10 Best Sleeping Bag Under 200 (2023 Updated)

The color was nice and I liked that it was lightweight and compact. Unfortunately, the quality was poor. Perhaps I got a lemon, but the horizontal stitching was coming out in many places. It was as if the ends weren’t knotted/finished.

It caused the whole line of stitching to unravel on both sides of the bag (inside/outside). I returned immediately.

I like the fact that it was long enough for my 14 year old granddaughter to fit in it I really thought it was going to be too short but it wasn’t, it’s good for sleepovers. What I didn’t like was, I thought it would be all blue but it was gray instead with a stripe of blue in the middle and also the material was extremely thin so it’s best to use in the home and not outside.

I love this product and all the other products as well it is easy to use, Lightweight Kids Sleeping Bag and Carrying Bag with Compression Strap by Wakeman Outdoors (Neon Green/Black) these are the best product that I have tried so far and I wouldn’t improve it at all cause it already does the job and it is affordable, I am satisfied overall.

Very light weight good for weather that they mentioned , what I didn’t like it is space in the feet area is very small and the zipper in head area bothered me.

This sleeping bag is AWESOME Just got back from a 4 night of below 30* and rainy/damp nights of tent camping. I’m 6’5” and 250 lbs I had plenty of turning room and the bag is long enuff to snuggle in over my head Best sleeping I’ve found that fit my size Well worth the money.

The first tome I used this sleeping bag it was about forty degrees. My son woke up cold and this bag was big enough to accommodate us both. He was warm and toasty the remainder of the night. I’m 5’10” and it was long enough for me.

I haven’t taken this sleeping bag camping yet, but we had family members use them and they said they were really comfortable and warm. Glad I got them.

The Questar is a big upgrade for me from synthetic bags! Packs down small and light, and kept me nice and cozy on a 40 – 50 degree night in early June in NH. Two things really make it stand out – first, the special foot box is really a nice touch that adds a great amount of warmth and fluff around the feet.

Second, the integrated straps are a game-changer for me personally. I did multiple 360 rolls throughout the night and gone are the days of getting tangled up in my bag! (Used with a Thermarest women’s prolite pad from 5+ years ago.

) Inside fabric is silky and the side zipper runs very smoothly – seems like the long zip length will make the bag versatile for hotter nights as well. My one complaint is that I felt like some cold was seeping in through the side zipper and the draft tube didn’t seem quite tall/burly enough to fully lay in place.

But that’s really the only thing I would change, so all around very impressed! (Plus got a very nice discount on Backcountry which softened the $$$ blow).

Wow. If you toss and turn in your sleep this is the bag for you. The freedom of movement is incredible for a warm mummy bag without a ton of dead air space to heat. Even the hood works well for side sleeping by providing enough space to not trap your breathe (and condensation) in the bag.

The toe-asis foot warmer sounded gimmicky but it is brilliant. It only really works while on your back but it doesn’t take long to warm cold feet up. It’s basically an extra insulated pocket that traps warm air directly around your feet.

No more waiting for my cold feet to warm up. When not in use it naturally compresses out of the way. So far I’ve only used it down to 5°C but it kept me very warm in just shorts and a t shirt. The compression bag is excellent too.

Overall, this is a home run for a budget friendly down bag for active sleepers. I highly recommend it. Oh and after 4 days sleeping directly beside a river with very high humidity, the nikwax treated down lost no loft or warmth!.

I bought the Questar sleeping bag for back country ventures to 6500 base elevation in BC. I have been very impressed. It compresses super small and takes up little space in my bag. I love the straps that attach to my sleeping pad.

As a side and front sleeper I toss and turn and the bag stays in place and there is plenty of room to move around in. It was a chilly night but with thermals on I slept very comfortable and was not cold.

I pushed the limit on temperature down to about 2 deg overnight. The warm hoodie was perfect and kept my pillow in place. Wasn’t cold at all. I am 6 feet and 180lbs and a regular fit perfectly. Excellent quality.

And Altitude shipped in record time from Ontario to BC.

Very good buy for the price. And it is cozy warm as described.

I absolutely hate mummy bags. If at all possible I use an oversized canvas exterior flannel interior Coleman sleeping bag. HOWEVER, I did a backcountry mule deer hunt in Idaho this year where I had to bike in 10 miles and overcome close to 4000 feet in elevation.

So my normal heavy sleeping bag was too big and heavy to make the trip. I ended up going with this Kelty Tuck 0 degree bag and I’m so glad I did. We encountered serious cold weather, 10-15* at night and I never felt the cold in our tent with a tiny backcountry wood stove.

It snowed a foot on us over 2 days, and even when the bag got wet with condensation, it was always warm and comfortable. I’m 5’10” and 190 lbs with wide shoulders and it fit me fine. I was able to turn over easily and sleep on my side without the bag twisting up.

The square foot box was awesome, very comfortable. I coupled this bag with a thermarest neoair xlite sleeping pad in the largest size they make and they both fit perfectly and combined to make for a comfortable nights sleep.

I will probably continue to use this combo even when doing more traditional hunting camps. It was too cold to try out the tuck feature with the foot but I’m sure I will like it in warmer weather as my legs always feel the heat first.

This is an extremewmly warm bag at an extremely attractive price. It has kept me warm consistantly in 15-30 degree nights even on a old, substandard sleeping pad. It has even kept up the warmth in a handful of situations when unexpected rain caught me unprepared.

I see a lot of complaints about the zipper but mine has had moderate use over the past 2 years with no issues at all. And I love the option to open up the toe box in warmer weather to make it usable almost year round.

Hikers and backpackers BEWARE. It is HEAVY! Very heavy. Not a knock but something to be very aware of if you’re not car/boat camping. It is listed at 6. 5 lbs but i would vernture to say it is even heavier than that.

And while it does have a stuff sack, it is never small. Overall, a great bag for the proce if you dont need to carry it far.

I love this sleeping bag. It’s so comfortable and warm. Nice padding if you sleep on top of it. The foot feature is neat and I like to use it. Used it every single day for 6 months and haven’t had any issues but I also try to be mindful with it.

This sleeping bag is really big so it’s not for backpacking but for front country camping it’s a great choice, especially in the cold. Only part of me that was cold was my head.

This bag was a great first sleeping bag considering the price. It definitely cannot be used in 20 degree weather. I’ve used this bag in summer, and it works great, but any other season, I end up freezing.

If you’re looking for a cheap summer bag to start with, I would definitely recommend this one, but don’t expect to be able to use it in other seasons. I’ve used on multiple car camping/ backpacking trips and it needed a compression sack to fit in my pack.

Bought this for a weekend camping trip in Georgia where the forecast temps were going to be in the upper 20’s or low 30’s, and all we owned previously were 50 degree bags. Kept us very warm once the bag began to capture all your heat.

I am about 5’10” and do wish the extended version would have been available. Only question I have is where did they put this “technology pocket” pictured in the product sales literature? Sounds like a great idea, but I looked all over my bag(s) and never found one.

Oh well.

It doesn’t really match the specs of covering that level of cold. It can get drafty but is a good starter sleeping bag. My only hiccup is it didn’t come with a bag somehow in our box. It was just folded in our box with no so knocking off a star.

Needed the sleeping bag ASAP so I didn’t return to complain.

I just tested this sleeping bag out on a backpacking trip last weekend up near Mount Rainier National Park. I slept in my hammock, with no under quilt, and this thing was plenty warm (even with 40 Degree Temps and wind all night).

The quality is great, it’s lightweight and compressible for backpacking, and you can’t beat the Kelty lifetime warranty. This is a great sleeping bag for the price.

Brought this bag camping around 8000 feet outside Boulder, CO, on December 11th and it preformed quite well. Knowing it was supposed to get very cold, I added an external canvas bivvy to the sleep setup in my tent.

It ended up getting down to about six degrees late that evening but with my clothes, the bivvy, and this bag, I stayed reasonably comfortable the entire night. Based on this initial stress test, I’m certain that above 20 degrees this bag will keep me toasty warm.

Bought it awhile back and have only been able to use it once. Used it in blistering winds around mid 30’s (not including windchill) in a three season tent and it was so warm I had to shed layers. Can’t wait to use it in real cold.
