These are great. They are waterproof and they keep my hands warm when its super windy outside. Theres also pockets in each glove to put hand warmers in. I actually used these pockets for my pass so I dont have to take it out each time! They also come with wrist guards so you dont lose em when you take them off.

The wrists are also adjustable and theyre easy to adjust even when you adjust them with a mitt on your other hand. They are true to size. I got the large and I’m able to put a touchscreen liner glove but I also have small hands!.

I bought a pair of these for each of my boys for snowboarding. I wanted mittens with the pocket to add hand warmers, but so far they’re warm enough that they haven’t even been necessary! I got size small for my 4 year old (XS was sold out) and while they are big and will last multiple seasons, because of the adjustable wrist strap, they stay on just fine and keep his hands nice and toasty.

I got mediums for my 8 year old and they’re a great fit with room to grow as well. So far they’ve been really waterproof too and have only been slightly damp after a day on the mountain, I’m guessing due to sweating not because snow seeped in.

Best snow/ winter mittens Ive ever owned. It has been 3 days of work continues use. Went snowboarding in them. The inner lining is amazing the 5 fingered separated gloves are very handy when you just need to use all 5 fingers and not expose your hands.

There are elastic wrist straps that ensure that your gloves will always stay on your person. When snowboarding I tend to use my hands and grab and scrape at the snow when trying to move or slow down and these gloves are really durable for the job I highly recommend.

They may be kinda pricey but the invest you get out of there are like 5 regular snow gloves in one. Gore-Tex material is the real deal. If theyre used in space suits I am sure they would be great material for snowboarding.

They keep you very warm and dry.

Great features for a great price.

The mittens are easy to put on, they fit appropriately, and they are warm. As advertised, the mittens are touch screen sensitive – although I find it hard to aim my thumb at what I want – and the inner gloves are as well.

The inner gloves also are easy to put on, fit comfortably, and provide a level of warmth on their own.

I skied all last winter with gloves and decided to try to upgrade to mittens for warmth when the member coupons came in spring. These mittens are attractive, have nice features, and feel really toasty from body heat alone (inside the house, anyway).

BUT they are such a weird shape. I followed the size chart with a measuring tape, and thought a large would work. It fit well across, but the length was snug. That would have maybe been tolerable, but the thumb is completely bizarre.

Way too short, tight, and awkward all around. I don’t have mutantly shaped hands, so who knows. These were returned.

Great overall glove that will last with care, the leather definitely loves the extra balm. Reading other reviews I can relate to the cold hands people describe where I’ve experienced this when standing still in long lift lines, in the wind or on slow chair lifts.

Unless you’re charging groomers/bump or tree runs, I wouldn’t consider these my go to “resort” gloves. Haven’t had any warmth issues with the gloves even in single digit temperatures (F), as long as I’m actively skiing or touring in them.

But I did take the advice of other reviews and got a size larger to utilize glove liners which helps on extra windy days and single digit temps. The water resistance is just that. resistant. If you decide to throw your skis on your shoulder to hike the ridge, definitely get all the ice/snow off your tips or your gloves will get soaked.

I’d still pack a second pair of gloves for the day, would love to see Hestra throw in the Czone membrane into these. The soft flex and dexterity is the best I’ve experienced in a ski glove and the thick back hand padding helped me win a fight with some tree branches.

Bottom line, I love skiing with these gloves on most west coast days but keep a set of Goretex mittens on the side for chasing storms and powder.

These are gorgeous gloves. They look and feel like a million bucks, but they are not warm. I think mine are the older (softer) goatskin version. Dexterity is the best of any glove I’ve used, however the insulation packs-out fairly quickly, and even treated the water resistance is limited.

Once you find the right size (size up), the quality, fit and feel are top notch. I’ve had a couple pairs and they have held up well despite the softer leather. These work for me at 25° and up if it’s not wet or too windy.

I have some vertical cut mittens that I use below 25° and those (although also not particularly warm) see much more action than these gloves (they’re really versatile for a mitten since the dexterity is so good).

If you’re in a colder region (I’m in mostly in VT) and/or have trouble staying warm, and you’re looking one warm & dry set of gloves ? these are NOT them. If you want to have a sweet pair of gloves to wear on the bluebird days, and don’t mind spending some dough, these are a great choice.

I love these gloves. I originally bought a pair in 2011 when I lived in Northeast Ohio, where it’s freezing cold. I actually looked forward to going outside because of how comfortable these gloves were, and how warm they instantly made my fingers feel.

I’ve had that same pair for 10 years now, and I think I got a good seven or eight years out of them before I started thinking about buying new ones. They are really warm, comfortable, and pretty tactile for being somewhat thick.

The only con for these gloves is that they don’t do super well in certain wet conditions. They never failed me in a blizzard or in rain, but I think what ultimately did my old pair in was my dog’s drool.

I would play fetch with him in the winter and the leather just didn’t like his drool when I would yank the ball out of his mouth. Aside from this (rather niche) issue, these gloves are amazing and I always rave about them to everyone who is looking to buy gloves.

I’ve heard a lot of high praise of Hestras and finally decided to spend the money on a nice pair. So far they have stood up to the expectations. I get super cold and these mittens are very good at warming my hands up.

Even if I leave them in my cold car I can put them on and they will quickly warm up my hands. The removable liner is super convenient for washing and the outer shell is very durable and the waterproof capabilities on these are insanely good – my hands have been nowhere near getting wet.

I use these when driving (although they are definitely a little bulky for that) and skiing. If you are not planning on using these gloves in the snow then I wouldn’t recommend them just because the wrists are designed to be super large to keep out snow so it would look super bulky if you were wearing these gloves without a bigger jacket.

They also come with wrist attachments which are super convenient so that you can take them off while on the ski lift and not worry about them falling to the ground. For sizing I measured my hands and ordered to the recommended size and they were true to fit (size 8).

I like to X-country ski for recreation. I live in New Jersey, hardly The Great White North as far as cold, but I have been searching for any kind of glove or mitten that would keep my hands warm from the start.

I’m still looking. These pricey mitts are no better than nearly any other type — several types of “ski” gloves or even ragg wool gloves with leather palms — that I’ve tried. Like all the others, my fingers freeze in these Hestras for the first twenty minutes of skiing ’til my body temp rises, so I have to stop and curl my fingers into my palm to warm them.

It was also a disappointment that Hestra makes these in China; I had assumed for the price that they’d be made in Sweden. I truly wonder what gloves ski racers, both downhill and cross country, wear that kept their fingers warm, particularly downhillers, who hit 70 mph; now that’s a real wind chill factor.

I suffer from Raynauds and live in Winnipeg where temperatures reach down to -30C to -40C and windchills -30C to -50C often from December through February. I have had to resort to electric glove liners inside my 8 year old size Mens medium Mercury Mitts the last 8 years in order to go snowshoeing, hike, walk, shovel snow (lots of it in 2023, for up to an hour).

The glove liners have been great with heating elements around every digit, much better than the wasteful chemical pads that heat only the palm or back of hand, but having to prepare the heated liners with batteries and keep them ready to go takes time.

However the Absolute gloves keep my hands toasty warm by themselves down to -25C for at least half an hour. With a BD glove liner they add another few degrees and time for me and with the heated liners on their lowest heat settings I’ll be good for much longer outings when the temps get down to the -40Cs.

My wrist to finger tip length is 7. 75”, finger knuckle hand circumference is 8. 25” (8. 75” with liners on). My 8 year old mercury mitts were a size Mens Medium but the liners matted out, the liners still fit in them.

I also have a pair of 4 year old Womens Large Mercury Mitts I’ve been using too which were a bit snug and they are slowly fitting better as their liners mat down. I am female and prefer the womens options/colours when possible, but when comes to keeping my fingers and toes I’ll choose the Unisex or Men’s.

Because I’m on the cusp of Mens/Unisex Medium to Large, BD first suggested I get the Large Absolute but I found my hands were swimming in the mitts and a short 15 minute test at -25C on one hand found it got cold as my hands had too much air around them; they keep warmer if there is less space to heat (as with sleeping bags, clothes, tents, etc.

). There was too much space around my hands and fingers even with liners on and when I tried to grab something the dexterity was very poor. Thankfully, BDs great customer service issued me an RA and I exchanged for the size Medium Absolute Mittens which fits great and I can still wear glove liners and the dexterity is much better.

There is a lot of space around the wrist and cuff which lets them fit over the heated liner battery pack (at the inside wrist) and sleeve cuffs. They are nice and light and compact down a fair bit to carry as backup.

I also bought a new pair of size unisex medium Mercury Mitts (as backup), size medium unisex Guide Finger Gloves (for finger dexterity for winter biking), and size large Enforcer gloves for backup, warmer temps, and when more dexterity is needed.

I have other BD products, lanterns, hiking and trekking poles, all great products. Thanks for helping me deal with this health condition so I can enjoy winter at its best (worst?) and great customer service BD!.

The fit: I have large hands (9 inch knuckle & wrist circumference, 8. 25 inch middle finger) I chose an XL which fits ok, the thumb is slightly too long and narrow but otherwise it’s roomy, in fact my fingers are in a fleecy cave of a mitt barely touching the lining.

They are big mitts and dexterity is typically restricted, but nothing exceptional or unexpected. There are no leashes included. Design: Great cuffs that envelope my baggy ski jacket sleeves, cinches are ok but don’t look durable, wish it had a ladder lock strap, but my wide wrists are grabbed by the sewn elastic.

The liner has no separate finger compartments, I can easily make a fist if I need to. They are handmade and quality is very good, they are not the same quality of vintage Mercury Mitts circa 2010. but they look like they will last a few seasons.

Who’s it for ? / What’s it for ? – I bought these for -15c colder days on the slow chairlift, perfect for that. However. don’t buy these active skiing on -7c to +5c resort days, or you will very quickly have sweat soaked hands.

I ski without poles and dexterity isn’t necessary for my use, I found holding poles fine but bindings would require you to de-glove. My advice after buying a dozen gloves & mitts is this. buy 3 types of gloves.

1) Buy Liners, gloves and mitts and bring a spare pair with you in case the weather changes. 2) Buy mitts on the larger side for warmth, then you can also fit an extra dexterous finger glove liner inside.

Don’t bother with liners in gloves, just liners in mitts it’s about the fit. 3) Also buy a mid range glove or mitt for -5c to +5 for active skiing, If you can get one with an external zipped pocket so much the better.

4)When you measure your knuckle distance , spread your fingers a little, err on a larger fit. A tight glove will affect your movement, circulation and warmth, it will also pack the insulation down and stress the stitches, both bad.

5) Leather is tough but gets wet, use a wax proofing to seal the outer and protect them, even if they have a waterproof liner. Best of luck.

The Black Diamond Mont Blanc gloves are Weather Resistant for use with Trekking Poles. They breath well and offer great wind and moisture protection while providing enough warmth to wear during high output activities while allowing your hands to breath and shed moisture so your hands stay comfortable.

Gloves are effective through a wide temperature range though in extreme heat and extreme cold you may need have other options. I use for Hiking/Trekking, snowshoeing, ski Touring, XC skiing, general Backcountry uses etc.

The Gloves offer great gripping on Trekking Poles. They are very comfortable. The Gloves fit ‘True to Size’ or just slightly Large. The Gloves are better to be slightly Large than to be too small and tight, especially if wearing in cooler weather.

I normally wear Large Gloves with Black Diamond and I ordered Large in the Mont Blanc and they fit great though a bit loose which for me is absolutely perfect. Very impressed with the Black Diamond Mont Blanc Gloves.

I’ve used them for many activities that require Trekking Poles and I find them great for much of my Backcountry needs as well because of their comfort and weather Resistant qualities.

I used these gloves for around 70 ski days now and often temperatures as low as -25 Celsius and I have to say they held up really nicely. I never felt cold in them except around -30 or -25 with really strong winds or you touch metal for a long rime in those temperatures which you shouldn’t do anyway.

they are perfect in the temperature range of -25 to -5/0 Celsius, above that they tend to be to warm and you start to sweat even when you don’t do much. The one lesson with ski touring and gloves which I feel applies to these gloves specifically well is, you shouldn’t wear them on ascend when you know you will sweat a lot.

Wool just doesn’t handle sweat well. But the fact that you can take them apart is a lifesaver for the next day. They get quite soft and more comfortable after a while which is nice and the finger control feeling is in my opinion really good considering the size of the glove.

Durability and protection is for a skier so far really good. I had a couple of tree hugging and branch slaps encounters with them and the hands were never the problem afterwards. They feel a bit more skier oriented in protection because all the protective parts are on the backhand of the glove but I could be wrong.

After 70 days of skiing they don’t seem the have picked up to much damage and I suppose I can use them easily for another 70 days without any serious damage or wear and tear. I wax them around all two weeks (when in use) and my tip would be to wax them quite carefully and precisely.

You don’t want the wax in the stitches. I suppose you don’t really have to wax them but I like to do it anyway for that little softer feeling. The thing on the middle finger to connect them to my backpack is the only criticism I have, but first I want to say it works just fine and thank you to the designer who put it on the middle- and not the Ringfinger (much better choice).

However it frays and it started doing that quite early on (which you can cut off but still it’s annoying).

This is my warmest pair of finger gloves. I have skied with these on -20F days and lower. Several toes got minor frostbite on those days, despite heated socks and ski boots, but my fingers did not. I’d say that merits a good review for warmth.

Mittens are always warmer, but you obviously loose dexterity. These gloves are beefy. The leather outer takes a lot of damage, and doesn’t show it. You can get handsy with rock and ice, and the gloves are fine.

The harsh temperatures haven’t worn out or weakened the leather, either. I’ve not been treating the leather on these gloves, or repairing them in any way. There hasn’t been a need yet. They just take whatever I throw at them.

I’ve climbed with these, and they are reasonably nimble for the bulk. Small, delicate movements are going to be hard, and bending so much insulation and leather will take effort, but you’ll be warm, and have usable fingers, so it’s not a loss in my book.

Small, ultra-light carabiners will become a pain, but cold hands are worse by a long-shot. Finally, they come in women’s sizes. It can be really, really difficult to find good gloves in women’s sizes.

Thanks, BD. One final note: you may want to be sure you have ample circulation to your hands when wearing these. Cinched wrists always carry a risk of reducing bloodflow, which in cold situations, can risk your digits.

These gloves are awesome. I think most of the people complaining about the dexterity had the wrong expectations when buying these gloves. These are full leather, bomber gloves suitable for very cold weather.

They are extremely durable, very well built, very warm, very weather resistant. Will hold up very well to use of tools and winter hiking/mountaineering gear. However, this inherently produces a very thick glove.

It does take a few good days to break them in, but once they’re conditioned and broken in they dexterity isnt bad for the warmth and durability that these provide. If your typical use for these will be spring skiing and going for walks these are not for you.

If you plan on skiing cold days, winter hikes/mountaineering in far below freezing Temps, work outdoors in winter, these are the gloves for you.

My hands get cold easily. But because I spend so much time outdoors, including in the winter, I thought I would finally splurge and get heated mitts. When I first turned them on, angels started singing.

But I’ve quickly come to learn that while these are still better than unheated mitts, they really don’t do nearly as much as I thought they would. Here’s the good: * These are impeccably tailored mitts.

Materials (Gore-Tex fabric and leather) and stitching are second-to-none, as you might expect for the price. They are waterproof, windproof and have a very soft lining. Definitely no pinching or rubbing, and fits my hands well even though they are long and slender.

There are also nice touches like touchscreen-compatible thumb, the elastic leash, the pull loop and the carry bag. I wouldn’t do heavy manual labor with them, but they do seem as though they would take a fair bit of rough use without being damaged.

* They have reasonably good flexibility for being such beefy mitts, and are breathable/wicking. However, they are still not great for fine hand movements, but that’s to be expected. * Not too flashy – just a combination of black materials, and only a small logo to indicate they are heated.

The clip and zipper do not seem to bind or get in the way. * Easy buttons to turn on and off, and read the current temperature. Only very occasionally have I accidentally bumped a button to modify the temperature, so they are okay at incidental knocks.

Here’s the bad: * If you’re looking for significant warmth, you’re not going to get it. The instructions warn to be careful about not overheating your hands. Good luck with that. Even on days between 25-30 degrees F, I’ve felt the need to keep it at the warmest setting (red) the entire time, which is cautioned against in the instructions as only being for the coldest days.

They say to use medium (yellow) or low (green) for most of the time, but my hands did not feel at all warm. Part of the issue is that the heating area is only on the back of the hand, so it relies on radiant heat to reach the palm and fronts of the fingers.

Probably to prevent damage to the heating elements by gripping and pushing on objects, but it is noticeable where there is no heat. * The batteries do not last that long. On cold days, you may not get a full day of heat on medium (and certainly not on high).

The packaging states in multiple places that it needs recharging every 3-6 months as though that’s some sort of indication of heating capability. Don’t be fooled, these need constant charging and attention, which is stated in small print in the instructions: charge after EVERY USE.

The batteries are also uniquely shaped and wired, and are a bit challenging to pack back into the inner cuff of the mitts without significantly bending the internal connectors. I do worry a bit about long-term durability, but they have an “infinite guarantee” (i.

e. , forever) so I guess I’ll see if I ever need to use it. * There is no nose wipe on the glove. Probably because it would be hard to clean, but still feels like an omission. Here’s my conclusion: These truly do provide some benefit on cold days.

But I need to always make sure they are charged, and expect for them to only last half a day at most for how I use them (low intensity outdoor stuff). If you’re out adventuring, you may find them to be quite warm.

I don’t regret the purchase, but do not believe that they are worth the price for what they provide. However, they are guaranteed to last a very long time, so I’m going to certainly put that to the test.

I bought 4 pairs of these gloves hoping I would have the ultimate mountain glove for my family. I’ve been buying OR gear since the early nineties. The sold me on their rock solid guarantee and excellent construction, i still have a Goretex shell hat that is built like a tank and over 25 years old.

That brand loyalty lead me to hope these would be great. They are not. The construction quality is not great, two of the 4 pairs are failing (zipper has failed on one and the other the glove construction has just torn apart).

These are not warm gloves, and they will not keep you warm in the rated temperatures. The battery on the lowest setting does nothing, on medium or high it does something, but not a whole lot in cold weather and the battery is gone very quickly at high levels – it’s a lot of work for no gain in the weather you need it.

The glove cuffs are quite short so they let in a lot of cold air and can’t properly overlap a jacket. The batteries don’t last nearly long enough. They don’t have leather in the high wear places so if you’re doing anything active and are holding things with them expect them to get damaged real fast.

Given the cost I expected a lot. I bought these as a big and expensive Christmas gift, we’ve barely used them for a month in the cold weather they were designed for and now the return policy is past (no extensions for gifts apparently).

We’ll see if OR customer service stands up to the reputation they had before, will update when I hear back. I also have bought multiple pairs of their full goretex alti mitts – these despite being not heated (and honestly not up to their old construction quality) are much warmer and a better bet.

I bought my first pair on vacation because they fit perfectly and I couldn’t feel the seams while I had them on. Most thinner gloves have obnoxious seams that constrict my fingers and blood flow just enough to make my hands colder with gloves on than just in my pocket, but not these.

They are soft on the inside, windproof, and very water resistant. They were perfect for every day wear on vacation. Then when I got home I needed gloves that were dexterous and water resistant for doing some winter trail maintenance that involved lopping down scrub trees and bushes, and some chainsaw work.

They kept my hands pretty dry, fit well so they were dexterous, and showed minor wear on the palms. I don’t know if the seams are sealed, but in between being in snow, picking up wet logs, and my body putting off moisture, my hands were dry enough and warm, which was amazing.

My hands were a little damp after a few hours, but they were still warm which was amazing to me as my hands are always cold. I was so impressed with them that I bought another pair. I’ve worn them shooting on an outdoor range in cold weather, driving to and from work, and regular daily wear.

They are my favorite gloves and I’m leaving this review because I was on the website again looking to buy a couple more pair so I will have them for years to come should they change the style or discontinue them down the road.

I have not worn them for sedentary cold weather activities, but I would wear mittens for that type of activity.

always. I just wanted something warm and these gloves kept me toasty warm snowboarding today with a high of 8 degrees. For once, it actually dumped snow here in the east last night and the adjustable cuff kept the powder out, and hands warm and dry.

Functionality: Had no issues buckling/unbuckling bindings. Inside the glove is a warm liner which has what I would describe as slots for fingers but it is not a glove. Fingers stay close together to keep you warm, but in place.

Got these mittens to replace a pair of failing Burton Gondie Gloves, and they did the trick! Was in the Alps for a week, lows in the single digits (F), and my hands were never cold! They are easy to get on and off, fit my hands well, and the inside dried out quickly (from hand sweat, not water intrusion).

One critical thing to do when I got them was to bake them at a low temp, apply wax, and repeat a few times. This really upped the water resistance and kept out anything from my hands. On top of all that, they look awesome, I expect to have these for years to come!.

I bought these because I really liked another pair of Hestra leather gloves. I wanted this pair for the rare, but super cold weather we get on occasion here in Seattle. I got out in any weather 7 days a week for long walks with my dogs at a windy cold dog park.

Had high hopes for these gloves but with just one use they continued to disappoint over and over again. First issue is they are just hard to get one. There is like a mini glove instead and the fingers get balled up and its hard to push your fingers through to straighten them out, especially the pinky.

And if your hands are cold when putting them on, it takes over 10mins for them to warm up. Once they are warm, they are warm which is nice. I wore the gloves two days ago and already knew I wanted to return them.

Today I was getting them ready to return, reached inside and they were still all wet from I guess my hands being sweaty in them. I have never experienced this in a glove before and it was disgusting.

Tried to turn them inside out to dry but again due to this inner glove and the bulk of the outside glove, I wasn’t able to turn the fingers inside out. I do NOT recommend these gloves.

Just received my Scott Ultimate Pro Mittens. They appear to be well made and should work well. However, I have always had a size Large hand but recently ran into a problem with some OR mittens being too small so I ordered an X-Large instead.

The Scott in X-Large fits very well, none too big. I’m sure a Large would have been too small. I’d recommend you order a size up. I do have to say I’m having some second thoughts over this purchase. I have very cold hands (Raynaud’s) and need a mitten where my fingers can be next to each other to stay warm.

Therefore, I generally avoid mittens with finger pockets or glove liners. These Scott mittens have finger pockets and I knew that, but the sale price was unbelievable and just too good to pass up. However, I’m now thinking maybe I should have ordered the Dakine Titan GoreTex Mittens that were $5 more but still a great sale price.

They would have 2 advantages over this Scott mitten: 1. A removable glove liner that I could replace with a mitt liner if necessary (and remove to dry) 2. Wrist leashes so I don’t drop my mittens when I have to take them off to check my phone, take a picture, etc (although I can easily make wrist leashes for these Scott mittens) In summary, these are a perfectly good mitten for most people.

They are very well made and this sale price is unbelievable. However, my favorite mittens of all time (I’ve had OR, BD, Marmot and now Scott) are still my Marmot Expeditions ($115 msrp) that I use all the time for skiing and are one of the best mittens according to GearJunkie.

The only downsides of the Marmot are the lack of a zippered heater pocket (but they are a much warmer mitten right out of the box), and if they get wet they can take a while to dry out since the liners are not removable.

Ordered these to replace my original pair that I left at a ski resort last year. I don’t know what it is about this style/brand, but they are the most comfortable fit for my hands. Literally fit like a glove.

warm & fuzzy inside, wrist length is wide enough to be comfy with ski jacket sleeves. Never have a problem with dexterity or pulling them on/off. Palm width is spacious enough not to cause hand fatigue, and Velcro across base of wrist just plain makes sense.

I’m 54 years old and these are my first mittens. Hands have gotten colder as I’ve aged. I’ve worn them a week for my early morning walk – 25 degrees for 45 to 60 minutes daily. They are warmer than my gloves but still my hands were slightly chilly by end of walk.

So I added a wool glove liner (I already had from a sporting goods store) and that made my hands very toasty and should be good at colder temps. With a glove liner, I’d guess these will work very well into single digit temperatures.

So 5 star on warmth. Sizing is off for my hands (yes, we are all individuals and it may be perfect for you). I’m 5’9″ and ordered a women’s large. They are long and go about 1 1/2 inches past the tip of my longest finger.

But they are snug on width and a little bit uncomfortable across my palm. Also, I think the wrist needs modification. They are designed to go over the coat at the wrist. I’d much prefer a design that is thinner at the wrist and goes under my coat sleeve.

I’ve been wearing a light weight design down coat with thick LE Serious Sweats hooded top underneath. That is too much to tuck into the wrist easily. Either I have to push my coat sleeve up above the mitten (awkward and cold wrists) or work hard to get the mitten adjusted around my wrist over my clothes which feels tight on my wrists.

These are not going to fit over the wrist of my LE Squal Coat which I wear on colder days. Overall, I’ll be wearing these for walks all winter. They are better than anything else I own for warmth. But the design simply doesn’t fit my body sizing well so I gave a little lower rating.

These are really cheap, poorly made mittens. Very thin, disfigured. Each hand was cut differently and fit differently. I got them on sale and was willing to keep them if they were okay. They were not even close to okay.

In Minnesota we know our mittens and these are junk that won’t keep you warm. I returned them. (And I was stupid and didn’t realize return shipping wasn’t free if original shipping was free. I should have read the fine print.

Really mad I paid $8 to return a defective item. ) I have tried Land’s End products. Shirts are okay. Hard to mess up a blanket. But the rest of the items I have tried to buy have been horrible. After these mittens, I am done with Land’s End.

I am willing to pay more elsewhere or far better quality and free returns. It’s been a real disappointment over and over.

Bought these for driving mittens, my hands tend to get cold with using gloves. I realize these are more for skiing and outdoor sports than everyday, but they are just a bit too big for my (female) hands, and I find the material used on the inside for the hand area is a brushed nylon or something, and with chapped hands, the feel is less than ideal.

Not bad, but not best. Still they are very warm and will keep my hands warm while driving, walking outside in our upstate NY winters. I did measure around my hand prior to ordering, but being able to try these on would have helped alot.

That is the drawback to online / catalog ordering.

These mittens are really warm in part because it doesn’t have the internal finger separation, which is what all other brands of mittens have nowadays. This is a BONUS because it keeps your hands warmer! My only wish is if they could come with wrist leash so I could have greater security that I wouldn’t drop them if I had to take them off to answer the phone or adjust some clothing/equipment.

Still, at this price, you could afford to buy 3 more pairs for the same price as the next cheapest and less warm mittens.

I usually wear a Large in Women’s gloves -so when I read the other reviews that warned that they gloves ran large, I decided that advice was not for me. These gloves are oversized. They are a women’s XXL or a mens Large.

Also, I do not see anywhere a hand warmer would tuck into, and the cuff does not look like it would keep snow out even if it is the right fit. I would not use these for asking even in the correct size.

Great quality leather, very soft! Extremely impressed. I looked at the size guide to guess which size to get and was in the middle of the small/med measurements and got the medium. Wish i got the small but they will still work so would recommend going down if you are in between.

Have not worn outside yet to test warmth. They are not super “plush” like some other ski gloves are.

Bought these for my son for Christmas. The quality was very nice and they fit great. He loved them and was looking forward to using them later in the week. UPDATE- After going skiing wearing all his new Marmot gear, He said he was warm and dry all day except for his hands.

He said his hands were cold the entire time and even after adding hand warmers his fingertips were freezing. Not sure if the fit was wrong for him as they had some extra space on the fingertips but I am so disappointed to hear these gloves did not keep his hands warm.

They were recommended on several lists I researched so I thought I had made a good choice. They just did not work well for him. Quality was good but for the price I expected the warmth.

After hours researching mittens and reading reviews I fit settled on these ones, they had the most consistent positive reviews on the sites I was checking. I ordered a size up as per reviews saying they ran small but I found the medium to be big, I could have easily got my normal size of small.

The only positive thing I can say about these mittens is that they are comfortable, the lining is very soft and they the cuff is long enough to go over a sweater or jacket. However , I’ve now used them about 4 times, the coldest being -13 and each time I wear them my hands are frozen after about a half hour.

Cold enough that I take my fingers out and put my hands into a fist to try and warm up. So beyond disappointed especially because they are not cheap mittens and had positive reviews. I would return them if I could.

These might be suitable for around 0 temps but not for any colder in my opinion.

Good mitten overall. The lack of a leash? Not a huge deal just moved form my other gloves when in use. They are good why not great. In my dream world the person who decided to put the nose wipe material in place of and not over the water proof nylon would be flogged! In wet conditions this area leaks, wets out.

Normally not a prob as long as your are cold , no liquid water. But this is simply an error that makes it a good mitten not a great mitten. Expedition? I would hate to be in the arctic and find out really cold water soaks through over your thumb.

I still recommend, just better to know what you have.

Very warm and waterproof. Just a little small. Still able to wear and performed well. Will order up a size next time.

Beautiful, luxuriously soft, and warm. They were a big hit at Christmas.

I loveeeee these mittens. I had a pair of Roxy mittens in the past and loved them and when I finally had to buy a new pair, like a fool, I went for a different brand. Well, I deeply regret that decision as my mittens were constantly wet, even at the beginning of the ski day, and they would take days to dry out.

Plus, I really missed having the wrist leash for the warm days when you keep taking your mittens on and off or those moments when you just needs your fingers for a minute. I’m so in love with my new Roxy Jetty mittens.

Not only is the pattern cool as heck, but my hands stayed warm and DRY, and I was so happy to have a wrist leash again I could have cried tears of joy. Thank you, Roxy, for making the dopest snowboard mittens on the market, that don’t also cost a small fortune.

These gloves are horrible. I wore them sledding and my hands were freezing. They also are not water resistant and already have a hole forming on one of the fingers. I wish I had not bought these! Do not waste your money.

I love these gloves but wish I would have ordered a larger size. I wear med/lg medical latex gloves so I thought Large would be a good fit. They kind of fit, or maybe I just have long fingers. I just wish I would have ordered an xl.

But there super cute, have the elastic wrist bands, and seem like they will keep me warm.

Love these mitts. Lightweight but super warm, lining is very soft, and love the color. Still room for a handwarmer inside if needed. I was looking for a bright color since the rest of my ski gear is all black – these are perfect!.

Wow! My hands sweat in these. They are great for a cold mornings walk or hike. Mittens are definitely the way to go to keep fingers and hands warm. Great sale price too!

I bought these for my teenage daughter. We ski every week and it can get pretty cold at our mt. Good news these are working great so far this winter skiing up in Vermont. No complaints at all yet!

This is terrible dishonest product presentation: nowhere on the immediate web description does it say that these are gloves in a mitten outer shell. You have to click on the + details to get that info – which I did not, because who suspects that a mitten is really a glove? It would have been very easy for North Face to simply write in plain sight that these are gloves inside mitten shells; then I would have not bought them.

The entire point of mittens for me is that my fingers retain body heat. Second, these mediums were too small; my hands were wrapped like a mummy. In every pair of mittens and gloves that I own – Dakine, outdoor research, EMS, Burton – I am a medium.

These mediums were bone strangling. Finally, North Face ships in a ton of plastic: inner plastic bag in a huge outer plastic bag. I expected better environmental effort from them.

Okay so I don’t usually leave bad reviews. I just don’t and I wanted so so badly to love these gloves. I bought the medium in sage green and was so excited to use them skiing. However the first chance I got to use them ended pretty poorly.

They didn’t keep my fingers all that warm even though it was a warm day. Yet I continued to give them the benefit of the doubt I really wanted to like them. Second time I wore them was this weekend back on the slopes….

and I have never hated a pair of gloves more than these. I don’t know how it is even possible but wearing these was worse than not wearing ANY gloves outside. On a mountain. In Vermont. In January!?!!? Like what?!? I started crying I was in so much pain they weren’t even tight on me, but somehow took away any warmth I had in my fingers until I could no longer hold my poles.

It was crazy. As soon as I took them off it was already better. I repeat NOT wearing them on a mountain during a VT winter was better. I ended up wearing a cheap pair of gloves my partner had and those were perfectly fine.

I am honestly in shock. I can’t believe I spent as much as I did on these. I don’t know if I will ever even want to wear them again. It was that painful to wear these.

I got a pair very similar to these a couple years ago for Christmas. let me tell you, I LOVE them so much. I wanted to get my sister a pair too cause she’s always borrowing mine and there were a few similar ones on the site.

Unfortunately these ones are not as quite as great as my other ones but very good nonetheless. She took them downhill skiing and never once complained about her hands being cold. I was in $130 expensive ski gloves and still got a bit cold.

Do I think hers were better than the nice ski gloves? No. But I do think they did an excellent job keeping her warm. The straps that go around your wrists are great if you’re constantly taking them on and off (like I am in the barn).

They’re also double layered so the inside is a nice cozy gloveish thing but it’s thin enough to let your hand/fingers spreading heat to one another. Outside of this is a nice wind proof, waterproof mitten layer keeping everything together.

I also have a pair of gloves made out of the same materials and they’re nothing like the mittens. I’ll never be going back to gloves after using mittens. Especially these ones or the other, thicker ones on the site.

Michigan winters SUCK and these are wonderful.

Love these mitts, we bought another pair. Two daughters two mitts. we have skied in sub zero temps in the last week and no issues. the leather is nice and soft and the quality on the inside is very good.

Love these mitts, the leather is exactly what I wanted, and this is the first time my hands were too warm snowboarding! They keep you nice and cosy. Only complaint is that they got dirty from carrying my board, and on lifts and I wasn’t able to get a couple of the stains out.

These are warm and that’s what I was looking for! Haven’t tested them in wet conditions yet, that will be a review worth posting when I have. The only downfall is there is not a wrist attachment so you can safely take them off and not drop them.

I can’t believe I paid $70 for these. Are they warm? For sure but also extremely difficult to grip anything! They’re too bulky and I have to use so much force to try to simply grip! Bought these for skiing but bending my fingers to grip anything is a workout in itself so it completely defeats the purpose.

These will for sure keep your hands warm but good luck trying to get any movement with these on. Bought two different sizes because I thought the first size was maybe too small but turns out these are just not well made.

There’s also something wrong with the way they’re sown. Sadly have to return them which is an inconvenience.

I measured my hand and ordered the size recommended on the Gordini website. They fit perfectly, and have no dexterity issues at all. These were the most reasonably priced and highly rated gloves I could find.

Looking forward to wearing them for years to come.

These gloves have exceeded my expectations! They fit my hands perfectly, keep them toasty warm and look great. Thanks Moosejaw for carrying such a great product.

These fit well, but a little tight so hand warmers may not fit inside if someone needed them. I wish the liner was removable so I could add my own glove liners instead or if they had glove liners instead of a mitten liner that would be a nice option too.

That would make it easier to take things on and off and type if need be, while still having the outer mitten for warmth and activity. With that said, they are very warm and of high quality!.

Ordered these gloves twice now as first pair had a hole in them. When second pair arrived they were Kimble tagged together. So we carefully cut the Kimble so we did not cause another hole. Two days later the hole appeared.

A very poor way of keeping the two together given how costly they are. Really would like something doing about this.

First off you get a lot of glove for your money. Well crafted tough looking outer shell with a removable liner. At first I found the gloves just a bit tight ( I did buy off the CG sizing guide) but persisted wearing them and gradually they have much more comfortable as the fill in the liners has bedded.

The liners on their own make a nice glove for driving in with grippy dots on the palm and index finger. When it is extremely cold I use the outer glove with an electrically heated liner. I have arthritis in my hands so keeping them warm is essential.
