20 Best Ski Goggles With Camera (2023 Updated)

The goggles themselves are great quality and fit well. Anti-fog works well too. They will fog up if you put your goggles over your face cover in very cold temperature, but that is expected as the air you are breathing out stays inside the goggles.

The reason I am only giving it 4 stars is due to the inaccurate information on the Altitude Sports product page. The page says that the lens colour is grey and the light transmission is 10%. The lens colour information is obviously wrong as the goggles have persimmon lenses.

The light transmission information is also very inaccurate. The label on the goggles is S1 which indicates light transmission of 43% to 80%, so if you are looking for goggles with low light transmission, these ones are NOT for you.

They are OK for cloudy days or the occasionally sunny day, but if you are going to be skiing on consecutive sunny days, it is best to get darker lenses. Altitude Sports should change the inaccurate product information.

I like them just spend 1100 miles in 6 days clear vision with these goggles. I ride a lot on my motorcycles by the Gulf in Florida. they cut back on glare off the water. Guys joked about them then they looked and where surprised.

a Smaller styles with same product would be cool you might get some new sales. What I liked best no air around the eyes which with bugs pollen is fantastic.

Oakley classified this goggle as XM meaning medium size fit. This is overly generous description. Frame will not accommodate wearing glasses , interior space is small. Should not be classified as OTG , frame and lens is best suited for small face or youngsters.

Better to consider the XL model for average size human head. Yellow lens is really night vision or slightly overcast conditions. Dark grey is plenty dark. Still Oakley quality.

i picked these up on sale last year and if you can get them for less than a hundred. grab them. i wanted a pink lense for low light days and they were amazing. it was snowing and they didn’t fog up and i was able to pick out bumps and other features a few turns in front of me without any issues.

while i prefer the black iridium for snowbird days, they were still pretty good in direct sunlight as in the picture. they are comfortable and i do prefer the medium especially if you’re not wearing a helmet.

i have an xl which for when i wear my helmet tho. i really wasn’t too much into the retro look, but you can make it work. it’s also not much more expensive than buying a lense to swap out and you now have backup.

you won’t be disappointed.

These google have sizes, however this description simply says that it fits an adult. And you need to dig down into the product information to see that. The “adult fit” google turned out to be extra large googles that I was planning on giving as a gift for a normal size woman.

Maybe they just put whatever size they have on hand in the box since the website doesn’t let you select a size. Now I have to run around all over town at the last minute looking for the right size. Change your website to say LARGE, EXTRA LARGE, and MEDIUM.

First off awesome photo-chromatic lense. Works perfect in anything but night. Hoogles themselfs are comfortable and the fit is nice but it doesnt fit has nice around the nose vs the oakley mayhem they are replacing.

Small adjustment and they still seal well in dust.

I bought these a couple months ago i believe and they are truly awesome, no fogging and venting keeps sweat to a minimal. I also bought the chrome mirrored with amber tint but it doesnt have much of a “mirror” but other than that they are the best goggles ive owned.

I use the ckx Tx228 helmet and the seal is just. and i mean just perfect. Could only imagine if i used a 509 helmet.

I have always had problems with regardless icing up on the inside when I sweat a lot. I got a chance to use them in really snowy conditions and they work fantastic other than the fact you always have to wipe the snow off the outside while riding.

I guess nobody’s come up with a windshield wiper for goggles lol.

These new Oakley goggles are my favorite goggles! Finally, a quality pair of goggles that fit my adult smaller face size. These have a super clear warm tone lens that I like. My previous goggles all looked too giant on me.

The strap has a grippy inside so it stays secure on the helmet. I have had no fog issues at all. Thanks Oakley for making a perfect google for me. Thankyou EVO for being a Oakley dealer and having such a simple website to order from.

I am SO thankful for Oakley’s xs sizes. I have a small face, but my head really isn’t small – these fit perfectly. The low-bridge type fit really helps with my smaller facial structure + the peripheral in these is still incredible.

Just skied with the new goggles for the first time yesterday. It was snowing! Visibility was good until the last chair lift ride when snow began to melt or stick to the lens. The visibility was great and the fit was good.

I have a small face, so i chose the medium size which worked well. Now I just have to order a lens for full sun (which we rarely get) and figure out how to change lenses.

Comfortable, good visibility, antifogging seemed to work well. I was really surprised after a few days of use how many scratches there were on the lenses. I had my last pair for 10 years, and they look about the same now.

Perhaps its softer plastic, or maybe the reflective coating makes any imperfection stand out more. The strap also doesn’t seem long enough to fit around a standard helmet. I had to expand it completely, so the two plastic strap adjusters are overlapping, which made pulling the helmet clip down over the strap an effort.

If these were less expensive, I wouldn’t be so particular, but they were expensive. It also came with a lower opacity replacement lens, but no information on how to switch them out.

I absolutely love Smith products and was very excited to pair these goggles with my Smith helmet for a “Smith system” The goggles come with 2 pairs of lenses and everything looks great, really sharp and performed well during my first day on the slopes.

The issue is the lenses scratch extremely easily when cleaned as directed with the bag they come in, after wiping each carefully they are basically rendered useless. I may have got a lemon? But the results are very disappointing considering the investment I made, I was ready to rock these for my normal 5 year cycle.

I am back to my Oakleys, had them for 5 years and barely a scratch with constant cleaning both at home and slope side. Backcountry took care of the return so I am happy on that end, excellent customer service.

I am 15+ years Smith’s user (most recent I/Os), and I think I am becoming a huge Oakley fan. The final deciding factor for me was fit, since I think they are very comparable bands. I wanted better peripheral vision goggles and all larger Smith’s left a gap at my nose (tried even Asian fit, and I am not Asian).

The Oakley’s fit like a glove, and have an amazing field of view. I am one of those folks that don’t like changing lenses often, so I had 25 VLT lenses on my old pair, and barely changed them, so I had a bit of a concern with the rating of 15 VLT on the Oakley Iridium lens.

I was pleasantly surprised by the wide range of conditions they work well on, which was pretty comparable to my old lens, sun, overcast, afternoon overcast/flat light, up to light snow. I did get the Prizm Rose lens just in case, and the only time I had to use them was on a heavy snowy day (inch or so per hour).

Those are great lenses as well, for very large ranges, but you lose the wow factor of the iridium :-). Changing lense is not as easy as some other brands, but after a little practice it’s not that bad, but you will need a dry place if you don’t want to get prints all over your lens.

Prizm technology is great and really improves visibility and definition in flat light, and I can report no issues with fogging (I use them with a Smith helmet, which works really well with the Flight decks L).

Overall great goggles.

I was so excited to get my new googles. I wore them the day after getting them. I noticed that once I was on the top of mountain, ready to ski, my googleds fogged up almost immediately. I thought it would go away, but only got worse as the day progressed.

My fogged up goggles made it nearly impossible To see so I cut my day short. The next day I wore my goggles and the exact same thing happen, I was almost blind due to the intensity of the fogged lens.

I did call Oakley customer Service yesterday and was informed I would receive a. Brand New pair in the mail. I’m hopeful that this pair will work out better.

I like the thick foam and they fit my face well. Usually I would buy Asian fit goggles but Oakley’s regular goggles fit very similar which provide greater selections. I have always have fogging issue with all my goggles.

I think this coming season I will try to take them out and leave them air dry completely to see if that helps. The Prizm lenses are great, my go to lenses for all condition are Sapphire Iridium.

Exchanged for the XL size due to fitting issue. Replacement for a set of Briko goggles. Similar VLT rose colored lenses. Visibility is of similar quality regarding contrast and detail. Peripheral vision of the Oakley’s is better.

Plenty of snow, but the local area has shut down for the season. The XLs arrived after season closing. No chance to give them a real test under a variety of poor light conditions. For now 3 Stars. 4 stars if they provide, which they should similar performance to the Briko.

5 star if they last more than a couple seasons of use. Regarding fitting. The XL fit my flatter, high cheekbone face. The XMs had too tight a curvature resulting in uneven contact. Would still work, but for the price of these goggles expecting a very good fit.

Glad that Oakley provide that option.

Best goggles I have owned to date. Wasn’t sure how the colour tint would work but it is awesome.

No Fog Mowing goggles!!!!

These goggles are fantastic. They’ve worked well for blue bird days, overcast and even getting into some boarding at night. They look amazing to top it off, stock photos do them no justice. I’ve read a few reviews that complain of fogging issues but in my experience that isn’t the case.

I cant even make them fog. If you read the instructions they basically say when they’re on your face keep them on. If you put them on your head the moisture from snow and sweat will cause them to fog.

I plan to buy a pair for my wife also and would absolutely recommend them to others.

Only lenses on the market that are both polarized and photochromic. The rose ones I got are not as ideal as the gray, but good enough. Polarization isn’t as strong as fixed-density lenses, like their dark gray with 10% vlt, but still good enough.

The rail lock change system works very well (not perfectly easy but super-easy to remove and not hard to insert). Large lens profile gives very good field of view. It’s not as great for looking low, but that might be how it fits my face.

Minimal to no fogging so far. I tried the Lookout first which was always fogging from both breath and precip working its way down from the top. Despite being discontinued, Zeal still has some lens options available for the Hatchet.

The clear one worked great for night riding – much better than the included low-light lens which has a lot of ghosting and basically poor optics. Between the dark grey for bright days, the automatic polarized, and the clear, one’s good to go.

The automatic darkening (photo chromatic) and polarized lens on these is absolutely a game changer for cutting glare off snow and adapting to varying conditions. From what I’ve researched these may be the only goggles to have both features.

I ordered the Automatic + RB. I was a little disappointed to find this lens has absolutely zero mirror effect on the outside (so is just a rose colour lens with excellent optics). The bonus sky blue lens is a nice touch, it’s very very light so I would think only for the most dim/overcast days.

Fit is good (as expected for a “XL” model they fit well on a large face, similar to an Oakley XL which I also have). Lens change mechanism takes little getting used to but appears very easy. Can’t wait to get to try these in a variety of conditions once ski seasons starts up again.

These goggles are something special, the fit, lens and peripheral vision are all top notch. I was able to try out the Automatic+ Lens which is a Photochromic lens that changes tint based on the conditions.

The great part about this is you won’t need to change your lens ever! They did work, going from some of the shady spots of the mtn to the sunnier ones, I never has to strain my eyes nor did they get fatigued.

The Observation Deck Technology creates a huge field of view and I think also helps the goggles look great. They sit very close to your face and are tilted down, what this brings you is less goggle frame/foam that you see and more mountain instead.

Can’t recommend these enough, great option for anyone anywhere!.

used them twice so far and really enjoying. they are very big, large enough to wear over glasses i suppose, the lens is not making my eyes ache as other goggles i’ve used in the past. that makes me happy =).

Haven’t used them yet but seem cool. Pretty bug eyed compared to my previous pair but I guess that’s where the style is going. Stick out away from my face quite far but comfortable.

Fit perfect with glasses and good look but no extra lenses to change if needed

I used my Axis ski goggles today at Crystal and was amazed at its clarity and wide vision. On a rainy/snowy day the visibility at the mountain was soupy with lots of flat light, The Axis lenses were able to identify the undulations and dog heads and lizard bodies; I was able to carve nicely and stay out of trouble.

The silicone strips prevented my goggles from slipping on my helmet and the straps stayed tight all day. Although rain droplets generally cause a slight distortion on lenses, I did not have a vision problem.

The frame fits nicely around my eye sockets and rest easily on my Norwegian nose. I have other brand named googles, but these gems were perfect for today’s’ conditions. Russ Bellevue.

Only a couple days on them so far, the lens tiny adjusts seamlessly from low light to bright days, but are still a bit dark for the last runs after sunset if there is no resort lighting. Still need a clear lens for night skiing.

I often pop the lenses forward accidentally when moving my goggles as the natural place to grab them with thick gloves is right where the lens tabs are. For the life of me I CANNOT get the lenses to snap back in place with the goggles on my face, I have to take them off basically every time.

It’s like the soft foam compresses and there isn’t enough counter pressure to snap into place. Pinching through the frame works but you can’t see the tiny tabs you must pinch while they’re on your face, and it feels impossible with thick gloves.

The features that actually hold the lens closed are also tiny and I do not expect them to last very long, I already feel like they are wearing down. If those features won’t grab in the future, the lenses will be flopping around unless you tape them on, but hopefully Julbo’s warranty would kick in.

Compared to my old cheap Smith goggles (like 5 years old and way cheaper), these feel less comfortable and the foam on my nose feels like it blocks more of my downward vision. I love my Julbo photochronic glacier glasses (wear them literally all day in all lighting conditions while mountaineering) so I’m glad to have similar quality lenses when I ski or board but the frame and venting mechanism leave room for improvement.

Hopefully I can figure out the quirks of using them but so far it’s been frustrating. I might try the Smith photochromic lenses if these don’t work out, but I heard those lenses are inferior and scratch super easy.

This is Julbo’s movable model with the lens on plastic arms that snap out from one to several millimeters to create airflow around the lens, or click down to seal. Designed for people that wear glasses while skiing.

In three days of downhill resort skiing I left the lens slightly out at all times and had zero fogging, often a problem with glasses inside a snow goggle. This will also probably ventilate well on the uphill while backcountry skiing.

The google appears a little fragile with the plastic pieces extended out, but had no problem at all during normal use. Can’t vouch for what would happen in a collision with a branch. Have not tried it yet in a dumping powder storm, but I suspect leaving the lens cracked open a small amount would not be a problem.

Quite satisfied with it.

I’m not sure I understand some of other reviews here. If you don’t want removable pieces, don’t order a goggle with removable pieces. Get a normal goggle, of which Julbo has many. As far as I can tell, these are essentially the Cyrius plus the removable vents.

That said, if you have just normal goggles, good luck wearing them while going uphill without fogging. That’s the whole point of the Quickshift. By taking the pieces out, you open huge ventilation holes which should help with fogging.

In my limited testing, it seems to work pretty well. I’ll update once I have some more real world experience to share. And yeah, you have to remember to close the vents before going downhill. No surprise there.

For those that tour, there’s usually some sort of eyewear aspect to the top transition, typically switching from glasses (since you can’t wear normal goggles on the up) to goggles. This is just a different type of transition.

FWIW, the pieces do seem secure while in, so I don’t have much concern about them accidentally coming out (either on my face or in my pack) and getting lost. I was also able to take them out and put them in while wearing the goggle, but that was with bare hands and a mirror.

While I’m sure you could take them out, it would likely be hard to put them back in the field without taking the goggles off. Finally, these have the Julbo photochromic lenses that are so beloved. I honestly can’t recommend them enough.

The pair of Julbo photochromics that I’m replacing has been my single set of goggles for all conditions for the last 6 seasons. I just chuckle at people that carry extra lenses or worry about the right lens for the condition.

Go the photochromic route and stop worrying about lenses entirely. While others are likely catching up, I do believe that Julbo has the best photochromics out there given that they’ve been doing it for decades at this point.

Also, I do think that 1-3 is the sweet spot for photochromics. While you might wish the lens was slightly darker when first stepping out into bright sunlight, the human visual system is pretty amazing and will quickly adjust to where you’re comfortable.

And in exchange, you get great low/flat light performance. 2-4s will be better for bright sunny days but they will leave you wishing they got lighter when the clouds roll in.

Very good field of view, clarity, and protection for sunny / mostly sunny days but wow are they delicate. These are not lenses you can carelessly leave on your helmet when you take it off at the table for lunch.

They pick up dings and scratches way too easily. I haven’t even done that – they’re either on my head or in their protective baggy at all times – and mine still have some mystery deep marks in them that started at day one.

Maybe that’s just how all lenses are and the mirror finish simply makes it show up more, but it’s very pronounced. A bit too dark for cloudy / snowy days but that’s not a slam on the goggles, just a heads up.

They’re made for bright conditions. Best non-fogging goggles I’ve every had. Have yet to have a single issue in any conditions, even when wearing a facemask. Not the best value at MSRP – I’d choose interchangeable lenses at that price.

But for what I paid I’d still recommend them despite the easy scratches.

I love the fit and finish of these goggles. They integrate well with my Smith Vantage helmet. Changing lenses is really easy. That being said, it’s good they are because the very first outing in the backcountry I got a few snow crystals on the inside of the lens.

I very carefully used the microfiber cloth to clean it and scratched the lens squarely in my field of view. I have never known goggles to be that weak to not even be able to clean them without leaving scratches.

This is a very disappointing criticism to have to make. I find it outrageous that for nearly $300 the product is this fragile. And at over $100 per lens I’m sure Smith is making money hand over fist on these.

I can recommend these to those who don’t mind dropping a lot of money not just once, but over and over, or to those who don’t plan to transition in anything but clear conditions. I plan to scour the internet for strategies on cleaning these without ruining them.

I saw these online and absolutely loved them. They came in and the lenses were perfectly clear and really enhanced my vision. My first time using them was on a perfect day with clear skies and the goggles worked lovely.

The second day was very cold and snowy and these goggles fogged up so easily, I was very disappointed. The goggles fogged up and actually froze, leaving me to wander into the bathroom at the resort to use the hand dryers to dry them.

They’re also very easily scratched as I took very good care of them only to realize after the first few uses they were already scratched in multiple places. I really wanted to love these but for the price I was very disappointed with the fogging and easy scratching.

Under perfect conditions these goggles work great but ultimately I want goggles this pricey to work in the snowy conditions in which they’re advertised. I’d recommend Oakley flight decks or Anon WM3’s instead.

I wear this goggle on all sorts of motorcycles: dirt bikes, Harley sportsters, harley dynas, Harley cruisers, and even a Yamaha FZ07. These are fantastic goggles. I bought a second pair/style because I love my first pair so much.

For the money, like $40 something bucks, this is an awesome goggle for most any motorcycle use. They look cool. My only knock on them is that the frames could be a little bigger but I also have a very large head, so it’s prob not an issue for someone with a smaller head.

Overall excellent goggle for the money.

I wear mostly Spy and Smith goggles and have throughout the time I’ve been riding. I wear glasses a lot of the time under my goggles and never have an issue, but these seem to have a different liner or pad around the eyes that digs my specs into my nose.

I have backup Spy and Smith goggles that don’t do this, but I wanted some American flag googles and thought that these looked a lot like previous Spy models shape wise. Even without the glasses, these seem to push into my face.

The adjustment doesn’t help. Just makes them loose.

These goggles are gorgeous. The lens is beautiful and the band is very comfortable while being worn. There’s a silicone track on the band that keeps the goggles in place even when I’m thrashing about in the snow.

I really like the convex shape of the lens, I feel like I can see a lot more than when wearing other plain goggles. I usually night board and I can still see pretty well at night when the lights are on.

The visibility is wonderful during the day. I also love the extendable lens feature! It’s very easy to use, but it does take some finagling when wearing big, bulky gloves. The goggles also come in a nice little carrying bag.

Here’s the downside. I do have some issues with fogging, but popping the lens out helps somewhat. The fogging might be due to wearing a face covering while I’m snowboarding, I’m not too sure yet so I’ll update later on.

Overall, these are amazing goggles! They are pretty expensive, but you get what you pay for.

Photochromic lenses 1-3 work really well. In covered weather they offer a very noticeable contrast that allows you to see the reliefs better. The option to remove the lens is also a good solution for those of us who practice mountain skiing.

At the moment, I am delighted with these masks.

Am taking it to the Alaska Range (Denali) next month. So far so good! The anti-fogging features are a big draw as well as the fit for wearing over progressive glasses if required. Slick look and comfortable.

These items are new purchases ahead of my new season so not experienced them on the slopes yet. But my initial impressions are very good. Fit and quality of the products are very good.
