20 Best Shoes For Tennis Women’S (2023 Updated)

I bought these shoes recently because they were very highly rated on three different websites as the overall best women’s shoe for tennis for 2022. They are the most uncomfortable tennis shoe ever! I consistently wear a size 10 medium in athletic shoes and I already have a pair of Asics for tennis that I was trying to replace/upgrade because they’re worn out.

These are very tight in the toe box and tight on the upper heel – really just tight everywhere, but those two areas are the most noticeable. The toe turns up in a way that looked a bit funny when I put them on.

But after reading the reviews, I ignored it. Bad mistake. My feet ached all evening after wearing them to play tennis for a couple of hours. It is not a matter of breaking them in. I will never wear them again.

Such a colossal waste of money.

I have worn these shoes for a dozen times now. I have had previously worn out the gel-dedicate 6 and 7 which fit perfectly at my size 11. 5. unfortunately these are too narrow, and my feet are cramped.

There is reinforcement under the outside of the foot that I can feel when sprinting and definitely when doing lateral movements on the hard court, which become more noticeable the longer I play. Was hoping these would bed in but doesn’t seem to be the case.

I have tried inserting different more plush authoics but still the outside edge of both shoes gives me grief. Nice and tight around the heel, I would personally prefer more cushioning for hard heel strikes when sliding.

This is my favorite Asics out of the two I’ve tried. Gel Res 8 and Speed Solution FF. Unfortunately they run big and by the time I got them in the mail and tried them on, my correct size was sold out in the LE color way of black and silver.

So I sent these back and won’t be replacing them until another color that I like again comes along. They were really comfortable and very supportive from what I could tell. I will never wear one of Asics shoes again that has the hard plastic trusstic system on the insole.

I slipped and fell 3 times in these where I have NEVER slipped in any of my other 12 pairs of hard court tennis shoes. I’ve seen other people fall in that model as well. There is not enough rubber on the inside heal where the plastic and rubber meet, so when you pivot just right, the plastic scrapes the ground and gives way.

They should recall these in my opinion. But, the Gel Res 8’s do not have that problem and I will be getting some again in the future. Too bad I wasn’t informed before I purchased them that they ran big.

When I checked reviews after the fact, everyone is pretty much in agreement about this.

What a disappointing customer experience! I got two different ASICS models I liked in two different sizes. After trying them on at home and playing with a size I thought fits best, it turned out they run big.

I immediately contacted Returns department asking if I can return the shoes for a size smaller. I provided photos of the shoes which were in perfect condition and explained I played in them for 30 minutes.

However they came back offering a partial refund, which I didn’t expect from such a reputable retailer. Safe to say I will buying my tennis equipment elsewhere!!.

For the past 18 years or so, Ive worn no other shoe than ASICS. Be it cricket, tennis, running…even go to office in them, but this particular model really shook my long term faith in ASICS. Not only for me, I pretty much converted my entire family into ASICS household.

I couldn’t not believe how tight, narrow and uncomfortable this shoe was. Same size same foot. Have switched to Kswiss at least for my tennis needs. Sad. Unfortunate. I hope someone reads this review and starts auditing the design and product quality and consistency.

I’ve had a number of ASICS tennis shoes over the years, and have been generally satisfied with them. The cushioning is quite good, sole life rivals New Balance in the same price range. The sizing is true.

All good! But, my previous pair of ASICS had shoestrings that were ridiculously long. I use a tying technique that doesn’t require a double bow knot it to keep from untying. That technique uses a bit more string, but not enough to keep the string off the court.

My current ASICS has the opposite issue: the strings are too short! They’re so short that the top eyelet can’t be used. How can a shoe manufacturer not provide shoe strings of the proper length??.

I’m a very regular hardcourt tennis player, so my feet are fairly tough. Usually i can do 3 sets with no pain whatsoever on soles of my feet. With these though, i had to stop today after only 1 set as i was in agony.

There is so little cushioning under the front of the foot, it feels like you are playing bare foot. The actual shoe fits very well and is comfortable other than that, so it’s a shame. Unfortunately i cant return them as it is just a terrible design, not a faulty product, so it’s £50 absolutely wasted, i’ll stick to adidas next time.

Avoid these shoes at all costs.

I bought this show in march, early July, the sole was already gone. I do not play everyday and I was surprised by how fast it was tearing. Top part of the shoe is very durable. Second problem, and the worst, to me was foot pain while wearing the shoe for a while.

I play tennis for 2 hours, and after that, my foot aches so much that I can hardly continue playing. The days that I continue, I can barely walk the day after. I can’t say whether this is an issue on my foot that is enhanced by the shoe.

To me it didn’t work.

Using these for Pickleball. Needed to find a comfortable shoe with support and toe room especially with all the quick starts and stops required for Pickleball. I was wearing KSwiss Ultrashot court shoes which are pretty but don’t have a lot of toe room in terms of the height of the shoe at the toe.

I typically wear an 8. 5 medium and to go with a size 9 medium in these New Balance FuelCell 996v4. 5 having read online elsewhere that these were comfortable. Greatest decision ever made! Wore them right out of the box for several hours on the PB courts.

No break in period required. I used the insoles that came with the shoe and they worked fine but with a half size larger I’m going to try my Super Feet insoles. Plenty of toe room 👍. The last time on the courts a gal asked what brand shoe I was wearing bc they were so cute 😁.

Can’t speak to durability since I’ve only been wearing them a few weeks. I highly recommend them. Get them fast. They’re hard to find anywhere else.

I’ve been using these for fencing. Lighter than the Kempa Pros, weighs slightly less, and the fuelcell cushioning feels great! The rubber and drag strip are barely dented on a metal strip. These actually come in a wide, so they do not squeeze my feet.

Comfortable all day. For action, the wide forefoot design gives you great balance when you’re on your toes. I know it’s for the wrong sport, but 4 stars cause it meets all of my needs, except on heel strikes – it needs a heel cup to take some of the impact.

A pair of insoles have reduced that sore spot. Perfect otherwise. True to size – Foot size EU 40 wide Shoe size 8 wide Point of comparison: ordered the Fuelcell Rebel v2 in the same size and width. Both have the same fit* *The 996 are stiffer and have more structure to them.

I use the shoes three times a week for about 10-15 hours. I love New Balance running shoes because of the larger foot bed. So I decided to try the pickleball shoes. I love the shoes as they are they have a narrower/more supportive fit.

The trick is getting an off the shelf insole to fit in the shoe as it presses the foot up to the top of the shoe and is very uncomfortable. Usually I go up a size due to insoles. Which may solve the problem but I already bought the shoes and didn’t know this would be a problem.

The insoles sounded like they would be great from the description. They are really just removable weak pads. I have been trying insoles to get some to work and the only insole to work with the shoe is a 3/4 length.

If you don’t mind an average arch support, I love the shoe function and style.

I have enjoyed 3. 5 version. And was expecting at least the same from 4. 0. When I put those on , it felt great- feeling of a great compression due to new lace design. However after playing for 2-3 matches I have noticed that my feet was moving inside a shoes – felt slippery inside shoes, even with cotton sock.

With more synthetic sock is was sliding side to side (almost rotating on a feet). Even more tightening of laces didn’t help. Material used inside is synthetic and very slippery. EVEN BIGGER PROBLEM is the shoe SOLE.

Wilson went overboard with making it even thicker I think. shoes feel heavy. they squeak a lot. MAJOR SOLE SURFACE DESIGN FLAW. They slide due to changed design of the sole surface. I’m a middle of the match I switched to my old 3.

5 and I felt difference right away. I was able to switch direction of my movements much faster and without sliding. These shoes are ok for the beginners , who doesn’t run much. But if you are at least 3.

0+ , and toys actually run- AVOID SPENDING SO MUCH MONEY FOR PIECE OF RUBBER.

Very comfortable for tennis, or ping pong or normal walking. Do not fell bulky as one of my old Babolat shoes. Like the 10. 5W option, I couldn’t find in all the places, don’t feel my toes feeling squeezed.

I haves only 3 times for tennis so far, but I am thinking will fare for some good time. So quite happy for now. Like the colors too. In the past, in a haste or with less thought bought some odd colors for me like more Red and Bluey one, so very happy with this 90% black neutral one.

I have worn these shoes about 8 times now to play pickleball and they are excellent. They are definitely a roomy fit with a generous toe box and plenty of heel padding and support. I have very painful Achilles Tendonitis but since I am started playing in these it has reduced dramatically.

Tiny complaints – the heel padding is getting dirty really quickly and they are a tad bit hot on my feet. Not really complaints, just observations! I am would absolutely buy these shoes again, more colors please.

Bought these when my heavier, “stable” shoes started to feel too clumsy. I also have high arches and narrow heels. These shoes fit wonderfully. They are light, but protective, and have a particularly snug heel, so I get some ankle stability out of them.

The uppers showed signs of wear quickly, but these never developed into any kind of structural damage. The uppers do not stretch out of shape. They also look really nice. Already bought a second pair.

Purchased these shoes in JUNE by DECEMBER they are failing. I play recreationally 2x week 90 AND ALTERNATE with other shoes. the internal cushioning on BOTH shoes is failing AND the flex point on BOTH shoes on the exterior fabric has started to disintegrate.

I contacted TE and was just sent a link to head products that have a six month warrantee so no recourse on these at all. I have had Prince, Adidas and New Balance shoes and never had this happen. a bit disappointed in the TE response as well.

I really like this shoe as it is light weight , making responsiveness easier to accomplish. The construction also has adequate support but still allows for very good breathability , making them very comfortable.

When ordering this brand be sure to order either a half size or one full size larger than your usual fit as I could barely get my regular size on my foot making it extremely tight.

Little to no break in required. I have somewhat wide foot, in the E-2E range, wearing a 10. 5EE dress shoe. I had to go up a full size to 11. 5, but very happy with the fit. Found these to be more comfortable than the 3.

0 version. Have been wearing them to drills and weekend doubles matches. Too early to tell about long term wear, but suspect they will be fine given my overall experience with mulitple pairs of head shoes.

Its a little hard to tell from the picture, but the shoes are actually 3-tone, with a dark gray toe section, followed by the yellow neon accent, and a black heel section. Remember to take out the insole and remove the underlying sticker so that the shoes breath properly.

I was a bit hesitant about buying shoes on line but after looking at the many pairs of different shoes I have which are all around the same size, how could I go wrong. Well it appears that the head people might have shrunken their foot ruler somewhat.

They seemed a little tight when prancing around the house but I thought they should be okay, what I didn’t allow for was the fact that feet swell a bit when they get hot. One half size bigger would have been better but in my case they should be still okay and hopefully they will give a little over time.

After reading the blurb on line they sounded like they might have great cushioning but I would rate it as moderate compared to the balance of my footwear. On the plus side the grip is great on synthetic courts, they feel very stable and give you confidence when moving about the court.

If I’m to be fair, maybe some of the stability comes from the fact that they are on the firm side of the scales. The ventilation system seems to works well as my socks seemed noticeably dryer after a good workout on court.

I’ll be honest, it was the price that swayed my acquisition, so I figure that I’m probably getting reasonable value for money and given I’m just a weekend wannabe, they will do just fine until maybe I spy something better.

These fit me very well in length and medium-wide width. But the contouring of the insole did not seem to match the contours of my foot, and I have a very average kind of foot. It also seemed to be very short on cushioning.

Not comfortable, therefore. Returned. The search continues.

I have played tennis many years and currently play on a senior team. My regular shoe size is 8 1/2 AA and finding a proper fitting tennis shoes is a challenge. I have purchased the same Asics shoe many times.

This is my first pair of Babolat. The 8 1/2 narrow fits well. It’s comfortable and holds my foot in place as I move about the court. The arch support is good. It’s light weight and has just enough knit fabric to make it flexible right out of the box.

I have struggled finding shoes since the pandemic hit & options became more limited for narrow fitting shoes. I tend to have issues with the standard width options because they all slide badly on my heels, requiring me to cinch them uncomfortably tight to get any sort of stability.

These shoes are definitely a more narrow fit & a definite game changer for those of us who need it!!.

I wear a 2A width shoe. For years, I have bought New Balance because they are the only court shoes that come in narrow. But NB’s selection of narrow shoes is very limited and has become worse lately.

I discovered that these Babolat shoes run narrow and decided to try them. They work great! They are very padded inside and fit my 2A fit well. I will buy another pair in a different color.

I purchased these because the ASICS Gel Resolution shoes I was using were shot and I had to buy something. There weren’t any in my size in stock. These Babolats are a completely different animal. The ASICS felt much lighter, were easier to put on, and enabled quicker movements.

The Babolat shoes almost feel like boots in comparison. It just feels like it takes a fraction of a second longer to get moving. Also, I developed quad tenonitis after buying these shoes. In all fairness, I don’t know if that was coincidental.

I ended up replacing the inserts that come with the shoes with SuperFeet Black insoles. This was a definite improvement over the stock ones. On a more positive note, these shoes provide superior support for sure.

As other reviewers have noted, once you get past the struggle to get them on, they envelope your feet very well even without tightening the laces very much. If you are worried about an ankle sprain, you can pretty much be at ease since they are almost like high-tops.

I found using a shoehorn is the fastest and least frustrating way to put them on. That said, if I had to do it over, I would opt for the lighter more traditional ASICS shoes.

I love Babolat ProPulse shoes, they fit me so well and the soles are super durable. My first experience with them was with the Fury model and they were great. I did wear the soles out within the warranty period but I played a lot and they honoured the warranty and sent me a new pair, but they sent me the Blast model.

I loved those too. After those wore out I bought the Fury again (they were on sale) from Racquet Guys but I am having issues with them. On my right foot on the inner part there’s a plastic (or really hard thin rubber) that digs into my ankle.

I’ve tried cutting the piece as close to the eye holes as possible and taping it up to provide cushion but it still rubs weird. I ended up ordering another pair of the Blast (these ones) and they’re awesome.

Having work both the Fury and Blast I don’t think the difference between the two warrants the price difference, I’m happy enough with the Blast and now hesitant about the Fury because of the issue I just mentioned.

Best tennis shoes I have used. I know, many people say things like that. But they fit me perfect. The soles have great traction and last longer than any shoe I have owned. Finally, they are so much better than the latest shoes from Babolat (in the same price range).

Only problem, I don’t think Babolat wants to sell them in the USA anymore. Hope that changes.

I’ve been wearing this model, and its close predecessors, for 25 years or more. These shoes are HEAVY, but are comforatble and a great fit for my wide feet, with excellent beginning support. However, I have noticed that the build quality of these shoes has declined over the past several years.

Sometimes the shoe fit is just a bit odd, though wearable, and the support structure starts to wear down in a month. More importantly, the bottom rubberized layer consistently peels off at the heel after perhaps six weeks of pickleball games, something that NEVER used to happen.

I have inquired with customer service but have never received more than an anodyne response. These shoes have served me well, but I’d try another brand if I could find one with a wide fit (the K Swiss wides are not really satisfactory substitutes).

I wear this style sneaker for tennis 4x week. I’ve had 5 pairs in the last 5-6 years. Love the look & usually when worn in they’re very comfortable. I’m btw an 8 & 8. 5. Bought an 8 cause they stretch.

I played in USTA Sectionals this weekend & wore them for the first time on a hard court. In two hours of play I had a huge painful blister underneath a small bunion, a middle toe was sore on top from jamming into the shoe & I had to take them off.

Not sure if the materials used are cheaper or this pair was a bit off, but my left foot is hurt, not forever, but.

I’ve worn NB tennis shoes for many years. I have a wide foot and I love their wide options. I was playing in my latest pair of 806’s and noticed my feet were getting tired and my arches were hurting.

I went home and compared these to my last pair (1006’s) and the insoles in these are nowhere near the support of the old ones. These have less than 1/8″ of material and almost no support. When I called the customer service I was told I could go online and order a new pair of insoles, but they wouldn’t send me any.

Very disappointed that this will be my last pair of NB shoes.

So excited to get a pair in my preferred style but immediate regret the order every time I put them on! They are so uncomfortable! Imagine the cardboard strawberry container, you k ow the green ones…that’s pretty much the feeling of the shoe rubbing in your foot.

Ouch! Blisters every time I wear them, can’t wear more tha 15minites walking. I love the look, hate the feel. And btw, the toe box cuts in towards your foot real sharp – go a 1/2 size up if you dare.

I’ll prob just buy more all birds or anything else at this point. I don’t want to even donate them to pass along the anguish.

Shoes look nice but they are so uncomfortable to wear and it’s primarily due to the cheap construction. This is perhaps my 4th Cole Haan shoe in my wardrobe (nothing to brag about since they’re all relatively low cost, but I have more to compare it to) and by far the cheapest feeling shoe I have ever owned out of the 50 or so pairs of leather shoes I currently own.

Better than a canvas sneaker? Maybe, better than any other pair of leather shoes? Definitely not. A pair of premium leather vans will cost half as much and feel much much better. I feel that most reviews are written by the gift giver or by someone who has buyers remorse because these are not comfortable at all, they are rather narrow and slightly true to size but slightly long.

Save the 180$ and buy some premium leather vans or buy an actual quality shoe in the same price range such as the Ecco soft 8. I did like the minimal aesthetic of this shoe but comfortwise it’s somewhere between a flip flop and a Nike SB check solar sneaker (these aren’t even more uncomfortable than a vans old skool and incredible narrow).

Qualitywise it’s below a pair of converse Chuck Taylors. The leather just feels incredibly cheap. Heaven forbid a piece of tape falls on your pair because as soon as I tried to take the piece of scotch tape off the shoe it’s almost as if it ripped the entire shiny surface of the leather off.

It looks, wears, feels, and damages like fake leather. Buyer beware. You are NOT getting what you pay for. Fashionable? Maybe. But the leather makes them look like a 7$ pair of shoes off of the wish app.

I’ve bought hundreds of pairs of shoes from Nordstrom, and this is by far the most disappointing.

I purchased these shoes on the final day of January 2021. The shoe has an appealing look. It’s a nice weight. However, the pair I have didn’t last very long before the inside of it started to come apart.

The leather has chipped. It’s a real shame considering it wasn’t an everyday shoe for me. I have other shoes from Cole Haan that have had a lot more durability. It is possible I just got a lemon, but I feel I overpaid for this shoe by a lot.

In general the shoe just wasn’t holding up well. Even if it had stayed together, I wouldn’t pay full price for these again.

Very light and good cushioning. All court shoe, I Play in clay and upper mesh will not allow any sand partials inside shoe. I feel it has more space in toe area so i wear double socks. overall its a great value shoe.

I wish in the next version Decathlon can add gel technology like Asics brand.

I have used these shoes for some time now, especially in hard and tarmac courts, and they look and feel like new. I’m an improver player and these shoes work very well for me. Would strongly recommend them.

Purchased the shoes for Competition tennis and they are very good. They are comfortable with just the right amount of cushioning.

I first picked up a tennis racket when I was five years old, and by the time I was into my teens I had to accept the fact that I would never find tennis shoes that comfortably fit my feet, which are wide with a high instep.

Throughout my adult life I have become reconciled to having huge hard blisters on the outsides of each of my big toes, and also to my shoes often becoming untied because the center of where the laces tie crosses the high point of my high instep.

Last year I even went to the point of purchasing lace-free tennis shoes from another brand, which were an interesting experiment but had unique problems of their own. So naturally when I looked through the reviews of these shoes I was thrilled to read that they run wide and have the laces set slightly off to the side.

Voila, I ordered a pair and I could not be happier. They fit perfectly (I am usually a 6. 5 but the website said they run large and that a 6 would be right, and it is); they are light but buoyant, and the minute I put them on I knew I will never again have to deal with blisters or shoelace issues.

In addition, for some reason, they feel spongy and scrunchy under my toes, which gives a good feeling of grip and connection. A big thanks to whoever came up with this innovative design! And the color selection is great too! (PS – I cannot yet grade for durability because I only just started wearing these shoes.

I’ve worn Nike my entire life and currently have 3 pairs of Nike shoes for walking and training. I’ve always worn a 9 so ordered a 9 in these. I actually need an 8. 5 instead, which is strange. I have an average/medium foot width and these were too wide on me.

I’d say go a full size down if you’re narrow, 1/2 size if you’re medium and true size for wide feet. Disappointed bc they’re comfy, but they were gaping at the sides too much and slipped up and down my heel when I walked.

The sideways lacing isn’t my favorite- I don’t really see the point, honestly, but I could’ve lived with that had they fit.

Terrible shoes. The diagonal laces across the foot are a disaster. The inside lining of the shoe is too slippery, my feet slide around inside of the shoe. Trying to slide in these shoes means you ram your toes into the top of the shoes.

The tongue is a ridiculously thin material, doesn’t protect the front ankle tendons from the laces that run right across them. The laces do not go closely enough to the toes, so I can’t tie my shoes tightly enough or have an even distribution of tension across my foot.

There are less loops for the laces meaning there is more tension on each loop hurting my feet. The outer sole is not durable. They really tried to do something but all they did was destroy the shoe. Very disappointing.

It makes me wonder, did they have people who actually play intense tennis try out these shoes before they gave them the go-ahead? All of my teammates hate these things but we are forced to wear them.

I love these sneakers and have been playing exclusively in them the past 18 months – I always have two pair rotating, and play in them 4-6months, I play 10 hours per week+. I tried the NXTs and found them super loose around the ankle and in the toe box.

The Vapor Pro fit perfect with no break-in time. I don’t slide around in them at all, they feel like part of my feet – in the best way! Toe box is comfortable, with just a little extra room, and I love the Nike lace system, I can get them really snug to support my mid foot.

I wear a size 9 and have a high arch – these feel supportive but no extra bulk keeping me fast and close to the court. Now Nike just needs to give me some more color variety!!.
