I had Mohs surgery on my right cheek to remove a very small basal cell carcinoma discovered during a routine skin cancer exam. I purchased the silicone sheeting upon the recommendation of my surgeon and started using it about three weeks after my surgery once the stitches had dissolved and the wound had healed.

I wear a sheet about 22 hours a day and wash it with mild dish soap, let it dry, and replace it after I shower. A follow up visit a month after the surgery and my surgeon is very pleased with how well I’m adhering to the after surgery scar care.

There’s still a bit of a red “halo” around the perimeters of the scar that should go away with time but I can have vascular laser treatment if it doesn’t. My surgeon instructed me to wear the sheets for three months and circle back if the redness hasn’t gone away completely.

If you live somewhere humid or have oily skin, you might want to use two sheets and rotate them, wearing one while the other one is drying. Excellent product and I’m so please the remaining scar will be indistinguishable from a smile line.

I have Fitzpatrick type 4-5, never had a keloid but due to the location I wanted to reduce the chance given my darker skin. I use 3M medical skin colored tape to secure it in place since it covers a curvature otherwise it would elevate on one side and not stay flush against the skin.

On my face it is hard to reuse as skin debris & oil interferes with the adhesive after one day (might be less of a problem on other parts of the body with fewer oil glands). Now that there is the Memorial Day 20% off- I recommend that you try it.

It was higher quality than another silicone sheet product I purchased through Amazon. I’m not a dermatologist or surgeon but there is good evidence for silicone sheets and in general (no specific brand) recommended to reduce scarring by the plastic surgeon.

I recently had 2 lumbar discs replaced and fused in my back. I have a 5-6 inch incision in the front and a 2-3 inch incision in the back. Therefore, I purchased the silicon compression wrap because I felt it would be better for covering both incisions at the same time.

So glad I purchased it. So far my scars are looking much less red and flatter. Additionally, I like that the wrap provides support to my sore tummy and back. As well as putting a layer of cushion between my back brace, or even just the waist of my pants, and my incision.

I used these for awhile after I had my daughter. My c-section scar was so big it was almost from hip to hip. While I wish I had continued self care used them longer for even better results i was definitely impressed with what I did get my scar is so much smaller then bi anticipated so much lighter even tho I only used them for a few weeks! My is still visible but not very bad anyone who saw my scar at first was shocked to see how it looked after using these.

I love how you can wash them let them air dry to use over a couple times that alone made it a reasonable price to pay. They were pretty comfortable to wear even with a fresh c-section scar. They did roll up occasionally but it wasn’t bad once they were washed air dried they were good to go again! I would recommend this to anyone who recently had a c-section!.

Awesome! Works really well to smooth and lighten large abdominal scars. I had a surgery (not c-section) and was left with a few scars including one 8 inch long purple bumpy scar. It seems like a really simple concept, but it WORKS! Its basically a smooth silicone strip with bandage-type beige fabric on one side.

I sometimes apply some of the liquid scar-away before this, but it works without anything. Stick it on, hop into bed, scar is smoother and lighter in the morning. I wash it and reuse twice before opening a new strip.

Very effective. A bit pricey , but worth it, especially if can find a good deal. I had to have breast surgery and was looking for a product to help me with scarring I tesrarched and reviewed and Embrace is what I chose.

I am so pleased with the effectiveness However, it does not stay applied to skin/scar as well as hoped/should. Says stays on up to10 days. And one 3 strip pkg supposed to last about 30 days of the min 60 days recommended for best results.

Ok that sounds good and did not really expect the full 10 days. But, I am in third application and each has only stayed applied well 3-5 days before starts coming loose on ends/edges and flopping around.

The first one I applied came off prior to 10 days, but the second one is staying on. I rubbed alcohol on my skin before applying the second one and that helped. This one is staying on even when showering.

This product has done absolutely nothing for my scar on my nose! In fact I wore it the other day, and when I removed the silicone bandage, it seemed more irritated! I now have an appointment with a Dermatologist!.

I have a wound on my thigh and am under the care of a Wound Care Doctor. I bandage my wound (5in. X 6in. ) everyday and cover it with a thick 5” x 9” ABD pad. I have tried over 20 different types of tape and learned of Mepitac Silicone tape from a visiting home nurse.

5. ) It’s super gentle on your skin, if you have sensitive skin this is the tape for you. I saved the best for last: 5. ) It’s reusable. Because I have to change my bandage everyday I simply pull off the old tape-set it aside- dress my wound then reapply the same tape.

I get about 5-6 uses out of the tape before I have to discard it and cut new pieces. I could get free tape because I’m under Doctors care, but I would rather buy this well priced, reusable Mepitac Tape because it is simply superior to ANYTHING out there.

Mepitac tape is the best I’ve ever used on my eyes. If you have the problem where your eyes do not seal at night and need to tape them closed, you know how important it is to get a gentle tape. Some brands say gentle — but you know, on the eyes gentle isn’t enough.

I have been using Mepitac tape for years. It is the easiest to remove, it is sanitary in that it has backing on it, and comes in rolls so you can cut the length you need. I recommend it. Shop around to find the best price, though.

The Mepitac silicone tape was provided by my surgeon and since my incision/scar was healing so well I didn’t want to try another brand. This tape is 2x wider than needed so I cut it in half. I’m diabetic so bites, scraps, cuts, incisions heal but the hyperpigmentation can last for several months.

My scar is flat and soft without hyperpigmentation after only 6 weeks.

I attached the silicone sheet to my keliod. It helps to flatten it a bit. What I am so happy about the product is that it reduces itchy feelings at my keliod. This one is stickier than other brands I have tried!.

I started using Cica Care Gel sheeting several years ago on the recommendation of my Physical Therapist. The incision from carpal tunnel surgery had formed a keloid scar. Along with PT to break down the constriction, I used the Cica Care and the red, raised areas went away.

I also used it to treat a keloid scar from Achilles heel surgery. I am currently using it on the incision from rotator cuff surgery and even after 1 days use I could see and feel a difference. But, be patient.

Ordered Cica Care Silicone Gel for a laceration to my face that I no longer felt comfortable with. Plastic surgery reconstructed the tissue alignment, but the mark was still there. This gel sheet seems to be the icing on the cake however.

I have sleep apnea and use this tape to tape my mouth shut so the forced air from my CPAP machine will go to my lungs instead of blowing out of my mouth while I am asleep. Other tapes are way too harsh.

This is the only tape I have found that will not tear at my skin, esp. around the mouth where it is tender. I use it every night. It tears easily with fingers too but is nice and thick. Highly recommend to anyone who has to use tape over and over.

Living temporarily with a foley catheter as a gastric drainage tool. This is a great tool for stabilizing the catheter for comfort and it also provides a deterrent from pulling the tube out accidentally.

Silicone tape is a tried and true method that surgeons recommend to diminish the look of scars after surgery. My son had surgery to remove a growth from his neck. We bought CicaTape when we brought him home.

It worked. CicaTape is slightly more expensive than other brands of silicone tape but when you compare them, you know instantly why. CicaTape is thicker, but feels soft and forgiving on the skin. It has micro perforations that make it easy to tear, as well as regular perforation points about 1 inch throughout the roll.

It stays on all day as needed and can even be washed and reused, though we have typically just changed the tape out. I recommend CicaTape over other brands of silicone tape. It has been 6 month since the surgery and the scarring has been greatly diminished.

I was skeptical when received the product as the packaging shows that it was ‘Made in China’. The packaging quality look professional. Thus I have contacted a sales representative from Smith & Nephew and they have confirmed that they have a factory in China.

I have experience using Cica Care before. It is no doubt a good product however must be used for a long term (5-10 years) to heal an old scar (30 years old).

It does work and the product is very true to its word, its better then the scar away pads at Wal-mart. I would recommend buying the Hypa fix tape with this product to make sure it stays in place. spending $60 for 6 months of scar healing vs a dermatology paying $2,000 for lazer therapy is not a bad bargain.

There was a nice article in the American Association of Equine Practitioners proceedings on the use of these silicon patches in the healing of large equine wounds several years ago. They have been very effective in my hands.

This tape is far and away better than the previous CVS brand silicone tape I bought, which was recommended by my physician after some surgery. That tape was rather flimsy and didn’t adhere like the Mepitac does.

Mepitac is substantial and adheres so much better. It also comes in a roll and will last much longer than the CVS product. All in all, it’s a winner in every way. You will be happy you bought it.

Great for sensitive skin, it doesnt rip skin when you take it off. Sticks for days and is conforming and water proof. One of the few medical tapes that we are not allergic to.

This tape works best if you use it shortly after your scars are closed up. Mepitac tape has done wonders for my scars after I got a major surgery that left me with 2 big scars. It flattened my scars out COMPLETELY! My scars are soft and feel like normal skin after using this tape.

Gradually, it lightens your scars but definitely does not make them fade all the way. Time will do that. My scars used to be a darkish purple/red color, now theyre a light pink color. Parts of the scar are extremely close to being my skin color again! If it wasnt for this tape, I definitely wouldnt have gotten the same results that I did.

The one downside with this tape is the adhesive, if you sweat a lot, the tape will fall off and wont be sticky anymore. But if you keep the area dry and clean, you should be all good because its very sticky!.

Got these originally from my therapist after carpal tunnel surgery for my wound. It works great for scars and healing. He said it is even better than the scar creams and way cheaper. It is silicone, so it is soft to the touch and lets air get in.

Peels off easy, so I wore a makeshift glove at night so it would not come off. Love them and bought a box to have in the house in case anyone gets a cut.

I have used this tape since my double mastectomy healed. It will stay on for about 2 weeks. I keep it on even in the shower. Just pat it dry where the tape is. I can tell it has helped to lighten the scars.

Will continue to use on my scars. It’s very soft tape. And doesn’t leave any residue on your skin. Also it won’t cause any problem if you are like me and regular band aide adhesive causes you redness.

I had the worst oil burn just before Christmas when l spilt hot boiling cooking oil over the back of my hand. Several blisters turned into one huge bubble on my hand. It was the worst time of my life.

It took 3 weeks to fully heal but those three weeks were tough and painful. The only thing that worried me was the scar l would be left with as l love wearing rings and l couldn’t envisage such a great big scar.

I googled scar reducing treatment and ProSil silicone stick had such great reviews. It was 3 times the price in chemists and online but l managed to find it on Ebay. I’ve been using it for about a week now and my son who is a Dr cannot believe how flat and small the scar is getting.

I have very sensitive skin and in the past I have had problems with tape on my skin. This is easy to remove and stays in place. Very easy to work with. Doesn’t leave a rash or tears the skin.

I’ve been pleased with the results I’ve obtained using Cica Care Silicoe Gel Sheets. While it may take a month or two to see results, depending on the scar, the pieces are easy to cut to size, and reusable to a small extent.

I have washed pieces with soap and water, and been able to reuse a few times. However, they do not adhere to the skin, and do require taping. I suggest Hypafix for that purpose. It is non irritating even for sensitive skin.

Its only been three weeks but I notices my keloid have gotten smaller but its still itchy. Im Planning on buying a cream (scarprin) because I cut myself twice from scrathing so much when im asleep. I figured its not helping the healing process to go any faster.

I’ve been using the cica care on a 15cm scar after open hip surgery, (started 2 weeks post-op). So far, so good – and it’s only been 3 weeks. I had a large raised lumpy bit of scarring at each end of the scar line where the stitches started and finished.

This has completely gone! The scar line is still red, but the smaller raised sections where each stitch had gone into the skin have gone as well. I cut the dressing into smaller strips (about 2cm wide), and the longer strip tore in half about a week ago, but all the pieces are still very usable.

The dressing needs to be washed twice a day – it’s easy to do, and no problem. Stays on without anything else over it, and no irritation (and I have fairly sensitive skin). I’d recommend this dressing.

I have this sheet and also got the silicone gel xeragel? This sheet is far superior in my opinion than the gel. The gel is sticky and is not nice to wear daily. The Cica Care gel sheet is washable and is reused over and over again, so is very cost effective even though the initial outlay is large.

I have a neck dissection scar and it is great to have it covered up most of the day with the gel sheet, I haven’t even used any other adhesive as the gel strip is sticky enough even after washing over and over again.

I cut this in half to make 2 strips. It’s able to stretch a little so it fits over my entire c section scar and stays on all day with full brief underwear. I’m seeing a big difference in my scars healing and I’m getting lots of use out of it by washing each evening with a drop of hand soap.

I bought this as my surgeon recommended it for helping to heal scars. Only been using it a week but I have noticed that the scar seems less red and raised. You can only use it once wound has fully healed.

It is really-usable if handled as per the instructions and it keeps its stickiness. Very pleased.

I’m very pleased with the silicone sheet. I’ve successfully cut it into four strips that I can rotate, and always have a spare if I mislay one. It’s easy to apply, comfortable and over time is flattening my scar from recent back surgery.

The only drawback is that now and then they do slip or detach from me and attach to my clothing, but this has only happened a handful of times. As long as my skin is clean and dry when I apply them and I’ve rinsed them properly after washing they work just fine.

i recommend them and think that the large sheet is good value for money.
