Best Siren Build Borderlands 2 (2025 Updated)

Borderlands: Game of the Year isn’t physically available on PS4 in the UK. It came out in the US, mainly as an exclusive at GameStop (the US version of the UK store – GAME). Upon seeing that the game was region free I looked on here to see if I could get myself a copy of it, even if it was used.

To my delight, I managed to buy a brand new and sealed copy of the game for just under 30 (with free delivery too)! The game plays brilliantly on my UK PS4. Videogame companies really need to try and commission physical copies of these limited release titles in the UK and other places outside of the US.

I managed to get lucky this time. I would have bought the game for 24. 99 on the PS Store, which would have been okay. Nevertheless, holding something I have bought is infinitely better than getting something digitally from a server; a server which will probably stop working someday in the future.

All the joy and trials of the original Borderlands game, now available for the XBox One. I purchased this because I was getting tired of going back and forth between platforms if I wanted to play various Borderlands games.

(Already have The Handsome Collection for XBox One. ) It’s nice to go back to where the stories all began, and play the old character classes. If this does have a drawback, it’s in the multi-player games.

Some issues there that detract quite a bit. But, if you’re only interested in solo play, no problems what so ever. While it’s hard to call playing Borderlands nostalgic, it is. And it’s wonderful.

Great game to get your blood pumping as you cast your dominance over the lands of pandora. You just never know what might be waiting to kill you around the next corner. Not to mention, how perplexing it can be at times when you find a bad ass weapon of badness when your pack is already full of weapons of sure destruction.

I’ve been playing this game off and on for many years and still Love it and it is still full of surprizes every time I pick it back up again. Now if you find that you are having issues activating your pc cd game due to the secureom portion of the install, don’t worry, do what the install tells you all the way up to downloading the activation request file, if any point beyond that fails simply go directly to support.

securom. com /DFA unlock/ just take out the spaces to get to the game verification site to complete the install as for some reason the take 2 site fails to connect to that server to verify your copy of the game.

May contain spoilers. I’ll try not to state anything not already shown in trailers. Borderlands 2 plays very differently from the original. While it keeps the base elements of RPG progression and large intertwining storyline of the original there are alot of changes to the gameplay.

Elemental damage is generally pointless on an enemy type unless it is specifically designed for it (e. g. Shock damage weapons are only useful on shielded enemies, whereas on the original shock damage would still rack up more damage than a non elemental weapon), a new elemental type has been introduced: “Slag”, when a enemy is slagged it allows you to deal double the original amount of damage you would normally deal.

The AI in the game have been improved alot (in the original, if you hit a skag in a vehicle it would either splat or stay on your bumper doing damage, but in borderlands 2 if you hit an animal with a vehicle, you bowl it over).

There are a bunch of new enemies including: threshers, goliaths and stalkers. Weapon manufacturers now have different specialities (e. g. Jakobs from borderlands 1 used to specialise in powerful weaponry but fired very slowly, in borderlands 2 jakobs weapons fire as fast as you can pull the trigger, but aren’t much more powerful anymore.

) S&S munitions no longer exist. Eridian weapons have been replaced with E-Tec weapons that can be found by every manufacturer and tend to fire either spikes, railgun shots, or plasma balls. The skill tree from the first game is very similar but instead of one tree with three sides it now shows three different sides.

Instead of elemental artifacts that you would equip in the first game you now have “relics” which equip to your player for added bonuses. Borderlands 2 now supports splitscreen over the net and LAN as well allowing you to play online with a friend.

Borderlands 2 keeps the humor of the original and does a very good job of making you hate the main enemy handsome jack, by the time you fight him. It could use a few patches as items tend to fall through the map from time to time which can become frustrating especially when it is a mission based retrieveal item.

Borderlands 2 doesn’t feel like borderlands, but it is still a great game, and deftinitely one not to be missed.

Great game, super fast shipping and arrived in immaculate condition. Just finished playing through the game now, and it was amazing and thrilling every step of the way. Would recommend this game to anyone who enjoys adventure games.

The story mode multiplayer is an awesome as feature that not many games at all offer. The character development is also very deep and great as well, allowing so much in-depth upgrades and improvements in your preferred/chosen area.

5 stars all around. A timeless classic.

So much fun! Game is huge with so many places to go. Lots of optional missions make it even funner. Loads of gun choices and different mods. I love that you have to really look around to find cases you cant just run through, shoot everyone and go.

Definitely get it.

This game is so much fun and different from the others. This is the most interesting part to learn about the game and how jack became a bad guy. Plus how cool clap trap can be in the game💕

While yes it is amazing to have another borderlands game I think it kind of strayed away and just didn’t have the same appeal and repeat feel as the other two games.

I gave this to a friend for Christmas and he loved it.

Incredibly disappointing. I’ve been playing the Borderlands games in couch co-op mode and have absolutely loved them (BL1, BL2, BLPS). However, BL3 has been a HUGE let down for us in couch co-op, which is really the best way to play!! There are so many bugs that it makes the game really frustrating to play.

The Fast Travel system in this game is absolutely pointless, the way points are wrong and don’t tell you where you really need to go if you’re on the wrong map, and if one player is in a menu, it will completely spaz out the other players screen.

All of these issues and more persisted after updates as well. All in all, I don’t recommend this game. Super dissappointing, 2K.

Since Borderlands 2, I have awaited the next installment for the current generation. I don’t really count the Pre-Sequel as that came across as a very “shoe-horned” stopgap to our wait for the actual game that is Borderlands 3.

This game has had numerous updates, and 3 DLC releases (4th is soon to come out later this month), and even with all the new added content it still seems just a bit too broken to truly feel like something of quality.

Balancing issues, buggy game play, what feels like a complete lack of quality story telling and character development. Characters like Tina are all but completely absent aside from sort of dropping in on a couple of missions here and there.

But she isn’t the Tiny Tina we have come to love. Her grown up persona is very lacking, and contrived at best. Balancing is a horrible downfall for this game. They got rid of the slag nonsense, but now enemies will go from being somewhat beatable at harder difficulties to complete bullet sponges at just the next difficulty from there.

Drop rates for weapons are a bit absurd, but you never seem to get any weapon of quality with all that you are seeing drop after defeating higher level enemies. So you end up grinding at lower levels just to get a weapon that can allow you to move up 1 level of difficulty.

Then you rinse and repeat. It’s a terrible experience and doesn’t have a fracction of the replay value that BL2 had/has, All in all this is a huge disappointment for those of us that have waited something like a decade to have this game.

Gearbox really messed this thing up.

Decided to pick up Borderlands 3 as it was on sale and I heard good things about it from friends. After playing 20+ hours, I think I am hooked. The gun sounds in this game are magnificent & the shootouts are quite intense.

I ended up playing for 3 hours straight the first night I got it (far longer than I usually play). Sure, there are a few glitches & bugs here and there but it’s still a solid game. I definitely suggest picking it up if it’s on sale.

Only negative is claptrap and a few other characters. They’re utterly annoying. I’m told this is the way all Borderlands games are though so I just mute it when anyone’s talking. Lol.

Fans of the first two games will enjoy playing this third installment of an entertaining first person shooter game. What is improved in this game is the game map evolution in being able to travel off Pandora and fight on different planets, each with their unique terrain and settings.

The first couple of missions are rather dull, to allow the player to get use to the controls and gameplay. Once the player reaches level 5 and gains access to more weapons, such as the assault rifle and shotgun, it becomes more fun.

The boss level fights are very tough. One way to survive is to run and jump in circles when trying to recharge shields and health. There is no safe place to hide when fighting the level bosses, who do a lot of damage.

This game offers a lot more loot than in the previous two games. I was able to sell the loot and buy a lot more storage deck upgrades for ammo and backpack carrying than in the previous two games. The script is well done too, as the player becomes involved in the war between two rival corporations that make the weapons that are used in the game.

The storyline also takes the player to other weapons makers in the game, in their quest to find the vaults. The offbeat, dark sense of humor continues in this series and play four different character classes, each with their different bonuses and skill paths.

The different weapons and how they handle allows each player to choose their fighting style and which items to keep and use for each mission. Side quests are very important to level up and gain new skills.

It makes the player really think as to which bonuses they want their character to have, based on their game play style. The only detractor to this game is the side quests where the player has to jump around and try to climb things.

It often becomes frustrating and detracts from the main storyline and first person shooting game. People who want to play platform jumping games can play Sonic instead. The rest of us bought this game for first person shooting game action.

Finished the game as a Level 35+ character after completing many of the side quests. Didn’t try the Slaughterhouse side mission as it looked like a frustrating way to waste ammo and lose money getting killed and respawned.

It was tough enough in Borderlands 2. Also skipped the delivery side quests and could finish some of the jump/ climb radio tower side quests. After finishing the campaign, the player can go back and play in mayhem mode to gain more experience and continue to increase their level.

This is a very fun, challenging, and winnable video game for those who like first person shooters.

This game is SO FUN!! I really enjoyed this game and it was much better than the prequel. My only issue is the main characters. There was no reason to invest into them like the characters on the first two.

I have only played as the beast master and Irish so far but the other ones just looked boring. I love you can have a big spider with the beast master but his outfit is awful. The Irish is pretty cool but you wouldn’t know that by looking at him.

One of my favorite things about borderlands is this is one of the last few games you can play two player sitting next to each other. I love that.

Ever since I played the first one I was hooked to the game series. Borderlands 3 is a great couch co-op game to play and get lost in! I highly recommend it! I got this game for me and my sister to play.

The characters are fun, unique and all have different skill sets. Different playing styles to match characters. The storyline is great as always! Keeps you hooked throughout the game play. Honestly can not wait for the next one!.

This collection is large and requires a lot of gigs but if you have space it is worth every dollar. One of the best co-op shooters on the switch. Performance is incredibly solid in handheld across all titles.

Each game has tons of missions to do and loads of fun DLCs that can keep you hooked for hours. I can’t recommend it enough.

Let’s be honest. If you love borderlands you will love this! Its borderlands on the go!The games are a looter shooter, with multiplayer aspects. If you play this multiplayer you will have much more fun than single-player but it is equally as approachable.

The second game has villain that you will love to hate. In terms of the way it runs. Iv had no issues. No frame drops nothing like that. But when you drive the cars you will notice that they are significantly slower then its console counter partsAll in all.

A must have game for the switch and all around fabuloud port. This will be great for killing time!.

Amazing, I’ve always been a big fan of the Borderlands franchise and have playing it across different platforms, after my experience with the PS Vita I was left extremely underwhelmed. I was a very adopter if the switch buying buying it on launch.

After seeing what the switch was capable of I yearned for Borderlands 2 on the switch! And here we are. All but the latest game on the switch and it more than lives up to expectation, I have encountered some frame issues at some points mainly on the Mad Moxxi DLC (The arena DLC) and some other points where there are plenty of bodies as well as NPC’s on screen but it’s still very much playable and not at all a deal breaker huge value! 10/10.

Borderlands. whats not to like?!? When is the last time you played an awesome, fun, and totally entertaining free roam (sandbox) game, THAT WAS CO-OP?!? (Oh, did I mention there’s also a leveling up system in this game? That’s right it’s an action/first-person shooter/RPG that’s COOPERATIVE!!!) In Borderlands you basically play as a mercenary-for-hire that travels around the land searching for people in need of assistance.

When you find someone in need of help, they will give you a “mission” to accomplish somewhere in the game. Once you have completed the task, you can return to the person who gave you the quest and claim your “reward” for doing so.

There are main story missions that progress you through the “story” of the game, as well as plenty of side missions to help you level-up your character and explore the land more. As I said before this is an open-world game, so you can roam about and just have fun exploring the landscape and searching for loot/treasure, or you can focus on completing the missions that everybody has for you.

You can go where you want, do what you want, and do it whatever way you want to. It’s your choice how you play the game, and with an almost endless assortment of weapons to choose from throughout the game, and a good variety of missions to play through, combined with the absolutely AWESOME ability to play this game the whole way through with your friends online this game will no doubt provide any gamer who likes cooperative based, freeroam, action/first-person shooter games (with some RPG elements) countless hours of enjoyment! Now that’s just the regular version of the game.

Just when you didn’t think the game could get any better. when you buy the Game of the Year edition of Borderlands, you will recieve 4 add-on content packs that will give you even more main and side missions to complete, more weapons, new enemies, raise the maximum level for players, and new areas to explore.

All around it will give you even more things to do and again, you play them how you want, and with who you want. I highly recommend this game to anyone, especially those who love the CO-OP games!.

Borderlands was the surprise hit of 2009 for me, but I skipped the DLC as I had finished it and had enough of it. I was lucky to get the Game of the year (GOTY) edition and have had a little play and boy was I a fool.

Anyway I will start with the main game as that what you will be playing the most. Setting Borderlands is set on the planet of Pandora. Lured by its apparent vast deposits of minerals, several colonization ships sponsored by the Dahl Corporation (one of several diversified mega-corporations that appear to control and govern entire planets) journey to the planet and build settlements there.

The mining operations are cost-effectively manned by large amounts of convict labor brought to the planet by Dahl. One of the other mega-corporations, known as the Atlas Corporation, had found an ancient vault on a nearby planet known as Prometheus, filled with alien technology that allowed them to make leaps and bounds in starship and weaponry technology, and overtake their competitors.

However, the Dahl-sponsored search for a vault on Pandora turns out to be fruitless, and the massive industrial mining operations soon deplete the bulk of the mineral deposits. Furthermore, the coming of the planet’s summer unleashes hordes of dangerous alien wildlife coming out of hibernation.

Those who are rich and important enough to do so leave the planet, leaving the rest of the population to scavenge for their living in isolated settlements, seeking out a living in the barren wastelands and industrial trash heaps across the planet.

To make matters worse, the Dahl Corporation simply opened the gates of the prison labor camps during their departure, and gangs of bandits terrorize the populace. The Game starts with four Fortune Seekers who have just arrived, chasing the rumor of another vault on Pandora.

So to start, the Positive. The Graphics are very different in a good way. I really like the cell shaded design. This does mean that it is easier to spot Enemies and you know you are playing Borderlands.

Each Character plays differently, thanks to their skill tree and preferred weapons, There is a couple of duds skills but you can always reset you skills if you find it not working for you. A truck load of weapons and equipment, the games say Bazillon.

And I not going to prove them wrong. But like most looting games you will have need to try a lot of rubbish till you find the right one for you. It has Humour in Spades, Claptrap his some great one liners.

Scooter comes out with some shocking lines. Even the main characters although one have little one lines give them a little personality. Now the bad. Plot is paper thin, Seriously the whole game plot would be shorter than this review.

You may wonder why I gave such a long explanation on the Setting. That is because the game gives you no Background about of what happened before you arrived. On the second play through I stopped and read manual and stuff on the net, and make a little more sence.

So I hope I Filled in a few blanks there. It is more fun to play on line, but with NZ low Data caps expect this could be problem for some people. Finally I wish the game would develop the characters story a little more.

I don’t think there is any character development. So if you like Diablo, FPS and RPG and wise you could play a game which mixes all these things into one, then this is your game. It is a Fun game, Just don’t go in Expecting a Call of Duty Plot and you will be fine.

All up 8/10 The DLC This is the Reason why you buy this version of the Game, and first problem it is not included in the case, you will need to download over 5 GB to get it all. Put I knew that before I brought the game.

So no problems there. For someone with a small data cap, say 3 GB limit, be careful one of these DLC is 2GB. I would of liked a extra Disc, like the Fallout 3 GOTY edition, but you been warned. The Zombie Island of Dr.

Ned, The Secret Armory of General Knoxx and Claptrap’s New Robot Revolution are pretty good. And do expand the game with new areas and graphics. A couple of these also increase the level cap as well.

Also unlike Fallout 3 these DLC are well made and pretty much free of any the Bugs, that stop the game. Good work Gearbox. As these games are set outside main game they have a little more freedom to be weird and wonderful than the main game.

Zombie Island especially looks great with it spooky backgrounds. Most of all they give more chance to Loot and Shoot. My Favourite is Zombie Island and New Robot Revolution. The lengthy Driving section in General Knox means it comes in third.

But there is always one black sheep in the Family and that is Mad Moxxi’s Underdome Riot, I can see what they where trying to do but it does work for me. Maybe because I not a major online gamer, I just have mixed feeling about.

Anyway if you haven’t had to chance to play this yet, grab the GOTY edition.

This game, though I’ve only played a small portion of it, is freakin’ fun. I seriously suggest, before even reading this, you click buy. Right now. Otherwise Marcus will shoot you. If you didn’t get that reference, then you need to buy and play this game.

There’s no escape, this game is so FUN. Playing with a mate is even more fun, especially if you can sit down over 5 or so hours and whack out a good chunk talking via headset. The loot grabbing, bandit shooting, skill gaining goodness of this game is extremely addictive.

The humor is hilarious. The art style is breathtaking. The music suits everything perfectly. If you’ve been looking for a co-op sci-fi space western first person shooter role playing game then look no further ;D.

Older FPS game which runs very fast on the PS4 – discovered you could change the field of view (and make it feel much more modern), loot is very rare so much more rewarding, there’s a lot of difficult grinding, limited ammo and no money, its a constant choice which weapons you need to save expensive ammo for, you can’t just go blasting with a rocket launcher (at least up to level 25).

Similar to the starting levels of others, eg Halo. It’s not harder than Borderlands 3, most of the time its easier, but some bosses wipe you out & you have to adapt your game and go at it 3 or 4 times.

The main benefit is lack of choice, rather than far too much choice with B3 – you have to make do with the limited offerings you have – but it’s fun, fast to get into, you can snipe bad guys with one shot but get your backside wiped if you didn’t notice the wildlife behind you, or fall through a maddening gap in the floor – haven’t played anything else since purchase.

My husband and I LOVE LOVE LOVE this game! Its fun and entertaining enough that it will waste away most of your weekend, lol. It caters to both male and female gamers, and is very tastefully done. The characters are awesomely designed (weapons/skins/faces/hair), have their own dialogue (for example, when you idle, they express their boredom).

It isnt lacking in intensity. There are plenty of opponents to kill, varying from people to monsters, on various colorful terrains and worlds. Its also abundant in side missions. If you want to have a good laugh while you play a hysterical/bloody game, this pack is for you! (^ – ^).

I absolutely love the Borderlands games, they’re so much fun! With a couple of different characters to choose from, you’ll find something to fit your preferred fighting style. My personal favorite is the soldier with his turrets.

My husband and I play this together all the time when we’re bored. We’ve both beaten them multiple times, oddly enough it’s one of the few games I never tire off. FYI, this is not a game for kids. Loads of cursing and violence, it’s a great way to let off some steam! The graphics are in this great comic book style which I didn’t think would appeal to me, but it’s actually pretty great.

The first Borderlands is still my favorite, but these other two are worth checking out!.

Borderlands is a mix of many video game genres which makes it hectic, crazy and most of all fun. First some problems, some people I know who have owned or seen the game do not like the cartoon graphics and I suggest that you watch some game play before buying to make sure you will be able to enjoy the scenery as this style is not for everyone.

Also there are a few bugs I have come across, such as getting stuck (literally) in certain places and having to either kill yourself to get to the last checkpoint or reloading a save. There are also the usual bugs found in most RPG’s – enemies getting stuck in walls, freezing (not as much as fallout and skyrim though) etc.

However all of these are to be expected in most games of its scale and do not hinder game play too much. To the good points – There are lots of guns, lots and lots of guns. Running around collecting more, selling old ones and upgrading new ones occurs frequently.

The character you choose also effects gun skill, the hunter for example likes snipers while the soldier likes combat rifles and by using certain classes of guns you rank up your proficiency in that class increasing damage and accuracy.

Also, the game play is great, a mix of FPS action while all the time being an open world RPG and scavenge based loot collector game (yeah I really meant many genres) but it all fits together so well and had not been seen before the game came out which makes it so different from generic shooters.

Thirdly, the co-op game play is brilliant, playing with friends, completing quests and having fun is amazing, it feels rewarding and is fun for as long as the game is, (which is very long. ) With all side quests this game can take over a day in play time easily and you may want to keep going with the four add ons included in this edition, 2 of them are very fun and the other 2 are ok and worth playing but not as memorable.

I don’t like to end reviews talking about the start of the game however you always save the best for last. The intro is amazing, the song and introduction to the four main characters are brilliant and you want to watch it over and over again, if you watch the introduction then you want to play the game it is that good.

I would highly recommend this game for the price at the moment and although it has its flaws they are highly outweighed by good points. Get this before Borderlands 2 comes out in a few months. Remember this game did not win game of the year for nothing!.

I honestly didn’t even open the package. I was severely disappointed that only the FIRST BL is on the card. BL2 and the Pre-Sequel require a download code (included). This doesn’t work for me, as I bought it for me soon and I to play (on different systems).

That means one of us an l can only play BL1 without having to purchase the other two again. Don’t understand why 2k did this when BioShock just automatically initiated a download, without a code. You just need the cartridge in the system to “verify”.

Played the second game a few years back with my best friend, and got me hooked on this series, wanting to get back and play it with him again. Only thing about this Im not a fan of is the need for a 42 gb micro SD card to play Presequel and 2.

I dont own one and not about to purchase one anytime soon. Thats more a me thing though as I missed that bit of info when buying the game, thinking itd just have 3 game cards in the case.

Great Game at a Great Price. Excellent game, quite funny. Loot mechanisms are exceptional and the guns feel great, particularly the elemental ones. Story isn’t amazing, but the side quests are great fun and the art style is super unique and looks great without sacrificing performance.

Great solo or with friends, and the different skills builds are constantly engaging and provide nigh-instant replay ability. Multiple modes, including a Horde Mode, spice things up after multiple runs of the main campaign.

Cheap Fun game, Quick fast purchase and shipping.

This is a great game, one of the funniest games from telltales since Sam and Max. The comedy is well done, and the story does a great job balancing out the drama as well. Especially love Rhys and Fiona.

Troy baker and Laura bailey are great at voicing these characters. I also like that unlike the ps3 version, the loading times are much faster, allowing me to get straight into the action. There are some issues, like some bugs in the game.

In episode 4 credits, it glitches out, showing the level glitched in the credits. And like the ps3 version, the ending credits in episode 5 abruptly stop, which I thought they fix in this version. There also the framerate, which can dip down a little bit.

I recommend the PC version if you want smooth framerates with no bugs.

I’ve never played borderlands (don’t crucify me, i own 2 of them I just haven’t gotten to them yet lol). That being sad, I still found this game incredibly enjoyable and found myself invested in the storyline.

Highly recommend for any Telltale fans, Borderlands fans, or anyone looking for a fun story based game.

I love the Borderlands franchise. I’ve played these games more than any other by far but this Tales From The Borderlands is complete RUBBISH. Not because of the format but because the controls will not respond.

I could not get past the very first loader bot encounter before I snapped the disc into pieces. It is unfathomable that this game was ever released or that so many ding dongs give this rubbish positive reviews.

I don’t know which is worse. BE WARNED STAY AWAY FROM THIS TITLE.

This is challenging and constantly changing game. The graphics and dialog are intended to be ‘cornball’, and this conveyed really well. Many reviewers complain about the length of video games being too short.

This game is really really long. Finishing the many side missions is essential to the leveling up process. I have not played any of the four add-on packs yet but I am on Playthrough 2. This began with my avatar on level 36 with all the weapons and upgrades I had acquired during the 1st run through, and nastier enemies to deal with as well.

I played this through solo but it can be played co-op. It ran without a hiccup on my Win7 Lenovo econo-box with a 2. 6 Ghz Pentium CPU. This is a very worthwhile purchase.

I HONESTLY wasn’t SURE about this game when it came out hence the reason I only bought it now. But I played the second at a friend’s and LOVED IT. I figured I would play through the 1st before the second.

Cell Shade is not my first choice for an FPS but this game will suck you in with Quirky Characters to say the LEAST 😛 And GREAT environments Borderlands though I haven’t played this one yet I KNOW I WILL LOVE IT JUST LIKE THE second one.

For ANY PS3 or Xbox 360 owners I recommend you add this SERIES to your collections today if you have not already.

This game is fun, but I don’t know why I am writing this big review. Um, not sure what all to say since I haven’t had much time to play the game. It’s fun. I’m mainly an RPG gamer, but still find this game enjoyable.

Now to fill this space. Cats, cats, cats, meow.

The game is great. but don’t be fooled by the comic book-ish appearance. The fact that it is violent won’t surprise anyone. It is a post-apocalyptic shooter. That said. any parent thinking it might be another Halo or Resistence is very wrong.

The humor, sarcasm and insults in this game are brilliant. however they are also vulger and completely inappropriate for even a 14 year old. Older teenagers and adults will love it. but keep it away from the young ones please.

Love Borderlands and I’m glad to have it in my collection again. It’s no where near as hard as Borderlands 2 with Ultimate Vault Hunter mode, so I prefer the original in this case.

There were a lot of things that made Borderlands such a great game when it came out three years ago: the hardscrabble planet, the oddball characters, the hostile creatures, the diverse missions, the abundant loot, the powerful skill trees, and the novelty of all these things combined in a cooperative first-person shooter.

In Borderlands 2, the novelty is gone, but all of the other elements are back and better than ever. This sequel doubles down on the successes of the original and shores up its shortcomings, improving the familiar formula and delivering dozens and dozens of hours of immensely entertaining gameplay.

Perhaps the most notable difference is that Pandora now feels like a vibrant, living place. What once was a lonely frontier planet populated primarily by savage men and feral beasts is, well, still a planet populated primarily by savage men and feral beasts.

But it isn’t so lonely anymore, thanks to an expanded cast of diverse and entertaining characters. Many familiar faces return, including the delusional robot, Claptrap; the hayseed mechanic, Scooter; and the bawdy vixen, Moxxi.

The four playable characters from the first game are back as well, and they each play a robust role in the story (and have way more spoken lines than ever before). There are some delightful new additions too, such as the arrogant antagonist, Handsome Jack, and the teenage demolitionist, Tiny Tina.

Random townsfolk also have a few things to say, no longer content with mute or monosyllabic responses, and even the bandits you fight have a broader range of context-sensitive taunts. The huge amount of high-quality voice acting required to bring this world to life is fueled by excellent writing, which provides some genuinely nasty tirades and surprisingly tender moments amid the avalanche of laugh-out-loud funny lines.

The breadth of personalities invigorates your adventure and makes Pandora a lively, engrossing place, the kind of place it fell short of being in the first game. The only drawback to the sheer volume of communication is that sometimes conversations are cut off by other incoming messages before you can hear them through.

This doesn’t pose any barrier to progression, but with dialogue this good, you don’t want to miss a word. If you apply this same philosophy to exploration, Borderlands 2 will keep you busy for a very, very long time.

The environments of Pandora are more vibrant and diverse this time around, and the eye-catching artistic aesthetic is enlivened with a richer color palette and more clever details. Textures sometimes load sluggishly when you’re entering new areas and occasionally look rough upon close inspection, but this is still a visually appealing world.

Diligent explorers will find both lovely vistas and amusing sights–the humor of the writing extends into the environmental design as well. There are tons of areas to visit during the course of your adventure, some of which you won’t even see if you don’t stray far from the main story missions.

The mission system is one area in which small tweaks have a noticeable impact. The onscreen checklist updates you of any mission.

I love this game. Lot’s of powerful weapons and each weapon has lots of variations a gun might seem at a glance to be on the week side and with little monetary value but then you notice it has a special ability like for example the round may explode on impact doing serious damage or it may burst into a fireball setting them on fire.

The weapons alone really keep you entertained for hours. The game play itself is great. It lets you roam all over the world questing for this and that taking jobs as you like and you will like trust me.

If you like games like Halo you will like this game. I especially like the cars you get to drive, they blow Halo cars away I think. IN Halo you either drove or you manned the gun but here you can fire two different guns from the driver seat and then if you want to really unleash hell on them stop and hit triangle and you quickly jump to the big gun.

Also if you can’t seem to find your way into a city with high walls, just look around for something that might look like a huge ramp and go for it, hitting rocket boosters as you approach the top. LOL Should you buy this game? Everyone should have this game in their collection.

I wish I had of invested in it sooner but at least I got it for a good price. Oh, I am 45 years old so I may see things a bit different than some one half my age. My grandson didn’t care for the black outline look of everything but it didn’t bother me at all.

Not every game has to look like Call of Duty but if that’s what you have to have to make your tiddly wink you may be a little turned off by the look but if your looking for a really good game that gives you plenty to do and room to do it in and the firepower to make them pay, step right up.

I have this game for 3 systems now. I bought this originally for xbox 360 and I loved it, I have ALL legit level OP8 (80) characters and all have been legit leveled up, to give you an idea of how much I have played this game.

I bought it for vita but I wanted to move my characters over, so through this and that way I had to buy the ps3 version to upload my characters to the vita. Overall Borderlands is awesome, buy this game now, even without all the DLC you will enjoy this game for its story, graphics and engine which are all so so well done.

Controls and replay value are excellent. I spent so much time playing that it was worth every penny for the fun and I have played and made many friends too who went on raids and missions. You will also find a community of people who will help you if you are having problems with whatever.

Now with all that being said I tried this PS3 version and its load times are worse, the graphics look the same but it’s just laggy compared to 360 version. So I took a star off. The Vita version doesn’t compare at all with the ps3 version btw, but I just wanted to play on the go, but anyways buy this game if you have a ps3 I promise you won’t regret a second.

MUCH better than the first, and the first was good. The GOTY version dropped not too long ago and is around $30 and that might be worth a go if you really get into this game because buying the DLC separately will cost so much (I got the season pass.
