20 Best Silent Mouse For Gaming (2023 Updated)

Well first off, it’s a decent looking mouse, with plenty of buttons and some basic customisation. But here’s what I really don’t like about it, the scroll wheel is awful. It’s so lose that it makes it hard to accurately switch weapons in game, it also constantly rattles and the whole mouse makes way too much noise when lifting and placing it down.

The gliders on the bottom are pretty average too and the mouse often feels like it’s gripping the pad too much. What I also don’t like about it is that as soon as one side of the mouse slightly lifts off the mousepad it stops tracking entirely and I’ve been having issues where it’ll randomly start tracking weirdly and make the camera go all over the place briefly.

Another issue I have with this mouse is it’s shape, I thought it’d be comfy and grippy but the right edge is just a flat bit of rubber that doesn’t feel tapered enough to get a comfortable grip on it, and the left side is covered in awkwardly placed buttons, the thumb rest is also rather awkward in my opinion.

The cable certainly isn’t really on par with other brands either. All round my impression of this mouse is that it’s overpriced, loud and too clunky for playing most competitive fps game. I bought it because of all the great reviews but honestly I am thoroughly disappointed.

This is just my honest review and I am genuinely baffled as to why people like this thing. If you’re considering buying this I’d urge you to look elsewhere because you can get much better mice for the similar prices.

I recently purchased another G502 for my girlfriend. I’ve personally been using a G502 for years and have no trouble recommending it. It’s been very durable, and even after heavy use, there’s been minimal general surface wear.

The scroll wheel has slightly lost its finish, but I don’t see this as a major issue. The shape is always a matter of personal preference, but I really like the 502’s form factor. The thumb shelf is something that I’ve become very accustom to, and left/right buttons are in a great position for someone with slightly longer fingers.

It’s pretty gimmicky, but I guess the customizable weight is a nice touch. The Logitech software is a little annoying to deal with, but it gets the job done. I’m far from a connoisseur, but the actual switches that are used for the left and right mouse buttons are very crisp, definitely some of the best out of those that I’ve tested.

Another awesome feature is the toggle-able infinity scroll. With one button, the scroll wheel “unlocks” from the normal tactile bumps and spins freely. This is great for spreadsheets or just getting to the bottom of a browser page quickly.

The epic gamer “sniper” button is a big gimmick that I never use, but I guess if you want the option to lower your DPI on the fly, it’s there. Finally, the actual sensor seems to be very high quality.

Again, not a connoisseur, but I have found the mouse to be very precise and responsive. Overall, for the price, I really think it’s hard to beat,.

The different settings/preselects is fine. You have everything from as slow as slug, all the way to a twitchy flicky movement. To access, you just press on the button below the scroll free/step button.

To modify some of them, you can press the buttons on the left mouse button, and it will increase or decrease the sensitivity. The right and left mouse buttons are pretty responsive with a satisfying click.

The buttons are programmable, and the back and forward button on the left side of the mouse work natively. Meaning easier to navigate the web. The Aim button is pretty decent, being able to quickly slow down the cursor and be able to pinpoint your shots.

Regardless of your DPI, it will bring it to a crawl and force it to one bar. My only dislike is the lighting honestly. I feel like it’s pretty lackluster, and would have been better to remove it entirely.

It’s only the G that lights up, and it does change colour depending on the DPI preset. Only way to adjust colour is through their app, and downloading one app to do all that and customization feels like it is too much.

If they had support for third party, I would greatly admire it for being able to match the colour scheme of my build and set up. For the price though and what you get out of it, I honestly can’t say too many bad things about it.

If you have an old mouse, and were looking to get something to replace, I would highly recommend this for the price.

Let me start by saying that I’ve used a lot of gaming mice, like, over 50 of them. The Logitech g502 was always a quality mouse and tons of people love the thing just based on the design and overall quality of the mouse; That being said, there are a few things to consider if you’re thinking about getting this one in particular.

The Pros of this mouse are fairly straightforward, and are as follows: – Comfortable shape for most right handed people, but should be more comfortable for people with medium to large size hands. – Good build quality which easily places it in the same category as other ‘premium’ around this price point or even a bit higher.

– Scroll wheel: this is one of my personal favorite features of the mouse. Allows infinite scroll to get through annoying EULA pages quicker and also quickly raise or lower volume on YouTube or other video streaming sites, but without sacrificing the much needed precision of the standard mouse wheel steps.

Feels satisfying to use, but it is made of metal, which leads to a negative I’ll be mentioning later on. – Sensor: The Logitech Hero sensor has been tested numerous times and found to be roughly on par with the PMW3360 series sensors (including the 3366 on the original g502) while being advantageous for usage in wireless mice due to the lessened draw of power which allows for a longer battery life.

The Cons of this mouse make it hard to recommend to everyone, and are why I don’t usually recommend it as a first choice. -Weight: My god. This thing is one of the heaviest mice I’ve used for an extended period of time.

I don’t know exactly how much this weighs, but it feels pretty similar to the original, which I believe weighed in a little over 130 grams. Most gaming mice target a weight of 100g or LIGHTER, since lowering the weight of the mouse will make extended use easier and will allow for a greater degree of control.

– Not a truly “safe” shape, this may or may not matter to you, but I felt that it’s worth mentioning. Obviously this is a mouse for right handed people, and it may not necessarily be a great fit for you if your hands are very small (I have very small hands and cannot reach the sniper button at all, but the mouse is still comfortable).

I would say it’s a top tier mouse, but only if you can look past the weight. I would recommend that, as always, if you have the ability to do so, you should go to a local store and try some of the mice out to see which feels best to you, and make your decision after you have an idea what type of mouse shape you want.

I won’t recommend that you do or don’t buy a product, so I’ll leave it at that.

Pros: Clean, simple design. Great entry-level option for someone who doesn’t necessarily need an expensive mechanical keyboard, and a nice addition to your setup if you already have other Logitech peripherals.

Seamless integration into your setup with the Logitech G Hub, if you already have Logitech stuff. Otherwise it’s very easy to set up. Lighting effects and customisation is very good for a keyboard of this price.

Cons: Slightly overpriced in regular circumstances for an all-plastic, non-mechanical keyboard.

I came to the G502 from a Rapoo V900, and prior to that a Gigabyte Aivia Krypton mouse. I had had a long, solid experience with Logitech mice, but was ready for a change and Logitech were slow(er) than others to release a new slew of rodents based around the high-DPI laser sensor I enjoy.

While initially adjusting the grip position was slightly awkward, due to a wider ‘abdomen’ than on my previous mice – and buttons pitched further forward, I settled in after a couple of days’ worth of extended sessions and was soon praising the mouse for it’s excellent design.

I am a big fan of thumb glides, and the one on the 502 is just the right size and at just the right height to not induce fatigue due to excess pressure, but hold the thumb well and prevent slippage. The main buttons are huge and responsive, although I do find I need to inch my fingers forward just a teeny bit from ‘natural’ fall to get best response.

I can take or leave the shoulder buttons, the DPI adjust set are mushy and a bit light, the thumb ones require a little too precise locating initially, but work well after your hand adjusts to the positioning a bit more.

The wheel is good. It’s slightly weighted, ratchets well and free-wheels just as well as other Logitech mice. The weights are small enough to not reallymatter, and I’m not a huge fan of the magnetic latch to cover the weight bay – the ‘drawer’ arrangement on older Logitech rodents was more sturdy.

I picked up this mouse with a matching Logitech G-series cloth mat, and LGS has pre-defined profiles for cloth, hard and generic surfaces. While the ‘cloth’ profile worked well initially, I soon found the mouse skipping or dramatically losing sensitivity mid-game.

Switching away from the pre-baked Logitech profiles fixed this, and the mouse has tracked perfectly since. Your mileage may vary, of course. Overall despite the initial harsh looks and learning curve, the G502 has proven itself a sold performer and comfortable after the honeymoon period.

For the price, it is excellent value.

No issues. Feels good to use. Clicks feel good. The wire is a nice and never feels like it pushes the mouse or otherwise gets in the way. Sensitivity buttons are sufficient for me. I have not used the Razer Synapse software and it works just fine when used like any other mouse.

For context, I don’t like to spend too much money on gaming mice as up until the Mamba Elite I have used the cheaper but effective Red Dragon gaming mice, no frills Logitech mice, and a Steel Series Sensei mouse some years back.

I purchased this mouse on sale for $30 and at that price point I would absolutely recommend this to any avid PC gamer. Based on my experience so far, I think the 5/19/2022 price of $50 seems reasonable as well.

I have yet to encounter any issue using this mouse in games or for work or general use. The mouse performed well in games such as CSGO, Age of Empires 2, Death Stranding, Hades, Horizon Zero Dawn, and Golf with Friends.

The biggest, most pleasant surprise to me with this mouse is the faster mouse scrolling when you push the mouse wheel to the left or right (instead of just rolling the mouse wheel like with any mouse, which also works fine for this mouse).

This wasn’t a feature I was looking for, however I found that it makes any scrolling smoother and easier. This actually made playing a game with a more intense inventory such as Death Stranding quite a bit easier at times.

If I had to mention a negative issue, I would say that after I wash my hand and then immediately use the mouse, there is a sort of slight condensation that builds up on the mouse. I had this same problem with a Red Dragon mouse and it’s not much of an issue to me.

This is my second Mamba Razer. I bought another one a couple of years ago that is going strong, and I bought this one for a new computer I’m building. It has really impressive RGB lighting and if you download free Razer software, you can totally customize it to whatever color, and strobe light effect you want.

My only criticism of it, is without it, the mouse is SUPER sensitive, actually to the point that I had to substitute it out with a regular one for my work computer, since I don’t have access to download to the software to adjust the sensitivity on it.

I don’t game, but if you do and need something ultra fast and sensitive, this is it for you. I really like the way the house feels and it grips easy and looks amazing. I would buy again.

My hand sits right on the line of a small/normal hand. If you prefer claw grip, this is a great one. If you do have small hands, this may not be the mouse for you. Definetly not a fingertip style use for my hand range.

Since I do prefer claw the mouse is basically as good as the Death Adder v2 but its slightly wider. But this one has a tilt feature on scroll wheel were the Death Adder doesnt. Plus the RGB light. Its definetly a right handed mouse.

In terms of DPI it has an excellent range to 16000. And its been smooth. I tend to play RTS games like Total War series and this mouse has been fantastic. I paired it with a Razer Huntsmen TKL keyboard.

If its a money crunch. The Death Adder V2 is more than sufficient and close to being the same mouse and usually a tad cheaper (keep eyes on sale here) But if that tilt or RGB lights on side is what you want.

This is a good mouse.

Bought one a year and a half ago after about a month the left click started having issues and is incredibly picky about where and how hard I press it to get hold actions. Tried to contact razer for support on sending it in under warranty all I got was a massive litany of things to try half of which I had already tried, the only thing that helped though it was only temporary was to uninstall razers bloatware.

I’ve had decent experiences with their keyboards but their mice are built like crap, I should’ve listened to my friends but it was the best deal at the time for a wireless mouse meant for gaming. I think I’ll stick to Logitech, Corsair and Steel series from now on.

The Razer Mamba Wireless is an excellent mice for anyone looking to pick one up. Minor problems here and there do bring it down to four stars, however, I believe this is still a very good mice for anyone looking for an wireless accurate mice.

Unboxing was standard Razer boxing. Green and black, “For Gamers, By Gamers. ” Came with some stickers and a charger. Unfortunately, Razer still uses micro USB ports instead of the often standard USB C, so plugging it in is a pain.

They do have a very unhelpful “TOP” engraved onto the top of the port. This mouse, though marketed as a gaming mouse, looks very professional. It fits very comfortable in the hands and the Razer Chroma is a nice touch.

Though, I will say, the Razer software that you download to customize it (Razer Synapse 3) is very buggy and some things simply don’t work as they should. [also, ambient awareness is just. urgh. ] Battery life is about 8-10 hours with Razer Chroma on.

What’s nice about this is that you can plug in the micro USB to your mouse and use it wired as it charges via your computer’s USB port. This mice does come with “Hypershift. ” Not going to explain it too much but basically when you activate it you can have 7 different other buttons (left click, right click, dpi up, etc.

) to use. Comes VERY useful in games that when you need to do a quick frag you can do it in an automatic click. Overall, it is a good mice with no visible latency and and good build quality. Recommend to anyone.

Honestly, so far, the best ambidextrous/left-handed mouse I’ve used in years. I’ve gone through Razer mice, and found both that the thumb buttons weren’t quite in the right place for me, making them difficult to actually use in game, and lately, I have to say their quality/durability has fallen off.

First Razer mouse I used, an original copperhead, is actually still functional but very worn and looks it. Last Razer mouse, Orochi, lasted less than 2 months before a main button stopped working. After that, tried EVGA, just because the price was amazing.

I got 2 Torx 3X Laser mice. Same problem with thumb button, needed to somewhat turn mouse to use thumb buttons, making them less than convenient and undependable in game. Also, very quickly, inside of 2 months, the rubber on the mouse wheel loosened, making the wheel close to completely non-functional.

Also, for my hand, somewhat small, the whole mouse seemed somewhat long and flat. I then tried the logitech G300 mouse, but found the mouse a strange shape, very high, with the left and right buttons ‘grooved’ so low it was impossible to hit those buttons and the middle mouse button/wheel at the same time, which I do for some games.

I also could not use the ‘thumb’ buttons and right mouse button at the same time, as the ‘thumb’ buttons faced straight up and were designed to be pressed by the same finger that pressed the right mouse button – index finger in my case as I’m left-handed.

Again, I use that combination of thumb and right mouse button in some games, so the Logitech mouse was a no-go for games. Finally I tried this mouse, the SteelSeries Sensei 310 Gaming Mouse. It feels so good, just perfect in my hand.

the thumb buttons are in the right place to use w/o twisting the mouse, and I may even be able to use the 2 buttons on the other side. As I am not pressing them accidently, I think I can leave them active and use them, a first for an ambidextrous mouse in my experience.

The materials feel good, the switches seem solid so far, and the software is great once you get used to it. It even has a cloud feature, so I can keep the settings the same for the mouse I use /w my laptop, and the one I use /w my desktop.

The only other mouse I’d consider is the second newest Logitech wired/wireless one, G900, (I don’t need Lightspeed charging of G903), but the G900 Still costs over $100, more than 2x the cost of the Sensei 310.

Again, for me, so far, 2 months in, this is best ambidextrous/left-handed mouse I’ve ever used – just great design overall.

Comfortable, reliable, and affordable. These build quality is durable plastic a grippy, no slip feel. You won’t gave to worry about this accidentally slipping out of your hand anytime soon. You’ll find on the sides along with the 4 programable buttons rubber grips to continue with the ‘non-slip’ approach.

The sensor tracking is phenomenal. There is no skipping which allows for smooth movement. Overall, it is a fantastic mouse for the price. TRULY worth every dollar and MORE!.

I’ve gone through two of these mice in two years, and both times they developed a problem with the mouse button switch. The first time the button got sticky, and could only be actuated through high force.

The second time the mouse began double clicking, ghost clicking, and couldn’t click/drag files normally. Razer support has been helpful, but ultimately there is a flaw in their product’s quality. If I knew how to solder, I would open up the mouse and install my own mechanical switches, because I do like the mouse in almost every other way.

It’s ergonomically adequate, has a nice feeling material, and has the sensitivity/precision that I like. I just wish it was built better and lasted longer.

Great gaming mouse. As a gamer you want to have a good mouse and keyboard. From experience this mouse is amazing. It has good battery life and up to 16000 DPI. It is easy to connect with the wireless chip and easy to charge with the charger that comes with it.

One of the coolest thing about the mouse is that it have multiple L. E. D colors. If you download the Razer app on a P. C you can customize the L. E. D to any color you want. If you want to be a great gamer or just use it as a regular mouse this is what your looking for.

It used to be a great mouse, until a month in when I started getting the infamous “click-and-drag” dropping issue. (Many reviews concede that clicking and dragging something will result in significant glitching.

) I do MS Office work for grad school, no KBM gaming, so this was not wear and tear; it’s a common manufacturer’s issue for this mouse. Disappointed in such a massive problem for the price, but otherwise it’s good quality.

Razer needs to amend the issue at their factory or QC/QA.

I love my razer lancehead wired mouse! It is wired so you get no input lag, which is great for gaming. The rgb is nice, through the app you can change the colors of the mouse. It is ambidextrous and very ergonomic.

It has two side buttons on each side of the mouse which makes for good macros. I highly recommend this mouse for any use.

Pros: My favourite feature is the 450 Inches per second (IPS) 50G acceleration, even though the mouse is 2-3 years old yet it still as powerful as the recent Logitech G Pro wireless mouse which offers 400 IPS and other similar features like Razor TE other key features are: Customisable Dpi upto16,000 Enhanced rubber design grip for maximum comfort, designed in a way to also be usable for left handed users, up-to 1000Hz polling refresh rate and onboard cloud storage to keep your customised settings backed up whether its colour, profile or dpi settings.

Cons: The weight, its 104 gram, its unnoticeable if you increase your mouse dpi through razor synapse. Competitor Logitech G Pro wireless mouse has all similar features except the 400 IPS which is -50 vs razor wired mouse but in weight its 80 gram, so both sides are balanced, now its your choice if you prefer wired or wireless, hope this was helpful ‘_-.

The Razer Lancehead is a amazing gaming mouse. The weight is perfect and easy to move around,it doesn’t slide around accidentally though. I use palm and claw grip on this,palm grip feels surprisingly good considering the shape and length of the mouse.

Claw grip feels amazing,it feels like this mouse was meant for claw grip. Overall one of the best mice I have ever owned.

So far it’s working great, feels great, smooth movement, definitely a huge upgrade from my previous generic cyberpower mouse, and not just for looks. The DPI (and related mouse speed/sensitivity) goes to incredibly high numbers.

Even though I’m a gamer I still don’t really go beyond 1000-1300 dpi. But that’s just me getting old. You can custom configure the quick-button dpi steps. as in you can set it to 500,600,700, or 500,1000,2000, or whatever you want.

like 7 steps i think? The color patterns are nice but nothing crazy, I liked the cycling “breathing” since the rainbow “cascade” was too fast for my taste and I didn’t want to bother with installing custom stuff.

You can also remap the mouse keys very easily to whatever keyboard key you want with the native app for the mouse settings. I rate the value as high since I got it during christmas discounts at circa 55 bucks.

Comfortable lightweight mouse with beautiful RGB, I have it on the wave (rainbow) light setting and it is beautiful. I wish it was a bit bigger as I like to palm my mouse but that is a different model (deathadder) however the deathadder does not have the cool RGB.

If you prefer a heavier mouse this is not the mouse for you. My next upgrade is a wireless mouse but this one is still going strong after nearly 2 years. Overall excellent mouse with beautiful RGB that has longevity.

I would give 5 stars if this was less confusing to set up! I still haven’t figured out how to use the ‘profiles’ and have it set to a single static color to match my backlit keyboard. It’s a nice mouse, rechargeable, comfortable, feather-touch buttons, looks, and just works really well for what it’s supposed to do, but it is overcomplicated in so many other ways.

Definitely not worth what I paid for it because I am not even able to use all the available features. I’m pretty tech savvy but this thing has me beat. I’m sure there are a lot of gamers out there that are laughing at this review, maybe some are even mad at what I’m saying, but I’m not a gamer, I wanted a nice, wireless mouse that lit up and changed color, but one that I could actually figure out how to use.

This mouse is WAY beyond the needs of the ‘average Joe’, so be aware of that before purchase. if you’re not heavily into gaming, this mouse will be beyond most average persons comprehension, which is a shame, it really did NOT need to be so complex just to switch colors.

I am selecting ‘yes’ for ‘would I recommend this item’, but that is for gamers. I would NOT recommend this item for the average person who is not into the gaming scene. stick with a normal wireless mouse and call it a day.

Packaging: Is it suitable? The packaging is quite robust and holds the mouse still so that it can’t damage itself. The outer box is quite thin but covers a much thicker stronger cardboard inner to protect it from knocks and bangs.

Inside the box the mouse is in a plastic surround which protects it from wet or damp environments. Overall the packaging serve the purpose of protecting the mouse well, and should be resilient enough to prevent any damage whether it is being transported in your shopping or whether it is being sent to you from a online store via a carrier or the mail service.

How it looks? The packaging is quite attractive and shows the product on the box, the text on the box is very clear and easy to read. It is easy to tell if the mouse is appropriate for you by reading the technical specification printed on the side of the box, and it makes clear what operating systems the mouse is designed work with as well as the fact that an internet connection is required to download the additional software.

Overall the box is designed very well and should be able to make it clear to the customer if the product is appropriate to them. Installation: How easy to install and setup? The mouse will work as plug and play however not all of the feature are available until you download the additional software, the mouse is also extremely sensitive when it is plugged in for the first time which could make it difficult for people who have not used a product like this before to operate and complete the set up with the new software.

Once the software is installed setting up the mouse is very easy and can be tailored to your individual tastes and needs, this is very useful as the mouse is able to be setup with multiple profiles for each game or piece of software you want to us it on.

This makes the mouse very versatile and means you can have the mouse very sensitive in one game but much less sensitive and less responsive in other games. There is plenty of wire provided with the mouse meaning it should easily be able to be plugged into most gaming rigs without needing additional hardware to make the mouse cable longer.

The cable is surrounded by braiding which helps to protect the cable meaning the wire is protected from rubbing through and breaking when it is trailed over the edge of the desk. Performance: How well does it perform? The mouse performs many tasks very well, it is an ideal mouse for both a single use PC or a family PC which has to perform many different tasks as long as a profile for each piece of software that is required to perform the task is setup prior to attempting to use the mouse for the task, this is because the software which operates the mouse automatically changes the active profile when each bit of software loads or is in the active window.

I found the Wheel mode shift for the central mouse wheel extremely useful as it allows for precise slow scrolling when needed and at a push of a button hyperfast scrolling for when you don’t need to be so careful scrolling.

This is useful as it means you can for example fast scroll through a long document then at the push of a button scroll more precisely when you get close to where you were reading or an area which needs editing.

This feature is also useful in game when the scroll wheel is used for multiple applications in the game such as both used for zoom on one screen and menu scrolling on a different screen. Are There Any Problems/Faults? The only problem I encountered with this mouse is the limited number of premade set up profiles available for different pieces of software meaning you have to be technically competent to set up the profiles yourself, although I am capable of doing this I can see this becoming a problem for users who are not particularly technically competent.

This however is likely to change in time as other users are able to upload their mouse setup profiles for people to download. The mouse certainly requires a mouse mat or pad as I found the optical sensor did get confused it you tried to use the mouse a slippery or shiny surface, which can make it difficult to use if there is no mouse mat present.

Ease Of Use: Is it easy to use? The ability to set the weight and balance of the mouse is always a bonus when using gaming equipment and this is the best design method I have seen so far, many of the gaming mice I have used before that have had this option required unscrewing to set the balance and weight, however with this being held closed magnetically it make it much easier to change as required as some games require a mouse to be balanced differently.

The ability to set the weight of the mouse also means you can set it up so that if you accidentally knock the mouse it won’t send the cursor flying across the screen and also offers some resistance to accidental knocks.

The ability to tailor the sensitivity and responsiveness of clicking to your individual requirements makes this mouse highly versatile, each game or piece of software can be set up with sensitivity for moving the mouse and the responsiveness of clicking, It also has several buttons which can be allocated to keys on the keyboard, keyboard commands, or to carry out macros which have been recorded prior to allocating it.

This means it can be used for anything from office work to web browsing, to gaming, so far I have yet to find a job I cannot use this mouse to do. The mouse sensitivity can also be altered on the fly with the use of two buttons on the mouse this means that if you find you have the profile for the software set up incorrectly you can compensate for it and don’t have to leave whatever you are doing and alter it in the mouse software hub, this is also useful in a gaming environment where a game’s conditions can suddenly change.

Is it comfortable to hold? The mouse is very well designed and extremely comfortable to hold and use. It is a pleasure to find that the mouse is quite large unlike the recent trend in making mice smaller and smaller, this means that unlike other gaming mice it sits nicely under my hand and keeps the buttons under my fingers.

The materials used on the mouse means that if you are using it a lot it doesn’t rub against your skin and irritate it, meaning you are able to use it for long periods of time without it making your hand sore from holding it.

How It Compares: This mouse stands out from other gaming mice because it can be tailored to the individual using it so much, everything from weight and balance to programming the mouse keys makes it so attractive to use.

This is also the most comfortable gaming mouse I have used so far which makes it a pleasure to use and shows great design decisions were made. Unlike other gaming mice this one isn’t just good for gaming but for many different tasks.

Final Evaluation: I would highly recommend this mouse to anyone looking for a gaming mouse or simply a mouse that can be made to suit their requirements. Once you have the mouse set up it is extremely versatile and is suitable for all types of users.

Although the initial setup could be painful this mouse is well worth the trouble as it make up for these short comings very quickly. At first I was expecting this mouse to be a one trick pony only good for certain game style or players however after using it for a prolonged period this has taken over from my old trackball mouse as it can do all of the tasks it used to do and more besides.

Pros To summarise the pros of the mouse are: • Easy to use • Can be tailored to an individuals weight and balance • Highly versatile • Sensitivity and responsiveness of clicking can be setup differently for different pieces of software • The mouse sensitivity can also be altered on the fly with the use of two buttons on the mouse • Extremely comfortable to hold and use • Stays cools even after long periods of use or being switched on a long time • Plenty of wire • Braided cable While the cons and difficulties with the mouse are: • Extremely sensitive when it is plugged in for the first time • Requires download of additional software • Might not be intuitive to people new to gaming equipment • Limited premade mouse set up profiles.

The G502 HERO mouse seriously is a HERO, it is honestly bursting with cutting edge, state of the art features! So, where to begin?. The ergonomic design of this mouse is lovely, it feels so good in your hand, really comfortable, with all the buttons (we will discuss those in a bit) close at hand, no pun intended.

The attention to detail is great too, down to the rubberised side grips which feel very comfortable. On an older mouse I had, it came with an adjustable scroll wheel, which I gre to absolutely love, so knowing the G502 HERO had this feature too, was a massive bonus; however, they have tuned this up a notch with a metal wheel, very cool, and so smooth.

The adjustable wheel means there is a button on the top of the mouse which changes the scroll from a precision ‘click’ wheel, to a smooth infinite scroll, great for scrolling through masses of pages in a document, or large pages on a website.

The thing I love about this mouse is that, yes, it has great features for gaming, it is also great for everyday use too. Moving on to the other features; you have 11 programmable buttons, which you can set to the exact task you wish, be it in game or programming macros.

You can also use the G Hub (software) to program the mouse. Talking of the G HUB, you can use the software to program every aspect of your mouse, to customise it to exactly what you want, such as changing the DPI precision.

Now, this isnt something I thought of before, but you really do notice the difference in changing this. So basically, the mouse is capable of up to 16,000 DPI, and you can program 3 different DPI’s, and with the press of a button on the side of the mouse you can change between them; meaning you can have pin-point accuracy for the games you love, but also have lower DPI for everyday things like working on documents etc.

Other features I hadn’t thought of until having the G502 HERO, is the weights. yes, weights. in a mouse! The G502 HERO comes with 5 weights, positioned in the bottom of the mouse, so you can remove or add them at will, on the left, right, back and centre.

Its not until I started playing around with different combinations and locations of the weights that I found it really does make a difference to the movability and comfort of the whole experience of using the mouse.

I urge you to have a play around with it too! One other feature that is worth mentioning is the customisable colour of the mouse, they call it LIGHTSYNC; this enables you to use up to 16. 8 million colours to customise and sync your light colours across all other G-range products; this is all programmable in the G Hub software.

Oh, one last thing to mention, which I think can divide some people is that the mouse is WIRED, not wireless! With a gaming mouse I see this as a good thing, because the signal can travel a lot faster down a cable that it can through bluetooth or any other wireless signal; it may be a matter of opinion, but that is mine 🙂 So, rounding off, this mouse is a serious contender in the world of gaming.

So many features, so little time to mention them all. I really don’t think there is any reason to be disappointed with this mouse.
