20 Best Silhouette Cameo 3 Bundle (2023 Updated)

The silhouette cameo 4 plus is a beautiful machine, but also has been incredibly irritating to troubleshoot. It is infamous for having trouble detecting the lineup markers. There’s forums upon forums of people who have gotten pretty much 0 response from silhouette america.

The machine itself has a lot of great features and it cuts great. It is better than cricut in a lot of ways, but the problem is, it is so hard to use half the time I almost regret buying it. I chalk most of this up to silhouette go being not getting the work it needs.

It has a lot of issues, such as color will not print accurately as long as you use silhouette go. not using silhouette go to print means you have to buy a pix scan mat and every time you need to print and cut you have to take a photo or scan your work before and send it to silhouette go.

this is great except it has trouble reading anything with a glare if you use a phone or tablet to take a photo of it. this includes laminate for stickers and anything else shiny or not matte. the whole process is really excessive.

This isn’t accounting for trying to get the finicky bluetooth working or having to realign because the cut is off (literally out of the box). for the price of this machine it should be easy to use. however, this is not JOANN stores fault, just silhouette america.

so overall, it is a nice, good looking machine, but the process of cutting takes longer than just cutting them by hand.

I’d rate more like a 3. 75. I’ve been disappointed that no Quick Start physical booklet was enclosed with machine, rather I have to access all info online which can be troublesome with limited wifi in the mountains.

Also have purchased other blades as autoblade is lacking in ability to thoroughly cut matte vinyl. haven’t tried it on anything else but if matte doesn’t get a clean cut set at 6 with a 20 force, I doubt a thicker material would work either.

That said, I’m relatively patient and have self taught many editing and sketch programs so I’m learning slowly and with additional $$ expense. Determination and perseverance.

Coming from the Cricut platform, this machine is certainly not quality. It’s VERY VERY loud. So, prepare yourself to not be able to hear yourself think if you are working next to this thing. Also, if you are getting this to utilize the ‘cut from the roller’ feature, be prepared to sporadically lose yards and yards of your vinyl if you plan on cutting longer than 2 feet.

The vinyl will get dragged and pulled and it will shift if you take your eye off of it. Another gripe. if you like using Bluetooth to connect to your device, good luck with this one. Just like cutting from the roll, it’ll work sporadically.

I think the max reach is 10ft and even if you are within 10ft, there’s a high chance you’ll lose your Bluetooth connection and your machine will stop cutting half way through (more loss vinyl). OH, and lastly, if you you leave your screen on the cut screen for a prolonged time, the program crashes and requires you to force quit.

Other than that, when the machine works, it is a dream come true. I would return the thing if it wasn’t for me having to pay to reship and this whole C19 pandemic.

First off, it’s not 9†wide. It’s still the regular 8†one. So I’m not sure why it’s advertised as 9â€. And second, I had no issues with ordering or anything through swing design but I didn’t like the machine.

It’s SUPER loud, it feels cheaply made, and it takes forever to do anything. The design software feels clunky and old. It’s slow and it’s not very user friendly. Granted I am comparing this to my experience with Cricut.

I’m currently trying to return this purchase because I really just didn’t like it and I no longer need it now that my Cricut has reset itself and is cutting properly. Overall, no complaints about swing design.

Just not a fan of silhouette.

I recently took upon sticker making as my new hobby and came across a variety of machines that would make the cutting process a lot more easier. Upon doing my research, I thought the silhouette portrait 3 would be the best fit.

Boy, was I wrong! I followed every tutorial video, instructions clearly, and saw so many step to step blogs on how to work the machine. Nonetheless, the machine despite every attempt I made to fix the error haunted me and frustrated me up to the point of throwing it against the wall with the words on the screen that said “Registration failed; Registration marks not detected.

” Ugh!!!! I encountered that message probably like 20 times before giving up entirely and resulting in returning the item back to the store. Would not recommend for beginner users. Software is really complicated and overall was not the best fit for me.

I am honestly feeling so defeated right now. I have had this machine for two weeks, I have watched every tutorial and troubleshooting video, and I have yet to successfully cut one single sticker. The studio for creating my print works fine, but once I load it into the Silhouette, nothing works.

The test cut only ever scores the sheet, and the machine will not read registration marks, therefore, it won’t cut anything. I’ve tried every tip and trick and still, nothing. I’m not sure if it’s my machine, my project, or if it’s the Portrait in general, considering the number of people who share my same issues.

I am going to return and possibly try the Cameo. I have never had a piece of tech give me this my trouble.

This is the 2nd time that the auto blade has failed on me within 10 cuts. I think it’s the constant pound of the machine changing it to the correct setting that throws it off. The blade will not even come out of the housing.

This happened with the original that came with the machine, the last one I purchased and now this one that I purchased less than 2 weeks ago. Thank goodness I have 1 other Silhouette with a ratchet blade and 2 Cricuts to keep my business going.

I will stick to the ratchet blades from now on.

This is my second and last autoblade. Both were defective, would not hold a blade position throughout a long cut, and never made a cut that did not require finishing by hand with a craft knife no matter how many times the cut settings were tweaked.

The premium blades released during the cameo 3 iteration are still superior, though you will need an adapter to use them with the cameo 4. Like the rest of the changes with cameo 4, the autoblade is more hype than substance.

Even the original black rachet blades cut better than the autoblade.

I have used a Cameo machine since they came out (10 years now). This is by far the worse blade design and worse functioning machine Silhouette has come out with. Good grief. why? Why do I need the blade to un-ratchet then ratchet every.

single. time I hit send? It should allow you to hold a setting when using the exact same material. It is a huge waste of time and machine wear to constantly have it ratchet before if makes a cut. Ugh!!! I am selling this POCrud and going back to my Cameo 2 with a black ratchet blade! Sorry Silhouette.

I am no longer a fan.

The cutting mat was folded in half to fit in a flat box. The mat was not designed to be folded, so it left a crease and a couple of creases right in the middle, probably rendering it useless for use in the Silhouette.

I would return it, but this is a discontinued item. I am trying to get the crease and kinks out by laying weights on it and gradually applying heat. Not sure if Ill ever be able to use it.

My second mat of this size. Replacement actually, since my dog chewed the last one. Durable mat with great adhesive for my vinyl. Size is perfect for larger projects and I use it to weed my designs once image is cut.

Had no problems feeding into my Cameo. Wish the whole mat had the same amount of stickiness. One corner had less adhesive compared to the rest of the mat

Purchased the rotary blade to cut fabric to make appliques out of quilting cotton fabric. It was my first time using the blade, so I had to do a bit of research to get it properly set up to cut. I didn’t realize that you have to twist a collar to expose the cutting blades, so on my first couple of tries there was no cuts at all.

Once I set it up properly, it worked very well. I don’t use the cutting machine all that often, so I always forget how to set up my designs to get the best cuts. One tip is to be sure that you reduce the cutting points in your image in the design part of the project as much as possible to prevent the blade from ripping up the fabric and ruining the final piece.

I didn’t do that at first and cuts for round and pointed shapes were chopped up. After I reduced the number of cutting points on detailed shapes, the blade cut very well and I am very happy with it.

THere are a number of different blades but not a lot of specific information on how to use them for cutting specific materials. A lot of materials just require experimentation. It would be nice if Silhouette would publish a PDF with a clear description of different types of materials and the blades and cut settings used to cut them.

Silhouette Studio will tell you that a blade will not cut a listed material, but it does not tell you which blade to actually use. Silhouette should make things easy for users. I am also still waiting for the rest of the Cameo 4 blades to become available, no specific date yet so I do not know when I might be able to use the Cameo 4 for the purpose for which I bought it.

Hopefully this will all get sorted out by the end of the year. Communication with customers keeps them loyal, uncertainty has them looking for alternatives. Clear information on how to cut specific materials that are widely available would make things easier for customers.

A lack of information may have customers looking for alternatives. I really like the Cameo 4, it would just be nice to use it for cutting the new materials as outlined in the advertisements.

I have not used the rotary blade yet. I know it’s a digital world anymore, but sometimes it is difficult to find answers for use of new items. I had not used a cutting machine of any kind prior to purchase of cameo 4.

I was going to purchase the 3 but decided I wanted to go for 4 because of kraft blade and its ability to cut cork and heavier material. That is the blade I am waiting on. Unfortunately it will be a while longer, so I am working to conquer the parts I have.

I tried cardstock with my auto blade but not so much success. I googled for info and what I found did not help. Most of what is on internet is for 3 or older. and usually not informing of blade used.

So I guess I would like more info. Also what all can I cut with rotary blade. What I have done with my cameo 4 I pretty much love. I just want to be an exoert right away. When I look at info from people explaining how they do a certain project then try myself I cannot find same info on silhouette studio.

Very satisfied with this purchase I absolutely love it. I am confused as to where to find the purchase of the digital content as I believe I purchased the upgraded version which would be the business edition however never received anything confirming this purchase? Otherwise highly recommend this is an amazing machine and truly ups the game.

Very quick shipping time, everything was in the box and there was no damage! I do however wish that with bundles like this the vinyl could be labeled. I wasn’t sure what was HTV and what was standard application vinyl, I had to look up the names of each to figure out what they were.

All I’m saying is some little stick on each package distinguishing the different products would have been nice. Other than that, the cutter is phenomenal and worked right away no problems at all. Highly recommend the Cameo 4 especially with a bundle, and I highly recommend purchasing through Swing Design for the best value and quality products.

I have 2 of the older cameos and thought this Cameo3 would be a great upgrade. well it’s not! One day it will print and cut like a charm and the next morning it cannot register any registration marks.

Last night after powering it and off and rebooting my pc several times (2 hours of agony), in an attempt to get it working, I gave up and busted out my old machine and in 3 hours had done 30 shirts (print and cut and regular vinyl).

I wont be plugging in the Cameo3 again, because my great-niece told me last night, “Auntie do not let this stupid machine take all your good patience away, this pink thing is so dumb, don’t let it Auntie, uh huh!” She’s 5.

So I took her advice and put the pink stupid one in the closet. haha.

Right out of the box the Cameo surpassed my expectations. I would recommend the Cameo to anyone that wants an affordable and beginner level vinyl and paper cutter. I would also recommend updating the software and firmware before attempting your first cut.

It definitely needs it and the moment I did it worked perfectly. The silhouette America website has easy to follow directions and I had everything done and tested in a little more than a half hour! Great buy! Also, there are tons of resources available on this model and for using the software.

Dont be intimidated and start simple!!.

I bought this machine because I do a lot of arts and crafts and thought it would save me time with the cutting. Well, when it actually does its job it does it wonderfully, however, it is a MOODY machine as it doesn’t always perform to good standards.

It fails to recognize the registration marks and it is stubborn when that happens. Literally, I have wasted 1 1/2 hours trying to cut 5 pages of stickers. It is a machine, so don’t get excited that in the beginning it performs admirably because soon it will behave just like any machine.

It will not save you time in the end. I regret spending $300 and change on this item. Go for the cheaper one if you want to try it out.

Generally disappointed with this cutting machine. First a caveat: I have been using a Cricut Explore Air 2 for quite some time and do most of my design work in Inkscape. Many of the comments I make are somewhat comparative.

(I bought the Cameo partly because I was peeved at Cricut trying to change its upload limits. ) Most of what I design is cardstock based, with some limited use of htv and vinyl. Much of what I do is 3D design, so a different set if requirements than those for HTV or vinyl or sticker designs.

Pros: It is faster on many cuts (especially with cutting cardstock scorelines. ) The Studio Designer Edition (extra $$) is more robust than Design Space. The pen adapters work very nicely. Cons: 1: VERY NOISY compared to the Cricut.

2. The workflow is a lot messier than with the Cricut, 3. DECEPTIVE descriptions: The additional force applied is almost totally useless for many materials, even with the deep cut blade. Using the deep cut blade with high force will probably destroy the Cameo.

I was unable to cut anything heavier than thin chipboard without a LOT of shenanigans with the cuts, multiple blade depth adjustments, etc. Had I known this, I would NOT have wasted my money on this cutter.

4. The print/cut feature has a rather large margin of error (1/16th inch). Not unsurmountable, but can be a pain. 5. The print/cut process is finicky and difficult to master. 6. Scanning with the pixscan mat is not possible without a large format scanner (even with TWAIN) 7.

The blades are expensive and not amenable to simple blade replacement without replacing the entire unit. This is wasteful and expensive. 8. Expensive mats. I think if I had it to do all over again, I would not spend my money on the Cameo 4.

It just has too many deficiencies. If I had watched more videos, I might have realized that it had issues (many of them have to deal with troubleshooting problems — which says a lot). I think that I would probably have been less critical had I not worked previously with the Explore Air 2, and it may well be that someone starting out with a Cameo 4 and the software without any previous experience would be comfortable with it.

At the same time, the Cameo 4 is far from intuitive to use. I’m not really loving writing a less than glowing review, but do think that folks who have needs similar to mine should go into this eyes open.

Ordered Saturday and it arrived the following Friday. Quick shipping with alerts to let me know the progress. I also purchased the Business Edition Software and that was quickly delivered online as well and at a great price! I’m having a bit of trouble cutting card stock and will probably continue to use my Cricut Maker for that but I’ve created a number of vinyl projects no problem.

I did need to make some adjustments to the standard settings however. I also prefer the Silhouette weeding tool to the ones I have by Cricut. Overall, I’m pleased with the purchase and would definitely recommend Swing Design as a great place to purchase from.

I purchased through swing after thorough research on this machine. I love that they bundle the product and it was the most reasonable. Communication from swing design was excellent. They informed me every step of the process.

I have owned 2 cutters in the past. The wishblade and the eclips. This was easy peasy set up with flawless cutting. Michaels customer service was fantastic. My sales rep was Maria in the Cambridge MA store and she was fabulous! No they don’t put returns back on the shelf.

They send them back to the manufacturer who gives them full credit. My machine was spanky brand new and everything worked right out of the box. You need to know how to use a computer, download files and have a basic understanding of how software works.

I followed the online videos and had my machine going in about 20-30 minutes. Don’t do it with out first following the directions online. I will learn the basics then try the more complicated. The noise is not whisper quiet but maybe a bit louder than a noisey printer? Its a tad bit quieter tham my Eclips and doesn’t bother me at all.

Get this machine at Michaels! They are great with customer service and if the machine doesn’t work return it for a free refund but save that receipt. Hope this helps!.

Cameo 4 pro owner here. I have so far had the best and Worst customer service experience. Until the moment they got my machine (nearly 2 months after me ruining close to 50’ of vinyl and testing my butt off thinking it was me).

I was told if i “deposited” $500ish theyd send me a new machine before they received my machine. I dont have that much after spending $100s of vinyl and subscriptions to their MONEY GRAB company. They get my machine and tell me it will be 2-4 weeks before they either fix my machine or send a new one and REFUSE to just send me a new one.

Dont waste your time or money with this company. SVG files shouldnt cost money. Trust me you can create your own files or find free ones on the Internet with a little bit of effort. Also subscribing to their club is pointless because the amount of money you spend would pay for the “free gifts “that you receive as being part of the club.

Fonts are available on several websites 100% free for personal use. Please dont waste your money.

This is my second Cameo. I bought the 4 as an upgrade from my original Cameo for paper crafting and the occasional vinyl project. The 4 is a complete frustration. It cuts poorly. Maybe it’s the new auto blades.

Maybe it’s the machine. Whether using the auto cut or the manual cut options (where you select the depth, speed and multicut options), the machine will not give me a through and through cut. With a new blade, I can send a cut file 4 or more times (usually more!!) increasing the depth each time and the machine will not cut through card stock.

In most cases the back of the card stock is barely scored or not scored at all after many cuts. I’m wasting hours and paper recutting and then hand cutting with an exacto knife. This was an expensive purchase.

I don’t understand how the 4th generation can be less reliable than the 1st. I cannot recommend this machine.

Just what I needed for my silhouette cameo 3 vinyl cutter. Blade was easy to install and cut smooth. I checked online for nearby stores that carried it. 3 stores close by had it available. I am very happy with my purchase.

the order was processed and mailed out so quickly. I received it in record time!! Plus the prices were among the cheapest for the silhouette blades. The Siser iron-on vinyl colors shown matched actual product.

Silhouette blades are awesome. Mine last a long time and they are affordable! The blades for the cameo 3 are often interchangeable with previous Silhouette models.

I am still getting used to my new machine. I had a Cameo 1 but had to update when Windows 10 did an automatic update and my old machine would not work with my computer anymore as Silhouette is no longer supporting it.

So, I got the new one. So far I really like it. I have only used the auto blade that it came with so I don’t know about the other blades or the extra pressure the machine is able to cut at when other blades and materials are used.

I do wish there was better information on where to get help and tutorials that are available.

I’m so happy with my first purchase from SwingDesign. I purchased a Silhouette Cameo 4 and some accessories. All arrived pretty quickly and in great shape. I’m having fun learning how to use my Cameo – it’s quite different from the Cricut Explore I’m used to, but it’s great.

Silhouette provides lots of resources, and the goodies that SwingDesign added (such as a free month of SilhouetteU) are very valuable to me. You have a new, loyal customer!.

I’ve had this machine for a while and I’m not an avid user but, when I do attempt to use it I can NEVER get the registration marks to REGISTER. This is the only reason I don’t use it more regularly. I have no problem with creating my designs but what should take minimal effort to do leaves me very frustrated.

I have spent all afternoon into the evening watching ALL of the Youtube videos, even resetting everything to no avail just to be angry because nothing seems to work. I have put the light over the registration marks, manually set the cutter over the registration marks, scratched the registration marks, pulled the cover slightly over, and added the light to specifically shine on the registration marks, set and reset ALL WITH NO SUCCESS!!! This is the worst business decision I’ve made by far a total waste of money!!! I wish I could give it negative stars.

The silhouette ratchet blade saved my project! I had been having issues with the cameo 4 auto blade but once I popped in the good ol reliable ratchet blade my project was a success! I even bought extra.

I hope Michaels continues to carry these.

I have the original Silhouette Cameo so this is the blade to use! It’s hard finding them, so when I saw this on Joann’s website I snatched it up! I hope they continue to sell these blades because they are great.

I did own the previous version of CAMEO Electronic Cutting Tool which was good. But this new one is way better and much user friendly. Easy to load the cutting medium and accepts a variety too. The only downside I see is that it only supports.

DXF file format to be imported, the only way to have your custom designs. Would be great if they could upgrade the software to accept more vector file types such as. ai If you are doing a whole bunch of cutouts (lets say you are making gift boxes for xmas) I would recommend to buy additional mats.

It would be pretty much very time consuming to pull out the leftover cut outs. This way you could load new mats and let it cut while you pull the paper out of the finished ones. Keep creative people :D.

I was hesitant when making this purchase because so many reviews that it did not fit the silhouette 3. It fits mine perfectly!! Great bag. My only negative would be that I wish it was zipper closure instead of Velcro closure.

I use the Silhouette cutting mat with my Cameo 4 machine. Using any other mat will void the warranty on your machine, so it’s not worth it, in my opinion, to use any other mat. That said, this mat is great.

Flexible, but firm. Thin, but not flimsy. The tack is just right. I craft daily, so my mat gets a ton of use, but still lasts for many months. Highly recommend.

I love the Silhouette cutting machines and have been using them for over 10 years! I just added a second crafting area to my craft room placing my old Portrait Silhouette cutter at that station then had to buy new mats for it and they work great for my projects! I love the standard tack it works great for lots of various papers! Crafting on and on and loving it!.

These are a necessity for using the Silhouette and I use mine all the time, so I use these mats all the time. There are some pretenders on the market, so be sure to get only the Silhouette brand for best results.

Each mat lasts through many, many cuts so you don’t need a lot of them. I keep a half dozen or so in my stash at all times – in different stages of use.

Done a lot of research to prepare for using different kinds of vinyl and tools to help with preparing for my 1st vinyl project. I already have a cricut, but didn’t have the supplies to go with it and the “Silhouette America Inc Vinyl Starter Kit” was perfect.

It gives you a couple tools, different pieces of vinyl, contact paper and more! More than worth buying if trying a project that uses vinyl. Also includes a DVD tutorial which is very helpful also!.

Includes great tools and a good supply of vinyl and transfer paper. Except for the black and white vinyl, the green and pink are kind of an odd choice and don’t go with anything I would decorate. The DVD is a waste of time.

Still a good deal for the tools, transfer paper and what vinyl I will use.

Its a good price but I didnt get a lot of Normalcolors and only four of the sheets of nylon I was adhesive I would not recommend this for anyone else. Good now you know if you have a silhouette machine or a sticker magic maker.

On Valentine’s Day 2016, my fiance purchased a Silhouette Cameo and I realized that I needed more than just the machine! So I went on a search for Tools. I found these tools and they have been a life saver when it comes down to working with vinyl.

Especially when you have a few projects to do at the same time! I use these every time I work! I will definitely recommend this product to my friends, family and co-workers. I actually have recommended this already to a few co-workers a few times since I purchased this product.

This kit has everything I need (and more) to work on a daily basis with my Silhouette cutter for vinyl, heat transfer, and paper crafts. Very versatile. Much better as a kit than buying the separate parts individually.

I have a couple of these kits because you can never have too many scrapers, spatulas, rulers, or hook tools.

This pick up pen is useless. The tack doesn’t hold shape and is poor quality. I bought the pen because they didn’t have the katana I wanted. I regret this purchase immensely

I Love this stuff. I prefer this softer alternative to the plastic-like heat transfer vinyl. I think it’s easy to use and it doesn’t accidently melt like the other vinyl if you happen to heat it a little too long.

I think this is easier to use and more user friendly and beginner friendly. It takes a little longer to apply in my opinion but it lasts longer. I wish they would stock the black more often but I figure that is a Joann issue, not an issue with the product.

Will continue to repurchase again and again. No complaints and love the silhouette brand of heat transfer vinyl over the cricut brand.

This heat transfer is amazing. Cuts really nice and it’s super easy to heat press. It last even after a few washing )with proper washing).

The silhouette transfer was simple to use, even for a newbie like myself! So far, so good. I’m glad I tried it.

Absolutely love this company, when i got the cameo it would not turn on, so i messaged them, and they put another one in mail the same day and sent me prepaid return label. when the new one came in, it worked perfectly and we love it, and they sent extra goodies with it.

Ordered the new Cameo 4 in black, it is fantastic! I’ve been wanting to upgrade from the original Portrait, and boy am I glad I did. Bluetooth enabled, no cords to get in my way, 12 inch cut space as compared to 9 inches on the Portrait.

where have I been? Swing Design delivered my item promptly and with some extra goodies, I will definitely save all my Silhouette purchases for them!.
