk of chafing and rub spots.
Compressive arch bands with ventilation panels aid with breathability and hold sock securely in place. Contoured left and right knit construction ensures the ultimate fit. Hand-linked toe closure.
These socks are synthetic, and extremely hot and slippery. I wear HOKA running shoes, and I slide around on the inside of my shoe. The synthetic ‘wicking’ of these socks make my feet sweat even more.
Very uncomfortable. Minor point: the socks are labeled ‘right’ and ‘left’. This is super annoying early in the morning when I am trying to put them on in the dark. I usually get it wrong, and later in the day realize that I have them backwards.
Can’t really tell until I look at the label. Why bother? But it does irritate my OCD to have the wrong sock on the wrong foot.
I have always struggled with getting blisters in my shoes no matter the size, width, what have you. When I learned that having pure cotton socks can cause blisters I was turned on to this brand. I absolutely love these socks, they have the best colors and are so soft and I have not gotten a single blister while walking long distances or running in my shoes.
The ASPIRE Line is thin and light for serious runners and cyclists, yet still perfect for athletes of any sport. Our Managed Compression prevents bunching and hot spots by supporting all 3 arches in the foot.
Our Linked-Toe technology prevents blisters by eliminating bunching in the toe-box. The result is a sock designed to fit your feet perfectly while helping you do what moves you.
Very warm, cushy, and comfy. Mostly happy with them. However, my one complaint is that both pairs of the Zero’s I ordered slip down in the heel – the ankle portion of the sock isn’t very snug or elastic-y.
Not so much that my Achilles rubs against my shoe when I’m actively running (with ankles slightly bent), but enough that it rubs against the top of the shoe’s heel when I’m walking. Kind of annoying, and I don’t think I’ll wear these socks other than to run in.
I recently ordered a pair of Pursuit Ones, and they do much better – I’d recommend them instead. EDIT: Swiftwick contacted me after my initial review and, true to their 100% satisfaction guarantee and without my even asking them, are replacing my pairs of Pursuit Zeros with Pursuit Ones.
Designed to fit just above the ankle and completely free of seams, these patented running socks can help increase athletic performance by helping to prevent painful skin blisters. SmartKnit ACTIVE Seamless Running Socks are made with innovative form-fitting seam-free technology, which removes all blister-causing seams, ridges, and pressure points.
The high-tech moisture-wicking fibers ensure a dry sock environment. Antimicrobial to help prevent odor in the socks. Grey color made with X-STATIC silver fibers. I bought these to try because I got a new pair of work boots. They look like cowboy boots from the top, but they have a composite toe and look like work boots when the pant leg is down. First time I wore them I didn’t have socks long enough to protect my calf and the boots rubbed and irritated my skin.
I’ve been looking for a good solution. I was pairing crew socks with a compression calf sleeve, which keeps the boots from chaffing, but it’s two pieces and can get uncomfortable at times. Plus the compression sleeves felt too constricting at times.
These turned out to be the perfect solution. The go all the way up to just above the calf, where my knee bends, and they keep the boots from chaffing, and the seamless toe keeps my feet comfortable all day.
They are tight enough to not slide down the leg, but not too tight to be constricting. And these are thick and durable, they should last a while. I’m getting ready to buy more so I have a pair for every workday.
Just the size for the smartKnit do run big. I’m a Size 13 shoe and by the size chart, I think it recommends large or even XL, but, I’ve bought Large in the past and they were too big. The part where the sock is supposed to curve from the heel up the leg would actually end up at my ankles.
I ordered these in medium and they are a perfect fit for my size 13 feet. And these might seem pricey, but they are high quality and will last a long time with care. The last time I ordered crew smartknit socks was in 2017, and I barely had to replace them now In 2022.
I trust the brand and feel these will have a comparable life span.
So I bought 1 pair of 3 different brands of diabetic socks to compare. I need a size 13 sock. The SmartKnit seamless socks are the thinnest ones, but they are a very good quality sock, but for an x-large, size 12 is more true to their limit.
The Doc Ortho XL, fit me just fine, a good quality sock, and are also the thicker of the 3 pairs I bought. They would be better suited for fall, or winter. My favorite pair, for warmer weather, are the Actifi truly soft white XL.
They are affordable, well made, fit size 13, and are comfortable, and the blend is supportive, and not too hot. They remind me of my Wigwam socks, but they don’t sit so high on my ankle. I will be buying a few more pairs of the Actifi diabetic socks.
They were all great socks, I now know which ones work for me.
These compression socks are amazing! I had multiple surgeries on my leg and required a boot. It came with 1 of these socks. I was surprised this was comfortable and easy to put on and take off. Keeps swelling down and keeps its shape after multiple washings.
I have bought several pairs and have been very pleased with my purchase.
The original, award-winning Accelerate is constructed with a fit that feels minimal and fast, with performance cushioning giving you support where it matters most. Added anti-odor technology and sweat-wicking recycled fabrics helps keep your feet dry and fresh.
Rather belatedly I’m reporting in; Christmas and new year having got in the way. They have been introduced to my feet and, I’d say, get on very well. Only using one of the three sets currently, however, am really impressed.
I queried sizes on arrival and yes they do seem good for an 11/45, despite differing sticker on packaging. They’ve had 5 outings so far and seem to stretch well over the foot. Crucially, nothing remotely blister like has occurred, both under and on top.
With my Adidas Solar Boost ST’s , I do sometimes have rubbing mid toe on top. Followed recommendations on washing, again fine. So all in all , a cracking pair of socks , lovely to finally do more fit the environment, and looking forward to introducing feet to the other two pairs! Thanks.
My apologies if I sound like a broken record when discussing the Accelerate Socks but these pairs (I have ALL colors as of last week 🙂 ) have gone farther and beyond than ANY other pair of socks that I’ve purchased.
I’ve gone through Nike Dri-Fit (2 iterations), Belaga (3 different cushion types), Under Armour running socks, and NONE come close to these. I’m currently in the process of moving to a new apartment and haven’t had much time to run, and so, knowing I’d be doing a lot of heavy object moving on my feet for hours and hours, I decided to trial the socks WITH the compression sleeves, and gosh.
they’ve been something truly different and great. Unfortunately, I’ll be cutting my running time substantially going forward as I’ll be returning to medical school from summer break, but I’ve 100% decided to ONLY wear the accelerate socks because, specially in the clinical environment, you’re both on your feet and expected to move fast at a moment’s notice, and these socks really are multi-faceted enough to tackle whatever’s thrown at them.
Pros: Very Light Very Breathable Arch Support is AMAZING!!!!!! (why I fell in love with them) Fit is great and stays on without riding down Cons: Nothing for the socks!. but washing them you definitely have to be careful.
I wash mine on delicate settings and let them AIR DRY, never put them in the drier! Lastly. There is only ONE other pair of socks that I have ever worn that have felt as light and tactile and comfortable as these do in any shoes.
and THOSE ARE 100% PURE SILK DRESS SOCKS THAT I USED A FEW TIMES A YEAR!!!. so hopefully that gives you an idea of the eye opening impact these socks have made for running, training, moving, and many more activities that require constant agile movements.
PS: Not paid or sponsored by Rockay, these socks have just made even the most ill fitting shoe or unexpected run to the store an enjoyable one. cheers! Danny.
This a great product. I bought them looking for a good sock to work for me when I run and do races. It took a little longer to get the order but due to holiday around the time of order that was expected.
Once I got them I used them a little for normal runs at the house and park but I did put a pair through a Spartan Race and they held up great. After the race was done my feet did not hurt, the socks never feel low, and handled the water great.
I know you don’t have to was them as much as normal socks but after the race I did need to wash them, I used the same pair a few days later to run a standard 10K and the socks held up like they are still new.
I will defiantly be checking out what this company has to offer for other product use and try out other products they have to offer.
Balega socks are engineered with the company’s proprietary DryNamix moisture management technology that keeps feet cool and dry while allowing free airflow for maximum comfort, performance and durability.
All of Balega’s running socks have been race tested and incorporate a hand linked seamless toe, eliminating abrasion across the top of the foot. The company also knits an extra deep heel pocket ensuring that each sock fits the foot perfectly and does not slide down during a run.
Designed with a medium volume construction. Drynamix Polyester 84%, Polyamide Nylon 14%, Elastique 2%.
Best footies I’ve purchased! Happened to stumble upon these by chance a few years ago and kept meaning to purchase a couple more pairs. Glad I finally bought two more pair from Sockgeek. com! These footies are soft, have the right amount of cushion without making your shoes tight, do not have an irritating toe seam, and they stay put.
No slipping down into your shoes. They are expensive footies but they are definitely worth the splurge. My feet are very happy. Also, SockGeek offered the best price I found and I quickly received my order.
EPIC SOCK!!!! The BEST brand sock brand ever! I run in the Hidden Comfort and LOVE them! I am 60 years old I run 3 1/2 to 4 miles five times a week 5 foot 430 pounds. When my pool is open I’ll swim three times a week as well so I’m really active.
I’m really picky about my workout gear… I happen to long this brand of sock and absolutely fell in love with them! My left foot sometimes has slight plantar fascia symptoms but with this sock there is zero! The hidden comfort cushioning just adds to the cushioning of my Brooks adrenaline shoes.
They make so many amazing incredible colors there in the last two months I’ve bought over 10 pairs! I love the socks! I wear a women’s size 8 and a size small in this sock and it’s perfect They make so many amazing incredible colors there in the last two months I’ve bought over 10 pairs! I love the socks! I wear a women’s size 8 and a size small in this sock and it’s perfect!.
Super comfy, true to size, Balega quality. I wear 7. 5 women’s shoe and ordered a small, they are a wonderful fit. I also own several pair of Hidden Contour Recycled and Silver No Show Running socks, as far as I’m concerned, they’re all wonderfully supportive and comfortable.
I wear these as my every day socks as well as for walking 3+ miles/day and though I’ve only had these ones a week or so, I have other Balega sock that are several years old that are in excellent condition.
I’ve got my fingers crossed these ones will serve me equally well.
The 1000 mile run anklet keeps feet protected and supported during running and other intense sporting activities such as racket sports and gymwork. It has a padded heel that extends to protect the Achilles tendon plus padding for the toes and ball of the foot.
Constrcuted using a specially selected fabric, the 1000 Mile Run Ankle Running Socks keep you cool, dry and comfortable at all times. The fabrication is soft against the skin and reduces friction so chafing and irritation will never dampen your day.
The fabric is also quick drying and works to wick sweat away from the skin where it can be easily evaporated so you can remain, comfortable and dry all day long. A top foot arch ventilation mesh ensures superior breathability by allowing cool air to circulate throughout the garment, creating a perfect microclimate for your feet to thrive in.
Extra padding on the toe, heel and Achilles increase underfoot comfort and shock absorption so you can go further for longer. Completing the Run Ankle Running Socks is a flat toe seam wick reduces bulk and sits comfortably against the skin to resist abrasion.
I was always having something wrong with my feet after long runs, blisters, soreness where rubbing due to sweaty feet had occurred but since wearing 1000 mile run anklet I’ve seen a massive difference.
They are padded in the right places and absorb moisture well. Much happier feet now 😀.

Definitely not the cheapest socks in the drawer. but the dual layer protects from blisters without the bulk of regular cushioned socks. Also nice low cut and good ventilation make these socks great for hot sunny runs.
Let’s see if they stand up to the full 1000 miles!.
1000 mile are the best running socks I have used. The trainer liner are good in the summer, I ve been on long runs with these and they are true to size, very comfortable and I ve not had any issues with them.
Although the dual layer felt nice, the socks were tight from the start and crawled under my feet within a minute of leaving the house. Way smaller than the size guide suggests, and lack elasticity to stay up at the heel.
With its medium padding, the short running sock “RU4 Cool Invisible” is the all-rounder sock for men. It provides balanced protection with medium cushioning and good shoe contact. Additional silicone threads on the inside prevent the sock from slipping.
A flap for padding the heel prevents friction and blisters. Fast moisture transport and an optimal fit guarantee pleasant and sporty jogging sessions.
Another great Falke purchase. I bought these to wear w/hiking/winter boots & sneakers. Fit & fabric is the very best. I also bought the shorter version of these. Love this brand. Best socks you can buy.
Very comfortable. Note: I do not put these in a clothes dryer. They dry quickly.

I love how thin these socks are!! I bought the small but think I might try the medium next time, or stretch out the current ones a little more. In any case, they are fantastic as a running sock, or sneaker sock.
I have them in white-ish (they used to be white) and now in black. These used to come in gray — that would be nice if they came back, and maybe if they came in some bold colors like bright cyan or fuchsia and orange.
Anyway, the socks have these tabs that make it easy to pull on and grab if they happen to fall into your running shoes. I like how thin the socks are because they do not make my running shoes feel too tight.
In fact, I actually do not feel these when wearing them with my running shoes. I wear my running shoes with and without socks, and with these socks, I don’t have to buy bigger running shoes. I recommend these for anyone who does not want to feel their socks or who does not want to buy bigger running shoes to fit thicker socks.
Bought these as a recommendation from the specialist at the store. First time trying synthetic material compression socks, I should have gotten these years ago! The bit of arch compression is pretty great for my flat feet and I can definitely feel the difference.
I bought these for running but they are so comfy that they have turned into my gym socks and also work socks. I have spent some days 16+ hours on my feet and these socks have held up great. The best thing about these is the sweat wicking, it’s amazing my feet aren’t all sweaty from a long day or hard workout, which, if you’re the type to be a puddle at the end of a gym sesh, is a gift from the gods themselves.
Love the low cut to show off my calves too! Amazing socks.
I’ve only had these for a few weeks, replacing the worn out, earlier-version of the same socks. I noticed three things right away that I didn’t like, compared to the ones I bought almost two years ago: 1-Significantly less cushioning.
Adequate, but still, less. 2-The ankle elastic is considerably looser. As long as it doesn’t get much looser over time, they’ll be fine, but I think they should feel tighter when brand new. 3-They now have left & right forms.
For some, that’s a plus, since presumably they fit at least a bit better. But I don’t want to have to pair up my socks, making sure I have one R and one L; I just want to grab two socks from my drawer and go.
A low-cut, cushioned sock that your shoe will not eat. High-impact cushioning only where you need – it in the toe cup and the heel lock areas. This sock delivers pavement-pounding performance in every stride.
Our patented Full Contact Fit hugs the contours of your foot and stays put so there are no loose socks to rub you the wrong way. This low-cut sock will not fall down into your shoe. Toe and heel lock for high-impact cushioning.
I bought a pair of these socks, a few years back, as I wanted a good “no show” sock that would stay up and I also wanted to give a wool sock a try. I think wool is super cool as it’s both a natural material and has good insulation characteristics.
Anyway, the sock worked out well. In the past, I’ve had issues with cotton “no show” socks like this fall back down, under my heel, but I haven’t had this problem at all with these FITS socks. I liked them so much I recently threw out all my older cotton socks and bought a bunch of these FITS socks.
They make up my entire collection of short socks now. They feel fine throughout the day. My feet tend to run hot but I haven’t had any issue with these socks.
I called before placing my order online. I asked the customer service representative about any sales. The rep denied knowledge of any current or upcoming sales. Less than 24 hours after placing my order, I received email notice of a 20% off sale.
Arghh. RE: Ultra Light Runner No Show the chose on Website called Minimalist/ Packaging received calls it Women’s Style — The website says 66% Merino Wool content. The stickers on the packages I received (2 pair of these socks) says 73%.
The pair I purchased previously also says 73%. Which is it? — what the website says or what the sticker say? I use the FITS socks to manage symptoms of two vasospactic disorders I have in my feet. One of the disorders is very rare.
FITS socks are the only socks I am able to tolerate wearing for any signficant period of time.
These are amazing socks. Because these socks have high wool content, I always line dry—they dry out very quickly and feel like new. Their unique “deep heel” design means they conform to my foot perfectly and I never have problems with them sliding down into my shoe.
I usually wear a 10. 5 shoe so I was worried about sizing but the XL fits fine with no extra bulk. I wear these for running and for casual summer wear and they do both jobs well. My feet can get pretty sweaty but these wick moisture away and my feet don’t get overheated in them.
As far as thickness goes, these feel like a liner sock I’d wear for hiking. which is perfect for shoes that fit well and for summer wear. I can’t wait to buy a few more pairs!.

Can’t give it 5-stars as I haven’t as yet used them for running, but for gym and casual use they are a great fit (I’m UK size 8). Feel good quality and the material ‘hugs’ your feet so they are comfy as well.
Our team has designed these running socks to prevent blistering of the foot while running. What are the advantages of thin running socks? These half-height running socks made of thin anti-friction yarn fit perfectly to the foot for more feeling while running.
Summary: get these socks if you run and don’t want blisters; they’re worth the premium I’ve put 1000+km on a rotation of these socks over the past 1+ years across a variety of conditions (dry/wet, hot/cold, road/trail/treadmill) and can confirm they perform even better than advertised.
Super comfort, zero blisters. Near seamless construction and magic yarn is worth the premium. Yes a bit slippery at first if you’re in a loose shoe but with proper lacing and a few washes they’re perfect.
Other notes: – I can confirm that even at the upper end of the size range they do fit. – These socks withstand regular washing better than the Decathlon non-premium running sock. – Left side and right side socks are clearly marked and contribute to the nice fit – Tested with 1080v10, 1080v12, Boston 10 – Unrelated: hope Decathlon brings the KD900x to Hong Kong.
The running sock for understated comfort. Perfect for warm days and race days. Your new secret weapon. With the benefits hidden, the Low Sock is for runners who let their results make the statement. Merging ultralight minimalist design with anatomical shaping for gentle support, it’s the ideal choice for warm days or race day.
Or whenever you want understated comfort. On Performance Socks combine a polyamide and elastane blend with technical mesh paneling. The mesh sections help keep foot temperature in perfect balance. Cooling when things heat up, warm enough that you won’t get cold feet – whatever you’re about to take on.
Your running sock might not win you the race, but it could lose you one if it doesn’t perform. That’s why On set out to see how much performance they could put into a running sock. Turns out, a lot. Like the pattern at the arch which triggers sensory receptors to prime your feet for the run.
Plus Swiss Engineering to then keep the sock firmly in place. For performance standards that don’t slip.
I run a lot of miles and am very particular about running socks. I only ran in ASICS Kayano and Tiger socks for a long time–these were the best I could find and pretty good. I bought 2 pairs of On Low Socks when they came out and, although they seem quite thin, they are definitely the best.
They are very smooth against the skin and have no seams and stay in place so they never crease or fold even on long humid runs at 25C. They are so comfortable I forget I’m wearing socks when I run in On Lows.
I’ve been running 8 miles/day in them and took them on a 14 mile run last weekend which convinced me these are the perfect long distance sock. So I ordered 4 more Lows and 2 Mids (for winter) as I know how fast these sell out, particularly coming up to the NYC Marathon.
These thin and light; perfect for warmer weather. They are very comfortable without any annoying seams and they stay in place while running. Muted color is nice and they go well with my On running bottoms.
There are far too many runners professionals included who leave the house with taped toes and more band-aids than energy gels stuffed into their belt. Sensitive areas around the ankle toes and sole are thickened or padded for optimal cushioning.
Furthermore precisely-targeted micro-zones are interwoven with anti-bacterial PTFE fibres to prevent skin from over-heating the usual culprit when it comes to blisters. Our striped weaving technique offers optimal ventilation and moisture wicking.
A reinforced Achilles strap provides incredibly stable support while multiplied 3D. Dots absorb a maximum of vibration from the tarmac stimulate blood flow and increase grip. Higher compression further reduces movement of the foot and improves overall ergonomy.
Combined with optimised sweat evacuation this not only guarantees increased comfort but also contributes to less raw skin in the long run. Once you’ve completed one pain-free marathon in the white Pro Marathon Sock you might just catch yourself running another.
KEY BENEFITS High-level blister prevention thanks to anti-bacterial, PTFE fibres in targeted areas which reduce the risk of over-heating, irritation and chafing. Anti-slip technologies which prevent the fabric from moving or folding as you run and increase the grip of the foot in the shoe.
Exceptional 360° breathability and ventilation thanks to ultra-thin fibres and mesh panels, keeping your feet fresh and dry even in hot conditions.
the fabric feels good but they are very tight, i guess that’s how compression socks work (?) i have large calves and they are quite hard to put on. make sure you refer to the size guide, it made me pick a larger size than i would’ve.
otherwise, they feel good and, ive only worn them twice but they look durable.
Ultra lightweight fabric Breathable performance mesh keeps your foot cool Running tab on heel provides comfortable barrier between you and your shoe Low cut style hits right below the ankle Engineered arch support offers a secure fit.
I really like these socks because they have an elastic band around the midfoot. I like this feature because it keeps my sock from sliding around and makes my foot feel secure in my shoe. The design enhances the fit.
I think the cut and design are great for movement especially lateral. definitely light weight material that works away moisture and keeps my foot dry during activities. I have only ran with them a few times but I feel like I get less hotspots because of the great material.
No blisters so far. It might be just me but I think they run just a little bit small so you may want to consider sizing up. I think you will be happy with this sock.
I have several pairs of the thicker socks and love them. I also now love these! They are comfortable and fit perfectly. My daughter steals them from me too. They are well made as I typically get holes in the ball of the foot area.
Nice neutral color. Found a great spot to hide them from my daughter. The material is comfortable and fits well on the feet.
These socks are super comfortable, and long lasting. I recently ordered a package of socks from a sneaker company with a pair of shoes I ordered and those socks lasted only about 6 months. Maybe that’s normal? But these hylete socks are replacing a set that I had purchased almost 6 years ago! 6 years for a pair of socks is pretty amazing.
Highly recommend these for comfort and for longevity.
Such as the type of sock, the fit of the sock, the size of the foot, the type of running shoe, and the individual’s own physiology. However, in general, wearing a sock that is designed specifically for running and that fits well can help to prevent blisters by reducing friction and providing cushioning.
Additionally, it is important to make sure that the sock is not too tight or too loose, as either can contribute to blisters. Finally, it is also important to regularly inspect the feet for any hot spots or early signs of blisters and to take care of them immediately to prevent further irritation.
