20 Best Ski Socks For Kids (2023 Updated)

This is the second time I have bought these socks. They keep your feet from getting so wet in summer and warm in winter. They keep there shape well through many washing. A note: The color black is mostly gray.

Brown would be brown but still grayish. I recommend them highly if you are wanting a good pair of socks. I wore cotton socks for years but now only the wool will do.

Having recently discovered Fun Toes Socks, I now have happy feet! These socks are the best Ive ever worn! They are super comfortable and very breathable. They wash as well as they wear! I ordered 12 pair! And, you know, Ill probably order another dozen! Fun Toes, Thats ALL I wear now!!.

Aside from the fact that I was really looking for a light weight wool sock these really are an overall well made nice fitting and decently priced sock. more of a boot sock or hiking. and for that you probably can’t beat the quality/fit/pricepoint of these socks.

a decent alternative to the high tech high end $10-25 per pair socks which are great but I’ll save those one or two pair for more extreme wear.

I am working on managing and reversing my Type 2 Diabetes. A large part of this involves various types of exercises, for which diabetic socks are useful. However, after a while mine unraveled and became stretched out.

I went to my local store to look at another brand for replacements, but stumbled across these. When I read that they were meant for activities that are rough on your feet, they grabbed my attention. Even though running is not one of the activities I participate in (I lift weights, do some cardio and also walk for miles), I still bought them because they looked well-made and had what I call a “Goldilocks” amount of cushioning – not too much, not too little, but just right.

I chose “Medium” size because I wear between an 8. 5 – 9 in athletic shoes; I also have wide feet and lower arches now. It turned out to be one of the best decisions ever! If you are reading this review (thank you!) and have Diabetes or just want non-binding socks, please check this brand out.

The cushioning helps avoid chafing; there is a seam at the top, but it is very faint. I have not had the issue I had with other types of socks where the inside seam rubbed against my toes so much that it caused damage to the nails.

The fabric is very comfortable in hot or cold weather and environments. The ankle height cuff does not slide down nor does it cut off your circulation from being too tight. As a bonus, they are not slippery on the bottom, so if you even want to just buy a pair of these to kick back in, you don’t have to worry about sliding all over the place.

I will be actively looking to buy more from other local locations. My only wish is that they came in a multi-pack as I’ve seen online.

I’ve been wearing these since ’07. I drive a truck, do oilfield work, run big equipment, all of which are hell on socks. My first full length pair lasted 11 years, 11 years of hell. Oilfield trucks are often hell on the left foot.

Too many miles, too old and the clutches are like pushing a bull through a trailer door. Boots, really good boots, last a year and the left one is worn out. These things have saved my life for more than a decades and they just keep on keeping on.

They let the sweat go through when you have good boots that let the sweat go too. I used to go through a pair of regular cotton socks in 2 days at times. When I got a chance to not constantly shift they’d last a month.

maybe. I went through all sorts of brands and get slightly better results. I just tried a pair of these one day even though they were expensive. I couldn’t believe the comfort nor the durability. They were the best thing in my lift including heavy Wranglers, all the HD shirts, everything I wore.

If you need some comfort and work hard, this sock can’t be beat.

I’ve been wearing these for years and they helped me overcome horrible problems with blisters on the strike pads of my feet; no matter what, I always started getting blisters at about the 4 mile mark of walking.

These still seem to still be the most padded socks on the market and even with all the newer well cushioned shoes, I’m afraid to try anything else. The down side is I consistently get holes in my big toe.

I thought maybe it was just me, but another friend says she has the same problem. I try to catch early and can darn, but it’s frustrating. I have other brands, including Thorlo Expedia that I wear for other uses and those never get the holes as do the original Thorlo’s.

That is the reason I downgraded a star.

My wife finds it difficult to find an appropriate size in the ladies range. This one fits her perfectly. Not only that the socks are thin and warm.

I like the idea of the foot part of the socks being slightly thinner than the chunky ribbing on the leg part, as you get extra warmth whilst still being able to wear your normal footwear. If you choose to wear these pulled up rather than folded over or wrinkled, they are slightly longer than average for ankle socks, so are useful for wearing with cropped trousers.

They appear to wash well. I bought them in nutmeg, which is a good neutral pale brown.

These socks achieve the twin goals of being a good fit that doesn’t squeeze your toes or slip down under your heel while the soft grip on your leg is very comfortable and doesn’t leave a mark behind.

Perfect for the cooler weather that has begun. Worth every penny.

I love the design and colors of this sock! Initially I wasn’t sure if I would like the design on my calf. I have larger calves, and sometimes designs would get distorted. No issues here though! I wore this pair of socks while lounging around the home, and hiking.

There’s no snow here in Wisconsin yet, so I haven’t been able to test them while snowboarding. The socks are soft against my skin, and give the right amount of cushion. I’m personally a fan of the targeted cushioning.

The cushion that sits on the shin isn’t noticeable at all when you wear it. The cushion by the toes and heel is great too. I didn’t have any irritation. It’s a super durable pair of socks, and I’d definitely would purchase another one!.

I absolutely love the ski print, one of my favorite designs by far. What is most important is the function of the sock. very nice! Just enough cushion at the bottom of your foot and at the shin. My ski boots normally press tightly against my skin but with this sock you don’t feel it.

We got some snow last week so I tried it with my hiking boots and discovered how comfortable the cushioning was in the foot. Definitely great for snow shoeing and skiing. The socks are well made and I know they’ll be durable because I own other pairs of skiing socks from Smartwool and I’ve had them well over three years.

I find the 360 printing to not only be functional for more variety in designs but also a beautiful way to capture imagery in socks. This pattern is no different and the colors are rich, vibrant, and eye-catching.

This printing process allows variety in patterns without the seams and bulk of extra wool in the traditional weaving process, this sock in comparison is breathable and a good weight without adding bulk.

The only caveat was that I found the sock too tight, I have more athletic calves and this is an issue with most socks over typical crew height. That being said I could see the compression element of calf height socks being desirable in a ski boot, in comparison I only used mine in daily cold weather wear setting #SmartwoolLove.

Socks of great quality. Didn’t keep it as the 2 pairs are not the same design and photo doesn’t represent it properly on the site. If you’re not picky on design, you’ll be happy with these socks.

Came back this year for my kid’s next sizes after using these last winter. Nice colors, definitely longer than your average sock and my kids really like them. As in, it’s 70 degrees in December and they really want to wear them.

These are a bit thick for warm to cool weather; we save them for really cold outdoor play. I think they are actually too thick to let the kids wear them at school, so they don’t get hot feet. Not actually complaining, but my kids are- they would wear these with sandals just to compromise.

I will be back when my kids or wife need more winter socks. These hold up well and are just about perfect.

I have peripheral neuropathy like a lot of diabetics and my feet hurt all the time, especially my toes. Fox River socks provide just the right amount of compression and they are comfortable to wear. The way in which the toes are sewn are superior to other socks that I have tried.

Fox River socks also hold up very well wash after wash, so they’re definitely worth the price if that’s a concern for anyone considering purchasing them. They are the only socks that I ever wear aside from my thick warm socks that I have to wear to keep my feet warm when I’m at home.

We like the black diabetic crew socks. We both wear them daily. We do recommend them, and will buy more. They are the “go to” sock, and the only ones we wear now. The elastic is different from our old diabetic crew socks (which have all worn out,) so we found these to replace them; the new elastic does bind a bit, but it’s still way better than “normal” socks.

We agree that a longer sock that comes to the top of the calf would be really good to have.

Where to begin. I had been looking all over for warm clothing for my 10 year old son, that lives with his mother. I say that because it’s comes into play later. Well, I came across this site and well, even though it was pricey, nothing too expensive for my son’s well-being.

I purchased a top, bottom, and pair of socks. You know, a whole sleeping set up. Well I shipped it to son’s house. It arrived in good time. Mom gets it and puts it in son’s room which knew to look for the items because I had given him a heads up.

He hates cold weather reason why he was looking forward to his warm PJ’s. He opens package and throws them on. (Wears them). When mom notices they fit a bit small. He wore them overnight and takes them off.

Mom notifies me about 20 days later, when I went to pick son up, per visitation schedule, that they didn’t fit and that son had wore them. I asked customer service what could be done and they said they needed original packaging.

Son had threw in the trash. Customer service said there’s nothing that could be done but they could give me 15% discount to purchase again! My purchase price was 178. 66. Really? Only thing you can do for me is a 15% discount to purchase again? No thank you.

I really thought I had found the answer to my prayers regarding warm clothing for my beautiful boy. I guess not. Only thing left is continue on my journey in finding such clothing with service willing to help.

Use the socks for myself as I have very small feet. Grown up size normally doesn’t fit me. I love the color of this pair and wish they have more similar darker tones combination. In terms of thickness, I expected a bit thicker with Marino wool materials.

Keep my feet warm inside the house and not enough for outside use with cold temperatures like in the 30s.

Love these socks, great product! They are soft, comfy, true to size, and have a great amount of cushion in all the right places. Perfect for skiing, but also work great for nordic, snowshoeing, or just walking around town trying while trying to stay warm.

They hold up well with washing and the designs are super fun!.

I purchased these socks for motorcycle riding in colder weather. They have worked admirably and are quite comfortable! My feet stay warm and dry! I wear them with Forma Adventure boots, which helps with the warmth factor.

The socks are advertised as keeping feet cooler in summer months also, so I’m curious to see! Again, these are great socks! They are OTC and stay put…they don’t fall or sag. I will be purchasing more of this sock and some of the others! I didn’t think socks were a big deal…socks are socks, right? Wrong! I’m glad I learned of Darn Tough.

I’ve purchased this sock from Darn Tough for three straight years, hoping that there’d be adjustments; Fantastic construction, feel, colorways, etc. — but much much too narrow. I wear size 12 feet but purchased XL in hopes that there’d be more room with the instep and ankle (never mind the calf).

Even my wife, who wears a size 8, can’t get her heel through these easily! Total blood-stoppers, which leave me with room in the heel/toe, and strangled in the middle. These Pennant over-the-calf socks do not match the proportions of their other styles (thicker socks for Hiking), which are just fine.

I think I’m finally allowing myself to be disappointed.

These socks are great! Not only do they cover my feet, they cover my shins and calves as well. I wore them snowboarding and they stayed snug and tight. Not like Pistol Pete’s socks that would sag. I would argue that had he had these socks, he could have held the all-time NCAA scoring record without the 3-point line.

I wore “ultimax” ski socks for 20 years (yes, really – the same two pair!) until the elastic finally wore out. I researched and found that Snow Whisper Ski Socks were the replacement. I have small ankles and calves and these socks were rather “straight” cut – no contour to accommodate the shape of a ladies leg.

The part that covers the foot seems to be the same (very light weight for those with properly fitting boots), but the leg and top of the socks were heavier. Overall, they were ill-fitting – too large for me.

Trekt accepted the return, and I purchased Smartwool socks instead. I am hoping for a better fit.

I would have preferred that this sock be higher on my calf. As a size 13 foot I ordered a large. Nice medium cushion and would probably work well as a padded sock with shorter boots. I prefer something heavier in cushioning in this type of sock.

Nice sock, nicely made but not for me.

The small amount of extra padding in shin and heel healped reduce my issue of heel slippage I was experiencing. Warm and wick and dry moisture extremely well.

I have not worn these yet but I bought them because they have always been reliable for both Alpine and Nordic skiing.

Have been wearing this sock ONLY for forty years but used to buy them from Bailey’s or Madsens while still working. There is no one alive that champions this sock more than me.

Fox River socks are the best socks I have ever worn. I have never worn one through to a hole, they just get thin spots but never a hole. Worlds Greatest Socks!!

My wife loves these socks, these socks have a great fit, snug and fitted to the foot so there are no bumps, lumps or ripples in your ski boots. Great compression fit and great print. They match her Spyder ski suit.
