20 Best Shortbread Cookies To Buy (2023 Updated)

I wish I could get my money back, but I bought these after Christmas. These are not Shortbread Cookies. They don’t even come close to the taste of Shortbread. Sam’s Club really should look up tye definition of Shortbread cookies.

Shortbread has butter, not Palm Oil in it’s ingredients. Look it up in any dictionary or Google it. Shortbread only should consist of sugar, butter, a dash of salt, and flour. That is it!! This stuff had NO BUTTER, and thus is not Shortbread nor tastes like it.

We wait until the Christmas season to stock up on these cookies. My whole family loves them. I love shortbread cookies and bought these as gifts about five years ago. I tried one and was hooked. Now we make sure to buy tons of these cookies so they last until February.

They are definitely worth waiting for.

Shortbread is made of flour, butter, sugar. If eggs are added, it is no longer shortbread. I have been making shortbread using a family recipe that came from Scotland with my grandparents for over 50 years.

Walker’s brand shortbread cookies are the best shortbread cookies out there! They are soft, buttery and not a dry crumbly mess. They are a fun little snack that can be enjoyed anytime and anywhere. They can be a little expensive, so I’d say take advantage of sales and coupons.

I love shortbread cookies and was very excited to see this gluten free option. When I opened the undamaged box, I was shocked to see that not a single cookie was whole. Basically I had 3 stacks of cookie crumbs.

I’m not sure if this the result of packaging, the recipe or how the box was handled by Chestnut Hill Wegmans. Very disappointing.

One of the things I really missed when I first went gluten-free was the shortbread cookies that you get in the metal tins at Christmas time. So I was very excited to find these!. I was extremely disappointed.

They taste nothing like the cookies in the tin. They are too soft, not buttery enough, not sweet enough, and the texture is all wrong. That being said – I have a friend who is gluten-free who LOVES these and swears they taste the same as the cookies in the tin.

Ive long been a fan of Walkers Shortbread, but what I like about these is that theyre individually wrapped. Shortbread is best when its superfresh, and with these twin packs, you know theyll always be just that.

If youve never had shortbread, be prepared for a cookielike product thats extremely simple. The ingredients are merely flour, butter, sugar, and salt. Somehow, out of that, they get one of the richest, most palatepleasing desserts around.

And dont be fooled by the word bread. Theres nothing breadlike about them. Theyre very crisp, and dense. Also, theyre not particularly sweet its the butter thats the standout ingredient. They would be great served with ice cream, but I prefer them all by themselves.

I think they could word it better and remove the two boxes since you dont get 2 boxes. But ok, my fault for not reading it better. However, the package I got today 101 expires 111. Shouldnt be sending stuff that close to the expiration date, but we since theyre still within date, what the heck, they should be ok, right More than half of the packages have broken cookies, and on top of that, they taste stale.

Total fail all around. So, no more Walkers for us. Dont know if this is all Amazons fault, or Walkers, but Im thinking its Amazons because if I buy them in the store, I have no problem.

Expired cookies. Poor quality control. Placed online order 07/10/22, received cookies with expiration date Mar2022. Had to make a trip to store to return, will never order food items online from CVS again.

Will still buy Lorne Doones but from my local supermarket. 1 Star Review is only about CVS selling expired food item to customers.

I’ve enjoyed these cookies for some 50+ years and they don’t seem to have changed. Still delicious. The package boasts only 4 ingredients. I seem to taste vanilla as well. And in a separate box they list milk as an ingredient.

I looove these shortbreads. I’ve tried other brands during my travels throughout Scotland and these are the best brand I have tried. I won’t even try others anymore. Also, I’ve visited the Walker Factory store and had the opportunity to buy ones that we don’t see here in the States.

Usually buy that expensive brand of shortbread. You know the one. I bought these on a whim. Not feeling well and wanted something to go with my tea, but that wouldnt upset my stomach. Saw these and decided to try them.

I was so surprised. I can hardly tell the difference and certainly ney enough to buy the more expensive kind in the future. These are my go to from now on when I’m craving a shortbread fix. Dont let the name fool you.

These filled my mouth with a dry coating of what feels like sand. I didn’t like these at all. I just couldn’t get over the dry powdery feeling they left after biting into them. My grandmother loved them.

Great buttery tasting cookies with real pecans, yummy. These have been around for years, I use to purchase them for my boys now grown. I’m pleased to still find them in stores. My husband doesn’t much care for or eat alot of sweets so these cookies are the perfect balance for him.

These Walker Scottish Shortbread cookies are spectacularly good. For a commercially made product, made 1/2 way around the world, causes me to wonder just how amazing they are right out of the oven at the factory! I was really in the mood for a good shortbread cookie. There are about 10 cookies in this package but unfortunately they were all broken into small pieces. I tasted a piece and the flavor was good. But to my astonishment when I looked closer at the package and contents, it was full of small ants running around.

That really spoiled my day! I bagged the cookies and box in a sealed plastic bag and just discarded it. For sure I will not be reordering this product.

These are really a NO star. The lemon flavor is very off-putting. I tried one cookie and thought it didn’t taste very good so I waited a day to try another. The lemon taste is a lemon-flavored machine oil taste (likes machine oil smells).

The aftertaste lingers hours or until you brush your teeth. I ended up throwing the rest of the package in the garbage. I have been eating gluten free products for a long time and realize the flavors aren’t always the same, but I don’t expect them to taste like machine oil smells.

sure, they don’t have sugar. but they use some of the worst substitutes available. do your research. if they would be using erythritol, stevia, or monk fruit, these would probably be great. they taste fine though.

and I don’t find them to be overly crumbly.

In every package of cookies we opened, the first roll were crumbled to small pieces. I did love the chocolate and shortbread but oatmeal cookie not so much. I’ve ordered cookies from you in the past but these taste a little bit old and like I said, crumbled as if someone just threw them in this huge box They don’t taste as fresh as when you get them at grocery store.
