20 Best Ski Gloves On Amazon (2023 Updated)

I bought this about a month ago before going on a skiing trip. The sizing chart they offer is way off – it suggested I was on the upper side of a small, so I ordered a medium, and that was a good bit too snug.

I do not have small hands. It’s possible I mis-measured, but it seems like the sizing chart is just inaccurate. The little decorative webbing also seems to come off pretty easily. However other than that, and once I got the right size of glove (a large for me), I only had good things to say.

Over many whole days of skiing the gloves kept my hands warm, but remained very breathable. They protect very well against water and wind as well. I was a little hesitant to buy some expensive gloves, but these are well worth the price.

I got a size small in volcano. These gloves will be great for my walks when it gets very cold outside soon. They are so warm it’s unreal. They are a little tight but I believe that is by design and not uncomfortable.

There are straps to tighten and loosen the wrists. Where your fingers go is where it’s tight too, but likely by design to keep your fingers as warm as possible.

Purchased the Spyder Overweb Gore Tex Ski Glove for my trip to Aspen Snowmass. The first two days of skiing the temperature was below zero to start the day and only reached the low teens by afternoon.

The Spyder gloves kept me warm and dry considering the extreme conditions. I especially like the long gauntlet which can be easily pulled up over the jacket cuff for extra warmth and protection from the cold.

Keep in mind I’m very partial to gauntlet gloves, not a mitten person. I got these gloves and thought they were perfect. I love the color, they have goretex, they have primaloft, you can touch your phone to turn down phone calls/alarms on the mountain without taking them off- what more could you need? I also appreciate the clip for keeping them connected so they don’t get separated in my pack.

The loop at the bottom of them make them so so easy to pull up over your jacket cuff, ultimate necessary gauntlet feature. Unfortunately for me, my hands are too small. I had a good inch of space at the end of my fingers and would probably struggle to grab anything.

I ordered the smalls but sent them back without trying them at a resort. My hand from start of palm to tip of middle finger is 6. 5inches, and the circumference around my palm is 7inches. I followed the mountain headwear size chart for women’s glove, but it just was a little bit too big for me.

I would totally buy them in XS if it were an option, but it’s not so I went with Burtons goretex gloves in a women’s small and scored a deal (I recommend getting them on sale or with a coupon).

For reference, I walk in NYC in the am and my walk is just about one hour. On the coldest days, my finger tips start getting cold at the 45 min mark. That is great compared to other gloves i have tried.

The navy is a beautiful color, great features like the big loop to help pull up the gloves and the tethers that allow you to take off the gloves and let them hang by your side. You dont have to use them, but its a great feature.

I hate snow and cold, but i think if i did ski or snowboard, these gloves would be exceptional. good protection, and long up the sleeves to keep the snow out and tuck under the wrists of a coat. I think its thickness makes movement limited, but its an acceptable trade off.

If you want more flexibility, you will end up with gloves that will be colder. If you want warmer, you will need to go to similar high performance mittens or heated gloves.

I bought these gloves at the height of winter and I have not looked back. They are extremely warm and keep your hands dry in every condition. They especially shined when it came to winter sports because any contact with the snow would previously give me wet, cold hands.

There is no such thing with these with the combination of GoreTex and with the cuffs going up so high on my arm and being adjustable, wet hands and arms are a thing of the past. There are a number of handy features as well with finger holds on the outside of ring fingers make the gloves easy to remove even while gloved.

The retention cuffs do their job well. I would recommend these for someone looking for a nice pair of gloves that wants to keep their hands warm and dry. They outperform everything else at their price point.

I purchased several pairs of Gore-Tex gloves from different brands to try for overall fit and features. Descriptions and (especially) reviews really help but it’s impossible to validate fit or feel without trying on.

I ordered large, and I’d say the outer gloves are true to that size. The inner gloves however aren’t really a sized match to the outer glove – quite small, tight, and difficult to even put on (so I am not using them).

I used the gloves for the first time last week to clear snow from my home, which included shoveling, snow-blowing, and driving a small garden tractor with plow which took several hours. This may not be the gloves’ designed purpose, but that’s what I use them for.

(I’ve never been able to find work gloves that are warm and actually useable in any practical sense. ) I was very pleased with them from the waterproofing aspect. At no time did any water penetrate the gloves, which probably enabled me to work a longer stint than otherwise.

Not too long after beginning work the last joint of my fingers began to feel cold and never really warmed up – in fairness the outside temperature was in the single digits. Other than that, these Burton Men’s Deluxe GTX Glove these gloves did mostly keep my hands and fingers warm.

I’m sure the fact that these gloves kept my hands totally dry is the reason my fingers and hands remained fairly comfortable. I’m no glove expert, but I suspect that any 5 finger glove (not mitten) that would keep fingertips warm would be too bulky to hold or manipulate a tool or handle.

Overall, I really like these gloves. They’re well constructed, and while clearly not as tough as true work gloves, the materials are not delicate or designed solely for appearance. Another thing I really liked was not just that they fit, but how they fit – from both the inside and outside if that makes any sense to you.

In comparison, a couple of other brands seemed to be very puffy/spongey inside the glove, I felt that each finger was not so much insulated as sliding into a “tube” of foam or other material that felt very unnatural to me.

It’s possible these would have been even warmer, but I’d never have been able to grip a tool (or ski pole!). So, after too much information, I’d like to give these Burton gloves a thumbs up. I’d buy them again.

I love the small countertop size of this can, and the matte black looks terrific. Definitely worth the few extra bucks. It’s great for dry items in the bathroom. I was worried about some comments mentioning their frustration with removing the lid.

I’m glad this did not deter me from buying it. When it arrived, that was one of the first things I tested. All I can say is I do not know what’s going on with those experiences, but I had zero difficulties or frustration.

Either they got a faulty can, exaggerate, or I’m just that strong! It’s probably the latter. The only bummer was the penny-sized dent on the side of the can. The box it arrived in was pristine, leading me to believe the dent was there before shipping out from simplehuman.

so that’s some disappointing quality control. If I reached out to customer support, they would probably have replaced it, but then the hassle and time of boxing, shipping it back, blah, blah, blah. Where I have it positioned on my counter, I just turn the dent to face the wall so at least I don’t have to see it staring at me.

It works for me.

There are warmer mittens on the market. At the same time I am very happy that I have found these, it took several years for me to find the right mittens and they are Burton Deluxe GORE-TEX. My hands are always cold and I always wear warmer gloves or mittens than other people around.

But the problem with warmer mittens is that my hands get sweaty, gloves get wet and hands get cold. And these ones turned out to be perfect! I wear them (for skiing in the East) between 0 and 20F without liner gloves and feel great, and with the included liner gloves below 0F.

The liner gloves are handy for taking phone pictures even at -15F (I didn’t have a chance to use them at even colder temperatures). For temperatures above 20F the this mittens are overkill. Did I mention that the price is VERY attractive? Recommended!.

I bought these to replace an old pair of gloves that weren’t keeping my fingers warm while skiing in the frigid New England weather. These keep my fingers nice and toasty. They were almost too warm while waiting in the lift line on a sunny day.

I also love the wrist cuffs. Very convenient to take gloves on and off without dropping them or having to hold on to them.

as soon as you take the mittens out of the box you can tell they are well built. I love the pocket on top which i will use to store my keys. it even comes with elastic straps that strap to your wrist so they never fall off.

something that my previous mittens don’t have. with insulation and gortext i have full confidence these bad boys will live up to expectation this winter.

The glove is good quality, and its nice the wrist extends so far down. The problem is the size wasn’t clear. I ordered XL for my 12yr old, but it looks like it would fit my eight-year-old instead. The sizing chart was no help.

Bought these for our son to use at school. Good quality and true fit. Look just like the picture. I would order this product again

Bought these for my 8yr old granddaughter. The fit was perfect for her small hands. She had to remove them when her hands became too warm.

I bought these for my wife along with a few different pairs of mittens to try out for the coldest ski/snowboard days. These easily have the most features, are very warm, and have the same/similar use as her standard Burton Gore-Tex Mitts.

These are nicer in just about every way than the other options I provided her, but she wasn’t a fan of the difference in feel with the bulk of insulation at the back of the hand (which is meant to provide low bulk in the palm for greater dexterity).

These also fit tighter than her standard Gore-Tex Mitts in the same size (Medium). Personally, I would have chosen these mittens due to the nicer leather palm, touchscreen interface, hand-warmer/vent pocket, and the adjustable wrist tether, not to mention the nicer color.

I’d be interested to see how the suede wipe on the thumb fares versus the typical/older type of material used that deteriorates over a few seasons. She instead chose the Gordini Haven Mitt, which I have reviewed separately, and could possibly be warmer, but lack some of the features of these mitts.

For comparison purposes, the length was similar to the Gordini Haven Large, but back of hand fit was more like the Gordini Haven Medium. Also, the fit is slightly longer than the Dakine Leather Sequoia.

These gloves were given to me as a present, they were advertised as ” the warmest gloves”. I ski in California, so it’s not as cold as other areas. The day was 20 degrees, and my hands were warm for only the first two runs.

My fingers were very cold, and as the gloves were tight on my hands, I wasn’t able to use my glove liners. These gloves will be fine for spring days, but I’m disappointed and will have to go back to my old torn gloves for the cold days.

great fit and generally a good product! sadly it doesn’t match the yellow of my jacket since is way lighter than the picture4s described at the internet but gets close enough to look great! i do like em and the velcros seems durable! defenitely a great product for the price.

I purchased these gloves as a gift so I cannot speak from knowledge of using them however when they were delivered i tried them on and OOOOOOOOO so soft inside, comfy and beautiful dark black. the palms have a spyder web design on them and i was surprised that the web design was actually of a grip hold type surface.

Got these at end of season so not a great chance to fully try them out – if you are looking for something between light glove and heavier ski glove, these look perfect for walking, hiking etc

Quality is good, i wear large but runs little big especially the length of my fingers, i ordered the ebony color the spyder logo is gray not black as described

I’ve been using this during winter mountain biking and I find the thickness works well for both the index and thumb to change gears and put one finger on the brake. I’ve taken these in -10C and have worked well so far.

Other reviewers mentioned the index can get a bit colder than other fingers, but it has been manageable so far. I’m usually a large in gloves. This fits as a slightly snug large which makes sense to keep the precision with the index and thumb.

I also find the thumb a bit better with the touch screen than the index finger. Not sure why. Overall, these are great!.

This is my third pair of Oakley Trigger Mittens. They are warm and versatile. While skiing, I literally wore my other ones out. These are not typical mittens where the fingers can touch each other. Each finger has it’s own warm sleeve inside the mitten.

The only con that I find is that the opening can be a little tight to get your hand in, but it is a minor point.

bought these to operate a touchscreen fitness tracker while xc skiing – the index fingertip surface certainly allows for that. i am normally a medium and bought large – the fit is snug (seriously, i can’t fit another liner in there) so just size one above what you normally have.

super warm nonetheless. there are finger holes for your third, fourth and fifth fingers if that matters.

These are awesome winter gloves at a great price! They are warm and waterproof. Perfect for outdoor fun.

Bought these for my Grandsons they loved them. They keep there hands warm!

This Burton Goretex gloves is the best pair of gloves you can get with a good balance between warmthness and comfortability. Recommend for everyone! My daughter also got another pair with the vents (no goretex).

She has been complaining they are quite stiff to move her fingers inside. I made a good choice of getting this new pair.

These gloves are awesome. My son is very picky and loved these as soon as he put them on. They are slightly big for him – he’s almost 6 and I bought xs – but he loves them so much he will be buying him a second pair.

Excellent for my 9 year old. Have stayed dry and warm! A lot of gloves are hard to put on being too tight at the wrist. These ones did not have this problem and still stayed on!

These are high quality gloves. The insulation feels like it’ll keep its shape and form for a long while, and the leather has a classy appearance and feels high quality. I’d say the gloves are mid-to-heavy weight, so good for active people in winter.

If you’re not moving your body much – say by riding up and down ski lifts in sub 20 degree weather, punctuated by 3 minutes of thrilling gravity-induced speed – you probably want mitts. For me these are great for cold weather hikes.

The dexterity conferred by gloves means I can give my daughter a clear thumbs up or hang loose sign, grip a cold one during a break, or handle the steering wheel in my car on cold mornings – good all-American stuff.

These gloves will last for years and years, and you’ll feel like you’ve got a high quality item with a great feel.

These guide finger gloves are overall pretty good. Only issue is that I found they weren’t as warm as I expected them to be. For context, I wasn’t able to test them while skiing yet, but I used them for a walk outside in -12 C and my index finger and thumb got pretty cold, while the other 3 fingers in the mitten portion stayed warm.

Although I was able to fit my index finger inside the mitten part with my other 3 fingers which helped, but obviously that’s kind of a disappointing hack. The other disappointment is that the gloves do not come with a wrist leash.

However they do have 2 fabric loops on the inside of the gauntlets which I used to tie my old wrist leashes to. For sizing- I was just at the high end of the small, so I ended up upsizing to a medium and it fits perfect.

So a small would have been too small.

I wanted the soloist finger glove – past season model initially, but I lost sight of this model which does not appear in the Black Diamonds search engine nor in the glove tab, nor the sale tab. I only managed to see it after buying the finger guide gloves from advertising that were targeted at me.

I’m disappointed because the finger guide model is heavier and a little tight on the wrist because there is no adjustment possible unlike the soloist finger glove past season model. it remains that this model is of very good quality.

I haven’t tried the soloist finger glove model past season but still for $100 less I think I would have enjoyed this last model better with the finger guide.

These mittens are good, albeit not very well suited to the PNW, where I snowboard. They’ve held up really well, considering the abuse I’ve put them through. They’re extraordinarily warm. Sometimes juuuust a bit to warm, sometimes causing my hands to get sweaty, which is also a result of them not being very breathable.

In wetter conditions you will get wet, after enough times falling and planting your hands in the snow. The removeable touchscreen-compatible liners are great, stopping your hands from getting too cold when you briefly remove the mittens to unzip your pockets or switch up your tunes.

You can also remove them and dry them out, as they absorb most of the sweat from your hands. Overall, I think they’re well suited to drier conditions, keep in mind these aren’t leather or Gore-Tex, so you will get wet eventually.

They are well made, they haven’t fallen apart yet, and I like the little touches like the soft backside of the thumb for wiping your nose, and the goggle wipe on the other thumb.

These check all the boxes for me from the description, but the performance lacked. The biggest flaw was that they are not waterproof. Being an east coast skier the weather changes often and I find myself in rain, these unfortunately did not withstand more then an hr before I found my hands getting damp even with the liners.

The second biggest flaw is the dexterity. The thumb feels tighter for some reason and is hard to even grip my poles. I sent back the first pair I got and sized up which helped a little but it was still stiff.

Other then those two gripes I love everything about them: Back pockets for warmers/pass, liners are awesome and touch screen capable (however the liners pile really quickly) Goggle Lens wiper, soft fabric for wiping nose, wrist straps etc are all great.

These seem like good quality but even the XXL is TIGHT on my thumbs! I think they’ll be cold as a result of the tight fit. That’s why I gave them only 2 stars. Haven’t worn them for XC skiing yet so can only review based on try on at home.

Very disappointing that the cut of the thumbs and the materials used makes them tight! I bought these specifically for a winter trip to Yellowstone NP where temps may drop to -30 F; tight mittens are not going to work well! If you’re going to make a XXL then the entire mitten needs to truly be large enough! NOT good design thinking! This is my first experience buying Dakine; NOT favorably impressed.

I was on the fence with these and the Black Diamond Mercury mittens. My indecision led me to buying both, and apples to apples, these are more fitting for my intended uses. What I like about this mitten: ? They’re warm AF.

Rated for -30, these will surely keep my mitts warm in some nasty conditions in the BWCA and elsewhere during the winter. ? They’re light. Not marketed as an ultralight glove, they almost could be. They feel like a down sleeping bag on my hands.

? They’re big and simple. Basically, these are an intense, technical chopper. Bigger and spacious, making it easy to layer with liners and other gloves, easy to slip on and off, and the gauntlet extends over bulky coats for extra warm and protection.

What I’m not fond of: ? They don’t have a wrist leash. What is that all about? ? The leather palm could extend further. I really like the BD Mercury mittens because of the build and material. The leather extends beyond the underside of the mitten, giving the gloves a seemingly more durable shell.

? The gauntlet is an unconfirmed annoyance. I haven’t put these through the wringer yet, so I don’t know ? but I do know this contradicts an earlier point ? but the gauntlet might be overkill. I’m not sure yet, but perhaps I’ll report back.

Certainly though, these aren’t your daily mitt. These are meant for expeditions, hard work, and cold, cold conditions. Overall, I’m psyched to have these. I trust Marmot gear. It works super hard, and I have no doubt about these either.

There is a huge disconnect between the suggested sizing based on hand measurements and the mitts size. Ordered L based on hand measurements that are close to the upper end of the size boundary. Received mitts that seem an XXL in size when compared to the other manufacturers.

Definitely would recommend going a size down. Rating 3 stars, but only because of the above. Unsure how well the mitts would perform their function.

I bought these during lockdown as Ive been walking loads and my hands have suffered. Not the warmest gloves but comfy and do the job except when the weather is sub zero. Worth the money.

Great product, but keep in mind that XL gloves are huge, needed L size for my dad who wears Size XL jackets from Maintain warehouse

I’ve been wearing these for a 7 days straight to try to break them in, and I’ve been following all the advice I’ve gotten from the company and the internet, but they are still far to stiff to do anything with.

Also, the seams around the base of my fingers are very tight despite my best efforts to loosen them, the seams inside the fingers poke out a great deal onto the inside, and bending my fingers at all, such as while driving, quickly becomes an intense forearm exercise.

Hands get cold even on above-freezing days in these, and it’s not a sizing issue, as the next size up was far too big. Very cheap, but I found them to not be worth the price. Perhaps I’m more of a mitten guy.

Just received Kinco 901 gloves. They appear to be well made. They are on the stiff side,but with some use, should break in at an acceptable rate. I don’t find that to be annoying or inconvenient. I guess it’s the man in me that appreciates the stiff toughness of something well made.

I usually wear a medium, but the medium in these gloves are too big especially long at the finger tips. The small is a little tight but overall, a better fit. I bought these gloves for a ski trip to Colorado, but I plan to use them as a cold weather work glove in the future.

Most ski gloves would not be that versatile or durable. I can’t vouch for the warmth of the gloves because they haven’t been exposed to frigid temps, but they feel warm and comfy indoors. I’m guessing they are as warm as most of the reviewers have stated.

Used this glove for a second time while skiing Breckenridge in late April and early May. Glove warmth is relative but since my hands get cold easy I would say its a good glove for late winter and spring skiing.

Used the Nikwax that it comes with and never really felt my hands get wet. Then again I never really touched the snow. For the money its a great value. I wouldnt spend $100 on Hestras. Great bang for the buck.

Very ruggedly made. Its a thick glove but over time Im sure itll get more supple. Overall I would recommend this glove for skiing.

These are the most comfortable and dextrous heated gloves I’ve been able to find. I can open zippers, grab items from my pocket, and use my phone without removing them. It takes some work, but I can even swap my extra set of batteries into these gloves without taking them off.

The limitation of these gloves is their insulation. They put out plenty of heat, but in cold, windy, or very wet weather, they’re too thin to retain it. To combat this, I’ve combined these gloves with the Outdoor Research Alti Mitts, and I’m extremely pleased with this system.

On most days I wear these as a liner under the Alti shells, but on very cold days I’ll wear these gloves + the Alti liner + the Alti shell. It’s admittedly a bit thick, but with that much insulation, even on a brutal -10 F east coast day, I can keep the gloves on low and stay comfortable.

The insulation is that good. I have compared this system directly to the Lucent heated mittens and Capstone heated gloves. The Heated Stormtracker + Alti Mitt combo provides far more insulation than either other option, and essentially becomes a dextrous liner that stays on when you pull your hand out of the insulated outer layer.

If you don’t care about dexterity, I recommend the Lucent mitten or Capstone glove, as they are both single-piece systems, and reasonably well insulated.

Honestly. I can’t remember when I got these. I think I’ve had them for about 5 or 6 years and they are just now starting to wear out. They are very warm, durable, and fit well. They came with a goggle wiper on the left thumb (for wiping off ice) and is super convenient.

If you’re going to be skiing in sub 10 degree weather I’d recommend putting on thicker liners but the ones that come with the mittens work great otherwise. (I normally ski in 15-30 degree Fahrenheit temperature and almost never use hand warmers) I’ve never had a problem using the liners with my smartphone either.

All around a very good glove and I’m getting them again hoping they are as good or better than the first time around.
