A skillet is a type of frying pan that has sloping sides and a flat base, making it ideal for cooking a variety of foods. Skillets are typically made from cast iron, aluminum, or stainless steel, and they come in a variety of sizes.
When choosing a skillet, it’s important to consider the type of stove you have, as well as the size and shape of the skillet.
If you have a gas stove, you’ll want to choose a skillet that is made from materials that conduct heat well. Cast iron or aluminum skillets are good choices for gas stoves, as they will heat evenly and prevent hot spots.
Stainless steel skillets are also an option, but they may not conduct heat as well, which can result in uneven cooking.
When it comes to size, you’ll want to choose a skillet that is large enough to accommodate the food you’ll be cooking. If you’re cooking for a family, a 12-inch skillet should be plenty. But if you’re cooking for just one or two people, a smaller skillet will do.
As for shape, skillets typically come in two shapes: round and square. Round skillets are good for cooking larger items, like steaks or chicken breasts, while square skillets are better for smaller items, like vegetables or eggs.

This pan had a nice slick coating that doesn’t require a non-stick spray as some of the other “non-stick” Teflon pans do. This pan has gotten a lot of use out of it so far. As a family of 5, a 9. 5 inch pan isn’t ideal so I plan to purchase a larger version because we like it so much and use it often.
This particular size is a great Omellete pan and also works well for frying up fajitas for 2. I love that the food glides along the bottom and is easy to toss around without getting stuck. The heat evenly distributes wheres some of the larger pans overlap the burners so its difficult to achieve an evenly cooked meal.
This pan is dishwasher safe but I prefer to handwash my pans as I feel that dishwashers can be abrasive to the coating. We love pur new pan.

I love these cast iron skillets! I bought a set of 3 for a great deal on Amazon. Just make sure to keep them seasoned they works wonders! I’ve used them for everything from homemade Tortillas, to rice, pork chops squash.
You name it. I feel like they make certain dishes taste better 🤔 😋.
The 14″ cast iron skillet is much bigger than my burners so the middle is hotter than the edges, even after preheating for several minutes. I made pancakes and they came out half dark and half light because the middle of the pan is hotter.
I’m going to try a diffuser under the pan next time. The capacity is tremendous so I was able to make a big batch of chili in it. It is great for browning the meat and veggies because it has huge surface area.
You just have to keep moving everything around because the edges of the pan are not as hot as the middle.
This rusted within the first week of useage. I’ve used cast iron for many years and know how to care for it so I was shocked to find this full of uncleanable rust. It was the perfect size and seemed to be very versatile until the rust showed up! Sadly, had to return it.

The polished stainless rim paired with brushed steel body creates a striking look.
The first time I used this skillet I burned what I was cooking. I failed to recognize the superior heat conductivity of this skillet. The second time I used it, I didn?t need to heat it beyond medium.
It cooked perfectly, evenly, and clean up was a breeze. This is a very well made, high quality product. You will not be disappointed with its performance. You may have sticker shock, but the product itself is superior to any other skillet I?ve ever used.
Definitely reward yourself with the best; I recommend this product wholeheartedly.
Had this pan less than a year. Curious to see how durable the non-stick surface lasts. Out of the box, it is a good looking tool. The handle is very striking. As are the flat rivets. When I was shopping, I figured the flat rivets were just a gimmick.
Now I truly like them. Some technical notes. The handles get hot. At least on gas they do. Ever see the demonstrations? Cooking an egg without oil? This pan does not. That said, it only takes a couple drops to cook an egg.
I have to assume my pan is defective based on the other reviews. Absolutely everything sticks, and badly. I was so excited, the pan looks awesome and it looks and feels like nothing will stick to it.
But everything sticks so bad that is is unusable. I’ve tried using a ton of butter but it takes so much I essentially need to use it like deep fryer to avoid sticking. and still stuff sticks. Eggs are impossible.
I planned to give this to Goodwill as it looks great but honestly I wouldn’t feel right dumping it on someone at Goodwill. Avoid this pan at all costs, it is the worst.

These fry pans are easy to use, easy to clean and heat up quickly. A warm soap and water cleanup is all that is needed. The pans are dishwasher safe, but it doesn’t seem necessary to put them in a dishwasher.
Cooking eggs, making skillet fried chicken uses very little oil. Sprinkling a dried herb seasoning may stick to the base of the pan when cooking chicken parts but it cleans up very easily. These pans are a great gift or perfect for the student returning to college dorm / apartment life.
The two different sizes allows easy cooking of scrambled eggs, fried eggs, and grilled cheese sandwiches. The larger pan is great for fried chicken or larger entrees when cooking a larger meal. These pans do not come with covers, but covering with aluminum foil can substitute for cover, if desired.
These fry pans work well on ceramic top stoves. The pans heat up quickly. When cleaning, soak the pan in warm soapy water. Do not use an abrasive cleaner or a metal type scrubbing pad on the pan. It may affect the finish coating on the pan.
These frying pans are the worst. Unfortunately my wife got taken in by the hype at the store and brought these home. The supposed “non-stick” coating lasted not even a year. We always use oil or butter (helps conduct heat) and after only a couple of months, things were starting to stick.
A year or so later, tried making an omelet, and the eggs stuck around the entire perimeter of the pan, to the point that I couldn’t even get them off with hot running water and a brush. In fact, in my efforts to clean them, some of the “non-stick” coating came off! Talk about your unexpected outcomes.
So into the garbage they go. We’ll replace them with Rock frying pans, since we have two of those and they’re both going strong years and years later.
were these people given a free product or what? LOL! I cook twice a day and recently switched all of my cookware to toxin frees ceramics. I have had excellent luck with each piece and they cook flawlessly.
This pan was cheap and I took a chance. HOT SPOTS, horrible uneven frying Chipping wihtou dishwasher or meatl ware, I put towels beteen each pot and pan and hand wash everything, all wooden or silicone utensils.
The worse part is it developed hot spots that burned that no amount of olive oil and seasoning after and before use would cure. I used it about 8 times and threw it in the trash. Its thin, its cheaply made and I dont trust the toxin free integrity compared to what my high quality pans look and feel and perform like.
Build layers of flavor with the 5-Ply Clad Stainless Steel Nonstick Frying Pan designed for precision cooking with exceptional base-to-rim heat conduction. Crafted from 5-layers of heat conductive metal throughout, this heavy-gauge skillet is built to fuel endless possibilities in the kitchen while providing superior heat retention.
Skillet is finished with triple layer, PFOA-free nonstick that is strong enough to stand up to daily wear and tear. Unique black stainless steel handles are dual-riveted and provide a sleek table top presentation.
Sealed rims prevent corrosion, allowing for frying pan to be truly dishwasher safe. Oven safe to 500°F for versatility, freedom, and creative cooking.
This Kitchen Aid 12. 25” frying pan is great! I love how big it is and that it’s stainless steel. This frying pan seems to be of great quality and seems quite durable. I feel like it is sturdy and will be dependable for long term use.
Because the pan size is bigger and all stainless steel metal, it’s quite heavy. The handle is very thin and lightweight though which makes handling the pan convenient and easier to use. The frying pan performs nicely as it heats up well.
The five layers of metal allows the pan to retain its heat. This allows me to cook my food with more flavor. The frying pan is oven safe and usable up to 500°F. I have been hand cleaning the pan, but will note that it is also advertised as being dishwasher safe.
Overall, this is a high quality frying pan and I highly recommend if you’re looking for stainless steel cookware.
This pan is a great value. Let me start by stating that I own one of the more expensive other brand “clad” pans in the same size. This KitchenAid is heavier, which means more material for better heat distribution and retention.
What’s not to love—it distributed heat evenly, and cleans up easily, if you do your part. The key is to let it heat up dry for a couple minutes, then add your oil and let that heat up. Then when you add your food it is largely non stick, without the questionable non-stick coatings.
Clean up is easy, and most of the time we just pop it into the dishwasher and it comes out fantastically clean. The only caveat is that in this size, this pan is heavy (which is a good thing in my book), but just know that going in and size down if needed.
Most nonstick cookware is created at a max temperature of 900°F and can rapidly lose their nonstick properties. I have been through Teflon, ceramic and any other non-stick pans including the much touted copper pans.
I also have to tell you I do go to max temp and back down to medium, which is tough on coated pans. I got this Kitchenaid Hard Anodized pan and you can tell strainght away that this is professional grade.
These pans are metal-utensil safe and are durable enough to transfer from range-top to a 500°F oven. I was impressed with the quality and comfort of the handle and am constantly amazed by its non-stick performance especially for eggs or omelets which just slide off like nothing!!!!!! Recommended for professional use but have a full set at home too.
Zyliss The Cook 2 Piece Nonstick Frying Pan Set brings a modern approach to the kitchen with their implementation of Swiss coating technology. The 3 layer pan is reinforced with the ultimate ceramic coatings makes this a guaranteed nonstick pan.
The small grooves on the surface of the pans collect oils and fats reducing the need to constantly lubricate surface. This multi-purpose pan can withstand temperatures up to 356°F, making them usable on both stove tops and ovens.
This is by far the best general purpose pan I have ever owned. I use it most days for a variety of different foods. The non stick element is amazing and the fact you don’t need to add any additional oil makes it even better and a healthier way to cook.
I use it to cook fried rice, curries, spaghetti bol, bacon, sausage and the list goes on. The depth of the pan is perfect for our family of 5 including 2 very hungry teenagers. The heat is distributed evenly across the whole pain so the food cooks through at the same time.
Having the extra small handle on the side makes it easy to lift off the hob. Also, as it comes with a lid it means I can cook dishes in advance and leave it with the lid on until I’m ready to reheat and serve.
I hate leaving food uncovered so this works really well for me when I’m busy and need to cook in advance. It’s really easy to wash aswell as long as you don’t use a scourer on the inside. A soft cloth or sponge does the trick and then it’s good to go again.
I would definitely recommend this pan to anyone, it’s a great addition to my kitchen.
I have no complaint with the seller. Fast response and shipping. Price fair. The cover for the small ironing board did not fit ANY of the five small, portable ironing boards I have. I MADE it fit with string and many safety pins and it is doing its job but it is going to be difficult to take off to wash and put back on again.
Bruntmor | Complete with comfortable grip handles, this is a skillet you can use for anything from homemade pizza to steak to hamburgers. Transfer from the stovetop directly to the oven for perfect cooking.
Perfect-sized cast iron skillet that fits a 16 inch pizza or 6 hamburger patties. Great for frying bacon, cooking eggs, chicken, steak, and hamburgers. Works on all cooktops including gas range, induction, and electric.
Oven-friendly up to 500 F and fire pit-friendly. Pre-seasoned cast iron is ready to use right away and easy to maintain.
I needed a cast iron pan with higher sides than my existing Griswold and Wagner griddles for making pan and deep dish pizzas. This looked like it will fit the bill. I wanted to try the 16″ size which measures 13.
250″ across the bottom. I might purchase a 20″ skillet later as I still need a larger base diameter for pizzas. Bottom is slightly rough comparded to the older pans. I will try the original finish first.
If that is problematic, i will polish out the bottom and reseason. Update: well after using this pan right out of box I’m impressed with the non stick properties of this pan so far and the ability of this pan to make a great pan pizza crust.
I did reseason the pan before the first use, and because I use this pan only for making deep dish pizza so I always oil the pan before throwing the crust in. I like the handles due to the size and weight of this pan removing it from the oven or turning is alot easier than a regular skillet.
Also a ATK hack I use sometimes if the topping are finished before the crust, is removing the pan from the oven and browning the crust using the stove top burner.
Firstly this is an excellent skillet and why I gave it a 5. However I purchased this to do steaks in the big green egg which is 19′ internally. The top of the skillet is 16′ but with the handles it measures 19.
75′. So you cannot put it in the big green egg and close it. There is an earlier miss leading picture showing this at 19″ handle to handle, this is incorrect. I do wish that vendors publish important details like handle to handle size so we can make informed decisions.
I could tell first thing it wasnt as high quality or as sturdy/thick as my lodge. I like it, but even after seasoning it sticks. I’m going to season it several more times and hope it improves. It warped in the center on my stovetop, but mostly flattened back out when it cooled.
I’ve never had that happen to cast iron before. The size is great though. I’ll keep it, it works, but I won’t buy another. Next time I’ll spend more and buy a lodge.
Classic cast-iron cooking is all yours with this Victoria pre-seasoned skillet. diameter 2. 8″H x 13. 3″W x 20. 5″D Model no. SKL-212 Gift Givers: This item ships in its original packaging. If intended as a gift, the packaging may reveal the contents. Size: 12″. Color: Black. Gender: unisex.
I live that the surface is smoother than Lodge. The handle is longer and doesn’t get super hot. It fits perfectly on the burner and heats up evenly. I washed it, and deed fried chicken tenders in it.
The results were golden perfection. Once it cooled and I poured off the residual oil, I washed with hot water, and dried. It had gotten its dark, oiled slicked, seasoned coating. It was beautiful. I was hooked and had to order the 12 inch.
I would definitely rate Victoria up there with Lodge. Lodge #1 and Victoria #2.
I love this brand and these cast iron skillets. I have bought two 12” skillets as gifts after being pleased with their 10” pan. I seasoned one before gifting it and was impressed and picked one up for myself.
I just finished seasoning it 2 times and used it today. I have a 25 year old Lodge without helper handle and this Victoria is about 4oz lighter with a better handle and nice helper handle. I think it is a better design than the currently available Lodge 12” skillet.
I bought this pan because I read an article that named it as the best pre-seasoned cast iron skillet, and when I looked it up on Amazon, the price was really good. I had already bought a 10 inch preseasoned skillet from a different manufacturer, and, to be honest, I think that one was seasoned better.
But now, after using this for a few weeks, the seasoning is pretty solid, and it’s a lot roomier. Plus it’s just gorgeous to look at. Very happy with the purchase.
Diamond Lite Pro is made of high quality cast aluminium with a cut and abrasion resistant, five-layer reinforced diamond sealant. 6 mm thick thermal floor promises rapid heat distribution and optimum heat storage, which does not warp even at high temperatures.
Thanks to the very high thermal conductivity you fry almost without fat and save energy at the same time. In addition, the additionally reinforced pouring rim guarantees clean pouring. The ergonomic stainless steel handle is ovenproof up to 250°C.
Suitable for all types of cookers, except induction.
It’s good to excellent as long as you don’t over heat it, then it’s no longer non stick and reduced to the same quality as a cheap pan, but if you keep the heat down then it really is super To have a fry pan that can take higher temperatures you pay more because its heavier and a different coating it’s up to you.
I have one of these and a diamond version for higher temperatures and will not let my wife near them. On the rare occasion that she cooks she has her own fry pan -.

We use frying pans regularly in our home and I am yet to find the ‘perfect’ non-stick pan – I recently tried the Ninja Foodi ZERO and have been using it for a few days, so far I am incredibly impressed by the quality and versatility of the pan.
This pan is simply beyond ‘perfect’, it’s wonderful! The pan can be stacked with other Ninja Foodi pans – or there’s a hook on the end should you choose to hang then. The pans look really modern and smart.
The pan heats quickly and evenly – retaining heat well and are responsive when cooking with variable temperatures. I’ve found when using the Ninja Foodi ZEROSTICK pan, I do not have to use oil when cooking – which is great for those who are wanting to cook a little healthier.
The non-stick/ZEROSTICK works incredibly well in my opinion, we’ve tried; eggs, chicken and vegetables in the pan – all haven’t stuck! There’s no burnt-on mess and nothing clings to the pan. I like how versatile the pans are, they are suitable for all hob types (gas, electric and induction) and are also oven safe – ideal for cooking one pan meals, minimising the need to use multiple pans and in turn, reducing the amount we have to wash up! I like the fact that you can also use all utensils with the pan and not worry about damaging it – for example; it can be used with metal utensils without the worry of damaging it.
Clean up is a breeze; the pan is very easy to wash by hand and cleans up really well, they are also dishwasher safe. The pan feels sturdy, durable and high quality – the handle doesn’t get hot at all when in use.
Pros: – Thick, high quality, weighty pans – feel really sturdy. – Stainless steel handle; ergonomic and comfortable to hold. – ZEROSTICK surface is durable and really does work! – Clean, rinse, wipe and go – quick and easy to clean.
– Versatile; for use on hob and oven. Cons: There aren’t any with this product to be honest! I absolutely love this Ninja Foodi ZEROSTICK pan and can safely say it really is the best frying pan I’ve ever used – another fantastic and practical product by Ninja, highly recommended!.
I got this Ninja Foodi Neverstick pan a little while ago and really like it. I have several non stick pans which I have used for years. This one has several clear differences which I believe make it much better.
First off it has a steel handle with no coatings. Personally this is much better for me as I find that no matter how nice the rubber coating is it fades, peels ext. over time. Secondly it’s not uncommon for me to put a pan on the top of my grill.
I like an egg on a burger so I have to get out cast iron to put on the grill as I do t want to mess up the handle of the non stick pans I already have. I don’t know that I would put this on the grill on really high heat but I will say it’s much heavier and thicker than other non stick pans.
I feel like it would hold up much better. Speaking of the construction of the pan I think the thickness of the bottom really makes it heat evenly. It holds the heat well and evenly like a stainless steel pan or cast iron without the major pain of cleaning those kinds of pans.
Along the lines of cleaning it was really easy and the coating is very nice, even and without coming off from the first several uses like others have in the past. Time will tell how it holds up but it certainly seems more premium than other also “premium” brands I have used in the past.
At the end of the day I really like the pan for how it cooks and how I think it will hold up as well as the simple things the handle and construction will allow me to do. Try one I think you’ll like it too.
This is a top-rated pan on many web sites for its non-stick characteristic and longevity, and after about 3 weeks of use I have to agree. But the fact that the bottom is not flat bugs me. I called Ninja after I noticed a crowning in the middle of the pan the first time I used it – I wanted to confirm that this was designed that way or if I had a bad pan.
Some cheaper pans warn that their pans will warp (or crown) if they are subjected to too much heat. Ninja Customer Service confirmed that the pan was intentionally designed to be a little higher in the middle, with a very gentle slope to the outside edge (often called a crown).
This is good if you’re cooking something that will release fat while cooking (like a single steak). The fat will run to the edges. But you can’t get a round pancake if the batter runs toward the edge.
A single fried egg will spread unevenly. And a 2-egg omelet? It is very thin in the middle of the pan as most of it will run down toward the edges. Tilting the pan to try and get more to the middle doesn’t work – it runs around the crown to the other side.
Crepes also need a flat frying pan, or a crepe pan, so this won’t do. If you can live with these limitations you won’t be disappointed.

At first, I thought the problems I was having with my pan was a fluke. Pan was 100% non-stick for about the first four months. After that, I fried an egg with butter and a little olive oil & the egg stuck to the pan.
Even hamburgers and pancakes stick to the pan. The ceramic coating started wearing off the bottom of the pan within about nine months and in the tenth month the Blue Diamond ceramic coating wore off the face of the pan.
The pan was never dishwashed but hand washed. Never use any metal utensils in the pan. Very disappointed in this pan! I would never waste my money on this product again. The only good thing about this pan is that the nonstick surface lasted longer than the show called copper pans.
I guess now it’s time to try the granite Stone pans. I really think they’re all a bunch of hype!.

Cast iron improves its solid reputation with Cuisinart Chef’s Classic Enameled Cast Iron cookware! Home chefs can explore different cooking methods – from searing or grilling in the pans to slow braising or simmering in the casseroles.
With incredible heat retention and even heat distribution, these versatile pieces yield great results whether it’s on the stove or in the broiler or oven. They also can go from oven to table and double as elegant serving pieces!.
I love Cuisinart and I was so excited to get this one, my first one. I imagine you are hearing a “but” there and you are. The bottom enamel is discoloring after only a few uses and the cast iron has a hot spot and needs re-seasoning.
Except for the hot spot it heats evenly and cleans easily. I would still recommend this product. It is beautiful and I would buy another piece of Cuisinart in a heartbeat.
I saw this enameled, deeper skillet, called a ‘chicken fryer’ and loved it at first sight. Then I read some reviews about the inside of the skillet bubbling up and coming off and wondered about that.
I thought about it for a couple of days, looked at the regular cast iron brands for one like this (apparently there isn’t one), and then I read something on a blog that made me wonder if the people saying this had happened to them were doing this practice, being used to regular cast iron pans, and causing the problem they were complaining about.
The blogger was talking about cooking with her cast iron (non-enameled) skillets and commented about “pre-heating the pan on a higher stove setting”. It made me wonder if the problem was not with the pan, but the too-used-to-cast-iron ingrained habits with them that didn’t work on the enameled ones.
So I bought it. I’ve cooked with this pan four times now, and while I still preheated it SOME, I made sure the heat was on a lower setting than I would have if it was a regular cast iron pan. I have turned the heat up some DURING the cooking process, but it had been heated some on low first, the food item(s) added, and after a bit of cooking I turned the heat up SOME, not to high.
I’ve had absolutely no problem with this pan doing any kind of bubbling of the cooking surface (nor anywhere else) and it washes & dries beautifully being an enameled pan inside and out. NOW my hubby is allowed to use THIS pan, as otherwise he tends to wash my regular cast iron with soap and dry it with my light colored tea towels (argh!!).
I haven’t, and doubt I will, fried any chicken in it – I just really like the deeper sides and the enameled aspects of this pan – less mess on the stove and easier cleaning.
Even though it has an enamel interior, this is far from a nonstick surface. Cooked some bacon and then use the bacon grease to scramble some eggs. Eggs still stuck on. I then had to use a soft scrub after soaking pan overnight to get rid of the burnt on food.
I just as well have used my regular cast-iron pan Which is nicely seasoned and would not have stuck on like this.
The pans feature a non-stick coated layer surface that ensures quick, effortless food release and eliminates the need for butter, oil, or cooking spray! This makes tasty homemade food slide out easily.
This classic fry pan cooking set comes pre-seasoned to prevent the cookware from rusting while it sits in storage.
They are not pre-seasoned. I was wondering why is that. I ordered pre-seasoned because I didn’t want to go through the seasoning process. It’s very hard for me to take my returns to the store because of my work schedule.
The Mainstays 12 inch Cast Iron Skillet is a staple in every kitchen! Fry potatoes to golden brown, put a perfect sear on steak, and bake cornbread with crispy crust. Enjoy even heating followed by an easy clean-up.
The 12 inch size is large enough to cook for your entire family. Cast iron is a great option whether you enjoy cooking at home in the kitchen, or outdoors while camping. This skillet features an easy pour lip on the side and a helper handle making it easy to lift.
The handle includes a hang-hole for storing your clean skillet in the open, should you so desire. This cast iron skillet is made from heirloom quality cast iron. With the proper care and maintenance, it will be usable for many years.
I received this as a wedding gift 6 years ago and use it just about every day. I have several pieces of cast iron and know how to care for it but this one warped very quickly. It’s much lighter and thinner than any other piece of cast iron I own.
It’s good for free and use it to cook eggs daily as my “don’t care” pan. But if you want the true cast iron experience (which is amazing BTW), spend double the money and invest in a lodge. Or better yet, find one in an antique store to restore.
It’s loads of fun and satisfying. When you buy cast iron, it’s an investment. Not a bargain hunt.
Cold forged aluminum body ensures efficient heating spread uniformly across the entire pan’s surface. Granitium nonstick coating is reinforced with ceramic particles and revolutionary speckles, boasting exceptional scratch resistance for all types of utensils.
Forged aluminum. Dimensions: 10″ Fry Pan: 3. 3″ H x 11. 3″ W x 18. 5″ D. Overall Height – Top to Bottom: 4″. Overall Width – Side to Side: 12. 5″. Overall Depth – Front to Back: 19. 5″.
So to start with, they looks good and appears to be a quality item. This one doesn’t look like it has any unhealthy non stick coating, but it has pfoa non stick coating. It’s not explicitly mentioned anywhere in the website.
Even though it says it’s ptfe free pfoa is harmful when it’s heated in high temperature. Coming to me, I have used this pan very very carefully and never used any metal utensils even though it says it’s safe for doing so.
with just couple of months of usage the peeling started coming off a bit. It can easily go unnoticed because of the design. So if you’re looking for all green pan this is not it. But it’s natural to have pfoa coating on any non stick pan unless it’s mentioned not having.
Also you should be very careful with the coating and have an eye on any scratching or peeling. I bought it twice to see if am doing anything wrong but not giving any more chance.
To be perfectly honest, my husband is the one who chose this pan. I tried to talk him out of it because there were other brands that were much cheaper. I’m so glad he persisted. I guess that old saying is true.
You get what you pay for. The bottoms of our old pans seemed to “warp” over time and often wobbled on the glass surface of our flat top stove. When the food started to cook unevenly or the “nonstick” surface wore off, we’d go shopping for a new pan.
We had this problem no matter what brand we bought. Well, the Ballarini fry pan has broken that cycle. We have used it daily for several months now and I can truthfully say it is an amazing product! We cook with a variety of heat levels, with and without oil, and it performs beautifully every single time.
Nothing sticks and it is SO easy to clean up. It does take a tiny bit longer to heat up than my old pans, but that is a minor issue considering its overall quality and features. I highly recommend you buy this pan.
It’s just me and my wife at home and I do all of the cooking. I bought the small pan specifically for eggs. I can flip the eggs with no spatula. Sometimes I sprinkle some shredded cheese on over easy eggs.
In my tired pans, the cheese ALWAYS sticks and I need a spatula to free the eggs before I flip them. I agree with others that the vertical sides help keep the stove cleaner, and the excellent non stick makes flip stirring easy to do.
Others have commented that the pans take a little longer to heat up, but to me this is a very reasonable trade off to get very even heating. I will get the two larger pans for vegetables and risotto.
The heat indicator is a very nice touch. I’m hoping I can find open stock or Ballarini glass lids for the larger pan at least. I bought them in store fwiw.

Care & Use Instructions: Before using your new cookware, wash thoroughly in hot soapy water using a soft cloth or sponge. Dry completely. For better non-stick performance, it is recommended to add a teaspoon of cooking oil prior to each use. Never heat an empty cooking utensil. Be sure there is oil, butter, liquid or food before placing the cookware on the range or burner. It is not recommended to use high heat. Cooking on excessive heat can cause permanent damage to the non-stick coating. Never cut anything in the cookware or use utensils with sharp edges as to avoid piercing the non-stick surface. Add salt to water only after it has come to a boil. Salt grain deposit on the cookware bottom will attack the metal as the heat melts it down. Never use metal scouring pads to clean the non-stick surface. Never put cold water into a hot cooking utensil. Let cookware cool down on its own or place it in lukewarm soapy water. If using a ceramic stovetop, lift the pan rather than sliding it across the glass plate. This cookware is oven safe up to 350 degrees F (176 degrees C). Higher cooking temperatures or longer cooking time can cause the handle to get hot. Always use oven mitts. Never put in the dishwasher. Take note that the shine of the coating may become dull and discolored due to the action of certain detergents. Our warranty does not cover this type of wear, as the performance of the cookware is not affected.
Reviews From Real Customers
One day I’m singing along to New Kids On The Block, their newest single Hanging Tough playing on my favorite pop radio station. Me and my friends call in every hour to request it, taping it off the radio until we can save up enough babysitting money to buy the CD.
And suddenly I’m thinking to myself, ‘Wow, Consumer Reports was right. This ROCK pan IS dope!’ When did I first realize I have a favorite burner on the stove? Why is cookware organization so exciting? When did I get so old? I don’t know.
Here’s what I do know. Consumer Reports gave this pan a great review and I totally see why. It’s like if a non-stick pan and a cast iron pan had a love child. It heats evenly and won’t warp just like you’d expect from a cast iron, and heats quickly while absolutely nothing sticks to it like a non-stick.
Not only is cooking a little faster and easier, but the clean up is seconds-long. It’s my favorite pan. And I bought another and gave it as a gift. Then bought a third because it was bigger and has a lid.
I only bought this pan because it wasn’t available in the black finish. I have a full set of black The Rock fry pans in different sizes and I love them because they don’t stick and clean up easily. Of course, you have to use a little bit of butter or oil, but they’re overall great.
are usually use this large pan for frying bacon or potatoes, etc. There is often a lot of food stuck to the bottom. It does clean off, but is not as thick free as the black ones. I wish I had found a black the rock pan in this size I would’ve gotten it instead.
Purchased this pan in 2017. It worked Great for the first 2 years. I cooked everything in it trying to be oil free. After that it slowly started to loose its inside lining and foods were sticking. It has not been non-stick for over a year and half and is trash.
The warranty when I purchased it was for 10 years. I wrote to the manufacturer and of course like almost all insurances, they claimed that I used the pan on “high heat” and that I used metal inside, so the warranty is no good.
I never did use metal, and I really don’t know what good a pan is if you can’t use it on your stove top. The pan is good if you expect to fill the garbage dump after 2 years of use.
The Always Pan now comes in a cast iron version, made to be durable for high heat, easy to maintain, and move seamlessy from stovetop to oven to broiler.
It’s gorgeous. Like ready for red carpet gorgeous. Not too heavy, strong handle and all the accessories are an excellent addition. The area where this turned from a 5 to a 3 was the actual cooking surface.
I’ve owned cast iron my entire life (I even have a 100+ year old pan that still cooks like a dream). I know how to season them, I know how to care for them, and I know how to wash them. I say that in advance because I treat this pan the same as all cast iron pans.
This pan however after 3 uses is already splotchy. Like when someone uses too much oil to season it. That shouldn’t already be happening, especially since I have not seasoned it and haven’t used it over 300 degrees.
I’ll continue trying to get it all evened out. However it is a bit disappointing given that the all my other Our House items look as good as the day they came.
The quality of the pan is outstanding. The design? Not so much. The pan weighs just about a ton. The tiny, square handle makes it a very unpleasant experience to pick it up. Heaven forfend you try it with the lid on.
You could pull a muscle. The lid was nicely done and well fitting. The silicone covers for the handles felt clunky. The enamel finish on the interior is exquisite. It’s also kinda sticky for some fried foods and those foods left a residue that I couldn’t remove without fearing damage to the surface.
The charcoal finish on the outside was beautiful. I thought I wanted this pan. I signed up early for it and I waited months for it to arrive. Perhaps my expectations were too high, I don’t know. I do know I ended up being disappointed in it when I finally got to try it.
This is the second time I’ve had to wait for a cast iron frying pan and I can honestly say that I was not disappointed with that one. So it goes.
I do love the color of this product. Our Place does make beautiful cookware, but their utility leaves something to be desired. The coating on both the interior and exterior chip very easily. If you expect to use the included handles, be very cautious as using them improperly will cause the pan to slide right out of your hands.
Overall this pan is an improvement from the first Always Pan bit still not a home run product. I would argue the value is not here with this product. Higher quality pans can be purchased from other retailers for the money.
Finally, don’t get me started on how long it took for this product to ship from the time I started the order.
There are a few things to keep in mind when shopping for skillets for gas stoves. First, consider the size and shape of the skillet. Second, think about the material it is made from. Third, decide how you will use the skillet and what type of cooking you will be doing with it.
Finally, take into account your budget.
The most important factor to consider when purchasing a skillet for a gas stove is the size and shape. The size of the skillet should be proportionate to the size of the burner on the stove. If the skillet is too small, it will not heat evenly.
If the skillet is too large, it will not fit properly on the burner and could cause problems. The shape of the skillet is also important. Skillets come in round, oval, and square shapes. Each shape has its own advantages and disadvantages.
Round skillets are the most versatile and can be used for a variety of tasks. Oval skillets are best for cooking large cuts of meat. Square skillets are ideal for frying and can also be used for baking.
The material the skillet is made from is also important. The most common materials are cast iron, aluminum, and stainless steel. Cast iron is the heaviest and most durable material. It is also the best at conducting heat.
Aluminum is lighter than cast iron and is a good conductor of heat. Stainless steel is the lightest material and is not a good conductor of heat. It is, however, the most durable and easy to clean.
The type of cooking you will be doing with the skillet is also important to consider. If you plan on doing a lot of frying, then a skillet with a non-stick surface is a good choice. If you plan on using the skillet for baking, then a skillet with a smooth surface is a better choice.
Finally, take into account your budget when shopping for a skillet for your gas stove. Skillets can range in price from a few dollars to a few hundred dollars. It is important to find a skillet that is durable and will last a long time.
It is also important to find a skillet that is the right size and shape for your needs. With a little bit of research, you should be able to find the perfect skillet for your gas stove.
