20 Best Skincare Products For Blackheads (2023 Updated)

This is my first time writing a review on ANY product! This product has tremendously helped my blackheads along my nose and forehead! My pores are much more clear and it just makes my skin look “clean” and not so clogged looking.

I am often trying new products to help with my hormonal acne at age 28 and this is something I will continue to buy! I have used this for almost 1 week now as I started this on 21Jan22. I use this in the morning in my problem areas before serum and then I use it at night before my nighttime serums etc.

and I wait about ten minutes before applying my next steps of serum and moisturizer. I have also found myself using this as a spot treatment and it makes such a difference. I have noticed slight peeling along my nose but I have just applied extra moisturizer near the area and that has helped.

I LOVE this product! :).

I have suffered (literally) with blackheads since my pre-teen years. I’m approaching 70 years now. NOTHING has ever helped my blackhead issue successfully — ever. Something has done that now. Is it perfect? Did it disappear my problem overnight? No.

However, exactly as advertised, it brought deep, deep ones to the surface and they eventually were washed away. Does my problem still exist? Yes. Be that as it may, there is now a solution. One of the deterents listed by Neutragena was possible excessive drying of the skin.

This has not happened to me – old lady that I am – and I use it twice per day.

I was really disappointed with this product. Neutrogena usually excels in Acne/Facial care. However, I was vastly underwhelmed me in its performance. This especially considering the other predecessors of Neutrogena’s Stubborn Acne Line, which are amazing.

This product, however, was a definite miss. I saw no exponential difference in my pores or blackheads. It’s by no means terrible a product. I enjoyed the dewy-look and softness it gave my skin but, blackhead results leave much to be desired.

I don’t typically feel compelled to write reviews, but this product has changed my skin literally overnight- and there’s no way I won’t share my thoughts. I have ALWAYS dealt with acne-prone skin, texture, dullness, oily skin, hormonal acne, etc since I was a pre-teen.

Now, as a young adult, my skin gets wishy-washy and can look/feel decent for a few weeks and then go right back to breaking out and feeling super textured and rough in the snap of a finger. When it gets like that, even foundation and concealer cannot hide the tiny bumps or dark spots that stick around after a breakout has subsided.

Around this time last month, I was in Sephora, trying to use up a gift card, and came across this travel-sized PC exfoliant product. I had seen it around social media for years but didn’t want to just buy another hyped product only to have it do absolutely nothing.

Then I used this product for the first time after my nighttime skincare and woke up with different skin HA. No joke. 1 day after using this product and someone even asked me what my skincare routine was, what?! I hadn’t been complimented on my skin in years! I have been using this consistently on my face morning and night, and babyyyyy my skin is soft, supple, breakout-free, redness-free, texture-free, and just so radiant.

I feel like a goddess, seriously that’s how confident I am in my skin because of this product. Nothing else in my skincare changed except the addition of this exfoliant and my skin’s health has changed so dramatically, it is crazy.

In the back of my mind I am afraid my skin issues will just suddenly return one day but day after day when I go to wash my face and feel the silky smooth skin beneath my fingertips, it makes me so giddy.

I DO get hormonal acne around that time of the month, and I am awaiting that week to see if this product combats any flare-ups from that, and I feel hopeful it will. I only knocked a star because my oily skin issues still persist but it’s not that bad.

What I love about Paula Begoun’s skincare range is firstly: the transparency. An explanation is given for each ingredient so you know exactly what you’re putting onto/into your skin. Secondly there’s ample opportunity to trial the products via a sample size on the website.

Not to mention a good returns policy. The 2% BHA lotion was one of the products that I invested in full size (along with a bunch of samples) and funnily enough was my least favorite out of everything I ordered.

It’s not that it broke me out or disagreed with me in any way, it just didn’t do much for me. Even after the first 3 weeks of usage, gradually built up to twice daily applications, my skin still looked exactly the same as before I started using it.

Pores, blemishes, oiliness, you name it. zero difference! It’s unfortunate, as I skipped the option of a sample pack, thinking it wouldn’t be enough product to give it a fair try. I was somehow convinced this 1 bottle would be the answer to all my skincare woes (not entirely sure what lead me to believe that!).

The good: it wasn’t harsh on my skin like many BHA products can be, and the application was well controlled, never too much or too little. And I have, after 4 months of continued use seen a very slight difference to clogged pores on my nose (less gunk when using the weekly nose strip) but nowhere near significant enough to warrant a re-purchase.

I don’t normally post reviews, but when I see something actually make improvements to my skin I’ve gotta share my experience because I know there’s so much BS in products these days. But Paulas Choice 2% for the win! I got a small sample bottle for $10.

I read the reviews and was a little nervous to do it everyday because of what people were saying. but that wasn’t my experience. I used it everyday, morning & night. I shook the bottle 3 times into my hand and smoothed it over my entire face.

I was using the cotton pads at first, and just doing on the areas that needed it but then I ran out of the pads so I put it in my hands and honestly, it worked way better when I was just using my hands to spread it because it seemed to soak into my face better.

I saw people say that their face would get irritated by using it everyday and the way to use it correctly and see results was to use it once a week. so I just wanted to see how my face would react the next day but nothing felt bad and I decided to do it again in the morning.

I loved how it felt on my skin, and I only had 1 flare up and that was a week later May 26-27th (Photos Included) The pimple went away quickly and I still decided to put the product on my face Night & Day.

I saw people say it isn’t good for sun exposure so not to use it during the day, but I am staying home at the moment so I don’t go outside as often, maybe 20 mins a day. So I took that caution with a grain of salt.

If you go outside more, maybe you should listen to that warning lol. I am not a product expert of how to use it correctly, all I know is I used it night and day and the hyperpigmentation/dark spots on my forehead have really toned down and my skin looks a lot more smooth/brighter which I love.

I always feel like I’m glowing and it feels spa like when I put it on, it’s got a nice relaxing smell and a nice soothing texture to it that isn’t too oily. I still have more in the small bottle and will be buying again! :).

In LOVE!! My friend is the one who told me about Mario Badescu products, and I’m forever grateful! Keep in mind that the Acne Face Cleaner can and will dry your skin out if you use it too much. I personally use it every other day to every three days.

On my days that I don’t use the Acne Face Wash; I use the Glycolic Foaming wash! Absolutely love that one! Makes my skin feel absolutely amazing and clean, I usually use the Enzyme Cleaning Gel that they have right afterwards and it makes my skin tight and AMAZING! Also before bed when I notice I have acne appearing I put a DOT of Drying Lotion on my affected area.

MY FAVORITE PRODUCT is the DRYING LOTION. it’s not a lotion don’t let the word confuse you, and make sure NOT TO SHAKE the bottle! Keep the pink sediment on the bottom!! Use a Q-tip or- what I use. chopsticks😂 I cut chopsticks into three’s.

I noticed when I use a Q-tip it absorbs too much of the product, and it’s harder to save the rest if you get to much sediment on it. KEEP IN MIND WHEN YOU USE THE DRYING LOTION TO USE AS LITTLE AS POSSIBLE.

This mask has such a soft texture and it smells pleasant. I have struggled with various types of acne starting in 4th grade (I\’m 28 now) and I have to be careful about what I use. I\’m just starting to venture into preventing any signs of aging so I\’ve started using face masks.

I have used a charcoal mask in the past which I liked because as it dried you could see the gunk it was pulling out of your pores. This Dead Sea mask doesn\’t do that, but it leaves my skin feeling really soft afterwards and I have more of a glow.

You want to make sure to use some sort of moisturizer following the mask. My routine twice a week is now: peeling exfoliant, Dead Sea mask, maracuja oil for any lost moisture. I have started getting really bad cystic acne leading up to that time of the month and this routine seems to really help draw out the gunk and bring it to a head and speeds up the healing process with less redness.

I\’ll continue this routine.

I purchased the mud mask and some Jojoba Oil and both have treated me extremely well! The Jojoba oil has really helped start to repair my hair. I was incredibly amazed by the quality of the mud mask because not only did it cleanse my face and leave it feeling refreshed, the smell was nothing like you get in the cheap masks.

It smelt so wonderful and not overwhelming. I am definitely purchasing again from your company once I run out. Also VERY prompt delivery. 10/10 would recommend to those who are tired of getting cheap masks and oils to only be disappointed by the quality.

I don\’t everrrr write reviews. This is my first review of all my 28 years of life and I decided I need to give props when they\’re are due so here it goes. Just finished using this mask 5 mins ago and while the feelings I have on this product are here on my mind now I\’ll share.

I have combination skin and I\’ve never been one to really care for masks and skin products. I decided to start caring now that I\’m 28 (getting older won\’t forever be pretty,lol)My skin appeared dull and not glowing.

I have some blemished and with winter around the corner my skin is getting dry. :(So I decided to start a skin routine! I got an AMAZING facial first, learned what was being done to my face step by step so I can replicate it some how at least once a week and get professional facials every 4-6 weeks.

This is my first mud mask purchase and I love it. Im no expert obviously but it smells and feels amazing on. I dedicate 2 hours to my face twice a week for a \”home facial\” routine. SERIOUSLY I don\’t know how much of a part this mask plays but my skin LOOKS AMAZING.

HONESTLY, I didn\’t know what mud masks were used for, I just knew they were good to use. After the first application my skin feels clean and new. its been a month maybe since I\’ve used it and my pores look great, skin is moisturized and laugh lines are not so visible.

Like I said, I don\’t know how much of a part this plays bc I use it twice a week with 5 other things in my 2 hour facial sitting. I never tried any other mud masks but with the large amount that comes in this container, I\’ll be using it for at least 6 months before purchasing another jar.

I recommend buying it.

I use this twice a day, morning and evening. I have sensitive skin, and it doesn’t irritate my face or dry it out at all. My face actually feels softer after I use it. I’ve never had a cleanser do that for me before.

I think CeraVe is just a great brand over all. I like that they focus on creating products that strengthen your skin’s protective barrier and that hydrate it. That protects you against free radical damage, not aging well, all kinds of stuff.

I’ve never been disappointed in any of their products that I’ve tried. I’ve read in many skincare articles that it’s important to have salicylic acid as part of your routine because of its exfoliating ability.

I’m an acne sufferer, so I make sure I take advantage of it. I’ve compiled a great regimen for myself. In the morning, I use this cleanser, then The Ordinary’s niacinamide and zinc serum, followed by CeraVe’s daily moisturizer.

At night, I use this cleanser again, followed by that same moisturizer and then Good Molecules backuchiol oil blend for oily skin and Good Molecules rosehip seed oil. Those products together have reduced my acne drastically.

I’m making this cleanser a permanent part of my skincare routine.

I’ve used the SA cleanser, the hydrating cleanser, and the cream to foam cleanser from CeraVe and this is by far my favorite. For some reason the SA and cream to foam cleanser irritated my skin quite a bit and the hydrating cleanser made me feel like my face wasn’t all that clean and fresh.

This has been the perfect in between. I don’t get a lot of acne but do break out every once in a while and this cleanser definitely helps prevent that. I still get the occasional pimple but they’re tiny and don’t last long.

I have sensitive skin mostly on my cheeks and this cleanser does not cause more redness and irritation for me. I actually don’t even cleanse twice a day with this normally. I shower at night and cleanse and follow up with the CeraVe moisturizing lotion and my skin holds up well throughout the next day even in the more oily areas of my face.

Went through a time period with this cleanser where it was extremely hard to find but haven’t had issues finding it since then thankfully.

I have dry skin with large pores. I know, I’m an enigma. Now that I’m in my thirties I don’t get acne blemishes, but blackheads are the bane of my existence. I’ve found that the cleansers engineered to combat blackheads are too harsh on my delicate skin, making my skin peel.

However, I also have my 19-year-old brother staying with me and he loves to use my expensive, elite brand face wash so I wanted something that would help my skin, his skin, and not break the bank and we found it in this product.

So far, my skin has been clear with no dry patches. It’s so moisturizing it’s as if you don’t NEED a moisturizer. I said almost. ALWAYS MOISTURIZE. For an extra oomph for my greasy teenaged bro, we add dermalogica’s micro exfoliant and I’ll use the micro-exfoliant once or twice a week after a hard work out.

Something used by the whole family while staying in budget. Love.

THINNER+THICKER: – PHA is thinner and 1 pump is enough for the whole face. It is also easier to spread over your face due to its texture. However, when PHA is pumped onto fingers to apply to your face, it sometimes drips between the fingers and my sink gets a little messy with the oil because it’s thinner.

– BHA is thicker so you might need more than 1 pump of BHA for the whole face. Since it’s thicker, it takes more product to spread evenly. But also, since BHA is thicker, it doesn’t drip out of my hands so no product goes waste.

SMELL: HERB+CITRUS – PHA smells more like herbs than citrus whereas BHA smells more like citrus. I personally like citrus smell more than herbs on my face. STINKING/DRYING EYE: – When first started using PHA, my skin was dried a little around my eyes and caused itching.

The more I used, the better it got. This could be due to my skin getting used to it or me increasing the amount of moisturizer I apply around my eye. No stinking. – No drying with BHA but BHA stinks my eye A LOT.

It burns my eyes every time and I need to rush to use my second cleanser to wash it off my face to stop the burning. REMOVING MAKEUP: – I believe they both remove the make up to the same extend. I think BHA slightly takes less time to dissolve the eye make up compared to PHA which I liked because I am too lazy to keep rubbing the oil on my eyes.

These products definitely require a second cleanser. Especially for the eye make up with mascara. Overall, I love the texture and smell of BHA. But the eyes are a big problem for me. Just for this reason, I am considering going back to PHA even though I am not a huge fan of the thinness and the herb smell.

I thought about having BHA for skin makeup and PHA for eye make up but this is just adding additional step and cost to my skin care routine which I want to avoid. I like to have one product for all face make up! These were the first products I tried with Soko Glam and were definitely one of the best products I tried for such a reasonable price! I’ve been wanting to try out new skincare products this year, and looking for a new oil cleanser was a top priority for my skincare routine, ’cause I use a lot of mineral sunscreen and it can leave residue if not removed properly.

I had been using the Banila Co Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm Purifying and it checks out all the marks for me. But like I said, I wanted to test out other products. Well, I must say I’m glad I went with one of Soko Glam’s Best of K-Beauty ’cause this stuff gets the job done.

Although, it barely emulsifies, it is so light and I kept adding water and robbing my skin just to get to do so. But it didn’t just remove everything but it left my skin so soft and refreshed. Really like the citrusy scent.

The only downside is that it stings my eyes so bad, unlike the Banila Co. But I took to removing it with a facial sponge and no problem. I still LOVE my Banila Co, but would I buy this one again? YES.

And for the price, the size is worth it.

I love the PHA version of this cleansing oil and have been using it for about two years. There was a recent Hanskin sale and I was already running low on the hyaluron moisturizer that I love so I thought I would give this a try, plus a few other things.

I have to say, I’m once again, very impressed with the results. I’ve been using this as the first step of my night time routine in combination with the Hyaluron Bubble Pop Foam cleanser and I haven’t found a better duo for my summer skincare routine! I have combination skin and with the right serum this stuff given me petal soft, glassy skin! In the winter I will probably switch back to the PHA version and a gentler cleanser, but this stuff is amazing.

I’ve found using BHA cleansing oils and essence toners have been the best combatant to summer acne for my dry/oily combination skin.

At my age (55), I still get the occasional breakout, and I do need to treat spots. I tried this product as something I could put on areas that were very sensitive and I needed to “treat” them without being too harsh.

I have only been using this a couple weeks so far, but I’ve noticed that when applying it just to those particular areas at night, I see in the morning that the areas are less red and appear to have healed slightly, and the product does not “overdry” or leave the skin flaky.

It is useful, and I feel it has a gentle healing type quality to it. Its not an “overnight fix” to get rid of pimples or spots, but I think that if you treat those spots each night after cleansing for several days, you genuinely do notice a positive difference and it boosts the healing process for sure.

Its great value at the price, and I would purchase again (although you need so little, and it is a really good, small dispenser, so I’m sure it will last ages!!) Its a nice, handy size to take away too if you needed.

My 18 yo son has been fighting with acne since he was in 9th grade. its left scars– which saddens me because hes very handsome. I was browsing at Ulta and I went to get Mario Badesco’s Silver Powder for myself.

so I thought I would look for something for him. He usedT. Taio Esponjabon soap and Mario Badesco Anti Acne Serum. The 2 helped really reduce his breakouts. I wad amazed!! We’ve tried a lot in the past, rx products, Benzoyl Peroxide products, Salicylic Acid products– nothing worked much except these 2.

He still uses both, but my only gripe is that he goes through the Anti Acne Serum WAY too quickly. Maybe he had more “territory” to cover– i have no idea. But this will be an every 3-4 wk purchase for us.

Either way– I just want the acne under control so we can start to work on the scarring. All in all, this product worked well for our family– as does most Mario Badesco products. Give it a try. If it doesn’t work, you can always return it to Ulta with a receipt or with your rewards info.

My skin drastically changed within the last 6 months due to menopause. Although I always struggled with acne, my skin went from oily to extremely dry and the type of acne was completely different. Everything I tried either caused flaky dry patches or caused additional breakouts.

I bought the entire MB acne regimen, but in the end all I needed was the serum. Dryness and acne disappeared. Even my pores were significantly reduced. Total game changer.

I found and bought this in September of 2021. It literally made my skin poreless and clear. Just purchased a new cleanser yesterday Jan. 2022 and the ingredients are different. It’s missing jojoba oil and some other original ingredients.

Why do companies mess with ingredients!! This new formula smells different and not in a good way. I am hesitant to use it. On this site you have the original ingredients listed but on this image on the cleanser it is different and not in a good way.

So bothered by this because now the efficacy of the ingredients are in question. I knew the minute I used this new unimpressive formula that I have to move on. Such a shame because it did wonders for my skin.

Why do you take out an important ingredient that helps the skin? ! Please go back to the ingredients listed below on this site but not on the product itself. Thank you.

I bought this for my boyfriend because he is so stubborn about cleaning his face – ugh! Since he had blackheads and hates the face clean process, buying him an easy product like this helped him get into a simple – very simple – face care routine! He was also very impressed about how much it tackled his blackheads and he really had alot.

I also use this product when I have an excess amount of blackeads and what I like to do is wet my face, lightly scrub my face and then leave it on my face for about a minute before washing off. I feel like this gives the product time activate the charcoal inside and it really does! After a minute of being left on, my black heads were so faint to the eye! I am not a fan of the smell – it’s a bit weird and I can’t describe it – but it could just be me since I am sensitive to smells.

This has been the only face wash/scrub that I’ve been able to find that works on my oily, acne prone face and skin. And I’ve tried most other major name brands out there with little to no results, or worse results (skin irritation, dried up skin, worse breakouts, etc).

I do pair this with Dial bar soap though. I will wash my face and any other problem areas (my shoulders, neck, etc, areas that are prone to breakouts) with Dial soap and a washcloth, rinse my face, then I will use this product with a washcloth.

For me at least I’ve found success if do this everyday or every other day for a couple or few weeks in a row. Otherwise I don’t really see as much or at least the maximum amount of benefit from the product that I’m wanting to get out of it.

I also utilize their facial wipes of the same brand. They are amazing and really help on those days where you are constantly on the go and just don’t have time to take a shower or wash your face. They help to remove your makeup as well.

I just wish that these products were actually sold in stores again. I hate having to go online to buy them now.

I have sensitive combination skin that is prone to acne (based on my dad, always will be), very reactive, produces excess sebum and at the same time, is very top dry and therefore quite textured. Like, if I wear a lot of base make-up, I have to dry down the base but also moisturise a ton, because especially my T zone is very dry-oily.

And yet the next day I have a new zit. This peeling solution has changed the whole face game. I’ve used mechanical peeling scrubs, gentle and otherwise, as well as various chemical peel including facial washes that have salicylic acid, and all of them have had their problems.

I use this every 3-4 days and I have a lot less acne, blackheads and my skin is much smoother without any dry flakes. I typically use it in the evening: I cleanse, put on this, wait for it to dry and put on whichever moisturiser I’m using at the moment.

This thing is moisturising enough that I don’t like to use any serums at the same time. I also have a lot less need for sebum controlling products and acne products with this. If you’ve used the Some by mi miracle toner, and found it didn’t do much or enough, try this instead.

This one smells better, too! Slightly fresh fruity that doesn’t stay on your face after it’s rubbed in. If your skin is reaching to something stronger in another product, this one is gentle enough when not used daily to be part of a skin calming routine.

Rarely use in the morning, but if I do, always remember to use SPF!.

I have tried everything to get rid of my black heads I’ve bought hundreds of dollars worth of expensive luxary products and nothing followed a strict routine and even did the cureology and seen a dermatologist and could not get rid of them all the way but THIS!! This amazing product is a freaking life saver.

It’s like half toner half serum (I use it like I would a toner or essence) but it literally took maybe a week of only using at night ( I’m busy and forget to use in am) and I started to see results and this seriously leaves ur skin so soft anx smooth after every use it’s amazing.

It has seriously changed my skin care routine for the better I seriously get excited to go to bed so I can use this product that’s how good it is. Freaking amazing! Do not hesitate on buying it just do it and the bottle is a good freaking size and you only need like 1 maybe 2 pumps so it’s going to last you a few months at LEAST! The price point is amazing.

Totally worth it you will not regret buying this product.

This is a chemical exfoliator that contains Willow Bark Water which controls oil and calms the look of redness, along with Betaine Salicylate which fights bacteria and decongests clogged pores. It also contains Niacinamide, an ingredient that brightens skin and improves the appearance of pores.

When I first received this I used it as a serum and applied it with my hands, but that wasn’t the correct way to use it. You are supposed to squirt some onto a cotton pad and then swipe it across your face, similar to the Paulas Choice BHA exfoliator.

You are only supposed to use this twice a week, which I’ve been doing. I use it on days my skin seems extra irritated. I haven’t noticed any huge changes but I do think it’s doing something lol. Its similar to an oil in consistency.

Its also clear with zero fragrance. They describe it as a “powerful chemical exfoliator”, but it doesnt seem that powerful. 🤷‍♀️🏼 I will continue to use it and update this review if I notice my acne getting better or worse.

(Hopefully it’s not the latter lol).

Really I guess everyone is different, I wanted a scrub to rid dead skin and rejuvenate and I got the blackhead eliminating scrub. I’ve never suffered of black heads except the but I get on my nose and my bottom unusually enough for me.

Now on my chin and mouth area but after about a 7 months using it about 2 times a week(one bottle I used) I’ve developed a terrible break out little by little and I’m so upset! I’ve never seen my skin look so terrible.

I have cried looking at myself, I’m literally depressed and sad over this, so upset! My skin is beautiful and clear and now I feel like a teenager! I’m 30 years old with zit and black head breakouts all over that area! I will never use this product and will be warning people! So decided to read the label why does this product contain Xanthan Gum and alcohol! I’m so disappointed at myself for not reading the ingredients before buying this.

I got a small bottle to try it out and gotta say I’m pretty happy with it. It has a cute packaging and does the job. Skin feels super clean and gets rid of all the blackheads and impurities. I use it once in 10 days and I will totally buy this again.

following on from my recent review with the , this is also another product I use in my nightime routine. This is the and it’s helped me clear those nasty blackhead on my nose and in my cheeks. I use to have relatively large pores and it made my skin look dirty and as if I didn’t look after it.

After cleansing my face with the , I then use this blackhead scrub on my forehead, nose, cheeks and chin. I rub it in until the little beads dissolve and then rinse my face with a warm washer. I have decided to try a blackhead drugstore product because my face has been clogged. I have purchase this with my own funds. The scent is nice, fresh on the skin but not something I say is super effective.

It cleans only top layer of the skin removing blackheads that are coming off the skin. It doesn’t go deeper like the apricot one (although that breaks me out). It’s nice to use 2-3 times a week. Not using it every single day.

It’s okay but not the best out there. Also, if your oily skin… this will definitely make you very oily.

Skin type: dry sensitive skin Thoughts: I actually have mixed reviews on this product because I mainly got it since my friend uses this and has super clear skin. But I know that the skincare enthusiasts don’t really recommend this brand because it can be too harsh on the skin.

It is pretty grainy on the skin, so you would definitely feel it physically exfoliating your face or body. I’m not sure if I’ve used it long enough to see any benefits, but since this does have salycilic acid, it did make me break out.

The purging of my skin lasted like 2 weeks before I decided to stop using the product. I am not acne prone but I got a fair amount of small pimples on my forehead, chin, and cheeks. And it didn’t seem like it would go down anytime soon.

So that kinds of freaked me out since I usually have very little pimples, if any at all. Price: $10, pretty inexpensive and the tube will last for a while. I’m not sure if this is good for me. Or maybe I quit using it too fast and needed to use it longer than when I did use it to actually see benefits.

I am a licensed Esthetician (meaning I service Skincare needs thru facials, waxing, chemical peels, microdermabrasion and many other services), and I feel it is my job to warn people away from St. Ives Exfoliant products.

The granules are way too small to do any really exfoliation, they basically just cause teeny tiny scratches to your Epidermis which is really damaging. There is absolutely no beneficial value to this product or their Apricot facial scrub.

I know that the apricot scrub has been around for a long long time and is a stable for many who don’t know any better (in fact, as a teenager it was one of the first exfoliant products my Mom bought me, and not knowing any better I assumed the burning/irritation sensation that I experienced after using it meant that I had gotten a really good scrub and really took care of that dead/dry skin that causes flaking and doesn’t look very pretty, or make anyone feel very pretty, however I know now that the burning sensation is in fact your skin reacting to hundreds of teeny tiny little scratches and crying out for help.

) There are so many other over the counter products now that will provide you a better exfoliation than this one, or if you’re feeling frisky and want a really really legit exfoliation you could also go for gold and make yourself a sugar scrub (and it can be as simple as sugar and olive oil/coconut oil/avocado oil or as elaborate as you want by including any number of the amazing ingredients that are already in your kitchen, just do a little research.

).

I’m 45, have had a history of acne and have used alot of products on the market. But I’m glad to say, my acne had settled with few breakouts, except due to hormonal changes. Most of the time, I keep something with benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid in my arsenal when I feel likey skin is shifting or seeming a bit off.

I bought this cleanser in the hopes that it being cheaper, a basic salicylic cleanser that it couldn’t do any worse than what I’ve used up to this point in my life. This was thick, right from the bottle, and foams well.

And the ingredients and stance of the company is pretty great toward their skincare. Simple, clean lines and marketing with a great price point. But here’s the thing, this after 3 uses opened up an active breakout.

I know that when you switch cleansers, oil production and your skin balance has to get accustomed to everything, but this was so bad. I have had very clear skin up to the use of this product, and since I’m breaking out like I’m in my teens.

This isn’t “purging” or sensitivity. There are other ingredients in this cleanser within the delivery system that have to be creating problems in some people. I do use and have a history of using glycolic peels and salicylic peels for regular exfoliation and use them only when necessary.

This product should be avoided if you are someone that is expecting this to work gently and to be non-comedegenic. I really think the “purging” is more marketing than anything. Any cleanser that you use messes with the PH and generally affects your skin in some way.

If you’re wanting purging or desire an active breakout for months, use this, or explore Accutane, or look at some Rxs for a retinoid from a Dermatologist. There are better cleansers available.

So finally writing a review of The INKEY List after a few months of use with the following products: – Salicylic Acid Cleanser – Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Serum – Beta Hydroxy Acid Serum – Polyglutamic Acid Serum After using these products in order and eliminating all other products, ultimately all of these were a dud for me.

I ended up with more acne that I have ever experienced that just wouldn’t go away. It’s very unfortunate cause (1) The price is great for these, yes a bit on the small side, but I found a little did go a long way.

(2) These came highly recommended for acne-prone skin, and I had a couple of blemishes here and there that I wanted to keep away. (3) The ingredient list seemed to be minimal and fragrance free. Added a star because, I do understand this does work for a lot of people and my skin did feel clean and not dried out.

However, the amount of acne that appeared on my forehead and chin was shocking. Even changing out my pillow covers frequently (which I do already and use a fragrance free detergent). I had been using The Ordinary products for years and wanted to give these a try since I heard amazing things and the packaging travels well for the amount of traveling I was doing recently for work.

I don’t like to waste products so since I am almost done, I will finish them. I’m glad I did try them out though, but I will not be purchasing this brand again unfortunately, Bummer, but sometimes it takes trial and error.

I have been using the product for just under a week now to treat chronic acne on my chin area. I tried using this cleanser, then the Ordinary Niacinamide, followed by the Ordinary retinol in squalene, then the Cereve moisturizer.

I noticed a slight tingle after using this face wash, which I assumed was natural. But when I put the Ordinary niacinamide on I noticed my skin felt almost burning. I knew that there was an adjusting period to any new product so I’ve stuck with it for this week.

I took the niacinamide out of my routine to see if it was heightening the burning sensation, which it was a little. I also tried taking out the Ordinary retinol in squalene I had been using because I had read that pairing sialic acid and retinal could be too strong for the skin.

but even just with using this cleanser and moisturizer my skin felt really sensitive and burned if I scratched it by accident. I realized this morning that my skin looks old, and I’m 19. this product legit gave me slight wrinkles and hooded eyes, along with general redness.

in their defence, I love that this product works so well for so many people, and I think it’s AWESOME how conscious they are as a company!!! but this definitely did NOT work for me. and I do realize that I should have discontinued use as soon as I realized it wasn’t working for my skin.

I just got into using charcoal related face wash and body products lately and I decided to grab the Everymanjack one when I was getting more the other day because I like the brand. Compared to others, the texture is smooth and slightly liquidy but not too drippy or messy.

The scent is the only downside to it, but honestly I justify it given the commitment to natural products and the organic nature. After using it a couple times you notice the effect on your face. It clears it up entirely without feeling any stinging or anything.

Was honestly impressed. Make sure you’re drinking enough water and washing after the gym and in the morning and youll see a huge difference. Pretty happy with the purchase.

This is great for anyone with combination skin or anyone whose skin responds well to salicylic acid. Biggest downside to this is the tube dispenses way too much at a time. A little can go a long way with this stuff and compared to a very similar product in a different type of container like the Yes To Tomatoes Detoxifying Charcoal Facial Cleanser, it doesn’t end up lasting as long.

I’ve noticed this with pretty much all EMJ products. Their packaging tends to dispense way too much product per use comparitively.

Really enjoying the scrub. It’s one of the top two products I’ve ever used in terms of how it feels on my face and how it keeps my skin clear. Lots of products haven’t worked that well for me, but this one keeps my skin pretty clear.

A few comments: – Make sure you buy the scrubs vs. the washes. The scrubs have little scrubbie beads, the washes don’t. The containers are identical and they make most variations in both kinds, so it’s really easy to buy one when you want the other.

I speak from experience 😉 – The scrubs could be a bit thicker. The washes are nice and thick, but my last scrub was a little more watery than I’d like. Not a huge deal, and I feel that each container is a little different, but a note in case EMJ is reading this ;).

(3) Neutrogena Blackhead Eliminating Facial Scrub Oil Free 5 Oz Each its my daily facial scrub that I use everyday. I like it a lot 👌nice creamy texture. It just feels nice to look after ur face and just ur self.

Love this scrub. I use it after washing my face, I mostly use it on my nose cheeks and chin. It’s amazing how it smooths your skin and leaves it like velvet.

I purchased this as I have blackhead prone sking thag worsens during my time of the month. I was in normal shop so I was unable to purchase any big name brand so I grabbed this and It really was a waste of money.

I haven’t wore makeup in two months or sweated much so this really gave me the chance to test the product. I’ve notice no change in my skin atall, the beads aren’t scrubby. It doesn’t lather up well.

It hasnt made my skin feel any different.

I initially gave myself a hard time when purchasing this. I’ve been trying to steer clear from harsh scrubs and only use chemical exfoliants, but I really wanted to try something on my nose and chin.

I didn’t think this would be the answer to my sebum/blackhead problem, but I thought it’d have to do something as far as help with my texture. I have to be gentle with this scrub, only because I know those little shards in the product can be harsh on the skin and possibly create micro tears.

Keep in mind I only use it on my nose and chin; very textured, dry areas that need something more than the rest of my skin sometimes. I use this seldom when I notice it’s looking rough and dry. I use this product with water to help glide it against the skin too which helps.

I don’t notice it removing my blackheads per se like it claims, but it helps smooth out bumps and even out the roughness. Plus, the packaging is so cute!.

I love how cute this product is. It is easy to use, as I only have to remove the lid and apply directly. No mess! Even though it is not the strongest blackheads removal product, it works and doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin.

And, as it has a funny octopus shape, it makes skincare routine more joyful.

Recently, I have noticed I’ve been experiencing a lot of skin congestion and breakouts especially in my chin area. I recently came off of a strict diet so I attribute these skin issues due to that. I have a few Murad products that I alternate into my routine and being that I’ve only had positive results with the line, I ultimately chose this cleanser to combat said issues.

I love that you do not need much of this gel cleanser to thoroughly clean your face. A little truly goes a long way. You do immediately get a tingling/cooling sensation when using this cleanser but I have not found it to irritate my sensitive skin at all.

No adverse reactions whatsoever. My skin absolutely did purge after use in the beginning. It seemed like I was waking up to a new breakout every morning, however, about two weeks into using this every morning, my skin not only cleared up but this helped clear out the skin congestion.

Overall, it does work. I’ve been using it a little less now, mostly when my skin starts to feel congested again or during that time of the month and this helps keep all those issues at bay.

I started using this product last week because I noticed a few hormonal breakouts. I had a sample from a subscription so I thought why not give it a try? I only used it maybe 3 times at night and my face had broken out soooo bad from it.

I have combination skin because I have seborrhea and eczema. My skin is super dry in some parts and super oily in other parts but with both of those dermatitis’ it makes my skin pretty sensitive. I should have done some research before using this cleanser because now my skin looks like I just hit puberty.

My face has NEVER broken out this bad before and it seems like I just keep getting more and more cystic looking acne bumps as the day goes on. I definitely do not recommend this to anyone who has sensitive skin because my skin is also getting really dry, flaky, and itchy.

Not sure why it made me break out so much though. Do your research before you use it.

I have struggled with acne and oily skin my whole life, I’ve tried multiple products from multiple brands and I’ve had multiple bad experiences with quite a few products and this is definitely one of them – I’ve always heard amazing things about Murad and when I saw this I just had to grab it and I do love a few of their other products from other lines! This cleanser came in a acne set which also came with a mattifier SPF and a acne controlling lotion and the whole line for me was a no-no.

My skin became SUPER irritated while using these products. The cleanser burned my skin as soon as I started applying it, especially closer to my nose/eye area. The acne control product did nothing for my acne but left my skin red and sensitive and I have never been one to have sensitive skin.

The SPF went through the same path, I tried it for a few days to see if maybe it was just a bad first impression but it did the same for my skin and also made it sensitive to the point where it would hurt to wash it off.

I do believe it was bad luck sadly because like mention I’ve had Murad products that I’ve liked before but I wouldn’t recommend this line/product at all.

I am 38 y/o and have been prone to a few breakouts here and there but nothing too bad until about 18 months ago. I was under quite a bit of stress and so put it down to that. I seemed to be getting bad breakouts on my chin area.

I did some research and thought i would try this. Both my usual morning and evening cleanser had salicyic acid in so i knew my skin was used to it as an active ingredient. My skin really dried out using this, you could see the dry skin on my chin and around my nose.

It also caused the worse breakouts i have ever had in life. I had several new spots every day. I emailed The Inkey List and was advise it sounded like my skin was purging and this is normal. I read up on this process and agreed so carried on, (this was about 2 weeks in) I made it to about 5 weeks and then decided enough was enough.

It was just the same and my skin even felt rough against my pillow which was annoying as i sometimes have trouble sleeping. I went back to my original exfoliator in the evening and a more gentle cleanser for the morning, its only been a week and since i have gone back and i have had 1 small whitehead near my nose and the others i had present from using this product are all fading away.

I’ve got this cleanser as a sample at first and later I ordered a full size. The sample had enough product in it to really try bit out which I appreciate. I think this is going to be my favorite cleanser ever.

It does not aggregate my already sensitive ans slightly red skin and removes pure oil as I use oil cleansing as the first step of a double cleansing method. It feels like it does clean inside a pore.

I have an issue with cleansers not doing a thorough enough job and later I have to deal with clogged pores. Not with this one, I really enjoy using it and my skin is not dry afterwards. Also, a little goes a ling way with this cleanser.

Overall, I am very happy that I purchased it, I wish I could order samples sized bottles as gifts for my friends to try.

It’s actually amazing how well this cleanser works! It feels so gentle on the skin, doesn’t really cause any tightness after washing, yet it is really clearing up my mild acne nicely. I recently had a big breakout after using a moisturiser I was trying (yet to find a moisturiser that doesn’t break me out) and have been using this plus the matching hyaluronic acid serum morning and evening for just over a week and my skin has really calmed down.

I also use the inkey list’s glycolic acid toner every other evening which does a really good job at fading red marks left behind from old spots. I would recommend this product to anyone. Still just so amazed at how well it works for the price.

I bought this two months ago after deciding to replace the cleanser I currently used. I have often used neutrogenas facial scrubs/washes and use their moisturiser daily which I am absolutely in love with.

I know that sometimes you need to wait a while for the new product to kick in as it won’t have immediate effects, especially as your skin adjusts to the different product. However, two months later I am actually furious with the fact my skin has ended up worse than it was two months ago! No, I have not changed my diet, my exercise or my daily facial routine.

To begin with I thought ‘ah ok here are some spots coming through, but that is whilst the foundation of my skin becomes smoother with a clearer complex’. I was very wrong being optimistic. I was breaking out way more than I ever have, whilst my face remained unsmooth.

On top of this, the product left my skin red and it looked irritated. I persevered for two months, positive that there would be a good change as I believe in neutrogena and their products, but with my birthday coming up I couldn’t keep going with skin in this state.

Today for the first time in two months I have gone back to the cleanser I used prior and my face already feels so much better from it’s use. Unfortunately, I would definitely not recommend this product as no other cleanser I have ever tried has had this bad effect on my skin.

When i started using the product, I was hopeful. I saw some changes and thought that was just the initial process. Soon after, however, I’d apply the stuff and it would be like I haven’t applied anything at all.

My face remains the same. It’s not worse but it’s not better either. So, the product did not work for me as advertised.

This product is fab! No surprises why I keep coming back for more. My holy grail. You should try it too!
