20 Best Skincare For Hormonal Acne (2023 Updated)

I’ve had this for about 3 weeks. It is the most effective of all the spot treatment products. I get blind pimples on my chin and it draws out the pimple to a head. I have noticed it has reduced scarring on healing blind pimplee.

I have noticed people are saying it is runny however you must let the product settle into two parts before use and do not use the liquid top portion and only dip to the bottom sediment and do not shake the bottle.

When it ships it is not immediately ready for use so let the layers settle for a few hours and store upright. It is very thick if you use it properly.

This is my third purchase of the product!! Absolute love. It dies out the fresh pimples in one night and with large ones, two to three days. I will feel insecure whenever I run out of this product!! only downside is that the clear liquid dries a bit quick, for the last to bottle of mine, I had to throw it out because the liquid all evaporated when there’s still quite a bit of active ingredients at the bottom of the bottle.

I started using this product back in my teenage years when I just had little blemishes pop up during my time of the month! Way before these acne treatments were even popular like Kate Somerville’s or Mario’s.

I LOVE this treatment and will choose this one over any other brand any day. This product also is what turned me into sulfur products that work so well with my skin! It’s a small container but lasts a long time and I’ve even added alcohol to it when the liquid part is all used up but there is still sediment left to it.

TRY THIS before buying any other brand. It’s totally worth it!.

Hard to tell whether this serum has really helped to clear my blemishes and acné. The serum does, however, make my skin feel less irritated. My skin feels soft and hydrated after use. This serum includes a lot of antioxidants and other great ingredients, including Niacinamide (Vitamin B3), Panthenol (Pro-vitamin B5), Allantoin, Sodium Hyaluronate (Hyaluronic Acid) and the three main forms of Centella Asiatica.

All ingredients are approved for acnéprone skin. I would recommend this serum for dry, sensitive or irritated skintypes as well. I am currently on my second bottle of this serum, and would repurchase again in the future :).

I think this serum is good for calming the skin when it’s suffering from breakouts and for dealing with their aftermath, soothing the inflammation. I’m currently using my second bottle of this product, although you don’t need much of it: just target the specific areas that need it.

I don’t have acne scarring but some old red marks from older spots, and although I was expecting a more dramatic result with them, I’m still hopeful that in time those marks will fade a bit more. I think they’ve cleared out a bit, but i think first and foremost this product is for soothing rather than for dealing with old marks.

I have dry, slightly sensitive skin, and this serum was ok for me.

This one is just great! Bought it for my cousin who has problems with acne, large pores, blackheads and whiteheads. She’s been using it for a month now and i can see a clear difference in her skin already.

It looks more fresh and clean with less bumps. I’m about to order a second bottle. Only downside is, it’s pretty pricey, so it’s good to wait for any discounts.

Finally found the perfect cleanser for my face and skin type. I’ve already noticed a huge difference in overall oil reduction, texture, and clogged pores, so I’m pleased. I have combo oily/dry skin on my face, so some areas over produce oil and some areas are drier than a desert.

But a couple of things I noticed about this cleanser is it works really well to unclog the oily areas and keep them moisturized a bit. After about 4 days, I did notice the salicylic acid starting to work and my face was flaking off, but that’s what it’s supposed to do.

So I added some Jergens Ultra Healing lotion to my routine and WOW it’s effective. The dry parts of my face are moist, the oily parts are moist but not oily. Would recommend.

Bought for my daughter who suffers mild acne on her face and moderate back acne. She’s used this for almost 60 days. The first week she noticed a difference. The cream works ok on her face but dries out her skin.

I have literally tried dozens of facewashes to reduce my spots. A neutragenia orange one was probably the best until I started using this. I use 5% strength. It does dry the skin out a bit so I only use it once a day.

I am careful not to use it on the delicate eye area. I recommend if you have never used it before to begin every other day and gradually increase usage as your skin adapts. I found my spots increased for a week or so but then it began to have an effect.

I used to get one or two deep-seated large obvious spots on my cheeks or nose appear every week. Now hardly ever. If I do they are smaller and less noticeable. Highly recommended.

You changed the formula which means it is not the same and the ingredients are no where close to what they were in the Acne Medicated Lotion as they are in the Clarifying Acne Lotion, so the ingredients are changed which I have both bottles that lists/proves that.

The new formula is absolutely horrible and is making my skin break out because of the changed ingredients. I wish you would let your consumers know that you switched the ingredients/formula before making this purchase! After 18 years of using and having the clearest skin, I am certainly disappointed that you don’t have both options anymore.

Gave me the worst painfull alergic reaction due to high amount of benzoyl peroxide. Very bad that its not written anywere that the cream contains this major amount of benzoil peroxide, its only written on the back in miniature letters!! My face was swollen and red for a week with excruciating pain.

5 percent of benzoyl peroxide should only be sold with a doctor’s prescription! Be awere.

Gets along well with my oily and acne-prone skin. I had breakouts in the form of many small bumps along my forehead and side of my face. My skin had previously responded well to BHA topical (I used farmacy BHA) but for whatever reason my new breakouts were not responding to the BHA.

I saw this product on a Youtube video about a year ago and decided to try it out about a month or so ago. I AM NOT KIDDING – it has been the ONLY thing that gets rid of my painful cystic acne within days.

My break outs could get pretty bad, deep-rooted and painful with puss at times – ever since I started using this product though, my acne has not only reduced/dried up within a day or two, but also is not able to get that bad or go that far to be painful anymore.

I don’t get painful puss-full acne anymore because it’s already reduces and goes away within a few days. Sometimes when I apply it on some areas of my face it’ll sting for the first 5 seconds but then that goes away and it kind of just shows me it’s working.

I use this product specifically on the larger breakouts I have and then also apply it on the redness areas and I have seen a sigificant change in my skin since I’ve begun using it. I don’t even think my prescription acne ointment works this efficiently at drying out the acne without drying out the rest of your skin/face.

I would definitely recommend for anyone who is/has struggled with painful acne for a long time. I’ve had cystic acne for a few years now but it’s finally cleared up enough (with regular use of this & Sephora’s AHA night cream) that I can work on healing and clearing redness and acne scars and don’t gotta struggle with painful acne every other day anymore.

I still do get pimples (especially if I stop using this for a few days on new acne) but this product really helps to keep them at bay and lets my skin heal and clear up with the reduced amount of painful and deep rooted cystic acne.

The reason why I took 1 star off is because when I use it around my nose or forehead, I guess because of the strong smell in it, sometimes my eyes get watery/sensitive. Additionally, once the liquid part of the product finishes, the pink part by itself isn’t as effective.

Other than this, this is honestly a game changer!.

I have combination skin which leans more towards the dry side, but it’s still acne prone. Last week I had a horrible breakout and my forehead was covered in pimples. I bought this, used it at night, and woke up with significantly clearer skin.

After three nights of use, my pimples are completely gone. The only downside is now my skin is pretty dry, but I expected this considering I do have dry skin and used salicylic acid. I thought about giving this 4 stars due to the drying, but I don’t think that would be fair considering I expected it and that’s what salicylic acid does.

Just be prepared to use some face oil after a few days of this. Overall, amazing product that does its job and eradicates breakouts.

Really happy with this product. It quickly reduces redness and inflammation without being harsh. I apply with a q-tip and don’t massage it in and it stops the pimple in its track overnight. A couple application a day (or when possible because I’d let it sit for a bit) and in a couple days, crisis averted.

I’ve been a long time user of Badescu’s pink clay for pimples but this is much better in my experience. Keep it small and topical though, I applied on a general area that was breaking out and it did make my skin peel a little.

Was in the market for a non-drying spot treatment. My skin is fortunately pretty clear so I don’t regularly use drying acids–as my skin is already on the drier side–but occasionally I’ll get one giant pimple to accompany my period.

First off, this is way too runny to be called a “gel” and too runny to be a spot treatment. Would do better rubbed into a larger patch of skin, which I don’t need. Plus it’s orange, so not discrete, and possibly staining if it rubs on any clothing.

It’s definitely non-drying, and didn’t damage my skin any further. but also not effective. I didn’t notice any improvement. Scent is natural smelling, but not offensive.

I’ve never seen anything marketed for malasezzia – I lost it when I saw that on the side of the box and I knew I had to try it and the matching spot treatment. And it’s WORKING for me! It’s flattening all the little bumps and fading my dark marks more than anything else (even the antifungal medicines).

I didn’t love it right away though: Face wash: The texture is a bit grainy and there’s a clay residue it leaves behind that made me feel a bit dry (if you have very oily skin you might love it though).

I switched to using it only once a day, applying it only to my troubled areas, letting it sit for a couple minutes, then rinse and use a gentle toner on a cotton pad to clean the rest of my face and remove the residue.

It also has a clay-like texture and I don’t usually like matte (I don’t like it from the wash) but the spot treatment is something different all together – I look so clean and soft, it’s weightless and I don’t feel dried out at all.

Nothing’s ever kept me matte all day while also feeling this comfortable. I was using this at night but now I switched to using it during the day because it looks so nice. It doesn’t go well under my makeup though so it’s only for no-makeup days.

I think this duo is seriously worth a try, play around with it to see what works for you. Starting slow is usually best.

I had heard a lot of good things about the Skinfix Acne+ 2% BHA Cleanser from many other skincare influencers so I was super excited to be gifted the cleanser by Skinfix to try in exchange for my honest opinion.

So first impressions, this cleanser comes in a really nice easy to use squeeze tube packaging. The cleanser itself is very gentle and mild and perfect for use with a electronic cleansing device. I also found that the Skinfix Acne+ 2% BHA Cleanser lathers very well with just a little bit of product.

The Skinfix Acne+ 2% BHA Cleanser promises to clear up skin and keep acne at bay by controlling sebum production with ingredients such as 2% salicylic acid in the form of BHA. As a person with oily to combination skin with some acne from masking since Covid, I noticed that the cleanser was great in keeping my t-zone area generally less oily and it was helpful in settling the acne and my inflamed skin where my maskne occurs.

I would highly recommend the Skinfix Acne+ 2% BHA Cleanser to anyone looking for a mild cleanser that helps with acne. If you don’t have acne issues, this cleanser is still good for preventative measures and daily use because it is so gentle.

I’m dealing with some stubborn acne lately. I opted to try this cleanser instead of a BHA product that worked in the past, La Roche’s Effaclar 2% gel cleanser. There’s no comparison between these products.

This cleanser is not only significantly more expensive, but it doesn’t seem to be nearly as effective. It has no slip or lathering effect, requiring a large amount of product to be used to avoid excessive friction when rubbing it into skin.

It definitely exfoliates, probably due in part to said friction. It had very little noticeable effect on active or developing acne. I switched back to my Effaclar cleanser and quickly noticed how much more effective it is, while using far less product with a less irritating process.

I speculate that this poor performance could be due to packing too many active into a single cleanser, causing formulation changes that reduce the efficacy of the Salicylic acid, but I’m not an expert.

I do know for sure that this was a waste of money.

I was having horrible breakouts, worse than usual and a friend recommended this to me and I was skeptical at first and even worried it’d just become another skincare product I’d never use but that was far from the truth.

Overall: Everything in this kit is really nice and not too harsh on the skin while still also providing results. I really like the value on this kit too. I was worried by buying this kit that I’d get super small sample sizes which yeah the moisturizer/spot treatment is small in comparison to the cleanser but I feel like I can get a few months of use out of this no problem.

Cleanser: I really like the smell of the cleanser, smells like florals in my opinion but not too scented and it doesn’t leave a film/tightness to your skin. I use it nightly and haven’t had issues with it.

My first night using it I could have sworn I saw results, it may not have wiped out the acne all at once but I could tell it did something overnight. Spot Treatment: Looks like it does it’s job, I feel like generally anywhere I apply it to there’s a difference and the area will better within a day or two depending severity.

Moisturizer: Isn’t too bad, I don’t use moisturizers as often as I should since I personally already have combo skin but that’s not the issue with this one- I just don’t like extra layers and am forgetful! This moisturizer doesn’t feel too oily though and actually absorbs into the skin really well.

If I feel like there’s a few spots rearing their head and I want to take action on them during the day I definitely use the moisturizer then which it seems to have generally helped.

Also benzoyl peroxide can bleach fabrics. I highly recommend these products for people with mild, hormonal acne. We need a travel sized kit with these items!.

I’ve been extremely impressed by these products. I have fair, acne-prone skin that has transitioned from normal/combination to oily as I’ve gone from my mid-20s into my early 30s. Even on my best days, I still battle redness and sensitivity, and after having my first child in June 2020 I’ve been battling cystic, hormonal acne (1-5 bumps at a time, anywhere on my face).

I have run the gambit on skincare over the years — prescription, OTC, high-end ($250+ for 1oz of only-so-good product), drugstore, facials, etc — I’ve tried most avenues with mixed results. I’ve been using these products along with their hyaluronic acid and peptide serum for ~4 weeks and it’s exceeded my expectations.

Stubborn bumps that have been lingering for weeks on the bridge of my nose, cheek, and jaw have almost completely disappeared. My redness has improved and my pores look smaller because my skin isn’t as oily.

I never have to many pimples except when it’s hormonal or I’m stressed, I’m 36. But the last 2 week it was bad, I had a huge break out on my checks, white heads and huge bumps. I didn’t know what caused it Bc I am on the same birth control.

I used the moisturizer, Cleaner, and spot treatment. I have super oily skin, and this dried part of my skin out. The upper part of my right cheek was super red and became so sensitive, which my skin is normally not.

I also had a little peeling, and a burning sensation when I went to put on other moisturizers. After about 2 days, the burning did stop slightly. I have tried plenty of products, but this has never happened.

I received the No7 Laboratories Acne Treatment for free in exchange for my honest review. While the product is more expensive than products I’ve used in the past, or purchased for my teenagers, I believe it is worth it and something I will invest in again.

I’ve used cheaper products before that dry out my skin and seem especially harsh on my teenagers. They thankfully don’t break out often and only some acne here or there, and the other products are way to harsh for their otherwise clear skin.

This product comes out purple and is easily spread on the problem area leaving it just dry enough to work but not dry out the skin and it is not oily or greasy (and easy to remove from my hands after applying).

My mid 40s skin appreciates the ease and how quickly it works on the bit of acne I get as my hormones change, and my teenagers appreciate how it seems to start working overnight without the dry itchy feeling.

My daughter was worried it would stain her pillow or smear but it dries nicely and wipes off easily in the morning.

I’ve tried many prescriptions and over-the-counter medicines over the years for acne and have used Retin-A too. When BzzAgent sent me a free sample I was excited to see what it could do for my skin. It took a few uses to notice a big difference but I love that it’s more gentle than Retin-A.

Definitely still have to use a moisturizer though or, depending on your skin type, it can dry out your skin. After using it for a couple of weeks I’ve noticed that my skin is clearer and my pores appear to have shrunk.

Love this! I even think my fine lines have faded with is definitely a plus. It’s the first acne treatment I’ve used (other than Retin-A) that’s designed to minimize fine lines and wrinkles. I would definitely buy this product again and know my teenage daughters can benefit from it too.

I have combination skin, so I struggle with both oil and dryness, and get breakouts that I am managing pretty well with other products. When I used this spot treatment as directed (use daily on acne), I found it to be too drying for my skin.

Instead if I have a pimple I will use this every other day on the affected area. I have found it to work well with these modifications. It is also worth noting that I am trying this product while it is winter here, so my skin is at its most dry.

I like that the product doesn’t feel harsh, sting, or have an intense chemical smell, which I have experienced with other acne products. This spot treatment is very light feeling, and a little goes a long way, so I think that this amount of product could last a long time.

The only thing I don’t like is that the pump bottle makes it difficult to only expel a little bit of product.

In the beginning when I first used this, I was amazed. The product easily absorbed into my skin and my skin felt good and clean. However, after a few days of using it (I only apply a thin layer on my skin once a day), my skin started to peel really bad.

I stopped using it for a while and then used again – this time, I’ve used it a few times a week, however, it was still peeling my skin. I felt this maybe too strong for me. This product is still good, but only use it sparingly otherwise, it will dry up skin.

The concept of it is different, it’s a pink paste-like clayish sediment that sits at the bottom of the bottle, with clear liquid that sits on top. Most importantly, DO NOT SHAKE THE BOTTLE TO MIX THE INGREDIENTS.

I repeat, DO NOT SHAKE THE BOTTLE. You take a clean q-tip (or cotton swab, for those in legal copyright branding), dip it into the pink stuff, dot it on your surface face blemishes, let it dry, go to bed, wake up and wash off.

Honestly, idk why there isn’t more hype around this product. It’s original, unique, and most importantly: effective. Kate Somerville also makes the exact same product, but then slaps at $28 price on it.

So don’t do that, get the one from Mario to save you some coin.

I had actually went in to The Skin Center for my microdermabrasion and chemical peel appointments, and the woman suggested I try this. Yeah, I was amazed. It is great stuff. And if you are into skin care and beauty products then you are aware of the name Mario Badescu.

It’s been around since 1967, and THIS has been around since the 1960’s and is STILL the brands #1 best selling product @ $17 (Amazon) So it’s salicylic acid, sulfur, zinc oxide and (yes) calamine lotion.

It draws out the icky, exfoliates and cleans the pores. I added a photo so you could get somewhat of an idea what it is. You have to keep it upright so that it separates. You don’t shake it. You grab a Q-Tip and place it inside until you have some of the pink ointment on it.

Then all you do is put a dot on any surface blemishes you have before bed, and usually they are gone in the morning. Depends on how bad they are. I look like I have the chicken pox around that time of the month.

IšverstiShow in original languageI believe that as the alcohol coats the pink solution on the end of the cotton swab, and as the very first part of the product to come into contact with your skin, it works to instantly clear away bacteria on the pimple too, giving the pink solution a better chance at working.

And work it does! I find myself using this product more during summer, because although dehydrated, my skin is nevertheless oily. And when combined with the year-round heat and humidity where I live, it’s like a recipe for disaster as it seems to stimulate the oil production into overdrive mode which leads to the inevitable acne.

The ones I do get are usually whiteheads and rarely cystic (the painful red bumps) which is lucky because whenever I have tried this on cystic acne it doesn’t make any difference on those. I love how quickly it dries, never transferring onto my pillow, and the bottle is small enough for travel too which is a bonus.
