20 Best Shoes For Weight Lifting (2023 Updated)

The sizing is true to measurement and consistent across the Reebok brand. Since this is a weightlifting shoe, I’d recommend a half-size smaller than your usual size. My feet feel extremely secure and stable under the bar.

You’ll notice that the shoe is quite heavy so that helps with stability. The sole is nice and grippy so it’s nice to be able to torque my legs outwards and not have my feet slip on the platform. Since this is my first weightlifting shoe, I’m not sure if I’m missing out on anything from this shoe only having one strap compared to a two-strap design (like the original Legacy Lifter shoe), but I feel like the shoe hugs my foot well plus you can always get a tighter fit by lacing the shoe tighter.

Since this shoe has a raised heel, it’s easier to hit a parallel depth, and because I already have good ankle mobility I can go even further.

The Nano X1 is extremely lightweight and my feet feel very secure when I perform my workout routine. The only negative, which seems to be happening to the majority of people that have purchased this sneaker is that the heel collar is high with little cushion causing a blister to occur.

I’m hoping it will wear down a bit to cause less discomfort. In the meantime, I’ve been wearing longer socks which I really don’t like. I’m hoping Reebok will make the correction and add a bit more cushioning around the collar.

Great quality shoe which provides that support and functionality when going for those heavy lifts. I’d recommend these when doing exercises like squats, deadlifts and most leg exercises when your ankle ROM is stopping you from hitting depth and progressing through the exercise.

These have helped my squat and deadlift greatly and I feel a lot more stable when performing said exercises in these shoes. The shoe could be a much darker black in my opinion as the colour scheme now kind of washes out and doesn’t look too aesthetic, but overall well balanced in it’s design.

When the Powerlift 4 came out I grabbed a pair thinking they would be the same as Adidas Power Perfect III but they were a poor upgrade. The narrow toe box restricted the ability to splay out your toes for a true connection throughout the squat.

The shoe is lighter but feels less study, this could be felt at the bottom of a squat, Without the firm structure, your foot would slightly internally rotate. Initially I thought it was maybe me but 2 others tried the shoe for comparison and found the same issue.

Aesthetically the Powerlift 4 looks slick but this is all I felt it had over the Power Perfect 3. If your undecided, then the Power Perfect 3 is a far better shoe. But if you only use shoes with a heel for bench press then the Powerlift 4 are a good option on a cheaper budget but for squats I would not bother.

This shoe really helped me in providing extra support for my ankles with heavy squats. I used to use Vibrams for squatting, but found that I was having some knee and ankle issues. On the recommendation of some of my powerlifter friends I tried these out.

They have been a game changer. Knee issues gone and ankles feel locked and solid during squats and other exercises. Highly recommend! About sizing. they fit true to my normal shoe size. I tried using their sizing chart and ended up returning two pairs that were too small.

Just go with your normal size and you should be fine.

I have the Adidas Powerlift 3. 1 in gray and I love them. I’m a powerlifter and i use them to squat. The heel isn’t too high and is perfect for me. I have been using them for a while but I’m thinking about upgrading to the powerlift 4 because I’d like to have a black pair of lifting shoes.

My current pair is still in good condition and I have been using them twice a week for over a year.

Before making my purchase, I did a lot of homework on these. Watched all the youtube reviews, reddit threads, forum comments etc. And I found that most were accurate with sizing. I normally wear 10. 5 and at the time I ordered these, 10 was only available.

I pulled the trigger thinking, I can always return them if they were indeed too small. I get the lifters in, and at first, they were tight (most reviews did state they ran small). I have a wide foot but after a few days lifting in them, they stretched out, which mitigated the heel slip issue many have complained of (tying the shoe laces tight and or strapping in the top strap all but eliminates that too btw) For the last year n a half, I have been lifting in Romaleos 2’s which any lifter knows, is widely known to be the best lifters Nike has produced.

2. 5 months in, I am starting to like these more than the 2’s. They breath better, better overall comfort in my opinion. The heel is a little taller than the 2’s and also have a bit more arch, but I got used to it within less than a week.

I train in Olympic weightlifting 5 days a week, for those curious. Highly recommend.

Ive been a Nike head my whole life. This is my second pair of otomix within 2 months. Nothing but comfortability and phenomenal grip. Buy them.

These shoes are awesome for leg days. Specifically squats. Better balance and stability.

Once you get these on your feet, they are extremely comfortable right out of the box. I am not unfamiliar with the Otomix, and have come back to them once again in my own training regimen. If there is a criticism of these fine shoes, they are a bit difficult to get on for awhile.

But once again once you get your feet settled into these, I think you will love the shoes. They are sturdy as well for what they do, and grip nicely. Fine product.

This shoe is by far the most comfortable shoe ive worn to squat. As someone with recurrent LBP from morphological foot anomalies, this shoe has been the only one which hasn’t aggravated my back. Ive tried both of the major competitors.

However, this shoe fell apart, quite literally, in less than one year of thrice weekly use. The majority of the lace holes broke from the flat laces. Even after using round laces, the holes were slices right through.

The tongue ripped at the toe box as well. I had to zip-tie and glue everything together until the shoe was irreparable. Of the 3 very expensive squat shoes ive had, including 2 lower quality brands, this is the only shoe to have literally fallen apart.

Using the shoe correctly, I was astonished and disgusted at how poorly the shoe held together. Several of my other lifting friends warned me of the problem, and they were right. I am disappointed at the cost for such a weak shoe.

In that, i went back to the other shoes I have and got hurt once again, and so I just begrudgingly placed another $200 order for the same shoe. I certainly hope that the quality has been improved, or that the shoe I initially had was anomalous in its poor quality.

I also must say how disapointed I am in the customer service. Ive sent multiple emails and had no response, yet had previously gotten a quick response helping me with the initial shipping issue.

I have tried on many lifters. If you have a wider foot and have the need to truly have your toes splayed out the way olympic lifting SHOULD be done. This is the perfect shoe. I love this color personally but the overall performance of the shoe is unmatched.

The flexweave mixes in beautifully with the lifter and your feet will thank you for HOURS into your training session. I’ve been able to go a full 3 hours in these shoes after training and then coaching an Olympic Lifting class.

Rock solid, built to perform. I prefer these over the new Legacy II’s.

I am a competitive powerlifter, and this is my second pair of heeled lifting shoes. The heel is slightly higher on the legacy lifters than my previous shoes, which helps me a lot with squatting – being a tall, very long-legged guy.

The shoes are also much heavier, which gives me more of a ‘feet glued to the floor’ feeling which is perfect for heavy squats and bench pressing. The shoe is very solid and dense, demonstrating a superior build quality.

I think this shoe will last a very long time. My experience is that it ran slightly larger than expected; I am a size 12 in just about every athletic shoe I wear, but the legacy lifter in size 12 is just a little big on me.

It works fine, but I think 11. 5 would have been right on the spot. If you’ve never experienced a raised heel before, you may want to find a shoe with less aggressive heel to toe drop. Overall, I would highly recommend this shoe to any powerlifter looking for a ultra high end heeled lifting shoe for squats.

Sizing: I’m a US 10. 5 and the 10. 5 fit about perfectly. Maybe like a millimeter snug to a true 10. 5, which is good for a lifting shoe. I have decently aggressive arches and the shoe really supported them.

Not absolute tanks like Rom 2s but still good. Heel security was great too. Toebox: was narrower than I would like. I have a semi wide foot. Not crazy wide but a ‘man’ foot. It felt like I could almost roll over the edge of the base.

Its not smashing my toes but it is more snug than desired. Despite the snugness, it is still secure. If you have an average foot, no problem. If you have a tad wider foot I wouldn’t go with it. Base: the base feels firm and stable but also has a slight bit of dampening.

It doesnt feel like Rom 2 concrete soles but it’s definitely not soft by any means. Material: honestly I’ve heard people’s concerns about the materials not being supportive enough but thats not really the case.

It’s a strong lighter shoe. I’m a 93kg male and aggressively olympic lift. These would hold up for me. Of course they aren’t Anta’s but they will hold up. Design: looks amazing. Actually a super awesome looking shoe.

(But looks aren’t what really matters) Overall: this is a great squat and olympic shoe for someone with a normal or narrower foot. The heels feel great. Is it worth $220? Idk, they are nice shoes. As a ‘top shoe’ there is a lot to compete with.

I would keep them (and they would perform great) if they didn’t crowd my toes as much as they do. If you think you have a slightly wide foot look to legacy lifters, antas, roms, etc.

These are the first lifters I have ordered without trying on and I was super nervous. Thankfully, my nervousness came to an end once I received them. They felt much lighter than my reebok lifters and lifting in them has made a huge difference for my lifting experience.

Looks good, feels alright. I don’t think Adidas will ever be able to make a show like the original Adipower, but this is a good stand-in. Materials feel like a mid quality weightlifting shoe which is exactly what this is.

Went up a half size after using the size guide/suggested trick measuring foot on the paper. Fit perfectly, look good and brilliant for lifting. Good discount for an expensive pair of shoes!

Had these shoes for at least 8 months, good value for money! You won’t get a pair of OLY shoes for £85. Never heard of the SABO brand before Darren recommended me these shoes. I’m just over a size 10 & 1/2 and the 11’s are a good fit.

You don’t want these shoes loose but you feet will expand during exercise. I usually wear with a thicker sock to fill any extra space with these shoes but wearing a thinner pair in the past has been absolutely fine.

These shoes will fit your foot better the more you wear them. The soles are very sturdy and solid. There won’t be any problem just rounding to the nearest size as the laces provide some good size lee way.

The weight of this shoe is very general for a lifter and not heavy like the nike’s but you will still notice them on your feet OFC >. < The velcro has got a bit looser but still holds on considering I've rinsed these shoes for about 2-2hr x 4 sessions a week for at least 8 months.

Overall: Price vs Quality = A steal! Go buy!.

Great product and great service. I ordered at the weekend, and the shoes arrived a few days later (during lockdown too, note), perfect fit and all in excellent condition. In good time for squat day! I bought these to upgrade from Nike Savaleos, which have shorter heel (15 mm vs 22 mm). The extra heel makes such a difference in mobility. I use these for powerlifting, both squat and bench. The first thing I notice was how light they are and how secure my feet were.

Ordered the same size as all my athletic footwear and these actually have a roomful toebox (Benefit since I have flat, wide feet) so my feet weren’t crushed as oppose to my Savaleos. Very breathable too.

Quality/durability is also great so hopefully they will last awhile. Overall, very happy!.

I had high hopes for these to replace my Reebok Legacy Lifters. The Reeboks are pretty heavy and run narrow as well but, up to now, are the widest I’ve been able to find. I have wide forefeet and the Inov-8 G 300 trainers have been great! I had hoped, since the soles look identical, the G 380 Lifters would be the same fit.

The G 380’s actually are about 3/8″ MORE narrow than the Reebok’s. That is my only negative I saw with this shoe. I wish someone would make a lifter for wider feet so it doesn’t feel like I’m stuffing my feet into a stiletto heel.

The shoe is definitely true to size and super light. I loved the material and they felt like they would breathe well, which would be a nice change from the Reebok’s. The heel cup felt tight but I couldn’t get around the narrow toe box.

If you have narrower feet, I would take these over the Reebok’s any day!!.

Best wide foot friendly lifters I’ve come across. I’ve been powerlifting for about 7 years now and these have dramatically increased my comfort when squatting. I ave flat wide feet but can’t squat in flats.

These lifters are the first wide toe box! And they really help with traction/grip, they don’t slide even if squatting on wood floor. Love the look, comfort & everything about them. I did have to exchange for 1/2 size bigger which was super easy to exchange.

There are a ton of articles and sources out there if you try to research the widest lifting shoes. While Do-wins come up often, some of the bigger shoe brands are usually referenced as wider. I don’t think any of those people have measured wide feet, not if they’ve actually tried them.

I wear a 4e/ff/h width, though I can generally be comfortable in an EEE for a few hours. I’ve had romelos, and PRIIs, along with trying on Adidas and some other smaller brands. My wide foot crew knows how the Adidas went.

Like stuffing a cardbord box into a traffic cone. Romelos and PRIIs are pretty close to the same, though I think the PRIIs may stretch a little more over time, making them feel wider; I had that hope for Romelos as well.

I’d bet PRIIs are great for an EE width foot. The Do-wins really aren’t that much wider than either of those IMO (have all three currently). They are much thinner in material though, which I’m sure will lead to less useful life vs.

the other shoes, for normal width feet. The sole on them is pretty flat however, in that it doesn’t come up the shoe at all. That flat sole combined with the more forgiving thin material allows someone with wide feet a little more comfort, because your feet can “spill” over ever so slightly.

Not enough to be unstable, but enough to be more comfortable. They still squeeze my feet, and they do it more than necessary for stability, but these Do-wins are 10x more comfortable than the other brands.

Other than possible longevity concerns, my only other issue is that they don’t have a full length plate in the sole. Romelos and PRIIs are both rigid heel to toe, you can’t lift your toes or your heel in a squat/DL wearing them, whereas the Do-wins will.

They are rigid from heel to mid-arch. This makes them slightly more versatile in the rest of the gym, while leaving them slightly worse at the thing we buy them for. I ordered the same as my work boots and tennis shoes, not a 1/2 size smaller.

They were close as it’ll get to perfect, slightly shorter than my tennis shoes. The widest part of my fot tracks directly above the widest part of the sole. 1/2 size smaller would not have fit, I’d need a whole for my big toe.

1/2 size larger my heel would be swimming in shoe.

Sizing: I wear a size 9 in everything else. The size 9 in these fit very tight, but I like them that way. Shoes look good and durable. My biggest issue is the arch. It feels like the shoe has a high arch the ends abruptly at the toe box.

Picture in your mind standing on the edge of a concrete patio where your toes are hanging over the edge. Or like standing on a teeter-totter. You are either back on your heels or on your tip-toes, there doesn’t seem to be a middle ground.

When catching a clean in the bottom, if I’m the slightest bit forward, the imbalance in the shoe seems to propel me forward and I miss the catch. Also very hard for me to balance in the bottom of the snatch and I have started missing lifts that I would normally make, feeling unstable.

If I had a do-over, I wouldn’t buy these. I was very hopeful because I loved my previous classic do-wins that have held up to 10 years of Crossfit and Oly lifting.

I bought these shoes to use at an upcoming powerlifting meet. As a powerlifter, I have over 10 years of training experience but have always just trained in a pair of converse when squatting/deadlifting.

Since I finally started to compete, I thought it made sense to get a pair of shoes for my squat. I picked these up because I loved their simple look and relatively affordable price. I have used these for the past two months and have loved them.

I will note: you will want to buy a 1/2 size smaller than your standard shoe size (I wear an11 US men’s in sneakers, so I purchased the 10. 5 in these shoes). All in all, these are super secure and feel great when squating in them.

I would 100% recommend.

I’ve used Asics Matflex 5s, Adidas HVCs and Sabo Deadlifts for Squat and Bench but the Goodlift’s beat all of these if you’re a flat shoe lifter. For reference, I measured in at 285mm with my sock on.

Bought a 44 and it’s a great fit. The sole is very stiff and sturdy, giving good grip and stability on the floor. The toe box is wider than the other shoes I’ve used but I like it. I can spread my toes and gives a wider base to really drive into the floor and prevent rolling on the outer foot.

The upper leather is also very stiff out of the box but apparently does break in nicely after a while. It adds a secure strong feel to the shoe though. The metatarsal strap does a great job of really tightening the shoe to your foot, again giving a very stable feel to the shoe.

For Deadlifts I use A7 slippers so I can’t comment on their suitability for that lift but I see no reason why they can’t be good for them. Although if you’re a Sumo puller I would probably suggest using the Sabo Deadlifts over the Goodlift due to the flexibility in the shoe.

Hopefully this helps peoples decision to purchase easier as I discovered reviews were few and far between with any decent information with regards to fit or comparisons to other shoes.

Took me a while to break in but I now use these for all my lifts. I was lifting barefoot prior to this, so I do like the 0 elevation. Good construction with minor weakness of the heel rubber adhesive.

Due to the tight nature of the lacing, you need to take some time to remove the shoes. I tend to put my left shoe on my right heel and push when removing it, hence the rubber coming loose. Shoegoo fixed this easily and it didn’t interfere with lifts.

I haven’t tried polishing out maintaining the leather and they still look in good condition.

Title says it. This is the best all round PL shoe at this price you can currently buy. Wider than con’s, stiffer with better floor feel than TR Lite’s. Leather gets softer quite quickly (2 sessions).

If you want a high top, flat, with a dorsal strap, get them. (I squat mid width, pull conventional). Sizing was also spot on, i went up by a half size when in between.

Amazing Shoe. The best I’ve ever worn for weightlifting. I feel connected and balanced more than I ever had throughout the lifts. The wooden heel gives tremendous feed back.

Feels fantastic on my feet, closest comparison would be Vans combined with a wooden heel. Absolutely no problems at all. They look even better in person too!

Best lifting shoes I’ve ever owned (this is my 3rd pair in 7 years). Much more stable in the bottom position and the flex point on the toe is great. Also the toe box is a little wider so the arthritic pain in my big toe has disappeared.

I can’t recommend these shoes enough.

I love them. I should have listened when others said to order. 5 up. I always wear the same size (10. 5). but in these I need an 11. I am so happy with the value and quality. I didn’t want to spend $200 when I can get these for less.

I am happy they have a strap that is only Velcro on the end so my shoe laces won’t get ruined. I am feeling the difference these make in my squats already. Very stylish and value makes these the best shoes I could have invested in.

Every pair of shoes I own are size 9s. There should be a boldface warning in the description indicating these shoes run small. Order at least a half size larger than your normal size or you’ll end up wasting an additional $15 exchanging for a pair that fit.

I was looking for a pair of hood weightlifting shoes because I didn’t have any and was squatting barefoot lol but these are my absolute favorite pair of all time. Such great support and feel like my feet are planted in the ground! 10000% recommend these! And the sipping was fast and they have great service!.

Absolute 🔥🔥🔥 in the gym. These shoes look so clean and make such a statement as soon as you wear them. Be ready to clean a little after receiving them and before spraying them with stain and water protector.

Mine looked a little dirty for sure as soon as I opened box but they are shite shoes what do you expect. Shoes are super comfortable and this style has become one of my new favs for everything in gym from cardio to heavy leg days.

The shoes are very comfortable and significantly improve my stability when lifting weights. They fit true to the full size. I would have given them a five star rating but the advertisement states “premium leather” and it is not.

It looks and feels more like a synthetic material. This could be improved. However,the great functionality is the bottom line for me.

Prior to D-Maks, I would squat barefoot. which wasn’t safe, sanitary, or practical. The D-Mak Block fixed all of that. The rubberized flat bottom sole is extremely comfortable, allows you to get deep to the ground, provides lateral ankle support while still giving you a full range of motion.

and let’s be real, they look sickkkk. Look good, feel good, play good. this shoe has that covered too!.

I have been using this shoe for a few weeks and the sole are coming off the shoe in different areas. The rubber is good and showing no signs of wear but isn’t attached to the shoe very well. Other than that the shoes are light, comfortable, and vent well.

With the sole issue I feel I over paid for these by 30-40$.

Perfectly what I was looking for. I needed a super flat, flexible yet supportive shoe. I have bought them for karate so I needed the white sole. The height protects my terribly weak ankles and I can put gel inserts in to soften the impact of striking the ground.

They have been well made with leather and a light, breathable mesh. I love them!.

Stiff and strong Nike Shoe for Gym work. Ideal for Deadlifts and Squats as soles are dead flat and grippy with very little flex or sidewall squish. Would definitely recommend.

Shoes are great. I m looking forward to purchasing multiple pairs as soon as they come available
