20 Best Side Dish For Brisket (2023 Updated)

I just bought this and was so excited to grill my burgers on it. I brushed it with olive oil and placed it on the grill to heat up. The pan completely burned and a dark film developed which I could not remove.

I am so disappointed with this purchase that I never used even one time. I hope Weber reads this review and issues a refund to me. Also, there is nothing on the packaging that says don’t apply oil to the pan.

I have just bought my 3rd Deluxe Grilling pan. Although the other 2 are in good shape their appearance is horrible. The pan turns dark after grilling a few times. Weber says put it in a dishwasher. doesn’t work well.

Cannot get it back to the original stainless look no matter what I do. I am embarrased to use the darker one in front of guests. It looks very dirty and un-appetizing to cook on so I bought a 3rd one.

Can’t keep buying new ones. It is a great product but VERY hard to clean!!!.

Just got a Weber Genesis II 435 for my birthday, thanks to my wonderful mother. I bought this off Amazon, again not patient. wanted it asap. The first time using it I grilled onions and peppers. OMG.

They turned out amazing where I could have had them all as my meal. but I had to share. It washed up well. Of course, they all will turn a little in color. I used the Norwex pot scrubber, soap, and water and it cleaned up easy.

Hint. must use oil in order to prevent the food from sticking, no difference then cooking in a pan on your stove. Tomorrow, going to use it to grill asparagus. along with trying out the searing feature on the grill and the potato nails.

The silicone seam at the base failed. Sea to Summit doesn’t really stand behind their products. In order to have warranty service performed, you need to have proof of purchase from an authorized retailer and it is ONLY warrantied for the INTENDED life of the product.

I bought this bowl around 2015 for deployments and travel. It worked great until that defect in material manifested this weekend. I would buy another if it weren’t for the fine print in their warranty.

REI doesn’t keep their records of purchases prior to 2016 and I can’t figure out who I bought it from so I am not even going to bother trying to get it repaired or replaced. I will go with MSR, Snow Peak or GSI for future camp kitchen purchases.

I am dissapointed because I really did like this product until it failed me.

I’ve had these bowls for a few years and they perform well. The X-mug nests inside it and the X-bowl in the X-plate if you’re so inclined. The bowls clean easily and do not hold odors. There are measurements in imperial and metric on the inside and the bowl is sturdy even when mostly full.

There are lighter options from other companies but these collapse and save on space so you have to weight what’s most important.

I purchased an X-Bowl / X-Mug pair to save backpack packing space. I was initially impressed with the function of both. they are fairly rigid in use and compact down nicely. but both show damage from packing & carrying after the first week-long backpack trip using them (where our group communally packed dinnerware in a shared mesh bag).

The collapsible silicone has relatively low resistant to damage from punctures and cuts. My bowl especially has cuts on the outer rim and damage on the folds exposed in the collapsed state. The cup has a hardened rim that helps reduce “rim damage” and when stored inside the bowl receives some protection from the bowl (but it too shows some damage).

If you use these, I suggest packing them in a hard protective enclosure (nested in a pot?) to protect them from compression and abrasion against hard/sharp surfaces. Packed this way and used with care, I believe these would last many trips.

To the product designers, I suggest providing the bowl with the same hardened rim as the cups and to provide better packing guidance to the user (or to provide packing protection along with the product?).

In my case. my cookware carries a nested burner with no good protective “open spot” to store and protect these. so I think they were a 1-trip item for me and I’ll return to using my rigid bowl / mug on my future trips.

I like how the bowl is very collapsible and portable. However, beware that when having something hot (like a recently prepared soup or oatmeal) on trail, the bowl heats up too much to be handled. I love the design, but not the material so much, but one can’t have both! Also like how it doubles up as a cutting board!.

Really robust product and some of us need robust! The height means that I don’t have to bend all the way to the floor to serve their meals – huge bonus. The design means that when I have to pack the bowls for travel I don’t have to worry about them, just stack the 3 of them and stick them in a bag.

They are tough and I think they will last for several years, I have dropped each of them repeatedly already (severe arthritis means dropping things is a daily event) and they are still in tact. The inner bowl can be removed for easy washing/sterilising (I raw feed, therefore do a lot of sterilising) and the large outer can be wiped down with a cloth and disinfectant really simply too.

I’ve tried a few elevated bowls and this is by far the best – sturdy and attractive as well as functional. To avoid whisker fatigue and get an ever higher elevation I use a more shallow stainless steel bowl instead of the one that comes with this set.

This is a lovely product; its smart but sturdy. Its design means it won’t tip and its easy to clean, too. I bought it specifically for a dog with compromised airway and its ideal. My only reservation is it’s size – I could have done with a bigger one as its used as a water bowl and I have 3 large dogs all of whom use it by preference to an ordinary bowl.

Having said that, a giant one would look like a piece of furniture, so perhaps not. Maybe the answer is I buy another one which I wouldnt hesitate to do if only the cats could reach it too!.

I bought my first Artisan Fossil double dog feeder off of a clearance site, after it had been marked down quite a bit. At first I thought that it was kind of pricey, but when I opened it up. WOW! This is a nice feeder.

And it’s great looking, too. I have six Welsh Corgis, all are kept in the house. Corgis can (and will) test anything. I wasn’t sure that this feeder would last long. I couldn’t have been more wrong. The finish on this feeder is not painted or glued on – it’s the actual wood.

And it’s water proof. This feeder has water in it 24/7. It’s never sloppily wet. The bowls hold the water where it belongs – in the bowl. The bowls are deep and hold a lot. They are white, so the water always looks clean.

You can easily see if there is dirt or food in there. The bowls come out of the feeder easily and wash up nicely. Now, these bowls are ceramic material. I thought that they might break easily. I was wrong.

After a year of constant licking and lapping, puppies playing through, filling, emptying, washing, scrubbing (I have a little rust in my water) drying – there’s not a chip or a scratch. And if there was, they sell replacement bowls! I could wrap my year old feeder/waterer up and pass it off for new! Six Corgis could not damage this feeder! So, if you want to treat yourself and your dog to something special, buy this feeder.

There is also a single model, if that’s your preference. And even models for extra small dogs.

Beautiful elevated dog bowl set. I have to be honest, I measured and measured in hopes of needing the medium size verses the large due to the price, lol. After I initially ordered the large set, I realized that although I may have measured correctly, I was misunderstanding the size of the actual bowls (I guess).

The Large came with two dishes that were each large than a family salad bowl seriously over 10″ in diameter. The photo shows 3 but I think they may actually offer 4 sizes? I still don’t know. I have a 65# Goldendoodle and the medium is more than big enough.

I had planned on buying another high-end brand (Le Creuset), but balked at the price, which was about triple the price of this Balti dish. So I decided to give the Bruntmoor a go, and I’m very pleased with the product.

Other than the interior finish, which seems a tad more coarse than the Le Creuset, there’s really no other difference. This is a rock-solid substitute for the more expensive brand, and works just the same.

It’s listed as pre-seasoned because it’s enameled, but I seasoned mine anyway, wiping it with Crisco and baking it for an hour, and then turning it upright on the stove and seasoning it the same way I’d season cast iron.

As a result, it cleans very easily, and rarely needs more than to soak with some hot water and then scrub with a bristle brush to loosen anything that stuck. Like any enameled cast iron, it’s important NOT to put cool liquids in them when they’re hot, as the sudden temperature change between the coating and the steel can cause the enamel to loosen over time.

Always let them cool down before cleaning, and you should be fine. Overall, I’m very, very pleased with this dish and feel like I saved myself about $100 by going with this brand. I make a lot of paella, gumbo and etoufee, and this is the perfect utensil for those types of dishes.

I was looking at this for sometime. I almost consider buying a more expensive one but it only came in enamel finish. I thank the buyer that answered my question regarding the finish on outside to be as the result of seasoning and not paint.

I love this balti dish. After a good old southern seasoning it is perfect. As of the rough texture mention by some reviewers it just normal in any cast iron dish/pan.

The cast iron is good quality and heats evenly. The enamel is bright and has no flaws so far. It comes fairly well seasoned but did need a good layer of oil for cooking. I’ve used it for curries and for scrambled eggs so far.

I have two complaints that knocked a star off and they are that it’s very difficult to find a lid to use for covered cooking (all of the ones in my house are more than an inch or two too small). The other, and bigger issue, is the inside finish is very rough because after it was cast in sand, it wasn’t ground down smooth before it was seasoned.

This may smooth out in use by seasoning and cleaning, but it will likely take years.

The total length of this griddle is 23”. I bought it to use in my oven which is 21” wide. But the 10”x 20” length is a bit misleading because of the handles on the side add 3” overall. But griddle is nicely made and very heavy.

I’ll keep it for the stovetop and see how that works.

Exactly what I’ve been searching for! A large, heavy duty griddle. It covers three burners on my stove top at home, and is also perfect for a big, dual burner propane camp stove.

Awesome product! I really enjoyed cooking Fish and shrimp on it. I have not grilled steak yet, but can’t wait. Grill vegetables are amazing as well!

I find this pan is of the best size and has most uses on my gas stove in home. I can cook all kinds of meals from breakfast to dinner, from frying eggs to making vegetable stews. Its size extend the use to deep frying and grilling.

I use it to grill burger meat, vegetables, asparagus. etc. Its size is good for deep frying mushrooms dipped in batter or frying a good batch of potatoe fries. I even make sandwiches using it, panini, grilled cheese, french toast.

Sometimes I pop it into oven and use it as bakeware. Its size is perfect for upside down cakes, deep dish pizza, corn bread or Dutch baby. This pan has good weight to preheat well and bake evenly on stovetop or in oven.

I can achieve good results of making pancakes, tortillas or naan just on stovetop with this pan preheated to the temperature to my liking. Oh its use is just endless. Best value one can get out of all kinds of cookware.

This site has an extensive set of gadgets one will ever need for his/her home kitchen use ( of course commercial too ). IMO, highly recommended as the first piece of cookware for anyone who wants to become a home chef.

Just a reminder : This pan comes well pre-seasoned but requires a bit of tendering after. The easiest way to keep it in best cooking condition is to clean out the debris under a running tap while it’s still warm then wiped dry or dried on a hot stovetop after cooking; wip the entire interior clean using a piece of lightly oiled paper towel when the pan is heated up before cooking.

That’s it and it’s quality is guaranteed to last one’s lifetime or generations. Best investment I made ever. Last but not least: If one gets tired of indoor cooking, the investment is preserved by taking it to other cooking occasions such as tailgate party, camping or just backyard.

Its ruggedness makes it a good piece of cookware regardless of gas, bed of hot coals or just barbecue grills.

Lodge brand in my opinion is horrible! I recently two weeks ago purchased a Lodge cast iron skillet for $25 bucks the 12 Inch and a Lodge cook pot for $50 bucks both are horrible to use. both stick with anything you cook.

I’ve tried lowering the heat to lo medium heat nothing changes. Ive tried making pancakes and all I get is stick stick stick! same with stir fry or pasta dishes. I’ve done some burgers they came out decent without alot of stick but constantly having to scrape the bottom of the skillet an clean is just a mess and not good on time.

The cleaning is horrible as well. you can barely use luke warm water an rinse and it rust rust rust! the metal is coming out the skillet already and only had for 2weeks!! If only I had kept the boxes this mess came in.

I will still try and do a return because I do have my receipt but most likely im out of $$$. Do yourself and your funds a favor shop around elsewhere. This brand is a joke!! The good reviews that are being posted on here must be employees or owners or some sort of payroll for this brand.

Im upset with myself for believing this brand was going to work and throwing the boxes away immediately. Im even more upset because I throwed away all my grandmother pots and pans and skillets from the 80’s some even the 70’s!! things just aint what they use to be.

I’m new to cast iron. I washed this skillet with warm soapy water before the first use. Then I cooked 5-6 strips of bacon. They came out perfectly. Next, I seared a two pound charcoal steak in the bacon grease.

(See picture). I added five eggs to the pan after the steak came out, which turned out great but I had some sticking, which I expected with a brand new cast iron pan. I did use Dawn dishwashing liquid, hot water and a nylon scrubber to clean (I know…).

Then, I watched a few Cowboy Ken Rollins videos to learn how to properly clean and season a cast iron skillet. It’s starting to look pretty nice after just 2 rounds of seasoning the way Ken recommended: Preheat the oven to 350.

While the oven is preheating, put your clean, dry skillet on the stovetop over Med to Med-High heat. Heat it up to just below the smoke point. When you can tell it’s hot all the way up the sides of the skillet, but not so hot it’s going to create a lot of smoke, pour in some Avocado or Grape seed oil (or any oil).

Roll the oil around the bottom of the skillet and use a bandana, tee shirt, or other lint-free cloth to rub the oil all around the bottom and up the sides of the skillet. Wipe off any excess oil. Next, put the skillet in the middle rack of the oven.

Bake for 40 minutes. Turn off the oven and let the skillet cool down inside the oven. When it’s cool enough to grab the handle with your bare hands, put it back on the stovetop and start again. Repeat this process 3 times.

You can do it over a few days if you are short on time. After this, he recommends seasoning it by rubbing oil all over it (even the outside) while its warm every time you use it. Every month or so do the baking it in the oven process (just one time).

Put a cookie sheet on the rack below to catch any drips if you put oil on the inside and the outside of the skillet.

This tip has a very odd texture, almost like whipped butter. I did not find any meat at all in it, but it seemed to have the burning spices down pat. It had a good flavor, but had a very bad after effect for my wife and me.

Both of us have been sick since eating this a few days ago. After two days, my wife is finally almost back to normal and I still have the nice stomach rejection of whatever this stuff was. I don’t know if it was a bad batch or if the spices in the product just didn’t agree with us, but I don’t think we’re gonna do this again.

This dip is incredible! It has a hint of sweetness from the brown sugar and a very slight heat, but a great smokiness in this creamy dip. Inside the lid it says it’s great hot or cold and gives heating instructions, i much preferred it cold, when I heated it up it was swimming g in oil.

It says it’s limited edition, but I really hope that changes and I can buy it all the time. This would also be great on a baked potato :).

Terrible smelling of Schweidsons signature series: the chuck brisket burger potties. Burgers look pretty, fresh and the color is pink. As soon you open the package terrible invasion of smell comes out of burgers, I don’t know what smell is this.

Heavy, strong, stinks, terrible, bite you. But burgers look good and I put on the grill, you see blood, then after grilled taste ok, no strange, but what is this smell about in pink beautiful burger? Why manufacturer doesn’t disclose the exact ingredients? What is in? I ate one, now I am so afraid of it.

I feel that smell in me now, and around me, in the apartment. I do worry about all pictures. Nevermore. Purchased today, no expiration dates on the box, nothing, no dates. Maybe I should not eat it, but tasted fine and looked fine except huge invasion of a strange smell that I can not identify.

Just made these Chuck Brisket burger patties. let’s just say Schweid Sons brought their A- Game to the table! It may seem easy enough to fire up the grill and make some burgers, but there are several things to consider before attempting to create that perfect burger.

It comes down to the quality of meat, temperature, the type of buns, and toppings. As a culinarian, I’ve learned from experience that brisket, short rib, and chuck are a good start to creating the perfect burger.

Moreover, a great burger should have an equal amount of crumble and stability. This has BOTH!! Oh and as a bonus tip, you DON’T have to necessarily use an outdoor grill to get a great tasting burger! You can cook indoors like I do often times, using a cast iron, either in a skillet or grill pan, or on a griddle! I was very pleased with this product.

I don’t like that overpowering the taste of the burger. This was the perfect compromise! SO much flavor packed into this meat. I loved it paired with cheddar and avocado on a light fluffy bun. Even with condiments the meat flavor shone through.

I think we finally found a burger we all like! My 2. 5 year old son even enjoyed a burger all to himself haha. We wanted more! Can’t wait to order some more and try it different ways. We cooked these up on our cast iron skillet with some rosemary sprigs from the garden and fresh garlic cloves.
