20 Best Side Dishes For Picnic (2023 Updated)

I had a basket like this one, but smaller, at age 11 in Budapest. I crossed the border with a doll in it, nothing else in1957, I still have the doll, but my mother gave the basket away. Parents, don’t give anything away without the persons permission.

I will keep this basket until my daughters give the basket away.

We really do love the basket. It’s the perfect size for 2 of us and we use it frequently. The glasses are on the small size, they are glass, and we don’t mi d the smaller portions. The napkins are cute, cheeseboard and knife work as expected and look nice.

Corkscrew has a wooden handle and is sturdy. We have received many compliments on the basket. That’s the good. The reason for only 3 stars is the hardware. It’s cheap and breaks VERY easily. Both clasps are now broken.

Are they easy to replace? Sure, but honestly should we have to?.

The design of the picnic basket is good. It looks nice and it has well produced wooden parts. Fit and function are okay. But the packaging was very poor. One of the handle broke. I returned the picnic basket tot a shop and got my money back.

Another order is not possible because this product is out of stock for quite some time. Very disappointing.

I bought this product as I needed a bigger side plate than the smaller round ones now being made. These are a great size for a side plate. Customer service was excellent – order delivered in two days in perfect condition by a very nice DPD driver.

I collect all Botanic Garden dishes all the time and was happy to find these square plates. Perfect for desserts or appetizers. A great addition to my collection.

I feel I need to review these as I’ve had them for quite a while now. I am a huge entertainer and outdoor entertaining is my absolute favorite. This set is the one I choose to decorate the table almost every time.

These mini dishes brighten up any tablescape and can be used for a variety of things — modern salt dishes; hold mints; nut bowls; candy dishes; modern butter pats. They are charming and can spark conversations as each has a different flower.

What could be better than a set of these tiny little what-not dishes! They’re perfect for olive oil dippers, or you could even put tea lights in them. Little condiments go here just fine!

beautiful portmeirion design, but these dishes will fit a few olives each. not exactly sure what i will use them for. lesson learned: pay attention to the measurements.

Actually more useful when cooking fish in milk and butter gravy so much so I bought a second one and the mini draining spoons are great for olives/gherkins/beetroot ect.

Very attractive dish for condiments but I expected that it would look and feel more like porcelain – thinner and lighter.

I bought this dish a month ago and have found it very useful, not just for sauces but great size for storing small amounts of left overs etc.

It’s a pretty serving platter. The shape is what I wanted. Initially, I was hoping to get a bigger size one but I’m happy with the purchase.

I love this picnic basket. I love that the top has a spot for eating utensils and makes for easy storage. It frees up the bottom are for food and drinks. Even comes with a picnic blanket. We love this.

So easy to take with you for that special date. Everything is easy to clean. Great for the park, the beach, fishing trips or that special road trip. Also great for a night of star gazing! I even love breaking it out on raining days for a romantic indoor picnic! It’s quality made for the price! Easy storage when not in use too! We love ours! We highly recommend this picnic basket.

My personal impressions are that it is a very nice and complete set. The quality is pretty good. although the weave on the wicker could use a little improvement. All the materials were pretty nice for the price I got it for on Amazon, but I might have been a little disappointed if I had to pay full retail on it.

There is plenty of room inside for anything you might want to bring on a two person afternoon or evening in the park, and the weight (despite all the items) is very manageable. The suitcase style handle definitely makes it easy to carry.

I really kind of want one for myself now, and would have no issues with recommending this to a friend or getting another myself.

Growing up in a family that loves leftovers, I was always taught that having multiple food storage containers is a must! Not only do you need to have several of them, you need to be able to organize them and keep them clean with as little effort as possible.

These storage containers do all that and more. Easy to stack, durable, and best of all, it holds up in the dishwasher. They also continue standing up to the the abuse of being used in the microwave. In our house, things don’t last long if they can’t be tossed in the dishwasher with little or no pre-rinsing.

We used these for to store all sorts of messy/colorful/sticky foods and the containers aren’t showing much wear or stains (compared to other storage containers we’ve recently used). The only issue we had was with soups/liquids.

The seal is not super tight which does allow liquid to flow out slowly if upside down or tipped on its side. This isn’t a huge deal for us but I can see folks who transport soups for work, may want to use something else.

Highly recommended for anyone who brings leftovers to the office for lunch. Not to mention those who don’t like handwashing their storage containers!.

Very disappointed in rubbermaid brand with these. They only last about two or three times. I only used them to store homemade dog food in fridge or feezer. They crack easy and become super brittle in the feezer.

They would not last if you actually used them for lunch items or things you carry out of the house. I never microwaved them and only hand wash them, but I can’t see them lasting in the microwave or a dishwasher either.

The plastic is awful compared to my other thicker more flexible plastic rubbermaid products, I have used rubbermaid for 40 years and they have now lost a customer. They got super cheap and now have terrible quality.

I take my lunch to work a lot. Having a container to do this helps. The Rubbermaid TakeAlongs, food storage containers are a 5. 2 Cup Square bowl. They are reusable which saves a lot of money. They are big enough to hold a sandwich.

The bowls are clear with red lids. In my opinion a sealable bowl helps keep my food fresh. Also you can warm up your food in these bowls. There are 8 bowls. That makes it easier planning lunches for myself and my kids.

The bowls are not flimsy. They are sturdy. I like these bowls. They hold anything you need them to. They are easy to transport and easy to clean. I can pack 2 bowls in my lunch bag and still have room for anything else I want to take.

The lid attaches easily and you can hear it snap on so you know it is closed. Overall, I would recommend these bowls. You can use them anywhere you need a bowl. I like there is 8 to a pack, I know there is plenty for everyone then.

The brand is trustworthy. The bowls are better than similar ones. These would be great as a gift or for personal use at home, school, or at an office. These are worth being bought.

I love this bowl. It’s the perfect size if you like a big salad. Don’t like the title fool you. It may be a “serving bowl” but it’s perfect to serve oneself a big lo’ salad. It’s sturdy and aesthetically pleasing for all you millennials and gen zs out there.

This is a fairly iconic product. It’s disappointing to discover that the manufacturer has become sloppy at best. There are chips that have been glazed over (obviously in the course of manufacture; Bed, Bath and Beyond isn’t responsible for this; the glaze is applied before they ever receive the plates).

And they are a quarter of an inch larger than the nine plates that I bought about three weeks earlier. One expects uniformity from machine-made products. These were not offered at a crafts fair, after all.

But for every day dishes now that the kids have graduated beyond Melamine, they’re sort of fun. If we don’t cut ourselves on those pointy spurs.

I have used Fiesta stoneware for many years. It is very durable and ha Beautiful and durable stoneware from a famous and time honored stoneware company. I have used it for many years and have been completely satisfied.

s a good weight to it. It holds up perfectly with thousands of cycles in the dishwasher. An excellent quality product from a famous time honored company.

The dishes came well wrapped and in great shape. I love the Sunflower Yellow. The price was good too. These dishes are very nice. Just what I wanted. These salad plates do not have Fiesta marked on the back but they are all that way.

The other plates ordered do. These are not large plates but I like the smaller size of these dishes. Well made! Not heavy but sturdy for the dishwasher, stove and microwave. Not easy to chip either.

Purchased 8 mini bowls for my sister to complete her set. She loves them and uses them for numerous things from individual serving bowls to condiment holders to small serving bowls.

A little smaller than the expected. I’ll have to rethink how to use them. No complaints. RD products are some of the best.

Unpacking my Lastra European Dinner Plates was positively exciting. I was certainly not disappointed. My plates, in white, are simply elegant, a demonstration of what I consider originality and old world craftsmanship.

The size is perfect. I enjoy setting my table for one and It is such a delight to enjoy the simplest meal on my Lastra. I’m waiting for the expresso cup/saucer to become available again.

I bought 12 place settings of this dinnerware because I so love the unusual, unique shape and simple pattern. But, the mugs and plates all chip so easily, it has cost me quite a bit in replacement, Therefore, in spite of the unique style, I cannot recommend to anyone that you buy this product as you will be weekly disappointed as something chips and having to replace expensive pieces constantly.

This makes me sad as I love the innovative style of these but will move to a different product as these just don’t hold up.

This dinnerware seems like a deal. But the quality is low. I guess you get what you pay for, Ozark Trail. The set I received was defective when opened. The enamel on one plate contained a significant defect, similar to a flaking paint bubble.

I did not bother to inspect the bowls and cups. Perhaps my enamel defect is a fluke. But the set has other flaws. The plate edges are not finished smooth and not evenly coated. The back of each plate contains three small uncoated spots, apparently from the manufacturing process.

The silverware handles are not especially tight. This allows a slight wiggle. However the silverware is reasonably study and not likely to bend easily. Overall I guess the set is typically usable for occasional camping.

However I prefer a better made product. Low priced junk is still junk.

I am posting this review as part of my entry in Walmart’s Ozark Trail Ratings and Reviews Contest. I purchased this set several days ago and am so happy with my purchase. This is a very nice set of camping dinnerware set by Ozark Trails.

They are lightweight and good quality which should last a very long time. I really like the cutlery bag that comes with the set 🙂 I also very much like the color of blue this set is. I would highly recommend this set for your camping, picnic, etc.

needs. I’m looking forward to my camping trip in a few weeks with all the Ozark Trail purchases I’ve recently made.

Bought 20 packages for our Boy Scout troop patrol boxes. They came quickly and overall looked to be in good condition. The boxes they came in not so much. Crushed, dented and in some cases torn. I can tell how they did the coating, 3 spots on the bottom of the plates give it a way.

They sat on a triangular stand. This leaves imperfections in the coating. Only time will tell if it is a problem. They will be getting there first use next month and only time will tell if it makes a difference.
