20 Best Skateboard Wheels For Tricks (2023 Updated)

Fantastic wheels for cruddy streets and janky sidewalks. They’ll work on concrete too, and are pretty nice in wooden bowls. Big contact patches so don’t expect to do a lot of sliding around but they gobble up cracks and spit out little stones easily.

Definitely my go-to wheel when I don’t know what surfaces I’m going to encounter. These are a little bouncy for some tricks, but generally a pleasure to ride. And 55mm means not needing risers on your popsicle board.

These are good soft wheels, they are smooth on rough surfaces for cruising. They came fast (within a few days), and we’re a nice change to the generic 55mm wheels I was using. Do you want a smooth ride ? Do you want more grip on the rough terrain ? Are you looking to use an old skateboard for a cruiser ? These are for you !.

If you’re looking for cruiser wheels that still let you get some of those street tricks in, look no further. Nice and soft for that crusty old parking lot or rugged ditch spot. Sometimes they feel a little too soft, and grip when I want to slide, especially in a transition setting, but other than that they’re exactly what they are supposed to be.

Good price and is the real deal for the price. The shark wheels feel smooth and help with small rocks and go over cracks you normally can’t.

My son loves these wheels. I bought them for my long board but he was begging for them. So he mounted them yesterday and has been gone riding ever since.

I ordered the 4-pack and very happy I did! The buttons saved my ears from the surgical masks + goggles and when we moved to N95’s the caps have been saving my hair from the straps. They’re well made, fit well and the patterns are adorable.

I’ve had so many compliments and have turned so many of my co-workers onto Dr. Woof because of how cute and functional they are. Will definitely order more. The sizing is accurate. I got the standard size and it fits well but my hair bun is not covered (which I was aware of) – will try the larger size to see if I like my bun covered or not.

I have 54mm Bones V1 wheels on one setup & these 52mm Spitfire tablets on another. Both sets of wheels are great. The Spitfires feel slightly more planted as they have a 5mm wider footprint on each wheel (20mm Vs 15mm) but both sets of wheels powerslide about the same.

Neither wheel has shown any signs of flat-spotting but I mainly skate on smooth skatepark concrete. The Spitfires are noticeably smoother across coarser road surfaces, though. Locking in on a slide or grind with the tablets seems really good, too, but Im not pro skater so my tricks are pretty tame.

These are my go-to wheels, no flat spots, clean and minimal desing, large surface. All my homies are doing the same too.

Great wheels! Ive been skating the lock ins for while and they have been great but I like these a bit better because of the the skinnier shape. Other than that they lock in just as well. Spitfire cant be beat!.

Polyurethane is among the best in the world, consistently smooth high-quality long lasting and rarely flat spots. I have been riding Powell Peralta products since 1981 still owns several sets of Powell Peralta wheels and Im stoked to add these to a vintage board in my collection and yes I read them all.

Great wheels. My 9 year old son loves these wheels on his old school SC Jeff Kendall board with Indy 159’s. Since I gave him this board his confidence has continued to improve on the half pipe at Vans – Orange Block.

They give him extra grip on a very slippery skatelite surface. He also does better in the Combi bowl due to the extra speed and stability these provide.

Like riding on a fluffy carpet! Athough, a lot grippier than I was expecting. Difficult to powerslide

I love these wheels! So fast! So smooth! After you break them in they slide pretty decent as well. Lots of grip when you need it though. Also they basically roll through anything and over anything. Straight tank status.

I’ve just fitted a set of 75mm OJ Thunder Juice to my long board and they roll forever! They are very smooth to ride on and the rolling resistance is minimal, which makes the skateboard not only fast, plus these wheels roll much further than most other wheels.

For anyone who thinks Ricta Clouds & Bones Rough Riders are good (which they are), but need 75mm diameter for longboard street / downhill use, then the Thunder Juice wheels from OJ are THE ANSWER!!! Definitely well worth the money.

If you’re building or upgrading a skateboard, then OJ “Juice” Series (3 sizes) are an excellent choice for the street, even for low speed riding because they roll so well you don’t have to push as much.

As they handle pavement joins & road debris well, they are actually safer to ride on, so these a good wheels for beginners, despite the price. Even some of the Santa Cruz skateboards have OJ Thunder Juice wheels factory fitted, which makes those boards a great buy for an affordable quality skateboard.

Finally, always wear a helmet, knee/elbow pads, wrist guards & ride within your limits, and don’t stop searching for that perfect road!.

I prefer Ricta wheels for skatepark riding for having a light duro and still better recovered speed compared to Formula Four. No flat spots and fast acceleration. Round shape is so good for board feel.

These feel so good under your board. They slide when you need them too but grip very well even on skatepark grounds. I love Ricta Slims

These wheels are sick! Perfect size, width 🤙🏽

SIZE: The 52mm feels like the perfect balance, no wheelbite but large enough to get enough speed. They are pretty thin, which makes them feel lightfooted but they are so thin that my spacers did not fit inside them! HARDNESS: Hard enough to get a bit of slide (great for tricks), but barely soft enough to give a bit of comfort.

Using them with shock pads solves that problem for me. SPEED: These wheels are FAST. I could not imagine that wheels could make such a difference in speed. LOOKS: The color of the material is not as yellow as on the picture, which is a good thing to me.

The Spitfire-circle was not printed exactly in the center, which gives it a bit of a wobbly look when spinning. Turning the wheels inside out solved this for me.

Totally recommended for those who love to slide, and want a harder wheel that lasts a long time. The material is really high quality, they ride a lot smoother than other wheels of comparable hardness, and dirt/debris does not get embedded in the riding surface like on some other wheels.

They also do not appear to wear as quickly as my previous set of wheels. I bomb a lot of hills, and speed check a lot so usually wheels wear out pretty fast for me. They can be a bit slippery the first session or two, but once they\’re broken in they grip a little better.

The slide on these wheels is first class, super easy to break into a powerslide whenever you want and it doesn\’t stick on nose and tail slides. The hype on these is considerable, but totally justified.

I got Spitfire Formula four and Bones stf and spf\’s. The spitfire\’s escell when it comes to powersliding and flat spot resistance. The Spitfire seem just a little bit softer and slidier at the same time.

Bones are harder, they make a harder (clay-like) sound on landings and \bark\ better (bwwwuuuuuhhh!), but they \stick\ more when I want to slide them. Weird right, you\’d expect the hardest wheel to slide best but not so, maybe the formula four\’s secret ingredient is a little wax mixed in there 🙂 If you want to stick (fx on vert / skate-lite) then mayb bones, but for the allround performance go for the spits.

Been riding these for a couple weeks.. smooth ride good for all around skating.. parks and street works perfect!!!

So far so good! Been riding them for about two weeks, skating about 3-4 times out of the week around parks and street. Been doing some sticky nose slides and tail slides on the park tranny and no flats spots so far! Stoked on these!.

Always Indy! The Mason bearings are top! Can’t go wrong with the OJ’s! I stick with the best!

Worst wheels I ever tried. My board sounded like a helicopter after a of week skating. Instant flat spots. After a month use I switched them and the bearings just drop out. Terrible!

I love this bones skate park formula with p5 shape it\’s one of my favorite wheels you might need to use a slight bigger truck with this wheels as they are thinner.

I’m 100% satisfied. Tested them on different types of terrain and can’t complain about anything.

Since I’ve got back into skating a few years ago, I’ve primarily rode OJ’s KeyFrames 87A, with TeamRider 97A’s, in the mix. 97s are a bit harsh for me, yet 87A are a bit slow for the skatepark. I rode my new Nomad 95A’s yesterday.

perfect wheels! Hard, yet not skull-rattling hard. Even rode them in the bowl! 95A is my dream durometer. Nomads are my now and future go-to park and street wheel.

Wheels were great for about 2 months then I had two of them get to the point where my bearings would slide out of the wheel very easily. I’m rolling on the OJ Elite Hardlines right now and haven’t had the same issue.

The Nomads are great for riding in crusty spots though. I would definitely give them another try.

The wheel was great out the box, it made everything easily rideable and smooth. I found out that it’s very unslidable, it sticks to the ground more frequently compared to a spitfire ,but I think that’s the disadvantage of having a soft wheel, it didn’t have a problem doing slides with it, with enough wax that’ll do the job.

Over time of using this wheel it tends to harden more, making it not feel the same when it was out the box.

These wheels are awesome!! I’ve been riding them in an orange 80’s shaped board and they look like there were design for it, perfect fit! Overall I loved the way they ride and feel, easy to get speed on because the size and duro, but grippy enough to save you from slide in tight turns.

To make it even better, the graphic is sick and with the conical shape design I’m sure it would last for a while. So stocked on my Winkowski slime balls!!!.

So stoked to get my hands on another set of Slimers. They appear to be of the same mold from the eighties. I have not had the opportunity to get them to the park for their maiden voyage but am very much looking forward to it.

These wheels are the best boy! Perfect for 80s boards. They are fast, smooth, and they shred boy! Power slides for 10 feet boy!

Bought 2 sets of these. They obviously look great. Rides really smooth, using them on al sorts of terrain. Do note they wear pretty fast. 2-3 days of flat ground tricks and there is slight chip on the inside of the wheels, but nothing hindering the riding experience so far.

So not bad.

I like these wheels. They don’t flat spot easy. You can do great powerslides with them without getting flat spots.

Solid wheels. First time riding the Hardline shape and I really like them. I have them on my Dressen Rose Crew deck with Indy 159s and running Bronson ceramic bearings. I am recently getting back into skating and use this set-up to cruise the local park hitting some banks and transitions.

The wheel shape gives a solid foundation and feels good on concrete. Rolls nice and haven’t noticed any flat spotting or other wear. Highly recommend.

This Elite formula and shape is awesome! These wheels are the perfect size and durometer – not too soft or hard. Great for both streets and skatepark surfaces. Another plus is that they keep their color and don’t stain or turn yellow like older wheel formulas.
