20 Best Shower Head With Handheld (2023 Updated)

Absolutely great shower head. I will replace the other two bathroom shower heads I have with this one. However, as stated by most other buyers, Delta really needs to include directions on how to remove the o-ring that causes it to be a low-flow shower head.

I rated this 5 stars for: Easy to install, sturdiness, and value for money but gave it 4 stars overall for the low-flow system and not having instructions on how to remove it from being a low flow system.

For those interested in how to remove the o-ring which causes the system to be low flow here they are: Once you have removed the packaging take the main shower head and look at the portion that will fit to the tube coming out of your wall.

Inside you will see a black rubber ring that has a washer inside of it. The screen and washer are one piece. Remove the washer by using a paper clip and pushing it down between the rubber piece and the grooves that allow it to be screwed on (the edge of female fitting).

Pull up and the rubber washer screen should pop out. It might take a couple of tries but don’t damage the rubber washer or put any holes into the screen. Under the Ruber washer screen is a blue plastic regulator.

This has a black o-ring running inside of it. This o-ring is what reduces the amount of water that is allowed inside of the shower head. Using the same paperclip, pry this o-ring out. You can use the holes on the side of the blue regular to assist with this.

Once you get one side of the o-ring up, getting it out should be easy. The o-ring can now be thrown away or kept for some other use. Place the rubber washer screen back inside and ensure it is seated far enough down where it is supposed to go.

you can simply use your finger to push down on one side and then the other until it won’t go any further. Using the directions from Delta, install the shower head.

The shower head itself is 5-stars. Nice looking, very easy to install. 4-stars because it comes set up as a low-flow device. As a low-flow device it purely sucks, putting out just enough more than a dribble to be called a shower head at the two-head settings.

No mention of how to change it in the instructions or packaging, but it is fixable. Before installing on (or in my case after uninstalling from) the spout tube in the wall, carefully pry the edge of the rubber screen washer out of the shower head.

Behind that is plastic gizmo (mine was light blue) with a black rubber o-ring in it. Use something like a paperclip or a dental tool to pull that o-ring up and out. You will see a ring of slots in the plastic gizmo now.

Put the screen washer back in, and install/re-install according to the instructions. Turn on, check for leaks, and admire the now vigorous spray produced by the shower head.

I purchased this shower head to replace a Waterpik I got from Costco that just wouldn’t work well with the setup I was looking for. Otherwise it was a great shower head. I removed the O-ring to allow full water flow from the start so I can’t comment on how much the water pressure improved but it was about as strong as the pressure I had with the Waterpik.

I replaced the shower arm as well to add more height since I also added a filter. Overall the shower head works pretty well. The head snaps into the base (I expected it to be a magnet like Moen) and feels secure when taking it off.

The plastic Chrome feels pretty cheap for the price which is why I removed a star.

there is a “tight line” between the dual function and volume control levers. the hot/cold mix valve lever will move the the volume lever. One can adjust the holding screw to reduce this friction but the screw head is so far out that you can’t snugly install the the plastic hot/cold mix valve.

It pops off frequently.

Its not the most sturdy. He plastic. It shows all the spots on the handles. When trying to adjust to get the flow you’d like, it isn’t easy. And the center shower handle easily falls out. If you want something sturdy, that will last a long time, I’d suggest you go with another option.

I dont write too many reviews and when I do its because I really love it, or I am really disappointed. Unfortunately, this Delta shower head falls very short of an acceptable mark. For what this shower head actually does (function), compared to other hand held shower heads, and the price point; major disappointment.

The quality is absurdly CHEAP; the entire assembly is plastic. Everything is plastic EXCEPT for the main connection fitting that threads on to your shower head pipe. That connection is the only metal, the rest is colored, lightweight plastic.

The main reason my wife selected this in the first place is because. 1. Its a Delta, and 2. Our old existing hand held shower head was a plastic assembly that snapped at the handle and needed to be replaced.

Our old existing was going on 3 years and just wore out. My wife said. I want a really nice quality; durable. None of this pastic stuff anymore. I/we did have a realistic expectation that there will obviously be plastic incorporated into the the design of shower heads, but EVERYTHING, including the secondary threaded connections; all plastic.

This was an expensive (almost mid 200 dollar range) box of plastic with Delta stamped and printed all over it. The actual functionality is literally mediocre at best. I had to remove the water restrictor O-ring just to make it actually feel like I was taking a shower.

not being squirted with a squirt gun. Once taking out the O-ring restrictor, it was much better for actually showering. However, this really falls short and misses the mark on the Selections of what you want hitting your body.

The removable hand held has a button that you use to select the multiple spray options. There is also a little selector lever on the side of the main connector fitting to differentiate the wand/main head options.

This main selector lever is a poor design, and not well thought. If you are short, and depending on how high your shower head pipe is positioned on the shower wall; if you are shorter, you will be tip-toeing just to reach it.

While this isnt an issue for me, my wife is shorter and has difficulty reaching because this lever is just too small and hard to reach by design. While the hand held shower wand is magnetic, this is only a guide/assist in docking the unit.

You absolutely must snap this into place or it will fall out. As trivial as it may sound, my wife was excited about the magnetic function. It is deceiving because it will hold the wand temporarily, because once let go, the wand falls out; you must snap this into place to lock it in.

This is a horrible design, and horrible quality. We will be returning this. If we wanted 40 quality, we would buy accordingly. For this price point and name recognition, it is appalling and insulting to call this Delta.

This shower head has devices in it that reduce the flow of water. That is a great feature if you have high water pressure, but if you don’t, then this will not work for you. I am on a well and don’t have good pressure so this shower head has reduced my flow to an inadequate level so that taking a shower takes a long time.

Also, The multichoice universal rough inlet/outlet is not something you will need unless you are installing a faucet as well. If you are just wanting to install the shower head then you don’t need that.

You would have to remove the faucet and the reinstall with this unit inside it.

This unit has now been in use for one year, and we’ve yet to experience any operational issues or broken parts. I’ve read other reviews and am equally concerned about Delta’s use of cheap parts, but only in time will we know if this results in having to prematurely replace the unit (or the parts themselves).

What we like: The price. For a sub-$200 unit, we feel if was a good value, especially when compared to other units available from other companies. Water pressure. We removed the flow restrictor and enjoy really good water pressure while using the spray option from both the handheld shower nozzle and its outer ring.

The dual-function handle. This allows us to set the temperature of the water independently from the water pressure/volume control. Translation: no need to find your favorite water temperature each time you take a shower.

This is especially useful when bathing the dog. As most of you know, when bathing a dog, there are times when you need to turn off the water while lathering your dog. This unit allows you to shut off the water without changing the temperature of the water.

Very nice feature! What we don’t like: The Outer ring that holds the inner shower nozzle doesn’t provide a lot of confidence that it’s not going to drop the inner nozzle. (I think it’s fallen once or twice.

) There’s a minor “click” you feel when it’s seated, but an update to the design would be nice to better secure it. The length of the shower hose is a bit short. Another foot of two would have been nice–especially for those using the unit to bath their doggies! We purchased a 10-foot hose replacement in the same oil-rubbed bronze color on Home Essentials Direct for a few bucks.

My wife has a temp she likes, I have a different temp I like. With this, it’s pretty easy to find a spot you can come back to. I always prefer having a detachable showerhead for getting those all-important hard to reach places.

One thing to note: there’s a temperature governor contained within the control mechanism! I normally install plumbing myself, but this was a big job and I let the plumber on site do it, so I’m not sure if this is mentioned in the instructions.

When we first started using the shower, it just never got hot enough. I thought it was a problem with our water heater – it was our first tankless – but other faucets in the house got nice and hot. I opened this up and found a piece of plastic that made it so you could only turn the temp lever so far to the left.

I removed it, and we were able to get all the hot water we wanted. As a result, the temperature lever now goes past the Red part of the red/blue temperature indicator.

Excellent shower head, easy to use. Really like the quality of it. I got this for my master bathroom where my wife and I never agreed on what type of showerhead to get. I prefer the wider ones, while my wife prefers the handheld ones where you can detach it from the wall.

This is the best of both worlds. one unit where we are both happy. Installation was quick and easy. The unit is very solid, and impressively built. The button and switches are sturdy with a positive ‘snap’ to them.

The showerhead is held in place by a strong magnet which works very well.

This is an excellent showerhead. It is very well made, it’s not metal, but the plastic is of a very high quality. It’s big, and, the spread of the water is excellent and the multiple options of stream choices are very nice.

Installation of quick and easy and shouldn’t cause anybody to worry. It is expensive; I paid ~$150, which is a lot. However, money means different things to different people, so your opinion of $150 could differ.

For me, the $150 is totally worth the quality. I have a single shower in my house, so to invest in a nice and enjoyable experience is absolutely worth it. Make sure you either buy or already have a matching shower arm, it would look a little crazy without it!.

It’s a unique looking shower head, but it’s easily the best we have ever owned. Our last shower head was only 1. 75 gph and it made for a very frustrating shower experience. This Kohler Awaken Freespin shower head is good for 2.

5 gph and that made a huge difference. It was easy to install, it fit on a standard arm. There was no plumber’s tape included, but we had plenty of that already. The water pressure and coverage is fantastic, it’s wonderful for shoulder or scalp massages.

This multi-head shower has so much functionality. It’s really terrific and has multiple pressure and stream options. I had to look up a YouTube video to figure out how to switch between the handheld and the regular shower head.

FYI there is a valve in the center (on the arm between the two heads) and you can turn the knob so the line points to the one you want. When it is straight up in the center, the water comes out of both.

It’ stiff so it takes a little muscle to turn it.

4 months later Don’t waste your money. The hand shower head it’s already rusted a little and it has become to heavy, so the rain showerfall it’s constantly sliding down if you hang the handheld. The material it’s some sort of plastic.

Don’t bother. When I first got it It’s ok. The material is plastic. Easy to install, had to buy the extended bar separately. Only 3 setting, and only for the handheld. There’s no setting for the water to come out from both shower heads at the same time, as I was hoping.

Purchased in Nov 2021, installed Dec 2021: does not seal, water came out in every direction, even with plumbing tape. Attempted to remove to return it and it cracked. Now it’s damage, and Zulillly will not issue a refund or credit.

I’m stuck with a shower head that won’t seal, cracked upon removal, and can’t be returned.

I wish this could be used as a dual shower but you can only use one shower head at a time. Weve had this for over a year and its worked well, however, the suction that holds the hand showerhead keeps falling off all the time.

There is no rusting taking place and overall it is good. However, only 3 stars because weekly Im trying to stick the hand showerhead on to the wall.

I bought this a few weeks ago and I love the LED lights and the shower pressure. I loving having each shower head on a different setting at the same time.

I like it. It lights up and changes color with the temperature of the water but it feels flimsy, It’s plastic and I’m afraid I’m going to brake it when I grab it to adjust the direction of the water

My son was able to install this without too much trouble. We’ve been using it for about 3 weeks now and I couldn’t be more happy with the results! Water pressure is excellent in both the rain and handheld components.

You can’t go wrong with this.

Bought this to replace an 8-year old delta massage wand. The old wall holder had broken internally and would not stay up, and the internal mechanism of the wand started making loud noise. This newer model is much lighter, easy to operate with push buttons instead of turning a stiff control ring, and provides a very full, gentle rinse spray.

The pause button is helpful. However, the massage function is very weak, barely perceptible as a massage. Weird, given that both the old and new wand have the same GPM. The new style wall holder is much better, and uses an internal (replaceable) O-ring to provide support.

I suspect it will last much longer.

I bought this about 6 months ago. It was working great but then the ActivTouch button on the top stopped working. The spray remains the same. The button that pauses the flow works fine. I tried soaking the shower head in white vinegar to remove any calcium deposits as we are on a well but have a water softener.

Any ideas to fix it? My last shower head lasted 15 years. Not happy.

Shower head is suitable for a standard sized bathroom. – Many different spray options but you will likely use only one or two. – An option to pause the shower head (unique feature). However, I often don’t think about saving water when I am trying to enjoy a shower.

– So far, the mildew has not grown on the shower head after a few months of use as happened on a Delta shower head I had earlier. – This shower head comes with extra unnecessary accessories. They should you give the option to just buy this shower head plus the hose $10 cheaper.

I had bought a regular hand held shower unit but returned it because it because it didn’t have the water pressure I use to have with a slandered shower head. I found this one on the Wat-mart web sight and after reading the reviews and details of the product I ordered it.

For some reason with these hand held units there is a loss of water pressure when using one or the other shower heads. Each shower head has three settings and it has a three position selection valve so you can use either shower head or both at the same time.

Sadly, in all three positions there is a loss of water pressure. Guess I’m O for two.

I’m surprised to be the first to review this item seeing that I’ve been using these for years. This is a great multi-head unit that can easily compete against other units 2 to 4 times the price. The one (small) drawback is that the flow control valve wears out after several years (of constant changing).

However, for $30 it’s definitely worth the money and I’m sure the other models have similar issues. On the plus side, both shower heads come with water flow limiters to conserve water (or you can remove them if you wish).

Both heads have the various spray settings and can be tilted as desired. The hand-held sprayer also has a control to pause the spraying if needed.

Easy to install. Nice pressure and handheld shower head is perfect for cleaning the shower. The selector lever to choose between the two heads would be better on the lower part of the head, since for shorter people it is harder to reach on the top.

Installation was fairly simple and completed leak free without tools but liberal plumbing tape. Water pressure great once the restrictors were removed from the main and handheld shower head (directions provided.

) Snapping remote head back in holder a bit more challenging than previous shower it replaced. Short people will find it a little challenging reaching switch to change from one shower head to the other.

Showers that come with a vertical bar allow positioning of hand held unit at an individually convenient height whereas this one, no vertical bar, does not. I still think it looks great. Many shower assemblies come with non removable restrictors.

I really appreciated the ability in this model to toss them in the trash. I’d have given it five stars, but people who are height challenged might not share my opinion.

This has been THE best shower head that we’ve ever had! Our old one was recently broken and we searched all over to find one that we liked just as much. We ordered several from Amazon even, but to no avail until we found this one.

Our goal was to find one that my hubby and I BOTH liked liked, this one did the trick!! My hubby said it was a breeze to install. He did take out the water regulator so we get amazing water pressure now.

We love the handheld too. The ONLY thing I can think of that would be a CON for me, is I’d like for the handheld to be a little longer. I basically only use it when I shave. Other than that, I can’t say enough about it.

I’d definitely buy again.

If you are reading this I have two opinions. 1. The quality of the shower system is very solid, you know when you you first pick it up out of the box, this is really nice and should last a long time.

It was relatively easy to install and you just need to follow the directions. KEY:COMPARE ALL THE PARTS WITH THE PARTS IN THE BOX. Trust me when I saw, make sure all the parts are there. I was about to install it and looked over the parts list and found that I didn’t have everything I needed in the box.

Which leads me to my real opinion on this company shipping the product. 2. When I pay full price I expect a new product, factory sealed, NEW. not previously sent out to someone else and then reboxed and sent to me.

I read a couple of reviews prior to purchase where that had happened. I contacted Find Your Bath and the company sent me out a replacement right away, which was great, until I received the box. It was previously opened, it has 3 different shipping tags on the box where it had gone back and forth.

I was ticked. So I took the parts to make a complete set and sent the rest back. I won’t buy anything from this company but my wife and I are very happy with the style and quality of the show head system.

Just know you might not get a factory sealed box, but if you can live with that and know Find Your Bath will take care of you, then you’re good.

Overall I really like this shower system. I did not have the problem that some have had with the parts being loose, it arrived mostly in several large pieces that needed to be put together, if you follow the manufacturers YouTube video, it is straight forward.

The small parts were in well-marked baggies with extra set screws and O-rings in case you lost some, although they were rather skimpy on the plumbers grease. My only two complaints were; first, the wand really only has three different modes, and none do a decent massage pulse.

Second, if you have a pre-formed fiberglass shower, where the inner shell sits an inch or two out from the wall, the upper brass pipe nipple will need to be longer (mine needed a 3. 5” nipple, which I had to custom make) but then there will be a gap between the wall and the escutcheon (decorative collar), so I had to fabricate a decorative cover between the collar and the wall to hide the exposed brass pipe.

This shower head is so nice. It releases soooo much water and the pressure is perfect. I am sooo glad I bought this. I moved out and at my parents house I had a 2 shower head but when I moved to my new place I had one WHICH was awful.

I bought this and now I love taking longer showers then before. Such a great deal !!! But that way that is made like the shower head it feels cheap and so does the hose but how it works is amazing.

Pros: Solid build quality (except don’t use a wrench to tighten the heads during installation) Comes with sealing tape so you don’t have to buy your own (I didn’t need it though) Easy enough installation No problems with leaking out of any part of the shower heads Able to use both shower heads at one time Cons: Some of the settings feel the same as others.

If you’re reading this, then I’m sure you already know that if the water bill is of no issue to you, be sure to remove the flow regulator on the inside of the main dispenser piece. This will give you more water pressure if you’re into that for your showers.

We pay a flat rate at our apartment so I can literally stand in there for hours on full blast from both shower heads, and it feels amazing.

The Waterpik 2-in-1 Shower System contains 2 different shower heads. One is hand held and the other is a rainfall spray. Having both options is very convenient. I prefer using the rainfall spray when washing my hair and the hand held for a regular shower.

The Waterpik PowerPulse Therapeutic One Touch Strength Massage 2 in 1 shower system is an enjoyable way to take a shower. It has eight different sprays from which to choose and three ways to use them (hand-held, rainfall and combination).

I installed it in one of the showers in my home which did not have a hand-held hose, so this was, in fact, an upgrade. It was extremely easy to install and only took a few minutes. I was especially pleased with all aspects of the unit’s one-touch feature and the force of the massage was relaxing, soothing and rejuvenating.

Although it is made of a plastic material it looked very nice once installed, and hopefully, it will last a long time. I highly recommend the Waterpik PowerPulse 2 in 1 shower system. It’s easy to use and easy to love.

The only drawback is that your water bill will be going up because you will definitely be taking longer showers.

I was expecting the shower head to have the 7 functions that it says it does. But it only has 5 on there after pushing the button tons of times. The water takes a while to get moving through the shower head since it takes alot of water pressure.

The forceful massager spray feels good on the back, but not so much on the head since it hurts. The rainfall one feels amazing and really relaxes you when in the shower. The other functions feel like a normal shower, but I really like the wide button to get to the other settings.

I like that the shower head with the shower head easily comes off. The set up is easy and it doesn’t take very long.

Definitely glad that I did. The handheld raises the shower close to 10 inches or so when put in the holder which is great for someone like me, because I’m 6’2″ and the original shower arm makes me have to bend my neck and body into it to get my hair and face clean.

With this, I can just look straight up to wash my face. Setting both on the power rain function seems to be my preference. I had no trouble installing this kit, and no leaks from the first attempt at putting it together.

(although I could probably credit that to the teflon tape that came with it) The shower hose manages to be about the right length, it has a good flexibility to it, and it doesn’t get in the way too much.

Can’t really say much more about it because I don’t know how else to describe the shower hose. In the past, I’ve used hand-me-down showerheads. Some of these coming from friends of the family would swap out after a year or so due to finding one that caters to them better, and this one outperformed them by a long shot.

I imagine there are better models out there, probably with more functions, but this one has definitely earned my 5 stars because of the power rain function, the price point, and the increased height that it gives when the handheld has been mounted.
