20 Best Sketcher Shoe For Walking (2023 Updated)

I bought a pair of these from Amazon a while back. I own some Sketchers stock because it seems like a good value to me, but it’s a plus if I also like the product so I wanted to try them out. They fit well and I like them overall, and they are cheaper than Rockports which I used to buy which do not seem to me to be superior.

Then the other day I saw a podiatrist about my feet. She checked them out and didn’t feel I needed custom inserts but recommended Walk-Hero inserts for my shoes. I brought in the Sketchers as well as a pair of Hokas which some friends recommended for foot problems.

The podiatrist said both shoes were fine for me. She indicated I would need to rip out the existing foam inserts in the Sketchers so I could put the Walk-Hero inserts in. They came out quite easily. I also have a pair of laceless Sketchers After Burns that I think are basically identical to the lace up ones.

Those were harder to yank the inserts out of- some of the foam stuck to the shoe and I had to kind of scrape it off with a knife. They should work OK, I haven’t tried them with the Walk-Heros yet since I’m waiting on a couple more pairs of inserts.

I am sold enough on these Sketchers I plan to buy another pair, but they appear to be out of stock both at Walmart and Amazon. (some sizes do seem to be available but not mine) It’s the Covid supply chain crisis I guess.

Once they are available I’ll probably buy a pair from Walmart. I prefer to buy from Walmart instead of Amazon when I can get the same thing at close to the same price. The Walk-Hero inserts I got at Amazon because Walmart does carry them but the price is quite a bit more.

Comfortable, but outside-heel strikers be warned. I’m somewhere between 195 to 205 for weight. After only walking in these shoes for exactly 4 miles a day at a rate of 4 miles per hour, 3 times per week for a total of 28 miles (8 days of walking), the outside corners of the soles at the heel were already worn away to the point where there was almost no tread remaining.

Within another two weeks of fast-paced walking, the soles at the heels of these shoes will be destroyed. I’m guessing that these are not meant for outside/pavement use/abuse. The last pair I had (same brand and style), it took me roughly 3 months to get to that point.

Based on my limited experience, I would suggest these shoes for low impact workouts indoors or for just casually walking around in all day. They are attractive and very comfortable, but they are just not holding up to the abuse from my walking routine.

As one would guess, I am currently in the market for some walking shoes with a more durable sole at the heel.

I bought the first pair of these sneakers for my husband several years ago and he loved them. so much so that I buy him a new pair every year. The support and comfort they provide has seen him through double shifts when he was continually on his feet.

Finding comfortable sneakers that he likes had always been a nearly impossible task since he has back and foot issues. That is no longer a problem. I get these in his normal size 10. 5 wide and he’s happy.

Give him anything other than the After Burn and it just doesn’t meet with his approval. He’s still got every pair I’ve given him and he still wears them all. The oldest pair has become his working around the house pair and the others are worn depending on color.

He says they’re all as comfortable today as they were the day he first got them Definitely pleased with my purchase.

I purchased these based on the reviews and needing washable shoes as the shoes I previously wore to work (King Gee Superlites in fabric) are no longer available. Ive got to say I am very disappointed in these Sketchers.

The comfort factor and the sole are no different than much cheaper versions of the same type of shoe Ive owned previously for casual wear. I bought a half size bigger as my feet swell standing up all day long but the uppers have stretched a lot after 6 weeks of wear so my feet slide forwards now, washing the shoes only helps for a day and the stretched uppers are back again.

They also make your feet sweat and the innersole becomes smelly in a few days. Imo if you want a great pair of work shoes that are totally non slip (I work in a greasy shop) for a fast paced environment that dont do all the above go with the King Gee superlites only available in leather now unless you can find a pair of the older fabric style in your size somewhere.

The KG’s are the best shoes I have EVER worn for working 8 hrs a day non stop without a break to sit down. These sketchers may be good for casual walking or standing for a couple of hours in a slow environment, but not for all day long working.

A solid sole instead of the broken up sole the sketchers have might improve them but I still would not buy them again. I am going back to the King Gees even though I dont really want leather ones simply because the comfort support and quality are there in bucket loads.

LOVED Skechers GoWalk shoe design and owned several pairs I eventually wore out! The newer designs in your slip-ons have been a HUGE disappointment, especially in FIT and top materials! The STRETCH-FIT sounded great, but it’s become my nemesis! It should always have a “Warning” label: BUY AT LEAST A HALF-SIZE SMALLER! I now own 2 nice pairs of GoWalk Joy – Sensational Day, in my normal size 8, that are too big & wide because of “Stretch-Fit”!! It’s tooo Stretchy to get a good Fit! If it fits at first, it’ll be HUGE too soon (& too late to return)! Mine have been slipping in the heel as well.

I can wear them around the house as loose slippers, which is a big waste of money for me! Also, that stretchy fabric shows every lump, bump, & toe joint just like a sock. Overall it’s just not as supportive a shoe as it used to be! And your other slip-ons I’ve tried in the last couple of years have had problems with fit and very inconsistent sizing that makes it much harder to order Skechers online, as many of us prefer! PLEASE FIX these issues — Skechers have been my favorites for years!!.

I bought a couple of pairs one or two years ago. My very troubled feet (arthritic and flat footed) love them. When it came time to get new ones, I had difficulty locating the same model. So I tried similar Skecher shoes, but, in all, I ended up returning 6 pairs as they did not measure up to this model.

Evidently, Skecher has moved on to a different Pillar technology in their more recent models. All of the returned shoes made me feel unstable as the soles were too soft and mushy. I’m glad see glad to have a new black pair of the GOwalk Smart Wise 124043.

Sure wish I had finally found these before they were sold out in Navy. PS- I have spent and wasted a lot of money on Orthotics and orthopedic shoes. By rights, this Skechers style feels 100 times better on my feet.

Please Skechers don’t stop making this model with this Comfort pillar technology. More colors please!.

I work in a plant, drive a forklift, have plantar faciitis, and wear custom orthotics. I have real problems finding a wear-all-the-time sneaker that removes all foot pain. I bought The Unity because a reviewer stated that few Sketchers sneakers had removable insoles (for those of us who need to use our custom orthotics, instead), but these did.

And I didn’t search any further THEN because I was in PAIN and needed it to end fast. However, I just asked the fine folks at Sketchers which of their OTHER sneakers have removable insoles. I was informed that ALL ARCH FIT SNEAKERS HAVE REMOVABLE INSOLES.

Yay! More options is always a good thing. Thus, if you have orthotics and you pick from among the Arch Fit sneakers, you should be able to switch them out, no problem. PF sufferers and runners/walkers understand they have to change out their trainers about every 3 to 4 months if they want to keep ahead of the pain.

But most of us have been able to squeeze 6 to 10 months out of many brands of sneakers, with not much more discomfort than we had from the start – until about the six month mark. THESE start NOTICEABLY breaking down by about month 4, so bear that in mind.

However, those first twinges of discomfort were probably more noticeable because, with The Unity, I’d felt no pain whatsoever up until that point. THAT puts The Unity firmly in the “win” column. These were perfect for my duck feet (narrow heels, toes so spread out you could slip in a few extra.

😒) so. YES, I love these and would order again. Tonight, though, I’m ordering TWO other arch Fit sneakers, just to see how different Arch Fit sneakers fit and feel, hoping for the best. I’ll wear the one I love most.

The other will stay in my locker at work, along with a pair of dry socks, and a hand towel. It’s winter here and I hate working with wet toes on a cold dock. It’s great when you have painful feet and the right shoe makes the pain stop.

For me, The Unity was the first right shoe in a long line of wrongs.

The GoWalk Joy slip on are really good for back problems. They are shock absorbing, and very lightweight, so that is a tremendous help for your back. Everyone is different. I have a medium size foot and these fit the way that I want them to.

I have several pair of these and they all seem to run about a half size big in length and that’s how I want them to fit. My feet over pronate (turn to the inside with every step) so the inside of the wall of the shoe rubs a hole in the material making the shoes unwearable after about 6 months.

It causes pain where it wears the material away. Other than the material could be a little stronger, these are great shoes. They wash well in the washing machine, hang by the tab on the heel to dry with clothes pins, and look new.

The GoWalk 5’s with the pillows in the sole were terrrible for my back. The GoWalk Joy is a solid sole and that’s perfect for shock absorption.

I’ve had foot problems for a while now, and I just had foot surgery (I had bunion surgery and a heel spur). On top of that, I work retail and I’m on my feet for 8+ hours a day, so I really needed the foot support, but I couldn’t find anything that really fit my needs for cushion and support.

Then one day, I came across these by accident and hands down the BEST COMFORTABLE SHOES. I have bought three pairs for myself to rotate them. I even bought the same type of shoe for my husband, but in the men’s version that they have available.

I really recommend these shoes for anyone who works on their feet all day like Rite Aid, CVS, Vons, WinCo, Walmart, Walgreens or really just any retail. OH! And nurses! I am not paid to say any of this; I really am just happy I found something that was truly helping me.

I am just trying to share my experience with everyone else. They are a little expensive and a little unorthodox-looking, but they truly are worth it. I never knew how important my feet and shoes were until I almost lost my will to not get up because of the pain in my feet.

Please try these shoes! They really help! P. S. My daughter helped me type this. She types faster than I can, and I had a lot to say as you can see lol. If I were to type this, this wouldn’t have been posted until 2023.

Have worn Skechers daily for work for past 5 years walking around 20,000 steps a day. Made then mistake of buying 2 pairs of this style. About half way thru day on 1st day of wearing them, really started bothering my feet, being to tight around pinky toe.

Thought it would stretch a bit because of material so made another mistake and wore another day to work and pain only got worse. I exchanged the 2nd pair for the wide width and it did no good, just still to narrow around toes.

Excellent trainers, looked better when I received them than in the photos! Great quality and price, can’t ask for more. From my experience I would recommend.

They are very good shoe but because they are a mesh type product if you are in wet weather they will get a little wet inside. Nice sunny days it can be highly recommend shoe. but just be careful if a little wetness is around.

I will also add if you’re familiar with Skechers you know they are generally light as can be comfortness is great overall would still recommend.

My focus has been to find a shoe that I could wear during the latter half of my pregnancy. While my feet aren’t swollen per se, they get swollen when I walk or wear shoes for a long period of time. I wanted a shoe that was supportive, breathable and will expand with my feet.

These shoes hit all of those marks. While they aren’t the “cutest” shoe, they certainly aren’t bad and can give a comfy chic vibe with the right athleisurewear. What I’m saying is, you can make them cute.

They remind me more of an athleisure version of Toms. I ordered the shoe in my normal size 10 and with my “growing” feet, they fit perfectly. I highly recommend this shoe if you have your shoe hunt is similar to mine.

Bought the taupe color, which is a nice neutral. Better than average arch support. Purchased in the same size as my other GOwalk shoes and this pair ran large. Not so large I had to return, but definitely big.

Could be a fluke. Could be I don’t have other GOwalk *Joy* shoes. It would be a perfect shoe if the insole came out for orthotics.

I had an older pair of this style and loved the comfort but hated the sole pattern because pebbles were always getting stuck. I bought this pair and I love them! The sole is different and doesn’t pick up as many rocks.

I have a high instep and had to buy up 1/2 a size and *still* wear thin socks. If I wear cotton socks, they would be right across the top of my foot and definitely not comfortable. The style is great for working from home and taking an occasional walk throughout the day.

I wear these for travel days too and they work great!.

I bought these shoes initially for going on walks with my dog. I have health issues and two replaced hips, so the slip on design was is perfect for me. I walk with my doh on unpaved paths throught the woods in our local park.

They provide terrific support and are outstanding for the unpaved paths. Great grip and cushioning for comfort on long walks. These shoes give me confidence to go on walks like this in my condition. I have recommended these to others with similar conditions.

They have all bought them and are super happy with them. These shoes are great quality, long lasting and are a terrific value for the price. I have bought frou pairs of these shoes since 2015, and they get daily use.

So far so good. I have several problems with my feet and legs along with arthritic fingers that were given me with my older age of 81. Shoestrings are a real problem to tie. Reason I started looking for Velcro strap tennis shoes.

Since I am not shopping for shoes with shoestrings anymore, you would do customers like me a real favor by grouping Velcro closure shoes by themselves. I spent way too much time trying to pan thru your pages of shoe offerings.

My next purchase could be a pair of dress shoes with Velcro straps. But I hope to be able to review them in a section of Velcro strap shoes only. Thank you.

I find these quite comfortable, but not as much as Skechers I bought years ago. Could be that my feet have changed, but whereas other pairs were incredibly comfy as soon as I put them on, these don’t feel as pliable or soft.

I’ve had to put some tape above my little toe where the material was rubbing, making it quite sore, so hopefully it will soften with wear. The sole will be good for outdoors and it’s a nice navy. Being in between, I bought a size down after reading reviews but would actually advise going up instead if you’re a half size due to length.

I love my Go Walk Sketches shoes they are extremely comfortable I have bought pairs over the last couple of years and I will be back. I wear my go walks every day working in childcare as we are on our feet all day.

Go walk support my feet perfectly for what I need my feet never feel sore and remaaain nice and cool.

I purchased a pair of these earlier this year (late spring/early summer) and when they arrived, I tried them on only to discover that they were slippery on the shiny laminate floors in our home. I felt a bit disappointed about that because I didn’t want to slip and fall, so I thought oh well, I’ll wear them outside.

So I put them in the closet and really just kind of forgot about them. In early October, we had an appointment to get the car inspected and we were planning on spending the time walking outside instead of sitting and waiting in the tire store.

Before we left home, I opened the closet, glanced down, and saw the pair of Unreals just sitting there, so I decided to wear them while we were out. Anyway, we walked the whole time (about an hour and a half) while the car was being inspected through parking lots and on sidewalks, and then after that, we went to the grocery store.

This was the first time I had really worn them and was amazed at how comfortable they were and so great for walking. And then the next surprise came when we got home. I walked through the front door, walked across the floor and realized they weren’t slippery! All that walking outside on the paved surfaces had dulled-down that “new shoe” slickness on the bottoms.

Since then, I wear these almost all the time, they are great for walking! I walk four miles every day at a minimum indoors, sometimes five or six, and also use a treadmill. I wear them with No Nonsense slipper socks if my feet feel cold.

These are great walking shoes. I have since ordered another pair. I really like the Arch Fit and will be buying more shoes in this style. So I hope this will be helpful to anyone else who has an issue with these being slippery – some walking outside should do the trick!.

I have a medium, almost narrow foot and I found these shoes to be quite narrow. My foot fits into them, but anyone with a somewhat wider foot or full medium would probably need to size up at least a half size.

Because the length is good and I can get my foot in (though not as comfortably with a small sock) I am keeping them. I agree that part of the issue is probably the amount of padding in the insole. I don’t plan to wear them much for a while as they were purchased more as a “back-up” shoe not to be a current one.

As I’ve seen the quality of various shoe brands fall over the years I figured I’d best buy a few from the brands I like while I can still find adequate quality (for example the Clarks brand has lost a great deal of quality over the years.

to the point that I can no longer feel confident buying them). I also picked this shoe because I hate shoes that have to be tied and this slip on fit the bill. For some odd reason shoe companies tend to stop making styles that are popular and put out something newer.

And not often better. Would that I had realized that over a decade ago and I would have bought more multiples of my favorite Clarks suede winter boot. I’ve ordered others similar from Clarks but have had to return as the quality of the suede has become very inferior and stiff.

So basically the key here is that this shoe does run a bit narrow and sizing up at least a half size would probably be a good idea. Good luck. I’m planning to stop ordering much from QVC in future as the problems with lower quality have become widespread and of course the cost of return shipping is high.

OK, so I thought I finally found the sneaker I have been searching for, after returning 4 pairs of Skechers. This taupe sneaker was a great light color, had a bit of a pretty shimmer to it, fit my size 8 feet perfectly, and I finally found an upper that didn’t hurt the tops of my feet from the tongue of the sneaker like other Skechers had.

Unfortunately, the bottoms have very little traction on my tile floors and that is where I walk, (as opposed to outdoors) as I am sick and don’t know exactly what time of day I will have the energy to walk.

So I would have had to return them anyway, BUT I could not believe, yet again, that this is the 4th time in the past year I was shipped someone else’s return. They should have been marked “as is” and I would not have purchased them.

How do I know it was someone else’s return? The packing inside of each sneaker was compromised, the left sneaker had 2 stains on it, and both sneakers had dirt or food or something in them, and also a bug came out of one of them! Really? This could be someone else’s 5 star sneaker but the 3 star review is mostly QVC’s fault.

QVC, please stop sending out returns as new merchandise; you are ruining your own reputation.

I am an Asst. Pastor and an Electrical Engineer by trade. I don’t wear them with my suit for church but in my business meetings in just a shirt and tie there is nothing else I wear. They are so comfortable.

The best by far from my perspective. My first experience with these shoes was when I took my fifteen year old son out looking for cleats for football. I wasn’t even looking for anything for myself and I spotted a pair of sketchers.

I decided to just try them on. Once I felt the comfort, I knew I couldn’t leave that store without buying them. That was my first pair and that’s when I begin to wear sneakers in my business meetings.

They are just so comfortable, I said forget looking proper, these sneakers are what my body needed and I stepped in my meeting in shirt and tie and SKETCHERS. That was 9 months ago and I think I have influenced all the other engineers.

I haven’t over come the pulpit yet but if the Lord says so, then I will be wearing them while I preach. Amen!!!!.

I wear these shoes daily, and ALL day. I suffer from 2 foot maladies involving the arch and ball joints. I have tried everything to help prevent flare ups, including very expensive custom insoles. Still a lot of pain.

Then last year I bought a pair of these (blue mess). I was amazed at the difference in the amount of flare ups. For the most part now I walk and exercise pain free. The first pair wore out fairly quickly but it was due to my constant use.

So of course I bought 2 more pairs. I also went to the wider width which is also helping my ailments ( at least that is the early signs). If you have foot problems, try these shoes.

I absolutely love these walking shoes. They are so lightweight, comfortable, and breathable. It feels like you you are walking on pillows. I bought the extra wide so my toes aren’t squished together.

I wear these when walking a few miles on the treadmill everyday. My previous walking shoes were too tight and caused black and blue toes and corns. I have had no issues with these walking shoes. However, if you are looking to be stylish, these shoes are not for you.

My wife calls them old man shoes:-) They are mainly for comfort and practicality.

When my favorite pair of Skechers sneakers finally bit the bullet (after walking two miles back and forth to work every day), I had to get a new pair. I have wide feet, and shoe-shopping is always a struggle for me.

My last pair of Skechers was, miraculously, not a wide but stretchy enough to fit. But, the problem was they were discontinued! After a lot of research, I chose these shoes because they were almost identical; same base, same inside, same style.

The material is the only thing that is different, and when they first arrived, the difference in material made them a tighter shoe. But, after stretching them out with socks and a blow dryer and breaking them in around the house, they fit perfectly! I hope these aren’t discontinued, too (or, at the very least, Skechers keeps making a shoe exactly in this style), because I’ve had trouble all my life finding the perfect walking shoe and these are IT.

I am a big walker. I have been wearing Skechers for approximately 2 years and have work through 3 pairs. I attribute this to the amount of miles I walk, not the sneakers. This pair has been more difficult to break in than my previous pairs.

Many blisters!! Also, the tongue slides to the side and cause discomfort a d i have to keep adjusting. I just bought another pair, hoping for better luck!!.

I’ve always loved Skechers products. I’ve been purchasing them for more than 10 years. I love the outlet in N. E. Philadelphia, PA. Shoes are very comfortable and love clothing line! I have a lot of back issues and the GoWalk Joy Upturns make it much easier for me to walk without worrying about falling down.

I recommend them to anyone with same problem as mine.

Love the look of the shoe, the shoe is very comfortable. I bought them to walk around NYC for four days, we walked about 8 miles a day and my feet felt wonderful. The only reason I am giving these a two star, is that the treads on the bottom of the shoes already look like I have been wearing them for a year.

Kind of feels like a waste of money. If the treads were better, I would buy one in every color.

I Asked for a mens EX-Large shoes but when I got them shoes lokked like boys shoes. Shoes did not fit at all. What I would of needed would of been a triple-E Large shos of thesame kind I had ordered.

Another words the size shoe I would need would be EEEXLarge. ONE OF YOUR CUSTOMERS.

I use these for everyday walking and I’m pleased with them. I ordered 2 pair ,1 gray pr. wide size , and 1navy blue pr. Medium width. So I returned for a Florsheim deck shoe in blue wide. I’m pleased with the product and the service.

This product has helped my friend to walk more safely with easy on and off. It also feels great on. Walking also reduces swelling so the product has also increased well being. Fantastic!!

The shoes are great, made extremely well & long lasting. I have been wearing these shoes for 20 years, for travel & casual wear, good support & comfort for standing many hours whilst cooking & baking.

The go walks have always been true to size, however this pair is too wide & made bigger than previously. I ordered them on line, sent an e mail 2 days ago about returning them and have not heard back.

I called the local store in the West Edmonton Mall – on line orders can no longer be returned & the size 5. 5 is not in store & no longer on line. I appreciate that times are tough now during the pandemic & would appreciate more helpful customer service to resolve this issue.

At my workplace we are supposed to wear all black shoes. Dress shoes are rarely good for standing 12 hours at a time, and they are rarely breathable. These sneakers are comfy and help keep me cool (my specific work area traps all the hot air), and they feel like squishy mats.

Good – definitely made for walking. Plenty of squish under the balls of my feet. Very breathable. The sole/bottom of the shoe is all the soft rubber, helping it feel comfy on the feet. Will buy again once they go (or at least sick with Skechers if they stop making it) Bad – Not a running or trail shoe (But I don’t use them that way so no problems there).

I had to buy 1/2 size larger than other brands.

The shoes were light and were the right size 9 ½ the only problem was the width. The shoes were made for people with Flintstone feet (wider at ball of foot). When I tie them, the tongue is almost nonexistent in width and lots of shoelace bow when tied.

I have other Skechers shoes, and have been wearing them for a long time. I just wanted you to know this shoe is too wide. I have never had this problem with your shoes before. I can use them when I mow the lawn.

I will keep purchasing Skechers. My last pair of Skechers before this pair was, Skechers Sport, with Slip Resistant printed on the shoe. Never had this problem with any shoes, even the Army. Thanks, Jim Mahan.

I have always loved the original “go walks”! Have been buying for several years. I was so looking forward to getting these. Unfortunately they are NOT like the original. In appearance yes, like the original.

In fit NO. I ordered my usual size 8, but these seem fully a size smaller!! I noticed this as soon as I took them out of the box. The material is very rigid with no give, and the toe box is pointed rather than the roomy cut they typically have always been.

I considered doing an exchange for a larger size, but the time span on an exchange or return has become typically so long that I don’t want to deal with it!! Very sorry to have to return and to pay the S&H on two pairs!!.

I love Sketchers shoes. I have another tie up pair I use for walking and general support because of a weak ankle, however they don’t work for wearing around the house. I bought sketchers Go Walk Joy and they are so so comfortable, feels like a cloud under my feet, I can wear them all day with no discomfort and when I remove, them my feet are not sore or tired feeling.

Absolutely love these shoes.

These are great shoes. I have them in many colors. Even my daughter got a pair. So comfortable, don’t have to break in. Put on and go. I would recommend these to anyone. Will keep on buying that’s how much I love them.

I love this shoe especially for summer. Didn’t think I would like the color but I really do. It goes with so many outfits. It’s comfy, true to size, easy on and off. I’ll wear them in the house in winter.

I even bought them in black and grey and love them also. Recommend!.
