20 Best Sleeping Pills For Diabetics (2023 Updated)

I suffer from chronic arthritis and these tablets really do make the difference between quality sleep and laying awake all night tossing & turning. Take them an hour before bed is best. They’re non-addictive and you do need breaks from them occasionally in order to get the full effect of them but I’ve been taking these for easily 10 years plus with no ill effects whatsoever.

I have recommended them to friends when they’re having trouble sleeping and have been told that they’re a godsend. Definitely worth a try, even for the chronic insomniac.

Much cheaper than buying OTC sleep aids sold in the UK and ordering the 192 tablet pack from US stays below the threshold for customs clearance charges. The brand is from a major wholesaler supplying grocery stores with many kinds of OTC medications in the US.

There are fewer restrictions there on pack sizes and the stores where they can be sold. Doxylamine has a longer duration of action than diphenhydramine so may be more effective for people with early awakening symptoms, but also more likely to cause daytime sedation.

It’s commonly sold OTC in many countries but not in the UK, presumably for the above reason. Having said all that, I’m not qualified to give medical advice, and the regular use of any sleep aid should not be undertaken without expert medical advice.

I take it only after having had such advice. It is available on prescription in the UK, but not licensed as a sleep aid, only for morning sickness. Many would advise against buying any medicine from an unlicensed internet source.

I have used several sleep aids in the past; usually the generic stuff that is sold at Rite Aid as well Amazon’s own kind. I was a little skeptical buying 2 bottles (192 pills total) for the non-sale price of just $6.

I fall asleep pretty fast and really soundly whenever I take these, and this is coming from a lifelong insomniac. My only issue is they don’t leave you feeling *super* well-rested even if you technically slept well / a long time.

WARNING: at least where I got them, the sleep gels and tabs are different. These tabs work great. However the gels are diphenhydramine and the 50mg of that has given me panic attacks in the past. Just be aware how Benadryl affects you before trying either sleep aids.

I’ve never used this for sleep, strange as it may seem. I have used it during pregnancy to help control my intense morning sickness. I would take one at night with vitamin b6, and my nausea would be gone by the next morning.

The prescription that is basically the same thing was about $400 for a week’s supply! I had to take something pretty much my whole pregnancy otherwise I literally couldn’t keep food down, so this was a huge life (and money!) saver for me.

Obviously check with your doctor before taking for an off label use.

Unisom does what it’s meant to do. You will fall asleep quickly. Amount and quality of sleep will not be an issue for you HOWEVER, you will also feel like you’ve been hit by a bus. The brain fog persists for a few hours after you begin your day.

Melatonin is an easier alternative (but it’s also not perfect), some people build up a tolerance to melatonin and have to look elsewhere. If that is you, Unisom is your answer. Just prepare for a slightly more difficult morning.

I love this product! Whenever I’m having having trouble sleeping or if I just want to sleep really good, I’ll take one of these and I’m OUT all night. One bottle lasts a long time I’ve had this one for over a year and it’s probably only halfway gone if that.

I obviously don’t take them every night but if I’m having a phase where I’m struggling to get to sleep these really help me out.

I take melatonin every evening to help me sleep and stay asleep. I find he’s dissolved quickly, do not have a bad taste, and work well. The price is extremely reasonable compared to products of similar milligrams and similar consumption.

Why pay more for a similar product when this works just as well. .

I used to take Ambien or Lunesta. Doctor’s don’t want to give it anymore long term. I have tried tons of stuff with no good results. I had bought a bottle for my wife a while back, she only takes natural stuff.

I’ve tried many other sleep aides. Tri-sleep is my favorite natural aid. I must allow at least an hour before it kicks in FYI and I feel fine the next day. Showed it to my Dr and she approved. I only need one capsule.

I use pretty much only when backpacking. I’m often sore and tired, so the Advil part works, but the “PM” part often makes for a long night of uninterrupted sleep, something I’ve never experienced in almost 50 years of backpacking.

I started taking these because I work the night shift and my schedule was always changing and it was messing up my circadian rhythm. These were initially very strong and would knock me out. I used to take half a tablet (12.

5 mg) and I would still feel groggy the next day. However, my body quickly built up a tolerance and now I can take 1 -2 tablets and not feel groggy. It still puts me to sleep but obviously, I need to take more.

I’d suggest this but probably not a great idea to be taking it regularly if your body builds up a tolerance to medications quickly. [brand:kirkland-signature].

Works great, one of my go to sleep aids. As long as you are ready to catch the sleep wave. If you fight through that slight wave of sleepiness at any point, you’re gonna pass it altogether and be left in the most terrible half sleep state all night.

I tend to get restless leg syndrome and my muscles are itchy if I don’t immediately lie with my eyes closed as soon as I start feeling tired. Also don’t be tempted to take more to help if you’re especially struggling.

All it will do it keep you exhausted but awake for the next two days or until it flushes from your system.

I am a person that often finds it difficult to sleep at night due to racing thoughts and I have tried many different kind of sleep aids over the years, some have been better than others. Wow! Talk about a good night’s sleep! I suffer from sleepless night several night out of the month. I gave this a go. I would not recommend unless you have a solid 7-8 hours to sleep. The first night I took it, I fell asleep about an hour after ingestion.

Unfortunately, my toddler was awake about 5 hours later. I felt extremely groggy and my eyes felt heavy and swollen. My day was absolutely miserable and I couldn’t wait to get home after work and go straight to bed (which I did and slept the whole night through).

A few nights later, I attempted it again. I took a little earlier in the evening and laid to watch some television. The next thing I knew, my alarm was going off and it was time to start the day. No grogginess, well rested, no weird dreams through the night like with other sleep aids.

I have always suffered from insomnia and concluded I have a melatonin deficiency. I have tried melatonin, then I received a sample of MidNite. It worked very well. It made it easier for me to fall asleep and, more importantly, helped me stay asleep.

I always feel groggy in the morning, but I felt less groggy after using MidNite. I believe it is because I slept more soundly. I have much more vivid and lucid dreams after using MidNite, so I believe I am getting more REM sleep.

These melatonin tablets work great. I have used them both before bed and in the middle of the night and have felt no grogginess in the morning. The flip top cap and small pour spout make it easy to dispense a tablet in the dark.

They do not require any water which is convenient for in the middle of the night usage. The only negative for me is the flavor. The packaging says that it is naturally and artificially chamomile flavored.

It is nasty. It tastes like what I imagine eating weeds from the garden would taste like. Gross. I could see if the flavor was a natural byproduct of using chamomile in the tablet but they also say that they artificially flavored it to taste gross.

Chamomile is not even an active ingredient. This would be an excellent product otherwise.

I have been using Vicks ZzzQuil Pure Z’s Low Dose Melatonin for about a month now. I work overnight and sometimes have a hard time sleeping in the morning. I will wake up when it is bright out and then I will be up for the day.

This product definitely helped me doze back off and get a few more hours of shut eye. I really liked the fact that it is very small and instantly dissolves under your tongue. I also doesn’t really have a taste, which is good.

It works pretty fast. I feel like I fell back to sleep within half an hour. Maybe if it was a little stronger I woke up in the morning with no headache or grogginess, which was nice. Sometimes I take melatonin and wake up with a headache.

I’ll definitely keep this product handy in the future to help with those times that I wake up and can’t get back to sleep!.

I received a sample of the New Chapter Restful Sleep and Pain Relief Melatonin & Ginger tablets through the TryIt Sampling Community and they are truly fabulous. I take melatonin to help me sleep and have tried so many different brands.

At my age (53), I find that I have very restful sleep and wake up exhausted. Thus the addition of melatonin to my daily routine. But, I have never found the right one that completely works through the night, resulting in an average of 5-6 hours of sleep per night.

Not sure if it is the addition of ginger but I have noticed that I am sleeping longer and am not waking up throughout the night trying to get comfortable. Can’t blame it on the mattress or pillows as those are new (tried everything to get better sleep, including this).

I am convinced I have found the answer, finally!.

I decided to try something different to help me sleep and this product is what I picked. They work really well. There is no bad smell from the pills like some have. There really is no taste. They are are capsule and have like a dark supstance inside.

Not very appealing looking but that’s ok since they do work very well. I like that it helps with pain and sleep. When your in pain it is hard to even get good sleep , so this is a bonus. I will be getting more of this product since it has done well for me.

Quite surprised by these as the other Nytol herbal products didn’t do anything at all and neither have alternatives on the market. Taking just one of these 2hrs or so before I plan to sleep has really helped.

They don’t knock me out however they do relax and help me to drift off to sleep, the first 2 occasions I did wake feeling a little groggy but that vs actually achieving 7-8hrs sleep was for me a small price to pay, not for use every night, I have use once or twice a week so far particularly after stressful working days whee my mind won’t switch off! Well. you’re hoping to sleep using a side effect of antihistamines but saying that, I did find it easier to settle down and drift off about 50% of the time (which is an improvement). Unfortunately I had other nights when restless leg syndrome crept in and I ended up getting up.

I would still recommend trying them as my sleep is better with them.

Well, I took these Natrol Sleep+ Recovery capsules several nights to help with my sleep, and I didn’t notice a single difference in the quality or quantity of my sleep. My husband took them and called them a joke because ehe was up most of those nights.

My daughter said they didn’t help her sleep at all. The good news: it doesn’t leave you with a sleep hangover…. yep, that all the good news I have. After it didn’t help any of us, I actually looked at what the product claims to do: “Supports revitalizing sleep Helps support a healthy inflammatory response” ….

With a note that “This product is not intended to treat insomnia. ” And “these statements have not been evaluated by the FDA. ” I don’t even know how you can measure the statements they make. How does it support sleep if it doesn’t treat insomnia? What the heck is revitalizing sleep?! And tell me how to measure a healthy inflammatory response?! Basically these pills do nothing.

Sleep pills that don’t help with insomnia. What’s even the point?!.

I received a bottle of the Sleep+Calm sleep-aid capsules free for testing purposes from Natrol and Influenster. I have had difficulty with melatonin-only sleep aids in the past. They don’t seem to be effective at helping me stay asleep or feel well-rested, no matter the dosage or how hard I try to wind down and relax prior to taking it.

These capsules have additional ingredients like L-theanine, lemon balm, and ashwagandha extract to promote calmness and balance. I don’t expect this product to knock me out for the whole night, but I do tend to stay asleep longer and not wake up feeling like a stressed out zombie.

They’re easy to swallow capsules, which is a big plus for me since I normally have to use gummies or chewables. Each bottle contains 30 capsules, so it lasts me well over a month as I don’t take these nightly.

Overall when I run out I plan to get another bottle to keep on hand when I need it and would happily recommend.

For the past couple of years, I have gotten into occasionally using melatonin to help me go to sleep. I am familiar with melatonin tablets and gummies. several years ago, I did use prescribed sleeping pills and was surprised to find that not only did they not help me sleep, they cause even more insomnia.

melatonin was a game changer. I will say that I’ve tried these on a few occasions before bed and they work pretty quickly. I don’t think that I was especially tired before taking them. that said, I would probably say within a half an hour of taking them I was lying down in my bed and the effects happened pretty quickly.

The first two times I took them, I went into my bed and I was out cold probably within 5 minutes of hitting the pillow. I love to travel and sometimes it’s really difficult to sleep on the plane. I’ve tried melatonin before when traveling on red eye flights.

I’m going to take a really long flight to Asia and upcoming months and can’t wait to bring these with me to help me sleep.
