20 Best Shoes For Winter Walking (2023 Updated)

I purchased a pair and wore them daily for about 2 months straight on a europe trip (they were my only pair). I don’t think I will be able to wear them next year however. They were great on the fit, waterproofing, sole, and warmth….

until they weren’t. They stretched out so much! I need inserts within the first month so that my feet would stop slipping around, and then I couldn’t wear them without thick socks because the heels kept stretching.

Now, the ankle parts are too stretched out and I would not trust them with snow anymore because they would be very easy to get in the top. When I first got them they were perfect but within this 2-month timeframe they have more than an inch extra spacing on the stretch.

At this price point and brand-name, I was hoping for them lasting more than a season.

These boots are amazing, just what you would expect from Merrill. I normally wear an 11 medium but bought an 11 wide this time as I wear thick wool socks in MN. For probably the last 15-20 years I have only bought Merrill boots and shoes as I an disabled and have trouble with arthritic feet and balance.

I have probably bought over 1000 pairs as I love shoes and this is the first pair of Merrill’s thAt are way too small. I would say 2 sizes and the width seems like a narrow. I do not have wide feet. Great looking boot, extremely warm and amazing traction but beware of sizing.

I bought these boots in Winter 2021/22 and now looking to buy a new pair because the right shoe has worn differently than the left shoe, and my right foot gets blisters. I have reread the description of this boot as advertised today, and the comments from 9 months ago.

The tag in my boot is labeled as 100 gram of insulation. Your Merrill Rep replied to concerns that the boots were advertised as 200 gram insulation when we bought them in 2021, but the tag says 100 g.

Now, I am reading the current description of the boot, and it is labeled as 100 gram. So is the boot totally different, or mis-advertised in 2021?.

I bought these to have something nice for winter. Seeing how they’re called “winter path”, I wrongfully assumed they would be great for the winter and light snow. First time wearing them, with maybe a half inch or less of snow on the ground, my feet got wet.

Maybe good shoes for the summer, or if there’s ZERO snow or rain, but extremely disappointed with them. Considering my feet stay dry in a $30 pair of Filas, I won’t be purchasing anymore Nike shoes. The quality of Nike shoes has gotten worse and worse over the years.

I went ahead and got both the black and the tan colored path, they are a nice shoe, appear well built and are very light for a winter style boot. I dont think these would hold up in heavy weather conditions but i have not tried yet either.

They are very narrow fitiing shoes, and i have pretty wide feet so they are pretty tight, but they relax a little after break in, i would definitely recommend a half size up if you have a wider then normal foot.

These are also not my most comfortable pair of nikes, but they look good, something i would wear maybe going to the store or out for a couple hours, but not for all day or work wear in my opinion.

I love the styling of this shoes. Its a Nike and it’s waterproof so it fits my purpose precisely. It is comfortable and fit well with my clothing style. The shoes give me the support me feet needs and it’s light weight allows me to wear it with problems.

All I can say is that I love it ans would love to have it in other colors. Thanks Nike and Finiseline. com for providing me the opportunity to purchase this product.

Did some research into reviews on the BugaBoot III. Purchased in Boxing Day sales. Made a mistake thinking it was the Omni Heat version which it wasn’t. Came with just 200g of insulation without Omniheat liner.

Even with good quality merino wool socks, my feet were cold in -5C degrees when the Bugaboot is rated down to -32C. Regret not choosing KEEN Summit County winter boots (300 g Keen. Warm™ upper insulation and 450 g Keen.

Warm™ toe insulation). Size wise, another disaster as I was strongly recommended by the ales staff to take 8. 5US when I insisted my normal boots size of 9. 0US. At least I chose the WIDE fitting instead of the regular.

Still, after walking in the snow for 1hr, the Bugaboots were tight and uncomfortable to the extent my foot hurts, even with one layer of merino wool socks (medium thickness). As to the quality of the construction, not only do these look cheap but inferior to KEEN SUMMIT COUNTY and NORTH FACE Chillkat 400 II.

Should have gone for TNF or KEEN. Probably too late to return the Buggers for a refund so money down the drain. These Bugger boots are going straight into the rubbish bin unless Columbia can do something about a refund.

Worst purchase ever on winter boots. Next stop Salomon Tundra Pro or Keen Summit County or TNF Chillkats 400s. Anything but the Bugger boots. I would not recommend the Bugger boots to anyone regardless, the buying experience has been dire so my mind is made up to on Salomon or Keen or TheNorthFace.

I Purchased these right off the website and paid close to retail. Reviews were excellent and there are much higher priced boots out there (HH) that were above $200. 00. My son in law has a pair and when I look at them both side by side I am glad I purchased the Columbia! I walk 2 large dogs at all times of the day from early morning to late evening with Temperatures this December in Greater Edmonton Alberta hitting below -30 Celsius.

I normally get very cold in most boots rated to this temperature. They only have 200 grams of insulation and I expected to freeze my feet at these temperatures. I do keep moving but these boots fit like a high end ski boot.

They are high to above my ankle and fit snug with full laces with a waterproof outside and warm lining that is thick with lots of cushion and support. The sole is the best I have ever had that grips the ice from any temperature.

I usually put on ice cleats and never seem to need them. The compound is flexible and comfortable at all temperatures and I can walk greater distances with no fatigue. I have bought the cheap boots that don’t even last a season and would not cheap out again.

I rarely write a review but this is the most capable boot at any price point in my opinion. I am 65 years old, very fit and my skinny jeans will fit right over these boots laced up. That’s for us old guys that haven’t got use to you young people that like to wear your jeans above your ankles rolled up with bare feet in your flat soled designer shoes with no arch support ;-).

This is a solidly built boot with excellent ankle and foot support as well as excellent waterproofing. The lacing system is great and together with the construction, imparts a very secure feeling in uncertain terrain.

Deep snow traction is excellent, packed snow – middling – this doesn’t have enough bite to feel very confident or maintain pace. Ice even less so, though most boots without studs aren’t really meant for ice anyways.

Cushioning is very good, not plush, but not too firm either. It’s usable for long hikes even with my 240 pounds. I was very warm in 15F degree weather and feel confident this would take me down to subzero temps – in fact, I didn’t even need my usual merino wool socks with this boot.

In terms of fit, the wide worked very well for me, but the shoe tends to run at least a half size long for its stated size. I wish I had gone a half size down before using this.

Brilliant quality, comfortable, value for money honestly really great boots! I absolutely love them. Wear them on a daily basis to walk my dogs they have not given me any trouble at all. They are really padded and warm.

My legs and feet are on the skinny side and i have struggled to find boots to fit me properly without them rattling around like sticks in them.

Been buying these boots for my girls for a number of years . They love them and wont change away to other brands. Great value.

Really smart boots and so comfortable. They are fully fleece lined which makes them easy to wear. There is a zip on them which isn’t mentioned in description but it makes it effortless to put them on.

I have been wearing these for decades. Over the years, the quality has deteriorated but this years pair does seem better than the last couple I bought. The soles are not as stiff and heavy and they fit better.

But there’s still not much cushioning in the sole and the insoles are not removable so they can’t be replaced with thicker ones. I was wavering between giving them 3 stars or 4 and gave the 4 because they have improved them.

So not as good as they were when I first started buying them but definitely improved. I got the rubellite color- a beautiful purple. They fit nicely, are comfortable and water -resistant and are definitely 3 season shoes.

2 Pet Peeves: the boring colors. I miss the huge range of colors and would like to see the cherry red again and I think there used to be a nice rust color and a green color too. The other peeve is the missing loop on the back- it’s still there on the men’s version but was removed from the women’s version.

This one is a challenging one to review. PRO -light in weight (you know how lots of winter shoes are too clunky and heavy and all you want to do is walk around the neighborhood with the dog – you’re not looking for heavyweight hiking books) – the light weight of this shoe is perfect for that -I am sure this suede, like all their other shoes, will hold up and be relatively waterproof -medium padding Observation -This is the softest, lightest in weight suede I’ve ever encountered in one of their shoes.

On the one hand, I love it because it’s light in weight, doesn’t restrict my very wide fore foot BUT the fabric is so light that the back keeps pressing down. I have no doubt these will inadvertently become clogs/mules after a while.

There is absolutely NO stiffness to keep up the back of the shoe – has the rigidity of doublefaced wool fabric at most. -Also because of lack in rigidity in the back, difficult to get shoe on and off I purchased their mules and I found those perfect (but also has the lack of rigidity in the back but at least that one is easier to slip on and off).

I needed a new pair of house shoes, so I looked on Land’s End to see if there were any fun colors. I really lucked out this year with bright Raspberry Slip on Mocs. This pair seems a little lighter in weight than my others, but the color is fabulous !! I have had several pairs of these mocs and always liked them.

I need to wear custom orthotics in my shoes, so the initial fit is a bit tight, but these have already stretched just enough and they are comfortable within a week of wearing. Housetraining Rescue dogs demands quick access to shoes, so I always have a pair of Mocs near my bed for nighttime runs! I love the suede for Winter and the bottom treads are great for small snowfalls.

I have my higher Land’s End boots for the deep ones !.

Loved these as soon as I put them on. Im very picky about anything I wear. Been putting off buying a pair of boots for the snow for about a year. Finally broke down and bought these. Only downfall is that they need more of an insole.

But the fur all the way down to the toes, so I know I will not get cold.

I love these boots! Thank you, Icebug! I purchased them in preparation for winter, thinking I’d slip them on and wear them for walking in snow and on icy sidewalks and roads. When I tried them out on other surfaces, I realized how comfortable they are generally.

I have now worn them several times on nearby mountain trails: on rock-hard ice, crunchy snow, soft snow, sloppy wet snow, mud, dry gravel roads–and on pavement. The traction is excellent, better than the all-weather tires on our car.

My foot feels stable in the base (and with the addition of an Allbirds insole, even more comfortable). The uppers are a little stiff, as one reviewer mentioned, so I wear long ski socks and tuck my pants inside the boot.

I am so grateful to have discovered these boots!.

I was looking for a warm but light weight boot for general winter walking purposes, nothing heavy duty but comfortable enough to keep on for hours at a time. These boots fit the bill perfectly. They look nice under pants, keep my feet toasty warm at hockey games and give me confidence walking on snow pack and icy parking lots and sidewalks.

Comfy enough to wear running errands and being inside of stores without feeling like I have boat anchors attached to my feet. Very satisfied!.

I live in Minnesota where icy sidewalks are a constant problem, especially when the ice gets caught up in a thaw/freeze cycle or is covered with a light dusting of new snow. I have slipped and fallen every year.

But, the dog has to get out for a walk. After a fall this winter, I ordered a pair of ice bugs to walk outside confidently. They are comfortable and take away all the fear of falling. And, they are very warm! Can’t recommend them enough.

I am a regular user of the X Ultra mid boots, having worn out two pairs each of the X Ultra 2 and X Ultra 3. Note that this review applies to the biggest available size (UK 13. 5, EUR 49 1/3, USA 14), so it may not be fully applicable to smaller sizes.

I have also worn these boots for several months, and they are probably approaching the mid point of their useful life by looking at their soles, so I believe I can provide a good assessment. In my opinion the 4th iteration of the X Ultra is a major step backwards from the excellent previous versions.

The changes seem to be related to the significant weight reduction (488 gr per boot versus 590 for the X Ultra 3), which is noticeable. However, the cost of this weight reduction is huge: 1. There is significantly less cushioning around the ankle, and the boot is also approximately one finger lower.

I continue to notice a slight friction around the ankles on every hike, although less as time goes on. In the first few hikes I stopped several times because of this, and once I even had to put some tissue to increase the cushioning.

To me this makes no sense, as it a significant inconvenience just to lose a few grams. 2. I have to stop and tighten my laces at least twice in every hike, as otherwise the fitting becomes loose. This is new to me and had never happened before.

I ignore the reason but maybe the material has some elasticity in it. Huge inconvenience. 3. The boot seems to have much less torsion resistance than previous versions. I hike in a very stony area, and at least once every day this causes slight ankle twists when placing the boot heel on a stone.

Avoiding this is the reason why I wear mid boots instead of regular shoes, and again seems to be the result of saving a few grams. Overall very disappointed with these boots to the point where I have looked and successfully acquired two more pairs of version 3.

I can not recommend version 4 to any one and I will certainly be very cautious when a (hopefully improved) version 5 comes out. Version 3 was an excellent product, this one is not.

Please keep in mind that I have never used the X Ultra 3’s, so my review is not biased. I am an avid backpacker and have worn many boots in my life. Also keep in mind that I had two REI employees ensure that I was purchasing the right size.

These, by far, are not only the most expensive but also the worst pair of boots that I have ever dawned upon my feet. My Adidas Terrex Swift R2’s that I loved finally died out on me and I decided to splurge on a new set of boots from a “quality” brand.

Salomon’s Ultra 3’s have great reviews, so I figured the new 4’s would be even better. This was not the case. It seems Salomon missed the mark on the skew between trail runner and hiking boot with these, making them not only useless, but actively harmful to users.

I took these on a 30 mile backpacking trip on Isle Royal and now have medical bills to pay directly because of these boots because they caused intense blistering, bruising of my feet, my toe nails are turning purple and will likely fall off, and of course I slipped multiple times on easy terrain due to lack of grip.

Here is a quick summary: Comfort: This is subjective to my feet, but these were a terrible fit. I do not have wide feet, but these run so narrow that they crushed my feet and damaged my nail beds on my long hike.

Also manufacturing quality is low as the right show had a completely different shape, ridges, and size than the left shoe causing uneven wear. The bottoms are paper thin, expect to feel every pebble under your foot.

Support: There is none. The point of a mid cut is to offer stability. These boots have a convenient cutout specifically around where your ankles end up when you are hiking downhill and need stability the most.

The bottom of the shoe is very flexible and unstable. Also the upper of the shoe is very flexible. This results in your foot warping the upper when planted on any incline, and sliding off the sole of the shoe regardless of how tight you tie them.

Grip: I have slipped total of four times in my hiking career. Three of those times were during the 30 miles I hiked with these boots on. The will slip on dry rock, wet rock, roots, dirt, and even mud.

The last eight miles of my hike I completed in my crocs because I could no longer handle the damage the boots were causing to my feet and the crocs had measurably better grip and stability. Durability: Waterproofing failed after about ten miles.

At the end of the 30 miles, noticeable snags int the stitching appeared. The lugs also seemed slightly worn which is surprising since they didn’t grip anything to begin with. Conclusion: I have no idea how it is possible to create a shoe that is tight enough in the forefoot to crush your toes but loose enough in the heel to shred your heels.

This shoe offers the lack of support and protection of a boot while also lacking the flexibility, comfort, and freedom of a trail runner. Truly the worst of both worlds. Again, I cannot imagine a foot type or activity scenario that these would be ideal for.

I’m deeply disappointed that Salomon has opted for perceived style rather than function and that their manufacturing quality has dropped so intensely. I use their products for my cross country skiing antics but will likely be swapping to a quality brand after this experience.

Overall, the shoes perform well for their intended use as light hiking boots. They’re well supported for their light weight, but not something I would use for extended backpacking. I end up doing some walking on concrete (in wet conditions) to get to many of the hikes I take these on, and they do not have sufficient padding to be comfortable on pavement.

Given that pavement is not what they’re built for, I’m not dinging them for that. Other shoes do offer better padding though. The tread on the bottom has fantastic grip, and has served me well in wet, dry, and dusty scrambling conditions.

That said, it does seem to be wearing through a bit more quickly than I’d like for a $150+ shoe. This may seem superficial, but I am really disappointed with the colors. I have wide feet. Not extremely wide, but wide enough that for Salomons, I usually need to pick up the wide-specific model.

I love the look of many Salomon shoe, but for some reason, these guys always pick the blandest ones for the wide fit! I feel like we’re being punished for having wide feet, and there ain’t a darn thing I can do about it! I think the Green Gables color on the X 4 Ultra Mid is one of the best looking hiking shoes in the game, and I actually purchased one originally.

Of course, it didn’t fit because it was far too narrow, so I was consigned to the boring black shoe bin. I’ve been wearing these shoes for three months and, overall, they perform well for light hikers.

They have fantastic grip and effective waterproofing, but durability remains an open question, and styles lost some major points (especially knowing how much Salomon is capable of). Would I buy again? Frankly, I hope not to.

I loved my X Ultra 3 Mid Wide GTX, and I’d like to see a version 5 or 4. 1 that brings better colors, more durability throughout, and specifically longer-lasting lugs/treads underfoot. The new lacing system is good, and I’d like to see it stick around.

If all that materialized (and I mean please, please bring us that Green Gables in wide!), then yes, count me in for another round after the next update. If you’re stuck with the version 4 as is, I’d skip it and come back next year.

I do not have wide feet, but stil the saentis pro feels narrow. Specially because it is a winter shoe, and you wear winter sockings. Quality seems good. And i really love the firm outher sole. It does not give more grip than a vibram sole, rather the same.

maybe if the profile was more robust, it would have better grip? They are warm enough, and not too warm, so you dont get sweaty feet.

Not as comfy as other Skechers boots I’ve had but good boot and still comfortable. Look nice on and like the fluffy collar.

I bought these boots because they looked cosy and comfy, and they so are..there also so light..its like wearing slippers.. Would not hesitate to recommend..Go for it!!

Size is more or less true to the size but slightly smaller side. UK4 for this product is EU36. 5 rather than EU37. Pretty comfortable without thick socks but if wearing one for long winter walks, etc.

it’s better to go 1 size up. Surprisingly light weight for the thickness of the soles. Price is a little higher than I’d usually pay for walking shoes but the quality justifies it. I found lacing all the way up can be a bit tight for everyday walk (probably good for hill walking & it might change once the shoes are walked in a bit) so I don’t use the top 2 lacing hooks.

Bought these and hoped I’d finally bought ‘the pair’. Nice to look and extremely comfortable and well-fitting. Took them out for a long walk across the Malverns. Admittedly the weather was terrible but it wasn’t like I was walking through puddles.

Within about 90 mins of walking, water began to creep into the boot (not both, just one initially). Further I walked the more wet my foot got. At one point I removed the offending boot and literally poured the water out.

Things continued in this manner throughout the day until eventually my left ended up as wet as my right. I duly returned these boots back to JL after a single outing. The blurb says “Haglöfs are serious about keeping your feet dry”.

Not serious enough to do anything about it, clearly. A real shame. Not good enough to re-buy in case I had a dodgy pair, as I’d only end up sending them back again. Going to invest £10 more on a pair of Goretex North Face.

Nice and comfortable boots. Unfortunately the left boot started to let water in after half an hour of wear – the right leaked also but less so. I was only walking on light woodland paths. The grass was wet but it wasn’t raining.

A few shallow puddles but no higher than the soles of the boots. Very poor performance given the promotional blurb. I also emailed Haglöfs and although I received a polite apologetic reply they did not seem overly concerned that the boots weren’t actually remotely waterproof! Clearly some purchasers are happy but my experience is very similar to another review so perhaps there is a manufacturing problem somewhere.

Excellent 3 season shoe, purchased my second pair a week ago. I used my first pair – a lot – and after 5 years of extensive use, the sole is now dead completely. I will try to replace it though since the rest of the shoe is holding up nicely.

Shoe is very comfortable, very supportive, grippy. Narrow fit. Superior quality, very robust shoe (at least with my 65 kg weight). I use it troghout the year, but in my opinion it is not for long winter snowy hikes since it doesn’t offer much isolation and warmth.

But with warmer socks, I can manage up to 4 hours high intensity winter hike. If it is not high intensity, my feet get very cold. After my sole got completely worn, grip dissapeared too (of course it did), but they also became uncomfortable to wear on steep rocky terrain for over 10 km.

I guess that midsole also got compressed over the years and lost it’s function. If replacing the soles will be succesful I will continue to use my old pair for shorter hikes on undemanding terrain, and for forrest work.

I highly reccomend this shoe. If you sometimes do a short run on your hikes – it is a bit too hard shoe for something like that – there are lighter shoes on market for this purpose.

I’ve spent THOUSANDS of dollars on the search for the best fitting hiking/mountaineering boots over the years. My search is over! These boots fit perfectly. Hopefully, all of Salewa’s shoes fit this well because I’m trying more.

Hopefully this review helps y’all. I usually wear an size 10-10. 5 in almost everything. Size 10 in Vans/Nike. 10-10. 5 in Asolo boots. (Elbrus/Freney/Fugitive 10) (Nucleon Mid/Cerium/Landscape 10. 5) All in Medium Width.

I have an average width foot on the early side of wide. These fit perfectly with an mid weight Darn Tough Cushion sock and I still have room and can tighten laces more and less. I don’t have to wrench down and strangle my feet.

Very nice cushion feel. Narrow-ish locking heel. Very nice flex at the toe-box. Stiffness rating 3(out of 5). Enjoy!.

I love these boots. Time will tell how they really perform, but over the first few weeks I’ve spent a lot of time in snow, rain and ice. They have proven dry, stable and comfortable. They are on the stiff side, but my last pair of boots were ultralight so that is my point of reference.

Frankly I was looking for something stiffer for heavier loads over long distances and these seem to fit the bill. Despite having stiff soles, they still feel light and fast. I’ve had zero blisters or foot pain.

They were comfortable out of the box and have only gotten more comfortable as I’ve worn them. I’ve yet to wear them on a 20mi day, but I suspect they will do well. They have over 10-12 miles. I’m looking forward to a lot of future adventures in these boots.

Altitude sport performed well. I received my purchase on time and I was happy with customer service. The boot meets my expectations and keeps my foot warm and dry. I experienced hours of walking in the snow and I was satisfied.

Despite having 200 gr of insulation (which makes it warm) it is relatively light weight and appropriate for long hours of walking.

So comfortable! I love very much these boots. They are very light and very cute.

The shoe looks good. However, it runs EXTREMELY small. I read other reviews on this shoe running small so I ordered a whole size larger. My son’s toes were hitting the tip. I returned the shoes immediately and ordered a size and a half larger! So now it’s 2.

5 sizes larger than my son’s natural shoe size. They are a little big, he’s still growing so he will definitely grow into them. Son wears a 7, ordered a 8. too small, ordered a 9. 5. little big but room to grow.

My 17 year old stepson Ian, loved his sneakers. I thought it was a great value and quality shoes. I will definitely purchase from you again.

Well constructed, stylish looking high top trainers for teens of today

I have one flat foot and one high arch, so finding comfortable shoes is a problem. So far, Columbia has delivered for me. I’ve only had these Redmonds for a few weeks, but already: I wore them for 24 hours straight on a long international trip involving two long-haul flights, standing in security lines for an hour and a half, plus a half-hour dash from one end of a sprawling airport to the opposite end to catch my flight.

I didn’t take the shoes off once during that trip. These shoes stayed comfortable on my feet and didn’t bind or feel tight even when my feet swelled during the flights. Then I wore them on a weekend hiking trip in the mountains, involving scrambling over rocky terrain and through wadis (dry riverbeds) full of thorny plants.

These shoes are tough, have great grip, yet lightweight and don’t make my feet sweat. They kept my feet comfortable, no matter the conditions I put them through. I highly recommend them!.

I am a dogwalker who is out in the slush and snow and ice and cold all winter, making sure my client dogs get out for fresh air and exercise. The most important gear in my outfit is footwear, and I must say, these Redmond III Waterproof Hiking Shoes are by far the best foorweat I have come across in morethan 17 years of dogwalking! They are heavy enough to give a sense of stability, but not clunky in any way.

They are warm–I walked dogs in temps below 20 degrees today and my feet stayed perfectly comfortable. I especially love the non-marking soles–you don’t see those very much anymore! I am so grateful that many of Columbia’s womens shoes come in sizes up to a 12 (my size) and wide widths.

I needed a pair of light weight walking shoes for getting in my steps and attending the grandkid’s baseball games. My wife and I have long been fans of Columbia Performance clothing. I saw these shoes on sale and decided to order a pair from the website.

I normally wear a 10. 5 Wide, but that size was a little tight in the width. I re-ordered the shoes in an 11 Wide and they fit perfectly! I recommend ordering a half-size up. I have not worn these shoes for an extended period yet, but they are comfortable right out-of-the-box and I anticipate little, if any, break-in.

The shoes are stylish and well-made. I am looking into logging many miles with these low-cut trail shoes!.

Very comfy inside where I can feel my feet are well cushioned and with extra toe space. Didn’t need to ‘break-in’ the shoes. Happy with the waterproof for after rain low altitude and muddy hike. It really kept my feet dry.

Get to clean the shoes easily afterwards with just a brush and running water. And indeed a light weight shoes. The down side surfaced when I used it for longer duration and higher altitude hike on rocky and granite ground on Mount Kinabalu.

It was the first time I feel the shoe sole weren’t thick enough and my feet can feel the rocks on the ground in every steps. And the shoes were wet throughoutly inside out when hike in rain downpour.

Extremely comfy shoes, tested them on ankle high snow and stayed dry all 2 days. My partner got the same ones and also very happy. In heavy persistent rain they’re not very waterproof though but which shoes are in extreme conditions.

True to size bit they’re quite narrow which I am also happy about. I’m definitely fan of these and could recommend.

I bought this shoe after reading the technical specifications as well as ratings and reviews given by customers. But after using this shoe in winters in Kashmir, I am now posting my review. The shoe is okay for good temperatures, but Not recommended for Minus temperature.

My feet felt cold even in Minus 1-2 degrees. This shoe could not keep your feet warm in Minus degrees as claimed by the company. Even TSF shoes are better warmer than this shoe. Regarding the waterproof feature of this shoe, I will rate this normal.

Not 100% but good (as normal winter shoes). So, I will not recommend this shoe for cold winters. And I am disillusioned by the Decathlon company claim that their shoes are lab tested. At least, these shoes should keep your feet warm at Minus 5-6 degrees if not 11 or 18 as claimed by Decathlon.

I was a big fan of Decathlon products but after using their products I am completely dissatisfied with their products. I am giving 2 stars as the shoes seem to be durable but 0 stars for warmth which was the main reason for why I bought these shoes.

This product was used during my Iceland trip in July 2022. Very good grip on wet muddy areas, slippery sea stacks and other slippery surfaces. Although its not completely water proof coz many incidents the water sipped inside the shoe, but the best thing is its quickly dry down even in low temperature zones.

Provide the warmth perfectly. Slightly bigger in size than expected but helped fitting my swollen foots during long hours of hiking and walking on tough terrains. The weight of the pair is manageable.

Color and design is very trendy and can match and contrast with your clothes easily. A perfect companion for hiking in slippery, snowy terrains.

These boots are cute and just what I wanted for casual walks this winter. The sole is lightweight and flexible, unlike hiking or snow boots. Unfortunately, I have to return them because although I bought a full size larger than I normally wear, they are way too snug even with lightweight socks.

Like other reviewers have pointed out, the tongue is attached to the boot at the sides so you are unable to pull it all the way forward to put on the boot. It was somewhat awkward but because I went up a full size, I could get my foot in easily.

The problem is that the seam/joint where the tongue is attached produces a hard knot which rubs against my ankle bone. No amount of breaking in will fix that. Fortunately The North Face makes returns simple.

These are my favorite winter boots ever! Where I live there is snow on the ground for 4 months a year, and as a professional skier I am pretty much living in the snow all winter. These are warm, comfortable, and waterproof–I haven’t worn another pair of footwear pretty much all winter (except for ski boots of course).

They are great for kicking around outside, going to and from the mountain, hanging out in the cold, doing errands, and I’ve even taken them for walks, snowshoes, hikes, and an impromptu jog or two. They are lower-cut than most winter boots I’ve worn but since I love them so much it hasn’t mattered–if I am walking around in deep snow I just wear snow pants and I clip the small hook on the gusset/gaiter of my snow pants (TNF Brigandine Futurelight Bibs) over one of the laces on these boots and I don’t have any issues getting snow down the boots.

Now it’s mud season and I’m still wearing them every day!.

I bought this product for my daughter for Christmas. She’s very pleased with it. What I do want to add, though, is that I and my family have purchased both at your San Francisco flagship store, and online, many of your products through the years.

In particular, your jackets are outstanding. Your materials and styles are of the best quality and last for an extremely long time. My only hope is that you continue to carry on this tradition of quality, wear, practicality and style.

Three generations of our family have enjoyed owning North Face clothing, not only for skiing, hiking but for general wear.

Nice snow shoes. They look good and seem well-made. Out-of-the-box, I couldn’t keep them in the house because the smell was so strong. Here’s hoping the smell goes away before the first snow.

I had similar boots from LL Bean that fit well. But the newer design of these boots I had trouble getting my feet into the boots. One boot had a large lump of material sticking up in the middle of the insole.

These are a gift so I don’t have all the details but they were specifically requested as replacements for the same exact pair that were years old and worn out.
