Best Sides For Chicken Parmesan (2024 Updated)

I bought this for camping, and it’s easy to transport. The legs are VERY shaky. It’s just the design. One handle broke right off the bat, and one burner knob wallered out making it a pain to turn now.

It’s a cheap griddle, so you get what you pay for. NOW the cooking surface was fine. It did everything I needed it too. I didn’t want to spend a lot on something that was going to be taken to the lake.

I will buy something nice for my home use.

We use ours when we go camping in our camper. Perfect for a family of 4 when camping for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We love it

It’s become hard to find a supermarket grated Parmesan cheese without cellulose added. If you don’t want to eat cellulose fiber and you don’t want to grate your own Parmesan, this product is a reasonably-priced alternative.

The taste is good, the cheese works well for sprinkling on pasta and vegetables, and melts well in baked dishes.

This and the just-cheese Parmesan are great. My complaint- why I only gave 3 stars – is that they’ve been made an ‘in store only’ product even though they are shelf stable until opened. I had both shipped to my home regularly for a long time with no problems.

Unfortunately this is the case for quite a few products I use to have shipped regularly but now must buy elsewhere.

No cellulose powder, just delicious 100% grated parmesan. I have to point out that it must be refrigerated after opening. Other reviews said that said it turns brown. It won’t if you follow the instructions on the label and keep it in the fridge.

Throw it away if you’ve kept it on the shelf after it’s been opened.

It isn’t often that a product is much worse than the sum of its ingredients, but this one is. Not only does it not (unlike a couple of other vegan Parmesans) taste ANYTHING like Parmesan, it also doesn’t look or smell like it.

You would be much, much better off using plain nutritional yeast than this stuff, because the addition of walnuts and sunflower seeds to it makes it taste like. dirt. I almost never write scathing reviews of vegan products, but people need to be warned: this stuff is worthless as a Parmesan substitute.

It has more value as a B vitamin supplement, not to be used on Italian food.

I sprinkle this on air popped popcorn to add flavor, I sprinkle it on veggies. Plus it has all healthy ingredients. I have had a difficult time locating this product anywhere except Vitacost.

I actually like the original more than this. I can’t stand how this taste, it has a smoke flavor and that is about it. If you want a smoky flavor, than this works but it ruins anything else. I had some vegan bacon made with coconut that actually tastes like bacon but this does not.

Granted I have not had bacon in a million years. I wish they would offer the larger size of the garlic green flavor, it is much better.

These little portion packets of Grated Parmesan Cheese are really great. We were so happy to find this on the condiment island at a local deli that also serves pizza. These packets are always fresh and taste amazing.

This grated parmesan cheese has a great robust cheesy flavor. It’s perfect on pizza. The little portion control packets save money and reduce waste. This is a terrific product.

Much preferred over Kraft. I had Kraft parmesan cheese leftover and did a side-by-side testing of both. I was pleased with the Mama brand over Kraft. Kraft’s was too refined (highly grated), whereas Mama’s was not, and the taste of Mama’s was better.

I hope Mama’s brand remains available because if it is, I don’t intend on buying Kraft again.

High quality! Parmesan cheese is a staple in our house, and the Kraft brand was out of stock. Luckily I tried this brand and it was amazing! It tastes just like the parmesan cheese we get at the local Italian restaurant.

I am extremely impressed with this cheese. Mama Francesca premium parmesan asiago and Romano. This was my first time ever using this brand. I used it in my alfredo sauce. We make alfredo sauce on a regular basis at home and I usually use either Kraft or great value because I feel those two are very interchangeable.

I was pretty surprised when I made my alfredo sauce last night with Mama Francesca, this had actual cheesiness to it. As if I had just grated a wedge. It was very delicious. I will definitely buy again.

This is not your fancy expensive Parmesan blend of cheese but it sure does taste like one. I actually bought this from Walmart which I have started only shopping at the past two years; that was due to some of their labor and associate relations policies; which have gotten better.

I believe Stop and shop has this too. This is a great go to product in cooking in so many different meal not just for topping on spaghetti. I use it to make Alfred sauce , chicken cutlets and broccoli Parmesan.

When I don’t have fresh parmesan, this brand is definitely my back up. The flavor is tangy and delicious and melts beautifully on pasta. I love to use it in my pasta sauces. It makes my alfredo sauce fantastic.

If you are dairy free and looking for the best cheese alternative look no further! This stuff actually melts and tastes great! I’ve used in many recipes and no one knows it’s dairy free. Add to some chicken broth for a yummy sauce.

I often make 2 packages at once as I have hearty eaters and do enjoy having leftovers for the following day’s lunch. This time I had brought up two pkgs Garlic Parmesean Rice and two pkgs Cheddar Broccoli Rice/Pasta.

I accidentally opened one of each (instead of 2 of the same thing) and before I realized what I had done, they were in the pot with the water, milk and butter. When it was cooked half way through, I cut in 3 large scallions (green and white parts) and finished cooking the rice.

Much to everyone’s surprise and delight, this combination was just amazing. As always, I soft scrambled up 3 whole eggs in a separate pan, and broke them up small to add to the rice (to boost the protein content and serve it as a main dish).

With a lettuce/tomato salad on the side, it was a quick, tasty and nutritious dinner for all. Thanks Knorr, for making it easy on the home cook.

Received the Knorr Rice Sides Garlic Parmesan 5. 2 oz today and made it for supper along with oven fried chicken. It was very easy to make on the stovetop. It smelled good in the package, while it was cooking and after it was done.

I am not usually a rice consumer but this was very good. It had a pleasant flavor and was filling. It was also quick to make and had plain, simple instructions. I liked that there were no artificial flavors or preservatives and no added MSG.

I will buy this in the store next time I go shopping.

This is by far one of my favorite frozen meals. Chicken parmesan is one of my favorite dishes, but I don’t always get to make it at home because no one else in my house really likes it. Which is exactly why this frozen meal for one is perfect for me.

The only meat I eat is chicken, so naturally chicken parmesan is one of my favorite meals. This Lean Cuisine version is delicious.

I will start off by saying I rarely eat frozen dinners, but I keep a few around for when a quick meal is needed. I saw this chicken Parmesan at my local grocery store and decided to give it a shot. The box made the chicken look very tastey.

I have to say it even tasted as good as it looked. The chicken had a fresh taste to it and was actually pretty crispy for a microwave dinner. I am picky on marinara sauces, but I gave this one a thumbs up.

Now I will say a frozen dinner will never be the same as a freshly prepared meal, but this one was not too bad and I ended up purchasing more for those quick meal times.

The lean cuisine chicken parmesan dinner is basically not that great. Obviously you can’t compare it to any restaurant chicken parmesan but for a frozen dinner it is fair. if you overcook it the chicken it is tough.

If you under cook it it is mush. I also think that there is not enough sauce. Also the cheese becomes one big unedible clump. I definitely would not recommend this lean cuisine dinner.

I bought a box of the garlic Parmesan boneless chicken strips the other day and was super excited to try them. I usually buy the regular ones. I was sadly disappointed with this meal. The chicken was good, I enjoyed the flavor of it it very much.

However, the mashed potatoes were horrible. I’d be lying if I said they had no flavor, that might actually be an improvement. No, they tasted like wet cardboard smells. It’s the same with all plain mashed potatoes that Banquet makes.

This meal would have gotten 5 stars if it just had a different side. White cheddar Mac-n-cheese would have been nice. All of the other chicken tender mega meal flavors I’ve eaten come with regular Mac-n-cheese and it’s usually enjoyable paired with the tenders regardless of flavor.

I didn’t realize until I opened the box that it was mashed potatoes and not a white cheddar Mac. The pic on the box looked like white cheddar Mac, not mashed potatoes. Figuring Banquet would keep with tradition I didn’t bother reading beyond the chicken seasoning flavor… mistake.

I will not be purchasing this particular variety of chicken tender again simply because the mashed potatoes ruined the whole meal for me. I’d have been better served if they just did away with the side and added more garlic Parmesan tenders because that’s the only part of the meal that I could stomach eating… Please replace the side with something else.

I really liked the chicken and wouldn’t mind eating it again, but it’s not worth the cost of it just to eat half the meal.

I thought the taste was pretty good and would have given it 4 stars but didn’t because it was salty. I forgot to check the nutrition facts on the package before I bought it. It shows 2560 mg of salt which is over 100% of the value for a whole day.

That is way too much salt. A product should never contain more that 1/3 of the daily value of any of the bad things (salt, cholesterol, fat, sugar) since this is obviously for only 1 of your 3 daily meals.

On the plus side it did have minimal sugar and a lot of protein. I wouldn’t recommend it due to the amount of salt.

Mac & cheese was pretty good, nice spice level and quite creamy but there wasn’t any other flavor other than the chili. No flavor from the cheese really. Also, green chili isn’t what I think of when I want Asian flavors.

The chicken DID NOT have any sauce on it like the description stated. That made them a little dry. I was happy with how many chicken strips I got though. (8). Probably won’t buy again though until at least the sauce issue is resolved.

With the rise of inflation affecting every expense around us, grocery shopping on a budget can be a challenge. I’m usually hesitant to purchase any single portion frozen dinners but I LOVE this one!! It’s better than any brand alternative (stouffers, lean cuisine, hungry man, etc) I prefer this meal over any of theirs.

Very good taste! I baked it in the oven as per the instructions and it came out delicious. i couldn’t believe it. only minus was the relative lack of chicken. Only two small nugget-sized pieces. But I’d buy again.

This has got to be one of the best frozen meals I’ve had ever. I even created an account just to write how pleased I am with this purchase. It takes up to 6 mins to heat up but can vary depending on the microwave.

From the pasta to the chicken and sauce it all tastes like something you wouldn’t think was a frozen meal. The chicken was juicy and the pasta was had a good texture. The aroma when being warmed up smells pleasant I even had a few co-workers ask what I was making.

It is inexpensive. Very good generous portions. Plenty of sauce, meat and pasta. From now on I will be purchasing “Great Value” frozen meals. This is no doubt my favorite frozen meal. This honestly tastes like I was eating this from restaurant.

I understand that manufacturers strive to produce their products while finding ways to reduce cost. But you can’t tell the customer you are going to give them one thing at a certain cost and then give them something totally different.

It’s not ethical, and as of late that’s what they’ve been doing. Not only have I had trouble finding the large Beef Pot Pie, but when I do get to have one it’s been a total disappointment. By the way, if you haven’t noticed, the cost of this item has dramatically increased and the quality has noticeably decreased.

If you look at the picture of this item, it shows the contents are Beef, Potatoes, Carrots, and Celery in a sauce. However I have consistently had pies with only Beef and Potatoes and very little sauce.

Which makes for a bland and dry dining experience. I’m hoping this is temporary, but based on their other frozen meals and the changes they’ve gone through, disappointment is here to stay. Based on this, I’m sad to say the time has finally come to end my patronage of Marie Callender’s.

Add this product to the list of frozen dinners I’ll no longer purchase; Cheesy Chicken and Rice, Fettuccini with Chicken & Broccoli, Lasagna, and the Chicken Alredo Bake. I will miss them all.

I frequently eat Marie Callender beef, chicken, and turkey pot pies and have always found them to be of excellent quality. Today, however, I ate a beef pot pie and I was extremely disappointed. I eat these often, so I was expecting the usually tender beef and creamy, dark beef gravy.

What I ended up with was some sort of textured, rubbery beef, one carrot penny, and beige-colored gravy. All I can imagine is that the recipe has changed. I eat these often. so I know what to expect.

I always cook the pies in the oven, and today was no exception. It just appears to me that Marie Callender has, for unknown reasons, decided to put out an inferior product with inferior ingredients. I have another beef pot pie, as well as a turkey pot pie in my freezer, and I am reluctant to eat them because I don’t know what might be the new turkey meat, and I refuse to eat a rubbery beef by-product.

If this new version of the beef pot pie is an attempt to save on production costs, I hope it was worth it because Marie Callender’s pot pies just lost a faithful customer in me. I will neither pay for nor eat this crap again.

I am so disappointed. I am almost afraid to eat the turkey pot pie that is in my freezer, wondering what has been done to alter those. If I had the option to give this product a half-star, I would.

This review: Marie Callender’s Beef Pot Pie 10 oz. (small) purchased in Northern California. The beef pies are my long-time favorite. The crust browned on top and was fairly flaky; not bad for a microwave pie.

For many decades I have cooked these in a gas oven with better results. The gravy was the right thickness and nicely spiced as always. There was plenty of beef: five good-sized cubes and two partial pieces.

The beef used to be something like top or bottom round, now it is sectioned and formed meat with a spongy texture. Not nearly as nice. Vegetable tally: two small pieces white onion, two good-sized cubes of potato and a few smaller pieces, carrot: two decent slices and a few fragments.

Celery slices were shown on the package photo but none at all were found in the pie. Overall, still not a bad pot pie and two on sale for $4. 99 is not unreasonable for the small size. But, too much gravy and not enough filling: certainly not as much filling as shown of the package photo.

I bought these on a whim while placing my online pickup order and I am sure glad I did! You get six chicken and enough sauce and mozzarella cheese to cover the chicken. There are a total of 4 sauce packets.

The chicken and sauce are separated into two packs in case you want to make two smaller meals out of this kit. We are a Family of five so we always cook all six. That you put the chicken in the oven on a line cookie sheet you flip it once you add the sauce and mozzarella and it’s done in about 40 minutes.

We make this a little side of penne or spaghetti pasta and sauce and it’s a hit for all of us including our three picky kiddos. Now the chicken looks a little different in the picture on the box it’s more of a flat chicken but it’s not too spicy.

I have bought this twice now and both times quality has been consistent. This is now a regular on our weekly Sam’s order and we anticipate it will stay there for quite some time as long as Sam continues to carry it.

If we could give it zero stars we would. These are not breaded chicken breasts, these are a processed meat patty. They were so filled with gristle we couldn’t finish one patty a piece. They are severely lacking in flavor and the only flavor that comes through the sauce is sugar.

The overly sweet taste of the sauce does not pair well with the chicken. Thank god for Sam’s return policy, we will be returning as we only made a single package from inside the box. Never again.

To be fare I am tough. Chicken was good, but by the time I added my own marinara sauce to serve with Pasta. I might as well bought chicken patties, and marinara, or made some, along with some Mozzarella.

That is what this was. The sauce they include would be good if you were putting it on a bun like for a grinder, but not if serving with pasta. If you do not have time to look for the items separately it might be good, but the cost and not enough sauce make it a pass for me.

I was so intrigued to try this meal. It seemed easy enough to dump, cover, and bake. While the process was easy the cheese was surely lacking. When I think of lasagna I expect lots of cheese. This product is very cheese skimpy.

The overall flavor is good though!.

Sometimes it’s nice to not have to think about what to make for dinner. Birds Eye has really got you covered with these new oven bakes. And the amount of food that you guys is pretty substantial and could easily seed a group of four people from one bag.

Just add a side salad and you’re ready to go.

Easy prep and a generous meal for a crowd! This was delicious and effortless. I am a sucker for creamy garlic cheesy goodness and this Creamy Parmesan Garlic Chicken fit the bill. A great solution for the nights I want to fill bellies with minimal effort.
